So I've already shared parts of this on a discord server, but I have to scream about Ketheric Thorm on here as well. Obviously spoilers about the character under the cut! It's a long one.
The entirety of act 2 is about him, right? Jaheira, Shadowheart and numerous other NPCs shit on him for his fickle faith. First Selune, then Shar, then, as we meet him, Myrkul. You hear about his changes of faith on a whim, you hear that he's the person responsible for the shadow curse, he is painted as a villain, plain and simple.
You can figure it out pretty early on that Isobel was resurrected and that she is his daughter; the detail as well that he wants Isobel alive is so on the nose, it gives him away completely but there are still a few questions that remain unanswered, mainly about his faith.
And then you get to the mausoleum and the picture assembles; this entire tragedy, the death of hundreds if not thousands and the complete ruination of a landscape was all, ALL because you had this absolutely wrenched, heartbroken father who had lost everything and nobody answered his grief. He was left woefully alone, the Goddess whose daughter his daughter was involved with did nothing to save Isobel.
Imagine outliving your wife and your daughter. Imagine dedicating your life to fight the Lady of Loss, your Lady of Silver's enemy, and then be left so completely alone and in silence with your grief, with your loss. It's so, so poetic how and why he turned from Selune, and it's so understandable as well; he broke. His spirit completely broke. He couldn't deal with that void of having lost the only two important people in his life, seemingly undeservedly so. He was going mad with this and a lot of his ire was likely targeted at Aylin who, in his eye, represented Selune; she's literally her daughter, after all, and it was implied that even before the deaths of his family, he sort of saw Aylin courting Isobel as Selune taking his daughter from him, despite his service. This relationship was clearly not seen by him as a boon of "giving his daughter to the Moon-maiden".
His ways in the past clearly didn't spare him from tragedy and having to cope with it (which he clearly didn't, he snapped under the weight of his grief). He was clearly angry and unable to do anything, furious and helpless, which is a dangerous combination. A good part of his first change of heart must have been fuelled by a sense of revenge.
But then Shar didn't provide any balm to his aching heart either. If you read his letters in Grymforge and in act 2, he is so focused on enacting the will of Shar because he believes that healing lies in oblivion. Everything would be easier if he could just forget, if the damn world could just forget, if nothing was remembered because without Melodia and Isobel, nothing was worth remembering.
Then came Myrkul. Literally the only god who was not only able, but WILLING to give back his daughter to him. Imagine spending your all, EVERYTHING you have to serve two gods who would not give a single shit about the greatest suffering in your life. You were basically nothing, your loyalty didn't matter for shit, everything that was taken from you amounted to no recognition whatsoever: you should simply cope and seethe. Your grief will not simply go unanswered (which is not inherently antagonising) but ignored.
And then comes this supposedly evil entity who can alleviate your pain just like that, snap of a finger and it's a done deal.
I am so serious when I say that I believe Ketheric's main incentive was to extend Aylin's immortality to Isobel as well. You can read in her diary that she feels a taint after having came back, and there are things not even Selune can cleanse, but at this point, Ketheric doesn't care about Selune, vengeance is secondary if not tertiary, he's done that war during his Shar years and what did it give him? Literally nothing.
He doesn't even care about the fact that Isobel is still her cleric. He cares about the single most important fact: Isobel is back. Life is worth living again, there is something for him, and it was not Selune or Shar who gave it to him but Myrkul, and for this singular gift, he would raze the world for the Lord of Bones. Like people can clown on him for being disloyal but the man has the loyalty of a dog bonded to its owner.
He is powerful and is willing to go to insane lengths for crumbs. What is raising a single life for a god? Nothing. It has happened and it will happen again. But Ketheric will go to the ends of the earth to serve the single god who actually listened to him. The one god who didn't ignore him.
He knows that what he does is not the morally upright thing! He is so insanely self-aware that allying with Orin and Gortash and doing this entire plot with them only to then betray them is morally reprehensible at the best of times, he knows that people hate him, etc-etc. He was a Selunite at one point and he's not stupid. He just doesn't care; it could be literal Asmodeus and he wouldn't care as long as he got what he wanted, no matter the price.
He is probably the only one from the three of the chosen who has complete clarity over his situation, he almost sways (if you pass the check during his confrontation), he is not an inherently evil man blinded by power.
But he is inherently loyal to those deserving, and as of the story's standing, completely broken by his grief. In his eyes, at this point, the only one deserving loyalty is the one who actually listened to him. Isobel lives. It doesn't matter that she hates him, that his entire life has fallen apart, that literally nothing else that is good has come of it, because Isobel lives.
I don't think he regrets a single thing. His consciousness might tear at him at the end, but I believe he would do everything over again, exactly as he did, because in the end, his daughter was brought back. Because what would a grieving, broken parent give to bring back their child? Everything. Absolutely everything. And it's such a simply given answer, no second thoughts, no doubts.
Nobody can tell me that this man is fickle. Nobody. This man was willing to burn the world to the ground, create a Boudica destruction layer all by himself for the one single thing he wanted. For any God that would listen.
I don't know, I just have a lot of thoughts about his character.
