After he paid for the meal (despite you insisting that you split the bill instead), he drove you back to your house. Holding your hand as you’re about to part, he worked up the courage to give you a cheek kiss—but oh gosh, he was so nervous! Thankfully he had you, who gave him one small peck in his lips, before running into your house with a laugh, leaving him in shock. Safe to say he left your driveway with a dumb smile on his face!

JOONYOUNG | late night walk kiss

after going out for a hangout with a few friends, Jacob offered to walk you home as your houses were on the same direction. One convenience store stop later and you’ve both taken a detour to walk on the sidewalk. Oh, how he thought you were absolutely gorgeous. Even with your tired eyes, messy hair, and cakey makeup that was screaming to you to be taken off. Sensing his stare, you hit him with the “What? Is there something on my face?” And so he replied with the cliché “you’re beautiful.” Next thing you know, you’re both kissing underneath a lamppost in the starry night.

JAEHYUN | during the movie kiss

Hyunjae had been such a sweetheart. Asking you for time after school, he brought you to the mall. He bought you some tteokbokki and drinks, and then brought you to the cinema to watch some newly released romance movie. The movie was great, by the way! The casts were amazing, the shots were beautiful, the plot was interesting, and the boy beside you was staring at you with heart eyes! Wait—what? You turned to the side to look at Hyunjae, both staring at each other before you naturally leaned in, a kiss being shared as the stars of the movie had their happy ending.

you remember the day your boyfriend and you first met. baby you and Juyeon were in the same daycare. Another kid had taken your toy shovel, making you let out a cry of sadness. Baby Juyeon was a knight in shining armor, scolding the bullies and taking your shovel back. Reaching a conclusion, you went down to where Kevin was making breakfast. “Good mor—” “Kevin, do you like me?” He stopped cooking to look at you, before answering you, “Truthfully, I do—no, actually, I love you.” You wasted no more time, pulling his face to yours for a kiss.

CHANHEE | in the pool kiss

taking a sip from your glass of wine, you put it back on the edge of the pool. giggling as you see Chanhee’s impatient expression, you quickly came to him, hooking your arms around his shoulder as his fall on your bare waist. Only the sounds of the water in the pool resonated as it was now too late for humankind. You both look at each other in the eyes, before moving closer to each other. “May I?” He asks softly, biting his plump bottom lip. You nodded, and soon enough; your lips connected as you shared a soft and sweet kiss.

CHANGMIN | thank you kiss

the sounds of synchronized steps echoed the practice room as the song came to an end. Changmin had offered to help you with a step you were confused with, and so here you are; doing extra practice in the middle of the night. You both grabbed a drink, pants echoing the room. “I think we’re done with practice—you were great just now. We should go home since it’s late.” He said. You nodded, grabbing your bag before you turned off the electricity and left the room together. “Thank you for staying and helping me, Changmin. I’ll see you tomorrow.” You gave him a peck, before leaving. Only when you reached your humble abode did you realize that you didn’t kiss his cheek.

HAKNYEON | shared chocolate kiss

sitting in a bench after going to the convenience store with Haknyeon, you both unwrapped your drinks. Sipping on the matcha milk, Hak nudged you. “Care for some chocolate?” He asked. You said yes undoubtedly. Imagine the shock on your face when; rather than giving you a piece, he put half on his mouth and held your nape, pulling you in for a kiss. You instinctively opened your mouth to bite the chocolate, lips pressing against each other in the process. After pulling away, the damn menace then proceeded to act as if it was nothing and focused back on his food, leaving you in a blushing mess.

SUNWOO | shutting one up kiss

being friends with a cowardly tease can be fun sometimes. They’d act all flirty and bold, making the other a flustered mess. Yet, they become the flustered mess the moment a hint of teasing is retaliated. It was really fun. Especially given the way your best friend, Sunwoo, was blushing. The day started off in annoyance as his teasing was endless. So you replied with a “if you don’t shut up, I’ll kiss you.” Flustered but not wanting to lose his cool, Sunwoo started singing lalalas. So, you kissed him, shutting him up.

YOUNGJAE | the accidental kiss

let’s be for real. this over-thinker would be way too pussy to actually kiss you outside of his own imagination. So it’s either you that have to initiate it or it happened accidentally. In this case, it happened accidentally. Basically, we all know how clumsy he is, right? Well, he tripped and fell on your lips. Scrambling up in a hurry, the both of you started to apologize to each other. Gosh, what a way to meet, right? Who’d guess that one question and three weeks was all it took for a non accidental second kiss.

Just curious and i like hearing your thoughts on this stuff. May i ask what aspect of steddie fanon you're referring to (which don't fit IRL queer culture so accurately)?

Ahaha...okay so. IMPORTANT NOTE: fandom is not that crucial, do whatever you want, run free through daisy fields of whatever headcanons and characterizations you please. Also, fic is not real life and that's okay!!

That being said, fandom can get slightly weird about sex, especially queer sexual cultures and especially historical queer sexual cultures. I mean, I get it! Our current hegemonic understanding of sexuality is actually pretty recent; I studied sexuality from a sociological perspective as part of my undergrad degree, focusing on moral panics (gosh I wonder why Eddie's character arc appeals to me! so mysterious!), and I know just enough to know that I don't know shit. So I certainly don't expect anyone to be doing paradigm-shifting sociohistorical research for a fic. That would be ridiculous.

All of this is leading up to say that based on 1) the relayed experiences of queer mentors who were in the scene in the 80s 2) the secondary sources I’ve researched 3) personally having many gay male friends who love oversharing through the last ~15 years, I believe that if canon-compliant gay Eddie Munson is a virgin, it’s largely by choice. 

I've seen it suggested that Eddie's poor academic performance and nerdy interests would be, essentially, a dick deterrent. And like...I enjoy Eddie’s weirdo loser vibe as much as the next fan. I fully support him not being in any way smooth or cool with boys. But even when I myself was in my late teens/early twenties, many of my closest friends were awkward nerdy twinks who absolutely managed to get laid every weekend because MSM* hookup culture is eternal. 

And in the early 80s, when Eddie would’ve been in his late teens, MSM hookup culture was at its peak. AIDS still wasn’t being taken that seriously, and transmission etc. wasn’t really understood because…well, you know this story. It’s not a good story. Fuck Reagan. 

In short, I really can’t emphasize enough how certain types of sexual contact were extremely available for men seeking sex with men. A pretty young thing like Eddie could have literally as much sex as he wanted. Nobody is asking him for a high school transcript or anything about his hobbies, they’re asking if he tops. 

Now, would Eddie actually participate in the hookup culture of the time? That's a more complicated and speculative question, and not actually what you asked, but I'm going to talk about it briefly anyway.

In the 'yes' column: he has his own vehicle**, zero supervision, and a penchant for risky behavior.

In the 'no' column: the boy has at least three extremely involved hobbies eating up his spare time and energy; he's also a not-so-secret romantic.

Personally, I can see the pseudo-intimacy appealing to Eddie's tendency to keep people at arm's length, and I think it’s very plausible for him to be curious and experimental enough to want to explore a bit. I tend to land on 'tried it a few times, doesn't make a habit of it' in my backstories. I also tend to hint at the softer, friendlier side of hookup culture in my fics, just because I don’t often see it represented. 

Of course it’s like any other scene, there are bad actors and generally shitty people/situations, and sometimes the MSM scene specifically can be a bit of a soul-draining meat market. (ETA, because I am not white and neither are the vast majority of my friends and I felt increasingly weird not mentioning it even though it's not relevant to Eddie's situation: the scene is often also super racist, among other things! But that's a whooole other complicated kettle of fish, and again, not relevant to Eddie's situation.)

But there’s also space for casual sex to be part of a friendly relationship, in a way that I don’t really see in hetero circles. It’s hard to explain. It’s one of those dynamics that basically never shows up in mainstream media at all, so I absolutely don’t blame fics that don’t show it either. It’s just one of those things.

This is a step to the left, but I recommend checking out Dykes To Watch Out For: it’s practically an anthropological document depicting dyke culture in the 80s, it’s often funny as hell, and it’s just a fantastically detailed and relatively accessible window into a particular way of life that doesn’t really exist anymore. 

*MSM = men who have sex with men. It’s a sociological designation; not everyone in this category identifies as gay, bi, queer, etc. It may be useful to think about sexuality as having three distinct components: behavior, identity, and desire. The term “MSM” puts focus on the behavioral aspect, because it’s most relevant in this context. 

**As someone who has experienced several other countries' driving cultures, I just want to emphasize to non-Americans how willing many Americans are to drive for multiple hours for basically any reason whatsoever.

Preaching to the Chorus

About three years ago, Troy Baker pitched the idea of a video game musical called Chorus. What struck me, beyond the fact it was asking for donations as it was a crowdfunded project, were the high profile voice actors taking part, the art style, the bringing on of composer Austin Wintory and that it was being developed by an Australian developer! Years later, there was almost no word or hint of the game and I feared the worst. For a good long while, I wondered if I had just imagined the game being announced. Until, of course, Summerfall Studios announced the upcoming release of Stray Gods in August 2023! Suddenly, we had a release date and songs to enjoy after years of what had felt like absolute silence.

