It's November. It's November first. Yesterday was October 31st, so October is over. ...it's over. Is it over?

Inktober, artober, whumptober, flufftober, linktober, every tag ending with -tober that's been circulating for the past month... is it over? I don't know why it's just hit me but...

This matters. So I will try to get the message across, even though I'm not the best at it sometimes

This is my first October on tumblr. When I started seeing the "tober" tags, seeing the posts from artists with wips, saying they were going to make something every day to a prompt, making masterposts to update with each day, I thought "cool"

But every day this month, I have gotten on here and smiled.

And I don't mean smiled. I mean I smiled at least 20 times every time I got on the app because I saw all the art and fics. I got to see artists/writers connect stories through different day prompts. I saw people having the most brilliant ideas and creativity, flowing from their hands into their posts. I saw artists responding to continuous asks, telling them how amazing they are. I saw artists getting behind, and keeping going.

I saw Free. Beautiful. Emotional. Amazing. Original. Creative. Art.

Every day

I haven't committed to anything of this before, so I can't directly relate to what you guys were thinking and feeling. But I'm willing to guess; I think you probably enjoyed it, because most won't do such a huge project unless they enjoy it. I think you probably saw it as a challenge you were willing to fulfill, and an opportunity to grow and develop your skills.

... but I'm also willing to bet you did it for us. For people like me, who love art, but don't do this specific type, who are in fandoms, who love tracking and watching you art and sending you compliments, who take joy in your work. For the other artists (and writers!) who admire each others styles and love to learn from each other.

If anyone ever tries to tell me that humans are inherently evil again, I will strap them to a chair, pull up these posts and say look. Look at what these people did. Look me in the eyes and tell me these sorts of actions don't come from the most loving hearts. Tell me these people don't want to make others happy, that they aren't inherently good. And I will tell you you're wrong.

I have so much going on, yet somehow it slipped into my life that I was constantly looking at your art for the joy of it without me even noticing.

And how is it possible. That we have such a beautiful community of people here that we will share. And communicate. And exchange compliments. And literally do things and send asks solely for the purpose of making someone smile.

I'm almost crying by now. God I can't express it well enough! But I am so. So. Grateful

You guys brought me a month of joy! You gave headcanons, and art, and stories!

Even yesterday, Halloween, I was blown away. Because I had expected... I didn't expect anything. And then I log on and see people sending happy halloween asks, exchanging doodles of candy, and headcanons and gifs.

And some are still catching up to the schedule or whatever, and that's ok! But at the beginning of this post, when I was simply realizing it was November, I asked myself "is it over?"

Is it over?

... I don't think so. I've seen artists say they're going to continue and expand on a piece they made and especially liked this month. Some people are still continuing, catching up to a voluntary deadline. All those masterposts with your whump/fluff/link/ink tober art? I know many as well as myself will be going through, looking over your posts with smiles, catching up on some things they missed this month... it will continue in the people and artists I didn't know existed before, but now follow. In the skills and growth in creativity! In the community we've grown, and art you've made, and the art to come, at a normal rate like every other month, even if it's not October anymore!

But my artists, writers... thank you so much. I don't know if you guys know how valuable and amazing you are. How incredible it is that you exist! People say it's amazing we exist under a sky of such stars, but how incredible is it that you made a stranger on the internet smile every day! Your life is so. So. Valuable. I can't even express how grateful I am that you exist, that you somehow are selfless enough to share the most beautiful parts of yourself simply to create, and to create joy. Thank you so so much.

(And this applies to all artists, in any fandoms, not just mine. And I'm just as grateful to people who couldn't do something every day, or only one day! You still share your art, you're just as... incredible. You are incredible.)

So I'm gonna do this, and if others want to do it in the reblogs that's great! I do not care at all about reblogging or likes, but I want to make the people that have brought me such joy some appreciation- I hope I can bring you even a smidgen of the light you have brought into my life. You’re curled up on the couch with him, eating and watching a movie while your phone charges. Eventually, you reach for it and notice an insane amount of notifications.

"What the hell?" you murmur, unlocking it. Your jaw drops as you see your TikTok video has blown up. Thousands of comments flood in—

"Look at how he’s looking at her." "OMG, he’s so in love with her." "I need a man to look at me like that." "This just made me feel so single." "She’s so hot, he’s lucky."

Your stomach drops as you quickly rewatch the video. That’s when you see it—

Through the mirror’s reflection, he had been standing in the doorway the entire time, completely mesmerized by you.

