A fake crime-doer and a bunch of very real crimers do One Last Big Heist in the cyberpunk future while being hunted down by the government. Previous poll near-winner, I’ve heard it’s fun, tragic, and possibly even based. Comes most highly recommended of these shows.

Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki, by Urobuchi, Nasu, the Durarara guy, one of Kamen Rider Blade’s two writers Shou Aikawa, and two of their friends. It’s a TTRPG adventure! where they each play only one character! God, I NEED to see a show where Gen Urobuchi writes ONLY ONE character! Ultimately it’s a story about a small kingdom’s king trying to stop two larger countries from destroying his smaller one, which feels interesting bc it’s rare to get any TTRPG campaign where there is A Protagonist...

Girls’ Last Tour, source material by the shimeji simulation author, Tsukumizu. Cozy adventures through an apocalyptic dying world. I don’t do well with apocalyptic settings, but I love Shimeji Simulation a lot and I’ve heard so many good things about this one that I wanna give it a shot.

Mermaid Forest, by Rumiko Takahashi, of Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura. Two immortals who ate mermaids travel to find another mermaid in the hopes they can make them mortal once more. One of those classic kinda tales, and I really wanna see a rumic story that’s.....not 150 eps long...

Magical☆Shopping Arcade Abenobashi BY Hideaki Anno, of Shin Kamen Rider, Shin Godzilla, and Shin Ultraman. What if you were isekaied but it was just into a mall. A wacky hyperdimensional mall. The tone seems extremely lolrandomxd, and it’s one of Anno’s few 12 ep works.

RErideD: Derrida, who leaps through time, character designs by Yoshitoshi ABe of serial experiments lain and Haibane Renmei fame. Guy who made robots gets frozen and wakes up to a robot war, oh fuck. Oh fuck, he’s supposed to protect his best friend’s daughter! AAAAAAAA! Disaster!!! I’m not sure whether he leaps through time any more than once. though.

Katanagatari, by NISIOISIN, creator of Bakemonogatari and Medaka Box. What if a swordless swordsman teamed up with an ambitious shogunate villainess to fulfill her scheme of stealing 12 legendary swords. One of them quality straights kinda shows NisioisiN loves making, seems to have a fun power system that I wanna experience. One of the ones I’ve seen around on tumblr that made me wanna get into liveblogging.

Kino’s Journey, scripted by Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and Perfect Blue writer Murai Sadayuki, a writer I really think deserves more credit. Does crazy good work in adaptations. Nonbinary adventurer and talking bike go through different parables, functioning as observers of different forms of society and different ways of life.

Hollywood star Dan Stevens can currently be seen in the blockbuster “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” in cinemas. The film is currently topping the box office charts and is number one worldwide. We met the charismatic actor in Los Angeles and talked to him about his current film, his next two projects and his choice of roles.

Can you share with us your first reaction when you were offered a role in Godzilla x Kong: The new empire? It's always a pleasure to work with the same people several times, but this time it was extra special as Adam Wingard, the director, is an old friend. I was also invited to play with an even older friend, Rebecca Hall, as well as Brian Tyree Henry, who I have known and admired for years. It felt like I was being asked to play with friends.

What was it like entering the universe of these iconic monsters? Did you have any ideas or expectations? It's a fun task to be asked to stretch one's imagination to the size of such cinematic titans! I've worked with CGI on an epic scale before, so it wasn't too foreign, and I was surprised at how many practical locations we had.

How did you prepare for your role in this blockbuster? Were there any unique challenges or exciting moments during filming? It was really exciting to shoot in the Australian outback, in the Daintree rainforest - this incredible ancient jungle. That sense of adventure on the way to work every day, passing crocodiles along the river banks, waiting for pythons to be removed from the set, really fueled the mood for the Hollow Earth walk in the film.

“Godzilla x Kong: The new empire” promises to be an epic clash. Without giving too much away, can you give us a hint as to how your character fits into the plot? Trapper is initially brought in to help Kong with his toothache - he is a vet for all Titan creatures - and is then approached by Rebecca Hall's character, Dr. Andrews, invited to the mission. He's a kind of happy, carefree Han Solo type, good to have around, tirelessly optimistic and impressed by little.

The film contains a lot of CGI and visual effects. What was your experience like acting in such an environment and how did it differ from previous roles? I've worked with this type of thing before so it wasn't too scary. I actually really enjoy working with a VFX team and helping to create something using our entire collective imagination. It's truly incredible to see what they achieve long after you've left the process.

