Hobbies and sub-hobbies
I've been working on implementing a sub-hobby system in my game recently and really enjoying it! I took a look at the different activities available for different hobbies and came up with my list, which I thought I'd share here.
I do have some mods that change the hobby enthusiasm of some objects, or add new ones - I'll link where applicable.
I don't assign these based on any system, just vibes. I usually stick with whatever hobby the game assigns, but I do sometimes change them if it really feels like it doesn't fit to me. The sub-hobbies are intended to be a main focus, but Sims can and will still try other aspects of their overall hobby, and other hobbies altogether sometimes too!
The list is a work in progress but I'm basically happy with it now.
Edited: I found a version of the punching bag that gives fitness enthusiasm instead of sports, and that activity makes more sense to me as a fitness thing, so I moved that sub-hobby over.
Edited x2: Combined a couple gaming subhobbies into "Social Games" and added MyShuno to that category.
Cuisine
Cooking
Baking
Wine & Cocktails
Foodie (restaurants, delivery)
Films & Literature
Reading
Writing (helpful but not necessary to also have this mod)
Movies
Tinkering
Restoring & Repairing (restorable car, general repairs, plus drafting blueprints thanks to a mod)
Woodworking (here and here)
Tinker Toys (RC cars, model trains, toy workbench)
Sports
Soccer
Basketball
Sports Fan (watching sports)
Golf (Execuputter reward object made buyable)
Baseball
Football
Music & Dance
Dancing
Ballet
Piano/Keyboard
Synthesizer
Violin
Singing
Guitar
Bass
Drums
Fitness
Swimming
Lifting & Cardio
Yoga
Boxing (with modded hanging bag from here - unlocked buyable punching bag still gives sports hobby, but it seems more like a fitness thing to me as a solo activity)
Arts & Crafts
Painting
Pottery
Sewing
Photography (hugely aided by the buyable antique camera and Epi and PF's camera overhaul mod)
Knitting (Eisbaer's edit of TonyVeis' 4t2 mod)
Science
Stargazing/Aliens
Biotech (buyable Biotech station and microscopes with science enthusiasm added)
Robotics (this mod makes robotics science related which makes far more sense to me)
Games
Video Games (console, handheld, computer, arcade games)
Board Games (chess, Don't Wake the Llama, mahjong)
Social Games (darts, poker, pool, bowling, MyShuno)
Nature
Entomology (hunting bugs, catching fireflies and butterflies)
Animals (small pets like womrats, birds, koi fish, bird watching)
Gardening (harvestable crops, orchard trees - I play with perfect plants mod so they don't have to maintain flowers and shrubs)
Outdoorsy (fishing, hiking, camping, cloud watching)
Flower Arranging (this mod changes the enthusiasm on the flower bench to nature)

The Princess and The Tool
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ repair man!Simon Riley x curvy!Y/N
˚ପ⊹ Warnings: None other than Simon’s just a man, and his thoughts start to wander.
₊˚ପ⊹ Part 1
₊˚ପ⊹ Word count: 2.5k
₊˚ପ⊹ Summary: Y/N and her best friend have finished unpacking in their new apartment. However, in the span of two months, more and more problems have occurred. Simon Riley is one of the several repair men in the area, and he’s sent over as a last resort to provide the solutions.
➽──────────────❥
Y/N was the most independent woman known to her family and friends. She was headstrong, had an incredible work ethic, and always looked after those who were close to her. As the youngest of two children, she took it upon herself to learn valuable life skills rather than wait until she was older. While her childhood wasn’t like what she had seen in movies and tv shows, Y/N never lost hope.
Y/N and her best friend, Luna, have known each other since freshman year of high school, and their friendship was nearing a decade. They were now in their early twenties, and they decided to proceed with their plan of moving together into their first apartment.
Although, Y/N had noticed a couple of things that seemed kind of worrying. She soon realized that the previous owner hadn’t taken great care of it when they lived there. A singular step on the staircase wasn’t properly bolstered, which led to the poor woman getting her foot stuck in the hole. She fell forward with a loud bang, and silence fell upon her roommate and herself.
“Are you still alive?” Luna joked as she stared at her best friend’s fallen body at the top of the staircase. Luckily, Y/N wasn’t injured judging by the laugh of disbelief that fell from her lips.
The worst of them was when the breaker shut off and neither of them were home. Y/N urged Luna to send a work order to the people in charge of repairs. The following week, the first man to check the breaker was no help whatsoever. He stared at the breaker for five minutes, shrugged at Luna, and left.
So Y/N sent a message herself, which was taken more seriously than her roommate’s. Little did she know who would be the one to come to the rescue.
➽──────────────❥
Y/N and Luna were planning on how to spend their afternoon together. Unbeknownst to either of them, there was a man parked outside of the apartment and sitting on a golf cart. Luna had her back turned to him, phone nestled between her cheek and shoulder as she locked the door. She almost walked past him until he called out to her, which pulled her attention to him. She put her phone against her chest, startled and embarrassed that she actually didn’t see him.
“I’m so sorry! I had no idea you were waiting here!” Luna’s face was reddened with a deep blush as she apologized profusely. The man chuckled in response, not really offended by her reaction. It sent an unexpected shiver down her spine. “S’alright. I tried callin’ ya, but I’m glad I caught ya before ya left.” He had a thick English accent, and his voice only caused her blush to worsen.
He rose to his feet, easily towering over her, the lower half of his face adorned with a scar running across his lips and chin. Like the other maintenance men that arrived at their apartment before him, he wore the standard uniform. Khaki shorts that hugged his muscular thighs, a standard cobalt blue uniform t-shirt that stretched tightly around his broad chest, and he had short cropped blonde hair. On his left arm, he had a full sleeve of black and white tattoos.
A few seconds later, Y/N drove up to the empty parking spot and turned off the car engine. Her eyes widened at the welcome sight of the repair man standing in front of her roommate. She got out of her car, making sure to lock the doors more than once as she made her way over. “Hello! We didn’t know what time you would be here, so we figured we would go for a little shopping trip.” Y/N explained as she waved to him with a warm smile.
In the back of his mind, Simon thought that he was lucky to be around two beautiful women. But that wasn’t the reason why he was outside of their shared apartment this morning. “Oh? Well, name’s Simon Riley, and I hope tha’ I can help you ladies with any issues.” He introduced himself, and gently shook Y/N’s much smaller hand. “I’m Y/N, and she’s Luna. She’s my best friend/roommate.” She replied in kindness, and her roommate smiled up towards Simon.
He shook Luna’s hand as well, the soft crow’s feet by his eyes crinkling with a wide smile of his own. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both.” With introductions were out of the way, Simon followed the two of them inside the apartment. He also noticed their similar styles. Y/N wore black spandex that stopped mid-thigh with a baggy t-shirt, and black Nike slides. Luna, on the other hand, wore ripped denim shorts, a black video game t-shirt, and black combat boots.
“My roommate told me that when she came home, everything was turned off.” Y/N began to explain as she stood against the wall adjacent to the circuit breaker. “We have no idea why or how the breaker tripped when neither of us were home.” Luna added with a shrug and watched Simon turn on his flashlight.
