hi it's the good omens mascot here's some shit about me that might be relevant
I appear to have accidentally caused chaos so I figured you might as well know about me since I'm responsible for it. And also so that you know who you broke, thanks ineffable fandom.
I have been called the prophet by some of you all. This is not entirely untrue, but I would like to add as I did in one post, that Apollo also gave me the curses of art, (very emotional) music, (sometimes good mostly dreadful) poetry, (same parentheses apply, except that the dreadful is on purpose) writing and (used to be good now dreadful) medical knowledge, and so yes, you did accidently adopt a messenger of an ancient Greek god.
Yes, this entire entry into your cult happened from start to now happened in 48 hours.
This will seem less bizarre when I give you context about me and fandoms. I changed career paths (after three years of intense study that cost me my sanity) from science to the arts because I was inspired by drarry fanfiction of them leaving their ministry jobs and following their dreams. Yes I tossed three years and my loss of sanity away in one week of decisions. I'm now a designer. Thanks Draco.
I read so much drarry fanfiction that my mum had to take me to the hospital for injured wrists. I wore wrist and elbow supports and was in constant pain for a few months. I was only later introduced to autoscroll. Yes, I am a fool. Yes, I am unaware of how to human.
I'm broke and cheap enough that I feel guilty buying bottled water, but for Christmas I spent the equivalent of around 150 bottles of water getting a Bakewell tart custom made (they don't sell them where I live). Why? Because in one single fanfiction, it is Draco's favourite food. I would never spend that kind of money on a dessert for any real human being.
That is to say, you all are not ready for when I REALLY fall for Crowley. I don't saunter vaguely downwards for people. I bypass earth and crash into hell, leaving a smoking pit in its infernal ground.
I swear I'm not as dumb as I seem, I just have ZERO general knowledge, and am terrible with faces. I can tell you what the graffiti on the walls of Pompeii from before 70 AD said but I don't know who my previous president was, and personally I think that's very classy of me.
Some of you seem concerned about my sleep schedule. Worry not, I sleep in four installments, night, morning nap, afternoon nap, evening nap. I sleep more than you all, that I can promise. I sleep more than my doggy sister.
About the streams and the timezones, I have no idea how to make it so people can watch, because I frequently mix up east and west and last morning I mixed up the Pacific and Atlantic ocean. I don't know at what point the Eastern hemisphere becomes the Western or how any of it works. I also thought Wakanda was a real place.
But hey fun fact, in 2020 diclofenac sales were dropping in Iceland. I know this because I wanted to make sure to use the correct painkiller in one sentence of a story I was writing. It was completely irrelevant. But hey any of you writers here probably feel my pain. I don't write fanfiction, but I am an author and I write original stories. And honestly what is more useful, Icelandic diclofenac sales from three years ago or timezones?
A career test once told me to be a standup comedian.
Yes that's me Asmi, just your regular dumbass lad who is slightly unhinged, serving himbo twink energy, hello hi nice to meet you all. PS: the poll results are out and Doctor Who won, so tremble, DW fandom.
#good omens fandom#good omens mascot#asmi#weirdly-specific-but-ok#this is me y'all#good omens brainrot#thanks for breaking me i figured you should know about me#crowley#just crowley i'm going to shatter soon#drarry#draco malfoy#fandom culture#fandom things#doctor who#dw fandom#more inaccurate summaries coming up#good omens#fanfiction#and how it ruined and saved me

Good afternoon/morning/night/whatever it is, everyone! I'm here to spread the word that After the End, a mod for Crusader Kings 3 set in a post-post apocalyptic Western Hemisphere where society has largely built back up to a medieval level, is searching for 3D artists to join the dev team!
If you are interested, either in becoming a dev or just in the mod in general, feel free to join the discord server linked below! We're chill, we love to talk about the setting even with people who can't play it on account of not owning CK3, and best of all we are all slightly unhinged!
If you would like to offer your services to the dev team, the discord server also holds the application form. I strongly encourage anyone who's got 3D modeling skills and some time on their hands to apply!
DISCLAIMER: I am not a member of the dev team, although I did get the lead dev's permission to post this.
#after the end#AtE#discord server#crusader kings 3#crusader kings#3d modelling#Castles in America#bigots need not apply <3

Not to be like Ackshually but our form of government is the predominant one in the western hemisphere, most latam countries modeled their governments off ours but they’re not exact copies. It pops up in other parts of the world too. We just hear about parliaments more often bc most of our closest allies have them. Sorry for dropping all this at 7:30 in the morning I was a polisci major
hey, i came by the subject honestly by saying i was clueless about places that weren't the uk or canada lol. good to know!

