It's been a week since I last went somewhat self destructive and spent all night reading Sprace fics. It's kind of a weekly occurrence at this stage but I'm not complaining. It adds flavour to the quarentine lifestyle.

🎭 3MA Authors Unmasked 🎭

The ballot box is closed, the votes have been counted, and it is time once again for authors to be unmasked! We are incredibly grateful to the 30 authors who wrote 117,556 words across 41 fics for this round of TUA Masked Author. Among the 3MA authors, we were privileged to have an amazing eighteen authors who were new to the event (including three authors who took the plunge of publishing fics for the first time!), our first collaboration, seven second-time submitters, as well as five dedicated authors who have taken part in all three rounds. The fics they wrote made us laugh, cry, and deepen our appreciation of the show and fandom we all love, for which we say a sincere thank you!

This round proved tricky for would-be investigators (one fic evaded detection entirely -- Remembered Burning by Blue_feathered_corvus managed to fool all the guesses), but some were still able to suss out deep-hidden hints and canny clues that lead them to the truth!

Reigning champion @melivian dug deep into the fics (and assembled another spreadsheet or two, we hear) and successfully defended her title as the most successful guesser for 3MA! Huge congratulations to her for guessing correctly on 83% of fics, unmasking the authors of an incredible 34 fics 🎉

In second place was Lee, who correctly identified 22% of 3MA fics’ authors, followed closely by @destinyandcoins, who came third with 20% correct!

Congratulations to our top guessers -- enjoy your well-earned bragging rights!

Over the next week, we will be reblogging all fics that were promoted through tumblr with the name of the author, along with statistics such as the top guess and % guessed correctly.

Thanks your the ask anon! 2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?

When I first got into fanfiction, I was primarily a reader. Now though, it is a 50/50 split. Although sometimes I go months without really reading any fiction because none of it really appeals to me or I just don’t have time.

 9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.

I don’t know if I would label them as underrated/unknown....but I really enjoy whatever I’ve read by them. If you are into musicals or the Newsies fandom at all, I would check out GodsHumbleClown on ao3.org. On tumblr, I think there handle name is @maggs-is-a-muppet. (Apologies if that is wrong) I also really like @dastardlydandelion works on ao3.org. Their user name on there is handydandynotebook.(Again, if I am wrong, apologies. Please correct me if you can). They write a lot of stuff for Stranger Things, and their stuff tends to be darker, but it is enticing nonetheless.   Those are the only two that I can think of right this moment. If a third person comes to mind, I will add onto this post.

 37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you don’t have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write. I’ll do both; give an update and a sneak peek! A current WIP I am working on is for the Snowpiercer fandom. The Netflix series, not the movie. Right now, I have it in the editing stage on ao3.org. I don’t write in order, so I’m just putting in the final, connecting pieces. Here is the story summary I am planning on using for my current WIP. Enjoy! The arrival into New Eden left everyone feeling rather rattled. Four days in and they were all still struggling to get back on their feet, to get back into some sort of order. Seeing the dingy, old ball, and holding it in his hands, Oz had gotten the urge to play a game he hadn't played since before the Freeze. The little, tailie girl Winnie, not knowing how to play, just cemented that urge to play all the more. He didn't think that other people would want to join in to start an actual game.

I love reading about people’s writing habits (and writing habitats) and am really happy to hear that the “Garden You Planted” song has made it into your rotation, @maggs-is-a-muppet ! So That’s What They Call a Family is such a good story, and that song kept coming to mind while reading.

5. Do you listen to music when writing? 

Sometimes, yeah. I like to have music on when I do a lot of stuff. It can't be a song I like too much though, or I won't be able to write.

6. If you listen to music when writing, what were you listening to when writing [Fanfic Name]?

@jackkellystories one time told me that my fic So That's What They Call a Family made them think of this song, so now I like to have it playing when I have writers block. (Which is... a lot lately.)

35. Where's your favorite place to write?

Usually in my bed, or on my front porch. Sometimes if it's slow at work, I'll write there as well. Honestly I write anywhere and everywhere I can, to boost my chances of actually writing rather than just looking at the word document and doing nothing :')
