Make sure im in my quarters. That way i can grab marsh (my marshafow plush with a custom scarf), quickly refill my bag, and leave

Get marsh out of my bag so i can hold them close to me as i leave

Know where the escape pods are. If I know where they are then i can make an easy escape

Dont drop marsh. If marsh is ever dropped then i will NEED to go back and find them

Marsh is priority #1. I will NOT leave without marsh they are that important to me

If an affini does find me, try to flee as fast as possible. Violence sucks, same with lying so the most violence i will try is kicking them off of me if one of them grabs me

So hear me out! I’ve seen only a few omori aus out there, Omari being the most prominent one, from which I’ve seen several variations that I love; as well as others that play a lot with the story, roles of the characters and personalities like Omariposa by mad

One of the things I really like about these type of AUs is how they play with the roles each character take.

Before I jump to the explanation, this is the only time I’m putting this out:

This is an Omori AU, so of course they’ll be major Omori spoilers!!!

If you like my content but don’t want to be jumpscared by omori spoilers, please block the #omori spoilers now ;3 I’ll make sure to include that # in all of the posts I make about this au; this is the only time I’ll put this warning and hide the content after a “show more”. You’ve been warned.

Taking from where I was, one of the thing I really like is how some of the roles of the characters look around: who’s the rebel who dyes their hair? Who’s the best friend/witness? Who’s the “killer”? Who dies?

And thinking on this, I began to wonder “wait… is there any aus out there where Kel is the rebel..?” And it got me thinking: you could basically pair all the characters by their roles and bonds and just swap it…

Apologies if this au has actually been done before; but I’m still gonna show my take on it uwu

So what’s this AU about?

I like to pair (not romantically) the main characters in this way:

Sunny - Basil

Kel - Aubrey

Mari - Hero

This, based on their roles and bonds: Sunny and Basil are best friends and accomplices; Mari and Hero are a couple; Aubrey and Kel are the ones who have the most beef with each other (come on, these two are bffs).

So for this AU, we’re literally swapping their roles, including their ways to cope.

Whoa whoa whoa slow down! When you say swapping roles… do you mean?

Yes, Mari stays alive, Hero isn’t. And the way each character cope also flips: Mari is the one who got depressed and then focused on studies, dropping her dreams on the way; Aubrey is the positive one who managed to move on; Kel got angry at the world; Sunny and Basil… well, you’ll see. Of course, there are things about the story that’ll change for this.

As for their personality traits? Those kind of remain quite similar to the original ones. That’s the interesting part, for example: Aubrey won’t just become a feminine Kel, yes, she will be positive, and yeah, she got more into baseball to cope, but this will still be Aubrey, so her peppiness is gonna be more prominent that, let’s say, Kel’s hyperactivity in the original series.

A good example of this is right there on Kel’s hands: this Kel is more of a revel, but it’s still our old goof and hyperactive Kel; the difference is that, instead of sports, he gets more into mischief as a kid.

HOW SKIBIDI TOILET IS CONNECTED TO OMORI (serious post)

As of today, December 18th, 2024, Skibidi Toilet has been added to the Fortnite item shop. Why should you care about that? I don't know but IM GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW I BELIEVE SKIBIDI TOILET IS CANON TO OMORI INSTEAD OF STUDYING FOR MY FINALS

Fortnite, the main connection link between Skibidi Toilet and Omori. Fortnite has done lots of collaborations, but sadly, no direct omori collabs yet. (OMOCAT AND EPIC PLEASE WE NEED SUNNY CRANKING 90s WITH HATSUNE MIKU, GOKU, AND GODZILLA WHILE WEARING THE SKIBIDI TOILET BACK BLING AND JAYS) Ahem, anyways, how does skibidi toilet connect if omori isn't even REMOTELY close to being in Fortnite? Well...

First, we have skibidi toilet, first added to the Fortnite item shop on December 18th, 2024 in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1. It is one of the MANY collaborations Fortnite has done. The Fortnite lore extends far beyond my brain can comprehend, but what I do know, is that any and all collaborations are canon to the Fortnite lore. This secures the validity of being canon in at least the Fortnite universe.

Another franchise that has collaborated with Fortnite is Capcom's Streetfighter.

First released on February 21st, 2021, in Chapter 2 Season 5, the collaboration canonized the characters Ryu and Chun-Li from Streetfighter in the Fortnite lore. For our purposes, only Ryu is crucial.

Ryu is a character that has been in many other collaborations before. However, only one of those is important here: Streetfighter's addition to the Super Smash Bros franchise.

Super Smash Bros is another franchise that has done many collaborations in the past, though not nearly as much as Fortnite has.

Ryu was first added to Super Smash Bros 4, also known as the 3DS and Wii U versions, as a DLC fighter, and is also in the base Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. Ryu being in both Fortnite and Super Smash Bros ties the two's canons together, and any characters in both games.

In Super Smash Bros 4 and Ultimate, and in all previous Smash Bros games, Pokemon has been available as fighters and are key characters in the Smash Bros lore.

In Smash 4, the Pokemon Mewtwo, Lucario, Pikachu, Charizard and Jigglypuff are available as fighters, with even more in Smash Ultimate.

Omocat the company has not only worked directly with Pokemon to make exclusive Pokemon Center merchandise on multiple occasions, but Omocat herself has been a fan of Pokemon, and it has reflected in Omori.

In the first Pokemon games, Red, Green, and Blue, the player starts in a small house with a TV on the first floor. If you interact with the TV, it describes a movie. "There is a movie on TV. Four boys are walking on railroad tracks."

In Headspace in Omori, if you interact with the TV in Neighbor's Room, it says the exact same description.

Not only is this a cute reference by Omocat, but it also has canon validity to be there in the game. Dreams, or more specifically for our case, Headspace, often take aspects from Sunny's life. For example, some characters in Headspace are parallels to their real world people, like Berly and Kim, or Van and Vance.

In the Faraway photo album, on Basils birthday, one of the pictures is Sunny playing on a Gameboy.

Originally I had thought this was a Gameboy Color, but it could be either one due to the simplicity of the drawing. Either one works, since the Gameboy Color is compatible with the original Pokemon games anyway. While it's not confirmed which game he's playing, signs do point to a gen one Pokemon game because of the movie in Neighbor's Room and Omocat's connections to Pokemon.

Omori has connection to Pokemon, which has a connection to Super Smash Bros, which has a connection to Streetfighter, which has a connection to Fortnite, and finally, Fortnite has a connection to Skibidi Toilet, therefore making Skibidi Toilet canon to Omori.

Pokemon story/art/ask-blog for Benta the Mewtwo

Set in an apocalyptic future where most humans have disappeared and only pokemon remain. And the world is not as it had once been.

Benta, a pokemon who has existed for a long time now, has wandered the crumbling cities and empty roads looking for others who might share his ideals of rebuilding what is left of the world. Perhaps even track down the humans, if there are any left. However, the pokemon all seem to be at odds, more focused on hoarding land and food for survival. Many more are feral and vicious.

As others may find out, he is no ordinary mewtwo, and he might very well be the only one of his kind in a world full of ghosts. But is he the only wanderer? Or are there others?

And is it possible to save this future?

When the Merge caused the Realms to collide, Earth was caught in the crossfire, and everyone ended up scattered across the Merged Realms. While trying to find their lost family and friends, the Hamatos settle in the Crossroads and meet a couple young faces. ]

Some Assembly Required [ A rewrite AU. In which the bite from the Devourer didn’t turn Garmadon evil, instead just making him sick. This creates a domino effect leading to different situations for everyone, the most significant change being the main cast are raised not really knowing what elemental powers mean. Also has a lot of original lore surrounding the dragons and how Ninjago was made. ]

Web of Destiny [ A Spiderman AU, in which the Ninja are a group of spider-themed heroes and their villains appear in a much more cartoonish manner. The Dragon’s Rising cast also features. ]

The Dragon’s Samurai [ A Pixal-focused Crystalized ending rewrite AU, in which the Golden Powers went haywire somewhere in translation, and now Pixal has to hunt down her now-Dragon-and-Oni friends and talk some sense into them. ]

Abnormal Reaction [ A Bizarro AU, in which the Bizarros don’t die after getting defeated and instead regroup elsewhere, officially defecting once the Overlord gets involved and choosing to go about their own lives. ]

A Different Vision of the Future [ A Genshin AU, where the Ninja are from all over the world of Teyvat. More art than solid story, and I’m changing a few parts of the Genshin character design that annoy me. (Which, honestly, is most things.) ]

Ready Your Triforce, It’s About To Have More Sides [ A Breath of the Wild crossover AU, in which time shenanigans cause the Ninja to land in different points of the Hyrule timeline, letting them interact with different friends there. Mostly Cole, Lloyd, and Link focused. ]

staring up at the sky (and hoping to see your face) [ A very Lloyd-focused self indulgent self discovery AU, involving the personification of concepts and what it would mean to leave everything behind to evolve into something new. ]