He nodded in acknowledgement of their concerns then rolled his eyes at the mention of his co-worker not being any help whatsoever. He wasn’t surprised, but he was glad that he had the opportunity to prove he was more experienced. “So it turns out that there’s a loose screw. Chances are that it was caused by the storm we had recently.” Simon concluded as he switched off his flashlight and sighed.
Y/N and Luna looked at each other, the both of them silently communicating before laughing. “That’s it? Just a loose screw?” Luna asked mid giggle, and Y/N laughed a bit harder. “And here we thought that we were going crazy.” Luna shook her head before sighing softly. Y/N soon calmed down then noticed how Simon’s gaze lingered on her. She cleared her throat, straightening her posture and tilting her head slightly to the side with a smile.
Simon quickly tore his eyes away, cursing at himself for getting distracted by a gorgeous woman who was clearly younger than him. “Was there anything else that you needed help with?” He asked Luna, who nodded and was aware of how he stared at Y/N. “Yeah, the paint is peeling off in her bathroom, and there’s like, mold in the corner of my bathtub.” She replied, glancing at her best friend for confirmation.
“Also, one of the stairs at the top has the carpet lifting.” Y/N added, which caused Simon to furrow his brows. The more he learned about the negligence of his co-workers, the more disappointed he became. “She got her foot caught in the hole and fell on her face.” Luna piped up, and Simon’s eyes widened. “What? You fell?” His scarred lips morphed into a sneer, but it wasn’t directed towards either of the women.
How dare the other repair men be so careless? They should’ve done a routine check before approving that everything was safe. Especially with two sweet women who just moved into their very first apartment. Simon’s intense glare could’ve burned a hole in the floor.
“I’ll show you where exactly the paint is peeling.” Y/N walked past Simon, and he caught a whiff of her perfume. It suited her perfectly; there were notes of vanilla, sandalwood, and peony. Soft, feminine, and certainly alluring as he followed after her up the stairs. He couldn’t stop himself from staring at her hands that were covering her ass out of courtesy. A part of him wished he was able to see it jiggle with every step she took.
Y/N claimed the master bedroom for herself. It was spacious; the king size bed was against the furthest wall from the door, a singular window with grayish-blue and sheer curtains was on the right side of the bed, the tv was mounted on the opposite side, and there was a shelf that served as a temporary night stand. A very simple setup for Y/N until she bought more furniture.
She turned on the light in the bathroom, and Simon was right behind her. Y/N had chosen to go with a black and white aesthetic. The shower curtain had a deep green leaf print, and there was also a toilet overhead shelf. Facing the toilet were matching black fluffy towels, and two checkerboard print hand towels side-by-side. It almost a tight fit with his bigger stature taking up most of the space.
“I didn’t really think of it as a big deal at first,” Y/N pointed at the top of the tile wall next to the shower head. “But I did want to have it redone before it could peel even more.” Her lips formed a soft pout, and Simon had to fight the urge to stare at them.
He had to stand behind Y/N, and the smell of her perfume filled his nostrils again. “I see. I’ll have it lookin’ brand new, I promise.” His voice rumbled in his chest as he leaned closer to assess where the paint was coming off.
But it was impossible to stop his mind from wandering. Simon pictured her covered in bubbles as she bathed. Her skin glistened from the warm water, aromatics wafted in the air, and her sultry gaze met the hunger brewing behind his eyes. Her hand slid down her soapy tits and disappeared underneath the water. Her plump lips parted to moan out his name as her back arched in pleasure.
What pulled him out of his naughty fantasy was when Y/N lost her footing leaning too far over the tub. She yelped in surprise, and his fast reflexes caught her before she fell. They stayed like that, his thick strong arms wrapped firmly around her waist to keep her upright. Y/N’s heart was pounding in her ears, and she had to ignore where his fingers were gently pressing into her skin through her t-shirt.
“Careful, love,” he whispered in her ear. “Wouldn’t want you hurting tha’ pretty head o’ yours.” Y/N would’ve melted right then and there if it weren’t for Simon supporting her weight. It was both amazing and flattering that he wasn’t struggling to hold her up.
“Thank you, Simon.” She whispered back, her voice slightly trembling as he carefully helped her stand on her feet again. “You’re welcome, princess.” He chuckled at the sight of her adorable blush. Y/N wasn’t sure how to recover mentally and emotionally from what just happened.
Luna eventually came upstairs to check on them, and with one look on Y/N’s face, she immediately put the pieces together. “So… will you be able to start painting the wall today?” Luna spoke up after a few moments of awkward silence passed. Simon’s mind was reeling as he turned to the other woman, and his hands were itching to feel Y/N again. “I’d have to come back on another since I don’t have the right tools with me. But let me take a look at your tub.”
They then left Y/N’s room, went down the stairs, and made their way to Luna’s bathroom. Compared to the Y/N’s bathroom, hers was an all blue aesthetic. Beside the tub was a soft navy blue bath mat. Luna’s shower curtain had a continuous pattern of navy blue teardrops in the form of circles. She pulled the shower curtain to the right, revealing her personal hygiene care and the corner with mold buildup.
“I noticed it a couple of days ago, but I couldn’t clean it off.” Luna gestured to the left corner of the bathtub next to the faucet. Simon’s eyes followed the direction of where she was pointing, and he understood why she felt somewhat frustrated. “Not even the scrub daddy could remove whatever that is.”
“It shouldn’t take me too long to caulk and re-paint that corner.” Simon reassured her, his hand pulling out his phone from his pocket to take a picture the mold. “I’ll care take of this on my next availability before moving up so I can re-paint your wall, too.” He said to Y/N after standing up to his full height. It was almost comical how he looked so out of place in Luna’s bathroom. Almost. If he wanted, he could have Y/N pinned against the wall and keep her there until he was done with her.
Simon waited for the roommates to leave the bathroom first, making sure to turn the light off as he walked away. “Alright,” he began once they gathered in the kitchen. “Just to be clear—replace the breaker, paint the bathroom wall, re-caulk the bathtub corner, and fix the stair. Does that sound right to you ladies?” Y/N and Luna nodded at the same time, pleased to hear that Simon remembered what needed to be taken care of.
“Yup! I don’t think there’s anything else.” Y/N beamed at Simon, and he swore he felt his chest tighten. She was beautiful, had a wonderful personality, and now she would plague his thoughts from now on. “Good, good. I’ll start on the breaker, so I won’t keep you waiting too long.” He turned around to leave, closing the front door behind him.
Luna waited until his footsteps receded and that he was out of earshot. “Girl, we got a man who knows what he’s doing. And he’s attractive!” Luna softly gushed to Y/N, and they both giggled. “His tattoos and arms, though? I’d let him put me in a chokehold any day.” Y/N rolled her eyes with a smile at her best friend’s comments. She recalled the moment when he had her in his tight embrace. Simon truly was a good-looking man despite his height and scars.
Half an hour later, Simon returned and finished replacing the breaker with an entirely new one. He took a step back to ensure that it wasn’t loose on any side, and nodded in satisfaction. “Yeah, tha’ should do it.” He hummed, pleased with himself for completing the task. Y/N and Luna were also pleased that he knew what he was doing—unlike his co-workers. “Like I mentioned earlier,” Simon spoke as he shut the breaker door, “I’ll come back to re-caulk and re-paint in both of your bathrooms.”