#bg3#baldur's gate 3#ketheric thorm#and I also have a lot of thoughts of how Aylin foils him#I fully believe that he was in the right in the capacity that he switched around his gods when he was literally ignored despite his life's#work. despite all that he has given. I think it's reasonable to expect in the world of gods who actively meddle in mortal affairs on their#whims and make shit worse that in just one single case they would. idk. NOT expect one of their devotees to remain blindly loyal to them#after their prayers go unanswered. like yes; go and try your luck elsewhere because this devotion of yours is clearly being taken for#granted. you get NOTHING out of your worship. you can't even sleep well because your loved ones are dead and you are expected to just what?#deal with it on your own? and remain loyal? why?#some sense of 'honour'?#I really like this depiction of faith actually. I really like when clerics and paladins are given agency and critical thought that hey!#this is actually giving me nothing despite me dedicating my entire life to it! and I have only one of it so why not take it somewhere where#it's actually valued. you know. as a treat.#I *personally* much more prefer this depiction of a crisis of faith than what we got with Shadowheart or Lae'zel; their stories are very#interesting on their own but I think throwing yourself from one end to the other not because you actually have a goal that it could serve#but because you are desperate for a purpose#is a slightly less potent character narrative than having an actual goal yourself. not by much but by a little.#again#PERSONALLY

The Unknown Number
A/N: ignore the time stamps 😆 i know, i know, but it's literally 2am when i edited this and i can't edit the time 😔
warnings: none? just that reader is italian and a lil bit of peach dissing [if you know, you know]
You were bored.
You were sitting alone in your hotel room, plans foiled by a stormy day, waiting for some miracle to happen. You were supposed to enjoy a beautiful day in New York; you had just arrived last night from Italy for a three-week vacation in America. You have planned this trip for so long. Originally, your best friend Hailey was supposed to come along, but her family needed to go to Germany to visit her sick grandmother. Hailey had urged you to go on with the trip, practically forcing you to go to the airport and live your dream—the American dream you've been dreaming of since you were a little girl—and just enjoy, even without her.
You agreed, of course. You've been dreaming of coming to New York ever since you were eight; you weren't going to pass off the opportunity to fly to the place where your mother came from. Your mother left when you were eight—she died of cancer. As a little girl, you'd listen excitedly when your mother told you stories about her hometown. She painted such a vivid picture of New York City that you felt like you knew it like the back of your hand, even though you'd never been there. And now, here you were, sitting in a hotel room with nothing to do.
As you stared out the rain-streaked window, you sighed, feeling sorry for yourself and wishing Hailey was there with you. This was not how you had envisioned starting your vacation in the big city. You had been looking forward to exploring Central Park, visiting museums, and trying out all the famous New York food with Hailey. It just wasn’t the same without her.
You took a deep breath, grabbing your phone from the nightstand beside you and deciding to scroll on Instagram to ease your boredom. As you mindlessly scrolled through your feed, something caught your eye—an advertisement for Wonka.
“Oh, I almost forgot about this,” you muttered to yourself, tapping twice on the post.
You have been a fan of Timothée Chalamet for less than a year. Hailey had been the one who introduced you to the young actor, and to your surprise, you were the same age as him. The first movie of his you’ve ever watched was Little Women, and you've loved him ever since.
You've been obsessing over his films like Dune and The King, loving every shot of him and admiring his beauty and talent. When you watched the trailer for Wonka, it was surreal to see him in such an unserious manner. Singing and dreaming about chocolate in his infamous purple coat.
Continuing to scroll down your feed, you began seeing more of him, fan interactions, the red carpet, and movie promos. God, he's beautiful, you thought, moving to screenshot every photo you scrolled by. Mindlessly switching to Tiktok, where you see numerous edits of Tim on his premieres looking absolutely stunning in his colorful suits, left you imagining what else would be peeking under his jacket.
“Is there anything you won't do for fashion?”
“Oh man, yeah, do it for the fashion.”
I’d do anything for you, all for you. You thought as you kept on scrolling some more to see character edits, ship edits—which you hated—thrist edits, and so much more that you couldn’t save anymore because you were running low on storage.
You sighed, closing the app, tossing your phone to the side, and plopping on the bed. This isn’t the American dream. You were supposed to be out, exploring New York, getting a sense of nostalgia from all of the stories your mother had told you years ago. But no, you were stuck in a hotel, scrolling through all of your social media feeds. God knows how many times you’ve scrolled through instagram and tiktok. You should be walking down Fifth Avenue, shopping and taking in the sights, eating hotdogs and pizzas as you walk through Central Park—maybe even running into a celebrity, hopefully Timothée Chalamet—not just stuck inside your hotel room moping.
What I’d give to have a moment with Timmy.
Personally, you’d give the whole world just one minute with him. But you can’t help but wonder: What would any of Timmy’s fans give to just have one moment with him? Probably the same as you, but every person is different.
You grabbed your phone again, opening Instagram. As soon as the app opened, Timothée’s newest post greeted you.
He looked so effortlessly handsome, and it made the butterflies in your stomach flutter like crazy. You wished to be in Kylie Jenner’s place, but you could never be her. You’re just this plain girl that he would never even take a second glance at. You didn’t have a famous family, you didn’t have tons of fans, you didn’t have a successful makeup brand, and it’s sure as hell that you didn’t have a model body and a perfect face. You’re just a normal Italian girl with flaws. You had a belly, stretch marks, dark bags under your eyes from staying up late, cellulite, big arms, and acne scars from your youth. You were far from the girls he’d ever want. But you still love him nonetheless, even if you could only love him from afar.
