She has not just been raped and murdered, she was very much tortured and brutalized like Nirbhaya. It is all over the Bengali news. I don't understand why no one is talking about this.
A 2nd year Respiratory Medicine in a well known government medical college in Kolkata, West Bengal, India is found in a semi-naked state and the college/ hospital called it a suicide.
I'm a MBBS student in second year. After reading about her, what crossed my mind is the amount of times she would have felt this fear, before this worst fear of hers eventually materialized.
"A young resident doctor was found dead in the seminar room of her medical college in Kolkata. Initial autopsy report suggests possible rape and murder."
As all are saying,
She wasn't walking the street at odd hours. She wasn't wearing clothes that were provocative. She wasn't loitering in dangerous neighbourhoods.
She was a resident doctor, looking for a place to rest in her own hospital.
She had been on duty and had gone to rest in the early hours of Friday.
The one place which was supposed to guarantee her safety failed her, miserably.
Someone comes, rapes a female pg who is merely resting in a seminar hall because there is no proper place for her to rest, brutalized her and kills her. How did NO one know? The college and police initially call it a suicide. Excuse me? It is also being said that under pressure from local politicians, the Principal and Dean attempted to alter the post-mortem report. Autopsy confirms sexual assault.
Tumblr media
What are the actions taken? One man arrested because his behavior seemed "shady". This is clearly not an act of one man. And this was a very well aware of and a well executed criminal act.
Tumblr media
Also, all this happening in WB right when the situation of bangladesh is in turmoil and news of Bangladeshi Hindus being killed and tortured, seems wrong, VERY WRONG. Happening right before NEET-PG, as 24 lakh doctors prepare to write an exam on Sunday to be resident doctors, this news has wrapped us all in agony and rage,
What are they working so hard for? Why should they aspire to be in a system that ignores their basic needs? The minimum requirement of a workplace is safety. That should be non-negotiable.
This profession demands extereme hardwork, a lot of mental strength and Physical Assaults, harassment, low paying jobs with odd working hours with intense humiliation. Now its the worst of all seeing a bright mind losing her life in the most disrespectful state of all. This should never happen to any woman.
I'd also like to question why isn't any big media house covering this news, where are all the international news channels all this time.
What are the students in other medical colleges doing? This talks about their own safety and lives. What are the medical students across the world doing? It's time for us to stand for the most basic Human right, safety.
Yesterday when my roommate, an MBBS final year intern was heading for her night posting, I feared and prayed for her to come back safely. Thinking about it, in a few years I will also have night posting, I'll also return from my hospital duties late at night. I'll also have to go through the same fear, and I'll also have to keep praying that my worst fears don't turn into reality. So many female doctors, nursing staffs, other Healthcare workers, other working women, non-working women go through the same fear, probably multiple times a day.
It is a shame to be born in such a disgusting world and society, it is shame to witness such a brutal crime, and it is a shame to live in this fear daily.
Those RAPISTS need to be hunged infront of the whole natio...if needed burned alive. People should fear the idea of raping, more than getting raped.

Thousands of doctors across major cities in India, including the capital, New Delhi, on Tuesday, joined in on protests sparked by the alleged rape and murder of a trainee last week.
A 31-year-old female medical trainee was found dead at one of the largest government hospitals in the eastern city of Kolkata on Friday. Her body sustained multiple injuries and an autopsy report described evidence of sexual violence.
After the incident, doctors walked off their jobs at government hospitals, demanding better security and safety measures for health workers. The chief of the institution involved, RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, resigned on Monday.
Protests flare as doctors demand better safety
Protests picked up across government-run facilities in the eastern state of West Bengal, home to Kolkata, on Monday — with doctors saying they would suspend emergency services as well until at least Tuesday.
"As resident doctors, we are on the frontline and deal with lots of patients, which makes us quite vulnerable to these attacks," Doctor Rajat Sharma, vice president of India's Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), told DW.
"It's a scary situation which we see working on a daily basis. Doctors in West Bengal are protesting for their rights. We want to have better security for our resident doctors."
Around 75% of doctors in India have faced some form of violence, according to a survey by the Indian Medical Association.
Sharma's FORDA colleague Sarvesh Pandey told Indian media that doctors' demands included a specialized law protecting healthcare workers from violence on the job.