“Would it be possible for you to come in the morning? I’ll be available, but Y/N has work at night.” Luna questioned him as they all hovered near the now open front door. The women could tell that his visit was ending soon, and they were grateful for his help. “I can be here at ten o’clock sharp.” Simon readily agreed to her request, but a part of him was disappointed that he’d miss out on seeing Y/N again. “I’ll also give you a call to let you know that I’m on my way.”
“Perfect! Thank you for your help, and I hope you have a great afternoon!” Y/N waved goodbye, her (e/c) eyes shining in the sunlight. Her smile must be protected at all costs, kept away from the evil of the world. Simon returned the gesture before he winked at her. “No problem, love. Likewise.” And with that, he got into his golf cart then drove away.
Y/N and Luna stood in the doorway, completely shell-shocked by what unfolded. “What just happened?” Y/N whispered to her best friend, who honestly didn’t have an answer. “I’m pretty sure he finds you attractive.” Luna replied before shutting the front door and locking it. “Oh, my god, he finds you attractive!” She squealed with excitement, gently shaking Y/N’s arm. “Don’t worry, I’ll tell you everything that happens tomorrow when you’re at work.” Luna promised her because that’s what good best friends do.
When Y/N gathered her once scrambled thoughts, she grabbed her purse from the kitchen island. “We’re going shopping, and you’re driving.” Luna let out a dramatic groan, but didn’t complain about being the designated driver. “Okay, let’s go.” She put her bag over her shoulder, took out her keys, and the two best friends left to do some retail therapy.

Right Place, Right Time (last pt. LN)
pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3, pt. 4
@seasonswinter @drdbnkl2008 @jaematthews15
this is the longest one bc i needed to finish before i go on vacation :)
To say things were not going well was an understatement. On the outside it seemed like you were holding it together but on the inside you were barely staying afloat. You were going out less with your friends, keeping more to yourself at work, and drinking more. You'd watched both of the races since Austin, secretly happy to see that Lando was finishing outside of the top 5 both times. You had been staying off social media but one of your friends had let it slip that he had been fined a bunch for refusing to speak to media after both races.
You'd facetimed Lily a couple of times and she never brought him up but could tell that you were still sad about the situation. She still insisted you come to Vegas and you promised that you were still coming.
Lily was worried about both you and Lando. He was miserable, Oscar talked about it all the time. Moody in team meetings and refusing to hang out with anyone besides Max Fewtrell occasionally. She was a romantic, so she was hoping that you two would make up in Vegas and it would all magically work out in the end. There was one step already in motion that you were just about to tell her.
"So I have some news," you said over the phone, mindlessly picking at your nails. "And am hoping for some advice."
"Okay...what's up?" She said.
"So you know how I was telling you last week about being nervous for this meeting with my boss and her boss?"
"Yeah, what happened?"
"They offered me a new job." Lily squealed.
"That's so exciting, congratulations," she said. "I haven't necessarily accepted it yet," you said.
"Why not?" "The role would be managing the EMEA partner team, meaning I would have to move to the UK," you said and she was silent for a second.
"Oh," she finally said.
"Oh is right," you said sighing. "It's a great career opportunity but with where things stand with Lando I'm not sure if it's a good idea."
"I mean would you really be around him that much?"
"I guess not really but we'd still cross paths a lot."
"Hmm have you talked to him since October?"
"Nope."
"Maybe you guys should talk next week?," she suggested.
You actually had been planning on doing that, trying to make up and see if you could repair what happened but then your friends showed you some tabloid pictures, you changed your mind. You tried to not pay attention to any F1 gossip but you'd gone down a rabbit hole when it was reported that Lando was with a blonde girl while with Max F on a golf trip. Your suspicions were confirmed when you saw a pic him with her in his car. At first you cried for a good couple of hours and then you were livid. He's the one that was sooo into you.
"I don't think so," you said simply. "He's already moved on so it doesn't really matter."
"Well I think you should still take the job, don't let him take away something good."
--------- Vegas GP week, Friday -------------
You walked into the paddock with confidence radiating from you. You actually had passes for Red Bull's garage for the weekend thanks to Max but you thought it would be a bad look professionally to rep their merch so you had a cute Ferrari jacket in case you were cold.
"Ahh hermosa, did you wear that for me?" You laughed pulling Carlos into a hug. "Looks like you stole those jeans from Charles' closet though."
"I missed you buddy," you said and he smiled, throwing his arm around you as you walked through.
"I missed you too, not as bad as someone else though," he said and you stopped walking, crossing your arms over your chest.
"His new company seems to suit him just fine," you said and Carlos raised his eyebrows.
"Y/n I don-," you cut him off.
"I don't want to talk about him," you said and he nodded.
Speaking of the literal devil, your steps faltered as you saw him staring at you from across the path, ignoring the reporter trying to get his attention. He started to step towards you and Carlos but you watched Carlos shake his head and he stopped moving, looking deflated. You kept your eyes forward and let Carlos guide you towards Red Bull.
"Schatje!"
You smiled widely as Max picked you up twirling you around.
"I'm actually very upset with you," he said once he put you down and you looked at him quizzically.
"You're moving closer to me and you didn't say anything," he said and you nodded.
"You're moving?" Carlos asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I got promoted to oversee all of our European partnerships so i'll be heading to the land of the British next month," you told him and he grinned.
"Congrats y/n, you deserve it." He said.
"Does Lando know?" Max asked.
"No, and I would prefer to keep it that way," you said firmly. Both boys nodded but gave each other a look. Carlos had to head back to Ferrari so you and Max headed into the garage. You watched his and Checo's practice session and then headed towards hospitality for lunch. Max walked you up there but then beckoned Daniel over to you.
"I have to go to a debrief but Daniel will keep you company," he told you and you rolled your eyes.
"I don't need a babysitter Max," you grumbled.
"We have a united front," he said before leaving you.
You didn't realize what he meant until later when it seemed like you had spent the day being passed from driver to driver keeping you away from anyone wearing Papaya. At one point you sat in silence with Fernando drinking coffee, both feeling awkward but it paid off. Lando had ended up in the same area and he saw his chance but Fernando abruptly stood up and Lando quickly turned on his heel.
At the end of the day you waited in the parking lot for Lily and squealed when you saw her and Oscar walking towards you. You gave her a big hug before moving to give Oscar one. When he pulled away he kept his arms on your shoulders shaking you.
"I am begging you y/n, please talk to him," he said. "I am going to kill him or myself by the end of this weekend if he doesn't stop."
"Just tell him to leave me alone," you said sourly and Oscar sighed. Lily slipped her arms through yours and you headed towards your car.
"I know you're with RB for the weekend but will you please keep me company tomorrow during qualifying?" Lily asked. You thought about it for a minute before agreeing.
The three of you piled into Oscar's car and drove you to the strip to find someplace for dinner. You got seated quickly at a nice restaurant thanks to Oscar's status and you had just opened the menu when someone slid into the 4th seat, across from you.
"Lando," Oscar said and you groaned.
"What?" He asked innocently. "I want to have dinner with my teammate, is that a crime?" You huffed and Lily gave you a sympathetic look.
"Nice jacket," he said causing you to finally meet your eyes. His expression was neutral and you kept yours the same.
"Thanks, it was a gift from Carlos," you replied.
