I am working on the next post of Mechi’s story, I promise, it’s just taking a long time thanks to some very unhelpful housemates… pictures attached 🙄

I had to draw my RT Miitopia-inspired Rimworld colony again because I love them and will miss them.
After the Biotech update for Rimworld, my computer wouldn’t even open the game for a long time. Now it does open the game, but all my old save files and presets are unsalvageable. Unfortunately, my RT Miitopia/Gracie Rimworld game is kaput, and I’ll have to start everything all over again. That’s alright, new beginnings are exciting, but I’m going to miss all the fun stuff I already had started, haha.
Let’s just imagine that the gang lived happily ever after with all their friends and animals. They’re a tough bunch. They can handle whatever the Rimworld throws at them.

Bold to start a fight when you're immediately postpartum, you're relying on your opponent's (already very limited) hospitality to keep you and your new baby alive, and you have a horrendous melee ability.
Brown's religion is a nudist, cannibal, high-life cult. Not sure it'll be the best environment for Wombat to grow up in, tbh, and it certainly isn't helping Brown recover any faster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A fight on one side, a shuttle crash on the other, a deathly ill newborn baby lingering in the back of his mind... What a day for poor Kwahu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sole survivor of the shuttle crash was an Avaloi named Yuki. She's very pretty and looks to be healing up fast, thanks to Kwahu's expert care. Hopefully she'll leave quickly, as her genetic dependency on alcohol might be tricky to manage in a colony that focuses all its beverage-production on coffee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, once Randy starts he just doesn't stop, so he decided the Jones boys needed a nice psychic drone on top of everything else. Very rude.

Do all of your rimworld playthroughs take place in the same universe? Or are they all their own separate little rimworld instances?
I like to imagine they're all happening in the same universe, yeah! On different planets separated by a seemingly untraversable void of space, sure, but it's the same galaxy! Maybe someday they'll bump into each other. Who knows? I think there would be plenty of opportunities for fun shenanigans with Cross-Colony interactions.
Tumblr media
For example, Mechi and Vasso coming to blows over how coffee should be prepared, or Kwahu and Fafo gushing about each other's bionics!
Tumblr media
Perhaps the characters from The Animist Alliance, who never had any dealings with the void (because the Anomaly DLC wasn't a thing yet), would have difficulty coming to grips with the idea of adopting an eldritch clone of yourself as a twin!
Tumblr media
I bet even Evil Ghost Triplet, Lansa, would do his best to convince Kaz to put his Resurrect psycast to "good" use so that Lansa can come back for reveeeenge!! 😈 (Kaz would decline on the grounds that Lansa isn't worth sacrificing a finger for)

It's finally time to get the Jones Boys back to 100% matching bionics!! Woohoo!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kwahu immediately settled back in the sauna—presumably to admire his shiny new leg—for a few hours until he was rudely interrupted by...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah! All hands on deck!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, never mind. We're good. Convenient trade caravan is convenient.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to end the day, the twins not only have matching bionics, but matching headgear as well!! I will miss the airwire headsets, but we must all make sacrifices in the name of progress...

I assume it's not easy coming to terms with the fact that you're not the person you thought you were and are, in fact, only a few hours old and also a clone. Poor Mechi II (Mechii?).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Makya "Mechi" Jones and his newly acquired "twin", Kwahu Jones! They're gonna get along great, and I'm sure nothing bad will happen because of this unexpected duplication. No siree, no issues here in the foreseeable future. Just lovely twin shenanigans. 😅

A naked Taukai lady showed up bragging about how she's a "DaRk ScHoLaR" and can make fleshbeasts. Must suck to be naked and ugly and not even have "being the smartest person in the colony" as your redeeming feature.
We still let her stay. We can probably take her out if it comes down to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but Kwahu is perfect, and I love him <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, he's perfect enough that we decided to finally address the Jones boys' whining that they don't have a Moral Guide. Welcome to your new job, Kwahu!