Ninjas & Normies [ A powers-less AU in which they’re all regular college students who enjoy playing D&D. Everyone gets a chance to run a campaign, and every campaign is based off of a plot point or season from the show. ]

Departed and Service [ An AU based on Five Nights at Freddy’s, not actually a FNAF AU. Morro gets hired at a party place themed around a popular children’s show, and starts to realize these animatronics are a bit more lively than they’re meant to be. Features the Dragon’s Rising cast and a lot of side characters. ]

SPINJITZOON! [ A Splatoon AU in which they’re all Inklings and Octolings, and Ronin is essentially Grizz. The Dragon’s Rising cast features, more art than full story. ]

Pokemon Spin and Pokemon Whip [ A Pokemon AU with two parts. The first being Kai, Nya, and Lloyd focused as the trio goes on their Pokemon adventure, and the second being Arin, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Euphrasia focused as they all try to battle their way through the gyms. ]

Adventures of the Dragon [ A D&D AU that’s more art than full story, as everyone gets to live in a D&D style fantasy world. ]

Shapes and Colors [ A powers-less Minecraft/social media AU, in which the main Ninja are a group of friends playing on a Minecraft server together. Some of them are streamers/Youtubers who record their time on the server, putting it out for their fans to watch, and some of them do lore while others don’t have any idea what’s happening in their friends’ stories. Features the other Elemental Masters and Dragon’s Rising characters. ]

Lights, Camera, Action! [ An actor AU, in which Ninjago is just a show put on their world that the characters act for. Takes a look behind the scenes into their off screen personalities, just a fun character exploration. ]

Song of the Sirens [ A mermaid AU, in which some of them are sea creatures and some of them are sailors. Very vaguely Little Mermaid inspired. ]

Mobs of a Feather Flock Together [ A Minecraft AU, where the Ninjago characters get to live in a Minecraft-inspired world and are all different hybrids inspired by the fanon interpretations of hybrid traits. Features side characters and Dragon’s Rising characters. ]

Ninjagoing Going Gone [ A Scooby Doo-esque mystery AU, a sort of blend between movieverse and showverse. With Arin, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Euphrasia as the main characters, they’re searching for the heroes they used to hear about as kids before they completely disappeared. They manage to track down Lloyd, and convince him to help them, even though he’s not entirely sure he can. ]

These Problems Are Multi-Faceted [ A gem AU, but not following the plot of Steven Universe. Instead, after Golden Diamond’s rebellion and escape to one of his planets, a shaky truce is established and the fighting between his new world and Homeworld ceases. However, that doesn’t stop Homeworld from sending a small crew consisting of an Emerald, a Bismuth, and a Lapis Lazuli to the planet to try and bring him back. ]

Elements of Harmony [ A music based AU, where the Elemental Masters get their powers through playing specific instruments. They try to keep this secret, but it’s pretty hard with how entwined music is in their lives. ]

Couple of Cards [ An AU following the vibes of shows such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon, where the Dragon's Rising kids enjoy playing a mystical card game that turns out to go deeper than they originally thought. ]

Hey Guys Welcome To My Slime Tutorial [ A Slime Rancher AU, in which Lloyd and Pixal venture out to the Far Far Range, aiming to become successful slime ranchers. While coming across new faces, trying to tame uncooperative slimes, and uncovering the story of the man who owned the ranch before them, they realize that life is a lot different than they thought. ]

My Best Friend Is Dead [ A mainly Jay-focused AU, in which Cole disappeared years ago and finally shows back up as a ghost who doesn't remember his life before. Self indulgent to help cope with grief and what it means to move on. ]

Yoba's Doghouse [ A Stardew Valley AU, in which the main six decide to uproot their dead-end lives and move to Lloyd's grandfather's old farm, meeting many new faces and making new connections. They find what it really means to exist as they dig around in the dirt. ]

Should've Hired Better Ghostbusters [ A Phasmophobia type AU, in which the gang are ghost hunters trying to make enough money to pay their rent. They manage to scrape by, everything always fairly normal, until a hunt that goes completely wrong in every way possible. ]

Virtues of Harmony [ A My Little Pony AU, in which Firefly (Lloyd) is sent to learn more about his fellow ponies, making new friends and finding old ones in the process. ]

Got The Power [ A movie/show crossover AU, in which the show gang gets dropped into the movieverse. The Merge has been chaotic, with Beatrix and Ras, then the Wolf Masks and the Forbidden Five and Thunderfang, but waking up in a city that popped up seemingly overnight? A city that doesn't have any idea what the Merge is? This new adventure is promising to be the most confusing yet. ]

I gotta wonder how old Brendan is, like, based on your headcanon wise? Forgive me. It's dumb to ask. (If that's the case, I tend to do the same with another Pokemon ship.) I've actually already answered this here. I like to hc him as an older teen. I try to reflect that in my art, but I tend to draw Brendan really cute, which probably makes him look younger to most people.

This should go without saying, but I am very much against adults trying to date 16 year olds in real life. However, in fiction, it's fair game. If fictional age gaps involving a teenager make you uncomfortable, that's valid. You're welcome to ignore my headcanons or unfollow/block me.

I just think it's an interesting dynamic to explore in fiction. And I'm actually feeling a bit chatty rn, so for anyone who's interested, I'm gonna expand a little bit on why I find this dynamic interesting under the cut.

For starters, I was a teenager once, and I definitely fantasized about how cool it would be to date someone older. Surely I wasn't the only teenager with fantasies like that, right? Of course, even as a teenager, I knew not to try to make that fantasy a reality.

I was a pretty smart and mature kid, but maybe a little too much. I matured way faster than I probably should have, and as a result, I was always very careful and never took any risks or did any of the stupid things that people usually associate with teens. I was safe (aka boring). I think sometimes I feel like I missed out on the true teenage experience by being too safe. And while that's probably for the best, it's nice to be able to still explore those scenarios through fiction by putting Brendan (or any other fictional character) in Situations.

The other main reason I like making Brendan a teen and sticking him in a relationship with an older man is because it kinda just makes sense given the setting of the source material. In the Pokemon world, it's perfectly normal for kids and teens to leave home and go on potentially dangerous adventures across the region. They can also become gym leaders and champions. I think it makes sense to imagine that kids in the Pokemon world are treated with a lot more respect and agency than in our reality. So it makes sense that the general population in the Pokemon world wouldn't really see any issues with young trainers getting into relationships with older ones. If these young trainers can command a team of up to six incredibly powerful magical creatures in battle, then why would it be weird for them to make out with an older cooltrainer behind the pokemart?

Whether or not this is a good or a bad thing is debatable. My point is that it's interesting to think about what the societal norms surrounding relationships with age gaps would look like in this setting. Also, I think it's funny to imagine Brendan's mom internally cheering "FUCK YEAH!" when she finds out that Brendan is dating the richest man in Hoenn instead of some loser collector or hex maniac that he found on a random route.

Ngl I don't know how to feel about winds of anthos. I have so many thoughts about the game after finishing the main story line (dont have the kid yet but it's incubating).

I've seen a lot of praise for the game and I get it, I really liked the game in the beginning too, could hardly put it down, but after finishing the main story it's kinda lacking (which makes sense, I mean I finished the game, it's gonna be out of content at some point). But after a few days of reflection on the game I've decided it's just not that great? Am I missing something?

Like, I get it, I like the open world exploration, I felt so claustrophobic in pioneers of olive town and even the wonderful life remake, but once you've seen it all that's it, the land is barren too which makes it feels so boring and it's not interesting to look at either. One thing that pissed me off a lot was the fucking mountains that are so hard to navigate, but I think that's really just a me problem.

Then there are the characters and honestly o can't even tell them apart at this point, they are all (most of them) default nice with no personality, especially the bachelorettes, I always feel like fictional women lack personality in general. The only character (apart from doc) who stood out was Nickolai and only because he's autistic (blunt and not very nice). And don't get me started on the design, Arnold with the "one two buckle my shoe" and Ella looking like a pokemon trainer when she's supposed to be an artist from a swiss inspired town from what I can tell. She just doesn't look like she belongs in the town and I don't know if it's further explain through her flower events but she doesn't seem to hate living here or hate the town so I don't understand why she has to stand out so much.

Speaking of flower events, those were boring as well. I can hardly remember what even happened in them, all I remember was being a little disappointed when I realized all the 6 music notes events (the one after you start dating) are all the same, you go to a secluded location, look over the town and chat. That's it, for all of the 3 guys I started dating (again, I don't know if it's different with the other marriage candidates but I doubt it).

I felt like the pace was off too, I don't know when you're supposed to finish the main story line, I finished in winter of the first year I think, it was very early on and I only played for 30ish hours and finished the game. I found the tasks so tedious I wanted to get them over with asap, I was so done with the characters being like "thanks for getting us this ore, now onto your next mission, get this other ore, kay, thanks, byeee" maybe because the main quest was under the request tab with all the other requests but it didn't feel special enough. I also hated having to sift through this long list of requests that never seemed to get shorter since every morning, there would be mail of some villager needing something. It was just so annoying, I just wanted to clear my requests once and start anew but the game really didnt want me to I guess.