"There should be stringent security measures in hospitals and CCTV cameras should be installed," he said.
Students at universities in Kolkata also joined in on protests, demanding better safety measures for women in particular.
Sexual violence against women is a big problem in India.
The National Crimes Records Bureau reported that in 2021, an average of 86 rape cases were registered every day and 49 cases of crime against women lodged every single hour.
Protests spread to major cities, some services hampered
The incident has struck a nerve in the medical community who have repeatedly said they face threats from angry family members, especially in the case of bad news involving medical issues.
In the western Maharashtra state, home to financial capital Mumbai, around 8,000 doctors at government hospitals walked off their jobs on Tuesday.
In New Delhi, junior doctors wearing white coats held banners that read "Doctors are not punching bags" as they sat outside a big government hospital to demand an investigation into the incident.
Protests hampered medical services in the city of Lucknow in the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh, as well as in the popular tourist state of Goa.
How have Indian authorities responded?
The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday ordered the case to be transferred over to a federal agency, meaning that Kolkata police will have to submit all case documents to the agency.
Kolkata police initially set up a special investigative team and arrested a man in connection with the case.
City police chief Vineet Kumar Goyal told reporters a case had been registered against the suspect under provisions of the law relating to rape and murder.
The National Human Rights Commission on Tuesday sent notices to the director general of police and the chief secretary of West Bengal state, asking for a detailed report within two weeks.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the family of the victim on Monday, telling reporters later that police were "giving utmost importance to the investigation."

Its really hard to study for neet 2025 because seeing how neet 2024 was conducted and how the government didn't take any action against it was enough depressing and then this kolkata case happened and I really don't want to become doctor in a country where the supposed highest respected job is treated like utter trash. It's professionals are being raped and murdered and all the people with power are trying to fucking cover it.
I dont want to study day and night to save the lives of people like them. I'd rather become a rich corrupted politician because at this point only they are living a life rest of us are their fucking slaves and puppet.
And stupid are those people who think this candle march and CBI is gonna do anything. CBI did nothing in pune porche case and sushant sing rajput murder case, they are fucking scared of some business man and bollywood actors; how and why do you think they will do anything against that monster didi. This is just like a tragic movie in India infact like a sequel to a movie they even named it nirbhaya 2.0. We will get such superhit movies in future as well because this is my country and I know how wonderful it's production is.

I know I already asked for a harbinger headcanon srry :< But I gotta know what would happened if you mixed Cookie Run and the Harbingers sksksksk. You don’t have to make it ofc! Whether it’s them playing the game or being a cookie or even not making the headcanon is totally up to you! I just gotta say I rlly like your work!
Hey dw about requesting multiple times, I’m happy to do these!
I kinda feel like cookie-ifying them, so here we go
Pierro:
Ok so we don’t know much about Khaenri’ahn food
But I think flowers suit him well
I’d make him a petunia cookie
Why? Well, petunias once symbolized anger and resentment
So like how he feels about Celestia and the archons
Nowadays some of the meaning has been lost, but I think that works with how Teyvat has moved on on the surface
However, there’s still a lasting effect from the tragedy
He also wouldn’t go by petunia cookie, since that’s not super intimidating
So I’m gonna give him “jester cookie”
He would definitely take some bitter amusement in the irony
Capitano:
Another flower guy
I’m giving him poppies, since those are traditionally used to remember fallen soldiers
He also wouldn’t go by his ingredient name, bc poppies aren’t very intimidating
So he would be something like “captain cookie” or “warrior cookie”
He has definitely lost soldiers on the battlefield, so I think poppies are fitting
Maybe he even lost some of himself on the battlefield too…
Since most of his appearance is hidden, you wouldn’t be able to tell poppies are his ingredient
But if I were to design his cookie clothes, I would place poppies on his uniform
Hm maybe I will design them all
Dottore:
Biryani cookie
Why? I feel like he would like the food, next question
God I want biryani
Anyway! I think the fact that you can add different ingredients to biryani fits him well
So like prime can be kolkata biryani, one of the clones can be sindhi biryani, etc etc