Nothing too exciting or noteworthy is happening to the Jones boys today...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alfihar (who joined us a while back but wasn't particularly noteworthy) is actually pretty dang good at melee combat, so he tanked the War Queen with shocking ease!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THREE CHEERS FOR ALFIHAR!!
We're so close to getting an android I can almost taste it!!!

Our first anomalous entity has appeared while Mechi is deconstructing ruins! Fortunately, he's pretty handy with that biocoded autopistol he carries, but that sightstealer scream will probably haunt his dreams for a long time yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We can do cool anomaly research now! Huzzah!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor Atom needed some patching up after the battle with the sightstealer, but Mechi was quick on the scene to administer some first aid and probably coo affectionately over his robot baby.
Tumblr media
We also captured the sightstealer, but we don't have a proper room for it yet, so it hangs out in the dining room to "relax socially" with Mechi. To each their own, I guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mechi's tall, slim build doesn't seem suited for mining, but if he wants steel for band nodes and mechanoids, he'll have to put up with it anyway. I think he should tie his hair back, wear eye protection, and maybe put on some shoes, too, but I suppose there's no such thing as an OSHA violation on the Rim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mechi handles impending social interactions about as well as I do...

I can’t stop thinking about my trend of always having at least one starter colonist with long black hair, so now I have to know…

Note
Your stories make me want to play more n more interesting forms of Rimworld. I’m pretty scared to leave peaceful mode most of the time though! I’m a sandboxier, not a ‘risk the lives of these characters I’m attached to’-er. How do you manage the power creep of enemies with so few colonists (for the mechinator story)?
Tumblr media
Gotta be honest, I do panic a little bit when I get big raids, or mech raids, or cultist chanters or whatnot. I often just pause the game and make some tea or snuggle my cats for a bit before I come back and try to think of the best ways to deal with the situation without getting my best mechanitor bois killed in the process.
The killbox has definitely helped despite its architect being a bit of an idiot (that's me, by the way), and it's nice to know I can throw the mechs at any baddies as a distraction and resurrect them later if things go sideways.
Also, I'm comforted in the knowledge that I can call XiaoLiang from Arwell if I need a convenient Man-In-Black; he's only, like, a half day's walk away and (so far) doesn't seem to mind being summoned on a whim.
I confess I have reloaded a save now and then, but it's a single-player game, and in the end, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you're enjoying yourself. My favourite difficulty setting is "Adventure Story" because it has enough danger to make for interesting plots and drama, but also plenty of room for character development and silly colonist interactions.

Come on, Mechi. Six days isn't thaaat bad. What could possibly go wrong in just six measly little days?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... Oh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That bitch!!!
Mechi does not take kindly to people being rough with his precious mechanoids, and if Katrin had survived long enough for capture, he might have even started down a path similar to the torture-ridden track that The Children of Ecthuctu walked...
Tumblr media
As it stands, he got her in one shot and left her for the void. Goodbye, Katrin. A swift death was too kind for you. Luckily Rocket can be brought back, but Mechi probably hates people that teensy bit more now.