"Lovely," he muttered looking down at his menu. "How have you been?"
"Fine."
"Good, good," he said awkwardly.
Oscar luckily jumped in at that point to take over the conversation. Lando kept trying to catch your eye but you refused to look at him and you could see him growing more frustrated. The waiter came back at the end asking how you guys wanted to split the check and Lando quickly motioned that the two of you were on one and Lily and Oscar on another. You huffed crossing your arms.
The four of you headed out of the restaurant, Lando close behind you.
"Ride with me back?" He asked hopefully.
"Absolutely not," you replied and he sighed.
"Are you going to keep avoiding me the rest of the weekend?" He asked.
"Hopefully for the rest of eternity," you said back.
"Baby please," he said and you whirled on him bringing your finger up to point.
"You don't get to call me that," you seethed and he gave you those sad puppy dog eyes. You caught up with Lily who didn't press about the situation, simply squeezing your hand in support.
----- Qualifying --------
You got to the McLaren garage early the next day to find Lily and unfortunately she was not the first person you saw.
"Come to wish me luck?" Lando said as you walked in, grabbing your attention.
"I quite literally am praying that you are out in Q1," you replied and he frowned. One of his engineers laughed, covering it up with a cough and he shot them a look. You found Lily sitting with a headset on and you joined her. The first round went by fast, both boys making it into Q2.
Q2 was going fine to start but you noticed that some of the engineers jumped in scrambling with anxiety. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up just in time to watch Lando slam into the wall on turn 14. You gasped and grabbed Lily's hand instinctively, your other one going to cover your mouth. You heard his engineer repeatedly ask over the radio if he was okay and you let out a massive sigh of relief when he groaned out that he was.
You watched as he pulled himself out of the car, holding his side. He disappeared with the stewards and you fiddled with your hands nervously.
"I need to get some air," you told Lily pulling off the headset and heading back outside.
You lingered outside of the medical tent for a little bit before finally deciding to walk in. You saw Lando lying on a bed, clearly in pain waiting on a doctor to come over. You made your way over to him slowly and he reached his hand out to you when he noticed. You slipped your hand in his, bringing the other to run your hand through his hair. The doctor came in and wanted to check Lando's ribs so you helped him pull his suits off. Lando squeezed your hand hard, face grimacing as they felt around his ribs.
They ended up deciding that nothing was broken, just bruised and you walked back to the garage with Lando ,your hand still in his. His team surrounded him as you got back and you squeezed his hand as a goodbye before going to find Lily again.
------- Race Day ----------
Lando's POV
Lando was waiting around for the driver's parade talking to Oscar when Max and Carlos walked up.
"How are you feeling?" Carlos asked.
"Meh, it still hurts but it's survivable," he replied and the guys nodded.
"Heard you had a visitor in the medical tent," Oscar said and Lando blushed.
"I was very surprised to see her," he admitted and Oscar grinned.
"Guess you'll be seeing a lot of her soon too," Max said and both Oscar and Carlos snapped their heads towards him. "Oh fuck."
"What are you talking about?" Lando said confused. All three of them refused to look at him. "Guys?" Oscar sighed.
"She got promoted at Monster and is going to be based out of the UK starting next month," he said and Lando was shocked moving angrily towards him.
"Why didn't anyone fucking tell me that?" He demanded and Carlos stepped in.
"She asked us not to man," he said and Lando slumped back.
"I shouldn't be telling you this because Lily would kill me," Oscar started. "But she was planning on telling you and seeing if you guys could work things out but then the pictures of you and Magui came out and yeah."
"What do you mean pictures?" He asked. "We're just friends, nothing happened."
"Look all I know is that she was really upset and then decided that she didn't want to fix things anymore."
Lando was stunned. He had been with Magui once, and it was in a group. It's not like he could control that those were the pictures that were posted.
Y/n's POV
The race came and went, Oscar securing the win and you were in their hotel room getting ready for the celebration with Lily. Right now you could see her and Oscar whispering to each other, him looking over at you multiple times. Finally Lily came over fidgeting in front of you.
"Spit it out Lil," you said while applying lip gloss in the mirror.
"First I want to say that I didn't mention this earlier because you didn't want to talk about him and then it just never felt like it was going to change anything but after seeing you yesterday and how you reacted I think you should know," she said and you nodded for her to go on. "Nothing happened with that girl. She's one of Max's girlfriend's friends and they were hanging out in a group. I know the pictures looked bad but they weren't really anything."
You looked at her trying to figure out what to say and she continued.
"I know you still care about him. And I know he hurt you but you know how badly he feels about that. So I'm not saying you have to give him a chance romantically but don't let gossip that's not even true hold you back."
"it was much easier when I thought it was true," you smiled sadly at her and she pulled me into a hug.
"You'll figure it out."
You guys showed up at the club a little later, heading to the VIP section where pretty much the whole grid was. Being in Vegas overshadowed having a bad race for sure. Lando was talking with Max and when his eyes met yours you knew that he knew about the job. It all clicked why Lily felt like she had to tell you now. You looked away from Lando quickly following Lily to get a drink.
The next hour the tension between you and Lando grew considerably. The small touch on your back as he moved past you, him catching you staring multiple times, him hovering near you constantly...
Eventually you followed Carlos and Lily down to the dance floor and lost track of Lando. Oscar joined you a little later and you had the most fun that you had all weekend. You soon felt two hands on your waist and were pulled back into someone's chest to dance. You looked up to see Lando holding you, moving you to the music. Eventually you turned around in his arms, wrapping one arm around his neck. You were staring intensely at each other before he leaned in to whisper in your ear.
"Can we talk?"
You nodded and let him pull you off the dance floor, heading back to your section. He found a quiet section in the corner and sat down in an armchair pulling you down to sit on his lap, his arms resting comfortably around your waist.
"This is how you want to talk," you teased and he smiled.
"Easier to hear you like this," he replied before settling into an awkward silence.
"I know-" "I know-" You both started and then stopped amused and he cleared his throat.
"Congratulations on your promotion," he said and you looked down rubbing circles on his arm with your thumb as you mumbled thanks.
"I'm not with that girl," Lando said and you looked back up at him. "She's just a friend."
"I wanted to tell you about the job," you blurted. "But I thought you had moved on because like you said 'you could get any girl you wanted'". He winced as you said this.
"I was upset, and I know it's not a good excuse but you were breaking my heart," he admitted. "Maybe I could get any girl I wanted but that wouldn't matter if I couldn't get you."
You felt butterflies in your stomach and you wrapped your arms around him, resting your head in his neck.
"I'm still going to be far away from you," you mumbled into him.
"A two-hour flight is nothing compared to fourteen," he said bringing a hand up to brush through your hair. "Plus it'd be easier during the season to come stay with you during the in betweens."
"I guess you're right," you agreed and he pulled your chin to look at him.
"I guess I am," he said before he leaned in connecting your lips. You deepened the kiss shifting to where you were straddling him, holding his face in both of your hands. You pulled back resting your head against his, both breathing hard.
"Please come back to my room with me," he begged and you laughed. "Funny business this time."
"You are so lame," you teased slipping off his lap.
"You love it," he said.
"I do," you reply bringing him in for one more short kiss.
