While I was in a motel this weekend (after plans to camp fell through due to the park's campground randomly being closed for some event... which was not listed on their website's calendar, which showed a complete blank for this weekend... sigh), I drew a bunch of silly things on the free notepad provided with the room.

Some Ninja Turtles, drawn with no reference at all. Was going for how they looked in the oldest toys and video games, with the "blank" white eyes when they had their headbands on and such.

Started as a duck evolving into a goose like a Pokémon... then veered off into weirder territory with a goose-hydra and then... goose version of Biblical angels with the bajillion heads and wings and such.

Was watching a Youtube video and someone used the phrase "wall of emoji." That sounded like a Magic card name, so of course I had to draw it... and come up with actual Magic: The Gathering card stats to go with the image.

Random fact that nobody would ever know if I didn't write it here: the name "Skelemon" originally was the name of a made-up Digimon, who was going to be the villain of a (very short-lived) fanfic I started to write somewhere back around the 1999-2000 range. Of course, the "Skelemon" in that story was not a Rasta-skeleton with dreadlocks, smoking weed and such. He was a skyscraper sized skeleton monster. But the original Skelemon did have the weird "bug fang" jaws on the outside of regular humanoid teeth, which carried over to the new one's design.

Inspired by the name of the hotel I was staying at. This may be the only time you'll see me drawing anything like that. 😂😂

I've drawn "thuggy bugs" like this a few times before (especially the beetle spray-painting), but I think this might be the first appearance of the Pimptipede.

And finally, on the blank white cardboardy page at the very end, some of my "literal Mormon crickets" that I've been drawing for over a decade (I want to say my first drawings of them were from 2012, maaaybe late 2011.) Recently I've started drawing them with visible mouths.

So this is my first professional office decor.

His name is Horace.

He will be decorated for every holiday :)