I'll bite:
The Last Jedi is a good Star Wars film but suffers from being 1/ people's first exposure to the unique Rian Johnson tone 2/ out of sync with the first film which is firmly "action with quips" standard not Johnson's dramatic with panto moments and more importantly the final film which made it moot. Right now it's associated with the nausea of bigoted trolls, tonal whiplash and wasted potentials - in twenty years we'll remember Rose and her hope despite knowing exactly how the galaxy works and seeing Frank Oz perform sassy Yoda again.
Peanut butter varies greatly. One of my food "investments" is buying peanut butter that's just high quality roasted peanuts and salt. you have to mix it with a big spoon from time to time as it separates. It is unlike the various sugary peanut pastes you can get at the supermarket and definitely not at all like the cheapo peanut pastes I used to get before.
Tattoos mean something even when they mean nothing because you had the autonomy or the recklessness to get tatted. That's a story of ownership of your body (or not).
Email is a communication medium that got hijacked by corporate culture. If it hadn't been turned into work, email would still be associated with the thrill it had in its early days. I have a decade of emails from a friend that mean the world to me as much as if they were letters on paper.
Pineapple on pizza requires exposure to sweet and sour food and getting used to the clash. I don't recommend starting with pineapple on pizza. something more like prunes or cranberries and bacon.
The beach can be an overcrowded sensory overload, it can also be a quiet early morning walk looking over a horizon that seems to extend forever, just you and the birds.
Too hot and too cold depend on where and how you're raised/equipped, how well the buildings are designed to withstand extremes and everyone's personal temperature regulation. I thought I was built for the cold and damp as a translucent person who cannot tan at all. My joints love the heat and dry! I drink 3-4 litres a day in summer and can't go into direct sunlight during the day but there's an undeniable pain relief down to the bones at near body temperature and above. For others happiness is a warm house covered in snow. Stats say more homeless people die from too cold but our stats are skewed by being from the northern western hemisphere.
When it comes to stuff that's this personal there are no bad takes, there is no ethical quandary in these questions. now anyone trying to force these down your throat? now we have a problem.

Post-AGT Appearance 1312: Overnights CKVB 100.1 fm October 11
The album would come out at midnight local time everywhere in the western hemisphere this morning. Stores in the UK, Canada and US would have special midnight openings for interested fans. Sales would not be overwhelming, but in a few places fans would have started gathering as much as 2 hours early. Newfoundland Canada is a half hour ahead of the rest of eastern Canada. So the first station to air 58-23 would be CKVB in Newfoundland on a show called Overnights. It would be the second song after midnight this morning local time.
PBC: (Chorus) I'm 58. She's 23.
Backups: 23.
PBC: Marrying her might be the death of me.
Backups: Death of me.
PBC: Her body is perfect from toes to hair.
Backups: Toes to hair, toes to hair, toes to hair.
PBC: The places in between, well I love to go there.
Backups: Love to go there, love to go there.
PBC: I'm not robbin' the cradle. She's in the playpen,
And I might need them both soon, not sure when.
Backups: Not sure when, not sure when, not sure when, not sure when.
PBC: (As backups continue with not sure when) Marrying a young woman may shorten a life
But she'll be one lovely bride and I think a good wife.
Backups: A good wife, a good wife.
PBC: She's studying on line for a PhD.
She know science, 'specially biology.
Backups: Biology, biology.
PBC: So married to her I can live and learn.
She should make more money than I'll ever earn.
She's a real good catch but what should I do?
Backups: Should I do.
My friends all say, She's too young for you."
Backups: Too young for you, too young for you.
(Repeat chorus)
Ballerini: I'm 23. He's 58.
That's a long gap I won't debate,
But he's healthy and strong and he loves me to death.
We ran a race last week. I's the one out of breath.
He has no degree, but he knows about life.
Yesterday he asked me to become his wife.
Some say, "Don't do it. He's much too old.
Soon his penis will be soft and his hands will be cold."
I know all about life expectancy,
But his kisses, oh they give me ecstasy.
So I'll give him a chance anyhow,
And I'm gonna start writing my wedding vow.
(Repeat chorus)

A lot of them will be leaving today LOL they're going to check on our son's area and I think the water is too high and it hasn't receded off the street and has to at least receive off the street they say well they can't let you back in and the power might be out so they're going ahead and checking that out and you really would have a hard time enough to go through the water to get stuff in this too deep so he's waiting to see you but it probably will be another day if not two days that's quite a while but the clock is very nice and then blankets in this food so it's good.
