Welp, and as promised here's me once again restarting up WIP Wednesdays! I think we can all agree to just forget the fact that my last update for one of these was back in *checks archive* NOVEMBER????? Oh, uh shit. Huh. Damn that creativity slump was really kicking my ass there for a bit oops. Did not realize that it had been an entire four months since I last shared anything lol.
So, from the bottom of my heart: my bad. So please find it in your hearts to forgive me asjdhjakshdas.
Thankfully at least, I think I'm starting to find a nice after work/morning routine that should hopefully keep that creativity up again. Four mornings are spent cross-stitching for a couple of hours with a little bit of pc gaming afterwards, one (which is smack dab in the middle of those four days) is like 4-6 hours hanging out in a starbucks/library and ONLY writing, and the other two mornings are my days off of work where I just game for like 12 hours straight lmao. Routines are good for the heart and soul me thinks.
Plus, the slightly warmer weather and more sun is making me feel WAY better about life and picking my ass up out of that seasonal depression so that also helps a shit ton not gonna lie lol.
Enough taking about me trying to get some semblance of a life back together, here's the shit that (almost) everyone's actually here for: a teensy little sneak peak from my new outlast au piece!
The only reason that Ashley refused to give in to the pain though, was because she knew that no matter what pain she was currently feeling, Chris was feeling it magnitudes worse. That he could feel far more than the metal slicing into muscle, that he could feel the stickiness of the blood that coated Josh's back, the fabric of the more than likely entirely soaked jumpsuit digging into the cuts and making them only sting more. That he could feel each and every one of the small pieces of rubble that still continued to dig into the bloody palms of Josh's hands, left nearly shredded from his frantic attempts to chip at the thick wall of his padded prison cell in order to make a gap just barely wide enough for him to squeeze through. All as he dealt with not only the insistent, burning itch in Ashley's left arm from where the word carved there was still healing—plus whatever other aches and pains she had gained in the last couple of hours since her long-awaited release—but his own long, angry, and still weakly bleeding gash on his right arm. A parting gift from one Rick Traegar during his own desperate escape from the confines of the Male Ward. A ward that he had only barely managed to escape with his life in that first hour.
And now for the bit for the people who don't give a shit about my writing: cross-stitch update! Obviously not a huge amount of progress since my last pic, since I've only sewn once since then. But that skiploom is certainly coming along okay and should hopefully be finished tomorrow morning if everything goes smoothly!
#wip wednesday#my writing#cross stitch#until dawn#pokemon#outlast au#climbing chrash#is it bad that i missed putting these poor kids through absolute hell on earth and terrible emotional/physical trauma?#cause i really really have lol#anyways cross your fingers for me on friday morning when i sit down for another quarter-day session of writing#got one of my roommates to pick me up some earplugs when they went grocery shopping yesterday#and if i'm really lucky they'll be able to block out all noise so i won't get distracted from writing by the music playing in the starbucks#or the noise of people walking around me and talking in both places#or thats the hope at least lol#that what i really need when it comes time to concentrate when writing is just quiet#though i suppose also going to see a doctor and maybe getting back on my meds would help too now that i think about it#considering those meds are literally just to help me concentrate and focus on shit sjkdhaskdjhasd

Next chapter ~>
Chapter 1
It was cold. No, not just any kind of cold… It. was. freaking. FREEZING. You thought I was going to say something really poetic right? Well not really. It was saturday and I was on my way to the grocery store, because one has to eat something right. Something except canned food and take out at least.I groaned, I hated cold weather. Muffling my face even deeper in my scarf I speed walked down the street, almost slipping a few times on the icy sidewalk. I may sound pretty grumpy like this and well I was grumpy. But it’s not how I usually am, I swear! The streets were filled with people, walking all heads faced to the ground to prevent their face from getting blown off by the frosty wind. I was almost at the store, thank God, I could get out of this freezing cold.
