Chris McLean has always observed your patience and dedication toward glamorizing yourself. But what can he say? You take your role as the hostess of Total Drama Island seriously.

Before every episode airs, you’d routinely get up a couple of hours prior to it even shooting just so you could do your make up, wanting to look as flawless as possible.

Afterwards, you’d look gorgeous and on point. And you’d constantly find him lustfully staring, even at places he shouldn’t be.

You couldn’t really blame him, though - the outfits you’d wear would be an irresistible mix of both worlds: sexy whilst keeping it classy.

And often he would insist on hiring a makeup crew to get the job done faster, you’d always reject his offers: “Y/N, I don’t think you understand how vast the budget is. Let’s just hire one. I wouldn’t want for you to wake up way earlier than everyone else just to-“

You placed the tip of your applicator brush upon his lips to stop him from trying to convince you any further.

“Babe… You know I got this.” You contended softly, before continuing to apply your Dior Blush and completing your look of the day.

“If you insist.”

And suddenly, an idea sprung to your head.

“Wait - how much time do we have left?”

He checked his golden watch, which complemented his slick black suit and emanated the pleasant aroma of his signature cologne.

“About 1-2 hours, plenty of time.”

“I have an idea - c’mere for a sec, babe.” you professed with a grin, motioning towards the chair beside you. It was placed right in front of the sophisticated makeup station: a vanity adorned with LED lights, an abundance of brushes and products, and countless other essentials.

Obediently, Chris complied with your request, waiting to hear what you have to say.

You playfully cupped your head in your hand, slightly cocking your head to the side.

“You have a really nice face … y’know?” You briefly cradled his face in your other hand, admiring his alluring features.

Chris adored it when you gave him unexpected compliments out of nowhere, they’d never fail to drastically boost his mood. Funny thing is, he thinks you don’t notice how bricked he gets over them.

“Oh darling… you know you don’t mean that,”

he nervously replied, his apprehension slurring his speech and his face marginally turning red.

But you knew him too well, how if anyone else were to say that to him he’d lash out a sarcastic know-it-all “I know I look good.” and beam a cocky grin.

But since you’re his darling, it’s a completely different scenario.

“Wanna hear my big idea?”

“Go ahead” he responded, being all ears.

“Okay, how much do you love me on a scale of one to ten?”

“Ten isn’t a big enough number for a real answer.”

Just what you wanted to hear.

“…Have you ever tried on makeup?”

“I see where this is going now.” he chuckled dryly, Chris also knew you too well.

Whenever you wanted a favor or needed to ask him something, you would always wait a while before bringing it up. This time, he mentally noted that you playfully employed the compliment manoeuvre.

“Lemme put some on you. Come on, please mi amor?” You pleaded, teasingly stretching out the ‘please’ to pull at his heart strings. He released a defeated sigh, giving in to your little scheme,

“Fine, go ahead.”

“You’re the best babe.” You lightly pecked his cheek before excitedly reaching for your makeup bag, rummaging through it’s contents.

“Hmm… let’s start with a bit of mascara.”

You placed your chair closer to him, and started lightly applying the product.

“This will come off before we start to air, right?” he reluctantly asked.

“Of course, it’s not a tattoo or anything.” you replied jokingly making his body tense up a little less.

“Your lashes are already so long … I’m starting to feel a bit jealous.” You finished off doing his mascara and he took a quick glance in the mirror and didn’t seem too fond of it at first.

“The application is a bit messy…” This was another one of your plans to see just how much of a tease you could be, as you got a thrill out of it.

You got up from your seat and sat on his lap facing him, you felt his heart rate and body temperature steadily increase.

“There we go,” You said, reaching for a foundation and an applicator brush.

You lightly blended it into his skin, and inspected your work afterwards.

“Oh wow,”

“What? Better not be ruining my gorgeous face.”

“Definitely not, wouldn’t want to do that to mi amor.”

“Ooh - what about some … lipstick.” You mumbled as you applied it onto his lips.

Acting as if you’re trying to readjust yourself on his lap, you bounced up and moved yourself closer to him.

As a result of your actions, you felt something gradually harden beneath you.

“What? I can’t help it.” he smirked.

“You know, I’d really hate to have wasted all this lipstick… so it looks like we’re going to have to share it.” You quipped, leaning in for a long sultry kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck.