Yes, Chorus had changed its name but it was still the same premise I was promised: an urban fantasy Greek-mythology inspired musical where I got to make decisions on where the songs went. Needless to say, I was excited!

Despite it releasing in August, I didn't get to play the game until much later in 2023 when I finally got a bit of a breather between all my lengthy video games sucking up most of my time (and the fact I work full-time and commit to writing my stories and watching endless TV shows to be up-to-date on whatever is popular). Well, no. That's a lie. I've put a few games on the back burner like Octopath Traveler II and Like a Dragon: Ishin! (they are totally going to be played soon, I promise!)

In any case, I purchased the game while it was on sale (a measly 20% or so) and then stepped into the shoes of Grace. And almost immediately connected with her feelings of being cast adrift. Like so many people who have graduated university, and who didn't immediately apply for graduate programs, she's a little lost and unsure of her direction in life. Enter Calliope.

After the two share a duet together, Grace returns to the apartment she shares with longtime best friend: Freddie. As she rests, there's a knock on the door and lo! Calliope staggers through clutching a ghastly wound. With her last breath, she passes on her eidolon (the soul? and memories of an Idol) before dying in poor traumatised Grace's arms.

As Grace, understandably, panics, at the sudden turn of events, Hermes steps through the front door and tells Grace she needs to meet the Chorus. Within moments, Grace is taken to an upscale office room where she is greeted by Apollo, Persephone, Aphrodite and Athena. Before Grace can get a word in edgewise, these Idols (as the Gods now call themselves - although it makes me wonder if other pantheons exist in this world created by Summerfall), decide to execute Grace for the crime of maybe-possibly killing Calliope. That is until Apollo protests.

And protest he must consider later plot points. Such as him divulging the prophecy leading to Calliope's murder!

Honestly, so much of the story could have been resolved if Apollo stopped being a sad boy and actually used some brains to more cleverly resolve Grace's predicament. Instead, we have Grace run around the city for a week in a bid to prove her innocence and figure out the truth behind Calliope's death.

But what a wonderful week it was as several Idols help out, from the fast-talking Pan to the scary Medusa (with a very cute monster voice from Anjali Bhimani). But who can forget, and forgive me as a I fan myself and swoon over, the dommy mummy: Persephone. The design! The voice! The attitude? Gosh, I just wanted Persephone to step all over me. And considering the height difference she had over Grace?

Just...

I'm just going to die in a corner over here now.

Anyways, diversion aside, the plot was serviceable. It wasn't the most mindblowing story to be told but I liked how it introduced us to many of the Greek Gods and mythological creatures hiding in America, whilst weaving it in the murder mystery plot at its core. While the game threw out new leads often, I didn't ever feel an urgency to solve the crime or fear I'd not be able to figure out the murderer. Sherlock Holmes, this is not.

Rather, no matter which scenes you may wish to complete first (and I always went back to the Underworld to chat up Persephone), I feel like the end-point is almost always the same with our villain being unmasked as the smiling cookie-giver!

From a gameplay perspective, Stray Gods doesn't offer much. It's pretty much a visual novel where the player selects dialogue options or the next part of the song they wish to sing. There's no walking around or exploring the wondrous set pieces you find yourself in. Nor is there any random clicking on background objects for some light commentary or to pocket away clues to be presented at some other time.

In fact, there's no real animation to the game either. Most of the characters are stills, changing their posture as the dialogue or songs demand. Like flipping through a comic book or going from pane to pane.

But what does make Stray Gods stand out are the songs. Yes, there are some where I felt like it faltered: Asterion and Hecate's song (with the volume turned way too low) and some of the weaker blue options in Challenging a Queen. To me, it just wasn't as melodic as they could be and sounded a little jarring. Still, these were glossed over by several other standout songs like The Throne and the Ritual.

Speaking of The Ritual, while I did feel for Aphrodite, I didn't much like her selfish actions of dying and passing her trauma onto another poor soul. Like, either go to therapy and work on your issues or just die permanently and stop inflicting someone else with your trauma! Forgetting is not the path forward. And maintaining the cycle of the next Aphrodite reawakening to your traumatic memories of the Second World War whilst your son, Eros, deals with the fallout is NOT healthy.

On a side note, I liked how the melody of Adrift was used in the background of the game and was also revisited during The Trial.

As for the actual singing, I'm still impressed by the singing of so many of the voice actors. I mean, I wasn't surprised by Troy Baker considering he was a musician before he was a voice actor. And Felicia Day...well, considering I'd stumbled upon her back in her The Guild days, knew she could sing because of the songs she released. And the fact she appeared in Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion.

While I did like Laura Bailey, there were moments when I felt her vocals were just a little too raw and weren't able to hit the notes as well as could be. No shade on Laura, though. I love Laura Bailey! And she had a tough task with so many variations to sing!

Still, I did like her rapping. MORE LAURA BAILEY RAPPING PLEASE! Especially in the Challenging a Queen song.

But I do wonder what Stray Gods might have been like if we had actual Broadway actors brought in for the singing with stronger vocals and/ or melodies.

But I must say, my absolute favourite singer was Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. How could I not? She voiced Persephone! And I so wanted to romance her!

In the end, though, I foiled my chances because I was trying to play in-character by asking myself 'What would Grace do?' in most situations, especially when she was down in the Underworld and was especially traumatised by her best friend's death.

So, yes. I obviously brought Freddie back and the two ended up getting together in one of the more wholesome relationships there is in the game. Because, if you ask me, Pan? He just shows up out of the blue and is all sneaky-sneaky. A girl with her head on her shoulders wouldn't immediately fall for him, even if his intentions were good.

And Apollo? I know my friend @mrsarmageddon likes a 'I-can-fix-him-sad-boy' but he was too set in his ways and a little too unwilling to be of any proper assistance until all his secrets had been unveiled.

As for Persephone, she's a very angry woman and also wouldn't have been a healthy choice considering her romance with CALLIOPE in the past. Still, I couldn't help but want her step on me.

I don't know what that says about me. I'm probably secretly a sub/ omega who just wants someone to take care of me.

But let's not dwell on what this revelation could be and instead talk about how Stray Gods pushed the gaming genre to try and be more inclusive in ways no-one had thought of before. Beyond that, I loved the characters. The narrative, while simplistic, was entertaining enough to pull me through my initial playthrough of six and a bit hours. So, it's not even all that long. Which is perfect when you're gainfully employed and have a ton of time-consuming hobbies.

The one major downside to me was the fact it didn't have a chapter select after the first playthrough. If it did have it, allowing me to skip ahead to say 'Act 3' to redo my conversation with Persephone so I could romance her, or skip to certain songs so I could try out different combinations or variations, it would have heightened the gaming experience for me. Instead, Stray Gods forced me to play through the entire game again just for the occasional tweaks I wanted to do in my playthrough.

And now, during The Game Awards 2023, there's been an announcement for ANOTHER musical game called Harmonium. And it features sign language! So, it's definitely something I want to keep an eye on!

YES! TO MORE VIDEO GAME MUSICALS!

But also, don't let it become too overly saturated. During the Game Awards, I couldn't help but notice more Souls-like battle systems, using Japan as a setting (for Western developers) and more mechs/ robots.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and admire the Queen of the Underworld a little bit more. For perfectly REASONABLE purposes.

Here are my initial quick thoughts that may change after unlocking everything and even just pondering more:

we start off strong with 'shrewd' slamming down the fact that he has sharp wit, intelligent, and can clock people pretty quick 👀 Then with the follow up it makes me think he truly did put together a brilliant plan, that he had been working a long while on, and that would be hard pressed to fall apart. That plan was practically fool proof and likely guarantee that he gets away with it as well 👀 LONELY makes me want to FRIGGIN CRYYYY BROOO. Bro has been lonely for so darn long and he couldn't even find comradery with his coworkers or anyone 😭 Then with Benny being shady as hell, this makes me think that Norton didn't get overly attached in the end and was likely using Benny as much as Benny was using him. He really has the vibe of 'just deal with it, all will change one day' and it makes me so sad orz SOPHISICATED, GOSH, THE BOI!! He really has been wearing a mask for a LONG AF TIME! 'FOR THE SAKE OF SURVIVAL' MAKES ME COLLAPSE INTO A PUDDLE OF SADNESS!! Bro is doing everything he can to survive! Including leaving his true self locked up INSIDE GOSH DAMN WILLFUL, This manz has willpower of steel fr fr. I Told Sunset About You Rewatch Ep 1 Stray Thoughts

We're doing a retrospective for @the-conversation-pod soon, so I want to get a rewatch in (I think this is my sixth) before we record. Figured it might be fun to jot ideas down.

Let me just say that the quality of the opening song still hits like a ton of bricks right as this starts. I had not experienced something like that before.

