Yaps, yaps and yaps more,, and ya gotta bear it. Like, whenever he was annoying anyone else in the team, they'd just walk away or get him to get away. But now,, cant do nothing about it. At first he definitely took advantage of it, but over time i feel like he'd pay a bit more mind to not being too insufferable. Also, therapy sessions every now nd then. Man needs a bit comfort even if he can't admit it. Hes not that bad when it comes to handling, can be gentle, but also sometimes can get a bit too careless. Oh but he teases alot, alooot. Would get u snacks, but never try bonk..... u'll explode 😓😓

Solider

Before even getting found out by him, you had to have a tiny american flag in ur bag whenever you went out. If you didnt, this guy wouldnt adopt you as THE AMERICAN BORROWER YOU ARE!!! And since, say, you did.......... best dad ever. 10/10. Well i mean,, accidents happen quite some timesss.. (racoons.. or his idiocy) He keeps an eye on ya tho, 24/7. Also, youre probably his only voice of good sense that could shush him down whenever he gets a bit dum dum, thats appreciated by everyone.

Pyro

Dress ups, tea parties and some arson on the side since he provides u matches. At first he was way too curious about you to be gentle, but over time he learnt to be carefull. Likes touchin u, prodding and tapping and stuff. Keeps him aware ur real and not am image in his head. He would definitely make crafts for u, like just minature sized objects or something like that. Would get really attached, so, you get scary dog privilege :3

Demoman

Wee lil' friend you are hes rather fond of. Hes caring and protective all the time. When he gets sloshed, he just becomes grabby, clingy nd loud. At times, just cuz hes used to do so, tries to get you to drink sum with him (if you're an adult ofc). This guy stuffs pepole up with granades on a daily, but would never hurt someone smaller than himself. Sometimes u gotta remind him to be quieter, but tbh, if youre living next to an everyday battlefield, your ears should be well used to it by now.

Heavy

A presence he doesn't rrly mind. When hes not in battle hes a quiet man, just going through his day, so having a tiny bud on the shoulder is no issue. He'd be pretty scared of handling said bud tho, ees hard to be careful when being beeg man. But you can always just stay in the pocket or as i said already, shoulder. Guaranteed food around him too. Heavy does not mind sharing sandvich with leetle leetle friend.

Engineer

Workshop assistant :D Every borrower must know how to make tools, atleast the basics, and i feel like he'd be amused by these but in a positive way. He would definitely make tiny functioning thingys for ya. And now if we dont care about the amount of noise, a small wrangler to you and you can shoot with his sentry meanwhile hes occupied with something else on the battlefield. Super fun and caring guy, one of the few that know what personal space means tbh.

Sniper

Rather antisocial typa guy, so if you're around him then its either just sitting in silence or a small talk about either his job or whatever you have to offer. I also dont feel like he'd be overly touchy in any situation. He sometimes can offer you resting somewhere on him; hat, shoulder, pocket, whatever you like. But thats for whenever he's not sniping. He'd rather not get startled by a move and miss the shot.

Medic

It all.. ALL depends on how he found you, what mood he had and overall what was his first thought he had about you. And if it was all somewhat positive, then another assistant you are. He could get a full review of how it is when inside of a human body from u!!!! fun ain't it? :D He wouldnt really go out his way to be careful, at first at least. Later on he might give some respect, if you prove yourself to be productive and entertaining that is. Archimedes would definitely be interested in you, taking you as their own.

Spy

He wouldnt be too invested in you, maybe sometimes taking you on the battlefield as a extra set of eyes or something. Also it would be a pain to even spend time with him since his smoke room would be a literal gas chamber. But maybe he'd let you just ride along in some pocket, as long as you kept it clean, and just.. do spy duties idk. Maybe if he got you some of your own mini gadgets then mini spy???? hhhmmmm??? im outta ideas for him idk

One of my most reblogged posts says, “ ATLA asks whether you can actually be friends across these lines if society refuses to be equitable. Friendships and romance depend not on conflict to deepen them but an active peacefulness.” I think a lot of people relate to the post’s critique of the kyriarchy (all those damn interwoven -isms!) and the ways it limits the formation of relationships. It describes how violence shortens lifespans, squashes nuance, and forces people together into exploitative rather than mutual dynamics. It’s easy to read my post as condemning the possibility of real connection across lines of oppression. I think that’s what I believed when I wrote it even. I’ve always had a certain gifted grace when I reread my writing, however, to discover that I’ve left a window of opportunity open. In this case, the window is within a few words in those sentences: “ATLA asks whether you can,” and that word, “active.”

The show doesn’t merely ask, but it answers its questions with that concept of active peacefulness. Wtf does that mean, tho??? Our boi Aang is so notably avoidant as to be a stereotype of his culture within universe. If it were up to him alone at the start of the show, peace would be a completely passive state. But if that were the case, he’d still be in the big ol’ ice cube. It’s Katara and Sokka’s dynamic and conflicted communalism that frees the avatar unto the world again. Katara demonstrates how disagreement and rage need have nadda to do with assault or abandonment. They can be the features of closeness and trust within a healthy growing relationship, peaceful even as they exact major shifts in the world. Sokka’s misogyny isn’t anything to imitate, but its the first instance we see in the series of a relationship strong enough to accept critique, discourse, and change. Just in this first episode, Sokka illustrates receptivity, Katara models productive and honest emotion, and, soon enough, Aang is introduced to spur on the expansion of these healthy communal practices beyond imposed borders, with all of them learning and growing in relation to one another.

