Based on your post @sassyassblog 😁:
Tumblr media
P.S. I'm using the MonsterVerse Kaijus as humans since this is also from my GenAU MV Edition. So no worries.
Here's the scenario:
"Man..." thought Godzilla as he walked tiredly towards his mansion, "I need a quick nap..."
Turning around making sure no one was sneaking at him, he knelt down to the front door and snag a key he secretly kept from a carpet. He opened the door and enter before closing it shut.
The man took off his shoes and socks before putting it on a casket beside the door. His darkish black to navy blue hair is in mess due to the extreme heat back from where he work at a city and also in due course of his job. As usual, he often comes late at home since his wife, Mothra, usually is first to arrived home shortly before himself.
Still, she's not here, so maybe Godzilla need an extra free range of their cozy house. Once his wife arrived home, he smirked at the deal that he told her a few days ago.
He needs to arrange a few things.
It was already 5:15 PM, Godzilla thought about his best friends. Most likely, Rodan, Anguirus and Kong were sometimes having a sleepover with him (which Mothra denies it for their unruly manners, something that Godzilla feared for her anger), only for 2 days. Or even a week if there's an activity going around the mansion he and Mothra owned. Currently, Rodan had finally found a job as a chef from a local restaurant, Anguirus deliberately needed to pass an exam to be a history teacher, and Kong...well...he's still a policeman and work tirelessly to earn some savings for his adoptive deaf daughter Jia and her adoptive mother Ilene Andrews.
Success earns hardwork and support, that's something Mothra - yes, she is a science and art teacher - reminded them for their lives.
Anyway, just as Godzilla was about to head upstairs...
"LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKK AT ME~"
He jumped from a sudden breakout of a familiar voice that scared the shit of his pants. Well, whoever broke in to his home without permission shall get the beat out of their shit in no mercy, he swore it.
Instantly, the man heard a sound of a running water coming across the bathroom (the door was practically open slightly). Carefully not to make any noise, Godzilla tiptoed from the source, only for his eyes scanned from something he just ever seen in the entire motherfucking world.
"WHAT THE FU-"
"TELL ME WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATT YOU SEE~"
Standing in the middle of a shower is none other than RODAN!
By the looks of it, his back was on a curtains, showering by himself, and practically naked (well, half naked to be exact). The fiery red haired Mexican man didn't seem to bother that Godzilla was there peeping. In his hand was a brush used to scrub on a skin, preferrably the ones that Mothra used it.
Damn, of all places...
"AM I GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODD OR BAD~"
Godzilla had never been slack-jawed of how fucking awesome Rodan's singing voice is. I mean, he had seen Rodan singing crazily after drinking a shot too much back from their old times sake, which he and even Kong dragged him all because of his violent manner after having a fight with some unwanted men from a bar. But this one...
"Woah..." Godzilla breathed, "Rody's not so bad with that voice, I bet some girls would swoon over him if he was a celebrity."
"DON'T YOU JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDDGGEE SO FAST~"
But as Rodan twirled around...
"Hey, hey, hey-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Rodan let out a mightiest girlish scream of the entire mansion, almost shook off the ass out of his confidence. His eyes wide as dinner plates when he saw Godzilla on the door peeping, who was indeed startled by the redhaired man's scream.
Knowing he is caught red-handed, and indeed naked, he covered himself with his arms and hands, purposely snagged a towel beside the sink and wrapped it around his waist, before marching towards Godzilla and slammed the door shut.
"What was that for, Rodan?!" Godzilla growled.
"Like indeed you are peeping me without knocking!" Rodan bites back.
"Oh really? Then you should've closed it before your bird-brain of yours!"
"You just entered my-our own house without texting me?!" Godzilla said angrily, "You know what happens when Mothra finds out just like what happened to you and Ghidorah!"
"That's in the past now, we'll never do it again! I promised!"
"Then what are you fucking doing here?!"
Rodan slowly opens the door with a dull expression...
"...I'm running out of water back from my apartment and I haven't pay a rent so..." He gave him a puppy eyes.
Oh great. Just fucking great.
Rodan had barely payed a rent just to avoid himself kicked out by the landowner. Many times, he would got himself into trouble, and Godzilla and Kong even needed to bail him out because of that.
Godzilla sighed heavily, massaging his temples just to avoid 10 times headache and all.
"Okay, fine! I'll gave you a cash."
Rodan beamed.
"But! I'm not taking any chances! You need to worked harder, and you're already hired as a chef. I'm counting on you, Rody."
"Gracias mi mejor amigo."
"Now hurry up before Mothra finds out and gonna beat you out of your daylights."