As you kissed, his hand trailed down to your thigh, sliding it up your tight dress. The other hand grabbing your boob.

Suddenly, you pulled away from the kiss, examining his watch and your heart sank.

“Shit! - We’ve got ten minutes… stay put.”

Reaching into one of the drawers, you hurriedly grabbed for some baby wipes and gently cleansed his face. In the nick of time, one of the camera crew members informed you guys we’re just about to air this season’s episode.

You both promptly scrambled to your positions, making fixes to your outfit and moving some of your hair to the side - and the camera started rolling.

In celebration of finally popping Draco on that Once-a-Day pull and my darling Figma Mordred arriving, I feel like celebrating Fate once again. I've been putting this off for a while now but i think it's tie to address my love for Nobel Phantasms! I've been in love with these things since i came across Unlimited Blade Works in the old Fate/Stay night anime from the Aughts. That sh*t was epic and continues to be to this day, having been animated several times. UFOtable's version is everything. Then i learned about Apocrypha and it's anime adaption, opening up my entire world to what an NP can be. Eventually, Grand Order dropped and gave me a litany of brand new, absolutely brilliant, surprisingly cinematic Phantasms to indulge upon. This is a list of my favorite. Honorable mention to all of the animated versions of these. Mordred's Blood Arthur changed my life the first time i saw it and anytime Gil whips out Ea, i hyperventilate. Enuma Elish is gorgeous!

Saber: Tsumukari Murumasa, Baseless Blade Works

Of course Shirou would manifest as Senji Muramasa's Psuedo-Servant. It just makes sense. His Baseless Blade Works is just plain gorgeous and a brilliant evolution of EMIYA's Unlimited Blade Works. It helps that the NP takes on a unique form with each Ascension level, too.

Honorable Mentions: Barghest, Suzuka Gozen, Richard I, Takusagi Shinsaki, Mordred

Archer: Enuma Elish, The Star of Creation that Split Heaven and Earth

Gilgamesh's ultimate attack is just plain gorgeous in every form I've ever seen the goddamn thing, whether he's the one doing it or not. Even in the beginning of FGO, with it's limited budget, it still stood above most of the other NPs available. With that animation update, though... Holy sh*t! It's also goddamn devastating, doing insane damage depending on how high a level your Gil is.

Honorable Mentions: Ishtar, Nikola Tesla , UDK-Barghest, EMIYA, Atalanta

Lancer: Hollow Heart Albion, Known By No One, Innocent Heartbeat

Melusine has a STRONG case for being my all-time favorite NP, but just her stage three version. Which has two potential executions on it's own. The animation is gorgeous, almost whimsical, but then comes to an abrupt and devastating end. Sh*t is wonderful to watch. Unfortunately, I'm still chasing her Dragonkin ass. Her Banners are never kind to me.

Honorable Mentions: Karna, Ereshkigal, Sakamoto Ryouma, Scathach, Romulus-Quirinus

Rider: Prydwen Tube Racing, Kingly Mood of Reining in Surging Waves!

Look, Mordred was going to make this list in one form or another. How can i not include my favorite Servant on a list of my favorite Nobel Phantasms? I'd put Blood Arthur up there but it's too generic in FGO. Summer Mordred and her surfing-induced tsunami is going to have to do.

Honorable Mentions: Andromeda, Iskander, Ivan the Terrible, Odysseus, Francis Drake, Medusa, Leonardo DaVinci

Caster: Viy! Viy! Viy! Let Your Wicked Eye Run Free!

The Caster Class has a surprising amount of pretty dope NPs. Going through this list, i realized that there are a lot of them that could make this list but i needed to narrow my focus. It came down to Nero and Anastasia but Ana won out. She was my first Unicorn, the one i chased on my first account for what seemed like an eternity. Adding her to the roster on this second one was everything. Plus, I'm always partial to an Ice Queen. Shiva is my favorite summon, after all.

Honorable Mentions: Merlin, Nero Claudius, Sieg, Xuanzang Sanzang, Illyasviel von Einzbern, Scathach-Skadi

Assassin: Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Ariel Garden of Vanity.