This has profound implications for what comes in the finale regarding Azula and Ozai. These two powerhouses depended on order to stabilize their relationships rather than the bitchy discursiveness that constitutes real friendships or the meaningful arguments and compromises that make for a healthy romance. Importantly, neither gets the comeuppance they’d prefer: domination. Instead, they’re forced into relational dynamics. Azula is frozen alongside Katara, while Ozai’s energy is melded with Aang’s. If they are bested, it’s not in the arena of power; it’s in mutuality. They’re forced to be closer to the people they’ve oppressed and abused, held together rather than apart, and they come out of that encounter cowed but uninjured, the way a friend’s censure pains a soul so much worse than an enemy’s assault that cripples or kills. And the show’s not idealistic about the consequences of these symbolic gestures. It imprisons the antagonists, who are still not friends or even allies--only horrific equals who have a long way to go before any kind of trust is possible.

One person knows that long road, though. Zuko. His relationship to the gaang, and most of all Aang, reveals best that friendships across the constructed lines of oppression are possible and, in fact, a model for the most transformative relational dynamics. I’ve gotta block quote Ramzi Fawaz’s shit on friendship in Queer Forms, cuz it’s game-changing in concepts of friendship, and subsequently, why we feel so delightfully charged by Zuko’s ‘redemption,’ as its been called. 

Friendships of the kind I am describing, then, ones that carry the spirit of inventiveness and experimentation described by [Audre] Lorde and [Michel] Foucault, are exceptionally capable of handling conflict, because a genuine equality between the parties (that is nothing like sameness but has to do with two people equally valuing one another) means that both are actively engaged in the construction of the bond. This is why friendship can never function as the application of a rule (you must care for me in this predetermined way as a condition of our speaking) but rather takes shape in the doing of it, as the mutual creation, and continual renegotiation, of shared criteria for dialogue (we will speak, again and again, in order to figure out what conditions best enable our mutual growth). This model of sociality leaves far less space for victims and perpetrators, accusers and accused, because of a sense of mutual involvement, a complicity of the best kind not unlike Lorde’s conception of ‘the erotic’ as a force that animates a shared creation or ‘invention’ of new social forms between two people. It is also a description of the kind of interaction that incites people to change, to relase destructive or oppressive logics like homophobia, sexism, transphobia, and racism, not under ideological duress, shame, or demand, but in the surprising encounter with others who shift the ground beneath one’s feet.

We can see these kind of steadfast and contentious dynamics with lots of pairings as they develop on the show : Toph and Katara, Suki and Sokka, Aang and Teo, Katara and Aang, Mai and Zuko. These relationships go beyond simple alliance. While the empire’s violence might force these people together or apart, its their own abilities to face their differences, stick it out, and build something mutually beneficial (rather than the easier option of antagonistic) that connotes these relationships, even as it forces them to vacate the ideologies they held at the beginning of each episode in order to create more expansive visions of understanding. Zuko’s arc, of course, is the clearest answer atla offers: he goes from a villanous relationship, to a stance of confusion, toward a final state of loyalty and dedicated friendship. 

Relationships are possible within the sphere of violence and across the hierarchical lines the violence has implemented and enforces. Those people in positions of power, upheld by the violence and neglect of others, are actually equals (in the existential sense) to the most marginalized individual, and are therefore capable of all those tenets of humanity--embarrassment, sensitivity, loneliness, evil, empathy, etc. It’s only that the domain of oppressive conflict makes the tensions, betrayals, and metamorphoses that are a necessary part of the best kinds of friendships terrifying because those experiences feel so similar to abuse. In abuse, though, only one person is forced to change. In a reciprocal relationship, everyone is surprised to find they’re not entirely offended that someone else finds them imperfect--and somehow that’s endearing and engenders changes that neither person necessarily even demands. This is active peace: joking, judging, hugging, arguing, confessing, bitching, breaking rules, trusting, dancing, loving within a deeply imperfect world with deeply imperfect people for whom you, nevertheless, still want the best and who seem to want the best for you (which is why you wanted the world to change for the better in the first place).

The Komahina Nagitos: Unsurprisingly it's the biggest club. Especially considering it overlaps with the Kamukoma club.

The Komaegi Nagitos: Constantly cooing about how wonderful their little Ultimate Hope is. And are maybe just a tiny bit boastful about how lucky they are to have won the heart of Makoto Naegi.

The Komanami Nagitos: Like to talk among each other about how very comfy Chiaki's hugs are, and how she'll wrap them in a warm blanket whenever they have a cold.

The Komazumi Nagitos: Constantly have dreamy looks on their faces as they think of red hair and freckles. Giggle among themselves about how weirdly endeared they are to the word "Geez", and hold a photo of her smiling face close by.

The Komamiki Nagitos: Have a bit of a rough reputation with some of the other "Mikan skeptical" Nagitos that are like "What do you see in her, dude?". Which only makes these Nagitos even more steadfast in their defense of their girlfriends.

The Matsukoma Nagitos: Consider themselves a cut above the other Nagitos, with the most esteemed taste in partners. Having pursued and won the love of God's gift to humanity, Yasuke Matsuda. To the frustration of the other Nagitos, they're not quite sure that they can argue with that logic.

This is fascinating, and right away I gotta say that every group/ship would be split three ways between the reasonably well-adjusted Nagitos in a two-sided relationship with the person, the way, way overzealous Nagitos who are still in a two-sided relationship with the person, and the unrequited Nagitos. (Two-sided, in this case, just means reciprocated; it does not eliminate polyamory as a possibility.)

(One qualifier for that: I don't think the Komamiki group has an unrequited subset. If I were speaking neutrally I would say it does, so everyone can imagine their own scenarios, but in my mind, I simply don't see a world where Nagito is like "Mikan tho" and Mikan is like "No thanks; I've got other stuff going on." I feel like even if Mikan wasn't into him before, she wouldn't turn down affection if she knew it was available. Even in a Mikan-gets-therapy or Mikan-dates-someone-else universe, I feel like if Nagito likes her and expresses that, they would have at least tried it out.)