The two of you moved out of the section and towards the door holding hands and you smiled as you caught Daniel looking from you to give Max a fist bump.

January 11th 2024
Yeah its been a while since i updated. I haven't had the energy to if i'm honest, but here we go.
Hubby had his brain surgery end of November '23. The tumour they took out was a nasty one, somewhere between the size of a golf ball and a kiwi fruit. The wound has healed well with little to no side affects apart from some double vision, but he was checked out for that and it is a common after affect of brain trauma and was remedied with an eyepatch for a few weeks.
We met with the Neuro Oncology team at Royal Marsden Hospital in London. They are one of the best (if not the best) cancer treatment centres in the whole country, and we worked through a treatment plan.
Just before Christmas hubby was also cleared to have shoulder reconstructive surgery (he broke his shoulder bone in the original seizures back at the end of October '23). There was a really small window of time between it being enough time after the brain surgery that he could go back under general anaesthetic, but also enough time to mostly heal before he started Radiotherapy and Chemo, so just 5 days before Christmas hubby was in and out of our local hospital in a single day to have that surgery.
Christmas was a quiet and subdued affair. I also herniated a disk in my back the day Hubby had surgery (i was clearing the deep freeze out ready for grocery delivery), so it meant both he and I were dosed up to our eyeballs on strong painkillers for most of the holiday, and Little Dude spent the majority of the break either playing video games or building his new lego sets.
Two days before Christmas i also had to have emergency dental work (i had been grinding my teeth and had previously cracked a tooth) and whilst i was in the dentists office some utter idiot crashed into my car. That was the last thing i needed but i simply handed it all over to my insurance company (who are aware of my husbands situation) and they arranged a hire vehicle and sorted repairs.
Onto the start of 2024. This is the first week of Radiotherapy and Chemo for Hubby. He is getting very tired and fatigued already from the Radiotherapy, but thankfully no nausea from the chemo as yet, but that could change over time. He is scheduled for a full schedule of 6 weeks of this dual treatment, where we are having to visit Royal Marsden every day Mon - Fri for the six weeks, and then he also takes the chemo 7 days a week for the six weeks.
He'll then have 4 to 6 weeks 'off' treatment for his body to relax and recuperate, but will have scans and MRI's during that time to gauge what further treatment will be, but its likely to be just chemo but a stronger dose, but no radiotherapy. The chemo is to be 3 weeks off one week on, so a 4 weekly cycle.
The one thing we have discovered isn't done is prognosis's. When we first got to Royal Marsden we were shocked as they started talking about years, and explained that although it was a really nasty tumour, it was found very early and whilst it was still relatively small for its kind. They've discussed things like 'this years treatment plan then we'll look at next years', and also for a while Hubby was being considered for a clinical trial which candidates who have prognosis's of 12 months+ are only considered for. In the end he didn't meet the criteria (his cholesterol was too high). The Macmillian Nurses also have been talking to us about Mobility Car assistance schemes where you can get govt assistance financially and get an adapted vehicle on a 2 year rolling lease. All these timings are reassuring in one way, but worrying in another - we have no idea what the future holds and it really does cement in stone that our time is limited and could end any moment, and makes it very difficult to make any long term plans. You don't realise how much of your life is preplanned until you end up in this situation and aren't sure if you can book your kid onto the school residential trip in 5 months time.
Should anyone want the mundane daily day-to-day life updates you can follow me on my personal instagram @simone_with_an_e its generally a load of utter boring bollocks, but i try to keep it updated daily with updates when i can as its a lot easier to do 1 short paragraph than a big update.
For me my mental health is a little better now that i've had time to process Hubby's diagnosis and that he is getting treatment. There are still days or hours when i fall apart, and it could be something as simple as listening to a song on the radio as i drive back from dropping Little Dude at school and i realise the song would be lovely at his funeral. I end up having to pull over and have a cry whilst switching the radio off. I'm loosing weight and aging quickly, my hair is turning grey from stress and i realised i've aged about 15 years in the last 3 from stress. My appetite comes and goes, and things like red meat now turn my stomach and i can't digest it. But i also haven't drunk alcohol since the day before Hubby had his seizure back in October. I feel like i need to stay 'alert' in case i need to rush him to the hospital for something. I don't miss it as such, but I miss the ability to fully relax. Its hard to describe but i feel like at the moment i've lost myself and am just functioning to care for those around me, going through the motions as such.
Anyway, this has been a long update. I do still lurk here, you may see me pop up in notifications liking something, but at the moment i don't feel its right to start putting fandom stuff back on here yet. I do hope to get back to writing at some point. I miss it and the unfinished stories plague my mind as i have such lovely plans for story arc's and really want to finish them.
Take care all,
Schnauz

How Tim found out about the secret identity.
PART 2
Reverse Robin + Parallel AU PART 1 HERE
Since there is no blaring clue like the quadruple flip, Tim has his work cut out for him. Bruce is paranoid enough, just add a miniature Bruce. Batman and Batboy became like a true mythical urban legend.
Tim was actually 14 when he found out Bruce was Batman. Damian was 16.
After becoming Batboy, Damian joins the Justice League and works with a team of teenage superheroes like his own. So he rarely comes home or he's gone for a long time. Tim still visits the Manor, he talks with Alfred in tea times, and sometimes accompanies Bruce on golfing. He still has a fascination on vintage cars but he got bored watching the cars in the garage, that is when he took notice of the new Batmobile that was recently caught on news.
14 years old Tim, takes out his best camera and sets out into the night to take photos of the Batmobile.
The Batmobile becomes his newest obsession. One day, on his close up shot of the car he noticed something about the tail light bumper, normally you won't notice, but the company that produces it actually trademarked it.
W.E
Tim starts going into detective mode. This tail light is a model that WE never released. They were not released due to the fact that it doesn't fit the regulation of a proper rare light. Therefore, if someone is using those , Tim deducts that they must be from somewhere higher up. He started digging into the BODs of WE with his limited resources. He ruled out 13 out of 24. But it isn't still not good enough. He mopes around the vintage cars as he was about to give up when he saw Bruce Wayne lay down flat under a car, legs poking out.
"Umm, Mister Wayne..?"
Bruce slips out and greets him, "Oh, hi, Tim! Come to check out the cars again? "
"Yeah," Tim looks at Bruce covered in grease and says, "Bruce, you can call in a mechanic, you don't need to do it by yourself."
Bruce laughs from under the car, "Sometimes, it's better to do it with your own hand, son"
Tim shrugs and sits down. It is then he realised the rear bumper of the car is destroyed.
"How did this happened??" Because Tim know Bruce is not that irresponsible.
"Well, Mr. Smarty Pants Damian thought it would be a good idea to take his friends out on a ride after getting his permit. He's lucky he hit a lamppost or he better expects a lawsuit if otherwise."
"Oh, then maybe this need a proper mechanic to repair that."
Bruce rolls out and looks at him, "Look like we got two of the best here."
This make Tim grins and drops his bag as he starts to inspect the damage. His heart goes to the beautiful Ferrari that got damaged. Fortunately, this is but a dent, the tail light are broken so new ones need to be replaced.
"Bruce, you have extra tail lights?"
Bruce comes and checks," Yeah, it's in that box." Tim brushes some scratches and dirt ignoring the huge dent beside it, and when he got to installing the tail light, he paused. He looked down at his hand when he feels uneven ridges on the tail light.
