Everyone is a little bit sad all the time, but that’s what gives us meaning.

My first ever encounter with the show was on a bus ride back home. I was bored, and there’s still two more hours until i reach home, so naturally, i tapped on an app and checked what was good.

In the recommended section, there were few dozens to choose from. I usually watch older shows to feel the childhood nostalgia, but this show caught my attention.

The trailer was kinda interesting, with straight forward plot lines and a distinction of good and bad. When i started watching TBH, i got a bit surprised at the pilot episode where the first thing we was a close up of a pair of eyes. (Which i now see, was a really smart way of knowing whose the main character and stuff)

But as the show developed (And by that i mean finishing two seasons within three days and catching up on their podcast right after), i realized it wasn’t like the common shows where something happens in the first episode and ends without consequences or aftermaths at the same episode. To me, it felt like a long novel (to which it kinda is, since there’s the Chapter sequences), where every chapter showed significant impacts and effects in the next chapter.

And as the show goes on, each season just got better and better, different settings, different plot lines and different philosophy lessons. Making death and other life matters seem so normal and meaningful, knowing its not all bad. Highlighting what you do in your life might have an impact somewhere else (*cough*karma*cough*), introducing the concept of motivation and how it truly effects you as a person. Portraying varieties of family backgrounds and the sibling rivalry was something i find very interesting and being able to relate to some degree. But most importantly, with every plot twist and every surprise, comes even bigger surprises and greater endings.

We could never really get over the end of our favourite shows, and the ways to cope are different through every individual fan, like fanfiction, or more theories, or even comics to end some unanswered questions.

But like every great story, like every holidays we get, they’re special, and they must come to an end.

So cheers for a great show, great cast members, great stories, and great endings.