The store felt like a tropical island, so I freed my face relieved from my scarf. The place was surprisingly pretty empty. There were two old ladies bickering about what type of cookies a girl named Alice would like best and a teen hanging around in the candy aisle acting a bit too suspicious. I walked down the aisles and starting looking for the stuff I needed. Give me some discounts! Give me some discounts! Give me some discounts! Please! As someone who’s currently jobless I really can’t pay for all your fancy stuff! I sighed. I should really find a job soon. I looked at my shopping list. Alright only some coffee and I’m done! To the coffee aisle! I marched to the aisle, taking the turn and then… stopped. Apparently there was someone else in the store I didn’t saw earlier on. It seemed to be a girl, young woman…? Because of her a long coat and fluffy hat I couldn’t really tell. She was holding two packages of coffee in her hands, inspecting the packages intensely. On the ground next to her stood a basket, filled to the brim with even more coffee. I approached her and reached to grab a package on the shelf in front of her. She woke up from her thoughts and stumbled back. ‘Ah! Sorry! Go ahead’ I took the package and smiled at her. Her eyes were a kind of a warm brown a little lighter than her hair reaching her back. Gosh, she’s pretty! I smiled at her ‘it’s nothing.’ I said goodbye and left to pay.
Finally back at the apartment, I opened the door and went in. After placing the groceries on the table, I screamed: ‘Hey, Sarah!! Come and help me with the groceries!’ ‘Yeah yeah, no need to scream. Just let me finish this chatroom, kay?’ I rolled my eyes and took off my coat. ‘Are you playing that stupid game again?’ At that moment she sauntered into the kitchen phone still in her hands. ‘It’s not stupid! How dare you! Don’t listen to her Yoosung, sweety, she doesn’t know what she’s talking about!’ She stroked her phone lovingly. I chuckled. ‘Well you can tell your “darling Yoosung” goodbye now, I need your help with dinner’ She put her phone down. ‘Alright, alright, what do you want me to do, chef?’ ‘Wash the vegetables for me, will ya?’ She put her dark brown hair up in a ponytail and took the veggies out of the bags. ‘Okii! No problem!’ She kept talking on and on about the game she was playing while splashing water around. Apparently a friend of hers showed her and now she’s obsessed with it. I have to admit it sounded interesting. ‘You know, I didn’t really know which one to pick at first, like, Zen is very nice and charming. Although I guess he would love his own reflection more than me’ I chuckled at the comment. ‘Actually! I wanted to pick Seven first, he’s such a dork yet really mysterious, but it seems you have to unlock the deep story for that.’ She pouted but went on almost immediately. ‘But Yoosung, he is such a cutie! Although his hair looks a bit weird so I’m going for his route!’ And she kept on going like that for a few minutes. I didn’t mind it though, it kept my mind distracted from wandering to the girl in the store… I didn’t know why, but I kept on thinking about her. I didn’t even have a full conversation with her, for God’s sake!
‘Hey! Did you know a new coffee shop opened in town a week ago?’ I looked up at her. ‘A friend told’, me she continued. ‘Apparently they’re already pretty popular, even though they’re still new’ ‘But you don’t even like coffee’ I said confused. ‘I know, but they say there are a few cute barista’s working there...’ She winked at me and I rolled my eyes smiling. Of course that was what she was after. ‘Well let’s go there someday, they might sell hot cocoa too, so you don’t have to force yourself drinking coffee’ I walked up to her and patted her head, although she’s a few centimeters taller than me. Her eyes were beaming. ‘Really?! You want to go with me?!’ ‘Yeah sure, why not! That way I can check out if they don’t have a job for me or something. If they just opened, there might be a chance they’re still looking for people.’ and I really needed to find a job as fast as possible. I turned around and stirred the pasta with a spatula. ‘Hey, now that you mention it, I saw this really pretty girl at the shop today’ I stated casually. Sarah gave me a puzzled look. ‘And....??’ ‘I saw her in the coffee aisles, she looked as if she was going to buy every single kind. It looked pretty silly’ I smiled. Sarah saw that and smirked. ‘Let me guess, you have your eyes set on her and want to know if I know her, don’t you?’ I looked at her blushing a little. ‘What!? No! It’s nothing like that!’ although it actually was. Sarah knows a lot of people our age. So when you are looking for someone, she’s the girl to ask. She raised an eyebrow at me. ‘Yeah, suuuuuuure… Come on, what did the mysterious coffee girl look like! Maybe I know her.’ She put her elbows on the counter and her cheeks in her hands, looking at me amused. ‘Well if you insist’ I sighed although I was happy she asked. I described the mystery coffee girl to her. Sarah looked like she was in deep thoughts. ‘No sorry, I don’t know anyone like that’ She said frowning. I pouted. Well it would’ve been too good to be true.