Telling us from the first scene that it's always been about Oh-aew.

RIP LINE TV. Pour one out.

Thinking about Teh's relationship with his mom this time, she was praising Teh for making it into this school with high marks.

Oh we finally know what MoRaoYuLok means! (We look so funny)

Skyline is just such an affecting song.

I often forget that the first float we saw was with the young actors.

Really like the camera zooming in on Teh after Oh agrees to play Yongjian. We've seen them in frame together for about four minutes of the friendship montage, and now Teh suddenly feels alone.

The tragedy of their breakup hits every time. You can see it coming immediately as soon as Oh is selected and Teh tries his best to support him through the play.

I often think about how Teh wasn't even selected to play a tree in the play.

Oh, Teh, he was always in the wrong when it came to Oh. Oh hoped they could share a passion together and Teh only saw someone stepping on his dream.

Hello again, Tuty the Homophobic Dog.

Oh, Teh, why do you have to get salty about your mom praising your brother for being able to help you afford school?

Tarn, you will regret telling Teh to go after someone else because you don't want him to waste his time waiting for you.

I love the bass beats at the mention of Oh-aew.

Sometimes you briefly forget how beautiful PP Krit is, and then you see him again and you're like, "Right, I didn't imagine that."

Gosh, Teh was always petty.

Very sad foreshadowing about Teh later waking up early to study with Oh.

This whole scene of The deciding to mess with his hair is almost Japanese in styling. It's rare in Thai shows where they hold a shot and let the actors enter and exit the frame, trusting the audience to remember where things are.

Lol, Teh is so embarrassing sometimes. Even the teacher had to call him out about the hair.

I'm still fond of Khunpol's acting as Bas after all this time. He was new to Nadao at the time and was very nervous to work so closely with PP.

He's always good at saying things to hurt Oh, but then instantly regrets it.

Oh, Bas. If it could have been you it would have been you so easily.

I sometimes wish we'd dug more into Oh's family relationship, because it feels like Teh often said things that reminded Oh of his dad.

Truly this is a beautiful shot of all of MoRaoYuLok together. Teh positioned between Bas and Oh is exquisite.

The score for this show really is just so fantastic. Underlines every moment beautifully.

Billkin is really beautiful when he has to show sympathy for PP's character crying.

PP's legs? Undefeated. Closest challenger was Todd Techit.

Goddamn these two make each other ugly cry so easily. Even on this gorgeous beach!

Poor Bas. He noticed so early.

Oh always cuts to the emotional core of their problems.

Ending on what Teh might say to Oh from the interview and having him not exactly say those things to Oh? Crushing.

Billkin singing Skyline just blasts you at the end. My goodness.

Something that still surprises me each time I come back to this is how much these boys cry at each other about each other. Normally you'd expect some kind of machismo or gender dynamic where one of them is maybe stoic, but no, these two know each other too well for that. Their relationship just feels so huge. Really the only other two characters that have close to this feeling are Pat and Pran, and Our Song explicitly asks if it's okay if they're not as huge as something like this.

First impressions after watching season 3

So after being super patient all day yesterday, I finally managed to get back home and binge watch season 3 last night \o/ I'm just gonna put a few of my first thoughts here for now, I'm gonna need to rewatch everything to have more detailed and coherent thoughts 😁 But first of all, I wanna thanks Amber 💜 (@amailboxlemur) for being the best spectator and companion to my live reactions 😂 It was super duper nice to be able to share these with you while I was watching and going through all the emotions 😱 So I liked the season!! Here is my reaction at the end of episode 5, and I think it sums up pretty well my feeling at that moment :p

So a few randoms comments (I will write more about each episode after rewatching them, which I intend to start doing tonight because I neeeeeed to watch it all again):

⁂ Simon was incredibly sad this season and it broke my heart. Seeing him cry just made me cry. He was so lost and broken, I really can't wait for the last episode to see him get better (yes I'm an eternally optimist person so I believe he will be happier!!)

⁂ I wasn't expecting the Micke/Sara storyline but I think I liked it! It gave us a new perspective into the Eriksson family dynamic and I felt so so bad for Sara at the end

⁂ I loved to see Simon being truly angry at his sister!! Baby boy is so used to being nice and forgiving, so it was really refreshing to see him actually be mad and stand his ground about it!!

⁂ Wilhelm Wilhelm Wilhelm. My poor boy is a mess! He was so hopeful at the beginning, thinking he could finally have it all, but yeah it was obviously not gonna be smooth sailing. He's such a messy, broken, angry teenager this season and my heart cries for him. He ends up hurting Simon quite a lot but I cannot be truly mad at him. He's a broken boy trying his best :(

⁂ Which leads me to his family: arghhhhhh. So I was hoping that we would get some more info to understand Kristina at least a little bit, but she's just truly awful this season. And the Duke is not better. I hate them for how they behave with Wilhelm. And on a more personal note: I always saw my own mother in Kristina, but this season it's even more flagrant, and gosh does it make me mad for Wilhelm. His lashing out at them at the end of episode 5 was as painful as it was good to see. I've been in his situation. I've yelled like him too many times to count. So I hurt for him. He deserves so much better. Nobody should have these kind of people as parents :(

⁂ The Erik stuff made me so sad!!

⁂ The whole school situation was a bit frustrating at time but it was interesting to see the characters reacting to it all. Felice is a queen and deserves so much better than her "friends". And Vincent can rot in hell 😠

⁂ They're all incredible actors!! And the show is beautiful as usual. I am slightly disappointed with the music (no song captured me as well as the ones in season 1 and 2, but maybe I just need to watch the episodes a few times for that to happen ^^)

⁂ All the cute scenes between Wilhelm and Simon were just the best. Seeing them be silly boyfriends was the best. And yeah, the chemistry is still chemistrying hard between Edvin and Omar :p

I'm gonna stop my list of first reactions there, but I'll continue in more details episode by episode! Overall I think I like this season, though the ending killed me and the week to come is gonna be the longest week ever ^^' I am not really worried about the last episode. I trust the show. I do believe Wilmon will be endgame. And I think not everything will be wrapped up neatly but I do think the ending will be satisfying. So can't wait \o/

"At least it wasn't our table this time!", jimin laughed and leaned back in his chair. "Still! Let's not leave it like this okay?", hoseok said while standing up and cleaning it with a few tissues, "I'll feel bad for the people that work here!". What a kind soul, you wiped a tear on the inside.

Looking at joonie, he smiled and patted your tigh again, "I'll be right back babe~", with that he threw his fork under the table. "O-Oh no.. haha.. look at me beeing this clumsy today..", with a small laugh and a sigh he climbed under the table. A feeling told you that was a really bad idea. You wondered why. "You know hyung, you could just use a new fork right? There are some more here", jimin laughed, looking from namjoons chair to you. You just shrugged. "Noo that would be irresponsible! Let's think on the people who do the dishes okay?", joonie answered, beeing the sweet heart he always was. You all talked and talked, and laughed but no sign of namjoon since he went under the table. Slowly you got nervous. Where was your boyfriend?? Did he go to buy a new toy or what??

Suddenly you phone beeped. Checking it you saw one new messeage from namjoon. Your looked confused. What does that mean? Opening the message you gasped, almost dropping your phone at the sight.

Feeling your face geting red at the embarrassement you quickly typed in your answer. But right in this moment joonie was already back up with his fork in hand. Wondering what now you waited for his answer. He sat down, cleaning his fork and lookinh at you. This look! He was planning something! Ohoh..

Raising one eyebrow you looked confused at him. "Count the toys in the picture", namjoon said with a knowing smirk on his face. Looking back at the picture on your phone you did what you were told. Huh?! Funny! There were really 7 toys like yours in the picture. Wait?!

Your eyes widened. Did that mean everyone here- Your brain was about to crash. OMG! No way! Looking at joonie you wanted to know if you understood right. The smirk of his said it all. Yet he acted normal and just continued to eat, with a fresh fork. What a dork..

Later everyone was leaving, one after another. Until just jimin, namjoon and you were left. Just packing your things, still talking a bit and drinking the glas empty.

"Hyung, could it be that you both lost something? I saw it earlier..~", jimin asked with a teasing, curious look on his face. You were about to deny it. Yet namjoon smiled and nodded, "Yes we did. But I believe you did too right jimini?~", a teasing smirk at the younger member was added. But jimin just chuckled and nodded, "Indeed! So should we go and get it back? After all.. my love is waiting for me ~", he asked looking at joonie and then at the door. You just stood there, mouth agape as they both went under the table to pick up their items.

Hey I really like your page! Especially your analysis on Rhaenys-Rhaenyra.

Initially I sort of shipped Rhaenys x Corlys (until I read she was 16 and he was 37) (I don’t care about the fact that it was medieval or whatever it’s still weird)

they seemed happy though so good for them!

I feel as though GRRM making Corlys cheat on her with a teenager, just sort of ruined his character for me. The fact that he only named Addam and Alyn ‘Velaryons’ after Rhaenys died. Disrespectful! It really rubs me the wrong way.

