Hi!! Glad you are back!
I'm curious, if you had wings, what bird would you like them based on? I personally like hummingbird for Four because small + dangerous + adorable!
Warriors: I'm gonna let the residant bird man take this one.
Sky: I definitely agree, our Smithy would definitely be a hummingbird. More specifically, a Black jacobin.
Sky: Time would probably be a Golden eagle.
Sky: I have to go with a seagull or albatross for the Sailor.
Sky: Twilight's a bit harder... I'd probably say something like a Eurasian eagle owl.
Sky: The Legend-ary Grump would be a Roseate spoonbill. Or a goose.
Sky: Hyrule's probably the hardest... for now I'd say a Black-capped Chickadee.
Sky: If I wanted to match his theme, I would say peacock for The Captain, but I honestly think a Blue jay or a Peregrine falcon,
Sky: And finally Wild. He'd probably be a magpie.
Warriors: And you?
Sky: If I can't say Loftwing, I'd say Barn owl or dove.
#that was the most intense 20 minute research session of my life#not fully satisfied with some but eh its too late to worry about it now#also look up black jacobin picture they are so pretty#all the boys are in this one#might come back and tag them all but we'll see#linkeduniverse#linked universe#lu warriors#lu sky

(Some of his skin is black so clicking on the picture might be a better ideas-)
SO UM THIS IS MY GUY HIS NAME IS MAYAN
He’s a god actually and the god of companions and birds and stars too
He’s also the Father of the first fairies
Naturally, he’s Hylia’s brother as well as being Fierce’s brother too as well as the golden three. Can’t decide if he’s older or younger than them
I like to say that he was the reason the hero’s weren’t alone before they met their respective Zeldas
Like, Hylia was forging the Goddess Sword and Mayan was like, “You’re going to send a boy out to fight our brother, Demise, and have him alone the entire time other than whatever else you’re planning?”
Hylia was like, “You’re probably right. What do you suppose I do?”
Mayan: “Give him a guide. That way he isn’t burdened with this fate alone.”
That’s how Fi happened. And then, in most reincarnations, Link has a companion.
Midna wasn’t really his fault, but he was able to convince her to work with Link in anyway she could because they would both need each other in the end.
The reason why Link didn’t really have someone in botw is because people didn’t really worship him much, so he lacked much power. So, with the little power he had left, he staked King Rhoam’s spirit to the Great Plateau so that he might be able to help even for a little bit. Mayan let go of Rhoam’s soul after Rhoam explained everything to Link.
He makes his home in the midst of the Lost Woods, forever keeping his children safe by the fog surrounding and only letting those who deserve it to survive their trip to the “cursed” forest.
Or he’s in a cave in Satori Mountain, chilling with blupees. I also have this thing where blupees are a type of fairy. So that being said, blupees would technically be his descendants too.
He also rarely visits his daughters, the Great Fairies, but when he does, he’s there for days and many Hylians call them “Spottings” but he doesn’t care too much.
He also has a hawk that follows him, as it is the closest surviving animal to his original symbol, the Loftwing. He laughs sometimes when he sees that the Hylians used a Loftwing crest to represent his sister.
So yeah, here he is to the 8 people that cared<3
@trippygalaxy @vio-starzz @whiteperle3 @lunawolfiefoxy @mushr0oms-and-m0ss @thenmichael @shadowlinktheshadow @soniayonce @isasan347 @treasure-goblin um I don’t know who voted so I’m just guessing here

Happy belated birthday @luna-lovegreat !!! Here’s the Sky fluff I promised!
So sorry this took me awhile to finish!
—————————
“Just how strong is the bond between a loftwing and a Skyloftian?”
Sky has been asked that question quite often since plummeting to the surface. Even more so after he ventured from his timeline. He never truly knows how to reply. How can he explain their relationship? How can he put into words the utter exhilaration of soaring atop your loftwing?
From what he has observed, people usually place platonic love — and especially the platonic love between human and beast — somewhere beneath both romantic and familial, as though it is an inferior thing. As though it can never reach the same heights and depths as the others. The same precious worth. But Sky knows differently.
The love a loftwing and their rider share is like nothing else. As priceless and unbreakable as a diamond.
So, when, finally, a portal spits the heroes out in his era, Sky is overjoyed.
He can see Sun for the first time in forever, wrap her in his loving arms, hold her close and breathe her in, and whisper everything he’s wanted to tell her all these long months. He can see his friends, his family, the place that will always be his home, no matter how far he travels or what monsters he battles.
And —
He separates from Sun, runs to Lofty as the bird lands in a rush of wind and feathers. A grin splits his face and it feels good to smile after everything, so, so good…
— and he can reunite with his loftwing.
“Wow!” Wind gasps, mouth agape. “So, that’s a loftwing?”
“Close that mouth of yours before you swallow a bug,” Twilight teases, setting a hand on the sailor’s shoulder. His lips quirk up in a smile. “He’s beautiful, Sky.”
Lofty preens beneath the praise, ruffling his feathers and throwing back his head. Sun chuckles, and Sky sends her a grin.
“He is, isn’t he?” He sighs, leaning his forehead against Lofty’s beak. The next words leave his lips in a whisper meant only for the glorious animal before him…though if the beautiful woman standing close beside him hears he won’t mind. “I missed you so much, Lofty.”
A low trill emanates from the bird.
“He has missed you too,” Sun murmurs. “I’ve taken him out for a few flights to keep his wings limber. But you know he truly flies for no one except you.” She cocks her head, a grin on her lips. “You should take him out for a flight.”
He turns to her, a question in his eyes. It’s been so long, after all. He feels as though he hardly has enough time to catch up with them both. Much less Gaepora and Groose and everyone else….
“Are you sure, Zel?”
Sun nods and the breeze lifts her golden locks. “Go on, sleepyhead. We’ll have all the time in the world to spend together once you get back.”
Sky breathes in deep.
That’s right. They have time now. For the first time in a while, they have time.
He raises his eyes to Lofty’s, excitement alighting in his chest.
“You wanna go for a flight, Lofty?”
Feathers fly as the bird straightens, shaking himself out. His proud cry reverberates around the space.
Sky leans over, presses a kiss to Sun’s lips. And then, surrounded by the echoes of oohs and awws and ews that sound from his brothers, he climbs atop the loftwing’s back and is off.
The sky is a brilliant blue today. And while it’s always a brilliant blue in Skyloft – has been since he was born – Sky can still appreciate its splendor.
Even the brightest, most joyful heavenly display in another Hyrule cannot measure up to the plush clouds and soaring ceruleans of his home. And as Lofty climbs higher and higher, he feels a wide grin stretch his lips.
It is wonderful to be home.
He had known that he missed it – this little island full of vibrancy and life. The longing had eaten at him during the long nights and dogged at his steps through their arduous journey. But he supposes he had suppressed it to an extent — denied it even — if only to keep going. If only to keep from crumbling beneath the fear that always captures him when he sets foot on firm, grounded earth.
The fear that he will never again take to the skies.
But now as Lofty turns his grand body in a barrel roll and his sailcloth lifts and the wind sings in his ears and fills his nostrils with exhilarating freshness, those dark feelings are miles away.
Lofty pauses abruptly at the tail end of the trick. Then, he dives, plunging downward so suddenly that Sky’s stomach plummets along with him. His grin grows wider even as the brisk air steals any moisture from his mouth. He’ll be choking later, more than likely. But he is used to it by now.
A dry throat is a small price to pay.
Lofty shoots up, goes down again. Another pointed spin takes out a drifting octo. Sky’s echoing whoop turns to almost giddy laughter.
“Having fun, sleepyhead?” Someone calls from his right. Sky looks up just in time to catch sight of Sun streaking towards him. Her loftwing flips upside down as they soar over his head. Her delicate fingers reach for his and for a split second, the world seems to slow.
“Sorry,” she says as their fingers brush in the ghost of a caress, “I couldn’t resist joining you.”
Lofty lets out an eager call of welcome and Sky smiles.
“I’m glad you did, Zelda.”
She smiles and the world seems to grow a little brighter.
It always does when she’s around…
“How about a race, then?” She inclines her head toward the minuscule forms standing on the edge of Skyloft. “They’ve already cast bets.”
Sky chuckles. “All in favor of you, I’m sure.”
She doesn’t reply. But her smile grows just a touch larger, a hint of mischief in it.
Sky shakes his head.
He’ll admit it hurts a little to be betrayed by his brothers in such a way. They’re right though.
The only person who could ever beat him in a fair race was Sun.
“Alright.” His grin is more fierce now, teeth bared in playful determination. “You’re on!”
Yes, he thinks as they streak toward the designated finish line, the tips of their loftwings’ wings just touching, the bond between a loftwing and their partner is strong. As strong as the love he feels for Zelda. As strong as the love he feels for his brothers.
His family.
And maybe in it’s own way…even stronger.
#hope you don’t mind that some zelink found its way in here#I can never resist skyward sword zelink lol#anyway I hope you enjoyed!#and had a wonderful birthday :D#trin writes#linked universe#linkeduniverse#lu sky#lu sun#lu chain#fluff#zelink

[ID: A lineup of the artist's designs for 12 Links. In order of height, from left to right, their nicknames are Tiny, Mask, Sky, Four, Shadow, Sailor, Tracks, Fairy, Glam, Slate, Vet and Rancher.
Tiny (Minish Cap) is 21 and uses he/she. He’s very small and slight. She has a healthy tan, hazel eyes, and wavy, light blonde hair tucked into the classic green windsock hat. He wears the Roc's Cape, a green dress in which the skirt mimics the forest minish’, black leggings, light brown gloves and boots, and a black waist apron. A golden chain strapped to her belt holds kinstones and a charm that resembles Ezlo. He holds up a mallet in his left hand. He has a resting bitch face.
Mask (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask) is around 12 and uses they/them. They're short and stocky with baby fat still on their cheeks. They have light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and poofy straight blonde hair that goes just past their chin. They wear a Kokiri tunic and boots, a baldric across their chest, a joy pendant and silver earrings. They have the Kokiri sword strapped to their hip and hold the Fierce Deity mask in their left hand, looking off to the side curiously.
Sky (Skyward Sword) is 20 and uses he/him. He's short and stocky, built of healthy fat and muscle. He has light skin, blue eyes, and slightly curly, light brown hair that frames his face and goes to his shoulders. He has a green tunic and gold chainmail, as well as pants, boots and fingerless gloves. His sailcloth is pinned over his right shoulder and his loftwing's feathers are tucked behind his left ear. He has no visible weapons. He has an easy going smile on his face despite being tired.
Four (Four Swords Adventures) is 18 and pronouns match fronter(s). Four is on the thinner and shorter side. Four has light skin, grey eyes, and a short blonde bob pulled back with a dark grey headband. Four wears a white-and-grey four-panel tunic embroidered in gold with the elements and the hilt of the Four Sword. Said blade rests on Four's hip. Four wears a dark grey longsleeve shirt and pants with boots. Four gestures with a hand, looking a bit scandalized and annoyed.
Shadow (Four Swords Adventures) is about 18 and uses he/it. He’s skinny and a bit short. It has light, purplish skin, red eyes, and scruffy purple hair tied in a low ponytail. It has a scar on its left cheek resembling a shattered mirror. He wears a black hood over his black, four-panel tunic, pants and boots, the hood tip flickering with dark magic. It floats with a hand on his hip, the other alight with a dark flame. He smirks, showing off a fang.
Sailor (Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass) is 17 and uses he/it. He’s lean and short. It has light brown skin, brown eyes, and very short curly, light blonde hair tucked into a green bandana. He wears a cyan tunic with the crayfish of his casual wear, a green sash, russet pants and sandals. The Phantom Sword hangs on its hip and it wears various gold jewelry, including a joy pendant. He brandishes the Wind Waker with a confident grin.
Tracks (Spirit Tracks) is 14 and uses she/they. She's a little chubby and of average height. She has brown skin, dark brown eyes, and a short golden bob that frames her cheeks. They wear an engineer’s uniform, stained with soot and oil, a red bandana tied around her neck, and gloves and boots. Her right sleeve is tied just under the shoulder due to her amputated limb. The Lokomo Sword is on their right hip and a chain of keys hangs from their belt. She adjusts her hat with an easygoing grin.