As I was saying earlier, I finished the game in winter of year one (or spring year two I don't remember). Great, now what? I'm still not married because I couldn't advance my relationship with Westley until I fixed the harvest goddess spring, so I worked on that (and Nickolai and Arnold). I saw what I needed for the house upgrade and did that, yay bigger house. Checked the guide (God bless FOGU) to see why I didn't have a double bed/two beds and I need another upgrade??? That's 250,000 gold not counting the pain of getting high quality lumber boards and square, having to resort to buying them with added another (approximately) 60,000. I grinded by fishing and finally got married in summer. I have to wait a season to realize I'm pregnant. I have to wait another season to give birth. Then, another season for the bitch to crawl and then, a season later, it's able to walk and even talk. Right now, I have to wait for another year for the baby to start being useful to me (by which I mean it can talk and explore the farm). I'm already bored by having to maintain the farm, I wake up and water the cows or whatever, I usually go to bed at 8 or 9 am because I wanna get this over with at this point.

(I just realized you can't use your camera indoors, how will I take cute baby pics of the fucker? I wanted my whole camera roll full of blurry baby pics.)

Am I playing the game wrong? Why am I not enjoying the game the way others seem to enjoy it? It's tedious for me now, maybe I just need a break from farming.

I feel like you need to be a very specific person to fully enjoy this game, and it ain't me. I miss animal parade.

Imagine RSA trying to start shit with Croagunk around, with the NRC students actually trying to stop them as the other RSA students are wondering why. Then Croagunk comes and just, Poison Jabs the guy. Then everyone learns about the face and main force of the Disinpunary Squad, Croagunk. Aka the guy who one day arrived, never left, and is mortal enemies with Swanna. No one is forcing them to do so. Hell no one expected them to do so. They just do it and nothing anyone says can stop them.

Also imagine if like, one day Croagunk asked Malleus for a spar to their battle skills shap, and Malleus(with Sebeck screaming in the background), whilst confused, agrees. Everyone goes to watch, and they all expect Croagunk to get destroyed. Then when Malleus unleashes a spell Croagunk pulls a similar stunt to what Brock's Croagunk did with Dialga's Draco Meteor, only with less effort because there is a difference between actual god and a highly powerful mage. Needless to say Croagunk kept up in the spar. Cater recorded the whole thing and posted it on MagiCam, ensuring that everyone knew this is a spar to avoid being accused of filming "animal abuse". I blame you reminding me of the Draco Meteor moment for this.

That's one of my favorite moments from that movie tbh 🤣cause of how casually Croagunk just destroys that Draco Meteor and no one seems to bat an eye at it- Brock was just like "Nice job!" while Happiny was just cheering them on alkdsfjas

RSA students trying to cause chaos and NRC trying to stop them- oh how the tables have turned. Either that or they're really scared of Croagunk, which the latter is highly likely 🤣🤣

Royal Sword Academy students are causing some type of thing probably during the days when NRC opens its doors to the public, and that's just a big no-no to Croagunk.

Oh no, just imagine seeing what'll happen during the Magicam Monster Event aldfjaljkk ☠️☠️☠️ I don't think anyone's gonna stop Croagunk then. Swanna's equally pissed off at the Magicam Monsters and they grudgingly work together at this whole situation.

Swanna gets people from the sky by diving downwards while Croagunk does its best on land.

People expect NRC to control such a Pokemon, but the thing is, Croagunk's fast at executing its Moves than they can keep up with unless someone's trained for combat, which is rare in the school.

NRC did not see Croagunk coming from anywhere because Croagunk just came out one day and never left. Soni doesn't discourage Croagunk from leaving and feeds the Pokemon its fill of Berries. People ask her to tell it to leave, but Soni honestly doesn't see what's wrong with its behavior since it helps her deal with these students who cause nothing but trouble alkdsfj

I can see Croagunk and the more powerful Pokemon in Soni roster doing the same with Malleus. Malleus is happy that someone's coming up to fight with him.

Sure, they spar with one another to make sure their skills aren't slacking in TWST, but in a different world, the greatest change is the Magicians that have similar magic to Pokemon Moves, and who else better to spar with than one of the Top 5 Magicians in the world? They've dealt with more difficult opponents, so why can't they try out their skills?

Everyone's terrified and curious about how that would turn out, and they get their minds blown by how well the frog Pokemon keeps up with the fighting.

Cue the Draco Meteor Move-seque scene and everyone loses their minds 🤣🤣🤣

i find it very shocking that pokaymon fans are like 'if only devs had more time to fix the graphics and glitches the game would be one of the best' and that the game isnt busted to its core...(granted this would be solved by having more time)

sorry i have to elaborate or ill die bc i have quite a few qualms with it (long)

one looking at its selling point is that its open world + that you go to school thats why u have to wear that stupid outfit the whole time. The open world is..so bare there are no unique spawns like arceus and like 4 cool spots in the WHOLE MAP. its so easy to get lost bc its big just to gloat that its big, theres No landmarks and the map is very unhelpful orienting urself...also ur bike moves so slow and it Cannot move faster bc the game almost dies when ur boosting as is (and half of the time ive seen the climbing Does Not Work bc the mountain areas are terrible) not to mention in area 0 they take ur map and let u loose in this open world and its so hard to find anything..esp if u want the paradox pokemon u search for hours only to find out they have semi unique spawning points. also the legendaries are the coolest ive seen i will admit but theyre sooooo detached from the story which could be cool if the school wasnt so ass to be in b cthats where u learn about them. oh btw theres really only two things u can find on the whole ass map and its gimmighoul coins(bc u need 999 of them for a pokemon bc ofc u do) and random items/tms so if u dont want either of those things exploring just..wont be on ur radar its also impossible to know if ur getting a potion or a rare candy only tms are marked yellow which isnt Really a problem i actually like it but there are still like no rewards for exploring.

also the items u find almost render stores useless AND trainers are pretty hard to find u could consider them ur reward for exploring but again. the game puts little effort into making ur want to fight them bc all u get is an item for doing it in each area and u can just grind with the visible spawns that way And since theres no rubberbanding its like..what point is there once u beat the game to get all trainers in a lvl 20 area unless ur training up pokemon (but in that case ur probs just doing tera raids to get the rare items)

another qualm is that u go into like. 4 buildings the whole game. and the building insides are the best looking thing in the game besides the school main foyer..ugh. the town design to me felt very hollow bc its like..bc the gyms all look the same and are business-y a big part of the town lost its personality. also its very noticible that theyre trying to bounce off how cool the galar gym fighting was with the song and having a crown but it um Really ended up being pathetic its like the base part of pokemon games was an afterthought(actually it felt really obvious that everything in this game was super split up so instead of focusing on a coherent pokemon game it was section off into bits that strained the team) i have a lot of issues with how ur friends only exist within their storyline until the post game..there is no way to talk to arven unless u do one of his story quests. i think running into nemona just on the roads would have been fun or anyone that you can catch up with really! that or just have them at the school when ur back..

THE SCHOOL. GOOD LORD. the song that plays when ur in the town and school sucks so bad i cannot imagine listening to it longer than like 5 mins. now functionally i do think the idea of the classes having helpful tips for pokemon would be kinda cute esp for newbies but um. ok if a game is like omg u went to school and now u get to get WHEREVER U WANT freeroam are you gonna remember to come back to the school whenever u beat a gym(specifically i think gyms unlock more classes) are you. are you really. i think the only push to go back is one of the teachers being like 'try my class ^_^' yes i am completely convinced. the school itself is like. pathetically trying to be persona and giving u motivation to come back by having stuff locked by classes or telling ppl about ur adventures so u cant speedrun it(unless u decided to do school stuff last) literally could be so easily fixed by having to report back to someone In the quest to the school forcing u back so ppl r like well since im here ill take an art class. also dont lie about the classes if u say its a math class name it..something that its actually about (technically Math but its in relation to how pokemon deal damage)

also a lot of the gym leaders are um. boring. it doesnt help they lost a gym to customize and only get a challenge thats like a few mins of ur time. their designs are ok but only like rhyme, grusha, larry i can remember the names of LOL. i think rhyme, larry and maybe the art guy are the most compelling bc they have like. interactions with other characters. the elite 4 is pretty cool but i dont..really like that they had a kid. objectively its a little funny but im like oh god ppl are gonna be weird about that. um was extremely disappointing fighting them in a plain ass room. and u just fight geeta on the roof. ok at least xy had STAINED GLASS BITCHIN ROOMS. interview was fantastic tho. part of the questions were stupid bc it was grading u on something objective.

