Yuma Month Day 26 - Role Swap

god i was excited for this one. it first started off as a joke, but the more i thought about it, the more interesting this swap became. so here's my massive lore dump of changes that'd happen in the story beneath the cut (spoiler warning):

i think, fundamentally, yuma and yakou are very similar characters. they're both very protective and kindhearted, with a strong sense of justice and a penchant for attracting terrible luck. because of this, some things would remain the same, such as the NDA's dynamics with their doormat chief as well amnesia!yakou's massive unpaid intern energy. i think yakou would be pretty similar to how he behaved in the light novel- a bit more optimistic and naive, like yuma. but there are two key differences between them that'd make this a different story, especially in ch 4: yuma has a forte, and yakou is very selfish. so here's some changes:

yakou's wife is his shinigami now, as you can see, while shinigami is yuma's dead wife. i think mrs furio would act cooler than shinigami. she'd still be playful, but she takes her job more seriously. also she hands yakou the solution keys normally without throwing up. they still have to do the dance and mouth sword thing tho. and the other stuff. that's just death god protocol

shinigami (or in this case the unnamed Mrs. Kokohead but i will still be calling her shinigami for convenience sake) was a scientist at amaterasu who studied forensics and thanatology instead of regenerative medicine. this also means that the pill she gives zombie yuma is not going to bring him back, but instead grant the zombie homunculi a peaceful, painless, but permanent death

speaking of zombie yuma, he's the homunculus now! yakou is 100% human and also doesnt have a forte. he's still number one, but instead of having a forte he's just that good at solving mysteries

yes this means makoto looks like yakou now. sorry makotoheads. i think he'd have really long, shaggy hair dyed to be like. idk. black or something. also he's more clean shaven bc stubble with a mask on is a sensory nightmare

yuma still cant cook. he subsists entirely on takeout, meat buns, black coffee, and beer. he's still in a lot of debt and under a lot of stress and his personality is essentially "what if canon number one just gave up"

he doesn't smoke though. he tried once and got into the worst coughing fit

imma say it right now. kurumi is not a love interest. yakou likely disguises himself as a faculty member instead (also i think one of the teachers gets a crush on fem yakou bc i just know she'd be hot)

ANYWAY what about chapter 4? im SO glad you asked! because here's where things get spicy!

so, lets start with the dead wife. shinigami catches onto huesca's inhumane research and she's just as adamant about bringing the truth to light as she always is. she blows the whistle, so he blows her up. yuma investigates, but they dont let him look any further, yada yada, yuma stews in his misery for five years

yomi sends in the evidence to motivate yuma to kill huesca, and makoto lets it happen because a dead huesca would be convenient. he even introduces the hitman, fully expecting yuma to make use of him

yuma doesnt. in fact, he wants to kill huesca with his own hands. and now that these detectives are here, he can do it and even return alive. the thing is, he doesn't want to put them in danger, so he chooses to do almost everything alone (sound familiar?)

his plan is simple:

ask desuhiko for a peacekeeper uniform. desuhiko trusts him enough to take "i want to investigate kanai ward's ultimate secret by infiltrating their ranks" as an answer. he does, however, let yakou know about this as an offhand comment before the mystery ever begins

hold fubuki's hand. it doesnt really matter how. she'll gladly allow it because she's fubuki. he stores her time powers and heads out the sub. yakou also learns this as an offhand comment played off as a joke (maybe fubuki affectionately comments about how she never expected the chief's hands to be so soft... idk. there has to be some way for yakou to have this as a future clue)

use his peacekeeper status to sneak into amaterasu HQ and demand a functioning ama-pal from that one creepy researcher

use ama-pal + fubuki's borrowed powers to bypass huesca's security. sneak the bot past the hard-of-hearing doctor and press the button to shut off security

this would probably alert huesca, but since the doctor never received a warning, yuma has enough time to rush in and stab him before he realizes what's going on

leave HQ while still in uniform, dispose of the disguise once he's safe, and return to the NDA like nothing happened. success!

soooo.... yakou, on that same day, decides to investigate amaterasu HQ with makoto

all the while, vivia has his suspicions about yuma's actions and keeps an eye on him in spectral mode. he... basically witnessed the whole thing, so he gets up off his ass and decides to follow yakou to the lab because he has a Very Bad Feeling about this

just like canon, he senses the death god and deduces that our protag has been killing off murderers, and so he wants to protect his chief as well as his peace and quiet (his dynamic with yuma would be the same as his dynamic with yakou, since it's entirely believable for yuma to treat vivia with the same kindness yakou did)

yakou tries to speak to huesca, but surprise! security is disabled and he's dead in the lab! no one else at amaterasu liked huesca enough to check on him, so yakou and makoto are the first ones at the scene of the crime. yakou, of course, decides to start investigating this murder

vivia somehow sneaks into the lab (dont ask me how) and confronts yakou, threatening him with his boxcutter and adamantly imploring him to stop pursuing this particular mystery in the same way he did yuma in canon. unfortunately, this attracts attention, and now they're in trouble (maybe even yomi's there to fetch his files). at this point, yakou has enough solution keys, so he panics and goes right into the labyrinth (and maybe others can enter for another reason that isnt coalescence idk)

so... they go in the labyrinth... vivia tries to stop him every step of the way, until the answer is right in front of them

yakou kills yuma with his own hands. there's no stab wounds or toxic gas to leave any doubt. yakou begins to question what good his justice really does. it doesnt even save them from their predicament, just like the other deaths. instead, makoto ex machina comes in to save them, and hands yakou a small black box

when they return to the agency, everyone is heartbroken over their chief, who seemingly died out of nowhere. fubuki tried rewinding time, but to no avail. halara tried everything to wake him up, knowing it's futile. desuhiko stood aside, feeling completely helpless. and yakou and vivia return looking like they just came back from hell

they barely get the chance for a funeral before the knockout gas trap activates... you know the rest

AAAAND SCENE! so that's my extremely long winded lore dump about this au. i thought about it Way Too Much but god it's so interesting to me. i love these characters and swapping them was immensely fun

Gosho HIMSELF stated that MK (Magic Kaito) and DC were in separate universes and were not canon to each other. one of the main differences between the two is that in MK magic actually exists, which I feel like would ruin DC's plotline (just think of the fake 'magic episodes' like the dog on fire episode).