"Oh my god."

Then, just as your embarrassment peaks, you see his comment:

"Oh, she’s definitely getting it tonight 🤤"

Your phone nearly slips out of your hand.

Lewis

You gasp and slap his arm. “Lewis!”

He lets out a deep chuckle, eyes twinkling with amusement. “What?”

“Did you really have to comment that?!” you exclaim, face burning.

He smirks, leaning closer. “Why? It’s true.”

You shove his face away, groaning. “Oh my god, I’m going to delete it.”

“No, you’re not.” He swiftly takes your phone, holding it above his head while you struggle to grab it.

"Lewis, give it back!"

"Nope," he grins, "you should be thanking me for hyping you up."

You narrow your eyes. "You're insufferable."

He leans in, lips brushing against your ear. "And yet, you love me."

Damn it. He’s right.

Charles

Your face burns as you shove his shoulder. “Charles! Why would you comment that?!”

He bursts into laughter, completely unbothered. “What? It’s the truth, no?”

You groan, burying your face in your hands. “The whole world didn’t need to know that!”

He tilts his head, smirking. “You’re acting like they don’t already know how much I love you.”

Your heart skips a beat.

Charles leans in, whispering, “Besides… now they know what to expect tonight.”

You smack his arm again, but he only grins wider, completely enjoying your flustered state.

Max

Your stomach drops. “Max, please tell me you did not just comment that.”

He shrugs, fighting a smirk. “I mean, it’s not a lie.”

You groan, covering your face. “I hate you.”

He chuckles, wrapping an arm around you. “No, you don’t.”

You glare up at him. “What if my parents see that?!”

Max snorts. “Your mom already likes my comment.”

Your eyes widen in horror. He laughs even harder, pulling you closer. “Face it, schat, you’re stuck with me.”

Oscar

You nearly drop your phone, whipping around to face him. “Oscar! Seriously?!”

He bites his lip, barely holding back a laugh. “What?”

You gesture wildly at the screen. “That comment! ‘She’s definitely getting it tonight’—are you insane?!”

He chuckles, playing innocent. “I’m just stating facts.”

You groan, throwing a pillow at him. He catches it with ease, grinning. “Don’t be mad, babe. It’s kinda cute seeing you all flustered.”

You glare. “You are never living this down.”

Oscar smirks. “That’s fine. As long as I get to prove my comment right.”

Your face burns as he winks at you.

Lando

Your jaw drops. “Lando, WHAT THE HELL?!”

He bursts out laughing, falling back on the couch. “Oh my god, your face right now!”

You smack his arm repeatedly. “That was NOT funny!”

He’s wheezing at this point. “Babe, you should see the comments. Everyone’s obsessed with how I look at you.”

You pout. “That’s not the point, Lando.”

He grins, wrapping an arm around you. “Fine, fine. I’ll make it up to you.”

You narrow your eyes. “How?”

He smirks. “Let’s just say… my comment won’t be a lie.”

You groan, pushing his face away while he laughs.

Carlos

You turn to Carlos, horrified. “Carlos! Did you seriously just post that?!”

He smirks, leaning back with a satisfied expression. “Sí. Why?”

You groan. “You’re so embarrassing!”

Carlos shrugs. “It’s true, though.” He leans in, voice dropping to a whisper. “And I don’t lie, cariño.”

Your breath hitches. “I hate you.”

He grins. “No, you don’t. Now, finish eating, so we have energy for later.”

You blush furiously while he chuckles, clearly enjoying your reaction.

Jenson

You clutch your chest. “Jenson, why would you comment that?!”

He smirks, sipping his drink. “Because it’s true, love.”

You glare. “Do you have any shame?”

“None whatsoever.”

You sigh dramatically. “I can’t believe I’m dating you.”

He leans in, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “And yet, you are. Lucky me.”

Damn it. You can’t even stay mad.

Sebastian

Your heart races as you read his comment. “Seb, what is WRONG with you?!”

He grins innocently. “Nothing, why?”

You wave your phone. “‘She’s definitely getting it tonight’—DO YOU HAVE NO FILTER?!”

Seb shrugs. “Should I delete it?”

You nod frantically.

He smirks. “Too late. It’s already viral.”

You groan, burying your face in your hands.

Sebastian chuckles, pulling you into his arms. “Don’t worry, liebling. If anything, now everyone knows just how much I adore you.”

You sigh, defeated. “I hate you.”