"Okay!"
"BTW, Rodan..." Godzilla leaned over the wall, "I didn't know you have a wonderful singing voice."
"R-Really?"
"Yeah, good thing nobody would notice your quite voice and good looks..."
"And that you are indeed a good singer."
Godzilla and Rodan are startled by another voice, because that voice was no other than Godzilla's wife and His Queen, Mothra.
Sweat trickled down their foreheads, seeing the expression of the white-haired woman...
"Now..."
Oh boy.....
Outside, infinite babblings and pleading were heard followed by a loud smack as Godzilla and Rodan are deserved to be punished.
But at the same time, Mothra quitely likes the singing voice of the red-haired man, but hated the fact that Rodan dared to enter their house without permission.
Lesson learned, Rodan, the Fire Demon.
~✦~
From @adm-starblitzsteel-4305
Also, the song Rodan sang in the bathroom was titled "Good Tonight" by Daniel Pemberton and Anthony Ramos from the movie The Bad Guys.
Also, my MV Rodan's voice actor is Anthony Ramos. I thought that would be fun since Ramos voiced Mr. Piranha. 😁
And I am still looking for MV Mothra's voice actress while my MV Godzilla's voice actor is Keith David.
Well anyway, have fun reading it!

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (Quick Review)
Tumblr media
Director: Adam Wingard, Screenplay: Terry Rossio, Simon Barret, and Jeremy Slater
Resurrecting this inactive blog and copy pasting this from over on my Letterboxd because I need to spread the word about this movie as much as possible!
No Spoilers, fwiw:
Well...
This fucking owns!
Easily the best stuff from Godzilla vs Kong was Kong journey to discover more about himself and his connections to the Monsterverse's delightfully bonkers lore around The Hollow Earth. Positioning him as a member of an honorable line of warriors.
The New Empire effectively triples down on that by making Kong this movie's actual protagonist over any of the human characters (who are pretty fun to watch and play their support roles in this plot damn well.) The giant ape's story playing out as a quest for purpose within his new home in the Hollow Earth. One he discovers once he comes across other apes like him living under the tyrannical fist of the Skar King. Kong's challenge becomes figuring out how to get his rival Titan, Godzilla, on his side for the inevitable showdown with this new threat.
It's a highly fantastical tale, made better by the fact that this movie trusts the audience to follow along with it as plays out wordlessly. Only having the human characters directly commentate on it after the important actions have played out.
And all of this would be enough to leave me satisfied, but this movie actually has a fair amount of surprises up its sleeve that none of the marketing gave away.
So I'll just say, if you've been enjoying the Monsterverse up to this point, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is more than worth your time!

Tiny Review: Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire 2024. Violent kids show.
Tumblr media
There’s a thin theme of parenting. With the relationship of Ilene and Jia on the line, and the lone ape and cub scenes. It’s all cursory to final fight.
The closing mom-daughter moment could have hit harder, more emotional, imo.
Tumblr media
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a 2024 American monster film directed by Adam Wingard. It is the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen.

Kong x Godzilla: A New Empire is a different movie entirely than the last entry. (Godzilla V. Kong) Needless to say, if you’re a Godzilla fan, it’s a good year for you. With ‘Minus One’ a few months ago and now this, it’s a good year for monster fans. However if it’s between this film or Minus One, the better film is absolutely Minus One. This is because the human aspects of this film are not there at all. As a matter of fact, it is entirely a Kong and Godzilla film, with hardly any dialogue even. While there is human scenes and a cast of 3 main characters, it felt either unnecessary or extremely cheesy. Just because Guardians of the Galaxy has 80’s music does NOT MEAN you need to add it in every movie. It came off as extremely cheesy to see my two favorite creatures fighting side by side or gearing up to fight the antagonist with Kiss playing “I was made for loving you.” Which leads me to my next point, the dialogue between the humans when apparent comes off as low effort. While the actors do a great job with what they’re given, the script needed a bit more work in this aspect, ESPECIALLY compared to the last movie which personally had a more gripping human narrative. With the negatives out of the way, let’s talk about the action. It was awesome. Seeing King Kong piggy back off Godzilla charging into battle in a hollowed Antarctica will get anyone hyped. Of course the two get in a slight altercation like the last film, it’s done exceptionally well with some surprise appearances from monsters not yet seen in this universe. Every action scene will leave you on the edge of your seat and worth the price of admission alone. Guys in the end, Kong x Godzilla is a fun action film that shouldn’t be taken too serious. Don’t go in expecting a story like Minus One and a few lore changes which throw off die hard Godzilla fans like myself, yet still is an enjoyable film that is so cheesy it’s almost good. I’m going to give Kong x Godzilla a 6 out of 10!
