Y'all are trying to Jeyne Poole Nettles and Alys for no reason.
They are some of the coolest characters of the dance, and certain people are trying to place their literal opposites in their plots. Rhaena is so different from Nettles and has her own plot in the book. Helaena, although the show tried to add more, is a set character during the dance. These women and girls' stories are not interchangable for the sake of ships in the fandom. You can write exclusions for them in fanfictions but to interchange them is careless when it comes to the overall story, character defining moments and it will do what Game of Thrones did to Jeyne Poole and Sansa in season six. It significantly reduces the plot of Aemond, Daemon and Theon when you replace Jeyne, Nettles and Alys with Sansa, Rhaena and Helaena because it reduces the nature of the storyline if all these men sacrifice for are well bred, high born ladies instead of basically nobodies when it comes to the politcal landscape of Westeros. It also betrays the risk of character decisions and motivations when it comes to character growth if there are better reasons to save/run away/protect these characters. This is a song of ice and fire, I assure you you will not like most of these characters' decisions or places in the story. They are fictional characters with their own world mortality that feeds the plot. Those decisions in the dance literally define those characters. Get a grip.

If I was Lord of a powerful house and knew that my son could potentially one day be being shot at by an archer due to his high status, I would teach him to run in a zigzag. No offence to Ed Stark and Rickon Stark but I’m different.

Loras Tyrell was one of the best swordfighters in Westeros, he even defeated Jaimie Lannister at a tourney. But because he was gay, D&D thought that gay men can’t possibly be great fighters.
So they never even bother showing him as the warrior he was. They then decided to make him a victim of gay bashing, torture and gay conversion therapy. And then killed him.

Jon x Sansa : why she doesn't and will not betray. Part 2
Why, in my opinion, the idea that Sansa betrays her brother shows the incomprehension of her character and the relationship she develops with her brother
Since the release of the HBO trailer and the first pictures of the reunion between Jon & Sansa, I read a lot of nonsense like “Sansa will betray”. Again ? It’s been 2 seasons that people are in loop on this subject, 2 seasons where it does not happen. This will certainly not happen in the end.
So, I wanted to make a post on my vision of the Sansa character in the S6 and 7, as well as her relationship with her brother (since it is him she is supposed to betray).
Part 2 : Littlefinger. To shut up.
As for all the lies and secrets about Littlefinger, here’s what I think.
Sansa told her brother that Littlefinger had sold her to the Bolton. Nevertheless, she goes secretly to see him because she needs this confrontation. Her brother would never let her go because now that they found themselves, he is very protective with her. However, she no longer needs / wants to be protected in the sense of “locked in a bubble of illusion while men make the decisions and act for her”. Then, she lies about how she got the information about her uncle because it was not the moment nor important. Her secret meeting with Littlefinger was about her and what she went through. To talk about it in front of men she does not really know was useless and would have made the information unreliable in their eyes, given from who she came from.
Later, she tries to talk to her brother about what to do to have more men. But Jon, the only time she does, seems immediately irritated, gets angry and goes away quickly. Sansa is overwhelmed by the situation. Her idealism of loyalty to which she clings desperately is falling apart. Her brother does not listen to her and relies on Davos, a man she does not know and who served Stannis just before (which does not help her to trust).
Then comes a desperate idea: to ask Val’s help despite the fact that she told Littlefinger that she did not want to see him again. She does not know if her message will arrive at her destination, neither if Lord Baelish will come to help him or if he will have enough men. But that’s the only choice she can have. And if she does not tell Jon about it, it’s because she does not know if the Val is coming, that her brother might not want Littlefinger’s help and that, deep down, she’s confuse. She does not know what she can say to her brother or not. What he will take badly or not.
Some said that she blames Jon for not including her in the conversation but that she could have spoken. Yet, whether on screen or in the script, we are shown that Jon’s advisors deliberately turn their backs and form like a wall excluding her from the conversation. She is not yet the lady of Winterfell and, therefore, does not really have the right to speak. Sansa sees it and feels it. She understands where her place is, even if it makes it worse. She finally speaks only once alone with her brother. Of course what she tells him then may seem a little obvious or not detailed. But it should be remembered that it’s only expressed at the end, in a quick way and she is not a military. She knows things (she saw how Ramsay had encircled Stannis just as he will do to Jon) but has trouble expressing them concretely on the spot in front of a brother who does not really listen to her. After, of course, she could have told him. But she did not do it and we can not go back. The important thing is that what she did helped them avoid being slaughtered. And they win. She apologized to her brother and understood her mistake.
The important point, I think, is to make it clear that Sansa (just like Jon) is learning. She has not yet arrived at the stage of the adults of this world who have the experience etc… (and who nevertheless manage to be mistaken). She learns to find her place, to express herself, to trust again, to lead, etc … And it is by making mistakes and recognizing them that she evolves.
Sansa tries her best. She clings to her family and her name. She clings to this brother whom she learns to love and from whom she wants to be loved. We see her proudly making a Stark outfit and making another to her brother, happy to help him feel legitimate. She is annoyed by Lord Glover’s demeanor and she coldly reminds him of his allegiance to Stark House. Then stands proud in front of him when he gets angry and reminds them of their brother’s mistakes and what it has cost in the North.
In short, we see Sansa, gradually, become Lady Stark.

