just popping this in here for anyone who wants to read the article. hoped this was just a case of bad headline make ppl angy, but um. he sure did say they've got no ending planned huh.
gonna tell you the truth brother. this is not a sentence I love to hear from the writer of a show
#granted it's written up to season 4 so I doubt the upcoming season is going to be bad#BUT I still think it's a bad sign as far as where it's going to go beyond that#like... the sequel trilogy movies were okay as stand-alone individual movies#the third one was kinda ehhhhh just for the ''surprise! it was palpatine all along!!'' twist#but put all three together and they're a disjointed mess#tho I do wonder whether the no plan thing is his doing alone or if someone up the disney chain of command isn't willing to commit to one#bc it tends to be the dumb decisions are made by execs and not the people who write for and love the show they're making#but either way it's... not reassuring to hear for sure

"I'd thought for certain he'd lose consciousness, but he's still maintaining control. Not only does the Demon Slayer Sword conduct anti-magic energy in massive amounts, it absorbs the magic of all who touch it. Therefore no one should be able to wield this blade, but you are without magic and so its power courses through you. You've been dictating its ebb and flow from the beginning without even realizing it. When I used my blood to heal you, it increased the rate of that power's movement. In doing so I unintentionally removed any limitations on the sword's capabilities. Now your magic power will burst forth in a massive wave and you will become a vessel in this torrent of anti-magic. [...] I suspected you were of a certain bloodline, but I was wrong. Due to your body's mutation, the mana did not dwell within you. Simply put, you're defective. But because of it, you are able to hold the sword. You aren't anything special. Not in the slightest. And that is precisely what makes you extraordinary. Now that you're in this form, all magic is powerless against you."
- The Witch Queen, Black Clover (Ep. 63)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 30-31, 2019. Time sure flies by when you’re having fun, and it’s been 7 years since Toonami’s April fool’s day revival. And 7 years on, things continue to look up for Toonami and the anime industry overall as we continue to enjoy this great programming block that continues to inspire. And among other moments from the night, Asta unleashes a hidden power inside of him to stop Ladros, while Kirito and Eugeo enlist in a swordsman academy to level up their skills, and after a yearlong event, we finally reach the end of the Chimera Ant arc.
On Twitter, #Toonami would trend in the US alongside #BlackClover and #HunterXHunter. Dragon Ball Super, SAO, and Shippuden also trended alongside these shows, but not outright. Sword Art Online saw a character trend in Kirito as he duels Volo as he accidentally flung dirt onto him when training, and would also have to deal with the school bullies in Humbert and Raios. He also trains along with his disciple Leina and later on, he and Eugeo become disciples to Ronye and Tiese. With Kirito’s knack of “cheating” on Asuna and having girls eventually fall in love with him, no doubt lots of noticing from senpai was seen.
And on tumblr, #Toonami would trend alongside #BNHA and JoJo’s. The full list including statistics and tweet counts from the twitter app and Amr Rahmy’s Fan Screening analytics app can be seen below.
This week’s feature was a music video premiere of “Pistol Dave” by Epic Beard Men. You can check it out by clicking here.
For those who didn’t get to see it in theaters, the first My Hero Academia Film: The Two Heroes can now be purchased on Funimation’s site as well as other major anime selling retailers, with a Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital combo pack retailing for a $34.98 MSRP.
In Akira news, it looks like the live action adaptation might be going forward to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros. According to Variety, the California Film Commision will be giving Warner a $18.5 million tax credit on the condition that Californians are employed for production and the entire film is shot within the Golden State.
Arc System Works and Trigger has released a new Product Info Trailer for the upcoming Kill la Kill video Game: IF, planned for release on July 26 on all major platforms except the Xbox.

Jason DeMarco and Gill Austin joined our colleagues Paul and Sketch on the podcast on April Fool’s Day, as they talked about things going on with Toonami’s operations. You can check it out by clicking here.