i do like the idea of getting to know the ppl around the school and encouraging the nurse to get a teaching degree again was cute..but it has little impact when half of the conversation is blacked out bc they dont want to show u explaining ur journey to here bfhdskjbkf. like no choice in the game matters is it that hard to have a couple of prompts of what to tell her. honestly i also think for classes itd be cooler if they happened randomly and you had a prompt to auto join them ie 'an art class is starting would you like to fly back to school?(Y)' also a good reason why a lot of the school stuff falls flat is everything in this game is in neat little categories that have no relation to each other its like im eating dinner and i dont want my peas to touch my mac n cheese. i dont mind that ur set up to fail some quest lines w not knowing where to go bc u Can ask for advice on where to go but also most of the playbase probably took advantage of do whatever u want but ALSO the progression makes no sense bc it wants you to go back and forth throughout the entire map...i do think pausing the gym fights to do team star and then do more gyms then do arvens stuff would have flowed a bit better..sometimes letting the player decide what to do is bad.

team star is probably my fav storyline bc it involves something other than ppl being focused on u so it stands out a lot also i do think it was cute for them all to have banded together from bullying. that being said the running around and throwing ur pokemon out to fight was . stupid as hell. just make it a gauntlet, maybe some double battles. that way the camps didnt have to be so ugly and Open. they have the best music tho

tera raids are objectively the most thought out and best looking but they need help for 5 or 6 star unless ur really good and its..so hard to do them online bc everything fills up so fast ive heard the game also gives u little indication of whether ur running towards a 3 star or a 5 unlike swsh. the more real timeish battle does uh. make ppl think the game is crashing bc some actions are forced/scripted but dont tell u so ur game is just frozen for x amount of time..

a more petty thing but the clothes suck ass and theres no little fun customize thing like the trading cards from swsh..u can just change the photo on ur trainer card...ok anyways this is already too long <3

wait i need to say i dont mind arven now but i think him suddenly losing his backbone when his ai parent said his parent actually loved him and being like omg woah really was. boring and stupid. he should have told them that he didnt believe them THEN after been like 'i am not sure if that ai was only telling me what i wanted to hear or if it was actually what (parent) believed but there is no way for me to know i can only move on and focus on whats really important. Now you've been asked what you do like about him what about the opposite what don't you like about goh?

Aw man, this is gonna hurt.

TL;DR - Goh’s a completely lovable character, but I have three particular issues with him that I feel could become worse if not taken care of properly.

First off, DISCLAIMERS!! To all my fellow Goh fans, please know that writing this, I do not mean any hatred to Goh in anyway. I LOVE Goh, and if you’ve seen literally ANY of my past anipoke posts, you would already know that. These are just issues I find with his character that I want to be changed for the best.

Now with that outta the way, here’s what I don’t like about Goh:

1. His iffy character development. While he’s doing fine in becoming more open to people and more willing to help Pokemon, his fighting skills are what I have trouble with it. Let’s go back to his first ever official battle.

It was at Hoenn’s Frontier Cup where he used Scorbunny and Scyther against a trainer’s Mightyena. Despite having a type advantage with Scyther, he lost horribly, which is completely understandable. He’s a beginner and doesn’t possess the same kind of street smarts and experience Ash and many other trainers have. Alright then, so maybe this will lead to a change in character of wanting to become better in battles by getting some training with Ash, who made quick work of that Mightyena trainer. Surely we’ll get some development over this topic after this episode!

He beats Saffron City’s Karate Master and scores a free Hitmonchan.

...Okaaaay, I mean, we’ve never seen the Karate Master in battle before, so perhaps it was just another fodder trainer the anime is filled of. I sure we’ll get some more Goh development after thi-

He easily defeats and captures a powerful Flygon.

.....Alright, alright, it was only a wild Pokemon. Everyone can beat those, right? Heck, in the next episode, he technically suffers a curbstomp loss against Kiawe and admits he only battles Ash every so often. Perhaps this loss will encourage Goh to train more with Ash so he could become a stronger trainer. I mean, despite his good luck with Pokeballs, he’s gonna need to be as strong as he can be for tougher mons, like Legendaries. I’m 100% sure we’ll get something out of thi-

He takes down a wild Zapdos and NEARLY captures it.

.........Uh, okie dokes, it wasn’t a successful capture, and who knows? Even though we have not seen him battle/train that much on-screen, maybe he just got a little lucky. Even in the games, it happens to the best of us. Perhaps this barely missed victory will finally give Goh the time to actually development more on-screen so that he could have a better chance agai-

He defeats Oleana’s Milotic, using his fire-type Raboot who only wanted to use a weak fire-type move.

..............Allllriiiiight, maybe Oleana just got a little cocky later on. Plus, Raboot finished Milotic by evolving in Cinderace and finishing it off with Pyro Ball. With this powerful evolution in hand, maybe Goh will finally realize that, in order for Cinderace to reach its greatest potential, he must start training for once and obtain some proper development for a chance against stronger threa-

Cinderace fights decently well against Mewtwo, even lasting longer than Pikachu and being on-par with the more trained Lucario.

....................At this point, I’m all out of excuses for him. Overall, Goh’s development as a trainer is very rushed to the point seeing him achieve numerous victories despite all odds being against his favor to be iffy.

2. Slightly touchy topic, but there are some negatives with his whole catching all Pokemon goal. So Goh wants to catch every single mon he can in order to reach up to Mew, as he said to Mewtwo in episode 46. And yes, this includes Legendaries as well. Unfortunately, this is where my issues with his goal starts. First off, where in the world will Goh keep any Legendary he encounters? Cerise’s glorified garden dome? Yeah, keep Dialga and Palkia, literal beings of space and time, inside a glass dome with a bunch of weaker mons. And speaking of which, wouldn’t catching mons like the Creation Trio or the Island Guardians cause quite the upset in, well, y’know, the natural balance of things? Sure, Goh technically hasn’t caught a single Legendary yet (Eternatus doesn’t count because it had to be sealed away), with how the anime is playing out, issues like this will surely rise throughout the series.

And yes, the anime is playing it out for Goh to indeed catch every single mon before reaching Mew. If you pay attention to the openings as well as many of Goh’s own character moments, such as episode 46, then you can easily see the signs telling us that Goh is bound to catch them all, just as Ash is bound on defeating Leon. In the past, pretty much all of Ash’s traveling companions had their own goals as well, but it’s usually because of those goals is why they leave Ash by the end of their journeys, like May and Dawn pursuing contests in other regions, Brock wanting to become a doctor, Iris wanting to find more Dragon types, Kiawe wanting to become an Island Kahuna etc. Because of that, it becomes up to the audience’s interpretation (and fanfics) on how they achieve their dreams and what challenges they could face throughout the way. With Goh, there will a lot more focus and emphasis placed on his goal, and while this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s too bad there aren’t really any stakes or obstacles in Goh’s journey!

Really now, another glaring issue with Goh’s goal is that he has NO trouble going through with it at all. From his very first fodder capture, all he has to do is get a good throw and then PING! Pokemon caught. Guess the thing of having to weaken a Pokemon first before capturing it has been retconned out of the anime forever. With that said, there’s absolutely no struggle for Goh to overcome in his journey, which kinda makes things boring. Where’s the challenge? Where are his rivals? Are there any doubts? Does he have any issue of having to catch and connect every single mon in existence? No, well then good for him I guess! Sad thing too is that he catches so many Pokemon with so much potential, but they then disappear completely after their debut.

Remember that free Hitmonchan he scored from Saffron’s Fighting Dojo who seemed completely willing to train with Riolu and Farfetch’d? Never seen again. That female Raichu who loves giving berries? Completely forgotten about. That Aerodactyl Goh resurrected and bonded with before catching? Thanos snapped. The Heracross Goh obtained from a trade at the cost of a second Pinsir he worked hard to find? Literally who?

3. And my biggest issue with Goh. The fact he’s somehow on the same scale as Ash.

Don’t believe me? Well, let’s go back to the ending of episode 46. After Mewtwo teleported him, Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, and Cinderace back home, Goh said this: “We’ve still got a long way to go.”

Excuse me, but WHAT?!?!?!

You BOTH got a long way to go, even though you both suffered a complete curbstomp from a mon that would probably even make the likes of Lance, Cynthia, and Leon comparable to Youngster Joey?!?! What the Distortion World?!?! Why is Goh and, by extension, the writers implying he and Ash are on even terms when it comes to being a trainer? Goh, as a reminder, you literally only began your trainer career 45 episodes ago!!

Alright, let’s talk about Ash for a second and what he’s been through since he started his trainer career. Ash started in Kanto, and while he really only fairly achieved three out of his eight badges (Brock and Misty’s were givens, Erika’s was a thank-you gift, Sabrina’s was all Haunter’s doing, and Jessie and James are complete jokes that no one should take seriously), he still partook in as many battles as he could against tough trainers while getting some pointers from the much more experienced Misty and Brock. After that, he went on to become a much more impressive trainer in later journeys. Instead of a full recap, I’ll just list two impressive things Ash has done in each region he’s journeyed through after losing in the Kanto League.

