Clearwater Christian College - Closed

CCC had their farewell service today.  I wasn’t able to go to Florida for the service, so I’ll watch it when they post it on youtube.  I heard Dr. Carver spoke and I can’t help but smile when I think of him.  Truly a man of God.

It’s bittersweet.  Clearwater Christian College is closing at a time that I think strong fundamentalist colleges are dying.  The friends I made at CCC are still my friends today, for the most part, and I’m forever thankful to God and the school for bringing us together.

I trust God and I trust the decisions that are made.  As much as it saddens me to hear about CCC closing, I’m thankful that I attended the school, that I made lifelong friends, that my relationship with God was cemented, that He brought beautiful relationships into my life that I’ll always treasure.

I sometimes wonder where I’d be if I stayed at CCC.  Looking back, I should have stayed at CCC.  The school was eons better than Olivet and I had a better support system.  At the same time, maybe God wanted to test me, to test my friends, my relationships, see what sticks, what doesn’t.  Maybe that’s what it was all about.

Forever thankful to God who continues to steer my path.  I pray for all the displaced students, that they all find great homes to finish their college careers. This is a bend in the road, so to all the students, it’s time to move on.  Life will be okay.  I promise.  God has a plan that is bigger than you could ever imagine.

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.  Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for othe prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