Tapping on his profile, you clicked on the message button. It was the only thing you could do—message him every once in a while. You wondered how many girls would freak out if Timothée Chalamet messaged them. It was a long shot, but if it ever happened to you, it was sure as fuck that you’d be either crying of happiness or faint. There’s no in-between, honestly.
Suddenly, an idea popped into your head.
Text random numbers and pretend to be Timothée Chalamet.
It was a bad idea, sure, but when have you ever thought before doing shit? It’s only some harmless fun, right? You knew if you asked Hailey, she’d support you; no questions asked. So, there isn’t anyone else who’d tell you it’s a bad idea.
You opened your IMessage app, deciding to go with your stupid idea.
“Here goes nothing.” you muttered, typing in the number Hailey gave.
You laid on your stomach, typing in a random greeting message, stifling your laughter before tapping the send button. “Sent.”
You couldn't stop laughing, you were honestly enjoying this even though it was wrong to catfish people. You were bored, this was the only thing that gave you smiles as the storm outside raged on.
You tried to stop laughing so you could type in a message for your next prank victim, failing miserably. You tossed your phone to the side, clutching your stomach as you let all of your laughter out of your body. It was absolutely funny to see people’s reactions, knowing all too well that you aren’t the real Timothée, and just riding along with your shit.
After a few minutes of laughing, you finally regained your composure. “Alright, onto the next.”

hey girl!
binged a few of ur works this morning lol (sleep? never heard of her) and kinda sorta very much may have slightly fallen in love with apollo. i blame u /j
anyhows in case ur taking reqs atm (sorry if u dont) id like if u please some domestic fluffiness of my boi and his mortal wife (she chooses to remain mortal. its a bridge theyll burn when they get there)
feel more than free to add angst muehehehe (like him watching her in the garden and thinking of the misfortune hes had with all those hes loved in the past. tears are shed and promises are made)
tysm and take care :D
*also, reader here is sort of a foil to apollo; level headed practical down to earth but no less loving and caring. shes like a budding flower in that shes reticent and aloof but to those who know her well, little is sweeter than time spent her company.
so sorry if this is too detailed lol theyre all ideas so do what u want and enjoy!
— half return
warnings: slight angst, redeeming fluff, also I’m not good at gardening so bear with my here, short ish?? pairing: apollo x mortal/wife! reader a/n: I’m always taking requests angel don’t worry :)
It was nearly unreal, the sight of you. despite your sunburnt skin and floral sundress were veiled in all kinds of dirt and various weeds or plants, your beloved husband, watching from your porch, thought you had never looked more ethereal in this messy state. you pick another bunch of flowers and begin placing them one by one into the dirt, making sure after it will swallow the stem to keep them in place
It’s almost inevitable, the thoughts, every small glance to a simple plant brings him back to his variety of failed relationships; daphne, hyacinth, cassandra, et cetera (the list goes on forever). the memory… the switch from human form to plants, with daphne a tree and hyacinth a flower (you’d made sure never to plant those in your garden to be cautious of the reassuring trauma). he only prays to every god or goddess he knows that you won’t end the same way, dead or plant. you were too sacred, too special, I mean seriously, when has anyone ever seen a god settle down with just one person, let alone a mortal at that? slim to literally never. until now. and the other olympians teased him for letting a mortal of anyone have such an affect over him— a god. he ignored the teased though, and married you anyways
too caught up in his worrisome thoughts, apollo fails to realize that you had stood from your cross crossed sitting position, far enough so you could admire your work. a soft smile adorns your mouth, eyes twinkling at the sight of your handiwork. you walk back over to the flowers where you had left your tools, taking off your dirt-covered gloves and placing them in your bucket before looping the handle around your arm and heading up the stairs of your porch where you place down the bucket. then, with a wider (and probably more intimate) you sit down on the porch swing beside your husband
your tranquil voice is the first to break the silence, “lost in thought, my love?”
yes. “I just just watching you”
“like a creep?”
apollo let’s put a melodic laugh, pulling you to sit atop his lap. “if admiring my wife was to be a crime then I would imprison myself”
“silly” you laugh and peck his lips, then in your palms he sees a purple flower saved from your garden “for you”
he takes it gently from your hands. “for me?”
you nod happily. “It’s a heliotrope. it symbolizes eternal love”
oh, it’s like you were reading— stop everything. “eternal?”
“yes” you confirm “I have a book, I showed you once do you remember? it’s that big one with the white spine. it has the language of the flowers, names, what they symbolize, it even tells you the best time to plant them. I mean, what season to plant them in, it’s really cool, honestly, do you remember it? I already asked that… but—”
your ramble is cut off my soft lips against your own, ultimately stopping any coherent thought from being processed. for a moment you stay like that, and very slowly (like, a snail could slide a mile in this time) you pull away, and with lips still against each other, apollo assures, “I remember, darling”
꣑ৎ if you enjoyed then reblogs would be greatly appreciated! my requests are currently: open if you have any <3

❄️ Lucy Frostblade ❄️
Fantasy High Junior-Year Mini-Playlist
It's blizzarding where I am, so I've decided it's the perfect time to post my first Fantasy High NPC playlist. Lucy has been captivating my little theorist mind for weeks now, and God, I have so many feelings about her. A lot of the situations that I have this playlist highlighting are very much headcanons/theories about who she was, her relationships, and the events leading up to her death. (also, they are all winter-themed. None of them are explicitly "holiday," but one is holiday adjacent, as it comes from Sufjan Steven's holiday album and is inspired by Christmas, though it is instrumental)
Genres: Alternative, Folk, Instrumental
Vibes: Moody, Introspective, Spiraling, Winter
SPOILERS AND THEORIES BELOW
1. Winter is Blue, Vashti Bunyan
Winter is blue Living is gone Some are just sleeping In spring, they'll go on Our love is dead Nothing but crying Love will not find even One more new morning Why must I stay here Rain comes I'm sitting here Watching love moving Away into yesterday
Vashti Bunyan is a name in folk that you need to know. She's 79, and she's still writing amazingly gorgeous music. This one comes from my personal winter solstice mix that I've had since high school, so every year when wintertime rolls around, this song is always one that I am vibing to. I think the way it gets at this really soft sadness is perfect for lucy and how she worked with her goddess.