Like hello Baela is right there! What are your thoughts on what Corlys does with regards to his alleged affair, and passing off driftmark to Addam-Alyn over Baela?

Hello! Thank you, first of all, for taking such an interest. And thank you for messaging me, that's lovely and kind of you. Yes, the age thing is so frigging weird but I take stock in the fact that even with the age gap, in the books, GRRM did basically everything to say that it was as consensual as it could be, that Rhaenys was the one who asked for the marriage, that it was a happy occasion and a usually happy marriage. And, above anything else, GRRM stresses very much the fact that these two were equals within the partnership. At the end of it, I think that Corlys loved her and she loved Corlys.

Although, thank goodness the show changes their age. They are both said to be in the same age brackets in the script (i.e 40s at the Great Council). And the actors themselves have only about 6 years between them which is fine. Nor do we have any information about when the two married in the show!universe. So no alarm bells on that side of things.

It's strange, when you come to the Addam/Alyn debate. And I generally flip-flip, especially when we talk about the book. I don't think it's so cut and dry that they aren't Laenor's. I know that sounds like I'm making excuses so as not to ruin my ship, but it's far more plausible that they are Laenor's in the book.

There is the age difference of it all, there is the steadfastness to which they all claim it, there is the fact that the rumours come from Mushroom who likes to stir things and that the other scholars cannot and will not agree as to the boys' origins. Laenor had opportunity and motive, despite his sexuality. The boys would be around Jace's age, therefore the time in which he was going to convince himself that he needed heirs and needed to bed a woman and if he felt cuckolded, however rightly/wrongly, then that could have motivated multiple sexual encounters with Marilda. There is also the fact that one can dragon-ride. Either they get that from Laenor, or the Velaryon dragon-riding (if it exists) kicks in at an especially opportune moment, or their mother has some dragonseed in her. We have no explanation. If GRRM can be so overt in saying that Jace, Luke and Joff are not Laenor's, then why could he not be over saying the Hull boys were not? So I think it's ambiguous.

In the show? Gosh darn it, I know they are going to be Corlys's kids. Luckily, the show has already established that this Corlys can totally love Rhaenys and be adoring to his wife... but be a total idiot and hurt her in the process. I'll be interested to see how they present it all, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rhaenys knows all about it. After all, Alyn is a part of the Fleet in the show, rather than hidden away in Hull.

Moving on to the succession, what interests me is that it's not Corlys who pushes for their legitimisation. He only brings them forward as dragonseeds. It's Jace who asks for it, and then Rhaenyra grants it. It's done to reward for Addam bonding with a dragon and Alyn risking his life for it. It's not billed or suggested that it's a sneaky political move that Corlys has always planned. It's not even suggested that he's done it in any way to disrespect Rhaenys. I think the fact that he refuses to acknowledge them as his sons, if indeed they are, is a show of respect to Rhaenys in a weird way. He refuses to bring shame upon her, despite her being dead and the repercussions of claiming Alyn and Addam being pretty minimal, that I can see.

Also, at that point, it's not a case of picking between the Hull boys and Baela. The next Heir to Driftmark would have been Joffrey. So I sort of view it a bit more innocently than I know some do.

I don't think there is ever a point where it would be realistic or advantageous to switch the inheritance over to Baela. I don't think that is even a thought that enters Corlys's head. His heir is his son/grandson. It's the one that leads the Fleet. Baela is imprisoned for quite a while when Alyn takes over after the death of Addam. He is a military leader and acts on behalf of Corlys when Corlys is imprisoned as well. It would be churlish to reward such service with a disinheritance and Alyn does present himself as a suitable heir. There's little to no reason for Corlys to undo this.

There's also Baela's strategic position. She has a claim to the Throne. She is also of an age to marry. If she were heir to the Throne or to Driftmark or any of that, then people would seek to use her. They would try and marry her and then they would command the Fleet and/or more.

All in all, I don't think the issue is cut and dry. I don't believe it's an act of harm against Baela. It may not even be a conscious thought. Baela in book and show has not been raised to expect that inheritance. She does not expect, or shown any wish, to be Lady of the Tides in her own right. Corlys does not spurn Baela, even if there is a world in which the Driftwood Throne would have been hers.

Staying alive on coffee after that nightmare, on top of that she was sleepy as she couldn't get proper sleep, she entered the museum right before Larry left and the people started crowding the place. Larry flashed a tired smile and she asked, "Gosh, Larry, what's with the tired face? Didn't you get a good sleep?" "The exhibits keep me busy, besides they went a bit far yesterday night. Well, good morning and bye!" he said quickly, realizing he slipped up and scurried away. You mumbled to yourself, "Weird…" as you wondered who were 'they' and what did he mean as you started on your daily routine. After going back home you went straight to bed to get a good nap.

5:55 PM

You were late! you were rushing the down street and the sun was already down. You entered the museum only to see the exhibits were moving! Only the dinosaur was animatronic, why in the morning they don't seem to move in? Larry noticed her and said, "McPhee forgot to inform a few people but the museum will be open on Saturday nights" "Okay..? well then maybe I should-" "No, wait! Stay, look around, and interact with the other exhibits, it'll be fun!" Larry said "Fine, I guess…" You would go to the Egyptian exhibit, listening to Ahkmenrah explaining the exhibit coming to life, and then sassing out the little girl who asked what the tablet does. She internally scoffed thinking as if it would happen. She would knock up a few conversations with the exhibits and the fact they knew so much about the people they are playing, which kind of weirded you out. She would catch herself staring at the Theodore Roosevelt actor, riding the horse. She would walk around and then notice Larry with a girl going towards the miniature exhibit. You would smile at them and then hear a gentle male voice behind you, "Would you like to perhaps join me on a ride? Feeling a bit lonely around the American exhibits" You would turn around and immediately blush. It was HIM. He would look shocked as if he had seen a ghost from the past. "Y/P/N (Your last name, yes I made that up)? I-Is that you?" You would look at him with a tint of blush still on your face, surprised. Isn't that the same name he called you in your dream? Meanwhile, Norman's back to being homophobic. Peter's afraid that Norman's gonna send him to a conversion therapy remembering he's the Green Goblin -and all that entails- so he decides to go on a trip to catch photos with the Hulk in Canada... and maybe get some answers.

YES. I REMEMBER HER. And now I remember what's gonna happen!

She's called "Ms. Delon", presumably to reference Alain Delon, who's a big French actor and was really hot for a long (very long) while. Go watch La Piscine (The Swimming Pool) and Plein soleil (Purple Noon, the first movie adaptation of Mr. Ripley) to see him in his full glory!

As I remembered, Rimbaud ends up shot, after a very enticing short appearance (he seems sweet yet strong. he's. okay maybe. maybe he's dad--).

Lindy Marie Cauley complains that MJ has no characterization and that we don't know anything about her. The answer?

So time for issue 121! Dear Lord, MJ has a very long neck...

Gerry Conway indicates on the first page that the actual title of the issue isn't something we'll forget any time soon--and I doubt he could know how right he was.

The drugged Harry storyline being back also means Peter's a jerk and keeps going on about how Harry's weak, which I just can't quite accept.

The sexual tension between Norman and Peter ramps up, which I'm all for.

Leaving Norman's house with his girlfriends, Peter mentions he'll buy them coke, which is great because I researched that for my visual novel (but all the files disappeared so who cares). It's nice to have a confirmation it was popular at the time. MJ eschews her usual happy behavior in this issue (just you wait girl) and that's nice to see. Development!

Finally, finally, Norman remembers his alter ego and quickly gets his equipment. It happens very fast, as everything does (once again, a lot fo complaints about TASM2 really don't hold up), but it's efficient and effective.

When was the last time we saw the Green Goblin?

His last appearance was from issues 96 to 98, which was also linked to Harry's first batch of drugs issues. HMM! So for the readers, it had been about two years almost to the month since they'd last seen the Green Goblin. That's fair. And what a final appearance... (for now)

UGH IT STILL HURTS TO SEE!

From then on, the issue is a total treat. It's outlandishly good. What a great issue. Damn.

So before we go on to Issue 122, what's my opinion on Gwen?

I think she started out fairly unlikable, which isn't necessarily bad since everybody was jerks in the early days, but she provided some nice drama (especially with Flash). I do think her role felt boring at some points, but I don't know, she was a nice presence to have, and I appreciate her strange relationship with MJ, at least what little I saw of her. I wish she was given more of a chance, though.

Oh well, we'll see her again in a bit anyway, aren't we? :-)

This is the Peter I'm used to.

Gosh, this hits *hard*. Not so much for Peter, but really for Harry. "Don't walk away, please! Everybody's left me and I'm all alone! Please, Peter, please! Help me!"

This is horrible. This is dark. This is incredibly compelling, and human. This is masterful.

It may be the best issue until then. It's simply that good.

