I wanna talk about the Godzilla NES Creepypasta for a sec. So earlier today I posted about a dream I had a few months back that included a Kirby half-horror game. I think it might’ve been unconsciously influenced by GNC!

I know GNC is harped on for a few reasons, like being long and corny a few times (honestly tho what horror story let alone creepypasta isn’t corny). But I have a story with it. I didn’t discover this shit until 2019 and despite not seeing it as a 9 year old in 2011 it freaked me out as if I had, and here’s why:

It reminded me of actual childhood nightmares I used to have about my favorite games, and I think the Kirby dream I had was either a continuation of these dreams or inspired by the creepypasta. Probably both. My favorite game as a kid was The Legendary Starfy for the DS. I’ve had a few nightmares about it. One of which actually included a scene where a red crab chases you—it’s a remarkable coincidence!

GNC is genuinely good to me. Thinking about it four years after first exposing myself to it, I remember that there’s all sorts of cultural, mythic, and biblical references that are neat. There’s even a reference to paleontologist Dale Russell’s “Troodon Man,” a hypothetical humanoid Stenonychosaurus. As a dinosaur fan I appreciate that

Goji73 has the best cover of the Godzilla NES Creepypasta. Don't get me wrong, I love Mr.CreepyPasta, but his cover of the series.... It just doesn't hit the same. Goji73 really goes in and tries to emulate the music and he uses all the pixel art, and his voice just gets so much more emotion in it, that it genuinely feels like he IS Zach. That he actually did go through what happened in the story! The bad audio quality only adds to the charm. Also it was released in 2014, so the audio quality can kinda be excused, because the video quality is genuinely good. Anyways, that's my rant.