Orange Islands: Won his first official double battle with Pikachu and Charizard despite neither initially getting along at first and then defeated the Orange League champ, Drake.

Johto: Survived an entire forest of bloodthirsty Ursaring with his friends and defeated Gary’s Blastoise with his Charizard.

Hoenn: Helped stopped both Team Magma and Team Aqua’s elemental threats and reached Top 8 in the Hoenn League despite only two of his mons being fully evolved with one being a glass cannon bird.

Kanto again: Conquered the Battle Frontier and tied with May in his first ever contest.

Sinnoh: Helped protect a Riolu from the famed Hunter J and knocked out two of Tobias’ Legendary Pokemon.

Unova: Defeated Iris’ Dragonite twice (Charizard pretty much had the high ground in their fight) and helped protect Meloetta.

Kalos: Defeated four Mega Evolutions (Lucario, Abomasnow, Absol, and Sceptile) and was one of the main heroes against Lysandre.

Alola: Became an Ultra Guardian and conquered the Alola League.

And right now as of Journeys: Defeated Korinna’s Mienfoo and Mega Lucario with only Dragonite right after the two curbstomped Gengar and defeated Chairman Rose.

And this isn’t even scratching the surface, and yet, somehow, Ash is still on the same scale of Goh. This doesn’t make any logical sense, it completely negates Ash’s experience while over-wanking Goh’s, and it ruins any semblance of power scaling between the two. Logically, Ash should be leagues above Goh and the latter should always confide to Ash whenever he needs assistance or pointers, not “Oh, we both lost to a powerful legendary, guess that means we both have stuff to learn and we’re both beginners lul”. It’s like Deku and All Might both losing a villain that’s beyond both of their capabilities, and then Deku saying that they BOTH have much to learn afterwards! Does it make sense? HECK NO.

If they had to have Goh comment about their loss, why couldn’t he say something that would’ve made more sense? Maybe say something like “Wow, I can’t believe I lasted that long, honestly.” And then Ash would say, “Hey, you’re only getting better. And me and my team will always be there in case you need more training.” Have the two acknowledge the fact that even trainers like Leon wouldn’t fare any better than them against Mewtwo. Just absolutely anything that doesn’t completely ruin what we know of these characters to the point the two are considered equals, despite all the evidence saying otherwise.

I did it!! I cannot believe the month is already over ahahah When I first started this I had no idea how much I was going to have fun with this. Throughout this month I have gained so much, both in experience and in friends, and I cannot thank each an everyone of you for making this possible.

Tommy doesn't particularly mind Halloween.

It's a cool festivity, and it serves as a break among the school days which is always welcome. The amount of candy and chocolate surrounding the event is also a very good side of it - no matter what his family is planning, he's always sure he will find good things to snack on during the day.

He doesn't really enjoy the dressing up part of it: too much effort, a bit too much to do and too little rewards for it to be something he actually wants to put effort in.

This is why, when Wilbur organises a week-long meetup that has Halloween smack dab in the middle of it, he doesn't expect he's going to do much for it.

Wilbur's planning a big party for all of them, and they'll be probably filming or streaming some things - as for all the rest of the week.

Phil has insisted on having a pumpkin carving contest, and Fundy has insisted on having lots of candy.

Tommy is hyped for the party as much as he is hyped for the rest of the week there, but he already knows he's going to show up with no costume and say he's dressed up as his biggest hero, because he is cool like that.

Then, one afternoon a couple of weeks before he has to take the trip to London, as he's working on a video while on call with Tubbo, the subject of the masked party comes up.

"I heard that Fundy is working on a pokemon trainer costume, since he bought all those cards. And, oh!, Wilbur is revamping the L'manburg costume, he says he'll do a post-election version of it, all creepy and stuff. What do you think?"

Tommy blinks at the screen, for a moment not understanding what he means, and then shrugs. A moment later he remembers his camera isn't on.

"I-uh- I have no idea. I'm not a big fan of costumes."

There's the sound of Tubbo's cord clashing against them and their mic, and Tommy can just imagine his friend gesticulating wildly in silent protest at his comment.

"What?! Tommy we have to have matching costumes then!" Tubbo suggest excitedly, prompting Tommy's face to contort on itself in confusion.

"Wh- but why? What is the jump to there?! Wha- Where did that even come from?" Tommy asks as he takes his hands off the keyboard - he feels like he needs to focus on this discussion.

"Well, you don't have a costume, and you don't like dressing up for the sake of it. So if you're dressing up to match me, it'll be more fun!" He supposes that what Tubbo is saying makes a bit of sense. Just a tiny bit. And making a costume together does sound cool. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe.

"I doubt that. But alright, I guess. What did you have in mind?" Tommy asks nonchalantly, reclining back in his chair to stretch out his back a bit. He figures his friend has already something planned - as he always does - and a tiny part of him is hyped to see what it's going to be.

"Uh- nothing. Like, actually literally nothing!"

As he bursts out laughing, Tommy realizes that he has a long afternoon ahead of him.

About a couple of days later, he's exiting his house by himself, geared with a fully charged phone, some cash and an extra charger. He has a bus trip ahead of him, and Tubbo jamming to some random song in his earplugs.

"Are you there yet?" Tubbo asks, as if they're the one stuck on an uncomfortable seat waiting for his stop, and Tommy glances around himself before he awkwardly answers:

"Nope, still got a couple stops to go."

"I am so hyped, Tommy, I am so hyped. The costumes are gonna be so great." Tommy chuckles to himself, rubbing at the bridge of his nose as he glances at the buildings ouside the window.

"That is, if I actually manage to find what I need."

When the two of them had finally decided what to wear at Wil's party, it had become evident that neither owned what they were going to need for the costume. Therefore, the earlier afternoon Tubbo had gone out to gather all the main necessities for his part - plus some extras they could share.

And now, at least in theory, he was going to guide Tommy through finding what he needed, as he'd admitted needing help to do so.

Now, all he hopes is that the clerk will let him film himself as he walks around the thrift shop - and later the costume shop -, so that Tubbo can pick out what he should buy.

He wasn't kidding when he said he has no idea how these things work.

Tommy doesn't particularly mind makeup.

He really doesn't like it on his face, thought, even if Tubbo insists that what he's putting on his face is not makeup.

Cosmetic fake blood is still makeup, for all that Tubbo tries to argue.

"It's got the world cosmetic in it, tho, doesn't it?" He tries, despite knowing he shouldn't.

Tubbo bristles, hand hovering near his face as they're in the process of holding up a scrunched up piece of paper with blood smeared on it, and they glares furiously at him.

"Alright, yes, yes, shutting up and staying still." Tubbo smiles for just a split second, then goes back to staring intently at his face as he dabs the blood smears on him.

Tommy is still glad that he'd found a cheap suit in the thrift shop, otherwise he would have felt extremely sad at staining that too just a moment before.

Back when they'd decided what to dress up as, Tommy had initially refused to wear anything on his face: he feels like it would have gotten all sticky and gross on his face, and the blood right now gives him the impression it's still going to happen despite his best hopes.

But Tubbo's idea is honestly so cool, he figures he can agree to some. Just a tiny bit.

Tubbo is by far the one who got the most of it anyway - Tommy studied him and tried to help out as they traced lines on their face and then shaded them carefully, creating a cracked porcelain effect on a base of full faced white that has got to feel so gross.

It is also quite impressive how he got his black suit to look disheveled and slightly torn up while not damaging it too much.

Seemingly satisfied with his job, Tubbo leans back to check everything one more time before nodding firmly.

"All done! You're sure you still don't want a bit of red? Like, as if you were wearing a mask, but it's your skin?" Tubbo asks, already reaching for the same colour palette he used for his own face about half an hour ago.

Tommy's whole body sags as he pouts in what he hopes is a convincing sad expression.

"But it'll feel so gross and it will bother me! Doesn't it itch?" Tommy whines and Tubbo huffs out, both amused and exasperated.

"It really does not! And it's not all your face! Most importantly you will look like a badass!"

Tommy gives another wordless whine, then an exasperated drawn out sigh.

About ten minutes later, Tubbo declares their preparations finally over with a clap of their hands. And since both of them are extremely well prepared for all of this, they're only five minutes late.

As they leave their room in a hurry, Tommy shoots one last glance at the mirror.

Tubbo, a falling angel: dark torn up suit, a broken wing, porcelain cracks on his face and a darkened halo; and Tommy, a demon with a nice side: pure white suit and a pastel coloured tie, with golden devil horns and blood smeared on one side of his mouth and the top of his otherwise pristine suit. The slightly darker shade of red around his eyes does make him look badass.

They're going to get some rocking pictures that night.

