Sharad Purnima 2024: Special importance of celebrating Sharad Purnima and the beliefs of this festival!
Tumblr media
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima 2024: Special importance of celebrating Sharad Purnima and the beliefs of this festival!
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima 2024 is celebrated on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. In many places, this day is also celebrated as Kojagari Purnima. On this auspicious occasion, there is a ritual of worshiping and fasting Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi in a proper manner. It is believed that by doing these auspicious works, Shri Hari is pleased and there is happiness and peace in the house.
🕉🚩The festival of Purnima has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. In Sanatan Dharma, the full moon date is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. The full moon date of Ashwin month is known as Sharad Purnima. Sadhaks celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm. Also, take a bath in the Ganges and donate in the auspicious time. After this, worship Lord Vishnu in a proper manner. Religious opinion is that by doing this, the person gets auspicious results in life. Along with this, happiness and good fortune is attained. Apart from this, one gets rid of the obstacles coming in the work.
🕉🚩It is believed that on the occasion of Sharad Purnima, nectar rains from the rays of the moon, which is known as Amrit Kaal. Therefore, on the night of this festival, kheer (Sharad Purnima Kheer Time) is kept in the light of the moon and it is consumed the next day. Apart from this, lighting a lamp on this day gives relief from all the troubles of life. This increases the good fortune of the person.
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima Today🌾
Sharad Purnima fast is also called Kojagar or Kaumudi Vrat. Due to awakening Lakshmi ji, this fast was named Kojagar. Lakshmi Narayan Mahalakshmi and Tulsi are worshipped on this day.
On this day, Shri Krishna created Maharas with the gopis. It is also believed that on this day, Goddess Lakshmi goes out for a walk at night.
Only on this day in the whole year, the moon is full of sixteen arts. It is believed that on this night, nectar falls from the rays of the moon. That is why on this day in North India, there is a tradition of making kheer and keeping it in the moonlight overnight.
Milk contains lactic acid and nectar elements and rice contains starch. These two elements combine with the rays of the moon and gain more power. For this reason, the sages have made a rule of keeping rice kheer under the open sky on the night of Sharad Purnima. This Hindu tradition is based on science.
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima 2024 Date and Time
👉According to the Panchang, the full moon date of Ashwin month will start on October 16 at 08:40 pm. At the same time, this date will end the next day i.e. on October 17 at 04:55 pm. In such a situation, the festival of Sharad Purnima will be celebrated on October 16 (Sharad Purnima 2024 Date). On this day, moonrise will be at 05:05 pm.
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima 2024 Shubh Muhurat
👉Brahma Muhurat - from 04:42 am to 05:32 am
👉Vijay Muhurat - from 02:01 pm to 02:47 pm
👉Godhuli Muhurat - from 05:50 pm to 06:15 pm
👉Nishita Muhurat - from 11:42 pm to 12:32 pm on October 17
🕉🚩Why is Kheer important on Sharad Purnima:
According to such religious belief, on this day, the moon is full of all its 16 phases on Sharad Purnima. In the scriptures, the rays of the moon are considered equivalent to nectar. In such a situation, on Sharad Purnima, nectar rains from the rays of the moon, which has medicinal properties. On the night of Sharad Purnima, the moon is closest to the earth and is full of its sixteen arts. It is believed that due to the medicinal properties in the rays of the moon on Sharad Purnima, many diseases are cured and the mind becomes happy. For this reason, tonight i.e. on the night of October 16, by keeping the kheer made of pure milk, ghee, sugar in the nectar-like moonlight of the full moon, the kheer becomes nectar-like due to the nectar rain and then after this, there is special significance of consuming it the next morning. Therefore, by accepting this kheer as prasad, life force increases and freedom from diseases is obtained. On this day, by lighting a ghee lamp at midnight and performing special worship of Lord Vishnu, Mother Lakshmi and Kuber etc. with full rituals, one also gets excellent results and wealth, happiness, prosperity, wealth, splendor and peace are attained in the house. According to another belief, Mother Lakshmi was born on the day of Sharad Purnima, that is why Lakshmiji is worshipped on Sharad Purnima in many parts of the country. Apart from this, there is also a belief that on Sharad Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi roams the earth with Lord Vishnu and asks her devotees who is awake. For this reason it is also called Kojagar Purnima. In such a situation, by worshiping on Sharad Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi is pleased and blesses with happiness and prosperity. According to another belief, on Sharad Purnima, Lord Krishna performed Maharas with the gopis at night in Vrindavan.