Fairy (Legend of Zelda 1986 and Adventure of Link) is 18 and uses he/fae and mirror pronouns. He’s skinny and a bit lean. Fae has brown skin with freckles, dark brown eyes and chin-length dark brown curls. Faer bangs are clipped out of faer face with barrettes. He wears a short, dark green poncho with 3 rounded points, the back two mimicking fairy wings. Underneath, he wears a green tunic, an orangish-brown longsleeve shirt, and brown shorts and gloves. Fae goes barefoot, faer legs exposed with several bandages and scars on them. The Magic Sword and an empty potion bottle hang from his hips.
Glam (A Link Between Worlds and Triforce Heroes) is 22 and uses he/him. He's fat with some muscle. He has light brown skin with vitiligo and stretchmarks, red eyes and short, curly blonde hair with brown roots, going just past his chin. He wears a long, pastel green dress under a brown and pink apron stained with paint. He wears simple boots and Ravio’s bracelet. He holds the skirt of his dress with his right hand and smiles.
Slate (Breath of the Wild) is 20 and defaults to they/them and is also genderfluid. They're quite skinny and lean, favoring speed over strength. They have light skin with lots of visible scarring, cyan eyes, and long, choppy, dirty blonde hair in a braid that reaches their waist. They wear the champion's tunic, a hylian hood, pants boots and fingerless gloves, and the Sheikah Slate on their hip. They rest their hand on their other hip and give a closed-eyed smile.
Vet (A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, and Link’s Awakening) is 24 and uses she/her. She's a bit skinny, taller than most of the others, with plenty of muscle hidden by baggy clothing. She has warm light skin, purple eyes, and a short pink bob with sidelocks that touch her collarbone. She wears a long green dress, pegasus boots, a brown longsleeve undershirt, and a purple scarf. She has a messenger’s bag over her shoulder, the tempered sword on her hip, the pendants of virtue on a necklace, and various gold jewelry. A decorated cane hangs on her back for when she needs help walking. She has a hand on her bag, looking over her shoulder with a flat face.
Rancher (Twilight Princess) is 19 and uses he/him. He's tall and has very strong arms. He has light brown skin, hazel eyes, and reddish-brown hair that's shorter in the back. He wears an altered version of the ranching outfit, with the green sleeve removed, pants traded for a skirt, and sandals traded for sturdy boots. He has no visible weapons. He looks a bit rugged, with several visible scars (thanks to exposing clothing) and sharp teeth, but is fairly welcoming and friendly in demeanor. He has a hand on his hip and a piece of barley in his mouth. End ID]
updated links meet au!! i didn't touch it at all in the past year but i wanted to start making stuff for it. unfortunately the old stuff was a bit outdated so i updated them
for a long list of personal hcs canon to the au, hit the cut!
Tiny
agender, likes girls (in a relationship with zelda)
talks aloud
was 12 during minish cap, which took about a week
stopped growing at age 12 (during her adventure) due to transformation side effects
resting bitch face and flat effect. tends to come off as apathetic but he cares A Lot
a large part of her magical ability comes from minish magic (transformation side effects)
when he shrinks, he becomes a minish (transformation side effects). this is not what usually happens but he used the portals enough that it did happen
his mallet is charmed to change sizes from something he can use in the forge to a weapon to bludgeon monsters with
has surpassed her grandfather as royal smith
incredibly wary of dark/black magic
Mask
enby and pan (currently has a crush on malon)
signs
was 10-17 for ocarina of time, and got yeeted right back in time to when it started post oot. maybe 6 months later, they set out in search of navi (majora's mask). hyrule warriors also happened about a half year later
common pattern is they get plopped back where they were before the adventure
they aren't very sure of their age and tend to age slide due to this—when asked, they go by physical age (this is why they are roughly 12)
skittish about forming relationships because they fear they'll be forgotten again. they try to act like a little brat to ward people away (surprise: it doesn't work)
as they chill out, they're less hostile but they're still a trickster
transformation side effects really freak them out + they'll try to “fix” it
has an incredible internal clock
Sky
trans and bi, in a polycule with groose and zelda
talks aloud
17 during skyward sword, which took about 10 months
his crimson loftwing isn't “special” bc that's kinda silly (to me). her name is epona
“i miss my bird, tails. i miss her a lot”
refuses to carry a sword around because wielding anything but fi feels strange. he is still the best at swordplay out of all of them, even if he's a bit rusty
the mom friend—but not overbearing, more like he'll fight someone to the death if they hurt his family
nerve damage in his right hand from catching lightning. tremors, pins and needles, etc. doesn't shake when holding a sword, oddly enough
chronic fatigue, narcoleptic
Four
all four speak aloud
16 for four swords adventures, took a little under a year. four and zelda revive shadow when they're 18
four is plural and is not usually in the same body, four does it sometimes for masking purposes (four's not too great at it)
the fronter wears their elemental charm
red (any pronouns, genderqueer, likes girls) is energetic and mischievous. he has the best emotional intelligence of the four. situational arsonist. likes to cook and bake. volunteers at lonlon ranch and dates malon
green (he/him, agender, likes boys) is good at taking charge within the group and is good at management, but sucks when it comes to interpersonal conflict and gets self conscious. he's very aware of his strengths and flaws, and acts accordingly. likes to carve wood, train, and ride epona
blue (she/her, trans girl, lesbian) is headstrong and knows her strengths. she likes to joke and tease but sometimes can go a bit too far. likes to sew, train and spar. dating erune
vio (they/them, nonbinary, greyaroace) is stubborn and dislikes not getting their way. they like to plan and come up with ideas or experiments, which are either great or horrible, no inbetween. they like to read and tend to plants.
Shadow
gendervoid, greyaro pansexual (in a qpr with zelda)
talks aloud
age is a bit questionable. are you 18 if you were mirrored from someone who was physically 16, then you died when you both were 17 and got revived? who knows
recently revived from the dark mirror! he's more or less a hylian now, but with dark magic. not as powerful as during fsa
is really, really close to his links and/or four. they tend to sleep in a dogpile
wears a cloak to protect itself from the sun
usually hostile and assumes the worst of people. conversely, gets attached very easily to people who show it kindness
Sailor
agender, aroace (considering a relationship with tetra)
will cycle between speaking aloud and signing
12 for wind waker which took a little over a year, 15 for phantom hourglass, hyrule warriors hasn't occurred yet
loves to entertain children with dramatized tales of his adventures
still carries aryll's telescope as a good luck charm
loves to brag about how cool its sister is
recycled the hero's tunic into a sash and bandana so it'd actually wear it
replaced the center gem of the joy pendant with a pirate stone! likes to lend stones out when they separate into groups
congenital hard of hearing. was shy as a kid, especially due to widespread sign language being lost with the great flood, but eventually learned how to sign and speak aloud. very good at lipreading. now will never shut up. likes to talk loudly and hear his own voice
Tracks
demigirl, lesbian (dating zelda)
signs. it takes a bit longer because some signs are unavailable
was 12 for spirit tracks, took half a year
enjoys coming up with outlandish tales on how they lost their arm
generally pretty open and friendly, except for when they're tired or pissed off by someone
sees ghosts
Fairy
agender, aroace
signs
was 12 for legend of zelda 1986, which took a year and a couple months, and 16 for adventure of link which took a year
has some fairy blood, when he left calatia at age 10 fairies helped guide him and taught him a bit about magic
shy sweetheart at first, but when fae opens up to you fae likes to play minor pranks and jokes (he, sailor and mask like to team up on pranks)
very good at foraging and other various wildlife skills, yet gets lost even with a map in front of him
Glam
trans and gay (currently single)
tends to speak aloud, signs when exhausted
was 17 for link between worlds, which took a year, and 19 for triforce heroes, which took half a year
is a blacksmith. does everyday supplies like nails, tools, utensils, etc, but can also craft weapons if necessary. forges all his own weapons
he and tiny compare blacksmithing techniques
paints and does art in his off time. it was originally a coping mechanism he, zelda, and the sages attempted, but he ended up really enjoying it and continued afterwards
the stereotypical camp gay. likes ‘feminine’ things like makeup, fashion and skirts
lives with ravio + is married to him for tax benefits/citizenship reasons. they're gay but not for each other
Slate
genderfluid, pan (defaults to they/them, in a qpr with zelda)
signs, uses the slate as augmentative/alternative communication when necessary
was (1)17 for botw, which took over a year and a half
likes to talk about their amazing friends
had plenty of time to confront their trauma and is proud of their land and people for returning after the calamity
knows every nook and cranny of their era's hyrule
doesn't know the difference between edible and poisonous. still manages to make delicious food that no one throws up later
totk is semi-canon, as in a lot of the setup is established, but the actual game events haven't occurred
Vet
trans, lesbian (grieving marin)
usually signs unless she has something to say and nobody's listening to her
kinda bitter due to grief, doesn't talk much unless she's being a know-it-all
hoarder. has lots of duplicate items or items with the most ridiculous purposes
wears marin's necklace under her tunic
as she deals with her trauma, she becomes more animated and sweet. it's not just marin she has to work through, though
also, marin is from the adult timeline just after the great flood and believes link has died. oops!
Rancher
trans, straight
speaks aloud
was 17 for twilight princess, which took a year and a half
still a bit hung up on midna leaving
closeted emo
trying really, really hard to fit into his lifestyle pre-adventure but is failing
knows he looks threatening so he tries to tone it down. it doesn't work all the time, especially when he gets angry
initially hated to leave ordon again, but he finally feels good again so he's conflicted
midna taught him her twili abilities towards the end because she knew she'd have to leave. he's still pretty good at them
sharp teeth and sharp nails (transformation side effects)
note about hyrule warriors: due to its status as not canon in the timeline but the appeal of time shenanigans, i've decided it has a tenuous place in the timeline. it's schrodinger's cat—it happened and a lot of the people involved in the war remember it, but it caused a time paradox, it's not written in the history books, and most peoples' memory of it was erased. hyrule warriors link will not be showing up but he may be mentioned at times.
#doodles#dey's links meet au#dlm#legend of zelda#loz#tiny dlm#mask dlm#sky dlm#four dlm#shadow dlm#sailor dlm#tracks dlm#fairy dlm#glam dlm#slate dlm#vet dlm#rancher dlm#long post#1/27/24#i wrote such a long id lol oops#note: mask's baldric is backwards#i mirrored them when i realized their sword was on the wrong hip and didn't fix the baldric

I don’t know what this is but it made me laugh
Malon: Hon, you have to address it. I guarantee you he won’t.
Time: Malon, I’m not sure pushing him—
Malon: You remember how you were? You still made the active choice to respond, yes, but I did have to reach out to you first.
Time:…True. You know I’m not good at this, though.
Malon: But you have to try. They all look up to you.
(Later)
Time: We… we need to talk.
Power: ??
Time: I don’t know what’s happened on your journey. Many of us don’t discuss our adventures too much. But clearly it still haunts you, and we need to address how it’s affecting you.
Legend: OH MY FARORE FINALLY
Sky, looking at Legend: 😒 Talk about the golden loftwing calling the standard flamboyant.
Legend: Wh…what does that even me—
Power: Am I not doing my part, sir?
Twilight, gently: You are. Of course you are, but—
Power: I promise I’m fine.
Warriors: HA! Oh this one reminds me of myself.
Power: No, really. I needed this. I function best in crises. I can’t function outside of them, really. This is the most useful I can be.
Legend: HECK YEAH
Four: Are you rooting for or against him, veteran 🤨
Legend: I can agree with a sentiment, you know
Twilight, sighing: We’ll unpack that later.
Time: Eh, well, you see, you’re not always going to be in—
Power: I’ll find others.
Wind: Let’s MAKE others! >:D
Time: *deep inhale*
Hyrule: Why make one, there’s always a crisis to be found? Someone’s causing problems all the time.
Twilight, looking at Mystery: Does the other adult in the group want to pitch in?
Mystery: I have no such issues. I live by myself out in the woods, wandering from place to place.
Hyrule: Sounds like my kind of life ☺️
Mystery: Can’t be outside of crisis mode if your life itself is a crisis
Warriors, facepalming but also laughing: This sounds just like me right after the war. Artemis had to reel me in.
