so no currygate? | Yvette | Trial 4.1 | re: Loic, Hanji
Yvette head is already thrumming with the beginnings of a headache as she enters the trial room, heaving a sigh as she takes her place at her podium.
She's sure everyone already knows as much as she does that whatever happens here is going to be a disaster.
Still, Yuriko's call for peace is enough to settle her nerves a bit, and she gives her a small nod in appreciation before she addresses Loic.
"Right...I was thinking the same thing about the mallet. It makes sense that the flat end of the pickaxe could be used to pry up the floorboard, as well. As for the tripwire..." She thinks for a second. "It's possible that the cabinet was intended to trip it, no? My guess is something went wrong with the way it collapsed - it went sideways and got caught on the bed instead of falling straight down onto the wire in a way that could've triggered the rest of the trap. And when that didn't work, our culprit ended up having to confront Sayuri while she was still conscious."
After a moment, she looks over the Hanji. For a second, her eyes fall onto the container of curry... ...but they've all been starving for a few days, so she'll let that slide. No granolagate this time.
"You're right, though. It is strange that she even bothered to go. It only took one look for me to realize it was unlikely for Ken to have written the note - you all noticed it too, right? The heart...and Sayuri. Not 'Sayuri-chan' like Ken had been calling her."
"Maybe the knife gave her a false sense of confidence, but it could still be valuable in a different way. Hanji said it already, right? The head injury was the only fatal blow, in this theory from the meat mallet. Aside from that, the only other injuries she sustained were relatively small...bruises and cuts, likely from the snow globes based on the fact that all these areas were damp. In other words, the blood on the knife is completely unaccounted for."
She pauses and glances off to the side.
"You all get what I'm saying here, right?"

Michelangelo's Pietà, St Peter's Basilica (1498–99)
It's the birthday of Michelangelo, born in the village of Caprese, Italy March 6, 1475. His first major work of art was the Pietà, a marble statue of the Madonna holding the dead Christ in her arms. The figures were perfectly balanced and carved from a single block of marble.
The story was that, after the statue had been put on display, Michelangelo went to see it and overheard a crowd of people praising its beauty. Someone asked who had made it and another replied that it was il Gobbo, from Milan. That night Michelangelo locked himself in with the statue and carved an inscription on the Madonna's robe that reads "Michelangelo Buonarroti the Florentine made this."
It was the only work he ever signed.

🚨 GRANOLAGATE 🚨

I’m surprised by how much you like Bre. I find that most of the fandom underrates her and uses granolagate as a thing against her.
The panel made her out to be the underdog throughout the whole competition (four bottom twos is just excessive, who do they think she is? Whitney?) but I thought she did remarkably well overall, and I was okay with her making it Top 3. Also, Granolagate... I will not condone Bre’s childishness, but I am a firm believer in explaining situations rather than justifying them. They were overseas, the competition had been going on for a month, and everyone was high-key stressed. Bre was 19 and apart from Nik, the company in the house could be rather draining. It doesn’t mean what she did was right, but people are extremely harsh on her, when I can guarantee a lot of us would have cracked in many different ways in the same circumstances. She apologised for the incident at later points publically (Cycle 5 reunion and Cycle 8 photoshoot), and I think she grew from the experience, and I think credit should be given when credit is due. I think sometimes the fandom can have lapses of judgement where they let personality sway their opinions too much, and Bre was definitely a strong contender in her own right. Thanks for the question! x

18 Cycle 5
Oh Cycle 5 what you could have been. What you almost had.
Cycle 5 managed to produce one of the most successful models in history (Miss Bre) so it has that going for it. It also managed to make a reality star out of Lisa.
And it took the most plain looking girl and convinced the world she was a model.
(Really Tyra)
(She does look really brooke shields circa ‘nothing gets between me and my calvins’ here. though i don’t know if that’s actually her)
Cycle 5 had great photoshoot concepts but, executed poorly. It had great models but, mistreated by judges.
I mean Bre has a stellar portfolio but the panel really hated it and by default the fans fell for it.
Lisa probably should have won but, didn’t make top 5.
This panel saw the changing in judges from the very entertaining Janice D. To the plain Twiggy. Personally whiole Twiggy was much more gentle to watch and her kindness towards the other judges as well as the girls was great to see I felt that she was slightly short. Granted most of her seasons are ranked higher than most other seasons and almost all of janice seasons have bottomed out for me I find I liked Janice more.
She was brash but, she treated these girls like models. She treated them the way the modeling industry treated her and it gave a sense of realness where as Twiggy treated them like reality show contestants.
I don’t hate cycle 5 but, it’s not great either. I mean they had some wonderful moments like this
Lisa made this cycle fantastic. She caused so many problems by being weird as fuck and it was a shame when she left.
The granolagate incident was so ridiculous. I loved how Bre rightfully called out Kim for being an instigator and I loved that she learned her lesson.
This cycle had all the potential but sort of fell flat. It just seemed the panel was more entertaining than the photoshoots and that should never be the case. Weak talent aside from Nik, Lisa, and Bre, lame photoshoots, stupid commercials, and all around a bitter group of ladies just sort of made this cycle go ‘womp womp’ for me.