Were you a fan of the Godzilla or Kong films before joining this project? How does it feel to be part of their legacy? I feel like I've known these characters my whole life: they are such an integral part of cinema history. I've loved seeing them in all their different iterations over the years and of course being asked to perform alongside them - and even fix their teeth - is a huge honor!

The film will have some intense action scenes. Can you describe one of your most memorable moments while filming these scenes? While it's not the most intense scene, the way my character is introduced - rappelling from a floating vehicle into Kong's mouth to perform large-scale dental work - was one of the more exciting stunts I had to do!

How do you think fans of the franchise will react to Godzilla x Kong: The new empire? What can they look forward to most? I want them to enjoy the ride! You'll see things you've never seen before and meet some fantastic new creatures and characters, but also maybe some familiar fan favorites...

You also have the film "ABIGAIL" coming out in April. Can you tell us a little about filming and what audiences can expect? This is a completely different kind of thrill! Essentially, it's a vampire ballerina heist movie - you know the kind - directed by the Radio Silence guys, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who specialize in a particularly wacky brand of horror-comedy that I love .

“CUCKOO” will also be released in the summer. What particularly interested you about this film? Tilman Singer, the director, is a truly exciting new voice in cinema - he has a very distinctive style that is so captivating and artfully disturbing. I was also very curious to work with Hunter Schafer, the lead actress of Cuckoo, who is such a bright and brilliant artistic soul.

Your career is so dynamic. How do you go about choosing a role? I crave variety, challenge and surprise, so I'm often guided by the search for those things, but it can also be a certain quality in the writing, a desire to work with certain directors or actors. It's different every time!

the thing about me is that I will absolutely shamelessly give my favorite little minor character who has cubed me a disproportionate amount of narrative significance than he actually has, BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THAT is that he (Clockblocker) actually honestly and truly DOES have one of the biggest impacts of any character.

like i know they were not giving out medals for the sake of preventing infighting after the leviathan fight, but Clockblocker damn well deserves one because quite literally everyone would have died had he not frozen the Titanic Waterbending Godzilla in time for several whole minutes allowing the remaining capes critical time to re-strategize and hold out for Scion. Additionally. everyone Also would have died had Skitter not been able to utilize his power to slice That Thang (Echidna) in twain. Two (2) S-Class threats within months of each other and he turned the tides on both of them.

it’s like. it’s honestly a testament to what Tattletale was saying about how a lot of parahumans never really get the chance to understand the full extent of their powers because they’re never under the right circumstances to do so. because if you think about it purely in situations like the bank heist or party crash early on in the book, Clockblocker’s power really isn’t anything to write home about. and if they lived in a reality where things like that were the biggest threats around he would probably stay that way!

but they don’t live in that reality. they DO live in a world with towering kaiju endbringers that threaten the planet every three months and they DO live in a world where monstrous parahuman accidents like echidna are likely to pop up, and it’s because of this product of circumstance that you can make a legitimate case for Clockblocker having one of the strongest powers in terms of utility. he lives in a reality where his niche is allowed to shine!

and it’s this kinda thinking that makes the fact that he is—at the end of the day—Just A Minor Character, so incredibly compelling because it further illustrates the idea that This Could Be Anybody. under the right circumstances, any parahuman could find their otherwise mid-level power suddenly become the most pivotal role in a survival setting. or the most dangerous! it opens up the floor to a wealth of possibilities.

like say what you want, and i do concede that of course my darling boy Dennis doesn’t hold the same narrative significance that any of the major characters do, but when you look at his role in the story from this perspective, He Really Is Kind Of A Big Deal.

*Hatsune Miku voice* ~Women~: I know this is the piss on the poor website, so upfront disclaimer about how this is not in reference to actual living, breathing, IRL people (HAVE WE ALL UNDERSTOOD THAT?!?), but I am fucking sick of men! "Male" has been the default gender, the default POV in stories for eons now, and I'm tired of it! Men bore me!!! I want to write about men the way misogynist men write about women - in that there is only one of them (if any at all!!!), and they're only there to advance the female character's story (by being fridged, most likely!!!)! I want to write about WOMEN!!!! I want to write about them being cunning and clever, as badasses and bastards, as both the princess and the knight!!! You know, like how women actually are in real life!!! Decentralize men? Honey, they're not even in my orbit!!! NO BOYS ALLOWED!!!! I'M EXHAUSTED!!!!!