Sky: *oh my Hylia what is wrong with everyone :|*
#I just had the thought “I function best when I’m in survival mode I just need another crisis”#“I did great during COVID”#And then was like huh…that’s probably not good#And then this conversation happened in my head LOL#What tag did I have for this#Uhhh#crossed links#Maybe#ill figure it out#I need to get another crisis job lol#Anyway they’re all idiots

Tattoo headcanons, just things that would be fun to give the boys—
Wind: Tetra once convinced him to let her practice her tattoo technique on his right foot, so he got a really janky little sword there. She went in later to cover up her mistakes once she'd gotten better. He definitely wants more, eventually.
Warriors: he has his military designation tattooed on his forearm. He got a couple tiny badges added for distinguished service and promotions. He doesn't mind it and doesn't really want anything decorative.
Time: he and Malon got a little tipsy on their honeymoon and got matching horse tattoos on their shoulders. They're pretty small, but not bad in terms of art. He's a little embarrassed by it, but he definitely insinuates that that tattoo is as mysterious as his facial markings.
Wild: he got a symbol of each of the Champions done in their native styles down his right arm, their weapons. After his adventure, he also got a stylized Silent Princess for Zelda. He's considering expanding all of them into a fancier design.
Four: two half-kinstones, one on the inside of each wrist. The golden one matches the half that Zelda has, and changes color when he splits. The black one doesn't have another half. (...yet, perhaps?)
Sky: stylized red-and-white Loftwing feathers under his ear. Groose also somehow convinced him to get a Kikwi on his shoulder. Sun thinks it's cute.
Twilight: he always wanted that goat head design that's on the Ordon shield, but after getting permanent marks on his face due to his adventure, he's a bit wary of that now. He still thinks he might get it someday, but it'll take a minute.
Legend: he doesn't want any tattoos. He's close to breaking down at Fable's pestering, though, and might get a golden band around his wrist. He knows that if he does, though, he might go a little crazy with them—he'll also want a pink band, maybe a single hibiscus flower, a purple band, red and blue ones... He has too many people and places he wants to remember, and an artist's eye.
Hyrule: he has one on his hand in my one fic (Loftwings Stand for Freedom) but that's really specific to my AU. Nah, usually this boy doesn't even know what a tattoo is. He has a birthmark on his thigh and the Triforce on his hand, and legitimately thinks that some of those marks are just fancy birthmarks.

Hello!
May I request a Yandere! Sky x Female! Reader? How she tempts him away from Hylia on Skyloft? Plus with a 18+? 😉😄
Have a wonderful day/night! Stay safe and healthy!

You absolutely can, Darling! Stay safe and healthy as well, drink your water too!
This is such a delicious idea. I'm ngl, this kinda got away with me bc I got on the idea of Sub! Sky whimpering and just being total putty during a good all sloppy toppy and I just- yeah.
I'm tagging all NS*W on this blog as #Cindersins in case you all were curious!
There is 18+ smut so MDNI!
Smut CW: Blowjob, Sky Whimpers, and cries. Just a little. As a treat.
He had seen you in passing a few times. A few times seemed to be all he needed. Because those few times were all that was needed for him to fall absolutely head over heels for you. Call him a hopeless romantic, because that was what he was. Hopeless, for you.
It wasn't hard. He found himself comparing you a Loftwing at times. Dastardly evasive when you didn't want to be found, bright and exuberant when you did, and gloriously beautiful. Full of life and the spark freedom that he sometimes saw in Crimson's own eyes. Perhaps you were a Loftwing's spirit locked in a Hylian's shell. It would make sense.
What made even more sense with that analogy was the fact that Loftwings were soul partners. One part of his, admittedly, shattered soul. Sky had seen a lot of things in his travels, things that wore him down to his core. That broke him apart into pieces, free for the taking by the right person. One would always reside with Crimson, but the others? They were yours. All yours. Free for you to pluck and give as you saw fit.
All of them were for you.
Always for you.
His problem lied, however, in where he resided. Skyloft was where he was born and raised, trained to be a knight, where Zelda and Groose and those he once saw as relevant lived. You lived down below. Among the trees and wildlife, scaling mountains as if you put them there yourself. Hiding among caves and dwelling near rivers with the softest patters of feet. You were of the Hylians below, he was not. But he would fall for you. Jump from the edge of Skyloft, leaving everything behind for you. In a heartbeat. You were tempting him with your luscious curves and fluttering lashes, eyes that reflected the stars and moon above you. He would tumble from grace, from the position of Hylia's chosen hero, if it meant you would look at him that way he saw you looking at the night sky.
Full of nothing but pure innocence and awe.
He ached to just hold you, cherish you, sings your praises to the Golden three themself just so they could see you in half of the same light he saw you.
Perhaps that was why he found himself gently easing forward. Sun had warned him of the Earth dwellers. How they were to be of no use to him, not when she could have everything up in Skyloft. Up with her, Hylia incarnate herself, but she was a damned fool to not see the worth you provided. How your natural glow, just soft enough to create an effervescent halo around your form, was more than enough for him for a thousand lifetimes. It was soft and comforting, like a dimming fireplace in a cabin as the occupants lie in each others arms, content with each other's presence. Rather than Sun's own. Her's was bright and intruding, something you would have to shield yourself from before taking it in. Like a sudden crack of lightning, hot and sudden. It was one of the many things that differentiated the two of you. One of the many things he favored and reasoned was something worthy of eternal damnation.
Honestly, he simply couldn't help himself when he saw you out in the open. Nothing but gentle movements and anoetic simplicity. Of course, your eyes landed on him right away. Of course, he offered his name, introducing him to you in a way that would paint him in such a way he couldn't be a threat no matter how one looked at it.
And it worked. It took time, so, so much time, but he got close. Close enough you could sink your perfect little claws into and drag him into whatever depths you deemed suitable. And he fell. He fell hard.
Right into your hands, exactly where you wanted him.
A whimper left his lips as your hands toyed with his shaft, gently dragging up and down as your drool dribbled over the ruddy head of his cock. It gleamed with both spit and pre-cum, which bulbed out in clear pears before you were lapping it up. He couldn't even begin to describe the sensation of your tongue, firm and sure, swiping around his dick before you were enveloping the tip with your mouth.
Sky jolted with a start, hands flying to your hair, weaving between the strands as pure euphoria shot through his system. Igniting his nerves in a hit of pure adrenaline as every one of them sang in delight. His toes curled within his boots as they kicked and dug at the dirt, aching for some sort of traction as you refused to part. He yelped low in his throat, trying to swallow his cries when you bobbed further. Every part of him curled in a tight coil, curling tighter and tighter, nearly snapping before you popped up with a lewd suck. You licked your lips, tongue darting out to wet your plump lips, painting them with a shiny sheen as you stared him down, eyes narrowed like a pure temptress.
The hand returned, squeezing right above his balls and cooling any premature bust. His eyes burned at the lose of control, but not for the reasons you may have thought. No, they were tears of pure, unaltered adoration. His fall may have been great, but it was worth it. To have you, his newly crowned Goddess, on your knees before him, deeming him worthy enough to bless with your presence. What he wouldn't do for you, to you, with you. You merely had to ask.
You returned your mouth to his leaking cock, starting from where your fingers continued to squeeze and leading back up to the head of his cock. You pressed a final parting kiss to the head, looking up at him through your lashes.
He cried out in agony, bucking into your hand against his own wishes. He wanted to paint your pretty face a divine white. It was otherworldly as it was, and to mark it had to be a sin beyond simple punishment, but to have it marked with something screaming that you were his and his alone was to tempting. Too much.
Tears pearled in his eyes before leaking over in fat pearls over the apples of his cheeks as his fingers curled tighter in your hair. Your fingers remained steady around his aching cock as it bobbed along your lips, which parted just enough for your devilish tongue to dart out and kitten lick the head. Just enough to have it bounce back against your tongue and for you to repeat the process.
The tears didn't stop as he curled over your form holding as close as you would allow. Eventually, you felt he had earned your mercy, loosening your fingers and sucking harshly on the head of his dick, cheeks hollowed as you gave a silent demand in your eyes. While it wasn't highlighting your features, he was more than happy to obey your whim this way, pulling your head close enough your nose brushed along the plain of his stomach, dumping your hard earned prize down your throat-- which constricted around his length every time you swallowed. A strangled whine left his throat, something he wasn't even aware he was capable of, as his back arched.
When he pulled away, eyes stinging and red as he stared down at you.
His fall was great, but he would do it a million times over, re-shatter his soul, brand his being with your mark, do it all should you demand, if only to keep you this close to him for the rest of time. He would slaughter kingdoms if you so pleased if just to see you smile. He would orchestrate Hylia's own demise should you ask. All for you, you, you.
His free little bird.

The Sky Stuck in a Moment
This is for the hesitation prompt for... April. Time gets possessed and the boys fight him.
I did take a little inspiration from two pictures by @jumpstrike (Linked Here and Here so please show some love to them) {Ao3 Link}
If there was one thing Sky appreciated about working with other Heroes it was having someone that could watch his back. Time, Four, Wind and he were just finishing up clearing out this area before going back to camp to see how the others were faring with their section. The area was small enough they felt like it was safe to split into groups to clear it out and they hadn’t heard of any stronger than usual monsters though Time insisted they stay in groups as they dealt with them. So far the rumors had been right, none of the monsters they were fighting here were black blooded. Naturally Sky wasn’t too worried as he moved further from Time who had been back to back with him.
Time had tossed a quick glance towards him but kept to where he was standing so he could reach any of them as they needed. It was relaxing in a way he hadn’t expected to know that he didn’t have to worry about those black blooded monsters or protecting someone else. He fell into a rhythm of striking and dodging while knowing the other Heroes could take care of themselves. Still he realized he had drifted almost too far from Time when he noticed the golden sheen of the other’s gauntlets almost across the clearing. Immediately Sky began to fight to return to the other Hero’s side. The last monster fell in front of him, felled by an attack from Wind who had been using one of his other weapons; it looked like a boomerang of some sort as it flew back to him.
“Sky!”
Sky saw Four pointing behind him and turned, the Master Sword ready in his hand. In front of him was a whirling black cloud and his heart seemed to leap into his throat as he stumbled back a step. Memories of Sun and him on their loftwings filled his mind as he saw the cloud. Sky stared at it wide eyed for a moment before he was roughly shoved out of the way. As he looked up he spotted Time standing where he had been surrounded by that dark cloud that seemed to be drawing inwards, lightning crackling through it as it moved closer and closer to Time until it seemed to vanish. There was this strange sense of something suddenly being horribly wrong as Time seemed to slump. Sky shuddered as he stood and took a cautious step towards him.
Time dropped to his knees, a hand pressed to his chest and panting. He seemed to be struggling with something as Sky hurried closer to him. Sky stood above him, wanting to drop to his knees but also not sure he would help any more from there. From what he could see there was nothing wrong with Time, there were no injuries or any other signs of anything affecting him, but he was clearly struggling with something. His markings seemed to be glowing and so was his white eye, glowing in a way that Sky had never seen but reminded him of Fi and Hylia when he saw them in their truest forms briefly. A slight ripple of power caused him to freeze before he could touch Time’s shoulder to see if he would respond.
“Time?”
“Sky, back up.”
“Huh?”
Sky looked at Four and Wind in confusion. The two of them had their swords in hand and were staring at Time warily. The sense of foreboding returned stronger, something was definitely off. Just seeing that reaction from the two of them confirmed that there had to be something else going on. Sky wished he could ask Fi what it was but she was currently focused on something else. Before Sky could take more than two steps away from him Time slowly got to his feet. Slow in a way that the Hero of Time never allowed himself to be unless he was badly wounded. Sky took another step away, his hand tightening on the Master Sword. He felt his caution was proved right upon seeing Wind readying himself to attack, a horrible sign since he knew that Wind respected Time a lot.
“Well now… this wasn’t what I expected but I suppose it will do.”
Time’s voice seemed off somehow, he couldn’t quite tell what it was. Sky wished he could ask what was going on or even if he could help, but that sense of wrongness and the memories that the cloud stirred kept him frozen for the moment. When he looked at Time Sky noticed that his eyes were both open and the white one was black while the other was amber instead of blue. Shivering he took a step back and shook his head in denial, the amber stirred just as many memories as the cloud of shadow did but there was no way for Demise to influence Time. Whatever it was that change was a bad sign, worse than bad but Sky hoped that he was wrong even if all signs pointed to him being right.
