Wow, this post hit me intensely in a way I've never realized before, combining my most beloved ships and omg it made me realize how much they resemble each other. People say that my beloved Sabezra is only a "platonic friends thing", but little do they know that I started my shipping business with the parents of shipping, at age of 5 to 6 years old, watching my dad perform his every night ritual of watching x-files untill falling asleep, asking to my dad why the two agents from HIS favorite show were always together and too close but he would never admit already that they were a couple, I'd be so confused and pissed off lol My dad would simply answer me : well, it's complicated, but I hope they become one, one day. I grew up with this too, Mulder and Scully, I'm 21 now and I learned my lessons to what it's indeed a platonic pairing and what is """""platonic""""", you know what mean

I mean, come on, Dana and Fox are so much alike Sabine and Ezra, if we take the universe context: Dana may not be older than Fox like Sabine is older than Ezra, but when they first met, Dana couldn't stand Fox bc he was this goofy weird "kiddo", brilliant but totally excluded in the FBI, who would get easily on her nerves because of how reckless and cocky he was. Scully and him were assigned to so many things together that they grew together, they made a bond and a connection constructed by respect and trust. Dana was the most mature and serious of their duo, and sometimes I could see she killing Mulder with her eyes lol but still, there wasn't a single soul on her workplace and in her life that she could trust more than that idiot. She even said it herself, she wouldn't put herself on the line for anyone else except him. How's that any different from Sabine and Ezra? Or Bo and Din??? They'd die for each other, they'd live for each other, even if life would be a hell, they'd keep fighting just to honor each other's hope for a better future, and at the same time, they would leave everything behind to support each other. This three pairings do show us a friendship that were slowly built into something more, something deeper and something based on trust, respect and devotion. They truly tell us a story about strong independent women that are broken inside and sensitive, brilliant and underestimated men who are lost in the world, who are alone with their demons. They don't need each other to survive, but they two agree that they are better together, as one.

I still haven't catch up with DinBo bc I'm still in season one of The Mandalorian, watching with my boyfriend, but I am seeing the spoilers bc everytime someone mentions that they are alike Sabine and Ezra, well, I'll be there to see with my eyes, and YES THEY DO!! But whenever I have the chance to finish all the 2 season and get to watch Bo and Din interacting, guess people will have to mute me cuz I won't shut up about it lololol

I find it so funny that Mulder and Scully had a son together, kinda like Kanan and Hera did, but there are still people in the fandom who don't see them as a couple bc of the lack of kisses and more intimate moments. I still do be processing when I see people be like "are you sure Jacen is Kanan's son?? Bc Kallus was there, bc Rex, bc he doesn't look like Kanan or Hera..." and so many theories. I think I have a thing for this type of relationships, like Kanan and Hera and Mulder and Scully. Hoping fiercely that even though Bo and Din and also Sabine and Ezra may never really kiss on screen, we get the chance to "realize" that the big moment of omg they are indeed a couple is as subtle as my previous and beloved pairings Kanan and Hera and Scully and Mulder😂🤣

As a Gen Xer whose first ship was the X-files (where the term shipping originated), and grew up on classic half serialized/half episode of the week TV, do not even remotely think that dinbo is done and over.

I grew up on slow burns for YEARS. Moonlighting, Remington Steele, X-files, Xena, these shows took their TIME. The casuals who don't analyze shows like we do, absolutely noticed Din and Bo are a thing, boomers like my mother just assume they are a couple already.

Honestly, I would have been more worried if Din and Bo were kissing on screen already, since season 4 is already written, and we may get one more. Remember for Anakin and Padme's tragedy to hit hard, they had to be married in the middle. I'm okay with them taking their time. I think LF realizes they mucked it up with Rey and Ben by building up the dyad to kill Ben off (and I definitely think they are resolving that story and fixing the fractured unsatisfactory fairy tale.)

What I think would be really funny (and possible) though, is if Din and Bo actually do end up being like Scully and Mulder and Kanan and Hera, where fans start wondering when the BIG MOMENT [kiss/sex] will happen, only to realize much later that it already happened off screen, and now fans have to back over previous episodes with a magnifying glass and a timeline spreadsheet to figure out when they were having sex!

Got another one 😊 What would meeting the boys be like before they turned?