I think the unrequited Komazumi's and the unrequited Matsukoma's are among the most stable of the unrequited Nagitos. At least, they're closer to base Nagito: pretty weird, highly problematic, but nice enough and generally un-swirly.

The unrequited Komanami group have some fairly normal-by-Nagito-standards ones, some slightly more quiet, slightly more passive-aggressive ones who are coming from a place of "I wasn't expecting her to like me anyway, but this reserve course student she's dating is so beneath her, in a way that messes with both my inferiority complex and my superiority complex," and some who watched Danganronpa 3 happen and are A Problem. Unless we're assuming no Tragedy, which...come on. 😏

In fact, a more productive way to divvy up the Komanami's is: the ones who saw Chiaki die and were in a relationship with her; the ones who didn't see her die and were in a relationship with her; the ones who saw her die and weren't in a relationship with her; and the ones who didn't see her die and weren't in a relationship with her. The ones who haven't seen her die are being warned by the ones who did. The ones who didn't see her die and weren't in a relationship with her now feel their life's purpose is to stop her from dying, even if it means dying in her place. The ones who didn't see her die and are in a relationship with her aren't much better in that regard; it makes sense of their place in the luck cycle. Honestly, thinking of it that way, that whole group would be a problem. Don't let them group together, lol.

Speaking generally, the pre-Tragedy unrequited Komaegi's would be fairly cute about it and the post-Tragedy unrequited Komaegi's conflate acts of love with his already-extremist hope agenda and take the lack of reciprocation as a given, so they'd be a handful to say the least.

I think another fun thing to consider about the Komaegi's is that there would be some of them going "DO YOU KNOW THAT HE'S THE ULTIMATE HOPE?" to the others. Like, the subset that are unrequited pre-Tragedy and just treating their crush as a regular crush could get radicalized so fast by the unrequited who either have post-Tragedy reasons to view Makoto as the Ultimate Hope or the pre-Tragedy who just have convinced themselves that he's the Ultimate Hope independently of any killing game stuff.

And I don't think the comparatively-well-adjusted Komaegi's who are in a stable relationship with him would do anything to mitigate that. Some of them might encourage the radical behavior, just like "I'm pretty normal now, but I agree that he deserves someone to be weird about him."

I think the controversial issues for the Komaegi group are just how they feel about Makoto's friends and sister. Like, I think there are ones who genuinely think Komaru is fairly cool and ones who will smile and say Komaru is disappointingly ordinary.

Brian/Hoodie- Jimmy, I wanted to keep the cast focused to life series and evo members and he made the most sense to me lore wise, especially with the idea that in this au he was one of the ones with the earliest exposure to The Watcher (bc I love Canary Curse symbolism)

Alex- This one was the toughest choice bc no matter what a fav is going to loose it. Good thing this based on the Life Series! As much as I Love the idea of Joel and Lizzie as Alex and Amy, I actually went with Martyn. Again, the character is pretty involved with the Watcher Lore so it made the most sense as the character that is arguably most effected by it. (Although for a brief moment I considered Mumbo Jumbo bc,,, how fucking funny would that be)

Jessica- Jessica's gotta be Pearl right? It makes the most sense for it to be Pearl, I don't even need reasoning for this it makes sense

It's set in a kind of nebulous time frame that's probably a little closer to present day, but it does still start with a student film project. When asked Why Martyn chose to use tapes he says something about wanting a more authentic feel to the film but in reality he just thought using tapes was a cool idea and doesn't want to admit that it's kind of impractical now.

In this au Scar doesn't smoke, but instead I like the headcannon that he just has boxes of candy/bubblegum cigarettes on him at all times. He'll pull one out, pause, and offer one to someone and when they say no he's just like "Okay, your loss" and watch as they get all confused when he starts unwrapping it asdfghkgkdjhfjsh

hello queen, I have a pathetic question about dating: how to not feel jealous at those who seem like they’ve found “the one” already? Ik all that stuff about everyone being on their own journey and stuff, but it does hurt sometimes. I’ve never even dated so seeing everyone find their one is heartbreaking sometimes. Don't get me wrong, the right person is worth it, but life isn't a fairytale. Notice how those couples with the constant PDA often go silent when things get messy?

Here's where self-discovery comes in. Sometimes those relationship cravings are masking something else – a need for excitement, validation, whatever. Figuring that out is way more productive than doom-scrolling relationship goals.

You think having a partner is this automatic happiness upgrade, but I've been on the other side, in a relationship feeling lonelier than ever. Trust me, it's a mind-blowing kind of awful, followed by a new level of depression. That's the thing nobody talks about.

So, I rock my single status because guess what? I've got standards. Settling for mediocrity just to avoid being alone? Nope. I'd rather invest my energy elsewhere. Because contrary to all that rom-com nonsense, you can't outsource your happiness to another person. You gotta build that for yourself.

A healthy relationship is two happy people adding to each other's lives, not draining each other dry with emotional baggage. That's why I'm perfectly content rolling solo until the right one comes along. Do you want dependence and drama? There are plenty of trashy reality shows for that.

Yeah, it's different from the usual "find your soulmate" BS, but it's REAL. You want fulfillment? Build that life for yourself first. The rest either falls into place, or you realize you're happier without another person's dirty socks in the mix.

Scout:

-scouts does not understand what a period was and was always confused on why his mom would get insanely emotional during a time in the month

-he tries his best to be supportive but at times he gets kinda rude about things and gets insult-y but Medic reassures him it’s not your fault

-���c’mon doc cant they just make it go away! Why they gotta make such a big deal about it, it usually last a coupla’ days!”