Semiramis is my favorite Assassin, mostly because she isn't really an assassin. Sure, her legend brands her as the first person to kill with poison but her NP is basically a flying warship with buster cannons all around! That sh*t is epic as f*ck and I've loved it since seeing it in Apocrypha all those years ago.

Honorable Mentions: Old Man of the Mountain, Huyan Zhuo, Yu Mei-rin, Shuten Douji, Gray, Jack the Ripper, Cleopatra

Berserker: Gou Shorai - Tenmokaikai, Ox-King Storm Call - The Inescapable Net of Heaven

Raiko's NP was a surprise the first time i saw it. She kind of utilizes a myriad of weapons to absolutely decimate the enemy and i immediately needed it at my disposal. The thing is, i don't use Berserkers. They're glass cannons so the pickings were slim. As you can tell by the Honorable Mentions, i really don't mess with this class like that so Mommy Raiko definitely made an impression.

Honorable Mentions: Lancelot, Salome, Morgan, Kriemhild

Ruler: Biten-Hasso - Shiranui, Bishamonten's Eight Aspect - Shiranui

Ruler is another Class i don't really use. They're fine but for my play style, not really necessary. As such, i have limited interactions with them so i haven't seen a ton of NPs. That said, i did like what i saw out of Kagetora's take on the Class. I don't think she's available in NA yet, but she'll be one i definitely make a run at when she is.

Honorable Mentions: James Moriarty, Amor, Iyo, Artoria Pendragon, Amakusa Shirou, Melusine

Avenger: Hajunhenjou - Sanzen Daisen Ten Mao, Papiyas Metamorphosis - Demon King of a Billionfold Heavens

This one was a coin toss between Demon King Nobu and Avenger Nitocris. Both are incredibly cinematic, both are devastating to the enemy, and both are just plain dope. I had to go with Nobu, though, because she was my second, ever, Avenger and became one of my Hit Squad members on my first count. Nepotism, maybe, but well earned. When i absolutely , one hundred percent, needed something dead, she was one of the Servants i called upon.

Honorable Mentions: Nitocris, Gorgon, Kama, Space Ishtar, Taira no Kagekiyo, Ushi Gozen, Jeanne D'Arc, Marie Antionette

Moon Cancer: Marble Phantasm, Fantasy Manifestation

This was an easy pick, mostly because Moon Cancers suck in general. Archaetype: Earth has a gorgeous NP. Stage one and three is everything you'd expect from a Type but stage two? yeah, that's all Arcueid and it's adorable. I feel like Tsukihime should get more love within the fandom. Fate just overshadows the f*ck out of it.

Honorable Mentions: Mysterious Executor C.I.E.L, Tenochtitlan, Summer BB

Alter Ego: Nammu Duranki, O' Resolute Child, Defy the Laws of Creation

Alter Egos are lousy with dope NPs. Narrowing down the one i like most was a proper chore, but i was able to do it. It's Tiamat. Obviously, it's Tiamat. Look, I'm a sucker for a Beast and Tiamat is my favorite of that lot. I wanted her on my roster since Babylon and Larva/Tiamat definitely scratches that itch.

Honorable Mentions: Okita Souji, Grigori Rasputin, Sesshouin Kiara, Kingprotea

Foreigner: Vendredi Treize, Friday the Thirteenth

Foreigner is basically my second favorite Class. I love the nod to Eldritch horrors and all of the Outer Gods, mostly because they make for gruesome little NPs. When Abby first dropped, i absolutely fell in love, but alm0st all of the Foreigners kill. That said, the nod goes to Jacques de Molay. It's cinematic, wildly kinetic, over the top, and everything you'd expect from the vessel of Shub-Niggurath. I just love this thing! Kukulkan is a close second because, Ort, but i had to give it to this gooey, sloppy, queen.

Honorable Mentions: Kukulkan, Aozaki Aoko, Koyanskaya of Darkness, Summer Abby, Yang Gufei, Van Gogh

Pretender: Ometeotl Tenochtitlan, Heart of Mexico Twofold Booting Sequence

This one was mad easy. I'm a sucker for Super Robots and this thing is gruesome if you know what is actually happening. It helps tremendously that Tenochtitlan's fellow Pretenders are kind of trash in regards to their NPs. I imagine that's because there is a lack of Pretenders Servants in general but, i mean, all the more reason to have them stand out with dope looking Nobel Phantasms, right?