And of course, the big news of the week…
Yeah, you SAO haters are glad that Toonami rekindled relationships with Aniplex now, huh? Anyways, after a few weeks of anticipation on what Megalo Box’s replacement on the schedule will be, Toonami and Aniplex has just announced this week that the hit anime horror series The Promised Neverland will be joining the better cartoon show.
Based on the manga by written by Kaiu Shirai and Illustrated by Posuka Demizu, The Promised Neverland has been one of Shonen Jump’s biggest surprise hits in recent years with over 128 chapters and counting since it began serialization in August 2016. The show’s first season was a big hit and talking point during the Winter 2019 anime season in both Japan and on streaming, so much so that Studio CloverWorks and Aniplex have already greenlighted a second season, which will premiere sometime in 2020, as well as efforts by fans and producers were made to eventually get the show on Toonami, and their wishes were granted.
On Monday, Toonami revealed that TPN will make its debut on April 13 at 12:00am Eastern/Pacific, to go along with a significant schedule shakeup by the Adult Swim scheduling department, with Dragon Ball Super, Hunter x Hunter, and Attack on Titan staying put, SAO, Black Clover, and Shippuden moving up at least one spot, and My Hero Academia, Boruto, and JoJo’s moving down at least one spot. See the full schedule below and make sure to make plans and set your DVRs if needed.
Some of the movements have be a bit jarring and can take some time to get used to for some, and let's not even get started on the outrage from JoJo's fans and the salt from SAO and Black Clover haters. According to Jason DeMarco, the schedulers wanted to switch things up based on performance metrics among other things and also told fans that “Something moving to the tail end of the premieres in the block does NOT mean we don’t care about it [and] won’t support it.” Not to mention with other acquisitions coming down the pipe and with some long running shows ending soon, the schedule churn was going to happen sooner or later. As Sam Hinke once said, Trust The Process.
As The Promised Neverland won’t be ready for another week, we’ll have another doubleheader of SAO from 12:30-1:30 am Eastern. We’re not sure if it will be a double premiere of Episodes 9 and 10, or if it will be an encore airing of Episode 8 followed by the premiere of Episode 9, we've heard conflicting reports on the matter. We’ll let you know which one once we can confirm. In addition, Hunter x Hunter will also begin the Hunter Elections arc, the last until the series goes on its “Hiatus x Hiatus”, and Naruto starts heating up wtih Boruto’s School Trip arc and Shippuden’s The Taming of Nine-Tails and Fateful Encounters Arc.
Edit 4/2 @ 12:20 am EDT: We have just confirmed with the help of our media partners at @toonamisquad that this week's SAO will showcase be the latter, with an encore of Episode 8 followed by the premiere of Episode 9. Schedule your plans and set your DVRs accordingly. And yes, the infamous Episode 10 will be held off...for now.
Edit 4/3 at 1:45 pm EDT: Turns out Toonami changed their mind and Jason DeMarco confirmed that they actually will have a doubleheader of Episodes 9 and 10, and will edit the infamous episode 10 down for broadcast appropriate standards. All i can say is get ready.
Until next week, stay gold as always.

You’ve mentioned the Barry/Caitlin/Ronnie triangle situation a couple of times. I know that’s based on interviews but do you think that information is accurate? I ask because the cast doesn’t know that much about the upcoming season. Especially, not a guest. Do you think that a triangle would have been believable? Barry never showed any interest in Caitlin romantically. How could we have jumped to him fighting for her in a triangle? He was happy for her when she married Ronnie! Seems weird.
I think the information was accurate at the time.
The actors get to talk to the writers all the time, ask questions about the character (so they can better convey the emotions the writers are going for) and where the story is going. Most of the time, the cast is told what upcoming arcs will happen. It’s only in rare instances, like on Game of Thrones, that the writers keep the actors in the dark about the plot for as long as possible. The actors on The Flash have all talked about learning spoilers way before they happen on the show, sometimes even a season ahead of time (like Grant Gustin knowing Nora would be introduced as a setup for season 5 before season 4 even began). Danielle Panabaker and Robbie Amell would most likely be told if. a love triangle was coming up. So, I have no doubt the writers told them.