Idk it just suits him
He would go by smth like heretic cookie, doctor cookie, or even his actual name
It depends on the segment
The segments would also have ingredient substitutions to emphasize the “wrong” nature of them
Plus mechanical parts
Columbina:
So she’s a mystery for sure
But I would call her “seelie cookie”
Nobody knows her ingredients
But some believe she was baked from food directly made in the Teyvat equivalent of the fae wilds
I’m a big fan of fae/seelie columbina
Some wonder if she’s even a cookie at all
Personally, I think she would be a sugar cookie made from special or magical sugar, or even a very light cake, like chiffon
Regardless, she isn’t a normal cookie
I think she and angel cookie would get along lmao
Arlecchino:
Oof she’s another hard one, since we don’t know much about her
Gonna call her ice shard cookie
She’s a sharp and stern character, so she would be made of something harsh
Like the cold bite of winter
No she is not anything like the Tsaritsa
But she is still a force to be reckoned with
She would actually go by her ingredient name, bc fuck code names
If she must, she would be called “knave cookie”
She’s one of the few I actually have ideas for their skill so
She would use an icicle as a fencing sword
Similar to raspberry cookie, but I feel like arle would be an ambush and target the opponent with the least amount of HP
Maybe do some aoe frost damage
Pulcinella:
He’s a hard one, but kasha cookie
Kasha is a healthy, hearty grain dish, like oatmeal, but even more grain
If that makes sense
Partially bc it’s a health food for older people (sorry nella /lh)
But also partially because it’s sturdy and stable
Idk it just makes sense to me since he’s a government official that seems to do his job well
I just felt it calling to me
This is what happens when you do too much research for fanfics lmao, you remember foods you have never once seen in your home country
He would go by kasha cookie. No code name necessary, unless he truly must. As mayor, his name probably has to be public lmao
I love he
Scaramouche:
Puppet cookie
It’s basic, but like, he wouldn’t have been given another name before
He started out as puppet cookie, was called kabukimono cookie on tatarasuna, then became balladeer cookie
And now, he’s wanderer cookie
He wouldn’t be made with any normal ingredients, bc he’s entirely artificial
I feel like he would be made of wood and ingredient substitutions
Carved and molded into a perfect imitation of a cookie
Another one I actually have skill ideas for
As balladeer cookie, he would have lightning based attacks that just function as dps dmg
As wanderer cookie, he would have air based attacks that do less damage than balladeer, but also debuff enemies and buff allies
Sandrone:
French Sandy is my current religion so
Soufflé cookie
Her perfectionism just suits the food
She would go by “marionette cookie”
No ingredient substitutions here, but she would def still experiment on other cookies
Her attacks would involve puppet strings trapping opponents, dealing damage and debuffing them
Support cookie that can still pack a punch
Signora:
Bringing this back to flower town babyyyyy
Blood rose cookie
If you look up “blood rose flower,” you’ll see a beautiful dark red rose that gives gothic vibes
Honestly my reasoning lies in the name
Roses are romantic, but black roses represent revenge
So blood roses are somewhat a cross between the two
Do you see my vision
She would go by blood rose cookie before the Fatui, but after joining, she would be “fair lady cookie”
I have so many ideas for her design actually, I’m going insane
Pantalone:
Mora cookie /j
For real tho, he was born poor, so…
Millet cookie
Millet is a grain that’s great for protein and key fibers that you need
So an excellent food for someone who can’t access real well-rounded meals
The lower class of ancient China often used millet as a meal
Oh also I should mention that Liyue Pantalone is my other religion
Anyway tho, he would absolutely NOT go by millet cookie
He’d go by golden cookie, or regrator cookie
He would be embarrassed about his lowly origins, wanting to leave it behind
So millet cookie is OUT
Tartaglia:
Borscht cookie
Borscht is common, first of all
Second of all, it’s red, and ginger go brrr
Third of all, it can be served hot or cold, and I think that fits Childe’s personality well
Warm and welcoming around family
Cold and calculating around enemies
Imagine his blades being made out of soup lmao
He wouldn’t go by borscht cookie, since he doesn’t go by Ajax in canon
He would be called shashka cookie, after his weapons
Imagine being so badass you get to go by KNIFE /j
But Fr tho, the only ones who get to call him borscht cookie are his family
He would look so cute as a cookie, I love him
It honestly makes me really happy to get a request combining my two main fandoms. I want people to know that I will happily do headcanons for any of my fandoms, not just genshin. Hell I’ll do other characters besides harbingers too! Ik I made a bit of a name for myself with harbinger headcanons, but I would love to branch out!