Gilgamesh's ultimate attack is just plain gorgeous in every form I've ever seen the goddamn thing, whether he's the one doing it or not. Even in the beginning of FGO, with it's limited budget, it still stood above most of the other NPs available. With that animation update, though... Holy sh*t! It's also goddamn devastating, doing insane damage depending on how high a level your Gil is.

Lancer: Hollow Heart Albion, Known By No One, Innocent Heartbeat

Melusine has a STRONG case for being my all-time favorite NP, but just her stage three version. Which has two potential executions on it's own. The animation is gorgeous, almost whimsical, but then comes to an abrupt and devastating end. Sh*t is wonderful to watch. Unfortunately, I'm still chasing her Dragonkin ass. Her Banners are never kind to me.

The Caster Class has a surprising amount of pretty dope NPs. Going through this list, i realized that there are a lot of them that could make this list but i needed to narrow my focus. It came down to Nero and Anastasia but Ana won out. She was my first Unicorn, the one i chased on my first account for what seemed like an eternity. Adding her to the roster on this second one was everything. Plus, I'm always partial to an Ice Queen. Shiva is my favorite summon, after all.

Assassin: Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Ariel Garden of Vanity

Semiramis is my favorite Assassin, mostly because she isn't really an assassin. Sure, her legend brands her as the first person to kill with poison but her NP is basically a flying warship with buster cannons all around! That sh*t is epic as f*ck and I've loved it since seeing it in Apocrypha all those years ago.

Raiko's NP was a surprise the first time i saw it. She kind of utilizes a myriad of weapons to absolutely decimate the enemy and i immediately needed it at my disposal. The thing is, i don't use Berserkers. They're glass cannons so the pickings were slim. As you can tell by the Honorable Mentions, i really don't mess with this class like that so Mommy Raiko definitely made an impression.

Ruler: Biten-Hasso - Shiranui, Bishamonten's Eight Aspect - Shiranui

Ruler is another Class i don't really use. They're fine but for my play style, not really necessary. As such, i have limited interactions with them so i haven't seen a ton of NPs. That said, i did like what i saw out of Kagetora's take on the Class. I don't think she's available in NA yet, but she'll be one i definitely make a run at when she is.

Avenger: Hajunhenjou - Sanzen Daisen Ten Mao, Papiyas Metamorphosis - Demon King of a Billionfold Heavens

This one was a coin toss between Demon King Nobu and Avenger Nitocris. Both are incredibly cinematic, both are devastating to the enemy, and both are just plain dope. I had to go with Nobu, though, because she was my second, ever, Avenger and became one of my Hit Squad members on my first count. Nepotism, maybe, but well earned. When i absolutely , one hundred percent, needed something dead, she was one of the Servants i called upon.

Moon Cancer: Marble Phantasm, Fantasy Manifestation

This was an easy pick, mostly because Moon Cancers suck in general. Archaetype: Earth has a gorgeous NP. Stage one and three is everything you'd expect from a Type but stage two? yeah, that's all Arcueid and it's adorable. I feel like Tsukihime should get more love within the fandom. Fate just overshadows the f*ck out of it.

Alter Ego: Nammu Duranki, O' Resolute Child, Defy the Laws of Creation

Alter Egos are lousy with dope NPs. Narrowing down the one i like most was a proper chore, but i was able to do it. It's Tiamat. Obviously, it's Tiamat. Look, I'm a sucker for a Beast and Tiamat is my favorite of that lot. I wanted her on my roster since Babylon and Larva/Tiamat definitely scratches that itch.

Foreigner: Vendredi Treize, Friday the Thirteenth

Foreigner is basically my second favorite Class. I love the nod to Eldritch horrors and all of the Outer Gods, mostly because they make for gruesome little NPs. When Abby first dropped, i absolutely fell in love, but alm0st all of the Foreigners kill. That said, the nod goes to Jacques de Molay. It's cinematic, wildly kinetic, over the top, and everything you'd expect from the vessel of Shub-Niggurath. I just love this thing! Kukulkan is a close second because, Ort, but i had to give it to this gooey, sloppy, queen.