“Time, please…”
Sky almost couldn’t believe that was his voice, it sounded so small compared to normal and he felt guilt settle heavy in his stomach. This was his fault. Time took his place. Sky should have been the one staring at them… no Sky should have dealt with the cloud before it came into contact with any of them.
“Hmm? Oh, no need to call for your friend. He can’t hear you.” Time’s mouth curved into a smile that only seemed to chill Sky further. It was cruel and looked completely wrong on Time’s face.
Fi chimed a warning, giving Sky enough time to deflect the attack that came from his friend and leader. The Master Sword being one of the few weapons that could stand up to Time’s Biggoron Sword without being damaged. Briefly Sky wondered if he should be relieved that all three of them had weapons that could stand up to it or not. Before he could decide Wind moved closer, his sword ready to attack. Before he could, Time shifted, his blade sliding against the Master Sword in a strange way as he turned the deflected strike into a spin attack that nearly cut Wind in half. Almost because Four dragged him back away from Time just before the strike hit him and Sky took advantage of that to attack. His strike missed, and Fi wasn’t quite burning his hands in warning as though she too was aware of what was going on. Sky hoped so. Fi could help free Time if he could get in a good hit.
That was the problem. Time was moving into positions where Sky couldn’t hit him without risking hitting Four or Wind. Sky internally cursed as he moved to try and attack him again. Their swords locked for a moment.
Suddenly Time stumbled away from Sky, his right hand rising towards his face. The fingers ghosted over the red markings on Time’s cheek, the markings were glowing vividly and his right eye flickered white for an instant just before Four took advantage of the distraction and stabbed Time in the stomach. Sky jerked a little and quickly followed that with a cut of his own. He only managed a shallow cut along Time’s arm, it was hardly enough to do anything that it needed to do… but somehow that black eye flickered to white again for an instant longer.
In his hands the Master Sword heated in response to Fi’s anger at being turned against one of her future masters. She cooled as she seemed to realize that Time was being controlled by something. Yet before Sky could try to attack again Time was moving. He somehow grabbed Wind’s Phantom Sword and used it’s power for a moment, only obvious to them because for a moment he held it almost curiously then he was elsewhere. Before he knew what was happening Sky saw that Four was on the ground next to a tree gasping while trying to grab his sword which was just barely out of his reach. The Phantom Sword was flying through the air at Sky, and Wind was thrown harshly into a different tree from where Four was as though whatever was controlling Time didn’t want them close to each other.
Sky ducked and rolled out of the way of the Phantom Sword, he raised the Master Sword expecting the follow up from Time’s Biggoron Sword to try and finish him. Whatever was controlling Time growled as it clashed weapons with him, the sound strange from the usually composed man, and turned to leave. Sky raised the Master Sword into the air for a moment before he sent a Skyward Strike at Time’s back causing him to drop the Biggoron Sword as he dodged out of the way. Whatever was controlling him didn’t seem to be able to move like Time usually did and Sky wondered why that was while he was also grateful for it. The creature possessing Time seemed to focus on something as it began walking away, he hoped it would be searching for a fairy like Time usually tried to do after getting hurt. Sky wanted to follow Time and try to free him again but Wind and Four needed his help. Besides, Time wasn’t walking towards Camp…
A shiver came again and Sky whistled a signal for ‘danger’ and one for ‘disguise’ followed by the danger signal again. He had to warn the others about what happened, and hope that they were not in the direction Time was going in. They shouldn’t be but battles were strange sometimes and Twilight would definitely suffer if he had to fight Time especially in the condition Time was already in.
“I’m fine.” Four gasped, he managed to get up onto his hands and knees. One hand finally reached his sword while the other pressed against his stomach which seemed to pain him. Sky marveled that none of them had been killed by whatever controlled Time but perhaps that was the effect of whatever caused his eye to flicker white and his markings to glow. Sky shook his head ready to respond when Wolfie burst into the clearing with Warriors, Hyrule and Legend behind him. Wild was over by Wind before Sky could stand or say anything and Twilight shifted back into his Hylian form.
“What happened? Why do I smell blood?”
“Something possessed Time.” Wind said.
“What?”
“Something possessed Time.” Four repeated with a small nod.
“It was coming for me and Time pushed me out of the way. I’m not sure what it was.”
Twilight said nothing as he spotted Time’s sword on the ground. Sky privately thought he didn’t need to because the lost look on his face said plenty about what Twilight was thinking. Warriors checked over Sky who shook his head.
“I’m fine. Really. I got distracted when I saw it because it appeared behind me. The way whatever it was looked reminded me of the start of my adventure when I thought I lost…”
“Easy Sky.”
Warriors put a hand on his shoulder and gave it a small squeeze. While Sky had been focusing on getting his part of the story out Wild had somehow pulled Wind’s sword free from the tree where it ended up after missing Sky and was returning it to the youngest of the group. Wind seemed to relax once it was in his hands again though he was giving it a confused look like he expected something about it to be different. Twilight joined them with Time’s sword which Warriors took for a moment to study then handed back to Twilight with a couple of quick signs, Sky wished he could understand them better but didn’t so he focused on the others.
“It was Time’s choice.”
“So where did the blood come from?”
“Um…”
“That is-”
Four hesitated, he wanted to speak but also didn’t, clearly not wanting to admit what happened to Warriors and Twilight.
“Four saved me and Wind from Time by stabbing him. I managed to get a couple of attacks in but nothing serious enough for it to free him.”
“Damn.”
“I’m sorry Warriors. It-”
“If I hear you say that it’s your fault again I am going to throw you into the next river we find then I’m telling Time and he will do it too.” Twilight warned him. The Ordonian hero’s expression made Sky realize that he was hitting some sort of emotional wound and his shoulders slumped.
“Time doesn’t blame you, and none of us do. Now we need to figure out a plan to catch him and free him from whatever it is that has a hold on him without it grabbing one of us instead.”
“I don’t know if it helps but those markings on his face were glowing really brightly.” Sky offered.
“What?” Warriors and Wind both asked alarmed.
“Is that a bad thing?”
“You could say that.”
“It depends on how the Deity feels once he realizes what is going on.”
“Deity?” Legend asked, incredulously. Sky felt relieved that he wasn’t the only one who was wondering how things had shifted so quickly.
“Not my story.”
“Warriors, we need to know what to expect.”
Warriors paused and looked at all of them, Sky had no idea what expressions the others were making but he was giving his best hopeful look because he felt like this was important and if they didn’t know it would end badly. It felt like this might be the cause of his bad feeling earlier.
“Time came into contact with a Deity when he was younger, and in exchange for its help it uses his body sometimes. Those markings on his face are a sign of it.”
“I hope he isn’t mad at us.”
“He shouldn’t be?”
“Um… would having killed a deity type being make it nicer or meaner?” Sky asked hesitantly. He hoped that it would be kinder but he didn’t expect it.
“Probably meaner.”
“I see… well Time went that way.”
Sky wanted to shrink at the thought of the possible deity being mad and him making things worse. He pointed the direction Time had left in hoping to distract them from his reaction to Warriors’ response. Most of the group turned in the direction Sky pointed but Legend stood there with his arms crossed while glaring at Sky. Sky gave him a small hesitant smile and stepped back.
“Sky…”
“Yes, Legend?”
“Explain.”
“It’s nothing really.”
“Then you won’t have trouble explaining.”
“Well… to save Zelda I had to kill a demon god thing called Demise.”
Someone whistled in a way that said they were impressed and Sky realized that all of the others were watching him and blushed, wishing that Time was there to get their attention away by saying he sensed a fairy or something. Sadly Time wasn’t- suddenly he realized that someone might be able to help them find Time quicker. His eyes focused on Hyrule who seemed to be standing uneasily next to Four.
“Hyrule, you can find fairies pretty quickly, right?”
“Oh! That’s right, if Time is hurt he’ll look for one first.”
Hyrule smiled brightly as he realized he could help like that. He turned the direction they had been about to go in and started walking. Sky hoped that whatever was possessing his brother would follow Time’s usual habit of finding a fairy to heal him, but wasn’t sure it would work out the way he wanted it to. Still it was the best they had to go based on so he tried to be optimistic… which only vaguely worked with the way Warriors and Twilight seemed to be worrying about something and the way Wind kept sending sad glances towards him.
Wild climbed a tree quickly so he could see better and hurried along above them, easily changing from the trees to the cliff once they got closer to the cliff and the caves there. Hyrule was pausing a little now, checking his directions as though the fairy was moving… or as though Time was. Sky hoped that it was the fairy moving not their leader because if Time was the one moving then it meant that whatever was controlling him knew they were following and intended to keep a distance for a while longer… and it might not even be trying to get help. Finally Hyrule stopped and looked around as though he lost track of what he was following.
Sky looked around too. He glanced towards the ground and noticed something dark and shiny there before Twilight could transform and take over leading the group. Crouching, he touched it, dreading that it was Time’s blood, and found that the spot was wet, confirming his suspicion of what it was. The scent was still somewhat strong making Sky think that it was fresh. Looking in the direction the drops led Sky gripped the Master Sword tightly.
“This way.” Sky called to the others then started walking in the direction the drops led. He didn’t look back at them, not wanting to see the judgement on their faces as they too saw the trail he was following.
“Sky… be careful.”
Warriors told him as Sky took a couple of steps and Sky nodded. He felt anxious that things would get worse before Time was back with them. There was a scream of pain and fear up ahead, the sound familiar enough that the group all ran towards it, swords ready for a fight. The glimpse of gold ahead told Sky what they would find and he felt a mixed sense of relief and dread because there was another cloud of darkness forming then a flash of light that cut through it.
Soon enough he stepped into a clearing and Time stood there facing them, his hand pressed to his head and his eyes unfocused but the correct colors. On the ground in front of him was a shadowed being that was already dissolving away from the two pieces it was in. In Time’s hand was a green and blue oddly shaped sword and Sky felt a surge of fear at the sight of a ghostly being behind Time.
“Deity… please…” Time’s voice was surprisingly weak.
Sky’s chest felt tight at that, once again thinking that it was his fault that Time was in the state he was. The being behind Time watched them, its mouth twisted into a mockery of a smile. Sky observed it and saw that the being, the Deity, looked similar to Time, white eyes and hair instead of blue and gold but so similar anyway. It reminded Sky of Warriors’ words and he felt sick at the idea of having to fight Time’s body again to save him from this.
“Old Man! Come on.” Warriors called to Time who looked up briefly but he flinched and pressed his hand harder to the side of his head. His eyes closed as though he was fighting something once again. “Old Man, you can beat it!”
“I.. I-”
Time stuttered and the monster finished disappearing. Sky took a small step forwards and watched as the Deity frowned at him. They Deity let him go for a moment, his hand hovering behind Time’s head.
‘Give yourself to me, I will protect you. Give me a body to use and I will leave you without pain.’
The words were almost hypnotic to Sky but seeing the way Time seemed to be letting go and not fighting set off warnings in his mind.
“Deity… I… I give you my body… for this.” Time murmured, his hand moving from his head to reaching out towards something they couldn’t see.
The Deity smiled and moved his hand to gently cover Time’s eyes, as though telling him to let go. Sky couldn’t tell if the others noticed the Deity talking or not because they only moved to stand in a loose half circle around Time. Sky swallowed heavily and tightened his grip on his sword as he watched, hoping that he would not have to fight the Deity if he frightened Warriors and Wind as much as he had.
‘I will keep you safe little hero. Now sleep. Sleep deeply, and let me deal with those that have harmed you.’
Sky shuddered as he heard the voice, it sounded indifferent but coldly so. He saw Time seem to relax into the Deity and the Deity’s arms wrapped around him. Time’s colors seemed to fade when the Deity stepped forward, turning Time’s eyes both that unearthly white that Sky had seen watching them. The Deity raised his sword, the strange blade gleaming in promise of pain for the crime of hurting his host.
“Now, I do believe that you attacked me.”
Sky felt sickened as he watched the blood that was on Time’s face be wiped away. He’d missed that when he looked at him, missed seeing the sign of how hard Time had to fight to free himself because of Sky’s mistake. He knew without a doubt that they would lose and suffer if they tried to fight this Deity. It was not like Demise, he wasn’t after power or control, and that made him the toughest being they would have to fight unless one of them could talk him out of it.
“Deity, let him go.” Warriors demanded, his voice oddly level and calm. Sky wished he felt that calm right now because he didn’t.