Tourism
Tourism means when a person travels from one to place another. Every country has tourism but what makes tourism special in India?
Indian people no matter what religion we belong to, are full of love.
An individual wants some peace and love in his/her life and that is what exactly people got here. India has a deep-rooted history and diversity which gives us so many religious places and historical places to visit.
The beauty of nature, singing and dancing in religious places and the incredible architecture of heritage places make a person awe and make them fall for India.
Because of these qualities the government of India makes money and tries to increase the economy of the country. They set up some strategies for that one of them is the ticket, people have to buy the ticket price set by the government of India to view the heritage site.
Tourism gives so many opportunities to earn. It provides lots of local jobs to people which at least helps a little bit to reduce the poverty rate and so on a large scale many big companies are earning by making online apps like yatra.com where a person can easily plan and decide his/her entire trip on a gadget only.
There are a lot of positive sides of tourism the government will be focused to develop the infrastructure of the city, culture and religion will be preserved, increasing the domestic gross, our history and folks are preserved and again the money factor comes also.
But the positive side comes with a little negative too as the more crowded area will have a high rate of crime like robbing, raping, murder, etc., the polluted area will be more, consumption of drugs and alcohol will be increased and all this also effects on our local people because after watching things they would also want to try the lifestyle of other country people.
Besides all the good and bad sides India Is so beautiful place to visit. Like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and all. People usually try road trips to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Street foods are the best to have during the trips. Holy places like Vrindavan, barsana, and Ayodhya, are the places where the person can have pure bliss of love and peace because these are the places where we are directly connected to God. Many foreigners present there is no more a tourist now, they settle down here only because of the satisfaction they got.

The British occupation of India spanned over two centuries, starting in the early 1600s and lasting until 1947, when India gained independence. This period witnessed immense changes in Indian society, economy, and politics, culminating in the eventual partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan. Here’s a detailed timeline of the major events in the British occupation of India:
### **Early Contact and East India Company Rule (1600–1757)**
- **1600**: The **British East India Company (EIC)** was granted a royal charter by **Queen Elizabeth I** to trade in the East Indies, including India.
- **1615**: The British established their first trading post in **Surat** after receiving permission from the Mughal Emperor **Jahangir**.
- **1639**: The British founded the city of **Madras** (now Chennai) and built **Fort St. George**, solidifying their presence on the Indian coast.
- **1668**: **Bombay** was acquired by the East India Company after being ceded to the British crown as part of **Catherine of Braganza's dowry** to **Charles II** of England, and later leased to the EIC.
- **1690**: **Calcutta** (now Kolkata) was established as a trading settlement by the British under **Job Charnock**, which later became the capital of British India.
- **1757 – Battle of Plassey**: This marked the start of British dominance in India. The British, under **Robert Clive**, defeated **Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula** of Bengal, gaining control over Bengal and securing their foothold in India. The victory was largely secured through alliances with local rulers and bribery, establishing the East India Company's political power.
### **East India Company Rule and Expansion (1757–1857)**
- **1764 – Battle of Buxar**: The British defeated the combined forces of the Mughal Emperor, the Nawab of Awadh, and the Nawab of Bengal. The victory further solidified British control over Bengal and surrounding regions, with the Mughal Emperor granting the British **Diwani rights** (revenue collection) over Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa.
- **1773 – Regulating Act**: This was the first parliamentary act to regulate the affairs of the East India Company. The British government established control over the company’s operations and appointed **Warren Hastings** as the first Governor-General of India.
- **1784 – Pitt’s India Act**: This further strengthened the British government’s control over the East India Company’s administration, creating the Board of Control to oversee its political affairs in India.
- **1799 – Fourth Anglo-Mysore War**: The British defeated **Tipu Sultan**, the ruler of Mysore, who had resisted British expansion, and incorporated Mysore into the British sphere of influence.
- **1803–1818 – Anglo-Maratha Wars**: A series of conflicts between the British and the Maratha Empire, resulting in the defeat of the Marathas and the annexation of large parts of western and central India.