-“Nein you dumkopf!” Medic angrily yells back with a bonk to scouts head “zey can’t just change it venever and it affects someone greatly!” Medic will go on a whole rant and then give scout an entire breakdown of the uterus and what a menstrual cycle.

“Do you know vhat it feels like to be kicked in ze stomach?”

“Course I do, doc, why?”

“Zats what happens for a week.”

“…”

“And jou bleed.”

“So like …if it was for me I’d be bleedin from my-“

“Ja.”

“Oh jeez-! I gotta make this up to em’!” Scout says in a hurry.

-for the rest of your cycle he’s as consistent as you need him to be. He’s always ready with pads (or tampons I prefer pads tho ^_^), painkillers, food. He tries to do his best.

-scout will make sure to always be there from then on and do as much research to understand.

Soldier

-like scout, soldier is completely blind to this thing.

-“you have a period?! What do you mean?! At the end of a sentence? Of course ya do, dummy!”

-soldier finds you lying on the floor from the pain and when you say you’re bleeding he takes it as internal bleeding

-“oh god- cupcake we gotta get you to Medic real fast!” Soldier picks you up and speeds over to Medic.

-“zhey are on their menstrual cycle.”

-“like recycling!?”

-“……no.”

-unlike scout, soldier will still not understand after it all but will comply nonetheless with helping

-he treats everything like a mission tho and so he takes it Incredibly serious despite his lack of knowledge

-“soldier I need some pain killers..”

-“Roger that, darling!”

10 minutes later he comes back with Xanax

-“uhm..that’s the wrong one, love-….”

-is 100% the type of man to text “in the pad aisle, what size pussy do you wear !!!”

-he still is a very considerate man and is always there for you <3

Heavy:

-heavy has sisters. Heavy lives with his mother. Heavy is the only man in the household

-he knows.

-and he’s super helpful and considerate! All of his sisters have different flows and reactions so he’s gotten used to the wide varieties of cravings and needs

-heavy is surprisingly a good chef and he would cook and bake his sisters craving dishes!

-and that is what he does with y/n! Always creating the desired dish for the moment

-he’s always there with products, blankets and overall helping out

-Heavy is very gentle with you during this moment also. He’s very soft spoken and kind and tries not to anger you easily.

-he’s also very calm. If you lash out he simply reminds you to calm down and that everything’s okay

-always here for a shoulder to cry on <33

-heavy is also good at setting the mood to take a good nap or to rest well.

-he lights candles and gives blankets and hugs you tightly as you drift to sleep

Demoman:

-demoman believes every problem can be washed away with some sort of alcohol so he’d pressure you a lot into drinking

-you choose not to tho because it doesn’t help much and you’re frankly angry for a while and he’s confused

-Demo knew what a cycle was but never put to much mind into it

-he’s, of course, helpful and considerate and always there but he also has a “whatever” kinda tone when it comes to it

-he does feel very bad when he sees you struggling and he always pats your back and reassures you you’ll be okay

-“it’s okay, mate you’ll be fine” he says as he kisses you

-reminder! Demo loves showering you in drunken kisses !!!

-he kisses your stomach and wherever you have cramps/hurt as his form of love

-he’s the type to pass out next to you after drinking too much and you also sleeping in his arms

-other than that he’s there for you but he’s more casual in the way he approaches it

pre-band backstory

Randy and Howard meet Lavander in 9th grade during the whole 'kick out of the band' thing, but they don't actually become friends till college

Randy has been mind wiped and has no clue about the ninja. He knows he went to high school, and during it alot of 'something' happened, but he can't place it no matter how hard he tries. Doctors claim it's some sort of dissociative amnesia. They speculate that whatever this 'something' is, Randy couldn't handle it so he locked away whatever memory he has of it. Randy feels like that's not it, but he doesn't know what else it could be.

Howard remembers tho. He hates it a lot. They drift apart.

Despite what happened before, Lavander is still very serious about music. It's his dream to become a rockstar, so he studies everything about music. From playing instruments to production to distribution, everything. It helps a lot that his parents just so happen to be already involved in the scene, and super fucking rich.

They don't go to the same college. Randy meets Lavander one night when Randy randomly goes to a concert at a local bar. Lavander recognizes him and talks to him afterwards.

Randy still feels bad about 9th grade (even if he can't remember exactly what it was he feels so bad about), but luckily Lavander has mostly moved on and has no hard feelings about it.

They talk and start becoming friends.

Lavander ends up leaving his band. They have a huge dispute because, despite having all the instruments and skills needed, they don't have a lead singer. No record label is going to pick them up without a singer. It leads to the bassist telling Lavander he doesn't have the talent for it, and Lavander leaves.

While hanging out, Lavander vents to Randy about it. He says maybe he should just quit. Randy tells him something the nomicon once told him about being yourself, and says something like 'Who cares if they think you don't have the talent? If you want to do it, do it. At the end of it, you gotta do what makes you happy. Though... maybe I'm not the one to be telling you that...'

Lavander then suggests maybe they should pair up. 'You still know how to play the piano and keyboard, right? If you get some singing lessons....'

I like to think that Randy and Rachel also become friends bc they wind up working at the same movie theater. Rachel is also going into music, and wants to be an idol/popstar. After giving it A LOT of thought, Randy ends up asking her for singing lessons.

This whole time, Howard is off doing his own thing. Probably studying business or cooking. He won't talk to Randy at all. Won't answer texts, won't return his calls, just avoids him in general. He hates every second of it.