Tim stares straight ahead in silence and quietly got back to work again.
When Bruce comes out to check how he is doing, Tim looks at him and asks," How did you get the WE tail lights that were never released? "
Bruce lets out a hearty laugh, " Well, I just keep some spare ones because they are quite useful even though they might not meet regulations."
"Can I have one?" Tim asks. And Bruce actually gives him one.
That was clue one. He suspects but never confronts Bruce or Damian.
Clue two was matching the dates of the debut of Batboy and Damian's absent and presence in Gotham and in California.
As well as Bruce absent in Gotham when Batman was spotted in Metropolis.
When Tim realised the dates actually matches up, he just didn't end it there.
Clue three was calculating Batman's height without the boots and cowl, analysing the body structure, he mannerism in pronouncing certain words and consonants.
But Tim has already decided.
Tim decides to live an ignorant life in bliss, as he does not want to be separated from his cars so soon.
Tim after feeling the tail light and Bruce came to him.

Rat Safety Fund
As a condition of getting my car repaired, I have to rehome my rats. My dad suggested dumping them outside on a golf course. I will not be doing that!! They will be going to Little Critter Crew, a fantastic small animal rescue in Eugene, Oregon that will foster or rehome *everyone* and give my most difficult rat, Kyle, a neuter as well.
I need transport. Rental car & gas will probably run me about $250. Anything extra would be going towards Kyle's neuter. Any little bit helps!

I'm a big fan of building commie blocks to ameliorate the US housing crisis -- and putting them in the public parks that were stolen from other communities to give colonisers some trees to look at -- but what policies should be enacted to get suburbanites into beautiful and efficient bedspace apartments with kitchens and washrooms shared by a floor?
As a good social democrat, I'm contractually obligated to prefer Red Vienna to your proper commie block. Short of a complete class revolution that completely upends the social hierarchy, a significant part of ensuring that social housing pulls off being "a living tapestry of a mixed community" is building it to middle-class standards (including aesthetic standards) so that people with the money to find alternatives don't all leave. Art Deco is a hell of a lot chic-er than the boring minimalist crap that luxury developers are getting away with these days.
Also, don't build them in parks: green space is not only important for environmental sustainability but also the health and mental health of working-class and poor communities who can't afford houses in the suburbs, and we should be encouraging in-fill development instead. (Build them on golf courses instead, because they are classist, invasive, artificial monocultures that do nothing for the environment.)
In terms of how to make suburbia more in synch with dense, sustainable social housing, there are a number of necessary changes:
Commuter rail: suburbs predate the car by a fair few decades, and originally sprung up along the routes of commuter rail lines. Well, it turns out that transit-oriented development and dense transit corridors go hand-in-hand: if you can build higher-density units near transit lines, people will use mass transit to commute, and if there are well-planned areas of higher density around major urban areas, the increased number of commuters can support more regular transit services.
Planning/zoning/ligitation revolution: as I mentioned in my student housing post, one of the major reasons why it's so hard to build affordable housing projects is that local NIMBY groups use every legal tool in the book to bury them. So there needs to be pretty comprehensive reforms of zoning regulations (banning single-family zoning, reducing set-backs and eliminating mandatory parking, getting rid of "unrelated persons" limitations, getting rid of building heights limits, etc.), standardization of the permitting and development approval process, streamlining of the public comment/hearing process and environmental review process for model projects, and extreme limits on litigation for model projects.
Financing reform: as I sort of imply in my Red Vienna section above, a big part of making social housing/public housing successful and avoiding replicating or increasing class and racial segregation is adhering to middle-class minimum standards. This has important knock-on implications:
you need to eliminate requirements for absolute lowest possible land costs (which restrict social housing to economically and socially isolated areas).
you need to raise allowable construction costs, so that you can achieve those aesthetic standards and avoid corner-cutting like smaller rooms and lower ceilings, single-thickness walls/floors/ceilings, no doors on cabinets or closets, cheap cladding and wiring and pipes and other building materials, low-quality insulation and HVAC, etc. Not only do middle-class folks notice this stuff and go elsewhere, but it's all penny-wise and pound-foolish, because cheap construction runs down faster which increases maintenance costs, and sometimes it just straight-up kills people.
you need to adequately finance maintenance, services, and amenities. This is crucial to keeping tenants with deeper pockets, but it's also another one of those things where penny-pinching is counter-productive in the long-run. The more you save on maintenance costs, the faster the buildings run down and the more expensive repairs you have to make. The more you save on services like superintendants and doormen, the more your tenants end up having to spend on handymen and the more you have to spend on police and repair costs. And so forth.
And there is a real potential here for all kinds of positive feedback loops: spending money on achieving higher standards of construction and operation means that you can hang onto and attract higher-income tenants, which means you can have sliding scale rents that cross-subsidize tenants and pay for higher construction and operating costs, and the poor and working class tenants who couldn't have paid for those higher costs and amenities on their own enjoy a "positive externality" for once.

Relationship: Sun/Reader
Rating: General
Summary: Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is the place to be for your wintertime getaway! Why go through the trouble of hauling the family out to a boring cabin or spend days in a car on a roadtrip only to be disappointed by the destination? At Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, you can have twice as much fun for half the cost* all while celebrating your winter holiday of choice with Freddy and the band!
*Actual savings is not guaranteed, Fazbear Entertainment LLC is not liable for financial loss or bodily harm while using its services.
Most people often assumed that as the year wore on into the winter season, the Pizzaplex would see an influx of visitors. It's a fair assumption for someone to make after all, given the general allure it held to the masses: the building itself was optimally heated against the bone-chilling cold (which was an obvious but important detail), and there was never a shortage of activities to keep even the pickiest child or begrudging adult entertained year-round.
Between the basic amenities of the arcade, food court, shopping center, daycare facilities and thensome, it was nearly impossible not to be unconsciously lured into spending countless hours (and dollars) within the enormous complex in some form—and that’s not even going into the main entertainment areas themed after the main cast of animatronic characters that are the literal face of the company.
However, that's… not entirely right. Not wrong, but not right either.
The Pizzaplex consistently has a solid showing of people—more than enough to keep it open most days of the year (save for the quarterly repairs and audits requiring it to be shut down to the public for at least 48 hours). But even the great name of Fazbear Entertainment LLC couldn't deny that as summer faded into fall, then chilled into winter, the average number of daily customers dropped somewhat significantly. Not enough to warrant laying off what few human employees still worked in the building, but certainly to be an apparent issue in their eyes.
Which is why—as far as you’re aware—they decided to incorporate the ‘warmth and wonder’ of the holidays into the decoration and activities within the Pizzaplex once October turned over to November.
'Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is the place to be for your wintertime getaway!' the new ad had read, which had quickly replaced almost every flier and trifold map in the span of one hectic post-Halloween evening. 'Why go through the trouble of hauling the family out to a boring cabin or spend days in a car on a roadtrip only to be disappointed by the destination? At Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, you can have twice as much fun for half the cost* all while celebrating your winter holiday of choice with Freddy and the band!'