Against all odds, asexual Buckeye and reduced-fertility-gene Magic Man have managed to make a baby! However, because Buckeye is Animakin, she needs to plant the baby in soil... And there is no soil in the ocular forest where Monster's Basin is. Only red sand and red dirt and other nasty red stuff, which apparently doesn't count.
So, we have unexpectedly had to up and move in order to give this new baby the best possible chance of survival! We were hoping to be able to prepare a bit more first, but desperate times call for desperate measures. We'll leave everything behind for the sake of one of our own if we must.
However, moving means it's time for another (rather rushed, I'm afraid) colony tour! Presenting: Monster's Basin!!
Tumblr media
Here's the whole thing from above. If I had to describe it in one word, I would say "red".
Tumblr media
Here is the central room, the kitchen/dining/ritual room. Next to it, we have two bathrooms and our freezer. Magic Man is already packing some of our human leather kneel sheets, as you can see.
Tumblr media
Some bedrooms: Top left is Vasso and Laursen's room, top right is Euclid and Socks' room, bottom left is Dire Wolf and Pro (and formerly Bella's) room, and bottom left is Magic Man, Buckeye, and Dopey the razorjack's bedroom.
We also have a small, utilitarian hospital.
Tumblr media
Up above the bedrooms and the main room are our dinosaur museum (we can't go without a dinosaur museum) and our research laboratory. Also a better view of the freezer.
Tumblr media
Our farms and a huge stack of red bricks that we'll never get to use.
Tumblr media
Here's a nutrient-paste barn that we got from a prefab some traders sold us. Mostly so we could see what it was, but our animals seemed to appreciate it.
Tumblr media
Bella's room that she was given when she grew up into an adult, the sauna, and Blackdragon, Duchess, and Night Stalker's room.
Tumblr media
The wardrobe, the chemfuel room, the miscellaneous devices room, the hot spring, and the small place where we attempted to plant Buckeye's sapling child before we realised it didn't work in this biome.
Tumblr media
Finally, our animal pen/archery range. We were very fond of the moose named All-Powerful (she fell out of the sky), but we'll probably release her into the wild (along with a self-tamed hare and three baby wolfchickens some traders gave us) to help us conserve food on our abrupt journey.
And that concludes the tour of Monster's Basin! I wonder where our caravan will take us. Hopefully, somewhere with plenty of fertile soil for a growing sapling child...

The Cult has spoken!! Vance is coming to Loyalty's Meander. Hooray!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very nice, very nice. The muttonchops are a strong choice, I like it.
I can never decide if Vasso is aware that he's the world's most unintimidating teeny-tiny cult leader or if he just hasn't registered that he's short because he's used to being around Laursen, who is stupid tall, which makes everybody look short in comparison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This suits him better, anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rick's Fiends and The Defilers arrived at the same time as a very unfortunate trade caravan, so the three of them got into a massive fight in one corner of the map far away from our colony. In fact, only poor Cecil the housekeeper cat was injured when he took a stray bullet to the leg.
Tumblr media
That brings us to colonist number fourteen, I believe! Wow! Welcome to the colony, Vance. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Euclid, that tea is for the psychite-dependant biliog colonis— Oh, who cares? Go ahead. There's plenty to share.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Tale of Tea and Tuques. Nothing can stop Euclid from being the best tailor in the rim, not even a mental-break-induced addiction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nobody likes this place
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry you had to become a toddler in a place like this, Bluegum. Hopefully we can figure something out soon.
Tumblr media
Crowded around a fire in our sleeping bags and steel cribs, huddling up with the animals for warmth... What a life.
Now, as I'm posting this, we've still got an hour-and-a-bit on the last poll about the end of the series, but I noticed some people in the comments with some suggestions, so I'm making a new poll here just to gauge people's thoughts:
Thank you for your input! <3

Got bored waiting for poll results and decided to see if Sims 3 works on my laptop. It does! Behold, Mechi à la Sims 3.
He lives in Lunar Lakes because it's another planet, just like the rim world he occupies in RimWorld. I've never played in Lunar Lakes before. I tend to stick with Riverview, Moonlight Falls, or Dragon Valley. Looking forward to seeing what Lunar Lakes is like!
Sims 3 Mechi's traits are:
Unflirty (because asexual)
Loner (because recluse)
Genius (because level 19 intellect)
Computer Whiz (see above)
Handy (because mechanitor)
He has the lifetime wish "The Tinkerer", which will require him to reach the max level of the handiness and logic skills, both things that should be easy as pie for a clever boy like him <3
He wants to join the Ghost Hunter career, which I suppose is appropriate for someone so invested in studying the void, and perhaps it'll be a good way for him to earn some money to pursue a science or technology degree at university later. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