2. If Winter Ends, Bright Eyes
I dreamt of a fever one that would cure me of this cold, winter-set heart With heat to melt these frozen tears burned with reasons as to carry on Into these twisted months I plunge without a light to follow But I swear that I would follow anything Just get me out of here
Ok, this ties into a theory I have. We were only told a few things about Lucy in her introduction but one of the things that was reiterated several times by Brennan as Yolanda Badgood was that she was deeply sad/depressed. And part of that comes with the territory of her god, Ruvina, whose domain includes sadness, coldness, and winter.
Lucy, before her death, tries to switch her god (whether of her own volition or not) to Ankarna. Ankarna, as we found out, is a sibling of Ruvina and a Summer god, which might also put them originally as a god of joy and warmth- acting as a foil to Ruvina's sadness. So maybe part of the motivation that Lucy had to switch gods was to find something that could bring her out of her depression.
What confirms this to me is that in the d20 mid-season recap, after they show Kristen talking with Yolanda about Lucy, they end it with a clip of Ally as Kristen."Was it to something more positive?"
3. Winter Wonderland, Animal Collective
Mold of the fawn I have been frozen there for days With headlights reflecting in my face I must be cold on your lawn But inside I'm okay I can live without your time Where snowmen never melt Instead, they all went shy And if you don't believe in fantasy Then don't believe in fantasy Do you not believe in fantasy because it gets you down? If you don't believe it's raining I won't tell you that it's raining Do you not believe it's raining just because it gets you down? And if you don't believe in happiness Then don't believe in happiness If you don't believe in happiness then man you must be down If you don't believe you're dying I won't tell you that you're dying But do you not believe you're dying just because it gets you down?
You can find my thoughts on this song here!
4. The Incarnation, Sufjan Stevens
(instrumental)
This song I picture playing under the miracle Kristen performs, releasing the souls of Lucy and Yolanda in the forest. It is truly gorgeous, and I think the reverence and mystery in it is perfect for a miracle of doubt

I'm having so much fun with Virche Evermore! It's exactly the level of Gothic Romance I wanted, and often more romantic than I believed it would be. Scien is currently my favorite, but perhaps that's to be expected from someone who continually got "Pragma" (or "Ludus") on Cupid Parasite's love quiz. XD
On that same token, though (just unlocked Yves' route): am I doing sci-fi "wrong" if I'm considering the science as a vehicle for emotion and character rather than something "plausible"? Because I keep seeing people complaining about that and I'm so confused.
Analysis and spoilers for Lucas and Scien's (pre-Salvation) endings under the cut!
For example, I started with Lucas' route first. I went into it expecting this quiet, grief-filled story of a man struggling to choose between dying as himself VS continuing the vital community role he loves (teacher) at the risk of losing that passion for teaching. As the route progressed, the conflict became more, shall we say, "man vs man", but to me it didn't seem to lose much in that switch? If anything, it became clear that sometimes in this story love "comes too late", but it's worth feeling and sharing all the same. The themes of cults and Weird Science (tm) are there to enhance those emotions and that sense of loss--they're almost metaphorical that way.
Where that does fall apart for Lucas' route specifically is how he as a character feels very focused on the spiritual, not science and medicine. "What is the nature of the soul? What makes us human?" I think the antagonist chosen for him falls flat because of this: Cappuchine acts in accordance with those spiritual conflicts for 99% of the route until he's suddenly The Most Science Person. His way of "loving/preserving" is genuinely fascinating if viewed as a foil for Scien, but as a foil for Lucas specifically? They don't quite mesh. (Love the evil lair and outfit switch though, very classic and classy!)
To wander back to my point: I think Scien's route (pre-Salvation Ending) gave me more Feelings because the spiritual and science themes are better woven into his and Ceres' relationship. Both of them have these suffocating, abstract mantles placed on them by others, and through each other they learn to embrace and reject those mantles simultaneously. "To err is human", and yet "what a piece of work is man". Scien never stops thinking of Ceres as a human being, even when things spiral. Ceres has her sky-high expectations of Scien dashed to pieces by his hand, and as a consequence can point out his flaws with impunity. Their love is exhilarating, born of madness and hope. They're nothing less than devotee and God, offering and receiving tribute and acceptance at their lowest points...but they're also nothing more than a man and woman who respect and love each other.
When Scien says to Ceres "If the world will not forgive you, I will," it feels like the first time that mantle of Godhood has worth. And so it's not surprising when right after this comes his huge moment of self-discovery: "to forgive is divine", but "to err is human", after all. His downfall in his Despair Ending comes from hubris--but also, fittingly, from Lucas, the one character (so far) who adores Ceres like a devotee but can't accept her flawed humanity.