Most of the activities featured were simply changes to the ones already in the facility—some were more significant like Fazer Blast becoming Fazer Frostbite, with snow-themed projectiles instead of laser guns, while others like Monty's Gator Golf were simply given a general winter makeover: fake powder snow covered the trees and ground, with the occasional snowman placed somehow in all the perfect spots to get destroyed by a kid's extremely lucky (and extremely overdone for mini golf) putting.
You didn't need to worry about laser arcades or the horrible aim of overzealous children—instead you were in charge of the daycare facilities—more specifically in this case, the decorations and aesthetic of the daycare itself. It wasn’t nearly as exciting or in-depth as other human-held positions in the Pizzaplex, but it kept you busy all the same.
Honestly, the job was quite a nice change of pace from the constant busybody work you were used to outside of the winter-themed antics, mostly office work that largely involved schedule and personnel management for the few human workers in the daycare. You’d almost like to call yourself a manager some days, but there was very little to actually manage—much of the facility was almost fully automated, hence your willingness to take on the extra responsibilities of seeing the entire room looking like a 'winter wonderland'.
So you find yourself standing at the center of the main area, between both the two huge jungle gyms and several decisions on what type of decorations looked best on them. The choices were a bit limited since you could only use what the supply department, but varied enough that the choice was important.
"Classic red and green?" you murmur to yourself, tilting your head to the side as if that would give you mental clarity. "Maybe blues? They sent over a lot of ice and snowflake decals..."
Another tilt of the head offered no greater revelation, leaving you more annoyed than anything else. Snowflakes? Candy canes?
Maybe you could work the decorating into some of the daily craft activities with the older kids... They could decorate trees or houses perhaps, or make paper snowflakes? It's not like most of the regular drop-offs didn't like to help out in some way, even if it was often pretend or made-up little jobs they could parade around like 'keep watch at the top of the jungle gym for monsters' or 'build the tallest lego mountain before mom and dad come to pick you up'.
A gentle hand on your shoulder is more than enough to startle you from your thoughts. A quick and slightly surprised glance reveals that it's only one of the daycare employees coming to tell you that their shift is almost done, so they were getting ready to head out for the evening.
"You're not staying late are ya boss?"
"Sure am," you say with a soft chuckle, rubbing the back of your head. "We need to have most of these decorations up before the start of next week, so I want to get a head start."
"Just yourself?"
You simply offer a noncommittal shrug, but the young worker simply takes it at face value and leaves to go grab his things in the back employee storage office. Soon after he leaves the daycare with a wave and a half-hearted joke about not being a salaried employee.
A few minutes pass, silence gently enveloping the daycare as other parts of the facility are powered down for the night. Normally it would feel just a bit surreal, given you were used to constant noise of music and screaming children echoing about, but there's something oddly warm about the half-done winter decorations already strewn up around you, even if you know that the initiative was hardly out of the goodwill alone of the CEO's heart.
The silence is broken by a sudden sound of heavy footsteps behind you; you turn, half-expecting to see your employee having forgotten one of his personal items and asking you to let him into the back room again, but you're pleased to see the Daycare Attendant animatronic—Sun, to be specific. He was practically radiating with joy as always, with a fresh sheen to his casing and a replacement of his normal outfit to be a bit more winter-adjacent.
"I thought you'd be out of commission for longer," the words are honest but gentle, and you can't help but give the bot a glance up and down. "The kids really did a number on you, I was... a little worried, actually."
Lie. You were actually quite a lot worried (more than was probably reasonable), but he didn't need to know that—not only were things already a tad awkward after the closet debacle a few weeks ago, but he'd also probably feel overly anxious about causing any sort of distress in another person, directly or otherwise.
The animatronic looked a bit bashful for a moment despite lack of facial features, but nonetheless lifted up his hands to wave away your concern.
"It wasn't that bad, I promise! The littlest ones always love to explore after all," he all but chirps in his over-enthusiastic tone, but it trails off after a moment as you stare him down. "... er, I mean, they didn't break anything important. Technically it was a wonderful experience for Jade, the new animatronic caretaker! She says she never realized that case plates could be pried off with a screwdriver, so she made sure to secure them extra-strong this time!"
He thumps a closed fist over his chest as if to prove it... though changes to policy after the incident ensured that the kids couldn't get into the emergency tool bag. All in all, it was just another good example of why little details were always the most important part of the job.
Nonetheless, he's fixed and in one complete piece, so that's enough for a smile to start tugging at your lips. Sun feels like he'd be smiling in kind if the expression wasn't permanent on his face—it wasn't hard to learn how to read his body language and tone of voice after a while.
"So what are you working on, star?"
The nickname is taken from what he calls the kids—little stars, respectively—and it never fails to bring heat to your face, even if you know he's simply acting on the personality he's supposed to have in the first place.
"We're putting up the winter decorations for the holidays." Your face turns back towards the jungle gyms, this time with a renewed sense of direction and a new question on your lips. "Would you like to help me with some of them, Sun?"
The animatronic all but dances in place with giddiness, answer obvious but he answers all the same, "Oh, absolutely! I wouldn't want to do anything else right now, we'll have so much fun doing that!" but he pauses after a moment, finally perching hands on his thin hips in an almost over-dramatic motion of curiosity. "... what holidays happen in winter?"
You blink at first in confusion, but quickly realize that he'd have no reason to know that information, so of course it wouldn't have been programmed or placed into the animatronic's data for reference—really goes to show the priorities of the company, honestly. Despite being a state-of-the-art piece of technology, Sun wasn't inherently connected to the internet; it was a security feature supposedly, both to keep his systems from getting a virus but also because...
Well, it would be quite the news story if one of the animatronics somehow stumbled upon some rather... inappropriate content that could mess with their personality matrices. And not that they haven't tried before; Monty was infamous for trying on multiple occasions to bulldoze through the firewall for clout alone. Sun and Moon, meanwhile, never asked or bothered much about it—though you did have a bad habit of letting them play around with your phone's hotspot data to watch youtube videos for new craft project ideas.
"There's a lot!" you finally reply, excited in a way so rarely felt around anyone else in the facility. "Off the top of my head there's Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas—Diwali is in November, and technically there's the Lunar New Year after January." Your eyes drift off to the side as you try to think a little harder. "I know there's some others too, but there's a lot to celebrate in the winter! I'm actually a bit happy we're able to like, actually do something special for the season."
"Oh my," Sun tilts his head to the side, practically radiating with awe at the information. "That is a lot! I would absolutely love to help you decorate—oh! Are you going to be staying late tonight?"
You nod, and one might think that the bot was told that the entire world had become nothing but sunshine and daisies by the way he jumped in place, clapping his hands together with a sharp metallic noise.
"A slumber party! We haven't had one in so long and— and think of all the fun we can have! We'll get sleeping bags and I can find the fake campfire, and maybe if we're super duper brave then Moon can come out and tell scaaaary stories!"
"Decorating first," you waggle a finger at him, "and then we can have a slumber party. I need to get the jungle gyms finished before tomorrow morning at the very least."
"Affirmative!" Sun gave you a dramatic salute before hurrying off, his voice echoing. "I'm going to get some extra craft supplies—just you wait, we'll have the best holiday decorations in the entire Pizzaplex!"
A sigh escapes your lips after that, though it's oddly not one of annoyance or exhaustion. Salary hours were notoriously horrible, but somehow you never quite felt like you had a bad time with it. Maybe the company is just what you need to keep from getting overwhelmed by it all.
