When I wondered what s2 might bring I did not think of Crowley and Aziraphale adopting a confused Gabriel into the bookshop to be the oblivious third wheel but you better believe I'm gonna take it pls and thx much obliged

so i went and cut all of the scenes from the trailer + teaser into what i think is more or less the chronological timeline for them. @neil-gaiman, i’ll probably receive a “wait and see” but how does this look?

(there are also notes at the bottom for some of my choices + alternate possibilities) (the video is also cut off at the sides a little)

- i put all the flashback scenes at the end since it’s hard to say in which episode exactly they’ll be shown

- gabriel in the window is very unclear, but i thought it might be after/around the time muriel visits the bookshop

- i made a mistake and couldn’t change it but the elevator ding could be when crowley sneaks into heaven

- someone playing a vinyl i think is during the WW2 scene

- new beelzebub scene is hard to place, but it’s probably around when the demon goes to tell crowley the rumours, or around the demons start attacking the bookshop (around the time aziraphale “starts a war”)

- i thought the scene with the blueish car might’ve been azicrow travelling to find the clue, but since the car doesn’t look like the bentley it’s unlikely.

- the bit where crowley says that they’ll hide gabriel from everyone together sounds like the first half was edited and changed, + aziraphale’s outfit and the lighting fits with the first scene, therefore my hypothesis is that crowley is saying something like “we should move in together”, or something similar, (promo photo showed his chair-throne at the bookshop and apparently in the NYC panel he went into the bookshop holding a cardboard box with a plant in it, as if he was moving his plants).

- ALTHOUGH - the first scene of the trailer might not be one of the first scenes of the season. crowley and aziraphale seem a bit mad at each other, and we see crowley being so mad he summons lightning later on. if he DOES say how they have to hide gabriel from everyone together in that scene, maybe this happens later. so it would be: something happens and azicrow get into a fight > crowley is so upset he summons lightning > crowley goes somewhere and finds something out about what’s going on with gabriel > races through london on the bentley(?) > returns to the bookshop > explains what he learnt to aziraphale > “we have to hide him from heaven and hell together” > they make up.

- i think aziraphale’s magic show is a flashback, (partly because i have no clue where else to put it).

- “hell won’t like that” is hard to place. it might be before he goes to heaven, in a “my folks won’t like it that i’m pretending to be their enemy” way. there’s also someone in white standing to his left, presumably either gabriel or muriel, (it got cut off).

Gabriel redemption arc??? (hopefully)

After watching the trailer 8 times, I’ve got stuff. (In no particular order.)

That line about feeling how everything wojld be better being with one person? Literally shows Aziraphale and Crowley together drinking wine and it makes my heart leap with joy I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

Muriel is amazing! I can’t wait to see them on screen.

It looks like Gabriel lost his powers (since his eyes aren’t purple). In the later part of the trailer, we see them as purple so I’m guessing he either gets them back, or we watch him lose them.

Also, at one point we see an angel statue, and when it was shown from afar (before zooming in), my first thought was Weeping Angels, which it definitely is not.

Okay so I just watched the good omens s2 trailer, and I want to share my thoughts on one specific moment.

(Trailer spoilers below)

This brick was thrown through the bookshop window, and it’s hard to see at first, but the text says “SURRENDER THE ANGLE”

I assume that whoever wrote this was attempting to say “surrender the angel,” but misspelled it.

In the next scene Aziraphale says he “thinks [he] may have just started a war”

And since only humans would be dumb enough to misspell Angel, my guess is that the war Aziraphale has started is not between heaven and hell, but rather between Humans and Heaven/angels.

I could be wrong, or this could've been obvious to everyone but me, but I just wanted to get my theory out there.

“I’m back,” should, in Crowley’s rather relevant opinion, have been enough to get Aziraphale’s attention. If he were being perfectly honest, walking in the door, blinds down and ineffably locked for the time being, should have been enough for the angel to turn his attention from his collection of newspaper clippings. Clearly, Aziraphale had different ideas. Different standards. 

Having checked upon entering that Gabriel was not for some fucking reason in the bookshop still, Crowley, magnanimous being that he was, cleared his throat and took off his glasses with a decisively dramatic flair. Still, nothing. 

“Angel.” Crowley tried again. “I said I’m back.”

This time at least there was a verbal response. A dry “Yes, I can see that”. Except, Crowley thought, he absolutely was not seeing that considering he still hadn’t looked up. 

Deciding on one last courteous attempt, he strode forwards and pinged the bell on Aziraphale’s shop counter. A side-eye from the angel. Good. Fine even. 

“I said, I know, Crowley,” Aziraphale muttered. 

Crowley pinged it again. And again. And again. Ringing it fast enough to be a terror and a nuisance. Aziraphale huffed a sigh, put down the article clipping with a little more force than necessary and stood up, smoothing out his waistcoat in what Crowley knew to be a direct antagonisation in making Crowley wait longer for the conversation to actually start. 

“Yes, Crowley. You’re back. Welcome back.”

Crowley withdrew from the bell. “Gonna ask where I went?”

Aziraphale’s brow raised itself gracefully and Crowley somewhat wished he’d left the glasses on. 

“I wasn’t planning on it, no. Considering your little hissy fit outside was enough to rattle the windows, I sort of figured out that you hadn’t gone far, my dear.”

Crowley really wished he had the glasses on still. “Right. Well. Is he still here? Where is the bastard?”

Aziraphale winced but pointed up to the apartment he’d very, very recently miraculously had installed. “He said something about looking through an interior decorating magazine and left after you did.”

“Interior decorating? Where’d he even get one of those? You got a secret stash or something?”

Aziraphale’s scowl was impressive and Crowley really was impossibly fond of it, he grinned and pulled himself up onto the counter, swinging his legs round to sit somewhat cross-legged. Aziraphale seemed to be holding back from rolling his eyes. 

“Really, though, Angel, what are we going to do about him? First class stamp one way back up? Down? I don’t think they’d be too fond of a surprise delivery down there but they’d make do I’m sure. Does he remember anything?”

“Crowley! No! He’s practically human now, we can’t just- we can’t let him- we- well, we just can’t. He came here for help. Who would I be if I turned him away?” Aziraphale’s vehement disapproval faded quickly towards the end and Crowley’s smirk softened. 

“I know, Angel, I was only teasing.”

“Mm.”

Crowley held a hand out, relieved when Aziraphale, eyes still downcast, came and took it, gripping a little tighter than normal but this hadn’t been a particularly normal day so far and Crowley could hardly blame him for that.

“We’ll do it together.”

Aziraphale’s glance up was utterly familiar, part doubt, part insecurity, part fear for what was to come, part absolute bastarding temptation because he really did want Crowley to promise his help. “Together?”

Crowley quirked a smile, squeezing the hand in his. “Yeah, why not.”