Today’s Digimon Adventure: 2020 episode is entitled, “Time To Bring Back Visual Kei Bands,” because that’s pretty much where WereGarurumon belongs. I know what you’re thinking, he’s a wolf man in jeans with a kind of grungy rock n roll cowboy theme, how is that visual kei?

My friend, it’s all about the NAILS.

Those perfectly manicured, PINK freaking nails.

Tto start I’ll say this episode lowers the tension significantly compared to previous ones. That’s to be expected, and doesn’t mean it’s boring. It does a lot - it lets us confirm some things about Yamato, and a couple things about Sora and Jou in relation to him as well. It is otherwise a carbon copy of episode 8 in terms of story arc. More below as usual

So this ep is Yamato/Sora/Jou main inside a Taichi/Koushirou/Mimi sandwich.

We are starting to see more of Mimi Herself, complaining and whining about the unfairness of it all. Taichi appears to have scaled this wall by himself and Mimi’s like “YOU HAVE TOO MUCH ENERGY, YOU’LL PUT THE ENERGIZER BUNNY OUT OF A JOB, DO YOU WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HOMELESS BUNNIES?? HE HAS TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY”

Adding salt to the wound, Koushirou then zips up the wall like this..

The good thing about Mimi is, though she’s emotional, it’s easy to lift her spirits. She’s very in the moment. And fortunate that she has a partner who is both very patient and useful in these circumstances.

Meanwhile the slightly-less-energetic group has put their heads together and decided to fly first class to their destination. I would ask where they got the basket but I’m sure I’d get the same answer as Taichi’s raft from episode 4 and Jou’s pergola from episode 7: these kids are extremely good at woodcraft and speedy

(or maybe Sora just had a giant basket in her bag, which we all understand by now is really a Bag of Holding)

While airborne they are Attacked!!! by SandYanmamon and not one but two tornadoes.

Jou: Wonderful!

(for a hot second there I mistook this for Birdramon’s line and was like “??? birdramon’s unusually sarcastic today” but of course it’s the king of morbid humor kido jou)

These Kyaromon appear out of nowhere to show off their dramatic eyeliner. Work it baby

Just when you think SandYanmamon and TWO FREAKING TORNADOES are enough, turns out there’s another threat lurking below the sand for the sole purpose of reminding us yet again “Pokemon this is not!”

SandYanmamon: Aaaaaaahhh nooooooooo i had so much living left to doooo heeeelp mommyyyyyyyyy

NOT IN FRONT OF THE CHILD YOU MONSTER!!!

Cool-headed Yamato figures out that the new monster is able to track their movements under the sand. He sends the others away while he stays behind to hold off the bad guy.

The Kyaromon lead them to a cave where they meet...

and also Neemon! and I’m just going to assume this is a parallel universe version of Frontier’s Neemon because it tickles me to think this is what he actually sounds and acts like and is just riding Bokumon out of pure spite

also Bearmon’s cap says “Bears.” Not bear, bears plural. I believe he’s an outcast former member of the Gummy Bears.

Neemon doesn’t know about the holy Digimon and tells the kids he is leading his group of perfectly helpless Digimon across the monster-infested desert because of the dark forces taking over everywhere. They will seek asylum with Leomon! We got our first mention of Leomon! Quick, cast your bets, how long till he dies? My guess is sooner rather than later because this seems like the kind of show that likes to kill your darlings.

Sora takes one look at this pathetic group and goes “We must go with them to protect them!” conveniently forgetting that she just got her ass kicked, but hey it’s the thought that counts

Yamato is quick to disagree.

Yamato: Did you forget that I stayed behind while you RAN AWAY? When you say let’s protect them, you mean I’M gonna be protecting them, right? RIGHT? That’s what you mean RIGHT??

(he thinks, but doesn’t say. that wouldn’t be Cool)

Yamato doesn’t want to lose sight of their mission, which is to fix things in their home world. He’s already at his limit hanging out with other human children who don’t know what they’re doing, he doesn’t want to be slowed down by freaking Bearmon. Wishy-washy Jou is like “Eh, either way sounds like death and torment to me, so...”

The interesting thing to me here is that no one’s upset. A bit surprised, I think, but Sora just stands her ground, Jou wibbles but eventually gets pumped up enough by Gomamon to decide to help her. They don’t even try much to stop Yamato from leaving which I think is what surprised me the most. I would have expected at least a vibe more like “We shouldn’t split up!” or something. If Taichi were there, maybe we’d have seen more conflict... but I’m really not sure. So far, conflict among the kids has been very low key. Even last week, the first time we saw Taichi and Yamato butt heads, to the other kids it was shocking but to a 99 Adventurer like me it was barely a kerfluffle xP

Well, anyway, the result is Sora and Jou stay with Neemon, and Yamato goes off on his own, and there is surprisingly little bad blood about any of this. They are all just getting to know each other though, so maybe that loyalty’s not quite expected yet.

Same as episode 8, Gabumon hints that there’s more to Yamato’s behavior than he lets on. He’s not just coldly abandoning his friends... except that he totally is >_> (As an adult, I don’t exactly think Yamato is wrong. I’d be more likely to agree with him than the others probably xP But these are children in a show for children, so Protecting Others and Following Your Feelings get a boost over cool rationale.)

Gabumon says Yamato should open up to the other kids. YEAH RIGHT. Yamato says “You’re all I need.” AWWWWWWWWW this wont backfire on them in a way that will wrench out my heart and tear it to a million pieces in forty episodes or so, no way

Ikkakumon becomes a Sand Boat while Birdramon covers the sky. At first I was like “hey! not a bad plan!” If they can help Neemon’s group get across the desert faster, it will be a big help even if they can’t take them further.

Of course, first they have to deal with the SandYanmamon.

Ikkakumon: Why does everyone go straight for the horn!?!

Oh, and also the two tornadoes.

Sora, standing on Birdramon’s leg: don’t look down don’t look down don’t look down

And now Sora’s on fire! That is it, I’m headcanoning it that the kids are basically invulnerable as long as they are touching their partners. THERE’S JUST NO EXPLAINING THIS

The flaming elementary school child does well until her partner is snared by the same monster from before, who turns out to be Scorpiomon. But this ain’t your momma’s Scorpimon from 99 Adventure, who was really Anomalocarimon but that was too hard to expect kids to say. This is the real Scorpiomon who is much scarier.

All of a sudden, from above!

ACTION LINES!!!

Yamato and Garurumon, both physically incapable of doing anything normally when there is a cooler, more awesome method available, drop into the battle from the air and start burning shit up.

They stand, bodies licked by blue flame, piercing eyes bright with the fever of battle, the sound of swooning fan girls echoing into the night

Garurumon does his best but Scorpiomon is a level higher so, duh, he doesn’t stand much of a chance. WHAT WILL OUR HERO DO.

Well, first, same as in episode 8, he flashes back to each of his newfound friends, gaining strength from their memory. Yamato is so sentimental it Hurts

Then his mind flashes to someone else...

... his favorite bobble head doll. No wait, that’s his round-headed baby brother, Charlie Brown.

he is infused with the power of Friendship!!!!!!!

Garurumon: What... is this feeling... so passionate... so... powerful... FFFRIENDSHIPPPPPP IS MAGIC

He then evolves into a brony into a furry in the coolest freakiest way he knows how.

WereGarurumon is basically everything the creators thought little boys like besides dinosaurs (because Taichi’s got that one covered) thrown together to make the ultimate little boy dream action figure: wolves, leather, hardware, piercings, brass knuckles, belts, skulls, scars, dog tags, and fuchsia stiletto nails

Ikkakumon: Sugoi... so shiny... oooh... blinding me...

WereGarurumon kicks Scorpiomon’s ass, it’s a cool battle scenes complete with kicks so fast his foot appears detached from his body. He then gives Yamato thumbs up.

Yamato: With nails like those the brass knuckles are kind of overkill...

Yamato dodges apologizing for going off on his own like that by saying he only came back because it’d be useful to him to have the others around as a decoy. Jou’s like FRIGGING DECOYS AGAIN??

But his dedication to remaining cool and aloof falters and he ends up telling them he’s just extra pressured to get their mission handled because he has a little brother, Takeru, living in Tokyo who is probably very scared stuck in the blackout. Sora and Jou are like “Oh, that makes sense, that’s why you’re so high strung.” They don’t point out the obvious, which is that they also have families affected by the blackout... >_>

Jou passionately thanks Yamato for being so forthcoming so early in the season and looks forward to telling Yamato about himself in the future.

The others: “But we already know all about you.”

Jou: “But HE doesn’t!”

xD look forward to it, Yamato...

It’s episode 11 and Yamato can already smile like this... I had to cap it.

Yamato: Ahh, I’m finally getting used to wearing this purple shirt. Still can’t get quite suppress the urge to cut off the sleeves though...

The other slice of bread completes our sandwich when we shoot back briefly to Taichi/Koushirou/Mimi’s group.