I think Gosho messed up by not making these two worlds unite in the first place. I mean he did write MK first then gave up on it, but I still think he has made the plotline and worldbuilding flawed. he shouldn't have flat out said they were not relevant to each other. ofc he couldn't have foreseen how popular DC would become but still.

and his father being alive ?????????? TO BE FAIR we kinda knew that since like 2017 already BUT still ????

from the very beginning, Kaito’s whole reason for becoming Kaito Kid was to figure out the truth about his dad’s death. he thought his father was killed because of this shady organization that’s hunting for the Pandora gem, a magical stone that supposedly grants immortality. it’s a HUGE responsibility for a high schooler, but he took it all on because he loved his dad and wanted justice !!! like he is still just a child !!!! now the organization thinks HE is the original KID !! and he is in danger !!! but he won't give up !!!!!

and then they are like, “oh, by the way, Toichi faked his death and let Kaito think he was dead for years.” YEARS. do you know how damaging that is??? Kaito grew up grieving. he put himself in so many life-threatening situations because he thought it was the only way to honor his father’s memory. and now we find out that Toichi let his own son suffer through all of that on purpose? ON PURPOSE ?????

and yes, maybe Toichi had some big reason for faking his death. maybe he thought it was the only way to keep Kaito safe or whatever. I'm assuming it's gonna relate to the Organization plotline. but like guess what? it didn’t work cause Kaito still ended up in danger!!!!!! so good fucking job !!!! like you're telling me he is oh sooo good at masking himself and he couldn't have faked a new identity?

and you know who else failed Kaito? Yusaku Kudo.

he’s Kaito’s uncle, which means he absolutely knew what was going on. he knew about his 'death'. he knew Kaito lost a father. he knew he was grieving his dad. and what did Yusaku do? absolutely nothing. you're telling me that not even ONCE he went to see him? Toichi is still alive and in contact with Yusaku and that just . Is Okay to Them???

I mean does Yukiko know??

if they were cousins, why have they never tried to interact before? even if their families were distant, you’d think someone would have mentioned the connection. Yukiko was Toichi's student, she should have known about Kaito, right? but in every interaction we’ve seen, Yukiko talks about Toichi as if he was just her teacher, nothing more. no fond family anecdotes, no “Oh, how’s Kaito doing?”—just silence. if she knew they were cousins, wouldn’t she have at least acknowledged the connection? did Yusaku just . Lie to her??? for like what, 20+ years? if Yukiko and Toichi were related, she would have brought it up at some point especially since Yukiko is a bit of a gossip and loves to tease people (what a queen, I love her). you think she wouldn’t have mentioned her oh so pretty and charming nephew Kaito in all her dramatic flair? no way.

then there’s Kaito’s symbolic funeral for Toichi. where were the Kudo family members? if they’re actually related, how do you justify none of them showing up?

grief was/is a huge part of who Kaito was. this just cheapens everything.

it’s lazy writing, plain and simple. Gosho could’ve explored their connection in so many interesting ways without making Kaishin related. this also downplays Toichi/Yusaku's dynamic cause all the times Yusaku stopped Toichi he was just stopping his own brother lmao.

instead, he threw in a cheap twist that doesn’t add anything to the story and actively detracts from what was already established.

& let's be real: there’s no way Gosho can sweep this under the rug with some heartwarming reunion or throwaway explanation. his father can't just show up and be like 'Hi child! I am alive! let's get some food to eat and discuss your school grades'. I desperately hope it won't be some comedic relief situation, or a joke or whatever. this is DARK.

I suppose the worst part is that Kaito didn’t spend his life secretly hoping Toichi was alive or refusing to believe the evidence. he accepted that his father is dead. Kaito grieved fully. yk how there are characters that are like, 'no, my dad is alive! nobody belives me but please, I know it!'. that simply is not Kaito.

when Kaito finds out Toichi is alive it’s not going to be pretty. IT BETTER NOT BE. Kaito isn’t the type to have a “you’re back, I missed you” moment. I hope he's going to be furious because he’ll feel betrayed, lied to, and robbed of the years he spent mourning. he should be allowed to take a few swings at him tbh -

Gosho NEEDS to dive into the emotional consequences. if Gosho skips over that, it’s going to feel like a complete disservice to Kaito’s character. it needs to be ugly and messy. this can't be fixed immediately. it should be over few different ARCs imo.

another sad part is how Kaito pretty much lives in father’s shadow, trying so hard to live up to this idealized version of Toichi; a version that probably never existed in the first place because he doesn't know his father. he has to piece together the prettiest colours of his memories, from scraps of tales, fragmented news, and his own desperate need for a father figure. when your eyes forget your father's face, tinted glasses veil your orbs.

and in doing so, he put Toichi on this pedestal so high that he could never realistically reach it, no matter how good he actually became. and the worst part is, he DID surpass his father. yes, Toichi was undoubtedly skilled, but Kaito is doing all of this crazy fucking shit while being a teenager. fighting the organization, fighting pirates, risking his life MULTIPLE times? like that one time he almost was blown up in the train?

and Kaito doesn’t even realize it. he’s so fixated on this perfect image of his father that he can’t see how far he’s come. he can’t see that he’s not just living up to his father’s legacy—he’s surpassing it. and maybe to admit that he surpassed it would feel like a betrayal to his father.

I just hate this. you spend so much of your life idolizing your parents, because if you don't, then it also feels like a betrayal. you spend years justifying their mistakes, convincing yourself that everything will make sense someday, that they’ll come through, that they’re doing their best. you try to make sense of why they aren’t there when you need them, why they aren't the people you thought they were. and then the worst thing happens: you realize you’ve been holding onto an image of them that wasn’t real. and not only that, but you were the one who built it. you’re the one who put them on that pedestal in the first place, because you didn’t want to see them as flawed. you couldn’t afford to, because it would mean that everything you thought you understood about your relationship with them was a lie. you lose the last thread of control you had.

so then you paint the walls of your heart with this fantasy version of them, and you know deep down they could never live up to it. idealization is a double-edged sword. when you only see a person as perfect, you set yourself up for constant disappointment, because no one is perfect, and you’ll never be able to live up to the expectations you’ve placed on them cause people are messy and flawed.

so yeah, TLDR: Kaito deserves better. he deserves to be angry, to grieve the years he lost, the loss of normalcy, the loss of his teenage years, and to hold Toichi accountable for the pain he caused. whether or not Gosho will give him that remains to be seen, but if he doesn’t, it’s going to be a massive betrayal — not just to Kaito, but to the fans who’ve followed his story all these years.