There's one last issue in this batch, but it feels almost futile to keep reading after such a masterpiece.

And issue 123 actually almost makes me cry, because it makes me remember that Gwen felt guilty for partly motivating (in one of the few spots where her personality shined) May to leave.

And this plotline isn't forgotten! Fuck, it hurts.

You stand on your tip toes and look over the crowd of people waiting on line to get in.

You finally see your cousin, Kiara, and your other cousins, Brendan and Leah.

You make your way through the crowd and finally catch up to them.

"Goodness" you say as you fix your hair.

"The line is insane! This place must be amazing! " Leah says gazing at the building.

"How are you doing? How was the bar?" Kiara asks.

You smile, "I met someone...a boy..."

Brendan gasps. "Oh my gosh, you did? Was he cute? Would he like me?!"

You laugh, "Actually, he's a celebrity. His name is Austin Butler. He's in the new Elvis movie"

Brendan, Leah and Kiara all stare at you. Their jaws drop.

"You. Met. Austin. BUTLER?" Leah exclaims.

"He is so hot, [Y/N]" Kiara says.

"Oh my god, tell us everything" Brendan squeals.

You shrug, "I don't know. We met at the hotel bar, we chatted for about an hour and that was it"

Brendan grabs your arm.

"Do you think he's into you?" he asks.

"I don't know!" you shriek. "He kind of checked me out as I was leaving and he did say "I never met anyone like you" before I was leaving. Oh, and he did wink at me" you rattle off as you retell the tale.

Leah jumps up and down.

"Ugh, he is so gorgeous. You're so lucky!" Leah exclaims.

"Finally! They're letting us in" Brendan says.

When you enter the club, you notice that it is massive and there are tons more people inside than there are outside. There are crowds of people dancing close to one another, some making out, others laughing and chatting over the loud music.

"Drinks on me!" Brendan says. "I just got a huge promotion at work and I want to treat my favorite people to a good time"

You smile. He orders you all apple martinis.

"To Brendan getting a promotion and for [Y/N] meeting Austin Butler" Kiara says as she holds her glass in the air.

You shake your head and laugh.

"Cheers" you say, as everyone joins glasses.

You wake up the next morning at 7AM with a pounding headache. Wow, you definitely shouldn't have had 4 apple martinis and however many shots Leah was throwing down your throat.

You rub your eyes and grip your head. OUCH.

"Fuck" you groan.

You turn slowly trying not to make the headache worse. You open the bedside table and fish out a bottle of Advil. Thank god you remembered to pack it.

You take a swig of water from a bottle on your nightstand and swallow. The only thing that was going to help get rid of this hangover was coffee...and lots of it.

You manage to apply a little bit of makeup and get dressed for the day.

You grab your purse, stuff some cash into your pocket and walk down to the lobby and out into the crisp New York City air. About two blocks away, you find a Starbucks. Hallelujah!

You walk in and order the largest coffee you could get and hand the barista some cash. You take a seat at one of the tables and take out your book.

You take a sip of your coffee and continue to read. The vanilla flavored coffee makes your tongue tingle. You were starting to feel a bit better.

"Wow, she even reads at the coffee shop"

You look up and Austin is standing in front of you with a tray full of four hot coffees.

A smile instantly spread across your face. He's wearing a white t-shirt, a leather jacket, black jeans and boots. He looks so handsome.

You blush and close your book.

"She does. She reads anywhere she can actually" you reply.

Austin bites his lip and gestures to the chair.

"Mind if I sit for a minute?" he asks.

"Please" you say moving your book to the side so he has room.

He takes a seat and puts the tray of coffee in front of him.

"You must really like coffee" you say, eyeing the tray.

He giggles and brushes his hand against a cup.

"I do very much, but this coffee is for my team. I have some interviews to do today. I may be an actor but I'm still the coffee boy when it comes to it" he explains.

You laugh, "Well coffee boy, what kind of interviews do you have to do?

He shrugs, " I have to be at the TODAY Show in...." He looks down at his watch. "45 minutes"

You place your chin in your hand.

"You should probably get to it then, huh?" you ask.

He crosses his arms. "Wow! Wanting me to leave already?" he asks sarcastically.

You shake your head and giggle. "No, I just want you to be on time!"

He smiles and runs his fingers through his hair.

"So, I was wondering...maybe after my interviews we could do something. I have a really cool place I'd like to show you"

You can feel yourself blushing again. You look into his blue eyes.

"Hmm, that sounds like it could be fun. What's the place?"

Austin points his finger at you. "Now, that is a surprise"

He gets up and grabs his tray.

"How about you meet me in the lobby, say, around 2PM?"

You hold you book closer and nod.

"Sure thing"

He smiles, his white teeth sparkling.

"Great, I can't wait. See you later, [Y/N]" he says and turns to walk out the door.

It's about 1:30PM and you are in your hotel room on the phone with Kiara.

"Oh my god, do you think it's a date?" Kiara asks.

You shrug and finish applying your blush.

"Maybe? I don't know but it's crazy. He is so nice to me, maybe he just wants to be friends"

You can hear Kiara sigh on the phone.

"I think you should just stop thinking and let whatever happens, happen" she says.

You nod, "Yeah, maybe I should. Well, let me go. I'm meeting him downstairs soon"

"You have to call me as soon as you get back. Let me know everything please!" she squeals and hangs up the phone.

You put your phone down and finish putting on the rest of your makeup and look in the mirror. You felt pretty and confident.

You grab your things and take the elevator down to the lobby. As soon as you open the door, you see Austin waiting on a large brown sofa. He was on his phone texting someone.

"Hello, coffee boy" you say, as you approach him.

He looks up and smiles, stuffing the phone in his coat pocket.

"Hi book worm, you ready to go?" He stands up and stuff his hands in his pocket.

You laugh at the silly nickname he gives you.

"As long as you're not going to kill me, then yes, I'm ready"

Austin shakes his head and laughs.

"You're funny, [Y/N]" he says.

You walk out of the hotel and start down the street.

"So how was your interview?" you ask.

"It was good, I know a lot of people hate doing interviews but I love it. I enjoy getting to talk to new people, meet new faces. I think everyone deserves to have their questions answered thoroughly and thoughtfully, you know?"

You love how sincere he is, how other people's lives mattered deeply to him. He clearly wasn't some stuck up guy like some other celebrities can be.

You both walk four more blocks and continue to talk.

"Okay, here we are" he says, holding his arms out.

You look up and read the old sign on the building.

Baumann's Fine Books - A Vintage Book Store

Your eyes shift to him and he rocks back on his feet.

"This is my favorite book store in all of New York City. It's kind of a hidden gem. I have found a lot of amazing books here. I thought you'd like it"

You can see how nervous he is trying to explain himself. You can't help but smile.

"Austin, this is so sweet" you reply and take a step forward. You wrap your arms around his body and bring him in for a hug.

You feel it linger as his arms wrap around you and give you a squeeze.

"Well, let's go inside! There's a ton we have to look at" he says.

He swings open the door and allows you to walk in first. Another point for him being a gentleman.

Your mouth drops as your scan the small store. There were books everywhere. They were stacked in piles, some on display, some in rows. It looked like the walls were made out of books!

"This is....wow" you say as you gaze at the walls.

Austin nods. "I know, I was a little overwhelmed when I first came in here but you get used to it"

You peruse the aisle and come across a section were older books lay.

"Oh my god" you say, pulling out a thick, red, book.

The title read, Gone with the Wind.

"That's a classic" Austin says, leaning over your shoulder to read the title.

You look up at him, his face is inches away from yours.

"This is my favorite book of all time" You run your fingers along the cover. The book looks about 90 years old but it was in great shape.

You hold it close to your chest and smile.

"I'm buying this" you say aloud. Austin smiles, "Good" and walks down the aisle to look at more books.

About 15 minutes later, Austin walks over to you with a book in hand.

"You ready? I just found an entire book with all of Shakespeare's tragedies" he says as he looks down at the book and flips through the pages.

"Wow! I love Shakespeare. You'll have to let me borrow that sometime" you say.

He looks up at you and winks.

"Of course"

You walk up to the cashier and place the book on the counter.

"Cash or credit?" the cashier asks.

"Credit" you say and fish your wallet out of your purse.

You unzip and immediately gasp.

"Oh no" you say, frantically looking in each slot.

"What's wrong?" Austin asks.

"My card" you cry. "It's not here"

You have no idea where it could be. You are always responsible and never misplace anything. This wasn't like you!

"It's okay, where do you think the last place you had it was?" Austin asks. He places a hand on your shoulder and you feel your body become warm.

"I....uh...I don't remember" you say, trying to recall where it could be.

You look down and sigh when it finally comes to you. "Shit. I left it at the hotel bar last night. I never closed my card"

Austin takes out his wallet and places his card on the counter.

"Good, now we know where it is"

You look at him and furrow your eyebrows.

"What are you doing?"

He places his book on the counter and smiles at you.

"I'm buying you this book" he says as if it was obvious.