So we see how it can be and they haven't deteriorated yet so we have a situation globally coming up where we have to take their place and other groups.
This morning we have some announcements we already went through the morlock problems and some of the pseudo empire mostly the pseudo empire are falling apart and they are at 30% in the Western hemisphere and trying to fight for it and they can't all of their laser bases are subdued 60 to 70% in the west are disabled and the same in the East yes. They're losing ships to the morlock they are losing a lot of them they're refueling stations are all covered and that ships are hovering and they're being preached from below just as you see in Star wars and it is the battle that is above Saudi Arabia and he knows the name he just can't say it and it is a famous place in the river area and it does a huge battle they begin attacking each other for real unfortunately all of The fleets go up on this not happening right now but it's coming up shortly probably in a week and Biden is strapped into a machine and then trying to blame him for destroying both would be Tommy f and ultimately the empire doesn't care for any of them and it keeps them fighting Tommy F might do it because Grandpa helps get rid of Tommy out from the scene and it did work what he does works and they all said we think his stuff works and it is coming up and of course Tommy F doesn't like it these things are happening right now the pseudo empire is at 30 million no they're at about 19 million Tommy and a is at about 24 million and he wasn't doing that great and I started to take shifts and he is holding is doing a little better but not much Tommy f is still losing is down to 4 million and he's now going after ships and you see it in Star wars Kenobi he is a mysterious character it's really a stan and it's not lost a shirt yet and he's apparently fighting on the rebel side so it's causing a lot of confusion and it's like helping the clones so people are upset and they don't know what to make of it a couple of other things going on around these parts some of them I could size people and their pseudo empire and they do the job they don't like what they're hearing and they don't say as much out loud when they are not real happy with it but they are announcing what's going on really getting the news to him and telling people. Send a massively huge conflict that's not true of him pseudo empire losses are more or less going to be permanent they think they can't afford to lose and they're getting beaten down pretty good.
---after this episode there a couple more things that occur and they're pretty huge they are a large scale operation which is going on shortly it's by us is to capture more area right now we have grabbed factories and we need a buffer zone that's much bigger we did discover that and it is new and huge so we're going to print

The reason to print now is we need are people to sign on

On Hurricanes
I've been InspiredTM to make another informational post.
Today's topic: Hurricanes
My expertise comes from Florida, because that's where I lived for the first 19.5 years of my life (I'm currently 23 years old).
Rest is under the "Keep Reading"
Hurricanes are also known as tropical cyclones. Tropical cyclones and hurricanes are the same thing. In the western Pacific and the north Indian oceans, they are also known as typhoons.
Seen from above (usually the ISS), they look like a big, white vortex with a hole in the middle.
Parts of a hurricane
This is Hurricane Florence (2018) as seen from the ISS.
That big hole in the middle is called the eye. Conditions in the eye are relatively calm compared to the rest of the storm. But do not be fooled, you are not in the clear yet.
On the edges of the eye, the clouds almost look flat, life a cliff face. That is the eye wall.
The trails of clouds leading into the middle are called rainbands or spiral bands.
Here is video of someone flying a plane through the eye of a hurricane. Please DO NOT try this. This pilot likely has experience with flying in similar conditions. If you try this, you will VERY LIKELY die.
Here is an image of someone in a plane flying through the eye of a hurricane. The source does not identify which hurricane it is. This is a great example of the stadium effect, wherein "the structure of the eye resembles a large arena with grandstands towering in every direction" (Source).
When you leave the eye, it means that you have entered the eye wall. This is the most intense part of the storm. High winds, loads of rain, and the part of the storm most likely to have lightning.
If a hurricane is coming and you live in the northern hemisphere, you want to be on the left side. Southern hemisphere, you want to be on the right side.
Assuming you're in the northern hemisphere (if you are not in the northern hemisphere, switch the directions | right -> left, counterclockwise -> clockwise, etc.), the right side is the most dangerous side. Hurricanes in the northern hemisphere rotate counterclockwise, so if you are on the right side of the hurricane, all of the wind and rain and whatnot is getting pushed directly toward you faster than if you were on the left side.
You remember when I said hurricanes are big?
This was Hurricane Ian (2022). That long island poking out of the storm at the bottom right? That's Cuba. In the upper left, you can see the tip of northwest Florida. That greyish bit on the upper left border is where New Orleans, LA is.
