cooking some egregious dipford. my spouse INSISTS there is an audience for such things.

the story is told through a combination of journal entries, letters, and answering machine messages. an alternate timeline where the mystery twins were separated -- their parents having divorced, mabel lives with their dad in seattle and dipper is studying with ford. stan lost the mystery shack and is exiled to a retirement community that he hates, and ford is an arrogant jackass that's so full of himself he doesn't even realize he's falling into an incredibly obvious trap set by a particularly rancid triangle. he's been mentoring dipper for 4 years, and both of them are also working to rid gravity falls of bill's essence for good.

this thing is gonna have a ... lot. we have dipford as a primary feature here, but importantly: bipford as well. extremely heavily implied unrequited pinecest is also a driving force of this narrative, and unrequited stancest too because everyone in this story is miserable and nobody is coping.

i'm putting out this feeler to gauge interest. the first chapter is already written and most of the second one is as well. no matter what i'm gonna write this, i kinda need to see how it ends because right now i don't know and it's really awful for everybody, but if there's enough interest i'll post it here. sound off with some likes if this is the kind of tragic angst bucket you'd like to wallow in with me.

is there like a style name for the really thin-lined kind of wronkly-lookin' art style i've been seeing around lately (mostly from artists in their late teens/early 20s)?

it tends toward the realistic w/ facial proportions but simplifies the eyes and mouth down to sometimes just basic shapes. lots of extra age lines under the eyes and around the mouth but gets more simplified and gestural as you radiate out from the face. hands and fingers are usually blocky. if there is color it's usually washed out and non-representational. two questions 1) does anyone know what tf im talking about? and 2) where is this style coming from like what is influencing this sudden boom?

See, this is what I'm talking about when I say Gravity Falls is an overrated piece of shit ... I was just (trying) to tolerate watching a presumably cis dude in a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared Tshirt doing a video essay on I Saw The TV Glow and of course this prompted him to start talking about dark/weird tv shows and of course he's just listing off all these cartoons (including My Little Pony) for some reason, but then he immediately goes like: "I think I'd describe Gravity Falls as my perfect equivalent to The Pink Opaque" or just like... Immediately saying something stupid along those lines and playing clips of Gravity Falls as he's doing that, but like...

You shouldn't even be bringing up disney/kids cartoons right now... Buffy or Charmed or Xena or something would be more fitting...

If you absolutely had to name drop a surreal/creepy/dark children's/disney cartoon as being "the perfect equivalent to The Pink Opaque"... Star vs. The Forces of Evil is literally right the fuck there and it's not going anywhere? Why the fuck are y'all sleeping on it and what the fuck are you doing? It certainly for sure would've made a better comparison considering Amber Benson, who played Tara on Buffy, at least fucking co-wrote half of all the companion books for svtfoe...Not to mention we have Marco Diaz, not to mention the Trans Marco Theory, not to fucking mention this:

i don't know grabbity balls but from what i gather they seem to have finally made that illuminati triangle illuminaughty with that dilf like they were always supposed to. i don't even go here and i saw the writing on the wall on this one. or the thousands of multicoloured sticky hands on the wall. alex hirsch didn't exactly bury the lede on this one but i'm glad it's all out in the slutty open now and i'm pleased the gf fellows are spiffing it. as they say