+ Great action scenes
+ New monsters are welcome additions
+ CGI is jaw dropping
- Very poor dialogue
- Some poor human characters and story directions
- Way too much 80’s music.

Kaiju Week in Review (June 18-24, 2023)
Tumblr media
The big news of the week, of course, was Netflix finally releasing Skull Island, the first new Monsterverse story in over two years. It's a surprisingly standalone piece, with no Monarch and minimal references to Kong: Skull Island, and going off his Twitter, creator Brian Duffield largely prefers to let the work speak for itself. I have quibbles with some of the creature designs—not enough florafauna!—and the characters can be too flippant about their life-threatening circumstances, but overall I had a good time. Annie's a great character—think Saeko from Son of Godzilla as a bloodthirsty teenager—and the obligatory Titan nemesis is a cut above most of the Monsterverse's original creatures.
As for its future, Season 2 is already written and recorded, but won't happen unless Netflix sees big enough viewing numbers for Season 1. I'm frustrated by that, especially given how many loose ends the season finale had, but it's pretty typical stuff from the company.
Tumblr media
Dismal news about the American Shin Ultraman Blu-ray/DVD from Cleopatra Entertainment: they didn't bother to include translations for the ample on-screen Japanese text. That was enough for me to cancel my preorder; I tend to be pretty tolerant of the various unforced errors by the companies releasing this stuff, but that level of laziness (the translations already exist!) just renders the discs pointless in my eyes.
Tumblr media
Toho is crowdfunding another Showa suit replica for a character's 50th anniversary this year... Jet Jaguar! If successful (or semi-successful, like last year's Gigan campaign), it'll feature in a new short film to premiere on November 3, as has been tradition since 2020. Interesting that they went for Jet Jaguar over Megalon; I suppose he'd be cheaper to produce, and the largest film studio in Japan seems hellbent on hamstringing these wonderful little shorts.
Tumblr media
Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #1 is out. Hard to judge it so far as it's mostly setup.
Tumblr media
In other news related to Godzilla vs. Megalon's 50th, Bandai will release a Movie Monster Series figure of the 1973 Godzilla (MegaroGoji) on July 28 as a Godzilla Store exclusive. Pretty big news, as they've only released figures of the tweaked '74 and '75 suits previously, and those were back in 2003 and 2004, respectively. NECA didn't get to this one either.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) review
Tumblr media
Someone should call child services, as Kong uses a baby monkey as a weapon and flails him around like a whip, using the poor little fella to bash against incoming enemies. Granted the little chap is durable, but like….. I’m sorry, this movie is ridiculous. Like I can’t even!
Plot: Godzilla and the almighty Kong face a colossal threat hidden deep within the planet, challenging their very existence and the survival of the human race.
2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong holds a special place in my heart in that during COVID-19 it was one of the first and only films to come out during lockdown. I recall sitting in my living room suffering from high depression (I mean, who wasn’t at that time, am I right??) and I stuck on the Godzilla vs Kong film with low expectations……and I had the greatest time ever. By no means was it a masterpiece. It’s even far away from being a good film, but at that time when I was cinema-deprived and life was in a constant state of limbo, a big trashy Hollywood blockbuster with two massive CGI monsters beating the living crap of each other was exactly the entertainment I needed.
In cometh Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Naturally we’re no longer in a pandemic so the WOW factor is gone, and also Godzilla Minus One only recently came out reminding us that Godzilla can be sophisticated when need be. That being said, am I opposed to seeing some ridiculously over-the-top kaiju brawls for absolutely no other reason other than Hollywood wanting to throw money against the wall and seeing what happens? Yes. Look, from the set-up the whole thing doesn’t make sense in the first place. I get it is fantasy and suspension of disbelief is required, but it’s a giant walking nuclear power plant that holds the title of king of the monsters against a bloody monkeh. I don’t care how cool or likeable Kong is, if we’re being realistic he’d get smushed just by touching Godzilla. Like, ain’t that lizard boi radioactive?? Last time I checked radioactivity is pretty fatal. Kong should have developed multiple forms of cancer since the 2021 film, I’m just saying. But again, that’s if we’re thinking logically, however as we’ve learned from these MonsterVerse movies, logic isn’t a word that exists. So let’s enjoy the lizard and monkeh for what they are - bring it on!!