OH BOY THAT IS. A QUESTION IN A HALF

I'll start off by giving my opinion on all the finalists of each season!

TDI: Honestly, i wouldn't change it. Both Gwen and Owen are pretty relevant characters, they're fun as the finalists and it makes sense they'd make it that far tbh. I wouldn't swap them out for anyone else this season outside of maybe Leshawna if her elimination wasn't so cheap? That or change it to be like "oh yeah we should make them stay in this nice resort instead of that shitty summer camp" as motivation for nominating someone during Haute-Campture. Idk. Id be more in favor of finalist Leshawna if Fresh TV, you know, gave her more relevance outside of being Gwen's bestie towards the end? And just gave her character depth? Or an arc on her own? But she's the only other candidate in my eyes

TDA: I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN: THE FINALISTS SHOULD'VE BEEN LINDSAY AND HAROLD. why was Duncan a finalist. Literally why. What does he do that's interesting enough to justify keeping him for the ENTIRE SEASON. If you wanted to do the Courtney list plotthread, just introduce it earlier on in the season and kick Duncan then! Or better yet, make one of the early rejoins be Courtney instead and have Duncan get eliminated pre-merge and Izzy come back post-merge! Im less against finalist Beth, but her character's plotlines aren't compelling to me at all this season :/

Lindsay on the other hand has a full character arc this season of coming into her own and trying her hand at leadership, has a rivalry with Courtney, and she still keeps her character throughout! And honestly i just think Harold's an entertaining character and him making it further than Duncan for at least one season would've been great!

TDWT: As the season is written? I wouldn't change the finalists at all. Heather and Alejandro are the most important characters of the season outside of the Love Triangle and Cody + Sierra and if you want my opinion, none of them should've been finalists. Now, if you do rewrite the season, i'd say Courtney (or even Eva if you make her rejoin mid season) deserved at least to reach the final three. Don't have much to say here.

ROTI: JO. OMG JO. JO SHOULD'VE BEEN A FINALIST. Again, i've made a post about this earlier (which i CANNOT FIND. WHY) But Jo should've been a finalist! They didn't need to give Lightning a vilain arc in the last two episodes just because! Im not super against Cameron being a finalist, but i don't like Lightning being one. Granted you could argue for different characters making for good finalists if you're going to rewrite the entire season (Anne Maria maybe? Or Zoey)

TDAS: Oh boy, TDAS. Sweet, sweet TDAS. Listen. Listen. In an alternate universe where Total Drama is a good show, Mike and Zoey could be good finalists. Unfortunately for them there is a large, looming Courtney-shaped shadow over that idea, made even worse by how both Zoey and Mike were used throughout the season.

Yeah if you couldn't tell by now, Courtney 101% SHOULD have been a finalist! TDAS should've been her season! It's the only season where she makes it past Duncan! She's a strong competitor, a compeling character, she's been put through shit the entire series, hell she could have interesting interactions with all the cast members! But no, Sundae Muddy Sunday happened instead.

As for possible finalists? Lindsay. And Jo. Yeah look if they're not gonna be finalists in earlier seasons you may as well make them finalists here. You could still make an argument for Zoey if the season were rewritten, but otherwise yeah this is probably the worst season for canon finalists :(

TDPI: Honestly with the direction they took, im... fine, with Sky and Shawn being the finalists. They're relevant characters, they have the more important arcs and outside of Scarlett and Jasmine, some of the most competent characters, enough to get here.

I'll take this as an opportunity to say i haven't landed yet on finalists for my PI rewrite? I know for a fact i want Sammy to be one, but im unsure about the other. All i know is that i don't think it'll be Shawn or Sky.

TD2023 S1: Nothing wrong with Bowie and Priya as finalists i'll be real! Priya might be a bit predictable, but it opened up alot of avenues for different things to be explored within her character (that the show never took rip), and she honestly deserved to get far for this cast's first season. As for Bowie, he's pretty relevant all throughout the season and seeing a more antagonistic character make it to final two is really nice to see! No complaints!

TD2023 S2: ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS! ALL OF THEM! The final 3 kind of sucks this season because every option has at least one gapping flaw in it due to the writing over the season: Wayne is barely a character for half the season and only gets interesting moments before the finale, Caleb has the most dragged out and annoying romance subplot in all of TD (not just because it was boring and artificial but because it dragged down and arguably ruined one of the most interestin characters of it's cast) and Julia's just magically gotten amazing at everything, INCLUDING playing the game because these teenagers just keep! beliving her! and telling her things! for some reason! Urghhh

If i had to rewrite the season entirely i'd have an MK vs Raj final 2. You'd get the antag/vilain rep for a finalist position, and hopefully a more interesting character than Wayne (fuck you Raj's more interesting of the two by default.) Maybe Scary Girl could be a 3rd curveball option. Nichelle or Axel if they were given actual arcs. And characters. Whatever.

Sorry for ending this post on such a sour note! i just really don't like reboot season 2 everytime i think about anything outside of the Finale or Mkulia!

26. freebie question, a good while back (before the party split) you mentioned that a possibly interesting ship would be Imogen/FCG. Obviously canon has not gone that direction, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on Imogen and FCG's relationship :D

It is interesting because Imogen hasn't interacted with FCG a ton. I think that friendship sort of fizzled out once FCG started believing in their personhood and particularly after they began building a relationship with the Changebringer. Imogen was not terribly supportive of that (possibly jealous, or possibly just not sure how to engage with it) and so there really hasn't been much.

They are really interesting as parallels, actually, though actually pretty much everyone in the party except for Orym and Chetney fit in this to some degree. Like Imogen (and Fearne), FCG was given particular powers by a megalomaniacal entity, for the purpose of furthering those goals. I think Predathos grants somewhat more agency to loyal Ruidusborn than Aeor entrusted FCG with, though that is to be seen, but there's something very tragic, in my mind, from Imogen's perspective, about how FCG was the tool of a destroyed empire, and so while he still carries those scars and consequences, he actually does have the freedom to be his own person. FCG has to manage a serious chronic condition, essentially, but they don't have missions, and unless some of the wilder theories are right (and they could be, though I have my doubts) the ones who did this to them are long dead. Is this her future? Will she be left with dreams and telepathy even if they defeat Predathos? Will they be the upsides (controllable sorcery powers) or the downsides (nightmares, uncontrollable sorcery powers)? Why did FCG get to just sleep through the hard part and she has to fight her way out?