The Flash cast (or any other cast I’ve ever heard of) have never lied about a storyline before. So, I really don’t think it’s something Danielle and Robbie just came up with themselves and decided to spout off. Actors can also get in huge trouble with the production team if they give away something about the plot they aren’t allowed to (and a lie about something they weren’t doing, would qualify as something they aren’t aloud to say). Danielle and Robbie has both been acting for a long time, so they had to know that.
As far as if the love triangle would be believable or a good arc, I don’t think so. I’m very happy the idea was abandoned. It was abandoned before 1x23 was written and filmed, that’s why Ronnie died in 1x23. It seems like originally, Caitlin and Ronnie didn’t get married in that episode and Ronnie didn’t die either. The love triangle would’ve been before Caitlin and Ronnie married.
Still, I don’t think it would have made sense. Barry was all about Iris throughout all of season 1. The one other girl he was remotely interested in, Linda, he dumped the moment he found out Iris might want to be with him. It would be extremely out of character for him to suddenly want to be with Caitlin. I also think it would be out of character for Caitlin to want to be with Barry when Ronnie was there. Cait’s been in love with Ronnie for years. She dreamed about being married to him. She was heartbroken when she thought he was dead. Why would Caitlin give up being with Ronnie, the man she’s loved for long, in favor of a slight crush she mostly developed on Barry because she was projecting her feelings for Ronnie onto him? (It’s canon that Caitlin projecting her feelings for Ronnie onto Barry (1x08))

5 Reasons You Should Consider Participating in NaNoWriMo
Leaves are changing colors, the air is crisp, and pumpkin spice lattes are available to the masses. Do you know what that means?
NaNoWriMo season is almost upon us!
That’s right – the nonprofit writer’s program National Novel Writing Month, commonly known as NaNoWriMo – is getting closer!
“Wait,” you might be saying, “What exactly does this mean?”
WELL! Allow me to tell you!
National Novel Writing Month is a writing challenge in November with a simple goal: write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days.
NaNo is also far more than that – it’s a community, it’s a way of life, it’s – okay, I’m probably getting ahead of myself. I’m just really passionate about the program – in fact, I even wrote my college admissions essay on the life-changing power of NaNoWriMo!
1. Having a Deadline is Incredibly Motivating!
I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but if you are, then you struggle with procrastination. A lot. If procrastination were a major, I’d have a Ph.D. in the study. Yet every year when NaNoWriMo season rolls around, I find myself eager to write and hit my daily word count goal. I’ll wake up early, go to bed late, and even get my regular work done faster to have more time to write. The NaNoWriMo website also provides you with badges as you hit specific landmarks – your first 25k, writing for 10 days in a row, etc. – which I love to try and collect throughout the month.
2. A Sense of Community!
This is one of my absolute favorite parts on NaNoWriMo – the community! Currently, the site boasts over 370,000 participants between the Young Writer’s Program and the main NaNoWriMo program! Every November, Twitter, Bookstagram, and BookTube is flooded with posts and #WIP updates for WriMos to encourage, inspire, and support one another! The NaNoWriMo website also hosts forums for writers to flock together and form a community. I found some of my best friends through their website and am still heavily involved in local events too!
That’s right – not only is there an online community, but there are also offline ones as well! Most cities host NaNoWriMo events put together by your local Municipal Liaisons – MLs for short. Depending on your location, libraries, coffee shops, and bookstores have been known to hold NaNoWriMo meetings for writers to gather and participate in word wars and chat about your book. It’s a blast!