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is exactly what you expect it to be… in the last 30 minutes. The first hour and a half is actually a casual sequel to Kong: Skull Island, with Godzilla a fleeting cameo just getting up to random shenanigans, with every appearance lasting no longer than 5 seconds. I’m serious, Godzilla to this movie is like Scrat is to the Ice Age movies. If you recall the little saber-toothed squirrel hardly ever connects to the main plot-line of those films, and instead is only obsessed with getting his stupid acorn. Same with Godzilla, he fights random kaijus just cause. He takes naps in the Colosseum just cause. He eats nuclear plants for breakfast just cause. He turns Barbie-level pink just cause. His entire role in this movie is just cause. Otherwise this is through and through a King Kong movie. Not that I’m complaining, if you want to make a somewhat engaging and emotionally resonant narrative (as if this movie has a plot!), it’s easier to focus on Kong as he has the baggage of being lonely and wanting to find a home and more of his kind, so there’s something there to work with. So we spend most of the movie wit Kong as he explores Hollow Earth that’s discovered from the previous film, and I quite enjoyed all that. Does the movie need to be 2 hours long? Nope, as the whole Hollow Earth story-line is dragged out so much when in fact all that happens could have easily been told in the size of a short film. Essentially nothing much happens is what I’m saying. Like the whole thing is a set-up for the inevitable and highly anticipated final showdown that we’ve all paid for.
About the final showdown - it’s so dumb. I mean the whole movie is dumb, but the final battle breaks any last remaining realm of reason and turns into this crazy bonkers monsters v monsters smashy-bashy bonkers beat ‘em up, and it was absolutely fantastic! Again, I fully admit the stupidity of it all, but watching this movie’s finale in a crowded theatre with everyone cheering, laughing, clapping and howling alongside all the CGI madness that is thrown at our faces - it was awesome! I’d give the final 30 minutes a 10/10 score easily, as it is exactly what we want from a Godzilla and Kong movie. Godzilla spears Kong through a pyramid and then immediately follows that up with a suplex. That right there is cinematic genius!! The rest of the movie is fine and has its moments, but is just a meandering set-up for that ending.
This being a MonsterVerse movie naturally there are also some human characters that we are forced to care about. Like I give a f***, gimme me more lizard and monkeh!!! I want them here, and I want them now! To be fair the producers must have listened to the audience feedback as there is much less human stuff in this movie. There’s a useless sub-plot with Rebecca Hall and her adopted daughter that was so boring and generic and was the dullest part of the movie. Brian Tyree Henry and Dan Stevens are a delight though, providing some enjoyable comedic tongue in cheek, with Stevens especially excelling at the one-liner quips. Nice also to see Stevens teaming back up with director Adam Wingard, the two having previously worked on the wonderful indie thriller The Guest. Honestly if you have not seen The Guest you’re missing out big time - a delightful slice of action horror with a fantastic atmosphere that sucks you in with a dash of dry black comedy edge.
Speaking of Adam Wingard, he’s evidently a good match with these goofy Fast & Furious-level silly monster flicks. He directs the movie using a fun colourful visual palette, with some fantastic sci-fi set pieces, and Hollow Earth is reminiscent very much of a Jules Verne-type adventure locale, very much in the vain of a Journey to the Centre of the Earth, or a Mysterious Island. There’s also a strong 80’s retro vibe to the movie with the techno-synth music score from Junkie XL that had strong Thor: Ragnarok feels to it. I must say through all its stupidity, visually the film is really cinematic and looks awesome on the big screen.
I had a solid time with Godzilla x Kong, especially with those last 30 minutes. Satisfyingly entertaining blockbuster fast-food. It does get a while to get there, and also the movie is fit with so many plot holes and inconsistencies, and also it really did feel like the writers were making things up as they were going along, but I don’t care. This was never intended to be high calibre award worthy filmmaking. It’s only a monkeh, standing in front of a radioactive lizard, asking him to fight together. Really entertaining and super fun. Best part was when it was revealed that Kong could talk and screamed “it’s KONGIN TIME!!’
Overall score: 6/10

Godzilla and God
There is a scene in Godzilla: King of Monsters where King Ghidorah stands in glory over a volcano. Urban carnage surrounds him on all signs and the camera backs up to show a Cross in the foreground. A cross that seems powerless to stop Earth’s new god. Religion makes a few other interesting moments in the movie. It is revealed that Godzilla lives, when he isn’t swimming around, in a large…

Chris: This is the American version of Godzilla with Raymond Burr inserted and pretty much all value and meaning of the film removed because of the Americanization, fun to see this in the Chicago Svengoolie hosted horror show but the original film is the one to see so Avoid.
Richie: This version is awful, give me the original any day, Avoid.