The science of Reliver technology and Death's Curse are like spotlights shining down on them--whereas for Lucas and Ceres, those same concepts get in their way as much as they help illuminate their love. And yet I can't find it in myself to discard the writing in the latter's case. I'd rather a story be as flawed as the humans that made it. That way, the emotional high points can be that much more exhilarating when they hit as hard for readers as they must have the writers when they realized, likely mid-sentence, it's working.
#virche evermore#shuuen no virche#lucas proust#ceres virche evermore#scien brofiise#You know a story's good when I start thinking about the characters and narrative themes right away XD

Okay thought about it and!! I think I really liked Dead Boy Detectives!! I think there are good things and bad things, so here are my (spoilers) Thoughts:
Positives!!
- casting was amazing!! I thought everyone did an excellent job, and while I don’t personally love all the actors, I think they played their roles excellently (faves: Esther, Cat King, Niko <333, Jenny, Tragic Mick)
- each character felt unique, even the minor ones
- the beginning was a little rough but once the plot started going it kept my interest peaked without feeling overwhelming
- Charles and Edwin’s relationship was wow so heartbreaking but oh my hod the way they met the staircase scene the way Charles foiled Edwin’s grumpiness yes yes yes
- NIKO AND EDWIN MY BELOVES
- Niko making things right with her unconditional kindness. I hate when shows have the main characters kinda lack social awareness and manners in order to push the plot along faster because it makes them seem like bad people when they aren’t. Niko giving a voice to characters who are otherwise pushed aside by the others (the sprites, Tragic Nick, Jenny, and even the Lighthouse Gift Shop owner) makes her that much more endearing :((
- I love Tragic Mick and his story and the store. What a compelling side character??
- the setting was oh my god so perfectly moody
- the Cat King forcing the characters to stay in one place when they notoriously can fast travel was so perfect to raise the stakes without making it feel forced
- I lowkey love they made Crystal a bad person because the way she was introduced made it seem like she was gonna be this perfect average joe (also what happened to that little girl ghost that originally started this all???)
Negatives :((
- okay so minor but wow I did not like the blurred edges in the show. I think it worked a lot of times to give everything that sort of dreamy look, but most times it made it hard to focus and distracting from the scene
- sometimes the writing and pacing felt…off. Like the fact that some of the opening dialogue was such Wattpad esk “hey best friend remember how we’ve been friends for 30 years? I’m the goofball to your serious branic haha brills!” And then were immediately given Edwin’s backstory with no context?? Like yes good I’m glad I know it now but it took like 5 episodes to learn Charles’? Also, the fact that we only learn Charles is abused like 10 mins before he has a breakdown with no indication earlier is crazy to me?? We even get a scene where he talks about his parents, and there was no foreshadowing to his dislike of his father??
- speaking of pacing; sometimes it felt very mechanical. Get case, case is actually something more, oh no it’s Esther, easy peasy defeat Esther she’s def done for this time, case closed, oh no she’s alive!, repeat. She just wouldn’t stay down and I love her for that lmao
- I’m trying to find solace in the fact that EVERY relationship in that show got fucked up/was fucked up but honestly the fact that anytime we were really close to having a gay relationship that was then brutally ripped away was crazy and sometimes unnecessarily brutal. I mean — Jenny finally taking a chance and opening up only for her secret admirer turning out to be a stalker and a killer?? Monty getting rejected then ripped to pieces?? The Cat King admitting he likes Edwin more than a toy and being beaten to death?? Also the bait and switch with Niko’s sprites and lowkey highkey making it seem like Crystal was in love lmao
- the way they portrayed Despair was honestly such a shameful choice for me. I would understand if they were going for a modern version to smth, but they were literally in Hell where they crafted a monster out of babydoll parts. You’re telling me Despair, creeping sadness that consumes your soul, with countless reasons and outcomes from it, and countless manefestations, was given a shlumpy cardigan??? Was given no real care beyond a human actor with minimal make up?? We literally MEET one of the, practically, Gods of Hell and that’s the best we came up with?!
- getting out of hell was surprisingly SO EASY like I think it needed /something/ else because at no point did I think they wouldn’t make it out
- DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON FUCKING SIMON?? No way in FUCK did they try to redeem to me a character who bullied Edwin to the point of sacrifing him to a demon (doesn’t matter if he didn’t think anything was going to happen, his intentions were still malicious) by giving him the biggest cop out “but I was secretly in love with you the whole time” BULL SHIT and then the fact that he got to ascend to heaven after???? ALSO THE FACT THAT EDWIN HAD TO BE CHASED BY A DOLL MONSTER AND RIPPED APART WHEN SIMON ONLY GOT PAPERCUTS ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
- WHY TF DID THEY KILL MY GIRL NIKO (I know implied she’s alive somewhat at the end but still). Also, you’re telling me they didn’t even wait until they saw Niko’s ghost and just assumed she moved on that fast without saying goodbye?? Ridiculous??
TLDR: despite some of its shortcomings, I am super excited to see what they do with Season 2, and I hope we get a more expanded universe and cast of characters!!

