예술하는 영화는 모두가 가난하지만 허영심이 가득해. 하지만 예술을 논하고 예술을 위해 가난도 불사한다. 신기하지. 그 원동력은 어디서 나올까. 지금은 자본 아니면 움직일 생각조차 안하는, 카피와 패러디, 복제, 가짜가 판을 치는 시대인데. 그래서 예전의 것들이 귀하고 더 창의적이며 정도가 깊다. 현대의 미술도 그만큼의 가치가 있지만 옛 저항에서 반영된 울림은 따라올 수 없는 것. 그저 작업에 집중할 수 밖에 없는 환경의 영향 탓도 있을것이다.

한세기 지나면 오리지널을 찾기위한 활동이 더욱 값질 수도 있고 또는 출처가 불분명한 껍데기 작품들만 떠돌아 다닐수도 있다는 생각이 든다. 다 죽으면 쓰레기로 변모하겠지만. 대체 어떤 역사가 기록에 남고 어떤 작품들이 시대를 기록할런지.

Super Girl’s Are In The World

Ok, so, I was reading a Super Girl comic and it was taking a bad turn (psycho boyfriend kidnapping her/locking her up stuff) and I feel kind of sick but then I kept reading...

She fought her way out. So I kept on going...

And at this point I thought ‘wow warning sentence right there that’s never a reason you bastard.’

The sick excuses just kept coming. The twisted reasoning.

Then there came one of the best messages I have ever read in a comic book. It just makes me so happy to know that heaps of people are getting this message from a superhero. 

Everyone deserves a chance to read stuff like this, to know how much of a Super Girl (or Super Boy or Super Person) they are.