“Let him go? I don’t think so.”
Sky took a step forwards, drawing those white eyes to him. Fi whispered reassurances to him but Sky couldn’t focus enough to hear them, all he could focus on was the slowly darkening ground under his leader’s feet and those white eyes that watched him with some emotion he couldn’t place.
“Please.” Sky pleaded, dropping to his knees and bowing his head. Around him Sky heard Warriors call his name, and the others moving to step between them. He closed his eyes and laid his sword on the ground. “Please, let him come back. It was my fault he got caught by that thing and I need to apologize to him.”
“You… Hylia’s Chosen, that is what you are.”
“Yes, at least that is what everyone in my Era calls me.”
“What a joke.”
“What?”
Sky looked up at the Deity surprised, he completely missed that none of the others were moving any more and that both the Deity and he were in some sort of barrier that shimmered a silvery blue.
“You defeated Demise but couldn’t beat something like that.”
“... it reminded me of when I almost lost everything.” Sky admitted while meeting the Deity’s eyes. He wasn’t sure this was the right thing to do but he felt he needed to do something. He closed his eyes against the tears that tried to appear as he exposed this bit of himself to someone who might not even care, but it was for his brothers, all of them, so he would do it. “I was there and the cloud appeared and I almost died as did my Zelda. Please, I know it means little to you-”
“I see… that’s why he wanted to save you. He saw the loss you nearly suffered in your actions. The Little Hero is a soft hearted fool.”
“Please, won’t you let him come back?”
“I said that I would take vengeance against those that harmed him.”
Four, Sky didn’t even look towards him because he would not let the younger Hero be hurt by this god for his mistake. Instead Sky stood, leaving the Master Sword on the ground at his feet. He pressed a hand to his chest while looking at the Deity’s eyes and face, once again seeing some sort of emotion on his face. Sky almost wondered if Time would remember any of this once he woke and almost hoped he didn’t… but also that he would.
“Then take vengeance against me. It was my failure that caused the whole situation in the first place so please let it be I that suffer the consequences of it.”
The blade gleamed threateningly as the Deity moved closer. “Are you certain that you wish this, God Slayer?”
“Yes.”
The blade was pulled back to result in a stab. Then it moved closer at a speed that Sky could move out of the way of but would be relatively painless if it struck him. Before it could touch him the sword vanished and the Deity smiled. Sky blinked at him in confusion and caught a faint echo of Time standing there next to the Deity with a grin on his face, blue eyes kind and affectionate.
“You didn’t flinch away.”
“Was I supposed to?”
The Deity laughed and Sky could also hear Time’s voice in it. He closed his eyes tightly against his tears, he felt relieved to hear Time’s voice like it should sound, and he felt a hand touch his cheek before he was pulled into a hug. The hug he quickly returned and the world around them returned to color and sound and the others stopped moving while looking at them in confusion. Sky simply clung to the Deity, to his brother, not wanting to let him go so he would stay safe with them.
“He will need help for a few days. I managed to deal with the parasite only moments ago because he refused to let me surface earlier for fear that I would harm one of you.”
“Would you have hurt us?”
“No. Remind him of that for me. His family is mine to protect after all.”
“I will.” Sky promised as he wrapped his arms tighter around Time’s body, holding him tightly and securely. Once the Deity let go of him Sky suspected that Time would need that support.
“Good.”
The Deity seemed to relax and Sky felt its power fall away, the Deity sinking back to wherever it stayed while watching over Time. He tightened his hold again as Time went limp against him. He felt the warmth seeping into his tunic and sent a panicked look towards Warriors and Hyrule. Warriors appeared not long after and helped him lay Time down so they could check on him.
“I have no idea what you did or how you managed to talk Fierce down but I am grateful.”
“He wanted to make sure Time was safe with us… and he asked that I remind Time that he will protect his family.”
“He… would say that….” Time’s voice came, he sounded weak and exhausted from what had happened.
“Time!”
The others all gathered around them and Hyrule was scanning Time for any other injuries. Time simply laid there allowing them to move him and seeming to enjoy being with the group as he looked over each of them for injuries or anything wrong with them.
“How does it look, Rulie?”
“Bad, he needs a fairy.”
Warriors touched Time’s cheek to draw his attention then checked something against his neck. His face went pale and Warriors seemed even more worried. Time blinked dazedly at him while Warriors looked up at the others, his face still pale and worried.
“The blood loss will kill him soon if we can’t get that wound closed. Hyrule can you go get a fairy to come? I am worried that moving him will make it even worse for him.”
“Wait! I have a fairy in my slate.” Wild called as he tapped a few things then a pink fairy appeared fluttering above Wild’s hand. Hyrule moved closer and said something to the fairy which chimed in alarm before moving over to Time. She spread her magic over him and began healing the damage caused by Four’s sword.
“Legend, we’ll need a fire. Twilight can you go and gather things from where we set up camp? Time’s bedroll and mine first, we need to get him warm and comfortable because moving him for the next few days will be rough on him.”
“Sure… Four, Wind would you two come with me?”
Sky watched numbly but he stayed where he was, the Master Sword still on the ground next to him as he watched Time. Time who was looking at him with some exasperation on his face. He seemed a little better now that the fairy had worked her magic and healed him, and Sky wondered what was going through his mind. Hopefully he wasn’t completely furious with him for having spoken to the Deity like that.
“I’m sorry?” Sky said, almost asked, and Time rolled his eyes.
“My choice.” Time managed to say.
“I should have moved.”
“We all hav-”
“Time, rest. You lost too much blood there.” Warriors cut in while Time was still talking and Sky was grateful because hearing Time sounding so weak but trying to tell him that it was okay just… it made Sky feel worse honestly. He wanted to help Time, to make things better but felt like he was just making it worse already.
“Shouldn’t sleep.”
“Wild is making something for you to drink then you will sleep.”
Sky saw how Time kept trying to look around and suddenly understood why he was refusing to rest at all. Smiling a little he grabbed his hand to get his attention and nodded.
“It’s okay, Time. You can rest. The Deity didn’t hurt us and he asked for me to tell you he won’t. He said that your family is his to protect.” Sky shared the information he’d been asked to and lightly touched Time’s cheek over the red markings there.
Time blinked slowly, clearly losing his fight to stay awake and aware now that he had that information. It obviously was a relief to him, knowing that none of them had been in danger from the Deity and Sky noticed that Time’s eye unfocused for a moment then refocused on him. A slight shimmer of silvery white told him that Time was checking with the Deity and when he saw the way Time was relaxed and almost smiling Sky felt like he’d finally managed to do something that helped.
“Here, this should help.” Wild handed Warriors a bowl.
Warriors helped Time sit up trying to be careful of the freshly healed wound. Once he was sitting up and leaning against him, Time tried to take the bowl. Sky moved closer and helped Time hold it steady, ignoring the mildly annoyed look he got for doing so. If Time couldn’t even sit up without help Sky was sure that he wouldn’t be up to drinking whatever soup and potion Wild had prepared for him to use to replenish what all he’d lost. With help from the two of them, Time was able to drink most of what had been in the bowl before his remaining energy was gone. As soon as Sky noticed he was holding the bowl almost entirely by himself he moved it away and when Wild grabbed it he smiled, seeing that it was mostly empty. Warriors picked Time up, ignoring the small disgruntled sound he got for it, then moved their leader over to where Twilight had just finished setting up a bedroll for Time. Sky nearly laughed when he saw that the bed was made of Time and Twilight’s blankets not Warriors. He grinned seeing Warriors’ annoyed look towards Twilight’s back as the rancher left in wolf form again.
Of course the annoyance melted away as Time sighed and curled under the blankets which was a little thicker than what Warriors had for his bed. Sky found it funny that Time and Twilight seemed to have the thickest blankets for their bedrolls while Wind and Four got the coldest. It often turned out to be a good thing since when someone was injured Time or Twilight could lend their blankets to whoever needed them… because one or the other didn’t sleep. Sky made a mental note to make sure Twilight slept some, or to remind Warriors to make Twilight sleep.
It took Twilight a few trips to move everything from the old camp to the new one, Wind and Four helping pack the old camp while Twilight carried it as Wolfie. Sky sat near Time and played his harp while watching over the rest of their camp. It hadn’t taken long for the others to set up the new camp, making sure Time was safely near the fire and away from the edge of the camp had been a priority. Sky almost got involved with it too but he was more focused on making sure Time rested peacefully. The Chain’s Leader was prone to nightmares that he didn’t want to talk about normally and this was sure to make them worse, and they really didn’t want him to be thrashing around much from one with the severe wound he’d recently had healed.
It was because of this that Sky could watch how just as one started to affect Time Wolfie came over and cuddled up to his side, his head resting close enough for Time to feel his warmth. Time sighed and curled closer to Wolfie, his arm slipping out from under the blankets to curl around the wolf. Twilight seemed to sigh as well and just curled protectively around the injured man. Sky felt his mouth curl into a smile but he just felt sad that things turned out like this. He reached over and tucked a blanket over Time’s arm so it wouldn’t get cold. Warriors had warned them all about the dangers of getting chilled while suffering from blood loss and Time wouldn’t be able to handle it for a couple of days.
As things settled Sky got up and walked a little ways away. He couldn’t quite bear to be in the camp any more. Not now. Every time he closed his eyes he thought about how Time fought against letting something that would free him help and how his brother got stabbed by a different brother because of him. A little way away from the camp Sky sat down and looked up at the sky. The stars seemed so dim compared to his home, but they were comforting anyways. They reminded him that the others were okay… even if every time he closed his eyes Sky could see the shock on Time’s face, amber and black eyes wide, and hear the Deity’s words. It was his fault, he froze.
A branch cracked and Sky was on his feet, his hand reaching for his sword which he realized was still at camp near where Time had been returned to thim.
“Like our Traveler likes to say, It’s dangerous to go alone. Especially without this.” Legend said as he approached Sky, holding out the Master Sword. Sky’s hands shook as he took her back from Legend. “Time will be okay. Warriors and Hyrule both said so.”
“I know…”
“You aren’t at fault.”
“I am though! I hesitated and Time had to save me. He got hurt because of me.”
“Then by that logic I got hurt because of him, and Hyrule did, and Wind, and-”
“No! That’s not true.” Sky sliced his hand through the air, shaking his head. He backed up a step away from Legend feeling sick at the thought of accusing Time of any of that after how long it had taken them to get the man to share those feelings and start to think maybe he wasn’t at fault. Sky’s hand dropped to his side and he closed his eyes, trying to think of anything other than what happened. Even so the image of Time’s eyes being the wrong colors and wide with pain from being stabbed flashed across his mind. “It’s… it’s not true. Time isn’t at fault for any of that.”
“I know.” Legend gave him a hug and Sky dropped to his knees, his legs suddenly unable to keep supporting him. “I know. Sky, Time did what he did because he wanted to keep you safe, to keep all of us safe. It was his choice to do what he did.”
“Four hurt him to protect me… and the Deity could have freed him sooner but he didn’t want to hurt us.”
“That’s our leader for you. Worrying about all the wrong things.” Legend’s exasperation caused some of the fear and worry in Sky’s heart to release.
“I’m sorry… every time I closed my eyes I-” Sky couldn’t finish his sentence because of a lump that formed in his throat. Legend sighed and gave him a small squeeze.
“Sky, you remember Time saying that it was his choice, right?” Sky nodded. Legend nodded back and shifted a little to make Sky sit up and look him in the eye. “It was his choice, and… we all have things we freeze up over. Maybe not all of us have experienced them or shared them but we all have them.”
“But I-”
“Remember how Wind reacted to your Loftwing that first time?”
“Yes?”
“Do you blame him for it?”
“No!”
“Do you blame him for almost falling off the island and needing to be rescued because of it?”
“Of course not.”
“Is this the first time you saw something like that since it happened?”
“Yes?”
“Then there you go. You didn’t expect it and weren’t thinking. Next time it won’t make you freeze.”
“It won’t…” Sky took a deep breath and then he felt himself smiling again. He could see the exasperated affection in Time’s expression as Time told him it was his choice and he felt like he could accept it now. “Thank you Legend.”
“Don’t mention it. Now, come on. Let’s go back before the Old Man wakes up and sees that we’re gone. He’ll try getting up if he doesn’t see you there.”