3. No Time for Doubt!
The basis of NaNoWriMo is writing 50k in 30 days – this means you’re writing 1,667 words every day. If you’re a fast writer, this might be easier for you, but it’s definitely not for me! This will be my fifth year participating in the annual event, yet the word count still catches me every time! When you’re writing so many words per day, you don’t have time to stop and edit what you’ve written! There’s no time for writer’s block! If you want to make it to the finish line and claim sweet, sweet victory, you have to trudge through it one foot – or word – in front of the other. Eventually, the writer’s block or problem-scene will end, and it’ll become smoother sailing once more.
For those of us who struggle with self-doubt or perfectionism, this is also super helpful. I tend to go back and fret over my writing style, “is this too trope-y?”, and all the lovely fears caused by our inner editors. During NaNoWriMo, I have an excuse to say, “Nope! I’ll deal with that in December! For now, just write!”
4. Author Pep Talks!
Look, if you haven’t read the NaNoWriMo author pep talks, you’re sorely missing out. My personal favorite is Lemony Snicket’s, written entirely in satire. I crack up and get inspired every time I read it! If irony isn’t really your cup of tea, they have tons of other pep talks cataloged in their archives, and new ones are sent out during NaNo season!
Here are several of my favorite pep talks given in the past few years:
Brandon Sanderson, Erin Morgenstern, Gail Carson Levine, Holly Black, James Patterson, Jenny Han, John Green, Kate DiCamillo, Maggie Stiefvater, Marie Lu, Marissa Meyer, Meg Cabot, Neil Gaiman, Rainbow Rowell, Scott Westerfeld, Stephanie Perkins, Veronica Roth, and Lindsey Grant.
5. YOU WRITE A FREAKING NOVEL!!
There is absolutely no better feeling in the world than this:
You’ve been writing nonstop for the last 29 days. The end of your novel is in sight – you’ve been through ups and downs with your characters, you’ve cried with them (or because they refuse to stick to your outline), you’ve plowed through writer’s blocks, and you stuck with it for an entire month.
And here it is.
Stare at those words for a moment.
The End.
You’ve written a novel. A NOVEL! It might be terrible – goodness knows some of my NaNoWriMo drafts are so awful that I have to laugh at myself – but you’ve done it. You wrote a novel. You’re a novelist. A writer. An author – published or not, it doesn’t matter. You’re an author to a first draft.
“But Ally…”
“But Ally…I just don’t have the time to write a novel.”
This is by far the most common reason I hear from people for not participating in NaNoWriMo – and who can blame them? Life gets in the way!
I totally understand – but it’s only for thirty days! After the month you can go back to the sanity of having free time – but for NaNo, we buckle down, we prioritize, and we drink our caffeine by the gallon.
The best advice I ever heard for this problem comes from Chris Baty, the founder and former executive director of the program. He’s written three books about NaNoWriMo and started off the whole event in 1999.
Write in the small moments.
Can you wake up twenty minutes earlier? Go to bed ten minutes later? Write during your lunch break? Jot down snippets on the ride home from work? It’s incredible how many small moments you can find when you prioritize your writing and how much they add up!
“But Ally…doesn’t quality matter more than quantity?”
This is definitely the second most common reason I’ve heard for being nervous about participating in NaNo. The naysayers insist that writing so many words in a month creates a chaotic mess of words with no real quality in writing (no, honestly, I’ve heard someone say this).
Yes, I’ll admit – my drafts are a chaotic mess of words. They’re messy, wonderful, sometimes rambly first drafts that absolutely suck – isn’t that beautiful? First drafts are allowed to be terrible. Usually, they aren’t all too bad – there’s enough to go off of for a second draft. Then maybe a third. Then a fourth, and soon enough, you’re well on your way to getting ready to query for an agent.
Don’t believe me? Check out some of these novels that started off as NaNoWriMo projects:
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Wool by Hugh Howey (soon to be a movie!)
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (already a movie starring Robert Patterson and Reese Witherspoon!)
The Beautiful Land by Alan Averill
Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress by Marissa Meyer (all three NaNoWriMo projects went on to become best-selling books!)
That’s a pretty dang successful list right there. I think it speaks for itself – NaNoWriMo clearly doesn’t skimp on quality for quantity.