He grins. “I love you too.”

omg part two for hotch scrolling through your ig pretty please 😭😭 like IMAGINE penelope gathering the rest of the gang so they can collectively stalk your instagram and she accidentally likes one of your pictures while lurking

Penelope isn't often scared of Hotch, because the man has a soft spot for her, and she knows it. But now he's staring at her with a stern glare, something she's not usually on the receiving end of. She shifts on her heels, strangely speechless.

"Sir? Is everything okay?"

He lets her suffer in silence for a moment longer, then gestures towards his phone face-up on the desk. It's lit up with a text notification, and she faintly recognizes the name that it's attached to.

Y/N Y/L/N: Isn't this your computer whiz?

"Open it." Hotch instructs, his voice unfailingly calm, which sets Penelope even further on edge. She reaches out with a trembling finger to tap on the notification and it opens your thread, the screen entirely consumed with a screenshot you'd taken of your instagram. Sure enough, in your notifications page is a note: baby_girl_penny_g liked your photo.

"Um," Penelope stalls, and despite her rampant creativity, she can't bring herself to fib, "Well, I- the tags were-"

"There were no hashtags," Hotch stops her in her tracks, "The only way you could have found that photo was on her profile. How long ago was that posted?"

Penelope scrolls to the bottom of the post even though she doesn't want to, and mutters "2018."

"Five years ago. Five-" Hotch steels himself before he gets too upset, pinching the slim bridge of his nose, "Garcia, did Morgan tell you about this?"

"it wasn't his fault," She pleads his case, "I could tell there was something on his mind! So I got him, like, super drunk, and we-"

"Penelope, this was none of your business." Hotch speaks over her. He doesn't like cutting her off, but he knows her, and she'll talk for hours just to try and weasel her way back into his good graces. He watches her squirm with a stern expression, hands folded on his desk while he clenches his jaw.

"I won't tell anyone else." She promises weakly, and Aaron raises a single eyebrow at her. Secret-keeping is not her forte, and they both know it.

"Okay, so-" She crumples, "I- I totally will. But Hotch, we're gonna be happy for you! I'm already happy for you, you deserve this! You deserve love, even if you try to use this job as an excuse not to find it! You found it, and you should own it."

"I purposefully did not share the status of my relationship with our team. It was meant to be private."

Penelope regains some of her boldness now, even in the face of Hotch's scowl, "Well tough shit, Hotchner! We love you, and we were all there when you lost Haley! We watched you die inside, and we deserve to watch you live again! We are part of your family, Hotch, whether you like it or not, and we're not gonna walk away just because you get snippy with us! So help me, Hotch, I will handcuff myself to you until you realize that we are here. We are here, and we love you, and we always will! You can tell us about your life, because we want to enjoy it with you."

Perhaps she shouldn't have been so forward. Perhaps she shouldn't have said the H-word, or brought up Hotch's infuriating tendency to distrust people's care for him not out of malice, but out of self-loathing. Perhaps she should have hung her head and apologized, but Penelope Garcia is headstrong, and she does not fear the tense wrath of Aaron Hotchner simply for loving him.

For a moment, she worries that she's flaunted a red cape around a bull. Reid's words echo in her mind about how it's nothing to do with the color red, and everything to do with the movement of the fabric, but now is not the time, Doctor Reid, thank you very much. She waits for him to charge, knows he'll withdraw now that she's faced him with the terror of being known, of being cared for, and she can feel her heart sink to the nearly-numb heels of her feet.

Then something in his jaw shifts, and he glances away from her, blinking.

"Thank you." He murmurs, and she thinks she may have heard him wrong.

"What?" She whispers, and he gnaws at the inside of his cheek, caving it in.

"Thank you. For being firm with me." He clarifies, "I... I'm glad that you're here."

Tears spring to her eyes and she nods vigorously, incapable of speech but overflowing with emotion. He swallows, clearing his throat, "In the future, please do not stalk my romantic partners. And... in the future, I will introduce you, so that you don't need to stalk them."

"Okay," She grins through her misty eyes, letting him steer the conversation back towards his comfort zone, "Okay, Hotch. We love you. And- and we're really happy for you, and can I please go and tell the others?"

He laughs despite himself, and doesn't bother steeling himself into composure anymore. He grins, "Fine. But leave out the details of her most recent posts, please."

"The ones where she talks about being sore in the mornings?" She fixes him with a devious grin, already making for the door intent on shouting the news from the rooftops, "I won't say it in the bullpen, 'cause Reid couldn't handle it, but I'm totally gossiping with the girls about it, Hotch."