“Yeah.” Sky agreed though he wasn’t sure Legend was right, but he was more willing to believe him now.
When they got back Sky was surprised to find Time looking around the camp while partly pinned under Wolfie. When Time saw him and Legend he seemed to relax and smile, Sky felt tears burn in his eyes as he moved over to sit next to Time.
“I’m sorry.”
“Sky-”
“Please, let me speak?”
Sky waited until Time nodded. He could practically feel the eyes of the others on them and took a deep breath.
“That cloud reminded me of the one that Ghirahim used to knock Zel- Sun down to the Surface at the start of my journey. It nearly killed us both, at least it nearly killed me and she almost died because of it. We survived and it was the start of my adventure but I.. I froze just seeing it. Then when I saw your eyes after whatever that was possessed you… it reminded me of Demise, he is the one I fought instead of Ganon.”
“Sky…” Time repeated his name and touched his cheek. Sky leaned into the touch, barely realizing that he was crying until he saw how soft Time’s expression was.
“I just… I froze. I couldn’t attack you and all I can think about since then is that I failed, I hesitated and you paid for it.”
Time sighed and dropped his hand to try and tug Sky towards him using the Sailcloth. Sky took a moment to realize what Time wanted and it only sunk in when Time started to sit up, trying to free his arm from Wolfie’s weight while Wolfie was giving him a Look. Sky quickly pushed him to lie back down and shuffled closer so he could lie next to Time, facing him.
“Sun was the target, right?”
“Yes?”
“You almost died because of her then.”
“That’s not-”
“Sky, remember that the forgiveness you give others is what you should give yourself.”
Sky blinked a few times then he curled up a little, his hands fisting in his own tunic. Time sighed and pulled him closer, his arm circling Sky’s shoulders and his hand settling into his hair reassuringly. Sky sniffed and pressed his face against Time’s neck while trying to process what he had been told both by Time and by Legend.
“I feel like I failed you.”
Time sighed and nodded. “I forgive you.”
Sky shook a little, those simple words felt like a hammer hitting his shield. It seemed to pass through him in waves leaving him feeling loose and floaty. He curled his hand tighter into Time’s shirt and nodded. The relief he felt at that simple sentence left him feeling better than he had since he’d saved Sun and held her in his arms again.
“Thank you Time.” Sky murmured and he felt Time’s arm tighten around his shoulders giving him a small squeeze.
“You’re welcome.”
Time’s voice sounded soft, almost too soft, but Sky felt him breathing and could feel his heartbeat. Those reassured him that Time would be okay. He smiled as he realized that he hadn’t failed Time, he’d saved him. Now that the worry passed Sky relaxed and started falling asleep too, his arms wrapping around Time. Time mumbled something incomprehensible then seemed to settle and Sky closed his eyes hoping to dream about home, but home with his brothers all safe and there.

Last Guardian Linked Universe AU
Each Link would have a Trico, each of them with different fur and feathers, and little accessories. That's the theory with each Link detailed under the cut.
Hyrule would have a coffee brown Trico. As he's from an apocalyptic world, food is scarce but he always share his part with his beast which would return it. His Trico will be really soft and accommodating to him, leaning its head so Hyrule could climb on its back. Would name it Hope or Light.
Legend's Trico would be a light colored one, almost a blond colored one. Both of Legend and his Trico would have the sassy attitude, and would play bully easily (and Legend MAY have been gobbled up once or twice). But if one touch only one feather of the creature, Legend will rip them apart. Oh and his beast would be COVERED in different trinkets for magic. Would be named Marin, in honor of the dream's woman as he would tell his Trico.
Four and his Trico are the impressive opposite in size, but it didn't matter. The color would be a black and white beast! They would enjoy long ballads in Hyrule, flying high as if nothing was important. The beast is armored, totally by Four's handiwork. Matching colors and frills matching his earring. Totally named White because all colors mixed makes white.
Time and his beast would be the calmest one. White as snow, they would be around at the ranch, both helping. Malon has all right to climb on this Trico too, like a family pet dearly cherished. They may have tried to shoot the moon once or twice. Name would be Space, because Time and Space!
Twilight would have a friendly fight with his Trico, those little play games that pups do together to learn how to fight. the color of the beast would be black, like his fur when he's a wolf. He would put on his beast and friend some Twili style decorations, nothing too heavy for it. Thinking that he could name it something goofy like Butter or Choccy.
Sky is used to creature taller than him, with the Loftwings. So having his Trico is like a Loftwing but in cat shape. The bond between them would be a lot of sleeping and having the head up high in the sky. In Wild's Hyrule, they would climb those Hebra mountains just to throw themselves from that height and enjoy the breeze on them. He would keep the name Trico, for him it suits the creature best.
Wind's Trico is totally cool with long time on beaches, albeit his dark brown feathers taking all the sand in it. Wind would be on top of it, letting the Trico find things in the dirt while he would scourge the place to loot. They're a danger duo, and they know it. Both are playful, and his Trico want to play with the others like a kitten needing affection. He would have a large bandana, more a blanket, but still, like those dogs with the little cloth on them. Named something piraty, like Bounty or Looty.
Warrior and his Trico would be the best commandant and his beast duo. With a stripped pattern of brown and grey, his Trico would also have a custom made armor to resist any attack during the wars. And he would be the one that knew how these beasts fed before discovering real food after the mind control. Named Dove, because he craves peace more than everyone thinks.
Wild and his Trico are like Wind and his beast too, absolute menace. Wild was the one that introduced the Chain to the creatures while showing them the sky islands, where they rest and live usually. His Trico is a golden orange, and covered in Zonai style armor. Both wreak havoc on monsters, knows the best place to find good food and are both amazing teammates when it comes to cooking or guiding the others. He would name his Trico something food or flower related, like Lilly or Bone.

Fandom: The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Pairing: Link/Sheik Words: 1610 This oneshot was written for @zelinkcommunity's Loftwing Letters 2024 and is a gift for midnightbunnyy on AO3. Please enjoy!
Looking back, the first hint that something was amiss should have been how easy Link found it to trust Sheik.
His secretive new ally kept his face entirely covered, save for a bright red eye that was almost smiling, if not the gravity of the words he spoke. When evil rules all, an awakening voice from the Sacred Realm will call…
Sheik’s voice, stern yet calm, gave Link the feeling that not only was saving Hyrule possible, it was their destiny. So it did not bother him that this stranger seemed to know exactly how to defeat the evil Ganondorf and find Princess Zelda, nor did it bother him that Sheik’s idea of goodbye was throwing down a deku nut and disappearing in the haze left behind. The first time it happened Link could only smile at the spectacle.
How like him, he thought.
Beyond providing Link with some philosophical musings, Sheik was a man of few words. Still, he was welcome company. The Hyrule to which Link had awoken had changed almost beyond recognition; crushed under the heel of its new King, the land was scoured and the people were scarce. The times that Sheik appeared to teach Link a new song on his ocarina were the only chance he actually had to speak to anyone.
“Are you feeling better today?” he asked after they had met in the raging underbelly of Death Mountain to play a bolero of fire.
“Pardon?”
“A few days ago at the Forest Temple, when you taught me the minuet. You had a cold.”
“No I didn’t.”
“You were sneezing.”
“Sneezing? I…” Sheik paused, as understanding crossed what little of his face Link could see. “I remember now. Yes, I am better. Thank you Link.”
“Well, that’s good to hear—“
Snap! Down came the deku nut and Sheik was gone.
It wasn’t exactly a conversation, but it was a start. Link next found Sheik deep in the icy caverns of Zora’s Domain — frozen thanks to Ganondorf’s meddling — but his hopes of further discussion were quickly dashed.
Sheik’s usual poise was gone. He sat on a large block of ice, slumped and clutching his golden harp to his chest. He explained that Zora’s Domain was lost, except for its princess who had gone in search of the Water Temple to destroy the monster within. He drew his harp forth, preparing with some melancholy to teach Link another song.
“Time passes, people move,” he sighed. “Like a river’s flow, it never ends, does it? A childish mind will turn to noble ambition. Y-young—“
“Young love will become deep affection,” Link murmured. “The clear water reflects growth.”
“How did you know what I was going to say?” Sheik’s red eye met his, cold as the ice of the caverns.
“I just did. I…” Link searched for the right words. “We know each other, don’t we? I mean other than meeting like this.”
Sheik withdrew, reaching yet again for a deku nut to flee with. Link surged forward, grabbing his shoulder. “Wait, answer me!”
“No. Not now. Find the Princess, Link,” Sheik instructed, pulling away. “I need time to think.”
Reluctantly, Link agreed, and allowed Sheik to teach him the song; a serenade so sweet it made him want to cry. This time, Sheik departed not with a flash but a bow.
“I’ll see you again,” he said.
To Link, it seemed like an apology.
---
Once the beast within the Water Temple was vanquished, and yet another friend had ascended as a Sage, Sheik met Link on the shores of Lake Hylia. The clear waters sparkled under the high sun as they sat together on the bank, eating a fish that Link had caught and roasted over a fire.
In order to eat, Sheik had dropped the cowl covering his face, unveiling it for the first time. He was younger than Link had imagined, with unblemished skin and a smattering of fine whiskers on his jaw. But most surprising was the way Sheik smiled when he talked.
“A fine carp, a good catch,” he said lightly.
“Compliments to the chef?” Link asked. At this Sheik just rolled his eyes.
“Anyway, I do not know why you feel we have met before,” he said as he picked over a few fish bones. “Perhaps in a past life, we fought a great evil together. That sort of thing leaves a mark on the soul. Trust me.”
“I do trust you."
Sheik looked at him for a long moment, and then laughed. The sound of it caught Link off-guard; it had a melodic lilt, like his harp.
“Don’t let your fiancé hear you say that,” Sheik said. I don’t have a fiancé Link was about to say, when Sheik leaned across and kissed his cheek, running a gentle hand through his hair at the same time.
“Thank you for this respite, Hero,” he whispered. Then, before Link could even think how to respond, Sheik was dousing the fire and the afternoon was over.
---
With no clear next destination, Link travelled in a daze from Lake Hylia to Kakariko Village, hoping to hire a room at the inn and stare at the ceiling until he understood his twin feelings of joy and confusion. Except he could do no such thing, because when he arrived the inn was on fire, along with the rest of the town.
In the midst of it all, as townsfolk scrambled for safety, Sheik stood tall and at the ready by the entrance to the town’s well.
“Get back,” he called to Link. At that moment the well cover blew clean off, and all hell (or something much worse) broke loose.
A terrible shadow swarmed overhead. It swooped, angling directly for Sheik and knocked him to the ground. Link’s legs had a mind of their own, positioning him between the shadow and Sheik. He raised his shield, but the force of its blow was so great it sucked the air from his lungs. Just as his consciousness faded he was… standing again. By the well.
“Get back, Link!” Sheik said. The well exploded. The shadow roared. This time it went straight for him, burrowing into his heart, and he felt himself fall and hit— the bricks, as the shadow slammed him into a nearby building. The shadow struck again, throwing Link backward and— into the well itself, falling and falling with no way to—
“Get back, Link, please!” Sheik cried.
What was happening? Why was he stuck at the well, at this one moment, being hit again and again and being told to—
“Get back!” Sheik shouted, angry now.
Again the shadow burst forth, knocking Link down harder than all times before. Pain welled in his chest. Then, above him, he saw Sheik take the ocarina from his bag and begin to play. In his last moments of awareness, Link realised he knew the melody: it was a lullaby, once beloved by the Princess of Hyrule.
---
Looking back, all that had come before now made sense, but Link needed time to be sure. He had braved the Shadow Temple and conquered the Spirit Temple before he was ready to confront Sheik.
They met once again in the Temple of Time, where it had all begun. Sheik explained to him the legends of the Triforce, saying that Ganondorf had caused it to split into three when he stole it from the Sacred Realm. All this only strengthened Link’s resolve.
“You hold the final piece,” Link said. “You are the seventh sage.”
“I—“ Sheik blinked at him. “Yes. How did you know?”
Link took a deep breath. “From the moment we met, you seemed familiar. Then I began to remember things you had forgotten, and finish your sentences.” He took the Ocarina of Time from his bag and held it between them. “Then you used this to save my life in Kakariko Village. You turned back time, more than once. There’s only one person in Hyrule who could do that.”
Sheik’s eyes welled with tears. He bowed his head.
