Great down in Jacksonville with the spotted ponies. GP was really solid for his first full show since March... and he was so willing and cute around his fourth set of 2’6 courses. Hawk showed incredible maturity and is really starting to work round and long and low. And I got to hop on Henry for a fences class and we laid down a beautiful round with just a small rider error. Awesome ride this afternoon on my favorite little pony mare. Pickles was so ready to work, and we accidentally popped over a 2’6 vertical on an angle with ease because I thought it looked smaller than that (which I guess says something about how well Pickles is jumping around). Pickles has been so awesome and solid this week, even in the wet and mud. She also has decided that she likes the show pony life and quarter sheets are really nice things. I’m so incredibly excited for Hawk’s future.... he cantered his first couple crossrails yesterday like it was just another day at work, and today he was a bit sore but very happy to go work and stretch his muscles out. I’m going to have to pull out all the poles exercises I’ve ever seen to keep his brain thinking now 😂 but taking it slow with him is 100% worth it because he’s seriously going to be something special. I’m obsessed. This little mare seriously blows my mind with her natural instincts over fences...5th day jumping and Pickles stormed around the Amoeba course at @poplarplacefarm like she’s been jumping for ages. She was so bold to the fences that we jumped our first 2’ fence (on an angle too, bad Catherine), and was pleasant away from her buddy and easy through the water.
