I was putting coins into one of those paid parking machines earlier today and realized the machine had made the printing noise after the ticket came out and that gave me an idea: what if in an Ancient Greece modern AU the Oracle of Delphos is hidden in those machines?

I mean, if you think about it it’s the best place to hide in plain sight: it watches everyone at all times and no one pays any attention to it, and its job is to give people tickets for money so it has that as a form of communication and as a way for worshippers to give offerings. It can print out the ticket with a message on the back and no one but the person who paid for it ever has to know. And the best part is that you have no way of knowing who visited the Oracle because everyone uses those machines so everyone “speaks” to the Oracle but you have to see the back of the ticket to know if the Oracle spoke back.

It’s the perfect system. So that’s my theory: the Oracle is in the parking ticket machines. You’re welcome.

PINING PINING PINING. The locked in/snowed in trope really only matters to me deeply when there is pining attached to it, so pining wins hands down on this one.

There is something actually physical for me about moments of pining and pining-coming-to-fruition that get it exactly right, and there are tropes that lend themselves well to it (see: pretend dating) but no other tropes get me quite like pining does.