Taichi gets annoyed with Koushirou for the first time because of how much time Koushirou spends taking pictures of everything. Koushirou is that kid on the museum field trip who holds up the entire class reading every last word on the exhibit plaques while everyone else groans ‘cmon dude I wanna get to the dinosaurs before we go extinct too!!’

fyi I, Fizzing Wizard, was and am that slow ass kid

Mimi’s even more impatient than Taichi and in her boredom she starts touching things, because she’s never seen The Mummy.

Yeah so, clearly everyone’s gonna get to Perfect level much quicker than in 99 Adventure, which again, it’s good they’re mixing things up. The question is, what’s next? My guess is down the line everyone will get Ultimate levels and of course, at some point we’ll see Omegamon. I wonder if there will be other Jogress possibilities? Just because it’s hard to believe evolution will stop being important, but if they’re going through both Adult and Perfect so fast it doesn’t leave much left for the rest of the season...

I give this ep a 5.5/10 for being basically a remix of episode 8, and I’m looking forward to getting new stuff for Yamato eventually. Next week’s looking to be Mimi-centric if Lillymon’s any indication, but I’ve got my fingers crossed for a few Taishiro moments anyway.

My Review of In/Spectre

How did I get into this anime? Let’s see what my check-list was back when I picked this up during the winter time. Does Crunchyroll have immediate rights to play it? Yes! Do I have one more slot open for weekly showings? Yes! Are you in the mood to hear Mamoru Miyano right now? Always! Let’s do it!

Kotoko Iwanaga is used to the abnormal and out of place situations. When she was 11 years old, she went missing for two weeks. During that time, demons asked her to become their “God of Wisdom”. However, Iwanaga lost her right eye and left leg as a result of this power. Fast-forward approximately 7 years later when she meets a college-aged male named Kuro Sakuragawa. She found a fascination with him, but kept her distance due to him being engaged to another woman named Saki.

But Kuro’s life changed when he and his girlfriend were on vacation and saw a kappa and the situation turned near-deadly. Due to an abnormality with Kuro, whenever it looks like he’s on the verge of death, he comes back to life. Thing is, his girlfriend Saki was absolutely set aback by this development and they wound up breaking up. With the news of Kuro and Saki splitting up, Iwanaga seizes this opportunity to spend more time with this young man as she asks for his assistance with dealing with the supernatural…

And to be her boyfriend!

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: At the moment, Crunchyroll is the only one with authority to this anime and several weeks after the premier, they gave us an English dub. So far, so good! I’m getting a chance to hear a few of the newer voice actors and even some veterans like Cristina Vee. Now that some time has passed, all of the episodes are finally dubbed after a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As you already know from sentence one Kuro spoke, yes, that is Mamoru Miyano playing another main lead role. Luckily for me, he isn’t spazzy and he isn’t a holy asshole. Next to him, we have Akari Kitou who I’m hearing quite a bit of as of recent. I really enjoyed her performance as this insightful little lady. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

JAPANESE: *Iwanaga is played by Akari Kitou (known for Aru on Hitoribocchi, Nene on Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, and Kaho on Blend S)

*Kuro is played by Mamoru Miyano (known for Cilan on Pokemon BW, Light on Death Note, Tamaki on Ouran HSHC, Koutaro on Zombieland Saga, Rin on Free!, Death the Kid on Soul Eater, and Tsukiyama on Tokyo Ghoul)

*Saki is played by Misato Fukuen (known for Georgia on Pokemon BW, Chibiusa on Sailor Moon: Crystal, Iggy on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Pt. 3, Eruka on Soul Eater, Yami on To Love Ru, and Yin on Darker Than Black)

ENGLISH CAST: *Iwanaga is played by Lizzie Freeman (known for Cardinal on SAO: Alicization and Trish on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Pt. 5)

*Kuro is played by Brandon Winckler (known for Eugeo on SAO: Alicization and Dale on If It’s for My Daughter…)

SHIPPING: Well, let’s see if I can make any sense out of this.

*Iwanaga x Kuro: I guess it was love at first sight for Iwanaga as she seemed to have developed a crush when she first met him at the hospital. And you could tell how disappointed she was when Kuro’s relationship with Saki was growing. Even when Kuro is still in the post-breakup mode, Iwanaga has the balls to ask him to enter a relationship with her in the span of a single episode. And even after the two-year time-skip…I guess they are in a relationship. At least according to Iwanaga they are! It’s just that Kuro is so damned uninterested it’s so hard to tell. I’m not sure if I’m fully on board with this ship. Mostly because of Kuro’s disinterested attitude whenever he’s around his “girlfriend”! Iwanaga is very controlling in this relationship and prone to jealousy when Saki re-enters the picture later in the Steel Lady Nanase arc.

*Kuro x Saki: Yes, Saki was Kuro’s former girlfriend. Actually, it was more than that! They were freakin’ engaged! But because Saki got freaked out by the fact that Kuro could regenerate his body if he gets severely injured, she ended the relationship. Yeah, I can totally see how that would be shocking for anyone to go through. Due to the mystery that Iwanaga and Saki were trying to solve, the romance talks kinda had to be put to the side. It seems as though near the end that Saki has put her feelings of Kuro in the past and seems to have moved on for the most part. Plus when Saki was engaged to Kuro, she felt inferior to ANOTHER past love of Kuro’s. And now we gotta talk about…

*Kuro x Rikka: They’re cousins! BLOOD COUSINS! But Kuro has a special place in his heart for his sickly cousin! I mean, his thoughts of being greeted by Rikka at home compared to his real girlfriend are freakin’ damning. Plus both of these people have the same anomolie courtesy of their fucked up family. I’m not sure after the whole Steel Lady Nanase mess if Kuro’s perception of Rikka has changed for the worse. I just know that there was definitely something between those two. Kuro brings all his girlfriends to meet Rikka only for Rikka to say something like, “she’s not your type”.

ENDING: For the majority of the series, Iwanaga and Kuro have found themselves in the midst of a mystery involving the death of a famous actress. Seems simple enough in an anime like this, an idol (Karin Nanase) dies suddenly by a steel beam to the face and comes back to haunt the world of the living as a ghost (later named Steel Lady Nanase). But it can’t be that simple! There’s gotta be reasons for Steel Lady Nanase’s existence and Iwanaga is gonna figure it out one way or another.

I mean, she knows the real truth. It’s just that someone is pulling the strings behind Steel Lady Nanase still causing havoc. She’s still running amok due to a fan website dedicated to the ghost. And that site has A LOT of traction with fans of all sorts. Add to this mind-fuck, Kuro’s “lovely” cousin Rikka is the administrator for the website. As I’ve mentioned before, she has that immortality power that her cousin possesses as well. And Rikka uses that power to keep things going with Steel Lady Nanase.

Iwanaga went through several scenarios to disprove Steel Lady Nanase’s existence. And all but one of those theories were poked by skeptics and even Rikka who was stalking the forums. It wasn’t until Iwanaga came up with the theory of Nanase meeting a woman who looks exactly like her and that her doppleganger was the one that died at the construction site. Somehow that was the theory millions of fans took as truth and this was how Iwanaga was able to take down Rikka and her fansite.

So everything is gonna go back to somewhat normal. Karin Nanase can rest in peace, the spirits around the area can rest easy without being tormented by a crazy bitch swinging a steel beam, Saki goes back to work as a police officer, Rikka is still lurking around, and we get a cute moment between Iwanaga and Kuro.

This anime started out strong, but once you realize that this Steel Lady Nanase arc was going to be covered in 10 episodes out of a 12 episode series, it kinda leaves this series a little underwhelming. The idea of having one character with the ability to communicate with spirits and another character with an anomolie in his body preventing him from dying seemed really interesting. Especially when you have someone like Iwanaga trying to solve mysteries and coming up with the best case scenario in every case! But that’s just it, we only got two cases in this 12 episode series. The manga still seems pretty new and so I’m hoping to see more development with Iwanaga and Kuro. It’s an okay series, it’s just that I give a hesitant recommendation with the warning that this will drag a bit when we’re stuck in Steel Lady Nanase hell for 10 episodes. In an anime season that was filled to the brim with mystery animes, I actually found myself a little more invested in Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun. But that’s just me! You guys make your own judgments on which mystery anime of 2020 wins your vote.

Final note: The OP is a banger and as for the ED, it’s always a treat whenever Mamoru Miyano is singing!

so i have previously done last airbender and azula, and i still have such absolutely boring kataang takes, so -- 

KORRA TIME

Favorite character: JINORA, zhu li, kya, ikki, eska, korra, bumi  

Least Favorite character: okay.........meelo grates on my nerves, often, i feel bad about that but he does, and i like Get zaheer as a character but i’m very ‘meh’ about him, really, same with unalaq 

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): i am just as boring in my ships with korra as i am with last airbender so it really is just, korrasami 

Character I find most attractive: ....asami’s hair flips are so pretty 

Character I would marry: tough call. not really any of them?? 