I kinda think maybe Heidi, Bucky and Lavander, Rachel kinda.... force Randy and Howard to make up. They see the toll it's taking on each of them, as much as they deny it. I mean, they've been glued to the hip since they were infants. Heidi decides 'okay i'm tired of you being depressed, go make friends with him again'. Nearly drags him to the game-hole herself

Somehow, it works. Randy and Howard make up, and they decide to band up with Lavander.

actual band stuff

slowly they become the most popular band in Norrisvile somehow.

Randy is main vocals/keyboard, Lavander plays the guitar and bass, and Howard does drums. They don't have a permanent bassist for their live shows, but thanks to Lavanders connections, finding one isn't hard.

Lavander takes care of everything musically. Song writing, composing, producing, taking care of their instruments, keeping them on track during practice, everything. He takes it extremely seriously and won't let them slack for even a second.

Howard is their manager for the most part. He maintains the fiances and gets them gigs.

Randy manages everything regarding the public. He's the main face of the band. He maintains their social media, and is the perfect MC for their performances. He used to have a ton of stage fright (mostly because of his ninja trauma) but gets over it quickly.

Randy kinda puts on a 'confident dumbass' persona in public. He's very charismatic, very funny, open and honest, even if he's kinda stupid sometimes. Exact opposite how he is in real life. Irl he's very reclusive, and anxious. He tries his hardest to be relaxed and chill, but that's difficult around strangers.

He HATES it whenever someone recognizes him out of the blue. Being the ninja, he had to keep his identity a secret to keep himself safe. Whenever a random fan recognizes him when he doesn't expect it, it triggers his paranoia and it takes him EVERYTHING not to hit them and run. He always wears a disguise whenever running errands.

Randy's usually the one who comes up with ideas for their shows and music videos. He knows quite a bit about directing and cameras. He can be a little demanding on set, always trying to get the absolute best shot, but treats everyone with respect.

Howard loves it tho. 100% always willing to give a random person an autograph when he's just getting snacks at the store. He's also more than a little demanding backstage, but Randy usually puts him in his place.

Lavander doesn't mind it either, but usually dresses up with Randy to help him feel better. He's very camera shy though. He doesn't mind letting Randy and Howard take care of interviews and such.

They're friends with Rhymes and his group. They have a few songs together.

They also have a few songs with Rachel. She's norrisviles biggest popstar (basically their equivlent to taylor swift). It's known that her and Randy have been friends for a long time. It's probably speculated they're dating.

Randy and Rachel don't mind it much. It keeps people from finding out about their actual relationships (Randy's with Theresa, Rachel has her own relationship).

I like to imagine the bros live together to save money. they got a weird gay thing going on.

Lavander and Howard probably drink alot. Randy not so much

I just know they probably have a ton of fangirls and simps. there's probably fandom wars on who's the best.

There's also a small bit of speculation that Randy is the ninja. I mean, he has a weird fascination with swords and martial arts, tends to wear black/red a lot, grew up in norrisvile, absolutely hates robots... Luckily the ninja has shown up a few times at their performances, immediately debunking the whole thing. Randy refuses to comment on it.

Lavander's old band is very popular too, and they have a weird rivalry going on on stage. It's fake of course, irl they get along well and there's no hard feelings, but Randy suggested they play up on the 'ex-band' thing for no reason and people absolutely ate it up.

Randy and Howard steams lets play sometimes. Lavander sometimes joins in too.

resentments hcs:

Their longest and most popular album is titled 'RESENTMENTS' and is about Randy and Howard's ninja trauma. It's double the length of a normal album, half of it is in japanese, (randy speaks it), and no one can figure out what the hell any of it means. Randy's said before it's meant to be a message to 'someone', (the nomicon), and that alot of it doesn't make sense to anyone besides him and Howard. not even Lavander knows what the hell is going on in it, and he produced it.

I have a bunch of ideas for what songs are on it, but one of them is called 'graduation'. It's about 10-12 minutes long. It's supposed to be Randy talking directly to the nomicon, telling it everything he meant to say before he mind wiped.

Another one is called 'Demons eye', and it's like, maybe 5-7 minutes long. It's about Howard recounting what it was like to be possessed by the tengu.

Not sure about the title, but another one was written by Lavander. Lavander doesn't know anything about the ninja, but he's seen the massive toll it's taken on Randy and Howard. He wants them to talk to him about it, so the song is just him telling them 'I'm here for you'.

One of them is called 'Secret Garden' and it's a love song about Theresa. It's one of their singles that released before the album, and Theresa absolutely adores it.

One of the first songs on the album is called 'Hornet's Nest' and it's a disstrack against McFist. McFist tried to sue them over it. The artwork for the song in the video is inspired by one of McFist's old advertisements. Tried to say it was defamation, but everything in the song is publicly available information you can find with the right google search. Then he tried to sue them for copyright for the artwork, but the judge ruled the artwork is transformative enough to not count. Which then led to an investigation of McFist's entire company, causing them to find out about his ninja destruction attempts. They got a fuckton of money out of it, and Randy absolutely LOVES to tell the story of it. (Ya know 'rat' by penelope scott? that's basically this one)

Another song is called 'Heroic Death' and is about leaving a legacy and like, if randy died as the ninja no one would really know. All of the album is emotional, but this one might be the most heavy hitter next to graduation. It's a sin in the fandom not to like this one.