i finished red valley s2 (literally 30 seconds ago) and i have very swirly, conflicted, and bemused thoughts! this review is just gonna be some loosey goosey simplified thoughts on the season as a whole :)
i really enjoyed the format of the pacing this season, with the perspective switching from the future and aubrey's pov back to the past recordings, i thought it added a nice layer to the way information was revealed. i also just generally thought it was paced really well, especially considering the story is dealing in several time skips.
the character development this season was also delicious- i really didnt expect grace's sorta-redemption arc? and i really liked how aubrey's journey "out" of red valley was sort of a foil to both grace and briony's change in career directions. i also just loved the entirety of aubrey's arc in general, shes become my new favorite character and i think easily the most interesting one (and i hope she doesnt turn out to be another evil mad scientist in s3, i enjoy her as a morally sound grassroots terrorist, thanks).
im ashamed to say that i need briony desperately. "need" can be taken in many directions- as a lab specimen, as a lover, as an enemy, carnally, in a self disgusted manner, in a cage fight, as a medical prescription or psychiatric diagnosis. i simply need her. i love aubrey and i want to sit down with her and have a really long chat. but i want to beat briony's skull in with hammers and eat her entrails with my bare hands and teeth. i needed to confess this to god, to anyone reading these tags, and to whatever cruel power made this woman so perfect for being put in a blender.
as for warren and gordon, who i feel need to be picked apart as a unified entity, holy shit. i mean actually what the fuck is this. so we're just going to go with the fact that warren's brain is being turned to cherry slushie and hes been in hypersleep for 44 fucking years and everytime he re-wakes up he has to wonder why his best friend sounds like siri??? and gordon. gordon who has never gone under hypersleep and had the faulty meds used on him and has been in a cryonics tube for nearly half a century after being shot at close range. ok! ok!!! ok. right. so we just need to accept this and move on and not question it and not worry about it. my threat about killing everyone in the room and then myself upon gordon's demise very much still stands and i am fully prepared to take a leaf out of aubrey's book and approach this issue with a homemade flame thrower. at least waffles is fine (also, that's my cat's name, so thats fun!!)
overall, i really ate this season up and im so very scared to start s3. like actually terrified. but what a wonderfully written and crafted show!!! im losing my mind and going full yellow wallpaper!! congrats to the team behind this!!

I swear to god i have put so much love and care into my characterization of the queens that I just have so much to spit about
WARNING!!! Long post ahead!!!
like here have a snippet for each queen: -Lina despite being so intimidating is genuinly terrified by Anne and Anna. She sees so much in them that is so opposite of her as person that whenever she sees Anna silent or Anne actually angry she just freezes in her tracks. Never tries to seriously hurt someone cuz she can never bring herself to -Anne has many faces. When shes casual shes just smiling and making people laugh (aka gremlin mode), when shes hanging out with the rest of the queens she sort of more teasing and aggressive (aka evil mode) but whenever someone looks away shes never smiling. When you look at her always got this cheerful expression or some shit eating grin but once everyone leaves she has this emotionless and subtly angry look on her. Sometimes she snaps and doesn’t restrain that to something personal and unseen. -Jane never really knows what to make out of anything moral wise. As much as she tries to be a beacon of kindness (due to some copious and (not)healthy amounts of ✨angst✨ and ✨regret✨) she feels sort of numb to it all because she could never understand whether she should be grateful or guilty of the fact that she never had to deal with Henrat’s wrath. This greatly affects her ability to effectively solve emotional problems without Cathy backing her up logic wise. Without her she would probably spend way too much time on simple things- -Anna really admires Anne for her sort of insane switch between goofy silly goober and rat bastard and a dime. She looks up to Lina for her commanding presence. She admires all her band mates for many different reasons but in a way she doesn’t really know her place. Anna doesn’t know what makes her stand out. Although she’s having quite a blast being a foil to Cathy’s “peaceful methods” of calming everyone down. Aka making fun of everyone’s arguments till they shut up (hence why she’s almost never silent). But of a loud mouth much. Especially for being such a chill person at heart. -Kat is sort of a collection freak and has anything and everything. Mainly books and dictionaries that have dope covers. The reason she’s so good at wordplay. Although then again in seems to run in the family—like all the cousins share traits, like their goofinesses or their golden retriever esc behaviors. But she can easily trick anyone into anything with a simple good placed sentence. Manipulation through puppy dog eyes and “uhm actually” moments are PRIME.(NO ANGST FOR HOWARD SHES BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH) -Cathy has absolutely NO charisma. Shes unconvincing. She’s SO cringe. She is a girlfailure at heart okay. Like suuuuure give her a little push and she’ll assemble an army. But cha gotta get through her “inspirational speech” (aka rambling) to get to there. Like even if what she’s saying is beautiful she CANNOT make it sound good she SUCKS at presentation at ALL TIMES. Also cares too much for too many reasons. Can solve any moral dilemma except her own. She becomes a blabbering mess if she does that (I WANT GIRLBOSS BUT ACTUALLY NERD CATHY. LOOK SHES TRYING HER BEST SHE’LL GET THERE EVENTUALLY IT MIGHT TAKE A BIT BUT IT WILL HAPPEN I will share more if I must

A Compromise
Severus Snape x Reader/OC
OC is a generic reader stand in. She/her pronouns and no specific traits given besides a last name, Polter.
Please enjoy! I wrote this awhile ago (before I started this blog) because Snape needs some love too. He gets a lil massage
“Hello Severus!”
The new teacher was..well, insufferable is putting it lightly, but his head hurt too much to think of any other word. “Mr. Snape. I don’t consider us on first name basis Ms. Polter.”