It really is a fascinating thing about the party: Fearne and FCG were designed to be who they are (though Fearne's upbringing at least was her own). Ashton was partially created in a cult ritual (though it remains unclear if they were the intended recipient or merely the one it happened to stick to). I don't think Imogen was planned a la Fearne, but I do wonder if Predathos or the Weave Mind did specifically target Liliana to ensure her daughter would also be Ruidusborn. While the nature of Laudna's sorcery abilities hasn't come up (and, to be fair, a lot of sorcery abilities in D&D are just like "well that happened to your baby, idk what to tell you") she was used by Delilah for that as well. So much of this party shares this with Imogen and FCG but I think they are the most extreme examples (Fearne is mostly unaffected physically/mentally though obviously learning of her origins is unsettling and upsetting, and Ashton and Laudna's situations mostly hurt them and not as often others, though Laudna's is increasingly a crapshoot) and I think as this became apparent and as they both grew more comfortable with who they were they sort of lost that connection.

They do still share a lot of powers though and I'd love to see them talk again - Laura and Sam always play off each other well, and those earlier interactions where they both tried to read each other's thoughts, or coordinate probing Ashton or Ollie's mind, or the first casting of Shared Dream were all delightful - but they have drifted apart since.

in ROTTMNT I would probably say Mikey. I think it's a little easy to lean too hard into the sort of "sweet little brother" thing that a lot of fandom likes (this isn't meant as a callout, lol, I like it too) and forget that he is canonically a little gremlin who is very silly and sometimes pretty gross (I mean he's a 13 to 15-year-old boy so it tracks).

Also he probably has the least defined character arc of literally every main character in the series (including the supporting cast like April, Splinter, Draxum, and both Caseys). Leo has his struggles with his place and identity within the team as well as his growth as a leader, Donnie has his issues with feeling replaced and directly linking his family "needing" him to his family loving him, Raph is struggling to live up to the expectations of the clan and his role as a big brother, April deals with her struggles connecting with her own peers and her fear that she doesn't count as part of the fam, Splinter has a billion things going on, Draxum has a whole redemption arc (truncated as it was) and Casey Sr effectively does too, and Casey Jr. has grief and trauma. And Mikey... would probably have had a really good character arc if we'd gotten the rest of season 2 and season 3!

A lot of Mikey's episodes where he gets to really get feelsy and show his emotions are directly tied to other people's character development, especially Donnie's and Draxum's, so we don't get as much of what his deal is. The only really solid Mikey centric episode is Hot Soup The Game, which definitely brings up Mikey's frustrations with being the youngest and thus babied as a result, so that's something you can draw on for his character, but even that's more tied directly into what he wants from interactions with other people and less about what he wants for himself.

(the truffle episode is super weird... like Mikey learns not to take his friends for granted? I guess?? I wouldn't have expected him to in the first place but yeah I guess that's some character development lol)

(actually as a total side note, it does annoy me a little that when Todd is first introduced as a character in Season 1, the whole point of his superpower being niceness was that he was so nice you'd do anything for him, and even villains were unable to turn him down, which was a really good gag and made him an interesting character. Then at some point it became that Todd's niceness meant he couldn't turn anyone down and suddenly he was just kind of a doormat, to Mikey first in the truffle episode and then all of them later in Todd Scouts. I actually like the Todd Scouts episode but also you didn't have to do that to him lmao)

(actually actually even though I like Todd Scouts I would have loved a version of that episode where Splinter stayed with them in the woods and then we dealt with how his feelings were hurt by the kids being more interested in their phones than his teaching and they could have pointed out that their dad kind of waited until late in life to start teaching them life skills and IDK WE DIDN'T GET THE FAMILY BONDING CAMPING TRIP WHEN THEY GOT CAUGHT IN THE TURTLE TANK IN SEASON 1, WHY DIDN'T WE GET IT IN SEASON 2??)

The whole Roseberry situation is so so weird to me. Tbh when I started room of swords I didn't care much about the ships, I was there for the plot, but when strawbarrow was revealed to have been canon all along I was so happy for them

However a lot of people were displeased because they thought Gyrus would end up with Tori.

I think one of the comment sections that struck me the most was right as the episode ended with Tori kissing "Gyrus" (who was actually Kodya in Gyrus' body pretending to be him) and someone commented "imagine possessing your boyfriend's body only for some girl to kiss him" which was a pretty funny comment

some people responded however that if anything Kodya was Gyrus' ex because he had been in a relationship with BB!Gyrus but New Gyrus didn't know him the same way. Which WOULD have been a good argument to make if Gyrus hadn't been making puppy eyes at Kodya since S1...

tbh it's fine not to see it, I didn't see it either at first, but to say that Gyrus was CLEARLY attracted to Tori???????? when he never showed any sign of liking her as more than a friend?

I've read RoS many, many times both before and after it ended (been reading it from 2019 oh god it's been so long???) and all through S1 there are these small, small hints that Gyrus has a small crush on Kodya EVEN THOUGH he doesn't remember him. They were always meant to be together.

Tori does develop some feelings towards him, granted (we do learn that it's because he looks like her beloved but that's later, people couldn't have known back then), but that doesn't make Gyrus entitled to return them.

People shipping Roseberry shouldn't make the authors entitled to change THE ENTIRE PLOT simply because some people aren't happy with their story choices.

At that point there's been many hints that New Gyrus and Kodya are still attracted to one another and I'm just sad and confused that those people were in so much denial.