I wanted the girls to talk about their brother, a 'dad' line maybe, a family of 5 little scene at the party. We got more bts than product filmed ffs. One good thing is, if they're going with Rollins-Carisi I love it?! Thankfully! Amanda Rollins and the Rollivia scene saved the episode, I absolutely adored LOVED their scene, Amanda first concern: How is Liv 😭😭 and Liv opens up only with her😭, this kind of talk was like their usual talks in her office, when Amanda would knock, come in, ask how she was and the talk would unravel. I missed this. And here as soon as she started talking about the case Amanda went into detective mode, -investigating thinking face activated-! adfghjkljhgfdsfghjk the OUR PERP, Liv face 😂, her 'when are you coming back' face lol. Also 'Don't make me miss you more than I already do' I'm dead! we all thought that!! This is so so telling tho bitch come back soon, Liv misses you, that team definitely misses you and your brain. Too many men, it's not acceptable! and I don't want random rotating female detectives just to fill the spot (they could have kept Churlish tho??), women are not interchangeable thank you, we need Amanda back! the scene says it all, again. Also also also, holy shit Amanda/Kelli she was soooo hot in that scene, like wow. Blouse, pants, hair everything perfect! this was filmed during the 'lil boo thang dance video' right?!😂😂

Also I love the idea that Liv didn't even bat an eye when she goes all 'Carisi told you about the dolls right?' like it's a given that Amanda knows everything about the cases anyway lol. Does Amanda grill her husband when he comes home in the evening?! 😂😂 "Tell me everything about the case, I'm listening (I'm bored I need a challenge)" so if this is what happens there's no way Carisi doesn't know she's bored and miss SVU, come on, like Liv, he knows her the best, he's just waiting for her to come clean I believe, and I get it, maybe she doesn't want to burst the bubble, also with baby number 3 challenge added, and probably the writers want us to see the moment it happens and with this strike it prolonged everything, I will accept the fact that they haven't talk already as long as they really show it tho, because it needs to happens, she wants back! and she's so needed!

the last but not the least, McGrath gotta go, ASAP, persona non grata, give me back Garland, hell even Dodds was way better. If a character like that doesn't evolve and doesn't learn and doesn't gets better after 3 seasons... he gotta go. Actually he's getting worse.

I just binged The Morning Show and since s3 is in production I just gotta get a few things of my chest. First off I need to say that I love Corey (yes, even tho he leaked the article) but to pin him and Bradley together as a romantic couple is harmful and undermines the tone of the whole show. 

We need to remember what show we are in. Most of the show has been about sexual misconduct in the work place. Corey is Bradley’s boss. And I just can’t get past that. And the way he goes behind Bradleys back in order to “take care of her” is just a major red flag. He tries to control her, and justifies is with it being for her best interest, that is literally one of the most toxic traits someone can have. So yeah, Corey is a male manipulator. And as much as I do like him we need to establish the fact that he is an antagonist.

I get the fact why some people oppose Laura. She’s confident in who she is, she’s gone to therapy and has this maturity many people only dream off. It can come off as intimidating. But the relationship she has with Bradley is healthy. They care for each other, they aren’t trying to benefit from one another. I’ve seen some people saying Laura’s using Bradley to get some kind of rep with UBA which makes no sense at all. She is well established on her own, as is Bradley.

By ep10, Laura has laid out her concerns that if Bradley doesn’t put up boundaries for her family she will never heal from her traumatic childhood and as harsh as it sounds it is the truth.  I have bipolar disorder myself, I know how hard it is on my family. I personally have not dealt with addiction but I know people who’s families have been destroyed by it. Bradley has tried, she has paid for Hal’s rehab in the past and ha been there for him, unconditionally. With no results. The idea that we are responsible for our family members, and that we have to lose ourselves for them is very patriarchal. And Laura does not manipulate Bradley to cut Hal off, she does not order her to do so. She laid out her concerns and gave her, good healthy advise. 

In contrast to Laura, Cory immediately jumps to help Bradley to search for Hal. But we need to know that there is another reason for him to be doing that and that being that he is responsible for Hal coming to NYC, Hal losing it over Bradley’s outing (which was h o r r i b l e and traumatic for me as a queer person btw) by being the one who outed Bradley in the first place. We knew that Corey had feelings for Bradley because he got hurt when he heard the gossip about her and Laura. He sleazes his way to get a permission to run the story, by again, manipulating her. He did not out Bradley just because they wanted to protect Hannah, he outed Bradley and Laura because in a way he felt it was his right by, in his mind, being led on by Bradley. And in the midst for searching for Hal, he decides to have this moment to declare his love for Bradley, which in my opinion just further tells us he isn’t doing anything for Bradley, or Hal, or anyone but himself. It is not romantic, is is not friendship. It is greed.

So to sum it up I really hope the show won’t start running in circles, because that’s what happens of they try to make Corey and Bradley a couple. I get the excitement, but it’s not sustainable. Laura and Bradley could make a sustainable, loving, caring couple and that is something that the LGBTQ+ community still needs to see be represented on tv, especially for wlw couples. If they used Bradley’s plot line of her exploring her sexuality to only further plot twists for her to end up with Corey? That is in my opinion homophobic storytelling and it needs to be addressed. 

And if that is the way they choose to take the story I won't be tuning in for s3.

so..... Am I the only one who heard the reverse-akuma as "kumiko" and think that makes more sense, both for pronunciation and for meaning?

I went to google this after I watched the special last month.

Now... I could try and find out what the exact meaning for the names could be, but instead I'll try to see what the crew would have thought a good re-name for these reverse-akuma could be from the POV of "what would this character name a good version of his power".

Now, commonly, the word "Akuma" means "demon" - fitting for HawkMoths Butterfly, I was a bit annoyed with the choice first when the show aired, but I'm so used to it now, I don't really question it anymore why the crew decided on this name. it seems like looking for simple pronunciation and recognition were at play here.

I find that because our ordinary evil!Gabe has always names things in sly but very direct ways, reverse!Gabriel would probably use babyname sites for inspiration for names etc. - as you do when you have access to the internet and are out of ideas.