At one point, Hurricane Ian covered the vast majority of the entire state of Florida.
Consequences of a hurricane
Hurricanes are big and have lots of consequences. A good thing to remember is: Run from the water, hide from the wind.
Hurricane force winds start at 74 mph. Nobody can run from that. The faster the winds, the stronger they are. The winds will cause damage.
A big part of hurricanes is storm surge. It's a like a tsunami, but smaller. That being said, it will still fuck you (and your shit) up.
Storm surge can also cause lots of flooding. Water damage is bad. Most things don't take well to it. Some areas that are prone to flooding may legally require you to have flood insurance on your place of residence. My hometown did.
Tornadoes are also common in hurricanes. When the edges of Helene passed through my area, there was a tornado that passed by less than a mile from my house. As of me writing this post, that was yesterday morning.
Tall things (ex: trees, power poles and lines) will fall. The roads may flood. Your house may flood. Your roof may get damaged. Your roof may be removed if the winds are strong enough. Your entire house may get removed if the winds are strong enough. You may get struck by lightning (if you are outside, which you should not be). Your house or your car may get struck by lightning. If your house gets struck by lightning, I hope you have a surge protector. Otherwise, anything plugged in may get fried. Including your appliances (like your fridge, oven, laundry machines, etc.), but that's what house insurance is for.
Thing you should not do
If the roads flood, do not walk around the water. You cannot see what's in there. If there's enough current, you may get hit by something hard enough that it will injure you. This is very bad, especially if skin is broken. Sewers flood during hurricanes. Y'know what that means? There are lots of nasty things, including literal poop, in that water. Getting poop in an open wound is a very bad idea.
You also should not walk around flooded roads because water is conductive. Downed power lines still have electricity in them. Unlike in movies or video games, you cannot see if a body of water has been electrified in real life. Making contact with a body of water that is currently electrified by a downed power line, especially when you are already wet, will probably kill you.
Do not drive on flooded roads. The water is deeper than you think. Even if you know it isn't, it is far better to play it safe rather than have your car break down in the middle of a flooded road.
If you are stuck outside and there is lightning, you want to become the shortest thing in the vicinity. You do not want to lay on the ground, however. Do not hide under a tree. If lightning strikes the tree, the tree may catch fire, the tree may fall on you, part or all of the tree might explode and hit you. Lightning strikes result in ground charge being emitted in every direction from the strike. If a tree is struck, you may also get electrocuted anyways. If possible, stay away from puddles and flooded areas.
If you cannot shelter in a building, you can shelter in your car, as long as it's made of metal. A building is better, but your metal car will suffice. The rubber tires have nothing to do with it, so vehicles like motorcycles, convertibles, and golfcarts will not protect you. Only vehicles that are closed and have a roof and sides that are all made of metal are safe. Regular cars, pickup trucks, even semi-trucks will work.
Here is a good article that does some lightning myth-busting.
Here is an articles covering the Simpson-Saffir Hurricane Wind Scale. The Simpson-Saffir Hurricane Wind Scale is what determines a hurricane's category. It also has an animation at the bottom of the page that is very good at illustrating what kind of damage different levels of hurricanes can do (note: the animation is based exclusively on wind speed and does not feature any damage caused by lightning, felled trees or structures, or flooding).
For any kind of disaster that may come, it's always good to have an emergency bag (or several)!
An emergency bag should include:
a first aid kit
any meds you or your loved ones need
snacks or non-perishable food items
water (one gallon per person, per day)
batteries
charging packs
laminated copies of important documents (passports, birth certificates, important medical information, list of medications, home lease/deed {if applicable}, insurance policies)
a flashlight
a battery-powered or hand-crank radio (such as a NOAA weather radio)
a multipurpose tool
sanitation and hygiene items
emergency contact information
extra cash
an emergency blanket (Mylar is good)
and a map of the area.
(Source)
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. If you are told to evacuate, please do so, if you can (I understand that some people cannot for various reasons, such as pets or disabilities). Stay safe out here, folks!

"The Terrible Days." From Surah Hud, "The Notice."
Over 500,000 Russian men and women have been killed during its unsolicited war with Ukraine and more are on the way. The impact to the entire planet has been devastating. The heat being generated by the launch and detonation of missiles and consumption of fuels by tanks, jets, and trains is accelerating an already critical climate change problem.
Summer is drawing night in the western hemisphere, seven months after the people of Ukraine unsuccessfully requested aid from a gridlocked, callous US Congress, permitting the situation to worsen.