On the brighter side, the next episode really starts with Tori telling "Gyrus" that she knows he loves Kodya because she's seen him LITERALLY PINING SINCE DAY ONE. AND THAT SHES A LESBIAN.

case closed, right? Kodya and Gyrus are canon and still very much in love, and Tori herself is in love with another, yet unnamed woman.

well lo and behold: s2 finale's comment section!

we finally see Kodya and Gyrus sharing their first kiss onscreen, so someone in the comment section said something like "THEY FINALLY KISSED AAAAA OUR SHIP IS SAILING" which was also my reaction and a legit reaction to it??

and since there was A LOT of dislikes (over 1,6k I believe) the op edited to say something about homophobes and the backlash was even greater

and in the answers there was actually quite a lot of people being salty because their own ship didn't sail and

first of all homophobes exist. the authors commented that they had lost about 20% of their audience when they revealed that Gyrus and Kodya were canon, and they received a lot of hate online for it.

second of all as I said it's not about ships it's about the plot. strawbarrow was always endgame and the whole story, including the romance between Kodya and Gyrus and the important role it played on the story, been planned since over a year before RoS was published. this is not your story, if you're not happy about it go read or write some fix it fanfics (it's not so bad once you get used to it). but in terms of writing strawbarrow was so well executed, I feel like being mad just because of a ship is really disrespecting the authors' intentions.

third of all, it had been made painfully clear since A LONG TIME AGO that they wouldn't end up together. clinging onto that hope was really unnecessary. they shouldn't be mad anymore, it had been over for a while now and they should have made their peace. people complaining by the time of s2 finale were really just delusional.

fourth of all, the dislikes may not all be from homophobes but if they aren't then they're from jerks. it's not because you're unhappy that things didn't go your way that you have to hate on other people because they got what they wanted and not you. that's just being mean smh,, let people enjoy the things they like in peace

I don't recall there being much discussion on this particular subject, to be honest, if at all! And, between us, even if there had been, the opportunity for a good conversation is always a positive thing in my book ;)

There's a lot of healing going on with Suzanne when she dies and comes back to life. Her disposition changes enough to inform us that it's not just her body that has been cured as much as her own confidence, her idea of herself -- her soul, if you will. It's a kind of in-your-face symbolism, I guess, where the seamless reconstitution of the body coincides with the same "rebuilding" inside. This deeply unhappy, guilty woman gets to be rid of the mark that showed the world just how "unworthy" she was, finally free of the visible evidence of her sin and shame as well as of the same sin and shame in and of themselves (regardless of whether the exterior world could ever read into that scar all that which she obviously did).

It's quite a kind touch on the part of the narrative to grant her that, also because her personality does not appear to be one very inclined to modify the significance of something of the like, something that's so deeply (and negatively) enmeshed with her sense of self. Had she kept the scar, one might wager she'd keep the emotional fracture, too; without it, she probably has forgiven herself at last, if not necessarily forgotten -- or continued to be overly concerned with it.

On the other hand, I think a lot of us Superion fans mourn the facial scar because... Well.

And yes, it can stand in contradiction with everything that Beatrice had just said immediately before Suzanne's death, but then... Does Beatrice actually believe in that or is she just trying to offer some amount of consolation to a suffering Mother Superion in those final moments, so resentful as Suzanne is of that God she is poised to meet if their creed is correct? (Also, wouldn't it be pertinent to think about how Beatrice is the one with the "medals", having excelled at pretty much anything she has put her mind to as per how Duretti summarises her feats in s1, and so contrasted with Superion as someone less "worthy" herself somehow, as Bea's doubts or insecurity come through her own words?) Does the show suggest that one should be proud of one's battle scars? Or does it not lean more towards justifying some conflict and self-sacrifice, yes, but with a more noble cause at heart than that of "fighting in God's name", as Superion understands the halobearer's function to be all the way back in 1x03?

"I understood too late the importance of my sisters" indeed...

Now, as far as headcanon territory goes, we're free to interpret as we please, of course. I recall @ingaiskanten's art where the halo scar was the only one that remained and I myself have written a little fic where it's suggested (if not spelled out) the scar might have "survived" the resurrection rather than not (and that's not to mention the post-s2 fic where Suzanne gets scarred anew... Ahem) because I suppose we all love our broken Mother Superion a bit too much and it tickles our fancy to imagine she at least gets to keep the halo scar if not the other, more visible one.

There is pertinence to her losing her markings in canon but of course we can always argue in favour of her keeping them, too -- in our fanworks if nowhere else!

Oh boy, I'm not sure. I suppose it's all in the context of the movie. I don't think there will be a lot of good feelings considering how the brothers felt about one another after not seeing each other for twenty years. Idk if Branch even has met his parents. Granted, they have never even mentioned them. I'm not sure if we will see Brozone's parents but who knows, maybe.

I don't actually have a lot of thoughts when it comes to canon Brozone parents; I think if there is another movie, it might not be so focused on the past of Branch because the third movie already was? We have such little context - virtually none - of Brozone's parents so it's really hard to consider when there is not clues to them at all that I can remember.

I'd be surprised if there is a lot of positive feelings. I'd be even more surprised if John Dory wasn't kinda pissed. Although he seems like a pretty forgiving person, idk, there's just something about that.

Our only clue to their parents is simply the implication that they haven't been around much considering John's whole thing was "four brothers is a lot of responsibility" it's pretty easy to imply that he was taking the bulk of the caretaking for them. Idk if they'd recognize Branch, who knows, they might not have actually met him even as a baby?

As for the Bruce thing - they might not even really know their son? Like, we have no idea what kind of relationship any of the bros has with their mom and dad - if any relationship at all. No one seemed too bothered that much by Bruce's name change and he's far old enough to have a family so I don't think it would be a huge talking point?

The Half Life AU? (I'm going to guess)

Rosiepuff does make an appearance! I think she's in one of the chapters of Breathe Again, I just haven't written it yet. I gotta find my notes on what happens lol but she does appear. John doesn't really have much of a relationship with her. He has mostly chalked this up to distance since she doesn't live in Bergentown. He is also rather protective and paranoid at this time when she first shows up, so you know, he's just kind of suspicious of appearances.

Moving forward, he's grateful that he does have her support with taking care of the boys but he does not let go of paranoid and suspicious thoughts of motives for quite some time. Their relationship probably gets better but only time and writing will truly tell.

In general, the boys haven't spent a TON of time with their grandmother. She doesn't live in Bergentown and it's usually only when their parents are going away for a while that they get to go to grandma's house.

With Spruce, it's pretty average? Like they don't have a special relationship or anything. He was older by the time he really got to know her and was kind of doing his own thing. He's also been old enough to kind of question why she was so nice but her child - their parent - is not that much to them. They spent more time at grandma's when John disappeared/left and that was a big turning point in Spruce's role in the family, as he was saddled with more responsibility. He usually took care of Branch during that time so she could focus on Clay and Floyd.

She's closer with Clay and Floyd. Branch is a baby so he doesn't really know much and has met her much. Spruce is a little older and holds a little resentment (as has been shown a little) which will be included with his grandmother. It's not a ton, just that niggling in the back of his mind with those quiet angry thoughts.