🕉🚩Sharad Purnima 2024: Sharad Purnima Puja Vidhi Mantra and Shubh Muhurta:
On the day of Sharad Purnima, Mother Lakshmi is worshiped, bathing and donation have special significance on Purnima Tithi, this day is best to get the blessings of Mother Lakshmi. Chanting the mantras of Goddess Lakshmi during her worship on Sharad Purnima (Sharad Purnima Kab Hai) celebrated in the month of Ashwin can bring auspicious results. Take a bath in a holy river or
Take a bath by mixing Ganga water in water Perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi Anoint the mother with Ganga water mixed with Panchamrit Now offer red sandalwood, red flowers and makeup items to Maa Lakshmi Light a ghee lamp in the temple If possible, keep a fast and resolve to observe the fast Recite the fast story of Sharad Purnima 🕉🚩Chanting these mantras of Maa Lakshmi on the day of Sharad Purnima will bring wealth and happiness:- 🕉🚩Mantra- 👉Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Prasid Prasid Shreem Hreem Shreem Om Mahalakshmi Namah 👉Om Hreem Shreem Kreem Kleem Shree Lakshmi Mam Grihe Dhan Poorye, Dhan Poorye, Chintayein Dooraye-Dooraye Swaha:. 👉Om Shree Shree Kamlalaye Prasidh Shree Hree Shree Mahalakshmya Namah

An astrologer suggested me the following niyama:
I. Do the pancopacāra pūjā of the banana stem (plant) on Thursdays and Sundays, and tie a yellow thread around the plant taking the name of your lover.
Wash your head one day earlier (i.e., on Wednesday). Maintain a strict sattvic vegetarian diet.
After just body wash, wear yellow-coloured clothes. The head should not come in contact with water. You don’t wanna wash away Jupiterian energy.
Apply a saffron tilak on the forehead and throat.
Walk to the temple half an hour before the horā of Bṛhaspati begins.
Draw a svāstika with powdered turmeric on the mud floor.
Light a desī ghī dīpam with turmeric, sandalwood, and saffron tilak (Sun, Mars, and Ketu)
Offer flowers (Jupiter) पीले पुष्प + turmeric + sindoor + अक्षत (do not use this in case ekādaśī falls on a Thursday) + sandalwood paste + perfume oil (इत्र)
Offer dhūpam (Saturn and Rāhu)
Offer gangājala-infused water and naivedyam (Moon and Venus) — किशमिश या मुनक्का + गुड़ + भिगोई हुई चने की दाल wrapped in a banana leaf
Tie a कलेवा 7 times around the stem of the plant.
Offer a yagnopavītam to Śrī Viṣṇu and a yellow-coloured vastram.
Chant the seed mantra for Bṛhaspati as follows: ॐ ग्रां ग्रीं ग्रौं सः बृहस्पतये नमः or ॐ नमो नारायणाय x 1 माला
Feed the prasadam to cows (मुनक्का + गुड़ + भिगोई हुई चने की दाल)
Give dakṣiṇā to a Brāhmaṇa.
बेसन का हलवा + बेसन के चीले + बेसन के लड्डू + बेसन के पकौड़े + केवल पीले फल व हल्दी केसर का दूध।
One can do this pūjā either early in the morning during the horā of Bṛhaspati, or in the evening as well around godhuli.
II. Offer arghya to the Sun with turmeric and kumkum-infused water [in a tāmrapātra], while taking the name of your lover.

গোধূলি . . . I was pleasantly surprised to discover that we Bengalis have a word to describe 'golden hour'. Each day, as the sun set, our ancestors (typically cowherds) ushered their cattle home. As the beasts walked along the earthen paths, the dust from their feet flicked into the air, giving it a golden hue. Remarking at this wondrous sight, our ancestors named it so; the word translates into 'the dirt of the cows' (it doesn't really sound as poetic in English, I know 🙄). . . . Although the literal meaning of the word may not apply now, the name still sticks. Most go about their daily lives; busy cribbing about the heat and the traffic, concentrating on the mountain of work and the next delectable meal. Some of us try to appreciate this hour; we see the others in this golden light, bringing out their best and disregarding their worst. That is the beauty of the light, isn't it? . . . Hope you've had a fantabulous Friday (I really am running out of words to alliterate with days of the week 🙃)! See everyone in the new light; forgive their mistakes and appreciate their skills. Have a great weekend ahead! #thinkingoutloud #writing #blogger #blog #writersofinstagram #writer #গোধূলি #goldenhour #godhuli #golden #bright #wonderful #beautiful #nature #ancestors #history #roots #bengali #bengal #bangla #বাংলা #university #unilife #warwick #universityofwarwick #reflection #pictures #pictureperfect #think  (at Kolkata) https://www.instagram.com/p/B080YGMlcIk/?igshid=pqcpsv9y6o4f

Meditation
Meditation, a journey within which makes the journey outside also blissful and beautiful.  It is an union of the one within with the outside. It clears all the barriers between the manifested Creation and the UnManifested Brahman. Everything becomes One, One with the Self.