Monsters as metaphors: Tale as old as time here, but I love it when a creature is actually a stand in for something a little more abstract. Vampires as a the fear of foreigners come to despoil our delicate Victorian sensibilities, Godzilla as the spectre of nuclear annihilation, werewolves as the visceral and horrifying changes girls go through when they enter puberty, that's some good shit!!! Any time I have some kind of monster in any of my stories, please know that it actually represents something else!

When a plan comes together: I love when people are in cahoots, when they get up to shenanigans, when games are afoot and capers are carried out! Heists? Delicious. When it looks like the antagonists have thwarted the protagonist's plans, but that was actually accounted for in the plans all along and they've actually fallen even deeper into the protagonist's web?! SUBLIME.

Hashtag Squad Goals: Having people grouped up for whatever arbitrary reason the plot demands is such a neat little way to get to play with a bunch of different dynamics all at once! These two are ride or die, but these two don't see eye to eye, and yet they're all the best of buds! How does that work?! I love getting to show the ins and outs of that!

Ancient Aliens: I don't mean the concept that all historical feats of engineering carried out by non-White™️ cultures were actually done by aliens (THAT concept makes me fucking furious!!!), but instead the theory of panspermia, of life originating elsewhere in the universe and being seeded across the stars. My favourite flavour of THAT is life originating on Earth, but then being brought elsewhere, with humans as basically food stock for some more advanced race! I was digging through my WIP pile the other day, and I realized that concept crops up A LOT for me!

i see... mostly though i'm more perplexed by how anyone involved with call of duty managed to create a parody sentai that looks... maybe not like a real toei brand team per se but could very easily be real local heroes.

Abigail (Frank) - this one i just now planned out thanks to jen BUT me thinks i’m joey’s cousin or friend who comes along to the heist for moral support since i had no beef or business with abigail or his business so i fr was just an outsider with no connection. idk what my made up name would be (ofc maybe ‘Bunny’ or ‘Rabbit’ i don’t know), but obviously me and frank form a kinda weird bond since he’s an asshole but understands i shouldnt of been there to begin with. (I have more but it delves into spoiler territory so ill prob do a seperate post for that!)

Godzilla x Kong (Trapper) - my s/i is alreasy pre established in the monsterverse (been there since godzilla 2014 :3) so i’ve already got that kaiju experience plentyfold! I’m a kaiju researcher mainlu delving into how they function and i love to sketch and observe them.. i work at the monarch base that ilene and trapper work at which is how i meet him >_< !! both of us being big kaiju lovers since he’s kong’s veternarian and i love love to doodle kaijus hehehehe

Night at the Museum (Lancelot) - just like my monsterverse s/i i think i’m also present for the first two movies :) starting off as somebody who just goes to the museum to relax and sketch then becoming a guide myself! A while after the second movie ends i end up getting transferred to the london museum seen in 3 and find myself relaxing the most in the exhibit Lancelot resides.. (yall getting lisa frankenstein vibes from this- 💥) anywayss once larry and the crew arrive and the london museum comes to life SO DOES LANCELOT AND OUR MEETCUTE BEGINS. The visual I have in mind @ me securing the tablet and he has to snatch me up and takes me + the tablet away on his horse… GET ME OUT!!!!!!!

The Guest (David) - ok you can see now i’m in too deep fr anywayss obviously david survives the first movie and i imagine is back on his bs @ pretending to be somebody he isn’t. like i imagine i come home from work to see him on my porch and him explaining he was waiting for me since he heard i knew the petersons and came to break the news that they died since he was a “family friend”. and obviously since i’m not smart i’d have him stay with me since he’d still be limping/have wounds from what happened (he’d claim it’s cuz he tried to fight back who killed them) so i fix him up and have him stay with me.. AND OBSESSION ON HIS END FORMS. ofc im just as obsessed with him but literally he would go after anybody who tried to mess with me and id be like ahahaha ok :))

Idea for a MonsterVerse x MCU x Transformers au

(Did you know that some Godzilla and Transformers comics were written by Marvel? Godzilla was even in the main Marvel comics)

Monarch is founded before Shield and are basically rival organizations that hate each other’s guts. Monarch deals with Titans, while Shield deals with everything else.

Kong: Skull Island takes place and Monarch begins Monitoring Kong.