Clay and Floyd are young, so they don't really think that way as much. She's never told Clay he was stupid or treats him like his parents do in that area, so he likes her, although he does feel she doesn't take him seriously. He did tell her something that happened with their parents and one of his older brothers once when he was very young and nothing happened, he's pretty sure she didn't' believe him. I doubt he particularly remembers this, he was pretty young so he's got some unconscious anger and frustration (this is not un-typical of him generally) but overall, he really likes her. She's kind of safe from being called stupid and dumb.

Floyd is a quiet, gentle soul and doesn't like making noise. He likes Rosiepuff. She plays games with him and doesn't mind any tapping or humming he does. She lets him play music when they play games although she does have a competitive streak. So she's got a pretty good relationship with Floyd but he also notes right away of John's apprehension and paranoid ticks when she shows up and although he loves his grandmother, he hasn't spent nearly as much time with her as he has with John over the course of his life. There is probably no one he ends up trusting and believing more.

Branch is just a baby but loves her. She's a maternal presence that he kind of lacks with his own parents. He ends up getting more of this with Sofia, Delta and Constance but he does like her at this point. Of course, he is a baby and she adores him too.

oh wait this is such a cute question lol i'm gonna put it under a read more since it's a little big long but not really lol idk. anyway back in like july of 2018 i wrote a bunch of john wick headcanons (the ones under here are not the ones i wrote back then) but i did find one that made me laugh. clearly this was before i decided to write hmh and make tess reader's sister.

this is kind of canon tbh bc he did this with helen but i think john LOVES having pictures and videos of reader. he often watches videos of her and watches video of ronan. he keeps a picture of the two of them in a frame next to his bed--just reader and ronan. those two are his entire heart. he also has the very first picture he ever took of reader in his wallet. (yes, he totally bought a printer just so he can print out pictures of them in good quality)

i love the running gag between john and tess where they tease each other but at the end of the day if something were to happen to one of them and they called the other, they'd be there instantly. they very much have a brother-sister relationship.

john loves a routine but now with ronan, life is unpredictable. he still tries to have as much routine as possible but he's not as upset if something throws it off anymore. sometimes he likes the chaos that reader and ronan have brought to his life. it makes him feel alive lol

when john is a little more stressed or anxious, he has nightmares and talks in his sleep. reader always wakes him up and lets him know that he's okay and that he's safe. she'll stay up with him until he's feeling better, which he usually does feel better after they talk for a few minutes, then they go back to sleep. john doesn't let go of her all night though. the same goes for her. sometimes she has nightmares too and he's right there to calm her down.

john is head over heels in love with his wife, we know this. i genuinely think sometimes he's so taken aback by how beautiful she is that when she's talking, he TRIES really hard to listen but he just can't get over how beautiful she is. he'll literally stop her and have her repeat herself because he really wants to listen, he just gets distracted. reader pretends it annoys her but she secretly loves it.

on that same subject, reader could literally describe the most boring thing in the world, but john will hang on her every word anyway. he fucking LOVES that woman. every single inch of her he is so obsessed with. she is the exact same way with him. they are that really disgustingly happy and in love couple, but it's all so genuine. they truly truly love one another.

reader always has to be touching john in some way, and for him it's the same. even if it's just their feet touching or their legs pressed together when they're sitting on the couch. they find so much comfort in one another and feel so much better when they're close together.

john sometimes wanders into ronan's room and sleeps next to her crib. reader sometimes sneaks into her toddler bed and holds her. she's growing up so fast and they hate it. they want more kids but they just love the trio that they are right now.

reader is actually obsessed with how much ronan and john are alike. she loves that john just adores ronan. growing up without a dad was hard for reader, but seeing how great john is with ronan makes her heart swell and she's so grateful that john is ronan's dad. john doesn't take the dad role for granted either. he LOVES being a dad. he loves hearing ronan call for him when she wants to show him something or she needs help. the first time he ever heard her little feet on the wood floors when she was running to him, he cried.

john definitely likes to be the little spoon sometimes. he likes being held. reader likes holding him too. as perfectly as she fits in his arms, he somehow fits perfectly into hers too. he's still huge compared to her, but she nuzzles so perfectly against him.

ronan is genuinely such a weird kid. like i see her being so silly and goofy. i love the idea of her eating literally anything. she's just like john. she loves to just eat green peppers. just slices of green peppers.

ronan also is in love with every animal. she convinces (she doesn't have to try hard at all) john to get a goat. she loves her goat -- goat name is still pending at this time. she has a chicken named chicken jimmy and a VERY large bunny named john wick.

one of my favorite headcanons is that john loves to wear pajama pants. idk why i just think it's so cute. and yes, he does wear the matching set that reader got for them.

john also sometimes leaves his socks on while they have sex. reader teases him endlessly about it. he always says he just doesn't have the time to take them off. she says that she'll wait 5 secs but he still doesn't take them off. now he just leaves them on so she'll tease him.

So Mega.lop.olis is an actual mindfuck. Like the visuals are so incredibly cool but if you don't pay close attention it will seem like random and complete nonsense.

Despite everyone saying how bad it is, its actually not? I found it to be really good with a good story that goes into a pretty deep discussion about our way of living. (Again if you're paying attention!)

Now onto the other stuff (that I was screaming about last night)

They outright say my boy has mania and given how a certain scene goes and the story that goes with it it is very very deeply implied that my love suffers from the same mental illness I do which is very unfortunate but I instantly could relate to him on a deeper more understanding level. Ce.s.ar went through an episode and did some not so great things and my heart absolutely broke for him. As stated last night, the moment it started I instantly knew what was happening before it became aware to audience.

Much like my irl self and the woman who birthed me, he does not get on well with his mother. We both have very very shitty mothers (our fathers aren't in the picture. This also contributes to Ce.s.ar's moods and again my heart breaks for him because he's just so sweet and his mother is so....not...)

Pretty sure my boy cannot die, like.. ever. I yelled in the theater last night mainly because loud sound and what happened to him (he got shot in the right side of his face ;A; survived though by using the very stuff he discovered to create, to heal his face. The surgeons used it for him)

I did not like the canon love interest that was happening. Ya know despite my raging jealousy lol like just viewing it, they would have been better off as rivals(?) Granted she helps him in a huge way when someone tries to lie and say he's done (x) things and proves he is innocent but in terms of relationship all I saw was someone following him around (literally stalking him in her car with her friend) and then it's just a weird little timeskip of "oh we work together now" but doesn't say or show what she actually does?

