speaking of 2016, we watched it over the last week and i genuinely think vale could have won that season if he’d been a but more lucky/had made fewer mistakes. i think maybe he still hadn’t “locked in” after 2015 :( but happy for marc ofc

(with the caveat im getting my info from this reddit thread): one of the retirements was a technical issue (mugello), and the other three where him trying to either override (austin) or just losing the front (assen and motegi). i think its important to know that this was the first year they made the switch to michelin tires, and one of the big topics for the 2016 season was that the front michelin tire would just. give up and you'd lose the front with zero warning. i think that this change benefitted marc for a lot of reasons (adaptability being one, it also just fit the characteristics of the honda p well being another), not least of all being his ability to make spooky front end saves on the honda in crazy circumstances. kind of his bread and butter and not really smth vale was known for at this point. so i think marc was just. sorry but overall built a lil better for a season like this, even though vale had pace

to get to YOUR point sorry yes hello. hi. of course luck comes into every season (he probably could have won in mugello...), but i was actually thinking over like. the pecco of it all in this context. because a big reason he kept crashing this year was because the michelin REAR was so much better than the front, and it would push the front and cause pecco to crash with very little warning. similar, right? well then i got to thinking about sprints. and interestingly, if we double the amount of races they had in 2016 to simulate the modern season sprint format and double the DNFs along with it (maybe a little unfair but whatevs), he would have 8 DNFs in four less overall races (36 vs 40) then pecco. and he still beat jorge lorenzo p handily. which is interesting. idk all this to say. twins.

midnight blue velvet suit — fitted to the figure, buttoned up with gold accents. a white silk shirt, unbuttoned at least to the midchest. y'know, cuz it gets hot as fuck out here. tailored slacks to match the jacket, tapered down to my usual steel toed snakeskin shoes. slits in the shirt and jacket for my wings, of course.

and i got these custom gloves with gold tips on the fingers— it's kind of a sick fuckin' touch, really.