Jon x Sansa : why she doesn't and will not betray. Part 1
Part 1 : Reunion and beginning of their relationship
When Jon & Sansa meet, they are both at the lowest and each will draw in the presence of the other the strength to relive. However, neither of them really knows each other. They have never been close children, and now that they have grown up, they have lived so much dramas that even them find it difficult to understand and accept who they have become.
Despite all this, and the difficulty of their memories, they will spend the first hours of their reunion to tell most of their misadventure. Which shows their need, finally, to confide in someone. This is also what a family is for: someone from whom one can lay down one’s burden, reveal one’s vulnerability, one’s wounds and let oneself be really ourselves.
However, Jon & Sansa both have weaknesses, secrets and demons that they are not ready to share. It is not really a lack of trust (even if, in fact, they get to know each other and so trust is built up little by little) but mainly a fear of being rejected. This, it seems to me, is one of the major points of their interactions and problems during season 6.
Jon is afraid that his sister will eventually return to her old habits and see him as a bastard. He feels illegitimate and inferior to her. While Sansa is afraid to talk about her confused relationship with Littlefinger and all that that entails (covering the murder of her aunt, allowing herself to be manipulated to the point of accepting the marriage with Ramsay etc …). She is afraid that her brother will not understand and that he may depreciate her. But each needs the other terribly. In addition to these secrets and weaknesses, there is what gnaws at them from the inside. Jon is devastated by his murder and no longer feels alive. Sansa is devoured by hatred for her husband, her fear of him and the fact that people can see her as a Bolton. Which will be the case. In seasons 6 & 7, several people will remind Sansa that she was married to two families who were enemies of hers. The end of season 6 is also quite funny and poetic since the bastard ends up king and is legitimized by his sister while Sansa, who is no longer a Stark since her (both) marriage (normally, we keep the name of her husband even after his death), becomes Lady Stark of Winterfell.
So, we have 2 people, who are from the same family but have never felt connected, who become the most important person in the life of the other.
Sansa’s desire for revenge and her fear of her husband (who will never stop chasing her) forces her to want, for once, to attack and take back her house. Ramsay’s letter with his direct threat to everyone, plus the revelation of Rickon’s captivity, will rally Jon to her cause. I would like to mention something here. Many people say that Sansa was horrible and manipulated Jon to fight for their brother while she knew that he was doomed. I do not agree. In my opinion, Sansa, while suspecting that the chances were minimal, still had the hope of saving her brother. It is only in episode 9 that she understands that he is doomed. It’s appear clear when Rickon’s wolf’s head is thrown in front of Jon & Sansa. The camera focuses on Sansa looking at the head and slowly raising hateful eyes towards her husband. It follows a long exchange of glance during which her husband smiled in a way I understand clearly that Rickon was suppose to die (if he wasn’t already). And it is after this understanding that Sansa tells her husband that he will die and then leave. She say what she understood about Rickon’s fate right after to Jon.