This one was mad easy. I'm a sucker for Super Robots and this thing is gruesome if you know what is actually happening. It helps tremendously that Tenochtitlan's fellow Pretenders are kind of trash in regards to their NPs. I imagine that's because there is a lack of Pretenders Servants in general but, i mean, all the more reason to have them stand out with dope looking Nobel Phantasms, right?

'Benedict Cumberbatch has given his verdict on Andrew Scott’s performance in the Netflix adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley.

Cumberbatch, who worked alongside the All of Us Strangers actor Scott on BBC’s Sherlock from 2010 to 2017, has said that he was “blown away” by his former colleagues’ performance in the thriller series, titled Ripley.

Speaking at the premiere for the forthcoming Netflix thriller series, Eric, which stars Cumberbatch as a father searching for his missing nine-year-old son, the actor was asked about his current viewing habits when he replied: “Obviously Ripley.”

“Because of Andrew, a dear friend, and I’m always just blown away by his artistry and always learning by watching him.

He continued: “I just love the fact I can say he’s a friend and I’m supporting him as well. He’s just extraordinary.”

The eight-part miniseries, based on the 1955 Patricia Highsmith psychological thriller, is the latest adaptation since the hit film of the same name starring Matt Damon in 1999. Fleabag actor Scott plays the infamous conman as he attempts to infiltrate a world of glamour and wealth.

Despite Cumberbatch’s glowing review and widespread critical appreciation, viewers were left divided by the series, with some saying they switched off from the series due to it being shot entirely in black and white.

“I didn’t last the first episode. The cinematography is so annoying,” said one viewer.

“Black and white is a good way to keep the budget down but adds nothing,” said one viewer.

Writer-director Steve Zallian revealed that the decision to film entirely in black and white was one made early on, and was inspired by an edition of the Ripley book that he owned.

“The edition of the Ripley book I had on my desk had an evocative black-and-white photograph on the cover,” he told Vanity Fair.

“As I was writing, I held that image in my mind. Black and white fits this story–and it’s gorgeous.”

Jude Law, who originated the role of Dickie in Anthony Minghella’s 1999 movie, has said that the Netflix adaptation “couldn’t be further” from the film adaptation that he starred in.

Inej: Shots all possible (and even impossible) angles. Lots of symbolism in the takes (ex: mostly uses sea to represent freedom and alleys to represent fear) and most of the dialogs are proverbs since every other scene is either quiet activities or realistic fight scenes that always involves a blade. Never repeats location, the main character always ends up murdering someone who deserved it at one point or another. Doesn't use music, only natural sound.

Kaz& Genya: Use the same basic storyline; cathartic revenge plots with unscrupulous anti heroes as the MC, an "eat the rich" vibe, lots of blood imagery and show off of the production team. The diference being:

-Kaz frames it as mysteries, deliberately confussing time lines, fake leads and flashbacks once the plot twist is revealed. His takes are pretentious, focussed on stress the audience and uses a lot of camera spins. His aestetic varies ; urban, dark academia,cyber punk or fantasy punk.

-Genya is more classy and less chaotic, she puts more focus on the performances than on camera movements. Her aestetic can vary from victorian, regal, light academia or cottage core to clash with the dark storyline

Mal: Found footage movies. Its pretty simple, he puts a camera on his head and walks around the forest to find anything interesting or that resembles a ghost or a dangerous beast. He uses all the footage, no matter the results; not even that time he was racing from a savage animal that turned out to be a squirrel that wanted the nuts on his pants, when he fought a bear and ended up adopting it or when Alina´s voice could be heard in the background , asking him to stop fooling around and do the dishes like he asked him to.

Jesper: His tecnique is similar to Mal. But puts the camera on an animal companion (a horse or a goat) so people won't miss his gorgeous face. He does way more risky things, like running in the middle of a storm or in a gang fight. Unlike Mal he does editing on the footage and adds a lot of effects with no actual meaning , like photoshoping himself figthing a giant hamster. All his budget goes to his shiny and colorful outfits he never repeats on a single scene (sometimes not even a single shot). He once envisioned and wrote the script for the story of a boy struggling with adiction and insecurity that he covers with jokes and a vanity facade while feeling trapped in a dark world that is easier to live in and a healthy life he would like but feels he doesn't deserve...but that doesn't include battling a giant hamster so what would be the point?