She laughed a bit while inviting herself further into his office to lean against his desk. “I consider us on first name basis, Severus.” The disgruntled professor didn’t bother stopping his sneer. The nerve of this witch. Just as he opened his mouth to tell her off she started speaking again. “Well, maybe not entirely. Since you hardly talk to me, but close enough. It’s more work avoiding me y’know. What with The Order, and now me being assigned as your assistant. You’re going to have to speak to me at some point.”
“And I’d like to push that point as far into the future as I can.” He hunches over the papers he’s grading and decides to ignore her. Or try to. He tries very hard to ignore her methodical steps around his desk. He tries to ignore her when she comes to a stop behind him. He tries to ignore her words when she speaks.
“I don’t think that’s the truth, Severus. Stop trying to lie to me.” The witch sets her hands on his cloaked shoulders. For now she doesn’t move, just waits; waits to see what he’ll do next.
Her waiting is in vain, Severus only grits his teeth and goes back to ignoring her. Resigning herself to more waiting she drags her hands up and into his hair. Well she tries, unfortunately she’s foiled as Severus ducks even further and swats at her hand.
The witch speaks up again, “I have a compromise.”
“I’m not interested.”
“Don’t be so boring. I’ll only stay for 5 more minutes and I won’t bother you again after this.”
“What’s the catch?”
“The catch is that I get to touch you in those five min—“
“No. Absolutely not.”
“Let me explain. You’ll remained clothed and I’m only going to be touching your shoulders and hair. At the end of the five minutes I’ll never bother you again, swear on my wand.”
“Never again?”
“Never.”
“Fine.”
The witch smiles as Severus frowns. He doesn’t know exactly why he’s doing this instead of scaring her off like he usually does. Maybe because the thought of not dealing with her at all is just too enticing. That thought quickly leaves his head as her hands return to their places at his shoulders. Slowly, gently she starts rubbing. Just her thumbs at first, in small circles at the base of his neck. He tenses at the touch. The circles work their way out a bit, then disappear entirely as her other fingers get to rubbing and pressing.
She’s giving him a massage. A good one. One that almost makes him forget that he hates her and wants her to leave him alone forever. Her hands work back up to his neck and he feels the hair there stand on end. No one has touched him like this in a long time. Or ever. When she gets to his hair he recoils a bit. Subconsciously he’s waiting for the pin to drop. Waiting for the cruel remark or teasing or pulling.
“I’ve always loved your hair, Severus.” That was something he didn’t expect. Well that and the soft rubbing and scratching at his scalp. He opened his mouth to scold her for trying to fool him and instead let out a soft breathy moan. Almost immediately he slapped his hand over his mouth and tried to stand. God he’s an idiot. Of fucking course he’d make a fool of himself.
Her hands switch to his shoulders and hold him down in his chair. “The time isn’t up yet Severus. 3 minutes left. If you want me to quit bothering you then you have to stay the whole time.”
The professor nods and settles back tensely. A tenseness that quickly disappears when her hands start moving again. Again they head back to his hair and Severus presses his lips together tightly.
With the last minute she works her hands down again and massages the base of his neck with her thumbs, her fingers wrapping lightly towards the front. Almost immediately Severus drops his head back with a strained whine.
5
She stops massaging with her thumbs.
4
Her nails settle at the base of his neck.
3
They drag towards the front, pausing to press harder on his pulse.
2
Her hands rub down the front of his neck to his collar bones.
1
“You did so well for me, Severus.”
The hands leave.
His eyes shoot open (since when were they closed?) and he twists in his chair to grab her wrists. “5 more minutes. Please, I don’t want you to stop bothering me.”
“No, no Severus. That was the deal. Five minutes and I’d never bother you again. Unless, you want to hear another compromise?”
He’s standing now, holding onto her shoulders to stop her from going, at the mention of another compromise he nods, “Yes! Another compromise.”
She smiles a bit, “I’ll spend more than five minutes with you, but not right now. If you want more time, come to my office at midnight tomorrow.”
Severus nods again, but still tries to touch, desperate to keep her near.
At this she laughs. “I’ll stop bothering you, Severus.” With those words she leaves his office and him to wonder if what happened was real.
One thing was for certain, he would be paying her a visit tomorrow night.

Book Review--Darkwing by Kenneth Oppel
OK, I have to start by saying this was another can't-put-down book, but unfortunately... I have a biology degree. And have a special interest in the era generally discussed in this book, the K-Pg extinction. (Not the C-T extinction as the description says. AFAIK, there was no extinction event called the C-T extinction, although the K-Pg extinction used to be called the K-T extinction.)
What I really wish is that this book would have leaned into its fantasy elements as the author had done with the first three books. I needed some suspension of disbelief. The interference of a god. Maybe the intervention of mystics or shaman. Something to make the events of this book make sense in its context. But this book was very much presented as an EXTREMELY low fantasy tale, and sort of sidelined into the talking animal trope with no fantasy elements. But I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
So I'll go into what I really liked about the book first.
To make a quick summary of the plot, the dinosaurs are in their death throes and other animals are inheriting the earth. The animals made a pact to destroy the last of all saurian eggs whenever they were found to hasten their extinction, but a group of pre-bats (which the authors called chiropters) decided they didn't want to do that because it was morally wrong. The other chiropters resent this group for making that decision and they have been banished. The plot expands from there.
