I feel lukewarm about the finale although that may be due to a recent chemical fluctuation in my brain as much as anything, the only feelings I can remember having in the past couple weeks were when Adam Sandler sang that song about Chris Farley on SNL. The Game of Thrones finale was not as emotional as that which pretty much says it all. I am happy the show ended with vindication for House Stark. For a hot minute I thought Drogon was going to fly back to Jon right at the end and I would have really, really loved that, but alas. Just have to remind myself dragons don’t like the cold anyway and he wouldn’t be happy north of the Wall. Maybe he will find Arya someday and she will finally get to ride a dragon like Visenya and Vhagar. 

I actually loved the new small council, I still have a lot of feelings about Ned Stark and remembering him walking into this absolute viper’s nest where he never had a chance, literally the only decent person, and now there is a table of decent people and that’s a start. The whole book thing was hokey and dumb but idc I love Sam and I hope little Sam grows up to be the next king. 

Brienne writing Jaime’s deeds into the history of knights was absolutely beautiful and so was Ser Podrick of the Kingsguard.

Daenerys’ cliché Hitler speech and basically instant death were painful, why was literally anyone permitted to enter a room alone with her, that seems like a major security oversight but oh well, it was going to happen no matter what. I just watched a video comparing her speech to Saruman in the Two Towers like for fuck’s sake, can we not compare the army of literally the only people of color on the show to the fucking Uruk-Hai, like that’s the only obvious comparison, it was a fucking Hitler speech, it happens in literally every film or show about an evil dictatorship. I am mad about the Unsullied and Dothraki in general but also how were there even still so many of them and still an army of thousands of Northmen, I am confusion, oh well. Sansa is Queen in the North and Jon petted Ghost and that’s really all that matters.

I am also happy with King Bran, I love that little weirdo, though hearing like “Brandon Stark, First of his Name,” was so weird because haven’t there been like 50 Brandon Starks, isn’t the whole thing that there’s a Brandon in every generation of Starks? I guess it’s just because like he’s the first one that was a king? Still weird, but like anything about Bran isn’t fucking weird.

Goodbye show, you were mostly good but I am very ready and excited to not hear about you so much all the time anymore (except if Leslie Jones wants to keep talking about it because I would listen to that forever).
