Genderbent Gym Leaders: Viola and Grant

I’ve been drawing up some genderswaps for funsies!!! I’ve done several XY characters so far, and I plan to atleast finish up the gym leaders and some others ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Some fun facts:

- Veridian’s and Alex’s hairstyles are inspired by bug antennas

- Garnet’s pants are patterned to resemble rock/soil levels.

Oh, I suppose I can answer this one while the others are gone!

Malva is a, and I quote from many of the Gym Leaders, “raging lesbian”, and has dated all of the scientists of Team Flare before they became evil.

Wikstrom is apparently the “aromantic asexual” term, although I don’t understand what it means.

Siebold is both gay and straight, I suppose, as he is dating both Grant and Viola as of right now, and they are all so adorable together! 💜

My husband passed away a decade ago, and I haven’t remarried. But I suppose that means, as Wikstrom says, “straight as a board”.

actually I proposed AZ's brother as being the one to be in charge of the rebuild in PLZA but I also think it's possible that proto Team Flare is behind it because

There's talk about "beauty" as the main goal which is Flare's entire thing

The rebuilding of Paris in 1853 IRL also was done out of a need to "beautify" the city

In PLA we see the origins of Team Galactic but as heroes, so it's entirely possible they'll do the same thing again

Team Flare is named after solar flares, and the logo on the documents kind of looks like a stylized solar flare, with the ring being the sun and the burst being the flare

I feel Diantha, Wikstrom, and Drasna are way too young with the ages these gave, but I feel most of these are probably fairly early concepts. Furthering this, if the translation is anywhere near accurate, Malva initially looked very different, being a blonde in a white, red, and blue dress, and Clemont was a brunette (which funnily enough, his father from the anime ended up having brown hair.)

But I really like that Siebold had lunch with Lysandre and Sycamore before (separate occasions or did he kinda third wheel on a lunch date?), and how they talk about how people are surprised with the difference between the calm personality Malva has when she's reporting the news, and her violent, true personality.