“Zelda,” Link said, kind as he could. “I’m not angry. It is Zelda, right?”
Sheik had bowed, but it was the Princess who raised her head. “Yes, it is. You don’t know how happy it makes me to say that.”
Link handed the ocarina to her. “How many times did you use it?”
With a shrug, “I lost count after fifty.”
Fifty? “I died that many times?!”
“I don’t know what to tell you,” Zelda said, laughing. “You’re as brave as you are reckless.” Then her face fell. “This is the furthest we’ve ever made it. Each time you fall, I have to send us back to the moment you arrive in the future. At this point, I don’t even know if defeating Ganondorf is possible.”
She unravelled her long braid, shaking out her golden hair with a sigh. Her eyes seemed a little softer now, the red shade fading to green. This was who she had wanted to be all this time, Link thought.
“I’m sorry I can’t remember it all,” Link said, realising unhappily that Zelda likely could. “When I face Ganondorf, I’ll make it count.”
Zelda placed a hand on his cheek and smiled a soft, sad smile. “I know you will.”
She knelt down to kiss his cheek, but Link turned his head and caught her lips with his own; a short, whisper of a kiss, one hopeful of more to follow once peace had returned.
“I’ll see you again?” Zelda asked.
“I’ll see you again,” Link affirmed.
This time around, whether or not this was the last time around, it was nothing short of a vow.

Okay Jes, so, I took a poll a while back to figure out what Sky should be for the monster AU. He’s a Changeling now. Basically, a fairy-or maybe some other creature who knows-swapped him out with a regular Hylian when he was very young. Maybe the original Link and his family died in an accident or something, and Sky was left if his original’s place. What if one of the Golden Goddesses did it, OH what if his Loftwing did it! That’s why they connected so easily, the Loftwing was tasked by the goddess or something to leave Sky on Skyloft and stuff idk I’m making this up as I go.
Anyways, changeling lore(screenshot from Wikipedia)
Sky is shorter than some of the other Links(he’s like in the middleish of height), he’s like 5’3 but he’s shorter than a good chunk of other Skyloftians(I think it’s been a while). He can also have those sharp, almost shark-like teeth, they can be a bit long and pointy, as a treat. Also, uncanny insight? Like a speed runner would have? Sorry, I’m a bit nonsensical right now, anyhow Sky, displaying unusual behavior? Yeah, I can see that. Mf jumped on a chandelier and that’s not even the weirdest thing he’s done.
Sky didn’t realize he was a Changeling until Impa(I don’t know if old or young Impa would be better tbh) told him he was. He did not take that well, he knew he was weird, that he was different from everybody else, but he didn’t think he wasn’t even one of them. By the time LU happened, he’s more okay about his state of being, but he still thinks of himself as a Hylian first, monster second.
I think that when Sky first meets Wars, he tries to be like “hello fellow Hylian! I am normal like you, do not worry!” But Wars, being a human, is able to detect monsters easier than most hylians would. Also he’s spent a lot of time with fairies, and Changelings are intrinsically fae-like, so Wars just looks him dead in the eye and says “I know what you are.” He doesn’t, he has a clue but he knows that Sky isn’t Hylian and does not want to deal with that right now. Sky thinks they already have bad blood between them, but they don’t, Wars is just tired of the everything.
Anyways, that’s enough of that semi-coherent rambling, hope you have a great rest of your day!
IM OBSESSED WITH THIS IM SO OBSESSED WITH THIS OH MY GOD EATING IT I LOVE THIS AU SO MUCH
also i saw the “i know what you are” and I have no idea if you meant Wars would say it in a homophobic dog kinda way or a kobeni losing her fucking shit kinda way and my brain combined them into something so cursed and so fucking funny i spent the past four minutes in tears gasping for fucking air
i hope you have a wonderful rest of your day as well!! :)

A DRINK WITH DESTINY ──
botw/totk modern au | rated T major characters: zelda, link summary: for galentine's, zelda and her friends decide to check out hyrule's newest bar, the lost woods. word count: 1695 warnings: alcohol mentions/use
a/n: happy (late) loftwing letters @angelicgarnet! you said you like botw/totk zelink and modern au's so have this modern meet-cute story :) i hope you like it!
read it below the cut or on ao3 → here
It’s five o’clock. The Lost Woods has just opened, and it’s only a matter of time before a crowd makes its appearance. Link’s spent the last hour preparing for it: stocking the bar with an array of cheap liquor and top-shelf alike, cutting garnishes, filling the bin with ice. The Galentine’s event tonight had been his clever idea—a way of bringing in and establishing patrons for Hyrule’s newest bar.
“Go ahead,” he calls out to the band in the corner, tucked away on a small wooden stage. The head of the band, a tall woman with a dark brown bob, nods her head and readies her violin. Light, traditional Hyrulean folk music fills the silence hanging in the bar, just as the crowd begins to slowly trickle inside.
“I’ll have a Champion.” A Gerudo woman with long, red hair sits at the bar mere moments later, handing him her card between two fingers. “And a Zora’s Scale for my friend.” Her head tilts in the direction of the shorter redhead who takes up the barstool beside her. Link nods, mindlessly pulling the Champion into a tall glass, slowly falling into the motion of making drinks. “And another friend will be joining us soon. Put her on my tab when she comes in.”
“Sure,” he says easily. “What does this friend look like?”
“You can’t miss her,” the Gerudo says with a knowing smile and a wink. She takes a sip of her Champion, then nudges the Zora beside her to do the same. Link shrugs, turning away to take the order of another woman.
Eventually, a steady stream of patrons occupy the bar, groups of young women eager to celebrate their friendships and drink on a good deal. The music becomes a background to the loud chatter taking place, and at some point, the Gerudo and Zora leave their barstools with their drinks in hand, mingling with a few others they must know. He turns his attention to his work, focusing solely on getting his drinks just right.
Some time later a voice cuts through the bar. It’s soft and sweet, clear as day to him despite the noise. His attention is shattered at the sound of it. He looks up, distracted.
“Sorry I’m late!” The voice says hurriedly to the Gerudo from earlier, holding a soft blue purse close to her body. She pulls the gold chainlink strap up onto her shoulder with one hand, then runs the same hand through her blonde hair in an attempt to smooth it down into place. From far away, Link can’t hear the rest of the exchange, but he sees the Gerudo wave the apology away. She says something to the woman, then points her towards the bar. Towards him.
The Gerudo was right; he couldn’t miss this woman.
Link has bartended for years—mostly on the side, only recently full-time. He’s flirted, exchanged phone numbers, the whole nine yards. But she… She is like something out of a fairytale. Her golden hair lays in silky straight strands, bangs clipped out of her face with blue butterfly clips. Her eyes are big and beautiful, green like emeralds and accentuated by dark brown cat-eye liner. The pink gloss on her lips seems to glow, reflecting the dim light around them. She is the first woman to make him feel truly nervous.
“Hi,” her soft voice says. She stands on her tiptoes, leaning over the dark mahogany bar to speak to him. It’s unnecessary. Even with all the noise, his attention is focused solely on her. Listening.
“What can I get for you?” He says, trying to look casual as he pours another cocktail through a strainer. He sits the glass on the bar in one quick, fluid motion towards its recipient.
“Oh. Um.” Her green eyes trail from the drink and over to settle on the framed specials sheet sitting atop the bar. They scan the sheet slowly, taking in every detail. Finally, she frowns. “I’m sorry. I don’t really drink…”
“That’s okay,” he says quickly, sounding maybe a bit overenthusiastic. “Do you want something sweet or dry?”
She chews her lip. “Maybe somewhere in the middle? Probably more sweet I think. But not too sweet.”
He nods. Normally when women don’t know what to order, he makes them a classic. A Castletonian, or a simple Zoran’s with cranberry. It’s hard to go wrong with either of those, and if they don’t like it, well… then he has a better idea of what to make for them next time. Yet, for her—for this goddess standing before him—something else comes to mind entirely.
He takes a step away from the bar, conjuring the supplies up quickly from the shelf behind him. Her eyes follow intently all the while, taking in each and every motion he makes. For good measure (and maybe because he likes the feel of her eyes on him), he shoves the sleeves to his blue shirt up over his elbows before he continues. The Master Sword tattoo on his right forearm is fully visible now. She seems to smile at the sight of it.
“How long have you guys been open?” she asks. He’s grateful for her attempt to fill the heavy silence hanging between them.
“Just a couple of weeks.”
“Cool…” Her eyes fall away from him now, taking in the scenery around them. They focus on the plants filling every corner, fake vines crawling up the few faux stone ruins around the room. Finally, they land on the band playing in the corner. “I like it. The theme is really cool.”
“Thanks,” he says, sincerely. Then he shrugs. “I’ve been interested in Ancient Hyrulean stuff for a while. I thought it’d make a cool bar concept.”
Her eyes light up, snapping back to him. “Me too! Well, not the bar thing.” She rushes to explain. “That sounded negative. I don’t mean it like that—it’s a cool concept. I just… I’m actually an archeaology major at the university.”
“Really? I thought about going to school for history.”
She leans forward. “Why didn’t you?”
“I’ve always been bad in school. Trouble focusing, sleeping during class, that kind of thing. I’ve never been super disciplined, I guess.”
“I get it,” she says, but he can tell from the tone of her voice that she doesn’t. No–this woman strikes him as intelligent. She’s probably never made below an A-plus in any of her courses.
He nods without thinking and, with one final motion, garnishes her drink with a simple Silent Princess. It floats lightly on top of the light blue liquid, edible gold glitter shining with every swirl of the martini glass.
“What’s it called?” She wonders aloud as she takes the glass from his hands, peering inside.
“The Princess.”
Her eyes widen. Her mouth opens, then closes. A dark red flush crawls up her skin.
“Oh,” she says quietly. Then, as if realizing what he’s done, her eyes narrow. She eyes the glass suspiciously. “And do you make The Princess for every fair lady who enters your establishment, sir?” Her faux-royalty accent makes him smile.
“Only for you. It seems fitting.”
Despite the dim lighting, her cheeks burn fiercer. She smiles.
“Oh. Then thank you.”
“What’s your name?” he asks finally. It’s his turn to lean against the bar, resting his chin lazily on a hand.
“Zelda,” she says with a soft smile. He widens his eyes.
Zelda, like the ancient princesses from thousands and thousands of years ago. Either it’s a coincidence or—
“Are you teasing me?”
“No,” she laughs, “that’s really my name. What’s yours?”
“Link.” Her mouth falls open. She laughs harder. It’s a lovely sound and makes his heartbeat quicken.
“Like the hero?”
“The very same, actually. My dad was really into military history. Wars and stuff.”
“Well it’s a pleasure to meet you, Hero,” she teases, holding a hand out for him to take.
“Same for you, Princess.” Feeling bold, he pulls her hand closer. His mouth lightly brushes the back of her hand. It hovers. At the very last second, before he pulls away, his blue eyes flick up to meet hers. She dares to hold his gaze.
They break away only for her to take a sip.
“Mmm! It’s perfect!”
“Good.” He gives a lopsided grin, releasing her hand. “I’ll make as many as you wish, Princess. On one condition.”
“And what might that be?”
He points his finger up in the air, towards the rickety wooden sign hanging above the bar. Drink Responsibly. Don’t Get Lost, it says, scrawled in someone’s poor attempt at mimicking Ancient Hyrulean script.
She laughs. “Clever.”
“Thanks.”
“Zelda!” The Gerudo’s voice cuts through the bar. “Come here!”
“Sorry,” she apologizes, wincing. She hesitates to move away from him. “Thanks again.”
And like that, she’s gone.
—
He’s closing up the bar when something catches his attention. A specials sheet, removed from its frame and torn in half, sits between half-full glasses on the bar. When he peers closer, there’s text.
Thanks for everything. You were really nice tonight. I’d love to get to know you more. -Zelda
Below the text, a set of numbers is scrawled in pretty handwriting. Her phone number. Link grabs the paper quickly and wastes no time in sending her a text.
—
Her phone buzzes, just as she enters the shared apartment with Urbosa and Mipha. Warm and fuzzy, stumbling slightly from the alcohol, Zelda struggles only momentarily to pull her Slate from the pocket of her jacket. It lights up when she finally does, the notification quickly expanding on her screen.
