I’m so happy with how much I’ve improved my relationship with food
#ive loved and learned so many new recipes lately#been trying out different things every week#trying to find healthy alternatives#but also allowing myself to have treats and snacks when i crave them#ive not been labelling food as avoid anymore#i enjoy it when i want it#just make sure everything in moderation#my protein oat cheesecake is by far mh favourite recipe iv learned honestly the best breakfast#but considering my issue with binge eating or not eating enough am really happy im finding a balance lately#its been nice to eat and enjoy food#i know with me gaining 16kg in the last year i was really freaked about food#but ive gained muscle#good weight#i am healthy#just because the number went up#it doesnt mean its a bad thing#but yeah ive been doing so good with it and having so much veg protein and loving the carbs#im so glad food isnt scary anymore 🥰

Went to the doctor just for a check up and he basically just told me "your body just processes sugar very well! :) :) :) It's a good thing! :) :) :) It can't possibly be the source of your symptoms even though eating fixes it :) :) :)" But there was also a moment when talking about my iron deficiency that is possibly one of the funniest things a doctor has ever said to me, up with the cardiologist who said "you're a medical mystery": He was going over my blood test results, and said "Your iron levels haven't gone up at all, they are still extremely low, but you're not anemic anymore" And I was like how am I not anemic anymore??? And he said "Your hemoglobin levels have gone up...somehow..." while frowning at the blood test results on his computer. It was very "somehow, palpatine has returned" lol
#the person behind the yarn#medical mention#food mention#he did at one point say the iron issue is probably an absorption issue#which. give this is either my third or my sixth absorption issue (depending on if you count electrolytes)#I'm not exactly surprised but I'm also not thrilled#at some point it stops being 'your body is very good at processing' and starts being#'your body just yeets all nutrients out of it!'#I am on two different medications to make me retain salt more#like. one that is 100% the entire reason I take that med#one that that's a side effect of that med strong enough they thought I shouldn't take both together#until they did bloodwork to check (and found it was appropriate to take both)#and I STILL need a RIDICULOUS amount of salt#and sometimes! even with two different meds and like four different kinds of salt pills! I straight up do not retain salt!#I get super dehydrated and cannot fix it for days!#and I am more tired of it than I perhaps realized#just real tired of doctors going 'your body is just so efficient at processing :) :) :)'#I am already doing all the low blood sugar things. smaller more frequent meals lots of protein lots of complex carbs#not looking for advice just wanted to share the 'somehow...your hemoglobin has gone up'#because I do genuinely find that really funny

prior to this, i actually never ate much meat - my go to for protein was nuts, hummus, peanut butter, and the occasional chicken or lamb curry dish. legit i just didnt eat or cook meat. so this sudden high protein diet to make up for the lack of carbs calories is probably making my stomach confused. i eat two sausages for breakfast now. its insane. pls let me eat gluten again soon ;_;
#jrnlsht#my stomach does protest the most over things that have sugar or carbs tho#thank goodness it seems to handle rice ok#i might gain weight back on rice alone#i have started making one cup of rice and can manage to eat the whole thing in one meal sitting which is great#anyway pls excuse my messy hair and face sorry#also lol i did not eat that salmon all at once dont worry this is three meals worth#i am learning that i eat more than most people my weight#the doctors tell me to try and get 1300 calories a day on the meal plan they gave me#im like bud look 1300 was how i lost fifteen pounds#i need at least 1500 to 1700 and preferably 2000 to gain some back#my skinny genetics will probably not last forever but yeah my moms tall slender ballerina side of the family definitely contributes to this

I am once again pissed at diet culture. I just watched three tiktoks in a row. how to cook dairyfree. How to meal prep without carbs. How to make healthy snacks without sugar. I keep getting (and stupidly clicking on) those articles that are like "ten things you shouldn't eat if you want to lose weight" and "why xy foods are bad for you" and wouldn't you know it last week i got recommendated articles that said those specific foods were super healthy and great for weight loss and now i should "never eat" them?? Is there any food we're still allowed to eat without being made to feel guilty?

Alright motherfuckers I finished inFAMOUS 2 (blue karma)
I have many thoughts, and I won't be doing a red run anytime soon (I need to get back to working more, and look I'll be real; I'm installing Festival of Blood and that's going to obliterate me and THEN I need to quit) - I'm going to be watching a full evil karma playthrough on yt and at some point I'll write up some more coherent thoughts but for now:
Game fucking good, however, I really wish it took some of the themes further cause it had some REALLY GOOD SHIT going on and didn't take it quite as far as I'd love for it to go. It's left me with my brain still on fire, and I mostly just wish there was more time spend with these characters. They were fun. I liked them a lot.
