I actually never stop thinking about Eclipse and Lunar. I'm constantly at some point or another thinking about how entwined these characters are and the emotional impacts that they have on one another.

For Lunar, Eclipse plays such a vital role in the way he's shaped out to be. He's their creator, the first family they ever had, the first person to hurt and mistreat them. Eclipse had solidified Lunar's place so quickly upon being brought to the living world outside the mindscape. Lunar was Eclipse's brother and that's all he knew at the time, and he loved Eclipse. He knew his brother could be rotten and that he was capable of harm, yet still defended him. Still adamantly stood by his side those first few weeks.

He was willing to hurt and do whatever it was needed to assist his brother, and yea, maybe with a little back sass, but it wasn't hard to see that he cared. That Eclipse's opinion meant so much to him.

I also eat at the knowledge how much Lunar's betrayal affected Eclipse and how much the anger and hurt carries. The snippets of inner turmoil we get when he does things like upset or hurt Lunar. The moments of realization and regret and guilt. (Now obviously I wanna clarify that just cause he felt bad for his actions, does not justify them. Eclipse was still an abuser. His treatment of Lunar was abuse. There is no denying that. This said I continue!)

Lunar's death also felt so much more personal than most other actions than when Eclipse had the star. No, scratch that, Eclipse hunting Lunar down to play an awful game of cat and mouse felt incredibly personal. It truly seemed to be the final get back. Finally a revenge for Lunar's betrayal. Despite Lunar running away, so desperately trying to detach himself from the whole situation that was at hand.

Even after this. Even after Eclipse's death and Lunar's return. They're so impactful on one another. After Ruin brings Eclipse back, Eclipse's first plan is to take and use Lunar as a battery. Then of course the whole arc of Lunar killing Eclipse. The quiet acceptance from Lunar to just, shove it all down. To try and be ok with this. Despite never having a true apology, nothing truly to grasp onto as any form of understanding (that is not the word I'm thinking of but I've been staring at this post for 5 minutes trying to remember the word).

Despite all this aswell! Shoving it down, despite being the thing everyone clearly wants him to do! What clearly the astrals keep suggesting! It still rounds about back to Eclipse. After everything, all the hurt, all the pain of it. After finally feeling some disconnect from his abuser, Eclipse still manages to hurt him in some way! He's still gotta talk to and find a way to accept what had happened!

I can't go on about this for too much longer as I've only been awake for about an hour but hdbdbxhdbhxd- guys --- they're brothers and I love their dynamic and I hope we get more of them in the future. I hope they continue to heal and grow. I hope that bridge that was burnt so long ago can be rebuilt. I hope at some point another they can be friends, maybe even brothers again someday.

while LS!Sam and ES!Dean are off gazing lovingly into each other's eyes or whatever, LS!Dean and ES!Sam are so uncomfortable-sticky-sick with jealousy that they end up migrating to the kitchen, where they spend hours at a time, sometimes talking sometimes not.

dean will make him lunch or snacks or crack him a beer ('if you're even old enough to drink, how old are you anyway, squirt?' 'squirt, god, what is this, 1950? i'm 22, jerk.') and ES!Sam tries to gently sneak info about the future out of dean.

dean has almost twenty years on this kid. he can't stop looking at sam's wet little mouth and feels like an old perv for it, but what else can he do about it? he thinks it's mostly unrequited lust (feeling sam's bicep and being able to wrap an entire hand around it, looking up into his little brother's eyes and sam can't even look down at him without looking away shyly, god), but when he's pulling a pizza out of the oven, he catches ES!Sam looking away sharply, blush crawling up his neck and holy shit--

that little skeeze! he was totally checking out dean's ass! everything dean makes now has to be baked, or the pans mysteriously move to the bottom cabinets and he has to bend over to get them out. he wears his best jeans and his most worn shirts or wifebeaters and takes sammy out to the garage so they can talk there while he eats food dean made and dean can really make a show of it--flexing and hauling things and bending over the engine. and who can blame sam if he has to lean over and touch? who can say dean's wrong if sam's sitting in the chair in the kitchen and his hair is mussed from sleep and his eyes are dazed and he has a smear of maple syrup at the corner of his mouth from pancakes dean made for him, and dean has to wipe it away with his thumb and suck it into his own mouth?

or reverse, ES!Dean pretending that he needs lore help so LS!Sam leans over him in the library chair, his broad chest to Dean's back, his breath on Dean's ear, his hair tickling his neck. ES!Sam asking LS!Dean questions about the armory so he can see his eyes light up, so he can watch his shoulders as he hauls something heavy, deadly and purposeful and graceful.

and oof. a dean fight would be brutal. both verbally and physically. LS!Dean would be blaming all of his past mistakes on ES!Dean (maybe if you'd loved him right, he would've stayed. maybe if you weren't such a needy piece of shit, you could've stopped him. maybe if you were stronger, you could stop what's coming. sam needs someone better than you, someone who won't fuck up.) whereas ES!Dean sees all the pockmarks in LS!Sam and knows somehow it must be LS!Dean's fault (who did that to him? who let that happen? you're talking about being strong, but you're weak. pathetic. talk about being a big man but you're just as fucking broken. i would've never let that happen, i would've never let anyone get in fifty fucking miles of him--our job is to protect sammy, all costs. i would've rather died). they keep trying to prove how much better they are, how much more they can provide.

but any way you cut it, they just soak up each other's attention and anger because it's so reassuring to know that all versions of sam's big brother love him, will do anything for him; that sam chooses dean--any dean, every dean, in every form. that all versions of your brother is your version, he will always belong to you.

but god, the jealousy!!!! he's mine!!!! petulant and childish and grown and desperate and everything in between!!!!!