I hope this blog post has been enough to convince you to start thinking about joining NaNoWriMo! I’ll let you in on a closing secret:
Even if you don’t make it to 50k, you still have more words than you started with!
If you only manage to write 200 words during the month of November – guess what? THat’s still 200 more words than you had before NaNoWriMo! At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter how fast you write or what your word count goals are – it’s that you’re writing. And having fun. And probably losing some of your sanity but that’s beside the point.
I really, really love NaNoWriMo and hope I’ll see you on the website! If you decide to join, feel free to add me as a writing buddy to get started! I’m kineticbugsy on NaNoWriMo’s website and @natureofpages on Twitter, where I screech about word wars and character aesthetics throughout the month.
Go forth and write!
Are you thinking about participating in NaNoWriMo? Are you a veteran NaNo back for another season or a newbie? Tell me about your upcoming project or feel free to drop any questions about the annual event in the comments!
TNOP out!

Kabby Reunion Speculation
My thoughts on Kane and Abby’s upcoming reunion this season.
WHEN:
Waiting for Kabby content during this long hiatus is painful, though nothing we haven’t had to endure before. Last season we also had to wait a month to see the highly anticipated Kabby kiss in 3x09. Of course, that wait was made a little easier after already enjoying the first half of the season with them together and knowing their first kiss was guaranteed when the show returned. In this case, the lack of interaction this season has us all anxious, but I think our wait will soon be over...
As of now, there is no guarantee they will reunite in 4x09, but I think it’s highly likely now that Abby is seen in Polis in the promo images. There’s no indication if Kane is present in this episode yet as he’s not featured in the trailer or promo stills, but I have to believe that they wouldn’t bring Abby back to Polis just to coincidentally have Kane be missing. Even for non-shippers and casual viewers that irony would be inescapable and making us wait even longer for no legitimate reason would be incredibly frustrating for everyone.
I know there is a fear right now that their reunion could be overlooked, but I highly doubt that that will be the case. I think the more appropriate fear would be whether or not it gets the spotlight it deserves and whatever we do get is not overshadowed. Their relationship is far too important and its something we’ve narratively been building up towards all season and it’d be beyond thoughtless of the writers to skimp on the culmination of it. If the writers can take the time to give them conversations over a radio and reference each other in conversation, they care enough about this relationship to give it a proper reunion. They ship them too. Kabby is also literally the biggest canon romance right now and this will be their biggest reunion yet and it deserves a scene of fitting magnitude and payoff.
HOW:
In the episode trailer, Clarke says they have 6 days left before the death wave which means 4 days have passed before they get to Polis. I believe Abby and Clarke would have radioed to announce their return and allow both ends to catch each other up as they've been doing. Because of this, I imagine Kane would be expecting her return and would greatly anticipate her arrival - probably prepared and ready to greet her even. Their reunion could potentially be at/near the beginning of the episode. Luckily, I think this presents an opportunity for a less stressful reunion as there will likely be no immediate danger or major time constraints. Yes, Polis is a less than savory place to be and there’s so much to do, but I think they can be afforded a healthy moment to interact and enjoy their reunion before getting down to business.
To imagine how their reunion could go down, let’s examine some of their interaction in the past. This reunion could bear some resemblance to 3x13 in their display of concern for each other and grant us another round of Kane holding Abby’s face and caressing her hair etc. Their lives were more immediately in danger then of course, and Abby was visibly injured, but I think its something Kane would do anyway regardless of whether she’s hurt or not. Though, by contrast, this reunion should definitely be happy rather than stressful. We also saw Abby genuinely smile when she reunited with Clarke in 4x07. I definitely think she’d do the same seeing Kane again, who will no doubt smile back. Another popular theory is them repeating their reunion lines from 2x08 and I think that’d be a wonderful callback. Also, knowing the amazing hugger that he is, will more than likely bestow her with his biggest, most loving embrace. I’d love to see what Paige and Ian could do with a scene like this...