Hey, it’s Link, the bartender. Thanks for giving me your number, I’d love to hang out some time. :)
Zelda blinks once. Twice.
“How’d he get my number?” She asks no one in particular. Had she given it to him? Did she forget? It’s possible, she muses. The Princess had been stronger than it’d tasted.
“Sorry, Zel.” Mipha is the first to crack, her voice soft and nervous. “But you should have seen the way you two looked at each other.”
“And, Princess,” Urbosa gently mocks, a wide, mischievous smile spreading across her face. “He’s handsome.”
Zelda can’t say she’s angry.
#disclaimer im zelda and i dont drink very much so if some of this doesnt make sense just smile and nod and pretend#however ive been picking up part time shifts at a restaurant/bar recently and ive learned a lot !!#hyylia lore#thats what inspired me to write this tbh link would make a bangin bartender#i wanted to include more but alas word limit#if this is received well i might add to it and flesh it out more!! i was already worldbuilding for just this little drabble which is so fun#y but thats how it goes isnt it lololol#also ok i know in botw/totk its technically hyrule/korok forest but like the lost woods is such a good idea for a bar i couldnt help myself#loftwing letters#loftwing letters 2024#zelink community#zelink#botw#totk#my writing

@skyward-floored and I both noticed Warriors looking less than comfortable in Jojo's latest art and thought 'wait is he afraid of heights??' As someone who is VERY afraid of heights I naturally had to latch onto the idea...and write something about it. Sorry, Wars
CW for blood/injury, mentions of vomit, and descriptions of panic and fear of heights
----------------------------------
In no universe is this enjoyable.
Warriors stares down, transfixed by the sky and clouds beneath him, (beneath him — by the golden three they should be above him, ABOVE HIM like normal). His limbs are leaden, his thoughts scrambling, panicked. His mouth is dry as the Gerudo Desert.
He swallows, forces saliva down a too-tight throat. He and heights never truly have gotten along. But this is a new extreme.
He’s never been this high before. He’s never been atop an island in the sky. It’s something he was very much fine, never having done. In fact, he was much more fine before the Shadow had decided it would be wonderfully comical to dump them here.
To Sky, it had been the best thing since pumpkin soup. He was home, after all. Warriors can’t blame the guy.
Still…
He drags his foot away from where it had crept worrying close to the edge. How exactly had that happened?
Still, why on Hylia’s green earth does the hero have to live IN THE SKY?
Warriors glances over to where Sky is eagerly showing off his loftwing to Wild and Hyrule. A short ways away, Time converses with Gaepora. Not far from him, Legend and Wind seem to be engaging in a game of some sort.
Warriors squints. Are they…are they hurling those strange, little creatures off of Skyloft to see them fly back? Well, not anymore, because here comes Twilight to save the poor things. Not that they had seemed to mind much…
The rancher catches Warriors watching and shakes his head.
Can you believe these two? His gaze seems to ask.
Warriors dredges up a dry smirk.
Try dealing with that behavior 24/7, he mouths.
Twilight frowns. I do, is his silent response. Then, his brows dip further, expression losing its exasperated humor. He walks forward, a tiny creature cradled in his arms. Still very much paralyzed, Warriors watches helplessly as he advances.
“Rancher,” he says, cordially, once the hero is beside him – or more in front of him. (Why Twilight has chosen to stand with his toes off the edge of the island, Warriors has absolutely no idea. All he knows is that it makes his legs go numb. He forces himself to look forward instead.)
“Captain,” Twilight replies. He shifts and Warriors’ stomach somersaults. “Are you doin’ alright? You look a little pale.”
“Do I?” Warriors chuckles. It sounds too harsh, too loud. “Must not be spending enough time in the sun.”
Twilight gives him an unenthused look. Warriors grins. The expression feels as wrong as his laugh. Too wide, too brittle.
Why does everything just seem off right now?
“Don’t worry about me, rancher. I’m alright.”
Twilight studies him for a moment, eyes narrowed. He opens his mouth, no doubt gearing up to pry further. But Four’s voice rings out before he can, beckoning him to come inspect one thing or another. Warriors can’t truly make out the words. Maybe that’s because his ears are filled with the sound of rushing wind.
Is it the wind? Or is it coming from inside of him, stealing away his remaining balance and setting his stomach churning?
“Well, take care of yourself,” Twilight says. He sets a hand on Warriors’ shoulder, with a small smile. “And be careful. Can’t have you fallin’ off the edge there.”
Warriors looks down and immediately regrets it. He hardly registers Twilight walking away, doesn’t hear his brother’s lively voices as they enjoy the wonders of Sky’s home. All he can see is the drop off he is certain that he is mere inches from plunging off of. His line of vision narrows, darkening at the edges, and he stumbles back, arms wrapped protectively around his middle.
“Captain?” Time is suddenly holding him, keeping him from toppling. “Are you well?”
Warriors swallows hard. “Fine, Sprite.
“Just fine.”
It’s only the lack of a substantial breakfast that morning that prevents him from getting sick all over the old man’s shoes. ----------------
The next few days are torture. Warriors does his best to keep his distance from the edges of the island. But it is nearly impossible in a place so compact as Skyloft. And the sparse fences constructed around hardly seem enough to keep him from plunging off.
So, he spends most of his time indoors (praying to any goddess who may listen that there won’t be a sudden earthquake that sends the building careening down into nothingness).
His excuses are few and paltry.
“I don’t feel well.” “I’m tired after the journey.” “I need to think about an actual plan to track down the Shadow before he gets too far ahead.”
The heroes can see right through him – he is certain of it. And none more than Time.
“Tell me what I can do, captain,” he says one night when Warriors awakens screaming after a dream of plunging into a sky of flame. (And wow, does that commotion help him maintain his secrecy and uphold his reputation. He’s doing wonderfully.) “Please, I want to help.”
Warriors’ breath hitches as he slumps into his little brother’s arms. Here, with the two of them there is nothing to hide anyway. He couldn’t even if he tried.
“You can get me off this cursed island,” he says, with a dry chuckle. “That would be lovely.”
Time merely sighs and holds him closer.
They both know he can’t do that.
…just as he cannot keep away the monsters the Shadow sends after them the next day.
Venturing outside of the academy to fight off a hoard of monsters is not exactly something Warriors had wanted to do. He is a hero, however, and he refuses to leave his brothers to battle them alone. So, out he comes into the light of the day, with his heart in his throat and his chest feeling like Ganondorf is sitting on top of it.
“I’m sorry that you have to do this,” Time murmurs as they head toward the tell tale screeches (in the plaza, of course).
Warriors shrugs, somewhat stiffly. “Who knows? I could get lucky.” He sends Time a grin and plunges his sword into the first of the monsters. “Maybe the Shadow will open another portal.”
Time smirks. “Perhaps, he will.”
-----------------
The fight drags on all morning. Warriors fares well enough through it. He remains in the center of the plaza as often as he can and his brothers take care of the stragglers around the edges. He does his best not to look at them when they toe the edge, heedless of certain death less than inches away.
And he fights on with the same ferocity as he always does.
…until about midmorning. Because that’s when the moblin shows up.
It is one of Sky’s – hulking and corpulent and capable of taking at least ten bokoblins with one hefty swing of its spear. But he has fought this kind before. With a smirk, he rushes forward to engage it.
He hacks away at its shield easily, then readies himself to dodge as it roars in rage. It rears back, then bends its head, smoke puffing out of its nostrils.
Warriors raises an eyebrow. He hefts his sword more firmly into his hand.
“You gonna come and get me?”
It roars again and breaks into a run. He steels himself, tensed for the strike. One second, two, three…
“Warriors look out!”
Something hits him from behind – something big and bulky and heavy. It slams into his side, breaking bones on impact. He gasps, vision going spotty.
And suddenly he is flying. His feet leave the ground and he is tumbling, head over heels through the air. The world is a blur of color, up is down and left is right. He is almost certain that he’s going to be sick.
Then, it’s over. He hits the ground in a tangle of limbs and fabric. Blood fills his mouth and he chokes on it.
“Captain!”
Running feet sound in his ears. He blinks, dazedly, trying to bring everything back into focus. It feels like the moblin has taken to tap dancing on his skull.
“Ugh…”
“Captain!”
There is panic in that voice, he realizes sluggishly. There must be a reason for that, there has to be…
His vision clears just enough that he can make out a gigantic something looming above him. He tries to push himself up for a better look, but his upper half seems to be on a slightly different level than his bottom half. When he allows himself to lay down fully he sees only sky.
Ah…that would explain it.
Panic pierces him far deeper than any spear ever could. He digs his fingernails into the grooves in the pavement, gritting his teeth against the pain and oncoming unconsciousness.
Don’t pass out. Don’t pass out…
“Captain!”
He tries once more to pull himself up and fails.
Warriors lets out a grow of aggravation. He really wishes his brothers would exert more energy on fighting off this thing and getting him back on land than yelling his title repeatedly.
…though maybe he has heard it a few more times than they have really said it.
The monster raises its weapon just as Twilight comes out of nowhere, leaping forward to skewer it. The rancher’s sword strikes home seconds before the monster’s can, piercing it through. And the next thing Warriors knows, he’s staring up at the concerned face of his brother.
“Are you alright?”
Twilight leans forward, grabbing his hand and supporting his back as he drags him away from the edge. Warriors slumps against him with a relieved sigh.
“Just great,” he slurs and Twilight chuckles.
“Don’t worry. We’ll get you a potion and you’ll be just – ”
Warriors isn’t entirely certain what happens. He is too dazed to comprehend the events that occur in quick succession.
One moment he is held in Twilight’s arms and the next, the rancher is wrenched away from him with a grunt of pain and shock. Then, something collides with Warriors’ chest…
And he’s falling.
His stomach turns to lead, the wind rushes past at breakneck speeds, his scarf tangles about his limbs. Panic courses through his veins, beating in time with his pounding head and thumping heart. It encases him like a vice, paralyzing him, chasing away all other feelings, all other sensations save for icy, thick, undefeatable terror.
Warriors shuts his eyes and grits his teeth. He can’t breathe. He’s going to be sick, he’s sure of it.
…Or maybe he’ll die before that happens. Maybe he’ll collide with the hard ground and in a quiet, contained explosion of agony be gone.
And after he had just gotten up the courage to propose to Arty too. Isn’t that just his luck.
“Hold on, Wars!”
An inhuman cry rings out, free and brave and strangely familiar. In the next moment Warriors’ lands with something blessedly solid. Arms wrap around him, warm and strong. A heart beats fast beneath the chest he collapses against.
“I’ve got you, captain,” Sky breathes. “I’ve got you.”
He drapes his sail cloth over Warriors’ trembling shoulders. Warriors clutches it so tightly his fingers ache.
“Get me somewhere low to the ground,” he whispers, in between haggard breaths. “Please.”
“Don’t worry.” Sky’s voice is kind. “I’m bringing you to the Surface.”
The Surface. That sounds promising. Warriors can only hope that it is as solidly on the ground as the name suggests.
He won’t see it if it is, though. He keeps his eyes stubbornly closed the entire trip.
---------------
The Surface, it turns out, is just plain, old Hyrule. Which, in Warriors’ book, is pure heaven.
“I still can’t believe no one thought to tell me about this place,” he gripes as he limps out of Sky and Sun’s cozy, little cottage, two days later. “Why would anyone want to stay up in the sky when we could be down here, on the ground?”
Twilight smirks. The rancher has been cooped up with him for the last few days as they healed from the injuries they got on Skyloft. And Warriors has to admit that he has appreciated his company.
“I still can’t believe you’re afraid of heights.” Twilight grins innocently at him. “The great Captain of the Hyrulean Army, scared of a little sky island.”
His tone is light and teasing and Warriors feels no pain from the jabs. But he scowls anyway.
“I’m scared of falling off a ‘little sky island.’ Which, coincidentally, I did and nearly died. Given that, I’d say the fear is warranted.”
Twilight hums. “So, what you’re saying is fear of heights is really a fear of falling.”
Warriors sighs. He looks out over the small town Sky and Sun are building, smiling slightly as he spots Time and Wind fishing in a nearby stream. It’s lovely, really, how he’ll be able to enjoy those activities with them now that he isn’t trapped in the grip of nauseating fear.
“I don’t know, rancher,” he says, shrugging. “Call it what you want. All I can say is that I want my feet firmly on the ground.”