After dinner we did the dishes and Sarah ran off to catch her chatroom. I made myself a cup of coffee, sat myself down and thought of the girl in the shop. Would she be there too the next time I go? No, that’s just stupid! That’s just something that would happen in one of those cliché fanfics Sarah and I read. I looked at the clock. 9 PM. Still a bit early to go to bed. I had to get my mind off of this. I stood up and walked to Sarah’s bedroom. I walked in without knocking and saw her laying on her bad smiling at her phone. ‘Hey, Sarah, wanna watch some anime?’ she looked up and pulled the earplug out of her ears. ‘What?’ ‘I asked if you would wanted to watch some anime’ ‘Yeah sure, just lemme finish this call. I’ll be right there’ ‘Kay’ I turned around to walk away, when she shouted ‘Ow and can you make me some tea, please?’ I looked at her one eyebrow raised. ‘You know, I’m not your slave, right?’ ‘I know! You’re my bestie and besties make each other tea!’ She smiled innocently. I sighed and shook my head. ‘Fine! just remember you don’t deserve a friend like me!’ She stuck out her tongue and I left the room.
I’m telling ya, anime is a great way to relax and get your mind off of things. We were both crying our eyes out when the credits from ‘Kimi no na wa’ came rolling on the screen. Tissues were spread around the room. I took another one and dried my face. ‘That movie was soooo great!!’ I screamed. Sarah was just as messed up as me ‘It really was! the ending got me like-’ She imitated the sound of an explosion and flopped back down on the couch. ‘I would like to have a relationship like that too’ she claimed starry-eyed after a short pause. ‘Where you’re brought together by fate, intertwined in an almost impossible love story, with a good ending nonetheless.’ She sighed theatrical. I was wondering something… ‘Is that why you’re playing that game?’ She looked at me a bit dazed then looked at the ceiling.’No not really, well I don’t think so at least. It’s just fun to play. Don’t worry, I’m not going to fall in love with a fictional character.’ I smiled mockingly. ‘Yeah because you’ve never fallen in love with an anime character, right?’ ‘Hey don’t tease me! I was 15 at the time!’ ‘Yeah yeah, whatever you say’ She slapped me on the arm and tried to look hurt.
She suppressed a smile, but failed miserably and we both burst out laughing. After a minute or two, I looked at the clock. It was already 11PM. ‘Hey we should better get to bed it’s already late.’ She looked at the clock and her eyes widened. ‘Oh gosh!! it’s already this late! I’m gonna miss my chatroom!! Good night, MC!!’ She gave me a quick hug and ran to her room. I snickered. Of course she won’t fall in love with a fictional character. I sat up straight and looked at the wall. What would the coffee girl be doing now? Would she already be asleep? Maybe she was watching a movie too with her roommate or… Boyfriend... I started feeling a bit insecure. Maybe she did have a boyfriend, maybe she wouldn’t even like me. Chances are I won’t even see her ever again… I let out a long sigh but frowned at my own depressed thoughts. Stop that MC! No thoughts like that! You’re just tired! That’s why you feel anxious. I got up from the couch and made my way to my bedroom glancing into Sarah’s room. She was smiling at her phone again. I smiled softly.
Would be nice being loved by someone, even if it’s only a fictional character.
Hoped you like that! Please let me know what you think and give me some criticism cuz I don’t speak English at home! ^^; XXX Yoyo