Also what confused me is Ce.s.ar's ability to stop time. Well not so much him in general but more so...can anyone use it? Because there's a scene (blah blah canonxcanon) where she gets him to think about her to try and stop time because he seemed to have lost the ability after his big episode. It works and thats what kicks off their relationship? But then their relationship isn't really..idk concrete? Its so hard to explain but I did not connect to her and his relationship. Nothing made me root for them as a couple in the way the movie thought I might would??

I was expecting softly spoken always serious. While I got it in certain scenes from him, he's actually so playful and silly which is so fucking great for me because I too am very playful and silly. He can also be loud like his voice can be very commanding and im like.."h-h..hey ~♡'

Still wanting his praise and approval?? I really did not like that. He should have been pissed! I mean the man convicted Ce.s.ar of killing his own wife which wasn't the case. Due to Ce.s.ar's untreated bip.olar he (like me) was deemed 'too much' and sadly, unfortunately, his wife couldn't take it and she did take her own life but it was that girls father that made it look like he killed her and Ce.s.ar was convicted (but acquitted shortly after)

So I'm taking my man, from everything. My boy now, I'm going to show him all the love and compassion that he deserves and show him he's not alone, that he doesn't have to settle for just anyone who strolls into his life, I will hold him and tell him he isn't a burden, that he is lovable and so much more than the disorder that plagues him because in that regard we are the same— we sometimes do and say things without knowing we don't have the same rationality as other people do when we are struggling but thats okay, he'll have me to lean on, we'll weather it together ♡

First impression: I guess I didn’t really think much about her at first? I loved her intro and her almost breaking Narancia’s wrist + dunking on Fugo for no discernible reason was so awesome of her. But she unfortunately kinda took a back seat for the beginning parts of Vento Aureo, and I just found myself wishing there was more of her, and that she was granted more agency by the narrative.

Impression now: LOVE HER SO MUCH. After like the halfway point of VA she very quickly became a highlight of the part for me. The way she doesn’t hesitate to question what’s happening around her, chooses to become an active player instead of letting her (very justified) fear consume her, and when she not only gets a stand, but one that presents her softness as a strength and demonstrates the incredible resolve she has? So so good. I also really really love her in the Purple Haze Feedback bonus chapter, where she meets Bucciarati’s mom and ponders whether he was a good person after all, and I think she was a great perspective to frame the Giorno vs Mista fight in the flashback. I only wish she had more time in the spotlight, and that she had a more active role in the final fight (which. Sorta ties in to other criticisms I have of the part as a whole).

Favorite moment: Obvious answer, but the Notorious BIG fight. Like I said before, I think Spice Girl is a perfect stand for her, and I like that she’s sentient, which allows her to basically interact with her own conscience while she’s suddenly thrust into a life-or-death situation only she can handle. And we finally have a fight where it’s not Giorno stepping in to save everyone – because without Trish, Giorno would’ve been out of commission for good. I also just found the way she struggles, has to think on her toes, and ultimately perseveres very refreshing and human in a way that reminds me of what I loved about Jonathan in Phantom Blood. And her “arrivederci” at the end is so awesome I clap and cheer every time I see it. Again it makes me wish we had more Trish-centric arcs, because Notorious BIG was so so good and she was what made it such a highlight for me.

Idea for a story: Post-canon Trish aughhh I love you. Whether it’s immediately after Vento Aureo where Giorno isolates her from her only living friends, and she has to navigate life on her own after her world was shattered over the course of a week, or years down the road where (I think) she eventually reunites with them, has to confront Fugo now that’s he’s back, interacts with Sheila E. (so much tragic toxic foil relationship potential), and balances her stardom with her ties to the criminal underworld. I need to write more about her there’s so much to talk about with her.

Unpopular opinion: As much as I love AUs where she joins Passione in some capacity, I don’t think that would be a good or satisfying ending for her. I think she retains those relationships eventually, and she definitely wont ever be able to live a “normal” life after everything she witnessed, but the fact that she ultimately leaves Passione and does something else with her life is good, actually. It builds on her contrasts with Narancia (where he didn’t take the chance to lead a better life, and she did), and, frankly, I don’t think she deserves to have to do horrible things and fight to survive for the rest of her life.

Favorite relationship: Her and Narancia!! The parallels between them are so awesome, and I like how Narancia projects onto her at first, but eventually gets to actually know her as a person – and while they’re different in many ways, they’re still similar, and Trish grows to trust him, too (love that one of the first things she does after the body swap is to run to “Narancia” for comfort). And her friendship with Mista by the end is so fun and silly too, and quickly turns tragic with the PHF bonus chapter stuff. Let them go to the mall together please I’m begging no more horrors </3

Favorite headcanon: When she’s older and far into her music career, rumors start spreading around that she’s involved with the mafia. They’re generally treated with the same level of seriousness as the “Paul McCartney/Avril Lavigne died and was replaced with a lookalike” conspiracies. Eventually, she puts out a rock opera concept album based on a “fictional mafia story,” with a couple strangely-dressed musicians nobody can place a name to – a guitarist and a pianist – joining her usual lineup. Everyone praises her for being a meme savvy queen.

Star and Stripe (Cathleen Bate) and Small Town Hero (Lilith Grant)

So, I am a sucker for Cathleen, and there is hardly ANY content based on her time to make some content for people who also love her. I also wanted to do headcanons for my MHA oc, Lilith, so I thought, why not do both in one post?

Star and Stripe (Cathleen Bate)

•Meeting/First impression

- Cathleen most definitely comes off as a domineering person, most likely because of her rankings and the fact she literally looks like the most patriotic person you've ever seen..

- If anything, Cathleen would try to introduce herself to a hero first, mainly to get her reputation up with that hero.

- Maybe even tries to introduce you to some of the people she works with?

•Hero Work

- Cathleen tries to keep it really professional, often refusing to talk about anything other than the mission at hand. She is scared that if the mission fails, so will her reputation, and she doesn't want to loose what she has worked for.

- She most likely kicks ass and takes names (as seen from Tomura Shigaraki), and will often be reckless with her quirk. But never reckless to where it would hurt anyone else other than the villain in the process.

•Other things

- I definitely feel like she's a lesbian, idk why, but she gives off that vibe.

- Ironically calls her pilots that she works with brothers or family, DEFINITELY rough houses them while off duty. Probably likes to play a game of tag with them occasionally.