Okay the tumblr app is being an utter ass, so I had to upload this via my dad’s computer. So I did have my own side theories about the boys, how they turned, and so on. But that’s until I learned there is actually a finished script for a Lost Boys prequel that was never filmed. Joel Schumacher, rest his soul, had prepared two scripts after our Lost Boys was filmed. One was a prequel that would show how Dwayne, Marko, David and Paul were turned, the other called Lost Girls because Joel wanted to continue on the vampire idea. However, due to tragic circumstances, the prequel never kicked off despite being backed up by Joel, Keifer Sutherland, Billy Wirth, Alex Winter and Brooke Mccarter. But, the script still circulates which is why I have a bit of insight on the boys' past. Like I said I have my own old fan theories, but after reading the script I just fell in love with it and personally I consider it semi-canon. David and the boys were a street gang living on the beaches along the Santa Carla shore in 1906 just days before the big earthquake hit San Francisco, pick pocketing trying to scratch up a living with Marko while Paul would win fist fights, all the while Dwayne (and his brother Jasper! I'm dead serious!) would run through the crowd pick pocketing distracted men in the crowds. Marko is a lot more openly sassy before he changes, and I bet you he was an utter flirt back in the day. Hooting at classy ladies, whistling their way. Most would probably be offended by such brash behavior, but I can picture a few younger debutantes giggling to each other about the cute blonde boy caked in dust. As far as romantic gestures go he’d probably be a little clumsy. Like he’d pick you a wad of wildflowers but he’s so careless that by the time he brings them to you its a bunch of stems and maybe three petals left. Still, he’s sincere and you’d just melt at that goofy smile. He was definitely the laid back one who would be quick to jump in when things got a little rough. Paul’s caught mid-swipe? Cue Marko jumping from behind and whacking the enraged prospector over the head with a plank of wood he finds so they can escape. Oh the mischief he got into with Paul. Granted all the boys were his brothers. They’d scrape together whatever they had for a meal that night if they could, passing around a rusty old flask of whiskey while they warmed up by the crudely thrown together fire.  David was a lot more open back then. Well, he’d still stick to his own pack, but he wasn’t the cruel sadistic killer he pegs himself to be 80 years down the line. No, he’s just trying to make a living, and sometimes you gotta be mean. Still, he has his own code. No kids, no families. He isn’t about stealing food out of babies mouths, and neither are any of the others so long as they work alongside him. He’s still very much in charge, but the lack of super human strength and invincibility does take a bit of the edge off when he comes across someone stronger than him. They aren’t the only gang in Santa Carla, and not everyone was willing to let a few punk kids waltz in on their turf. More than anything David is incredibly loyal, even later once he’s turned. His friends are his family, the only one he’s ever known. Something else I’d like to imagine is David being quite the suave bastard. Not to give anything away, but he can certainly sweep even the most royal princess off her feet. Even when he screws up a line he’d bounce back with something equally clever. He is one charming son of a bitch. He can make an old woman blush, and young girls squeal. Now onto Paul. Yeah Paul is still the same lovable doof he’s always been. Vampirism has certainly changed him, there’s no denying that. But even before that he was getting into rough and tumble scraps with bulky, war torn sailors for a few quick bucks. And dammit, he’s pretty good. I can picture him being a bit more mellow just because he does have to be more careful with his currently mortal form. I’d say he’s a pretty massive flirt. Hell, he and Marko are wingmen! Catch them chirping at gorgeous girls outside of the bar while keeping an eye out for any fat cats strolling along who may help them nab a pretty penny. Unfortunately I doubt women were an exception. I can easily see them taking advantage of the young lady being utterly flustered while the other stole her coin purse, or slipping a priceless bracelet off her wrist while kissing the top of her hand. Paul was most likely the type to sleep around when he could, but more than anything he was a loyal friend. At the time, I don’t picture him being much of a hopeless romantic per say, as I think he’d be a bit too wild and free to be worrying about all that mushy stuff, but that doesn’t mean he’s opposed to the idea.  Dwayne would still have his brother Jasper, and I guarantee you those two were probably inseparable. Maybe even more so than the Frog Brothers. Dwayne is already such a loyal friend I can only imagine how much he cared for his brother and friends. Growing up on the streets can definitely whittle away at one’s kindness until it’s every man for themselves, but I can picture him feeling unbelievably guilty when he sees a girl cry because she can’t find her mother’s ring. He’s a sneaky one, no doubt about that. I think before his brother’s passing he was much more open, mischievous, a typical teenager living with his ragtag group of friends. With all the drama that followed with turning, what it made him become, it definitely forced him to grow up quite a bit. Granted we see he’s still a playful goof just like the rest of them, but for the most part he leaves that up to the others. Honestly the boys were, for lack of a better term, more alive before they turned. You have to remember they were just kids with dreams of having more, of getting off the streets. When they turned it brought out the darkness in all of them, and after over eighty years of being warped by Max there’s definitely even more we don’t see. I would’ve loved to see our boys one last time up on the silver screen, but I am still grateful we got a taste of what could have been and give us some further insight into what they were like before.

Personality

quill is a lot like wally in personality. she has shown to be fun-loving and very playful, and fairly light-hearted, even in serious situations. quill is also very fond of making puns and pop-culture references, almost too frequently. shes pretty silly, almost similar to ray, and tends to get giggly, especially when flustered or just in a really good mood. however she is a lot more easy-going and laid back than wally, having been excited to connect with iris and joe despite being equally bitter about having grown up without a father figure. she doesn’t often get worked up easily by things, only mildly irritated, which often followed by a pretty comedic reaction. she is very sassy and is always making witty, snarky comments. she can be sarcastic too, making her butt heads a lot with harry and ralph. though sometimes she can overtalk ( ok, more than sometimes ), something she is very insecure about, and sometimes won’t make a comment on situations until provoked. she’s not as impulsive as her brother is, instead of more cautious and level-headed, favoring thinking and planning over running in blind. quill is a major coffee addict and can almost always be seen with a cup of it in hand or nearby. she can usually be found at jitters in her free-time, often accompanied by wally, H.R., or joe. 