Hi I saw this thing that @theinfamousmaybelle (I HOPE ITS OKAY I TAGGED YOU) was doing about saying something nice about each of the characters in TSBS on your list every day in December and I wanted to join!!!

EARTH!!!! You all I cannot tell you how much I absolutely ADORE Earth. I went on an angry tangent in my last post so I'm trying to make this lighter and nice >:3

Earth is first and foremost so so p r e t t y (/p)

Like every piece of fanart I have ever seen about her is just absolutely stunning. She looks like a freaking model and she is so gorgeous. Especially like, human fanart where they make her BIPOC with Vitiligo? SO PRETTY. Her model is so pretty too, I love all of her outfits, they're honestly how I dress some days so it's so silly to put on a outfit and be like OMG I LOOK LIKE EARTH /POS

Her voice is so sweet and comforting to me, especially as a kid growing up with a lisp seeing characters who have one is so amazing to me. While hers has faded a bit throughout Earth's changes as a character, she's still such an icon and definitely someone who makes me feel less self conscious about my own voice.

Now onto her character itself

Earth's lore is so so incredible. I'm still working on getting through it all, because i'm getting back into this fandom after quite a while. I don't know most of her original lore but I'm mostly up to date on the current lore.

Earth is such an amazing representation of so many issues, especially the issues of daughters in families with generational trauma. (Coming from a AFAB in a family with similar issues. Minus the magic. and the murder.)

Earth's need to please her father goes on for so long, until she finally realizes that he didn't even *want* her. He never cared about her, he just wanted something from her. and Oh My Gods that hurt.

(Can you tell I kin her yet)

Earth tries to help everyone, she acts as a therapist for so long, helping even people who have hurt her and her family with their issues from a view as unbiased as she can get. She tries to help lunar, even when he's being an absolute DICK, and that ends with her getting hurt, but she is trying her best. She tries to support her brothers, giving her own time and energy to caring for Sun when nearly everyone else leaves. She takes so much onto her back and puts so much pressure on herself because nobody else is doing it.

Her relationships with other characters is so amazing too because like. Her and Monty? SO WHOLESOME I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

Monty and Earth are both traumatized, they both have issues, but she is still there for them, and vice versa. They both support and care for each other, raising their daughter together (daisy the iconic bunny).

Earth is still kind and gentle with Eclipse, calling him her friend and trying her very best to get him to open up to her.

Earth and Sun are probably the closest, with the two of them taking turns supporting each other as they need. They're both very broken, and are the ones struggling with Nexus's death the most, but they're sticking together through it.

Earth and Moon are so silly together and I love them, Moon is so gentle with her, even when it isn't really in his nature, but he's trying to be his best for her because he knows that she deserves that.

Solar feels like the oldest of the brothers, and Earth definitely looks up to him which is so sweet. He may have issues with his own emotions and portraying them, but he does care about her, and she knows that.

Earth and Lunar may have their issues now, but as a pair they are such an adorable sibling dynamic. They play games together and Earth supports him just like she does everyone else, even when lunar is struggling and pulling away from her, because at their base they are still siblings and they will still be there for each other. And lunar describes her as the most important person to them.

Earth and Nebula my beloved. We don't get to see a lot of them, I imagine it's hard as fuck playing two different characters talking to each other, especially with such different personalities, but Kat does it so well! Nebula is the type where you can tell she hasn't had many, if any friends. She seems to get talked down to by a lot of the Astrals, just a tool to go do tasks for Taurus and Aries (I think?). But here's Earth who welcomes her into her life and invites her to hang out, tries to get her to open up, on her own time, doesn't pressure her, it's so so amazing.

Earth with her Niece and Nephew is so cute, she's made to be a caretaker so seeing her with Jack and Dazzle is adorable because Dazzle looks up to her as another girl in the family, I love imagining Earth doing Dazzle's hair and getting her all dressed up, getting to do like. Basic Girl things. Because regardless of gender stereotypes, Dazzle having another girl in the family is so important. Dazzle is at her core a pretty feminine person, she likes dress up and playing games and she's so precious, she reminds me of myself a lot as a kid. And of course she also knows how to make a rusty nail gun with Jack and she likes playing in the mud and doing things that aren't "Girly" by sexist stereotypes, but having another girl in the family she can look up to and do those things with? So adorable. I love them <33333

Earth in general is such an amazing character and as a person who struggles a lot with balancing femininity and masculinity as a genderfluid person, having fem rep in a fandom I love as much as LAES is so so amazing. She's such a girlboss and she has physically punched a god (by his permission but still) actually pushing him around, which people don't talk about enough I think.