Every activity becomes a Spiritual activity because every act even the smallest act will be conducted by the One within.
Meditation is a Yoga where we give activity to body, mind and intellect. It a process of Silencing the mind by turning it inwards towards the Self.
We sit in a comfortable position (Sukhasana). Then we close the Eye. Eye is a projection to the outside world. So, by closing it we turn our vision inwards. Next is the Mind, a wanderer, by giving an act of chanting mantra repetitively we calm the mind and thus make it a thought free mind.
Why mantra? Mantra means Manana Trayate Ithi Mantra, the one which churns the mind and makes it silent free from all thoughts.
Next the Intellect. For intellect we give dharana a visual activity. Dharana is Dharayati iti dharana. For example, like when we visualise a flower, we become that. We carry all the qualities and fragrance of the flower. So, what you visualise while meditating or what dharana you carry while meditating, you become that. So, when you meditate on your True Self the Atman, that takes the lead. Like Krishna became the charioteer for Arjuna thus guiding leading and protecting him all through the war, the Soul, Self, God, Krishna in us will take charge of our life and in every act of ours. And when that happens nothing can go wrong. There will be no accumulation of Karma. Life becomes simply beautiful and blissful. Thus, you start living life than mere existing.
Meditation is the ultimate and only way which takes us inwards and makes us realise the Oneness with the One Paramatma.
Pilgrimages, pooja or reading any number of scriptures are just like setting a base for meditation or journey inwards. In all this we experience Duality like God and Bhakta where we see God as an separate entity from OURSELF. While praying there are two, the one who is praying and the one to whom we pray. Where one is a giver and other is the receiver.
But meditation makes us realise that God and Bhakta, the worshipper and the one being Worshipped is One and the Same. The Very Core, The Very Truth we realise that All is Brahman Alone. Nothing Other Than Brahman. Brahman Alone is Everything. This realisation is possible only Through meditation as in meditation the I completely dissolves, with the Self or Brahman.
Meditation aligns body mind and intellect with the Self, thus every act of ours becomes a Masterpiece. It takes out the master in us and makes our life an unforgettable journey where we enjoy the Manifested creation by being aware of the UnManifested Brahman.
Meditation helps us to be free from all the bondages which the mind carries thus we enjoy and celebrate all relations. It also gives us the strength to take all the challenges of life like a mere situations to be dealt happily by just being with the Self.
With Self taking charge by transcending body mind intellect and even Anandamayakosha we cross even the state of happiness and remain in bliss forever. We start experiencing Bliss and expressing Love to One and All.
We humans are one of the unique creations of God. The creator has designed us so beautifully that even the movement of Soul is in such a way that in the day it supports us to do all the activities and in night helps us to become One with the Supreme.
The movement of Soul is in the form of digit 8. In the night it moves to Sahasrara and by afternoon to Anahata. The intersection of the souls movement is Agneya chakra or third eye, so both the sandhyas are sacred morning it is 2 hours 3:24am to 5:24am. It is called Brahmi Muhurta.   In the evening it is called gho dhooli kala from 5:30pm till darkness sets in.
Both these times are very sacred for meditation and any auspicious activity. Godhuli Kala it's the time when when cows come home and while they are coming lot of fine dust flies which is a Divine dust an expression of presence of lot of Divine beings. That's why Called as Go, means Gau mata and Dhuli means the Divine dust.
In Sahasrara also called as Parabrahma Loka the Soul gets fully charged to take care of the day activity. We should start everyday as a new beginning and live it like a last day of life. When we live like this life will be only a celebration, exploring and experiencing as it comes.   Loving everything and everyone around us.
Self or God is and was always there, when in the body or without. We only have to be aware of that. Because Other than Self there is nothing. Only Self Exist. This realisation can happen only when we meditate with complete Surrender and Love.