Kumiko - Meaning: Companion child; Drawing together; Forever beautiful child

Kamiko - Meaning: Fragrant ocean child, "Little Goddess"

we don't know the exact kanji, so I can't actually say what the real meaning it would be. for example, japanese-names.info lists a similar meaning to both of these, depending on the spelling. to a native japanese speaker, the meaning would probably be obvious and then the reason for picking the name as well, like with the original "akuma"

but, considering how the crew on this show likes to name things - by going for the most obvious solutions, but also mirroring things in this special ep - the first one seems more plausible just by those reasons alone. But also, I feel like even if we didn't consider japanese pronunciation (as is often done in other-language productions, to adhere to local pronunciation so the word/spelling is easier to understand), it seems like it would be easier to pronounce this way in english.

I can only deduce that re-naming the akuma butterflies, they must have found the same search results I did the first time, and just went for it. Or maybe someone in the crew knows more japanese and chinese vocabulary/names than they're letting on in the show-proper.

The only real difference as a person's name, comes down to the differences between the "ku" and "ka" syllibles. I could probably find out more if i go to https://www.romajidesu.com/ and did a deep dive about the different meanings of these two syllables in ordinary words as well.

so.. even if i didn't know much about japanese as a language (i don't know much in any case anyway, besides how to pronounce japanese words and names) imo - sounds like smth the crew would use-just bc it sounds like an almost reversal/anagram of akuma - it's just gotta have that "ku" in there.

The second choice also becomes plausible once you think of the work "Kami" for "god" being the direct opposition to "demon", the original version we see in the actual show. "a small companion" vs "a small god" - seeing it from this POV, both seem possible good meanings, if you start to expand on them like that. + r!Gabe does have the whole angel-theme going on.

I am holding my preference with "kumiko" because I picture that when they made reverse!Gabe, they probably pictured that his version of the akuma would be re-imagined as a companion, rather than something that takes over. But the angel motif on the other side, does feel like it "takes over" as well, just in a different way.

As an aside note, I found it funny how much they'd managed to change reverse!Hawkmoth as Betterfly. Like. Completely different character. Still has Gabriel's face so I want to punch him, but. At least he is interesting and sorta entertaining to watch on screen? I guess? sdfsdfs it's just very entertaining to me, to see Keith (both Halwkmoth/Betterfly's VA) play another completely different version of this character (pancake-Gabe and movie-Gbe I am looking at you)

2nd: I sorta hate the word "akumatized", but you gotta hand it, it sounds better than "kamikotized" - vs "kumikotized" '- I guess would have the same weird effect as "akumatized" the first time you watch it, that it sounds un-natural as a word a bit, but then you slowly grow into hearing it.

anyways.... both are girl names, but kumiko is literally what I heard Keith Silverstein pronounce lol

dog or cat person: cat person! she's a bit like morrigan when it comes to dogs. thinks they're stupid n gross lol. though she does eventually warm up to the dog (named assan by andrale <3) in dao.

dream trip: honestly anywhere is fine she is full of wanderlust... what living in a tower for 19 years does to a gal... the whole blight adventure is a dream trip to her i bet. yes she has to fight darkspawn and a horrible death is around every corner but consider: she gets to see ancient elven ruins and denerim and orzammar... so many sights to see and so many new experiences! she feels so alive! and she gets to use her powers to their full extent!! she gets to hone her skills beyond what the circle allowed!!! not that the circle's rules stopped her from studying outlawed magic in secret but like. now she doesn't have to do it in secret anymore.

a trip to tevinter would also be interesting from a purely academic standpoint. nevarra as well because it's more liberal with magic than most of thedas but also safer for her than tevinter? so basically she would like to see the whole world but especially places where she gets to expand her knowledge on magic...

celyn is basically the toph to andrale's katara. they have somewhat clashing personalities and differing views on teamwork and the sharing of camp chores... andrale expects everyone to contribute while celyn only looks after herself. also despite her excitement she's kinda terrified to be out in the real world but she won't let it show!! so she acts hyper-independent!!! unfortunately for her andrale can see right through this facade and she calls celyn out on it (she tries to be gentle and constructive about it but she's had it with celyn's shit and fails). so. yea. my point is they argue a lot at first lol! but they become great friends once celyn learns teamwork and communication and andrale loosens up a little

whenever she does fire magic she makes the flames hot enough for them to turn blue, purely for the aesthetic. she also enjoys other ways of showing off with her magic and she was Very competitive in the circle. she simply had to be the best in her class and let the other students know that she was above them. most of her fellow students could not stand her because of this <3

new nmixx album came out so i'm gonna put out me thoughts (aka how much can I stop myself from saying change up for the funnies)