Also, not to sound demeaning in any way, but if Clarke can run up to Bellamy and give him a big hug after an absence in 2x05, then Kane and Abby - two people in a deeply committed and explicitly romantic relationship who are desperate to see each other again - should definitely be afforded the same, if not more. I’d love for a big embrace that knocks the wind out of each other followed by a kiss and maybe some loving words - possibly later in the episode if they get some moments alone. I don’t think it’ll happen here, but I’m still holding out for an “I love you” this season (x).
ABSENCES:
Paige and Ian have both missed 1 episode so far this season. If the idea of missing a minimum of 3 episodes per season is true, this only gives them a window of about 3 more episodes of interaction. With so little time left, I’d like to hope they won’t miss as many episodes especially as things are building towards the climax, but there’s no way of knowing for sure. Although they generally only interact for half of each season, less episodes this season means that at this point, no matter how many more episodes they’re in, they will have spent less than half this season together...
In terms of future interaction, I’m also holding onto the hope that 4x11 will feature some great Kabby content. Being directed by Ian and written by the Benson sisters (who seem very pro-Kabby) gives me hope. As painful as 3x13 was, the Benson’s still gave them a lot of spotlight in that episode and I think they’ll continue to do so if they can. This would of course be a really unique opportunity for Ian to helm and I wonder if knowledge of substantial Kabby content is part of the reason this episode was originally chosen for him (if that’s how it works?). Paige also tweeted to one of the Benson sisters (I can’t remember which) how much she loved that episode in particular and part of that comment could be attributed to her love and gratitude for the Kabby content they were given perhaps.
I’m very curious as to what we may see of them the rest of this season. How will Abby’s brain condition affect their relationship? Will we get any more explicitly romantic moments? Could situational strife leak its way into their relationship they have to work through or will they be as united and loving as ever? I just hope we have a lot more to look forward to and be grateful for...
We deserve to see them reunite and - if only for a handful of moments - stretch them into lifetimes in the joy of holding each other once more. To let their fear and strife melt away to nothing but immeasurable bliss. Knowing the nature of this show we could have a less conventional reunion but I still hope they are afforded some moments of joy, love and togetherness to shine as a beacon in these tough times...
Anyway, these are just some of my thoughts. No matter how their reunion happens or when, I’m just eager to see them together again!

This past Wednesday was an incredibly special day for me. Both as a book lover and a blogger. I was given the opportunity to attend Indigo’s Fall 2017 YA Preview event in Toronto. This blog post will detail the event itself and some of the books discussed, so you can have them on your radar and pre-order some of the ones you’re most excited about!
PS: If you’d like to see more photos and meet some of the other bloggers at the event, make sure to search for the hashtag #IndigoYAPreview on both Twitter and Instagram!
I arrived just at 5pm, where a bunch of fellow bloggers from the area were waiting to be let in around the entrance. We were soon invited upstairs, where a beautifully decorated room awaited us! We received the most warm welcome from the Indigo team, who had our name tags ready to go, a catered table of bagels and veggies, bubbly beverages and snacks galore! And of course, books everywhere!
We started the event with a bit of a mingling and eating session, where everyone was able to catch up and meet other bloggers! Shout out to my table-mate and amazing fellow booktuber Erika, who I hadn’t seen in ages! It’s always a pleasure to catch up with fellow book influencers.
Then we moved into sharing some brief introductions, of both the bloggers and the Indigo team conducting the events of the evening. It was great to meet the faces behind all the work we see on social media and also from the many stores around the GTA. Shout out to Ameema (Ajax), Shannon (Eaton Center), Taylor (Richmond Hill), Sydney (Eaton Center) and Teresa (Barrie), who came all the way downtown to gush about books with us!
Then….we talked about all the books! Below is a quick list with some brief notes on what you can expect this Fall season!
1. Highly Anticipated Novels:
These are the titles that everybody and their mothers can’t wait to get their hands on! I may or may not have some of these pre-ordered already…ops.
