2023 - Week 45 - A book whose author has published more than 7 books

My Pick: Gone Again - Minka Kent

It felt good to read another thriller for a change. However, when I first started reading this book I thought I was reading a repeat of Minka’s book Unmissing. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. I love a good twist I didn’t see coming. There were also some comical points, “it’s always the husband.” If you’re looking for a thriller with cult-y vibes I can’t recommend this book enough.

@thisispattismith is probably my no. 1 female artist, but my coverage of her music in my collection is really spotty. I shall have to Fix That. The single #frederick from the #1979 #album #wave is the beginning of a trilogy of #albums that documents her beautiful, enduring (to this day) love affair with Fred “Sonic” Smith, best known as guitarist for the #mc5. Her next album, #dreamoflife, was written with him while they were having and raising children, and her next after that, #goneagain, was written after his tragic, untimely death from heart failure. She had also lost her brother Todd, her friends #robertmapplethorpe and #richardsohl, and #kurtcobain had recently died since the recording of her previous album. #jeffbuckley contributes vocals and then passed away a year later, so this album also represents his last studio recordings.