- I feel like she hates smoking, I don't know why, but I just fr feel like she does? Like even smelling cigarettes, she will get annoyed

- Drinking? I doubt she will ever drink, if she does it'll probably be just one glass behind closed doors. She has a reputation she has to keep up with, so she doesn't want to accidentally ruin it doing something stupid. If she goes out to a bar with friends, she will most likely be the person to drive and make sure everyone survives their hangovers the next morning.

Small Town Hero (Lilith Grant)

•Meeting/First impression

- Her hero outfit looks like it could eat you alive.

- she is MAJORLY introverted and will steer clear of most people during public events.

- Most likely, you would have to introduce yourself.

- NOT a good first impression. She is often VERY snappy and snarky, often having sarcastic remarks.

- Other than that, she can be enjoyable to be around due to you probably not even knowing she's there, as she stays quiet.

•Hero Work

- If you thought Cathleen was ruthless.. oh boy

- Lilith absolutely DESTORIES villains for the heck of it, often using her pent-up anger on them.

- Kind of earned a reputation for literally breaking necks of villains.

- Despite this, she is often really aware of the villains she fights, as she often kills them in battle, especially if they have killed others. If she thinks their fine, she will decide just to arrest them. Of course, they will probably earn a few broken bones if they decide to fight against her.

•Other things

- Definitely a lesbian but won't mention it.

- Scared she's not comfortable with you? If she's willing to tell you her name that isn't her hero name and even show her face around you behind closed doors, you must be doing something right.

- Addition to her being comfortable around you and showing she trusts you by those things, her harsh personality also mellows down, and she becomes a lot nicer and even playful.

- Definitely yells at kids on roblox games, it's hilarious to watch

- During fireworks she grabs one of those Bottle rockets and lights it up. It totally doesn't fall over and goes off RIGHT IN HER DIRECTION.

- Definitely cried after that because she got a lil burn from being popped in the ass by it.

- Does really great with children surprisingly..

- Accidentally sneaks up on you, this also means she Accidentally scares you because of it. Apologies because she didn't mean to.

So I read the second part of your ml analysis which is very good btw, but I have two questions: 1. you say something about how Adrien would never give up being Chat bc of freedom and stuff, but he does so in syren (kind of) and in kuro neko. I mean, it would make sense that he wouldn‘t bc of the reasons you stated, I‘m there with you, but… that‘s not canon? There are instances where he gives up his hero life bc he‘s insecure of what LB thinks of him (which tbf seems ooc but still). And second, Luka didn’t know about Mari‘s secret identity at the time when they were together, and I wouldn‘t necessarily blame him for being upset at her for not being very present during their relationship. Idk maybe I misunderstood (in which case I‘m sorry) but he only learned about that later. (Or do you mean that if he was the main love interest, he would‘ve forgiven her for acting the way she did?)

I don‘t disagree with you at all, I was just confused about those two parts

I'll be honest, the original draft has been in the work for well over a few years now. So, it was initially written before season 4. Much of my information on the episodes moving forward is either clips or second-hand information.

(Being honest though, I don't feel like I miss much doing this. A lot, and I mean ALOT of MLB is padded fluff and not even good kind. I did keep up with recaps until season 4. Season 5 to me is a complete mystery. And I don't wanna find out. What little I have seen or been told, makes me question...so much).

That said.

You do have a point.

Adrien gives up "Chat Noir" on two occasions. 1) Despereada 2) Kuro-Neko.

(I'm not counting Syren because that was a threat, not really him giving it up, or following through.)

But here's the thing. We're both in the correct here. Because while Adrien "gives up" the Alter Ego of Chat Noir - in Desperada he does not give up being a Superhero.

He is just trying on a new mask. He still wants what he's always wanted "a home" and his "home" is Ladybug. He tries to please her, by being Aspik. His "wish" hasn't changed, he's figuring out if a new mask will be able to grant it.

And in the case of Kuro-Neko, I would liken it to a corrupted soul gem. Realising that the "wish" he made when he became Chat Noir is fruitless.

I said "[Ladybug] offers him [a place to belong], while Chat Noir lends him the means to show that “true self” he can’t allow to others. He would never give up his miraculous because it would mean losing all that."

But what happens if the first statement is false? What if Ladybug no longer represents a place where he belongs? What if he no longer feels like Chat Noir is his true self? If either of those fail, then what's the point of having an Alter Ego? That's when he gives it up.

The moment his wish is proven NOT to be granted by the Magical Power Up, he gives up his Alter Ego.

OOC, yes. But it has some (?) sort of internal logic.

However, the point of that specific part was simply to say that Chat Noir is a (slightly) better-constructed protagonist. Through seasons 1-3, he remains with this internal logic. Something that Marinette does not have, even at the very beginning.

Again, I do believe Kuro Neko could have worked - but giving it the 1 episode treatment ruined any shot at redemption it could have.

As for the Luka situation

I really was trying not to go into a tangent, within a tangent about how badly they handled Luka. So I sorta jumbled a lot of stuff together and mistyped a lot. It's actually quite understandable that I didn't make myself clear, I wasn't trying to.

I was vaguely gesturing at the problem. But, if you insist:

My main point is: I don't think he should feel entitled to information about his (relatively new) girlfriend.

That entire thing was, politely said, a dick move.

With my comparison to Tokyo Mew Mew, I was trying to prove that Luka did the one thing that no Magical Girl Male Lead should EVER do. It's antithetical to everything the genre stands for.

Marinette wasn't in the wrong for keeping ANY sort of secret from him that didn't relate to their relationship. Point blank. But, he feels so justified in this, that when he becomes an Akuma, he outrights forces everyone to give up Marinette's secret.

One that I would argue IS a huge deal in regards to their relationship. She still likes Adrien. But he says he already knows that.

And, apparently, does not care for it.

Okay then, why did he care for her other secret? What could have possibly been worse in his head to get into such a huge fight over?

And in the end, it doesn't even matter cause he does find out she's Ladybug afterwards!

He broke this girl's heart just bcs he couldn't handle she wasn't being 100% honest in a, what? 2-month-old relationship?

The entire thing is messy and weird, and meanspirited. I'm not a fan.

And that should be obvious. I compared Aoyama and Ichigo in a positive light to them.

I do not ship them. I don't even think they should have been endgame. I know that's an essay/rant for another day - but to somehow be worse than the most VANILLA of Magica Girl ships, the one ship anyone will tell you isn't the one they wanted.