She deserves none of the hate she gets because she is such a beautiful example of PTSD, being a daughter, being a victim of manipulation and @\bus3, chronic pain, mental illness, healthy communication and relationships, and doing what you love.

Earth Deserves Better.

kim yoosung thoughts...

yoosung with a round, soft face and acne scars.... little freckles around his neck from the days he used to spend outside in his childhood. heavy eyebags that still don't hide the bright shade of his eyes. yoosung with some chub. yoosung rarely wearing socks that match. letting his hair grow out just until the roots are more obvious, so he goes from using hair clips to hair bands to hair-ties. yoosung using stickers to bookmark his pages (not stuck onto the pages, don't worry). yoosung using watermelon lip balm on the days he has to go to class. yoosung with smudged-ink doodles all over his hands and arms from when he gets bored in class (and some by friends sitting next to him). yoosung having the tendency to hum and murmur in his sleep -- usually about LOLOL or classes. yoosung cutting open his toothpaste when it starts to run out, so none of it is wasted. soft hands, perfectly cut nails which he sometimes draws in with highlighter. scent of baby powder and detergent and a little bit of his own sweat and exhaustion and just a little bit of baby cologne (which he dabs, just a bit, in the small of his neck). yoosung snorting when he laughs and trying to hide it afterwards by covering his face. yoosung....YOOSUNG!!!!!!!!!! GRAHHHHH

okay alright. onto uhhHHHH. DO i have thoughts about it. AM i coherent. here for now until my brain reboots (i was looking up paper girls trailers like WAS this show actually good for like ten minutes and it threw me off)--this shall be an all over the place ask by the way--: jorat is SO INTERESTING i am FOAMING AT THE MOUTH. CHOMPING AT THE BIT TO GET ENOUGH DETAILS ABOUT THIS COUNTRY TO ANALYZE THE EVERYTHING. the respect for the horses!!! FIREBLOODS!!!! their honor code (and all the ways that the antagonists continue to perform offenses against it)!!!! the environment!!! the SKIN MARKINGS!!!! just GRAHHHHH. AND THEY HAVE AN ENTIRE TRANS FESTIVAL. obviously the country is not w/o its prejudices (read: the giant ass xenophobia signs and also the assholes that are oreth's family regardless of who owns who) but it is so interesting to just!!! just the everything it's just everything. the things of idorra and thorra and mares and stallions and the respect you give to people and how everything is based on the herd mindset: what you protect, you own, and all that.

ALSO- STAR! OF CO U R S E HE'S DORNA'S CHILD LMAO. oh man. sad i don't get to see him as a main character taking up more space right now but also yk janel very much takes up the role of that specific kind of character... OH AND! kihrin understanding the gender thing, associating it back with his own culture, when janel finds out who father zajhera was.... What a Scene. i find myself comparing it to jess and morgan sometimes and then other times not... very similar character shapes, but the dynamic is shifted to the left.

Literally! I heard about Jorat and immediately went I need to know everything ever about this country. I love that it's not perfect. It both has these lovely beliefs about gender and has questionable practices alongside that. I made a shitpost about the inclusive misogyny--because it's still a divided country based on gender, it's your internal gender identity that matters, not your physical sex. Which!! Is a fascinating idea!

There is a place in fiction for idyllic, escapist places, but sometimes you want to explore something imperfect but different. To have something interesting and new to question and think through and explore. Jorat wasn't made to be a fantasy it was made to be a place in a fantasy, you know? And places aren't perfect. Jorat is both victim of being misunderstood and disrespected and perpetrator of strict rules and xenophobia against the other countries' ways of life.

and the festival of turning leaves!! in exchange for some community service for a while Galava will literally change your physical sex for you, and not only does this exist but it's cherished. It is a valued and beloved festival amongst the joratese. Jorat I love you. Not in spite of your imperfections, but because of them. Because you are not a perfect place you are a real place with real problems and complexity. Even though I don't want to participate in the idorra/thudaje system it's so fun to ponder

Also shout out to Star! what a fun character even if he's not around very much. Janel does absolutely take up the genderqueer character mantel valiantly, but I wouldn't have complained about having another. Though their are some discussions of gender to do with other characters (specifically Tereath).

it's hard to conceptualize that Father Zajhera scene at first (at least for me) because like...we've just met Janel fully, but thinking back. Holy FUCK. Imagine. The man who saved you and personally attended to you for YEARS after a horribly traumatic incident. a kindly mentor who literally treated your MIND. and he turns out to be RELOS VAR??? that is fucked beyond belief my god...would be very curious to hear more about this jess/morgan comparison though!