In the 80’s, the Autobots and Decepticons wake up from their millions of years slumber. The Autobots find a young Sam Witwicky and team up with him, Shield takes notes of Sam and the Transformers and they recruit Sam into a new division of Shield dedicated to Transformers called NEST.

Captain Marvel happens.

The MCU films from Iron Man to Thor, Tony discovers stolen Monarch technology that his dad stole from Monarch, it contains information on Titans.

The events of Godzilla happen earlier during Fury’s big week. Now Fury has Godzilla on his radar.

The Transformers are very interested in Godzilla and the other Titans like Kong. The Autobots want them as allies. While the Decepticons want to control them to take over Earth.

The Avengers happens, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee join with the rest of the Avengers. Godzilla senses the power of the Tesseract and he heads towards New York to investigate. He helps the Avengers take out the Chitauri, and becomes an Avenger. He sticks around after the battle since Optimus and Captain America somehow convinced him to stay.

Years later, Ant-Man jokes that he could shrink down Godzilla.

In Age of Ultron, some Autobots are affected by Ultron and Ultron teams up with Megatron, so the Avengers and the Autobots fight Ultron together.

In Civil War, Transformers aren’t involved and don’t pick a side.

Vulture has combined Chitauri and Transformer tech, but Peter still stops him, he runs into Hot Rod along the way.

Infinity War happens and Godzilla rushes to Wakanda to fight Thanos. Hot Rod goes with Peter to space. Thanos still wins since he held Godzilla with the power stone. Many Transformers are dusted, but Optimus and Bumblebee survive. Hot Rod doesn’t, Godzilla and Kong aren’t dusted.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters happens one year after the snap, Tony tries to help Monarch with Godzilla.

Godzilla vs Kong happens before the Time Heist. Some Transformer parts are used in MechaGodzilla’s creation.

The Time Heist happens and in the final battle all the Autobots, Avengers, Godzilla, and Kong fight Thanos together and Tony snaps his fingers.

Every other movie happens and the Transformers help with displaced blipped people.

Godzilla x Kong happens and Ant-Man helps along with Wheeljack. Ant-Man helps Mothra calm down Godzilla and Scott fist bumps Kong. Scott helps defeat Skar King and shrinks him down after Shimo is freed from Skar King’s grasp. Kong crushes Skar King under his foot.

Ten years ago I gave myself the challenge of watching 52 films in 52 weeks. I called it, "If you want to direct, watch things." My goal was to learn what I liked, why, and to encourage myself to write.

I exceeded my objective and ended my year with 150 films. I learned a little more about myself and what I could accomplish.

Over the years, I have lost motivation for my personal wellbeing. I've been overworked, stressed, depressed, unable to focus - but I'm feeling better now.

Well, there's official halloween art of Laios dressed up as cerberus, so i think Myce would join him by dressing up as her favorite monster, the basilisk! ^_^

Usagi and Korosensei would match as Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask :3 (ft a silly doodle i made... but honestly they could both dress up as either one lol)

🎟 - What would a movie date with your f/o look like?

(Modern AU) Myce and Laios are going to watch Shin Godzilla, and nobody can stop them!!! hehehe ^_^ they would more often than not have movie dates at home, they just feel more comfy that way. If Laios is over at Myce's place, they're cuddled up on her couch watching movies on the TV, and if Myce is over at the Touden's place, she and Laios are laying squished together on his bed watching movies on his laptop :)

I do think that Courier would find a way to play movies on the big screen in the Lucky 38's penthouse. They and Yes Man would sift through all the old holotapes Mr. House had and just pick out whichever ones had interesting titles written on them. They'd close the curtains on the big penthouse windows to block out the lights of New Vegas, gather a bunch of pillows and blankets and make a big comfy pile to lay on, and Courier would try to see if there were any old bags of instant popcorn that they could make. Yes Man likes romantic and mystery movies, while Courier likes sci-fi (and also romance). If the movie they pick turns out to be a horror movie, Courier will try to act like they're not scared, but then end up cuddling closer to Yes Man and not leave his side even after the movie is over >_< (Yes Man would always tease them a little, but then reassure them that they're safe with him. no murderer or scary monster can outrun a missile!)

In the wasteland, however, Courier would definitely want to fix up the old Mojave Drive-In theater when they stumble across it. They'd make their own projector and set up a little date spot for them and Victor, where they'd sit next to him on their motorbike and watch westerns and the occasional sci-fi or heist movie under the stars ^_^