- **1824–1826 – First Anglo-Burmese War**: The British defeated the Burmese and annexed the provinces of **Arakan** and **Tenasserim**, beginning their expansion into Burma (now Myanmar).
- **1843 – Annexation of Sindh**: After defeating the rulers of Sindh in present-day Pakistan, the British annexed the region.
- **1845–1849 – Anglo-Sikh Wars**: After two wars, the British defeated the Sikh Empire and annexed the **Punjab** region, further expanding British control.
### **The Indian Rebellion and Direct Crown Rule (1857–1914)**
- **1857 – Indian Rebellion/First War of Independence**: A major, but ultimately unsuccessful, rebellion broke out against British rule, starting with the mutiny of Indian soldiers (sepoys) in Meerut. It spread across northern and central India and included both soldiers and civilians. The British brutally suppressed the uprising, but it forced a major shift in governance.
- **1858 – Government of India Act**: Following the rebellion, the British government dissolved the East India Company and transferred control of India directly to the **British Crown**. **Queen Victoria** became the Empress of India, and the country was now ruled by a **Viceroy** appointed by the British government.
- **1877**: **Queen Victoria** was proclaimed **Empress of India** during a grand ceremony, further formalizing British control.
- **1885 – Formation of the Indian National Congress (INC)**: Indian intellectuals and political leaders founded the INC to seek greater political participation and rights for Indians. Though initially moderate in its demands, the INC would become the leading organization in the Indian independence movement.
- **1899–1905 – Lord Curzon's Reforms**: British Viceroy Lord Curzon undertook administrative and territorial reforms, including the controversial **partition of Bengal** in 1905, dividing the province along religious lines into a Muslim-majority eastern part and a Hindu-majority western part.
### **Indian Nationalism and the Road to Independence (1914–1947)**
- **1914–1918 – World War I**: Over 1.3 million Indian soldiers fought in World War I for the British Empire, with promises of greater autonomy after the war. However, post-war reforms were minimal, causing disillusionment and increasing calls for independence.
- **1919 – Jallianwala Bagh Massacre**: British troops, under General **Reginald Dyer**, fired on a peaceful gathering of Indians in Amritsar, killing hundreds. This event sparked widespread outrage and galvanized the Indian independence movement.
- **1919 – Government of India Act**: The British introduced limited reforms, allowing some Indian participation in government, but it fell short of the demands for self-rule.
- **1920–1922 – Non-Cooperation Movement**: Led by **Mahatma Gandhi**, the Indian National Congress launched a nationwide non-violent resistance against British rule. The movement called for boycotts of British goods and institutions but was suspended after violence erupted in some areas.
- **1930 – Salt March and Civil Disobedience Movement**: Gandhi led the famous **Salt March** to protest British salt taxes, inspiring the broader **Civil Disobedience Movement** aimed at challenging British authority through non-violent resistance.
- **1935 – Government of India Act**: This act introduced more substantial reforms, including provincial autonomy, but still fell short of full independence. It was the last major constitutional effort by the British to control India before World War II.
- **1942 – Quit India Movement**: During World War II, the INC launched the **Quit India Movement**, demanding an immediate end to British rule. The British responded with mass arrests, including the detention of Gandhi and other leaders, but unrest continued.
- **1943 – Bengal Famine**: A devastating famine struck Bengal during the war, leading to the deaths of an estimated 2-3 million people. British policies, wartime inflation, and mismanagement contributed to the disaster.
- **1945–1947 – Post-War Movements**: After World War II, Britain, exhausted and weakened, faced increasing pressure for Indian independence. The Labour government under **Clement Attlee** recognized that it could no longer maintain control over India.
### **Partition and Independence (1947)**
- **1947 – Partition and Independence**: On **August 15, 1947**, India gained independence from Britain, but the subcontinent was divided into two nations: **India** and **Pakistan**. The partition caused widespread violence between Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs, and led to one of the largest mass migrations in history, with millions displaced and hundreds of thousands killed.
### **Conclusion**
The British occupation of India profoundly influenced the country’s history, reshaping its political, social, and economic structures. While it brought certain modernizations such as railways and legal systems, British rule also exploited India’s resources, leading to economic stagnation, social division, and significant human suffering, particularly during events like the Bengal famine and partition.