Character I would be best friends with: god you know what it’s probably still katara only now i get old badass katara. 

a random thought: i think the show is better watched binged straight through from beginning to end than it was watching it in real time, with the space between books, because i remember being really irritated by korra especially in book 2, but when i sat down to watch it straight from beginning to end after it was all over i liked the pacing a lot more and i liked korra a lot more. 

An unpopular opinion: back when book 1 first happened i thought it would be better if korra could still only airbend at the end of book 1 and spent the rest of the books getting the other elements back but in retrospect i don’t know how that would work (although i mean given wan and the lion turtles? that could’ve actually worked.) but i still get a little Irritated about her just regaining her bending like that. sometimes i feel like the writing in korra, as good as it is OVERALL, is kind of, uneven because i think bryke weren’t ever sure if they’d get the next season???? oh this is not unpopular i’m really bad at unpopular 

okay this is probably the true unpopular opinion, i don’t think pema should’ve been pregnant in book 1 solely because in general (but not always) i Do Not like pregnancy plots because they’re mostly used for certain dramatic moments and then afterwards you have a baby to deal with that usually isn’t ever talked about again because no one has the time to bother with them because now it’s not an optionally angsty plot point i mean seriously what do we really see of rohan after he’s born and if we see him he’s just passed around like a lil potato and not that we HAVE to see character in A NEWBORN but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN i am of the firm opinion that if you write something you have to deal with the repercussions and that means Dealing With New Baby Character and rarely do i see that happen

Most Badass Character: IT’S STILL TOPH 

Most Epic Villain: the thing about korra was because there’s a different villain for each season they all have sort of......an Epic-ness about them, i think? they definitely have a finality about all of them, but they’re all, fairly well-written, but in terms of BEING EPIC i think zaheer is epic in terms of grandeur and kuvira is epic in terms of her whole side-character-to-accidental-villain thing 

Pairing I am not a fan of: is there anyone who’s a fan of mako and korra, at this point? okay probably but. no 

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): okay it’s not that like, i think they screwed up here, but like, what i would’ve done for more info about izumi and just like, zuko as a parent, OH but at (my usual) a passing backwards glance over the series, maybe mako could’ve been, written better, idk, there’s a thin line sometimes between ‘a character rightfully changing over time and making mistakes and other important character stuff and i’m just rightfully irritated at some of the stuff he did cause like the audience is supposed to be’ and ‘a character should’ve just been written better’ 

Favourite Friendship: su and lin do become better friends, right?? (it’s been so long.) and i specify ‘friends’ because i think their relationship has to exist as them being friends compared to them being sisters (not because they’re half-sisters but because of just how they were as sisters) 

Character I most identify with: it’s korra because of The Depression Arc like damn 

Character I wish I could be: yeah it’s still jinora, even before last airbender happened i was always super-fascinated (in the way that children are with the idea of magic) by the idea of controlling air so when the show happen i always wanted to be an airbender, just in general, and i always really liked jinora’s wholehearted belief and confidence in her abilities and how take no shit she becomes (and also “i will make no such promises.”)

When I started shipping them: the finale happened and i was like ‘well there’s no way i’m not gonna ship them’ 

My thoughts: i really wanna rewatch the show (i haven’t since......when did pokemon go come out, it was that summer. 2016????? really????? fuck.) and really pay attention to their relationship because memory tells me it could’ve been a little more consistent, but in general they have the most genuine, heartfelt chemistry built upon actual respect and admiration for each other and they get each other in a way that mako clearly did not get them. also goddddd the fact that asami is the only one korra can comfortably write to while she’s depressed really fucking gets me 

What makes me happy about them: they make each other happy and (idk in my opinion which rapidly builds headcanons at the speed of light sometimes) make each other feel happy about themselves and that’s really all you can ask for, in a relationship 

What makes me sad about them: when they were weird rivals for a while in book 1 because girl rivals (especially over a boy) hurt my soul 

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: i’ve never actually sought out fic with them!! 

Things I look for in fanfic: in general, i am, a terrible stickler about characterization, and that doesn’t change in any pairing or fandom 

My wishlist: my Absolute Jam, across the board in all fandoms, is post-canon fics (or during canon sometimes that’s applicable) where, the actual canon trauma is discussed and worked through (in some way or another) so if i was going to look for fanfic with them, that would be, at the top of the list, but i would also just take slice of life cuddles because i always think about that sweet art bryan did where they’re in the turtledove float and that’s so comfy and warm 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: personal happiness 

My happily ever after for them: they get to chill and not have to run around saving the world all the time

How I feel about this character: korra took a while to grow on me, and also like, main characters tend to be typically underrated in a large cast and aren’t usually people’s favorites compared to other characters, but i have come to really like her a lot!! she really is more lonely than people gave her credit for and she has to deal with A Lot, constantly, and so much of korra is her trying to figure out not just how to be the best avatar but how to be the best her and when she gets to do either one and who lets her do either one, and her frustration and rage are so quick and volatile and personal and high-key relatable, and damn was her depression/recovery arc done well 

also the fact that she was accidentally holding onto the remaining lead and had to get it out herself is, yeah 

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: asami! 

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: KORRA AND NAGA i was going through my korra tag and found the comic where she finds naga and god it’s just the best 

My unpopular opinion about this character: hmmmm. is this still unpopular? korra’s occasional brattiness is completely justified when you look at the series as a whole (which is why i mention watching it that way) because wow she’s grown up completely isolated from anyone else her own age and people in her life inadvertently or on purpose took advantage of that 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: all i would say is her, awkwardness in interacting with people at the beginning of the show because of how she grew up but we do get that, don’t we 

Favorite friendship for this character: korra honestly needs more friends her age

HC: Impacting Humans

I’m gonna start off this headcanon by stating that, despite how aloof or negative she may act. M(N)EWTWO DOES NOT 100% AUTOMATICALLY HATE ALL HUMANS SHE ENCOUNTERS. Sure she may seem more spiteful at certain individuals than others, but that likely will be prompted because her mind powers saw something about your human muse that she absolutely could not stand, like being a Rocket gang member or Pokemon hunter for example. In short she has a more “medium” distaste for humanity in general; feeling wary of them due to her past experiences along with our usual blunders but is unlikely to truly commit towards wiping out humanity similar to how og Mewtwo responded. This was mainly brought about thanks to some special people, and I am going to go into detail on just how world-changing they truly were to her below. 

First up is Natural Harmonia Gropius aka N, or rather the image of him. Explained in this post here, Psyche’s visions nearing her awakening consisted of memories of N as an infant. Seeing him made M16 Mewtwo experience her first sense of happiness, and endowed her with a certain eagerness to see world outside. She wasn’t even NEARLY as upset as her predecessor was with Amber, when being separated by him upon waking up, because unlike unfortunate tot forerunner knew, Psyche only had a non-living image to cling upon. Heck the main reason she even stayed with those scientists for as long as she did stemmed from their promises towards her getting to see him eventually. She still has this desire to meet him in person too and it’s mainly why she will be willing to approach any N, I role play with. Though I won’t force my headcanons on you guys, you N muns can just ignore it if you like.

Second is the people who at least ATTEMPTED to help her in Prologue to Awakening, Anna, Oscar and Unova’s anime champ Virgil. However we’re mainly going to be talking about Anna here. I truly believe that this little mountain girl was the first, living example of a human actually being truly innocent. In fact it’s part of the reason Newtwo saved her and her grandfather along Stoutland when they fell into ravine. That and she didn’t want to traumatize big-hearted Pokemon, by making him watch as those he actually felt attached towards fell to their deaths. Little girl’s living innocence felt new and fascinated Psyche, to some extent. Then when not only her, but Oscar and Virgil worked together with every Pocket Monster in the forest to GENUINELY try and help her, she was... a little shocked to say the least. Anna even went far as APOLOGIZING to Psyche, which was something she never received nor witnessed before that point. In short, though their attempt failed spectacularly the group at least proved to clone that not all humans possessed bad intentions. She even grew to like saccharine human children a bit more, because of it.

Last but certainly not least, we have Ash and the Unova gang [aka Iris and Cilan]! Ash in particular contributed IMMENSELY to lightening her view on humans, not simply because she discovered that he helped og Mewtwo out in Returns, but also because despite EVERYTHING he had been through at that point [dying five times, dealing with numerous criminal teams/villains, being beaten over and over again, helping out EVERY LEGENDARY AND MYTHICAL KNOWN IN EXISTENCE] he STILL kept and fulfilled his promise to the Genesect because it really mattered to him. Also don’t even get me started on his little speech here, cause I weep every time I think about it. Iris and Cilan also proved to be capable humans to an extent as well, specifically with successfully preventing her and Red from full on crash-landing. Plus their contrasting personalities with one another somewhat fascinated her as well. With all this under their belts, they became the first human beings Mewtwo would actually call her friends and I can promise you, she will never forget them even eons after their passing. 8′D