Abilities

quill’s meta ability is electrokinesis, or electricity manipulation. her body acts as a lightning rod, able to absorb electricity, as well as an electrical conductor. she can run electricity through her body, as well as release it or shoot it out at any amount of power she wants ( within reason, of course ). she can also shape it, such as making an electricity whip or spear. When using an overload of her power, her eyes turn bright yellow and spark, however this can cause her to ‘shortage out’, or lose her memory for upwards a whole day depending on how much she exerted herself. she’ll usually regain it, but it’ll come back to her quicker if she takes a nap. team flash takes turns keeping track of her whenever this happens.

Backstory

quill west is the youngest of the west siblings and the twin sister of wally west. she wasn’t raised with iris and joe but instead with her mother, francine west, as well as her brother wally. for most of her late teen years to early twenties she worked as a barista at cc jitters, until the night the particle accelerator exploded. at the time, she had been in central city, trying to fix the electrical box at their local jitters location ( a power outage was caused right before the explosion due to poor weather ). since she had some skills in mechanics they sent her over, but the explosion, much like barry, caused her to get completely electrocuted. 

she was in the hospital for a week before they let her go, surprised she didn’t have any burns or injuries, other than a few bruises and a slight concussion. It wasn’t until the day after she was released from the hospital and returned home that she discovered she was a meta. she accidentally shortaged out the light in her room, and eventually the whole house, unable to control her electricity. she hid this from her mother as well as the rest of the world for a long time, and ended up never getting the chance to tell her that she was a meta. but she did tell wally, who helped her practice controlling her powers in secret. 

pretty quickly after reconnecting with joe and iris, quill began to get to know team flash and become extremely close with them, especially barry. she accidentally figured out he was the flash by walking in on them at S.T.A.R. labs when looking for iris. they made her swear not to tell anyone, and as a sure agreement, she revealed to them that she was a meta. not long after, she began to handle the electrical work and some mechanical work in S.T.A.R. labs, usually alongside cisco or harry. eventually, she started going out on the field alongside barry and the others, picking up the superhero alias THUNDERBIRD.

Headcanons

-unlike wally, she doesn't live with the west fam, she lives on her own in a loft nearby, kind of like kara but quill’s loft is a little bigger.

-she has a comfort animal, a golden retriever named buddy !! he's her baby !!

-everyone thinks thunderbird is a boy. most likely because she wears her hair like wally's whenever she's out being super. she's VERY popular among girls, which she really doesn't mind. she now presents as male when out as thunderbird.

-she has a drink named after her at jitters !! the 'thunderbird' is an expresso with the foam in the shape of a thunderbolt. it has so many shots its guaranteed to make your heart stop.

-her favorite drink at jitters is actually the reverse flash, a secret menu drink. she'll also go for the zoom, sometimes.

-shes like ?? never wearing her own clothes. she borrows shirts and sweaters and hoodies, etc. from barry and wally all the time, and sometimes even iris.

-she does struggle with social anxiety. she may act pretty social and crazy around team flash and her family, but outside of that she's heavily introverted and EXTREMELY socially awkward. to strangers she may come off as just really goofy and weird, but on her end shes usually really anxious and trying to cover that up with overtalking and unfunny jokes. she does get very stressed in long social situations and can be physically exhausted if out around people too long.

-her suit was made by cisco ( of course ) and is heavily based off of his own vibe suit, which she often tells him looks really cool ( or 'dope' more specifically ). its made mostly of leather, with heavy rubber padding inside the chest area to protect her from accidentally shocking her heart to death. but it also lowkey smushes her chest, not in an uncomfortable way, but definitely contributes to her more masculine appearance.

-the wings on the back of her suit are supposed to be bird wings!

-cisco calls her 'pikachu' and she literally cannot stand it. and harry calls her sparky which shes indifferent to.

-she's EXTREMELY close with wally. they grew up together and took care of each other a lot, especially when their mom got sick and was in the hospital. they've always been there for each other and continue to be. they're best friends and nearly inseparable !!

-wally and quill love to tag team ... wally can charge quill with a lightning throw and quill can create a REALLY powerful attack from it. it's like their ultimate move, but also always puts quill out of commission afterward, so they try not to do it often ( though sometimes they can't help showing off).

-quill loves to act cocky while on the field, but she's actually quite humble and is very thankful for her powers. she's one of the few metas who loves their powers and wouldn't trade them for anything.

-shes a big superhero fan and knows A LOT about every super, including her friends like barry and oliver. she studies the multiverse and it's heroes occasionally too, and sometimes visits earth-38 to study with kara. she got to meet superman once and she never shuts up about it. she also loves wearing shirts with superhero logos on them.

she’s team mechanic and usually fixes up S.T.A.R. labs after meta of the week destroys it. shes also an ‘electrician’ of sorts and can get the place to light up again if the lights shortage out.