And you know what? Candy canes would be the perfect theme for the daycare—that's definitely something you could make with construction paper and glitter glue... right?

It just flat out wouldn’t be a good fit for Lando to be at RB and idk how anyone thinks it would. I don’t think he’s mentally capable of being a number 2 driver (maybe in the future but definitely not anytime soon) and anyone who gets the other redbull seat is going to have to play second fiddle to max. RB needs someone like Daniel, Valtteri, one of the HAAS guys, etc who are content to just still be in the sport and snag an occasional win and can consistently score some points but not threaten Max
- 🤠
I feel like ultimately that’s true, he would end up being a second driver, but I think he’s got the talent to at least put up a championship fight once or twice. Yes, it depends what he wants out of his career, but I could see a driver of his talent, at a team like McLaren if they’re not giving him the car, being like, okay I’ll go over and try at RB.
The issue is, I think it would shatter his confidence beyond repair. I think there’s drivers that could handle being number 2 and not care, like ricciardo, I think there’s drivers that could be number 2 and give a single shit and just keep going for it, like George, and then I think there’s guys like Lando, who spin out mentally when they make mistakes. I think for sure Lando would see being two tenths off from Max as a personal failing, and he’d batter himself for it. And over the course of a season, he will convince himself he’s a bad driver.
Honestly I don’t think there’s a world in which Lando going to Red Bull is good for Max or Lando, it would only be good for Red Bull, until of course they’ve destroyed Lando then it’s on to the next.
I think maybeeeee at a push, if Lando works on his mental game, and they brought him in ‘26 (only if they KNEW max was out after ‘28) that could work for them. But putting him up again Max would just wring the life out of him.
Idk this all just came to me seeing the way he was after quali. You could hear on the radio he was so mad at himself and down on himself and it’s like, yeah try being Perez for a day man you’d crack. Poor guy. He’s so talented he needs to be kinder to himself. (I did side eye his “we should have been on pole” over the radio because what pole was he talking about not Max’s pole I know that for sure)
Also, people are always saying he fits with the Red Bull brand but to me he totally doesn’t? Like, yeah he’s young and cute and likes to party but I feel like Lando is so much more refined than the RB aesthetic lol. Like, Lando is so McLaren - British, upper middle class, history, tradition, golf, slots in effortlessly with the crowd. Whereas RB is Max’s ridiculous skinny jeans, work hard party always, full send, strobe lights pre quali, hated by everyone but themselves, kinda misfits but in a distinctly arrogant way.
Am I the only one who thinks RB is off brand for Lando?

Anger and concern among Volkswagen workers rise as potential plant closures loom | DW News
Germany — Europe's biggest economy — has been facing growing headwinds, and today workers at Europe's biggest carmaker — Germany's Volkswagen — learned their future could be on the line. Staff representatives announced on Monday that VW intends to close at least three plants in Germany, and slash tens of thousands of jobs. VW currently employs more than 100,000 workers at ten plants here in Germany, mostly in the country's north. So far, management has not confirmed the plans. But ahead of the next round of wage negotiations later this week, CEO Thomas Schäfer issued a statement hinting at deep cuts. If the company were to go ahead with this plan, it would be unprecedented in the German automaker's 87-year history. Such plant closures had been considered off the table until now.
P.S. No surprises here! This was to be expected after looking at how much dealers are asking for a VW Golf or VW ID.3...Almost nobody can afford to buy them, let alone operate or repair...badly overpriced and overengineered ICE vehicles or their EVs!
Take a look at the news archives when Tesla only produced about 75,000 electric cars and the development strategy for domestic EV manufacturers in China was released...! Look at how arrogant VW management, company employees and German politicians treated the new affordable electric car manufacturing technology back then in 2016/2017...! Electric cars are definitely not to blame for VW's problems, but only the wrong actions (dieselgate) or inaction of the company's management...

headcanon lists... Let's hear one for Chase, he could use some love
Yeehaw!
A HC list but it’s just Chase
Featuring snek
- Basically the eccentric fun uncle everyone likes. He gets along with pretty much anyone he meets, though his energy can be a bit much for some
- Chase got into reptiles because of his grandfather who also liked them a lot, especially snakes. Because of him Chase often caught snakes which were in his backyard. He did this so much that his parents got him a book to teach him which snakes were ok to catch and which ones weren’t
- He has been bitten by a venomous snake before. It happened when he was a kid, and it hurt like actual hell, though he recovered fine after being taken to the hospital by his grandpa. People are surprised that it didn’t steer him away from his interest in snakes at all, but Chase claims it was his fault since he probably scared the snake (this was the incident which lead his parents to get that snake book for him)
- Despite his risky stunts, he takes great care of his animals. The stunts he pulls are very controlled and there’s always a medical crew on standby just in case things go wrong
- I think Isadora is his daughter. Adopted or not, he loves her to bits even if she does try to get into enclosures she isn’t supposed to. He also promises that when she’s a bit older, she can have her own pet snake
- He’s great with kids and taking care of them. He’s been known to spoil Isadora and any younger nieces and nephews he has whether it’s giving them piggyback rides, snacks, or letting them tackle him when they see him
- He’s pretty level-headed and doesn’t like raising his voice at people when he’s mad, especially at kids, but if he does yell at you, then you seriously messed up (though if it’s at a kid he always feels bad after)
- Has a Southern accent, and can also be a bit loud. Nice for grabbing attention. People joke he might’ve been a town crier in a past life
- Smokie is the only animal Chase owns which lives in his home (the other animals live at the zoo). He’s got a large enclosure all to himself. Smokie is very calm and friendly, which is why Chase lets him cling to him when he goes to places. Though Smokie can also be a curious fellow so he might start licking anyone within shoulder distance
- Chase has quite a few cowboy hats, and has even gotten Smokie his own tiny collection of hats, and not just cowboy hats (like the Santa hat in the advent calendar)
- He’s hosted tons of holiday events, the fan-favorite being his Valentine’s Day event, where he will let people anonymously tell him about their ex’s (or really anyone they hate) and then he’ll name a dead rat after an ex and feed it to one of the reptiles
- Not a hc but I’m still waiting for when we get the other co-owner of the reptile zoo. Like, who are they to Chase? Are they just a friend…? Family member…? A wife…? Husband…? Who knows really (I’m betting on husband, I think he’s gay as hell)
- Though he handles potentially dangerous animals on a daily basis, he does have one fear which is anything bad happening to his loved ones. Cliche fear, but he really doesn’t have any besides that
- He’s savvy when it comes to repairing cars and trucks, though he also likes working with his hands in general
- He likes rock and country music
- Any sport or game which involves a ball he’ll probably like, except if it’s golf, he hates golf because it’s a rich-people sport. Sports/games he does like are soccer, tether ball, and stuff like that
- Likes hiking and rock-climbing. It’s always a good way to him to relax when he needs a break from work, and likes to take Isadora or any buddy of his with him
- Is friends with Budwin. They have an interesting dynamic together, since Budwin sleeps in as we know due to being chronically tired and Chase wakes up at the crack dawn. Honestly, if Budwin does wake up at an earlier time than usual, it’s probably because of Chase