"No, I can't let you do that, Austin" you say. "It's $135!"

Austin shrugs, "Stop it, I want to. It's something you really want and you deserve it"

You let your shoulders relax and you bite your lip. This man was everything you have dreamed of.

"That's very sweet of you, thank you. I owe you" you say.

Austin shakes his head and pays for the books. You walk out of the store and down the street toward the hotel.

Suddenly, Austin's phone rings. He fishes it out of his pocket and looks at the screen.

You look over and see the name "Kaia" on his phone once more.

He presses the side button again.

This girl Kaia had to be his girlfriend. There was no way it could be anyone else...you wonder why he has yet to mention her.

"So, when we get back to the hotel, would you like to grab a drink? I mean, your card is already open" Austin jokes.

You giggle and nod. "I'd love to"

You both arrive at the hotel and walk over to the bar.

The same bartender from last night was there cleaning a glass with a rag.

"Hello sir, my friend, [Y/N] here, seems to have left her card from last night" Austin says.

The word "friend" made your stomach twist. You didn't want to be his friend. You definitely wanted more than that.

The man nods.

"Yes, miss, you did. I have it right over here" he says.

"Please close it for her and take mine" Austin says and hands the man his debit card.

"Hey! Stop, paying for everything!" you exclaim.

Austin laughs and takes a seat on the stool.

"Don't worry about it, I want to treat you"

You shake your head. "Fine, then I'll be ordering the most expensive drink on the menu" You cross your arms and pretend to be mad.

Austin scoffs, "Have I mentioned you're really funny?"

You shrug, "You might have"

The bartender hands you your card and takes your drink order. Another chardonnay and a whiskey sour.

Austin's phone rings again. He sighs loudly and takes it out of his pocket and checks the screen.

Kaia.

You clear your throat. "So....may I ask you a question?"

Austin nods and hits the side button again.

"Sure, anything"

You look at him and try to decide how to ask the question but for some reason, it made you nervous so you couldn't get it out properly.

"So...like...what's up?" you ask.

Austin laughs and makes a face.

"Nothing much, what's up with you?"

You shake your head and get serious.

"I mean...what's up with your....life....like...are you....like single, married, divorced?" you spew out. You feel your cheeks become red with embarrassment.

Austin looks down at his phone and breathes in.

"Wow, you sound like a legal document" he laughs.

You smirk and throw your hands up. "I don't know, I was just wondering"

Austin sighs, "Um...well, to answer your question, yes. I do have a girlfriend"

You glance up at him and could feel the disappointment wash over.

Just then, the bartender comes over with a bottle of chardonnay.

"More wine, miss?" he asks as he holds up the wine for you to see.

You push the glass towards him.

"Please" you utter.

You had gone missing after *another* villain attack at UA

Everyone went out looking for you, only to find a baby with your clothes on it.

They brought baby you back to campus to get re-aged in private, but your boyfriend was panicking and soon caught wind of the returning search party.

“Oh my gosh, who’s baby is that?”

“...it’s Y/N, dude.”

*cue Izuku passing out*

He didn’t actually pass out, but he came pretty damn close to it.

After calming down a bit, he immediately started researching things about this unusual quirk (while also playing with you).

He learned the hard way that babies are very hard to take care of

He was frantically looking through every book in the library with you in his arms when you suddenly grabbed hold of his hair and yanked.

“Ow! Please don’t do that.”

You, in true gremlin fashion, pull more of his hair.

Even though his scalp hurt, his arms were sore, and he had drool on his shoulder, he didn’t trust anyone else with you

So you stayed in his arms, murmuring lightly as he pulled book after book out of the library shelves.

Eventually, he found what he was looking for and celebrated, swinging you around in the air.

Baby brain: swing=happy :D

(You threw up on him)

Still, he ran to the teachers with his solution and puke covering the front of his shirt, you clinging to him the entire way.

Once you were back to normal, he told you all about what baby you had done. Burying your head in your arms out of embarrassment, you made him promise not to tell anyone else.

Bakugou-

When you hadn’t showed up for school in the morning, he became worried and decided to skip class for an at-home visit

He was absolutely not expecting you to be waddling around your house as a toddler.

Even though he absolutely hates kids, he couldn’t just leave you there

So he begrudgingly called the hospital to fix you while holding you as far away from him as possible.

Good news: the hospital did have a cure to age-reversal (it seemed to happen quite often…). Bad news: the cure was waiting for it to wear off.

He was not happy about this

You were running all over the place, biting things and making messes

For the most part, he just kind of let you do your thing (such a responsible parent, I know).

That changed when you decided to use his arm as a chew toy

“WHAT THE FUCK. LET GO OF ME YOU DUMB BASTARD BABY!”

He shook you off, yelling obscenities and glaring at you.

You, being a child with no emotional control, started crying

It all went downhill from there.

He was extremely scared that he had hurt you, so he tried his hardest to comfort you

(he patted you on the head and distracted you with hand sparks)

Surprisingly, this worked. Despite never being good with kids, his hands were popular in the entertainment department.

He smiled softly as you stared at his sparking palms. “Do you like my quirk? Yeah, I bet you do.”

It was an rarely sweet moment

After that ordeal, you fell asleep and he stayed right by your side until you woke up.

While sleeping, the effects of the de-aging quirk wore off and you were fine again.

Trust me when I say he was extremely glad to have you back, even though he refused to show it.

“You normal now? Good, you were so annoying as a kid. I wanted to blast your stupid baby face off.”

Very sweet, Katsuki.

After you were well enough to speak, he made you explain what happened.

Turns out you had been hit by a fleeing villain during a freak hit-and-run

Your toddler self had managed to stumble 1/3 of a mile back home, where he found you

After hearing your story, he rolled his eyes and scoffed, scolding you for being such a dumbass.

Todoroki-

Hoo boy. He’s definitely one of the worst with kids.

It’s not like he doesn’t try, but… children hate him, and he has no clue how to communicate with them

Thus landing him in an awkward situation when he was tasked with dealing with you, as a part of his hero training.

You had volunteered as a test subject of sorts, allowing the UA staff to age you down (with the help of a citizen with a de-aging quirk) so they could quiz the heroes-in-training on their kiddie protecting knowledge without the risk of harming actual children.

You, now seven years old, were going to be your boyfriend’s biggest challenge.

The situation was simple enough: you were “stuck” under a collapsed building, and he had to rescue and console you.

Climbing swiftly through the wreckage, Todoroki followed the sound of your cries until he found you.

Your leg was trapped under a large piece of debris, which he removed with a burst of ice.

He grabbed you and held you close to his chest, attempting to soothe your hiccups and frantic whimpers (7-year-old you is an incredibly good actor-)

After he had calmed you down a bit, he crouched down to inspect your wound

That’s when you smacked him.

“Don touch me!”

“I need to. You’re hurt.”

“Nuh-uh, I don’t want you to touch me.”

“Why not?”

“You’re gross :( I don’t let gross boys touch me.”

(The other students of 1-A, watching this unfold through security cameras, were cackling)

“...I’m not gross.”

“Prove it.” You crossed your arms, limping a bit as you kept up your injured facade

Todoroki let a shard of ice bloom in his hands and watched as your eyes lit up.

He allowed you to hold the little blob, effectively distracting you from the bandages he wrapped around your leg

When he was done patching you up, he grabbed you and carried you off (ignoring your cries of how mean he was for tricking you)

He brought you to the endpoint of the trial and set you down, clearing his exam.

Kid you was still incredibly angry at him, but you were pulled away to be re-aged before you could let him know just how much he pissed you off

After you had been re-aged, you were still a bit peeved (your memories were blurry, but you could remember being mad).

As you explained your predicament to your boyfriend, he ran his hand through his sweaty hair and smiled.

“I’d much rather deal with regular you being angry. You were a nightmare as a child.”

“What the hell is that supposed to mean, Shoto? Are you saying I was a bad kid?”

“Uh. No? Maybe? I mean, in that situation, yes.”

You flicked him on the forehead. “I think I was a very polite child, thank you very much.”

“Whatever you say, sweetheart.”

Tadashi Hamada - Drunk Karaoke

A/N: I wrote this yearssssss ago after first falling for Tadashi Hamada and being inspired by this clip of his voice actor Daniel Henney singing on YouTube for a different role. I hope you can listen to the audio and enjoy imagining Tadashi serenading you in this story <3 “No.” Tadashi breathed, staring at his phone. 

“What?” You asked, approaching him. 

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no! This can’t be happening!!!” 

“What is it?” You repeated yourself. 

“I only got 65% on the last assignment! I don’t understand, I worked so hard!!!” He huffed. 

You searched yourself for some way to encourage him. “There’s other assignments right? I’m sure you’ll do better on them. Maybe just check with the professor on what you were getting wrong and see if you can make up for it?” 

