The invasive succulent Sedum acre (biting stonecrop, bird's bread, common stonecrop, country pepper, creeping Jack, gold dust, golden moss, Jack of the buttery, love and tangle, tangle tail, wall moss, wall pepper, creeping Charlie) can be useful for green roofing. It naturally produces a mat able to withstand drought and full sun, here water stress has caused a reddish colouring to the fleshy leaves. Yellow, star shaped flowers are produced from May to July and the nectar is popular with bees.

So I had a dream about warrior cats, specifically these two. They didn’t have names in the dream but I’m calling them Goldenmoss and Chestnutpaw. 

They started their training at the same time, both to be warrior apprentices, and were close friends. When they were almost warriors, the clan’s medicine cat died. There was no apprentice to take over, but Starclan told Goldenmoss in a dream that she was supposed to be the next medicine cat, so she switched and started learning herbs. Since there was no other medicine cat, she got her full name pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, Chestnutpaw failed his assessment and was held back as an apprentice for a while. He was pretty miffed about that, especially since his small size already made people think he was younger than he actually is.

But mostly he was upset because he’d always though he and Goldenmoss would be mates one day, but now they couldn’t because she was a medicine cat. He expected her to also be upset about this, but it turns out she had never been interested in him as a mate, that was just an assumption he made.

The whole dream was just them walking through the forest talking about their problems. Nothing really happened, but I thought it was kind of a neat story (kind of a combination of Bristlefrost/Stemleaf’s story and Yellowfang/Raggedstar’s story). Plus Goldenmoss was really pretty in my dream, I tried to recreate it but I didn’t really do it justice.

Jesse smiles and nods. “Oh I got dozens of them. Which kind ya after today, fella?” He questioned as he moves around the counter. He heads towards where he kept the stonecrop’s. Many different kinds and colors.

“I am a personal fan of them sedum oreganum. They look nice and add just a hint a color. Course if ya want straight green we got Jenny’s here and some goldenmoss somewhere ‘round here.” He gestures to the plants. Eyes moving from the colorful plump plants to the man. Trying to figure out if this was someone from around here or some stranger just passing by.

Jesse had gotten this shop after he had been given a second chance at life once his previous…job went under. Though he didn’t mind. He tended this shop with the woman who previously owned it and when she retired he took it over. Now he owned the one stop shop for all cacti related needs.

The door bell rang as someone walked in, greeted by a rather noisy tabby cat with a missing tail. “Howdy!” A voice calls out from the back. “Gimme just…a moment!” The man appears around the corner with a few small plants in hand. A smile on his face with a greying beard framing it. “Welcome ta Succulent Succulents. What can I do fer ya?”