Muhammad said Hajj, "the Return" could help us understand what to do in situations where a few corrupt men are dragging the rest to hell:
From Al Hajj, verse 5:
O humanity! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then ˹know that˺ We did create you1 from dust, then from a sperm-drop,2 then ˹developed you into˺ a clinging clot,3 then a lump of flesh4—fully formed or unformed5—in order to demonstrate ˹Our power˺ to you. ˹Then˺ We settle whatever ˹embryo˺ We will in the womb for an appointed term, then bring you forth as infants, so that you may reach your prime. Some of you ˹may˺ die ˹young˺, while others are left to reach the most feeble stage of life so that they may know nothing after having known much. And you see the earth lifeless, but as soon as We send down rain upon it, it begins to stir ˹to life˺ and swell, producing every type of pleasant plant.
We were not put on this earth to die because of a nutbag crunch or live on a lifeless plane. The world must insist on the rain, a return to a way of life that is without risk to anyone.
Hud Continues, with verse 69-83:
And surely Our messenger-angels came to Abraham with good news ˹of a son˺. They greeted ˹him with˺, “Peace!” And he replied, “Peace ˹be upon you˺!” Then it was not long before he brought ˹them˺ a ˹fat,˺ roasted calf.
And when he saw that their hands did not reach for the food, he became suspicious and fearful of them.1 They reassured ˹him˺, “Do not be afraid! We are ˹angels˺ sent ˹only˺ against the people of Lot.”
And his wife was standing by, so she laughed,1 then We gave her good news of ˹the birth of˺ Isaac, and, after him, Jacob.
She wondered, “Oh, my! How can I have a child in this old age, and my husband here is an old man? This is truly an astonishing thing!”
They responded, “Are you astonished by Allah’s decree? May Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you, O people of this house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy, All-Glorious.”
Then after the fear had left Abraham, and the good news had reached him, he began to plead with Us for the people of Lot.
Truly, Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted, and ever turning ˹to his Lord˺.
˹The angels said,˺ “O Abraham! Plead no more! Your Lord’s decree has already come, and they will certainly be afflicted with a punishment that cannot be averted!”
When Our messenger-angels came to Lot, he was distressed and worried by their arrival.1 He said, “This is a terrible day.”
And ˹the men of˺ his people—who were used to shameful deeds—came to him rushing. He pleaded, “O my people! Here are my daughters1 ˹for marriage˺—they are pure for you. So fear Allah, and do not humiliate me by disrespecting my guests. Is there not ˹even˺ a single right-minded man among you?”
They argued, “You certainly know that we have no need for your daughters. You already know what we desire!”
He responded, “If only I had the strength ˹to resist you˺ or could rely on a strong supporter.”
The angels said, “O Lot! We are the messengers of your Lord. They will never reach you. So travel with your family in the dark of night, and do not let any of you look back, except your wife. She will certainly suffer the fate of the others.1 Their appointed time is the morning. Is the morning not near?”
When Our command came, We turned the cities upside down and rained down on them clustered stones of baked clay,
marked by your Lord ˹O Prophet˺. And these stones are not far from the ˹pagan˺ wrongdoers!
Commentary:
Muhammad, Allah's Prophet was clearly Jewish. Before he was born there was no such thing as Islam, no one called upon the Name of Allah for refuge. Yet here we have a Record of Jewish myths and a foundation for what is called "Lot" in Hebrew, "
The verb לוט (lut) means to wrap closely or to envelop. Noun לט (lat) or לאט (la't) means secrecy. Noun לוט (lot) means covering.
The verb מלט (malat) means to deliver from confinement or dangerous predicament.
Millions of people around the world are in need of delivery. Israel must be protected, the people of Ukraine the soldiers and people of Russia must end their war and peace must be returned to them. The Russians are the new Israelites, they have been enslaved by a tyrant Confederate who is bleeding them dry of boys and men, of blood and money and food and now he is killing time.
To allow these things to happen in Israel and Eastern Europe like this is wrong. Vladimir Putin and every tyrant on this planet must be put to death and order must be restored. Humanity is quite good at civilization when he puts his mind to it, we can rescue these people and give them all good lives. From quarter to quarter we know how to do it.
God is asking us to consider doing this at once through the verses:
"Truly, Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted, and ever turning ˹to his Lord˺. Is there not ˹even˺ a single right-minded man among you?”
The world does not deserve another "overwhelming day."
There is a reason Muhammad retold the story of Sodom and Gomorrah "violence and oppression", so when we were in need we would be able to retread these words. Now, let us be ready.