“No, not in this class, she’s very strict. Absolutely no makeups, she’s warned us. I could still check why though so at least I’ll know… ” 

“Why don’t you come out with us tonight?” Fred offered, suddenly appearing in the back of the emptying nerd lab. “Yeah, you won’t be able to hear back from that teacher tonight anyways and you got nothing else to do. Have a little fun for a night. Wasabi is DDing” 

You looked to Tadashi, curious his response. Your boyfriend wasn’t much of a bar goer but he did go with his friends on occasion, usually as the designated driver though. 

He sighed. “Yeah, okay, might cheer me up after all this.” 

You crowded around the bar, each taking turns ordering. Except Fred. He took 3 shots and ran off to dance. Wasabi got a diet coke since he's the designated driver and Honey ordered a martini. Everyone looked surprised when Tadashi got ready to order too. 

He shrugged at their expressions. "It's been a long terrible day that I really just want to forget."

"Well if you're in the mood for forgetting..." Gogo paused and ordered some complicated drink then slid it to him. "It's my own little concoction. Strongest stuff I've ever had."

Tadashi eyed it hesitantly.

"I...don't know Gogo," Honey said looking at Tadashi. "You don't have to drink anything if you don't want to." She reminded him.

He shrugged. "Why not. What have I got to lose." He said and began drinking Gogo’s concoction.

"Hey! Look! It's karaoke night!" Wasabi said turning his attention to the stage opposite the bar.

Honey gasped. "Tadashi! You should sing!!"

You looked at him shocked and impressed. "You sing?!!"

He shook his head. "Only in the shower or when I don’t notice I’m doing it. I'm not nearly drunk enough for karaoke."

"Well then! That can be arranged!" You laughed and ordered him a shot.

He chuckled. "I would have never thought you the type to get someone drunk and take advantage of them." He teased.

"What can I say," you shrugged, "I love singers”

"Oh, do you?" He asked watching, interested.

You smiled at him coyly and he quickly took the shot. Not long later, he's making dumb jokes and like a hyper little kid. 

He giggled as he stared at you. 

"What?" You smirk.

"There's two’a you." He giggled more. "This is so awesome. I love having two’a you. But wait which one is the real you ‘cause I don'wanna acciden’ally kiss someone who's not my girlfriend." His eyes grew big as he slurred. "Whoa, yeah, that would be bad....but two of you!!!" He exclaimed excitedly again.

You laughed with Honey and Gogo at him.

"So does that mean you're drunk enough to sing for me now?" You asked.

"Sing?! OHH YEAHHHHH I WAS GONNA SIIIING FOR YOUUU, okay okay just....just wait here...." He said and got up from the bar stool, stumbling a bit. "Just stay here..." He held his hands up, "I'll I'll be right back...okay?"

"Okay, I'll be here." You smiled.

"Okay." He said and started to leave but then ran back to kiss you, catching you off guard, and then ran back to the stage. 

Gogo chuckled at your surprised look. "Yeah, he gets a bit clingy when he's drunk."

"A bit clingy?!" Honey said as if what Gogo said was a terrible exaggeration.

Gogo chuckled again. "Okay, a lot clingy! Once he wouldn't let Honey go to the bathroom alone." 

"He kept saying I was his best friend and not to go but I was like ‘Tadashi I really have to pee! And what about Fred he's your best friend too?’ Thankfully that got him distracted enough to tackle Fred with hugs instead of me." Honey explained. 

You laughed at the story with the girls.

"Next up! Ta-" the MC paused and looked at Tadashi who was just off stage "dude, I can't read your handwriting… what does it say?"

Tadashi just grabbed the mic from him instead.

"Heeeelloooooooooo Sanfransokyooooo! It is I, Tadashi Hamada, here to serenade you.....buuuuuuuut mostly just my girlfriend ‘cause she's a dork waffle and got me drunk so I would sing to her." He slurred. "But it's okay ‘cause she's really cute. Okay! This is a song! Called...ahh....umm....a thing, I dunno......anyways I umm OH! Oh it's starting!!! Everyone it's starting, shhhhh! Wasabi it's starting, look, shhhhh!!!"

You and the group laughed at him and Honey got out her phone to video it. Frankly, you were quite impressed with his talent. 

When he had finished, the whole bar applauded like mad. "Thank you!!!" He shouted and dropped the mic. He picked up his baseball cap that had fallen while he was head banging, then jumped off stage. 

You got up off your barstool to meet him. "You were amazing!!!!" You shouted over the new music playing. You reached your arms out to hug him but he pulled you into a sloppy kiss instead.

"Let's dance." He grinned and pulled you deeper into the crowd. 

Moments later, you bumped into Honey again.

"IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU GUYS EVERYWHERE!!!" She yelled over the music. "YOU GOTTA COME SEE FRED!!!!" She dragged you off behind her and soon you come within view of a mechanical bull that Fred was totally rocking. 

Having a few drinks in yourself, you decide you want to try it too after Fred. Tadashi didn’t realize this at first though, so got upset when he saw you getting on it. 

"WhAdder youuu doing?!!" He scolded. 

You shrugged. "Giving it a try."

"No no no no no!!" He said, running over and trying to carry you away from it. "I don't want you to get hurt!"

"But Fred didn't get hurt." You pointed out.

"But Fred is a idiot so even if he did I woulden’ be too worried. But you’re too pridddyyy t’ fall an’ break your face. Fred can break his face if he wants though." He slurred and pulled at your hand. "C'mon let’s do something else.” The drunken boy looked around the bar for something else to do. 

“LOOK DARTS I LOVE DARTS DON’T YOU LOVE DARTS?!" he said excitedly and pulled the darts from the board then backed up. "I'm sooooooooo good at darts, just watch me," he said, giving you a charming crooked grin and a wink. 

He threw the first dart and it hit the edge of the board. The second hit about 2 inches from the target, and the third....hit your forehead.

"Aaahhhhh!!!" You grabbed at your temple before looking down to see the bright red blood on your hands.

"OH NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" He rushed over to you. "I'm SO sorry Y/N!!!!!" He apologized, looking at the cut and hugging you. "We gotta get Baymax! Baymax!! BAYMAX!!!" he began calling and wandering a little. "OW! BAYMAX! OW! BAYMAX! ACTIVATE!!"

You held your stinging temple and ran after him, grabbing his arm with your non-bloody hand. "Hun, Baymax is at home." You pointed out. 

"Oh" He paused, looking worriedly at the dripping blood. "Well let's go find him then!!!" He said, determinedly scooping you up into his arms and heading to the doors. 

Once outside he wandered up and down the street almost whacking your head on a light post. "Umm..." he hiccupped, "where are we??"

You laughed. "How bout we get Wasabi to drive us instead?"

He nodded, setting you down and going back inside with you to find your friend.

“Aghh, my head…” Tadashi groaned the next morning. 

You rolled over in bed to face him. “Yeah, I know that feeling.” 

He looked at the bandaid plastered to your forehead. “Did I do that?” He moved his hand up to his head, groaning again. “Everything is so hazy.” 

“It’s okay, it wasn’t that bad.” You reassured. 

He turned over to pick up his phone, checking the time to see how late the two of you had slept in. In doing so though he noticed an email notification. 

“Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it.” He breathed. 

“What?” You asked curiously. 

“My professor… she’s actually going to let me make up my grade!” 

“That’s amazing!!!” You cheered. 

He looked at the time again. “Not if I don’t make it to meet her!” 

Tadashi jumped out of bed, instantly regretting the fast movement. 

You cringed as you watched him place a hand to his mouth, willing himself not to vomit. 

Hurriedly he changed out of his pyjamas and into the first clothes he could find. 

“Good luck!” You called after him as he rushed away.

A Review on NCT 127′s 3rd Album <Sticker>

So NCT 127 just came back with their 3rd Full Album <Sticker> and this is my first 127 comeback since I became a fan last year! Neozone is such a special album for me as it was their first album that I explored entirely. I've known NCT as the group who never fails any expectations so I've kept mine up although I know they'll exceed it anyway. And guess what, they did! I absolutely love their new album hence this review~

This isn't a technical music review—as I am not a musician myself—but rather a listener's honest takes, goofy notes, and interpretation on each of the tracks in the album. I admit I've also struggled to build my own opinions on some of the tracks until I listened to them over and over again.

I have also heard there are mixed opinions on the title track <Sticker> and a lot says it's another acquired taste. But I think it's not just that, as it can be a grower, just like how most of NCT's songs were for me. Maybe after a few listens and a right passage of time, it will grow on those people. The bottom line here is, I like it a lot! 😛

So I listed down the songs according to their respective track numbers and followed each with a bulleted list of my opinions and interpretations.

1. Sticker

THEY DIDN'T JUST PUNCH A NEW NOTCH ON THE BELT LIKE THAT

THIS SONG SLAPS, LITERALLY SLAPS… AND WHIPS 

The recorder at the intro boyyyy I thought something was wrong but then I remember it’s NCT lmao

It already stuck in my head from my first listen from the Instagram audio.

With Taeyong opening the verse with his divine rapping, I knew I'm in for a new ride.

