there's no light in the boathouse , moonlight barely penetrating the darkness where the door should be . eddie sits , back resting against the boat , with a cigarette in one hand & tin of cold beans in the other . sure , he could have warmed it up in the house , but what's the point ?

taking a long drag from the cigarette , he looks around at the emptiness . & then he blinks & there's someone standing in the empty doorway where there had been no one a second ago . ❝ what the f - ❞ eddie jumps to his feet , knocking his half drank can of beer over in his haste .

❝ who - where - ❞ cigarette is dropped & forgotten about while he grabs the rotten oar for a weapon . he's so fucked .

It's a light pull, and he doubts she even means it. Humans, curious things they are; so... unlike angels. They have something the angels will likely never understand -- the ability to change, to grow. To experience.

He pulls his wing lightly from her hands, only to sweep her up with it; there's an amused smile playing at his lips, and his wing curls close to keep her aloft. " There you are. Isn't that more comfortable, hm? "

"Auntie Liiiiiiiiiil!" Lottie called out as she looked around for @goldenliight. "I got you a birthday present!" Handmade presents were only cute until a certain age so she'd asked her aunt Maddie for help. "I even got a cupcake!" She grinned, setting it down on the counter. "You know it's not easy to shop so last minute, even in this city. Auntie Maddie makes it look so easy." She huffed.

Setting the gift bag down, she adjusted the gold and white tissue paper in the pastel pink bag, inside was a white dress with blue flowers. She'd practically begged her auntie Maddie to make it in the first place, so she hoped that she got the perfect gift. "Happy birthday Auntie Lil!" She grinned.

He hadn't noticed the trap until it was too late. There'd been a click, the sound of something hitting the ground and fire had erupted around him, the smell of burning oil filling the air. Someone had been chanting behind him and Castiel had turned to find a man, a familiar egg-shaped device in his hands. The energy streaming from the device hooked into his true form and tore him from his vessel, the body of Jimmy Novak slumping the ground like a puppet with its strings cut. There’d been a flash and he’d been thrown from the building, falling from the sky as an unusually bright meteor somewhere over the Sahara.

He might have been spotted, but it didn’t matter, not when Lilith was in danger. She was on her own, walking into a trap. He had to get to her before she could be hurt, had to let her know he was alive before she did something she’d regret. Taking flight, he landed near his previous location, his true form enveloping the building as he searched for the nephil, bright light bursting through the the windows. He spoke, the glass shattering at the sound of his true voice, a deafening screech to humans, to other angels a chorus of voices speaking in unison, soft and gentle.

”Lilith.”