The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur – October 3, 2017
Turtles All The Way Down by John Green – October 10, 2017
Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas – September 5, 2017
Renegades by Marissa Meyer – November 7, 2017
2. No Filter:
This was my absolute favourite part of the night. We had Brandon, Chelsey, and Tina from the Indigo team explain to us about this new and exciting initiative in stores. A new table will be set up in the major store locations (others to follow in October) all about books with #NoFilter, written by smart and innovative young writers who are breaking the mold on what books can be; they are the voices of young people overcoming struggle and pushing boundaries. These books would often fall into too many categories, such as being a Young Adult book that is also a Memoir and discusses Well-Being. Where would these books go? Well, now they have a home! And in great company! A lot of these titles have been on my radar or are already on my shelves!
Love Her Wild by Atticus – Out Now
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – Out Now
Depression & Other Magic Tricks by Sabrina Benaim – Out Now
Lighter Than My Shadow by Katie Green – October 3, 2017
You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero – Out Now
Unlearn: 101 Simple Truths for a Better Life by Humble the Poet – October 31, 2017
Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav – Out Now
Stuff I’ve Been Feeling Lately by Alicia Cook – Out Now
Unlearn by Humble the Poet is due to come out in an exclusive partnership with Indigo! The cover we were shown at the event was different than the one I’ve listed, but I was not able to find the new one online. It must have been a secret…
3. Great Books for YA Explorers:
These are the titles that YA Lovers would likely really enjoy, if they’re willing to step outside of just YA fiction into essays, memoirs, humor, and other categories. I can’t give enough praise and love to ODWABDANOTWM by Scaachi Koul and Trust No Aunty by Maria Qamar.
Courage is Contagious: And Other Reasons to Be Grateful for Michelle Obama edited by Nick Haramis – October 24, 2017
Trust No Aunty by Maria Qamar – Out Now
One Day We’ll All Be Dead And None of This Will Matter by Scaachi Koul – Out Now

Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert’s Story by Debbie Tung – November 7, 2017
Big Mushy Happy Lump by Sarah Andersen – Out Now
I am specially excited for Courage is Contagious and Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. That new Bad Feminist cover is also speaking to me…

Fireblood (Frostblood Saga #2) by Elly Blake – September 12, 2017
We heard amazing praise for The Tiger’s Daughter from Angel, who vouched for this amazing Mongolian inspired fantasy queer story (not YA). The City of Brass was also compared to Uprooted by Naomi Novik, and Girls Made of Snow and Glass got amazing raves as a feminist Snow White retelling.
6. Great New Science Fiction:
Artemis by Andy Weir – November 14, 2017
Warcross by Marie Lu – September 12, 2017
The Empress by S.J. Kincaid – October 31, 2017

Leia, Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray – Out Now
Nyxia got amazing praise from Taylor, who described it as the best combination of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Ender’s Game. She also gave a shout out to Otherworld (which I’m very excited for, as a huge Jason Segel fan), adding that the story is an interesting mix of sci-fi and fantasy.
7. Great New Paranormal and Dystopia:
All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater – October 10, 2017
Monster by Michael Grant – October 17, 2017

Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel – September 5, 2017
That Inevitable Victorian Thing by E.K. Johnston – October 3, 2017
Overall I’d say a good portion of the people at the event had only amazing things to say about That Inevitable Victorian Thing, even though it doesn’t quite fall under the paranormal or dystopian categories.

These are books that deserve more praise than what they have been getting thus far! Stories were shared of people sobbing uncontrollably after reading The Mosaic. As you know, The Nowhere Girls has been on my radar for a while!

Thank you so much again to Tina and the entire Indigo team for hosting such a wonderful and fun event! It was a pleasure to be sitting among some of my favourite book bloggers.
Have you read any of these titles yet? Which ones are you excited for? Let me know in the comments below!
As always, you can also fine me on Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Happy Reading!