- obviously first off it's excellent, i'd argue better than expérgo, probably because all the songs all fit eachother while also having enough sonic differences to stand out AND also show the girls's vocal and genre chops (expérgo did a similar thing but followed the sonic through-line a little too much, still like that album tho) - i gotta give points 2 soñar since like i didn't expect any of the chord progressions that go on in the song (like where the melody goes) - shoutouts to DASH and BOOM for bringing back the mixxpop stuff full force AND also doing the genre mixing like i wanted them to do (BOOM's genre switches is so fucking clean its incredible) - about both of these songs: I think subgenre switching (ie something like how j-edm does it) is easier than full on genre swapping like mixpop is but DASH integrates it very well (has a little dnb deepcut right after the rock stuff) and BOOM's transitions are even cleaner, probably because its more of a rhythm change rather than a full instrumentation change - run for roses totally sounds like young K had a part in writing it (in a good way) and this is also where I'm gonna say NMIXX's use of stuff like violins (this song) and horns sections (DASH) definitely elevate their music since both of those are kinda underutilized in kpop production. very montero esque - i said it already but that switch-up in BOOM to that dark ass mau5trap/EDDIE/No Mana type synthwave beat hit DIFFERENT. also there being tempo speedups and slowdowns in this album YES YES YES YES that's the idea. mixxpop doesn't just have to be genre changes they gotta go CRAZAYYYY - DWILLY produced passionfruit god damn!!!! he's making a lot of bank doing kpop stuff he was on TXT's name chapter freefall AND key's good & great, i love his sound and nmixx slots very nicely into it - XOXO is like DASH and passionfruit had a baby its a good mellow point in the record. i guess nmixx was also built for rnb/hip hop but considering their concept they're built for basically anything - good to know nmixx has their star lost/concert ender with break the wall, makes me feel like waving a lightstick around with confetti coming down from the venue ceiling (just reminds me of the stray kids show again... i gotta see these girls live) all in all very very VERY good work good strives and improvements. the exponential growth is kicking in and it's only been like... 2 years? im very proud of the girlies. anyway ramble over LOL

OKAY SO BMC RANT TIME!!!!! (VERY LONG)

I don't think I've seen anyone talk about this but, you know how Christine dates Jake before she dates Jeremy at the end of the play?? I thought about it and there's like a ton of reasons why Christine and Jeremy's relationship is much better!! (I'm basing this on the Broadway production, because I know stuff and lines change from one production to the other)

1) Conversations

So with Jake you can kind of notice how he's the one who speaks more when him and Christine are having a conversation, also, you can even see how he interrupts Christine when she talks sometimes (Like in Upgrade, he asks her if she feels that way and doesn't even let her finish before he continues to go on about it), also it kind of feels like whatever Christine says doesn't really affect the conversation, like he isn't talking to Christine, he's talking to a girl, who happens to be Christine, I don't know if that last bit made sense

But with Jeremy you can tell he actually does listen to her, like not just that but he remembers what she says too!! Like for example, after she told him about the performance art she wants to do just before A guy that I'd kinda be into, he asks her out on a date to the bowling alley to do it. Also, he doesn't interrupt her, like not once, in some parts he actually waits a little more to answer (probably because he's flustered or smth but anyways). You could also argue that this just flips the thing around and makes Jeremy not talk, but that's just because he's not really talkative, he's more shy and stuff, but when he does talk Christine just listens to him, everytime.

2) Christine's behaviour (?)

This can actually be seen pretty well if you compare I love play rehearsal and the bit where she talks to Jake after that. In both situations she's talking about Play Rehearsal, something that she loves!! With Jake we can see she acts pretty calm, like the only excited like thing she reacts with is when she says "A bow! It's called a bow!!" but that's pretty much it. She's also prompted to speak to him since he starts the conversation first. In the other hand, with Jeremy you can see she just kind of feels like she can rant about it, because she just starts to go on without Jeremy having really said anything to prompt her to, she even apologizes in the end of the song ("sorry, I get carried away") and Jeremy just kind of tells her not to apologizes.

Christine: Sorry, I get carried away

Jeremy: No! I wish I loved anything as much as you love play rehearsal!

You can also see that when she's singing about it she does all these dramatic poses and silly moves (like the karate chop), you can clearly see she doesn't with Jake!!

3) Asking out

So this might not be as relevant maybe as the other points, but in both cases Christine is the one who gets asked out. Once by Jake in "Upgrade" (because he officially like asks her out then, even tho they did agree to hang out earlier, in the conversation after I love play rehearsal) and twice by Jeremy, first one she says no because she just broke up with Jake and in the second one she actually accepts.

I wouldn't say Jake forces her to date him, alike at all, but it does kind of feel like he gives her less time to think about it at the very least, mainly you can see it in the lines from upgrade:

Christine: Well I am flattered this is new, still I don't know what I should do-

Jake: You gotta take the upgrade! Gotta get an upgrade!

But, with Jeremy, you can see the only reason he asked Christine out so soon after the break up with Jake is because he couldn't really read the situation I think. Like he just saw that she told him "It's kinda killer to sit and chat with you" which to Jeremy meant she did like him, so he just did it without thinking twice. You can actually see the second time he's a bit more doubtful about it (maybe it's because of what I said or Maybe it's just because he still feels bad that he gave her a SQUIP).

4) Reaction

This one is more simple I guess, but you can clearly see a difference in Jake and Jeremy's reactions to Christine accepting to go out with them. In upgrade (as I said, this is when it feels like he asks her out more officially) we don't really get to see his exact reaction because she doesn't explicitly say yes (I might be remembering wrong though) but it does seem like Jake was kind of unbothered? Like he probably had like a "chill" reaction (yes, that was a pun). Whereas with Jeremy, when she does say yes he gets all excited and quite literally cheers ("Wooo-hooo!!" I love his reaction). He's also like super nervous while Christine is saying the "me and the voices in my head, have made up our collective minds..."

5) Body language?

Now I'm not an expert on this, or even good at body language but I'll just point out the obvious. When Christine and Jake are talking they just. Sit. Like they don't really do much, it feels more like two classmates chatting or something. With Jeremy you can tell they're really happy to be talking or something?? Like they do the little weird noises together, the whole A guy that I'd kinda be into choreography thing just explains this perfectly, they do like a dance and then he picks her up and stuff, it's just adorable. Now that I think about it, is this even considered body language??

Anyways, hope you enjoyed my rant!! Feel free to disagree, I'm just talking about my opinion. Maybe I'm just overanalyzing this and I might as well be biased towards Jeremy or something bshsgs