STICK-UH STICK-UGH STICK-UGHGHGH

To those complaining it sounding like noise music, imagine it sounding generic. I don't think it would fit as the title track. Not a b-track or in their repertoire, even. They are called NCT because they define the NEO in the music culture and music technology!

It honestly was an unorthodox, just like all of their title tracks, which I’m inherently here for.

Literally, no one does it like them!

The growls and the vocal flexes and adlibs! (You can tell it has Yoo Youngjin's brand.)

The crisp metronome sound that’s consistently ticking except for the pre-chorus and the dance break adds depth to the soundscape. I love how it’s used instead of the usual snaps.

The production quality blew my mind. Like how can someone think those melodies would sound so exquisite? CAN I CALL THEM GENIUS?

The piano at the back, oh my God—Yes! It adds this mystifying element to the song.

I'm not sure if it's a midi violin at the pre-chorus, but it added thrill to the song. It was a great transition from the bass line in the verses to the combination of the flawless harmony with the same instrumental.

"You treat me like a boy, like a grown-up child chasing a dream" JUNGWOO BABY NO MORE HUH

Taeil, Doyoung, and Haechan—the bridge vocal trinity!

But why the heck are they cowboys? I dig the concept, but why? LMAO

BTW GUNSLINGER MARK I’M ON MY KNEES YEEHAW

This is easily one of my favorite tracks from NCT 127's entire discography 💚

2. Lemonade

Jaehyun starting off this song with his deep voice eee

The song opens to a verse oozing with chill confidence. They're like, yeah you're lurking because we’re cool.

This is such a huge slap to their haters. NCT's not chillin' like a villain, nah they're the main characters!

Well maybe they’re villains, but still ya not cooler than them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Funny enough how they could have just referred haters as simply lemons whose sour/bitter to the taste, but 127 squad's success is sweeter than all the haters' spiteful remarks so yeah, SIPPY SIPPY LEMONADE 🧃

"WOOF"

I might have just barked too wOW

Yuta’s vocals hooooO his voice just sounds so glamorous mhmm

Also Mark referencing their previous title tracks such as: Firetruck, Cherry Bomb, and Regular (it's Irregular in the lyrics) in his rap part 👌💅

I just love Mark's energy when he raps. HE RESOLUTELY BITES AND STRAIGHT UP EATS EVERY TIME HE DOES.

3. Breakfast

Now breakfast time, oh jeez!

Summer 127's bestie!

If Summer 127 talks about dancing all night long, Breakfast is the morning after.

You know what it is.

"Even if I gulp and drink you, it's not enough for me." oho Taeyong no you ha—STOP

Sexual innuendos aside, isn't it just sweet if someone tells you they'd want to have breakfast with you every day?  Okay maybe I'm melting at the thought 😩🙈💞

And I can see myself dancing to this song as I make breakfast (in the afternoon or at midnight bc I’m crazy)

This was an okay b-track for me at the first skim on the album, but boy it grew on me wildly.

Honestly one of my favorite tracks in this album.

4. Focus

Did I just invade a private call? LMAO

The analog voice filters make it like so.

Dude, this feels intimate in the level of eavesdropping a phone call between seasoned lovers. Then you realize you hear them whispering their kinks over the line and you're ooh, that's sexy! hfgklhfhf

My first listen to this, I almost went feral because,

Ooh, the holy melancholy!

Piano at the intro—I knew I'd cry to this.

This song isn't just about break-up, but the heartbreak after one.

The yearning; the remnant pieces from the shattering of what was once there.

I think I crumbled from this one.

This hit so hard I felt like I fit in the shoes with the lyrics throughout the entire song.

What’s fascinating is I clearly forgot the title when I mentally said this sounds like a sad rainy day song from the first listen.

Something I’d turn up when it suddenly rains, just because I want to feel the blues.

Taeil and Haechan singing in lower register? I wanna cry :( they’re just one of the best vocalists in K-music industry right now.

Could have been also nice if they added Yuta to the vocals.

"My selfish heart who waits for you to come back," OKAY WHO HURT THEM?

And the fact that they sang it so good that it translated every ounce of the emotions well even before I looked up for English translations is the reason why I love this song too.

6. Far

Hmm… What the hell?! Do I like this? Wait...

Alright!

The jumpy vibe from the first verse to the pre-chorus set the mood for this song. It sounds merry and heavy. It was honestly too much to take until I’ve reached the chorus part.

Honestly, I think this song could fit NCT Dream better, as it gives off a vibe similar to Hello Future's b-tracks. If some credible source say this could have made HF’s track list, I might believe you too fast.

Also Dream’s Deja Vu where they go na nananananana na na na~

Playful yet confident! That’s what I mean!

As usual, the vocals are insane! Vocal flex from left to right!

I swear Jungwoo sounded a bit like Taemin at the second verse that I had to replay it hahaha

I love hearing Johnny as a vocalist! SM, how many signs do you need until you utilize his vocal talent???

Taeil's part where he sings, "go nuts, go nuts, 'til we go bust, go bust" IDEK BUT I SNORTED A LAUGH AT FIRST LISTEN HFCAHKFHK

Not my favorite, but still great though!

The build up from the pre-chorus to the chorus—FIRE!

This song reminds me a lot of SuperM's Super Car, especially with the engine roar samples and the battle cry-like singing at the chorus.

JAEHYUN RAPPING? You mean Jaehyun the visual, the vocalist, the actor, the model, the funny dude, aka my everything?! (markie bb look pls look away for a moment)

“We got no shame” ouh TAEYONG’S FLOW IS JUST VERY HIM AND HE’S IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN

You know what's so clever about this song? It's how it ended with Mark's final rap without any instrumental, leaving you  standing there with a doppler effect-like post experience.

A super car on a super speed just whooshed past you and you look its way as it zips through the road. It's gone in an instant but you're floored dumbfounded at a sidewalk. That's how I describe this song.

8. Magic Carpet Ride

This song… Wow. Oh gosh it's so beautiful.

Their harmony in the chorus—it makes me want to kiss someone so passionately that I'd cry.

This makes me want to feel love that transcends the universe. Literally, just please take me on a magic carpet ride :(

The background harmonies too oh my goodness—HEAVENLY.

Jaehyun's voice is so warm and soulful it fits perfectly with songs of this genre.

Okay alright Doyoung Grande!

And Taeil makes me feel like I'm listening to old school R&B.

The first time I heard this from the track video, I can't stop replaying because it's just that great.

This makes me want to love. I think that sums it up.

9. Road Trip

This is such a soothing song for me, especially how I easily become nostalgic thinking about the road trips I've had.

Whenever I listen to this, my brain immediately conjures up thoughts of my ideal getaways. Gazing at the sky through the car window, stirring up from a nap in the middle of the ride, and   eventually reaching your destination.

Oh, to travel around anywhere... (curse you covid-19)

Okay that's it. I'M PACKING UP.

But where do I go—

I could also imagine Mark playing this on the guitar and the other members sing along together, something like that.

Just Wholesome™ vibes.

I love how it evokes such a nice emotion within me effortlessly.

This isn't my favorite, but I still love this.

10. Dreamer

Eyyyy such a refreshing song!

This song is so bright it makes me want to dance. I play this first in the shower!

It reminds me so much of Elevator (from Neozone)

The horns make it more lively I think!

Yuta and Jungwoo's voice suits lively songs like this.

The background vocal in low register in Taeyong's part in the first verse is so good ahhfhf

Taeil, the R&B vocal king you are...

There's this part where Doyoung and Johnny harmonized, that at first listen they seemed to clash, but it sounded actually fine after a few listens. Maybe it's just that I've never heard them do it before.

And I think it's Doyoung's laugh at the end of the bridge? Oh my goodness I really love this too!

11. Promise You

MY FIRST LOVE AND MOST FAVORITE SONG IN THE ALBUM!!!

The first time I heard this from their NCIT Sharehouse Sitcom, I fell in love with the song already.

It sounds like something you'd feel from a warm, welcoming hug.

The lyrics are so beautiful and endearing. It's definitely a be-there-for-you type of song that will touch your heart.

It definitely sounds like a promise.

A song about platonic intimacy.

This really fits to be the closing song of the album. It's like the end of it but holds a promise that says “see you soon.”

Because they cherish their fans like that.

It's also like I've watched a movie with a happy ending, where the camera pans up to the clear sky and this song starts playing.

Speaking of ending, I would love to hear them sing this as an encore stage in their concert. You know, that moment just before the stage lights die down at the end of the concert where they send final blows of flying kisses to NCTzens. Then you come home smiling and crying.

This wasn't supposed to be this long since I originally planned to write this with just simple phrases and emojis but I got too engrossed lol. I also meant to include my own ratings but I figured it’s pointless since I can’t really decide about them hahaha

I really enjoyed the whole album and I love how they're progressively defining what NEO means by breaking through standards. It's not NCT music if it doesn't make you say "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?" But then you realize it’s stuck in your head and you’re enjoying it already.