So... Oppel knows how to tell a story. Like I said earlier, this book was extremely compelling and kept me reading because I did truly care about the characters. I had feelings over them, got in their heads, and generally liked them all--even the characters presented as villains. The main character, Dusk, is a chiropter who was born much different than others; it turns out, he can fly, and find his way in the dark. His story parallels an early felid named Carnassial, who has discovered he has a taste for meat and is different than the others in his pride (called a prowl in the book) which only eat bugs.
I didn't love the unspoken lack of morality Oppel assigned to Carnassial, and would have liked to have seen this predatory switch be more honorable (which still would have made him an effective villain to the other characters), but meat eating was generally presented as an act of savagery rather than survival. This switch to meat eating was also scientifically problematic, but I'll get more into that in a bit.
I know I seem really hard on the book, but like I said, I could not stop reading it. I stayed up all night to finish it, despite my better judgement. Because I cared about Dusk, and I wanted to see him succeed. I wanted to see him find a place he belonged. And therein lies the importance of writing sympathetic characters. I kept reading because I liked him. I also liked his sister, Sylph, and his father Icaron. Some of the side characters were also enjoyable, and I understood the foil, Nova's, role in the story. Nova had come to shift her ways of thinking over time, and did not like Icaron, who was the leader of the hero group of chiropters.
But...
There are so many issues with the book, starting with the lack of fantastical elements. According to the author, this is supposed to be a fantasy world. And just introducing SOMETHING--magic, gods, anything--in Darkwing would have made 90% of my problems with the science just go away. I would have given the book 4 stars. But these fantasy elements are completely absent, save for a moment where Dusk licks a mushroom and has a terrible trip wherein he hears a voice (possibly Nocturna???) tell him that he's new. It's never outright stated. Had Oppel done so and leaned into the canonical existence of gods, so much more would have made sense. Instead, this can literally be written off as a drug-induced dream. In a children's book.
And now we can get into the problems this leads to when it comes to science.
A quick primer on evolution: it happens over millions of years through natural selection. Let's say a group of pre-bats occasionally produces young with stronger chest muscles. This is a natural variable in the lives of these creatures, and generally does not affect them in a positive or negative way. But as the environment changes over time, pre-bats born with stronger chest muscles are able to stay aloft longer and avoid predators more successfully. Which means those individuals are the ones left alive to breed. Other adaptations may follow. Less fur on the wings makes individuals more aerodynamic, and more of them survive.
Over hundreds of thousands of years, this trait is selected for within specific environments, and eventually this species is no longer similar to its parent species. Should they encounter each other (because the parent species might still survive in environments suited to it) they would no longer be able to interbreed, due to mutations in genetics. But you would have two related species--one with weaker chest muscles and furred wings, and one with strong chest muscles and bare wings.
The way evolution is presented in Darkwing is that every once in a while, a bat is born from chiropters. Dusk isn't like his fellows, who have weak chests, three claws on their wings, the inability to flap/fly, and the inability to truly echolocate. Later in the book, (view spoiler)
It's just. Not how evolution works. It isn't even a simplified version of how evolution works. And this continued to bother me, because all Oppel would have had to say is that the goddess, Nocturna, selected certain individuals to become Something New (tm) and it would have been FINE.
Likewise, as long as there have been creatures on earth, there have been predators. Obligate carnivores. Things that cannot survive eating berries and roots and must have a protein-rich diet with the vitamins that can only come from meat. This is niche-filling and promotes a healthy food web. If you're curious as to how carnivores can effect entire ecosystems, look no further than the effect the reintroduction of wolves had on Yellowstone... A phenomenon that surprised even scientists. From the very beginning, there were simple eukaryotes which ate plant cells, and those which ate OTHER eukaryotes. This maintained a balance in any given ecosystem and caused it to thrive.
So for the author to write that no beast would ever eat another beast and then have one particular character just decide he wanted meat... It was a little unbelievable. Evolution drives predation. Necessity drives predation. Again, this could have been solved by a god or goddess flipping a switch in the minds of some of the animals of the world. It would have been awesome for a higher power to note that populations were increasing to unsustainable levels and cause some animals to become predators. But in the book, this change is instead presented as a natural occurrence. I didn't like it.
Beyond the science, this book had absolutely NO levity. While this presented constant action, the inability for my brain to rest between chapters actually made me more tired reading it. I am a firm believer that even the most action-oriented books need to leave space for their readers to breathe. A place where I can put down the book without thinking about picking it back up again. Not only was it constant action, but it was also CONSTANTLY dumping on the main characters and they never had any good luck. Whether they were being predated or attacked by birds, it never let up. They were constantly harried, and I'm surprised they didn't all have heart attacks from the stress.
Even with all that, I STILL have to recommend this book, as long as you have no issues with hand-waving some pretty solid scientific theories. It's a good story, and it's a fun read.

Hi, friend!!! I hope everything's been going well so far for you today.
For the character ask game: I'm gonna switch it up and say Eberwolf today haha. And/or (whichever you prefer) Kabru, now that we're at it.
Thanks pal, things are going. We live in interesting times and it sucks haha. I hope you and the cats had a lovely weekend!!
Eberwolf
How I feel about this character
A cute gremlin, I really do love thinking about his dynamic with Darius, Raine, and Hunter. His design is really adorable while also not really making any sense haha, like why does he have a button nose and not a snout, why does he wag his ponytail, haha. I wonder a lot about how he became CH and how he and Darius became so close
All the people I ship romantically with this character
None, though as absolute peak cursed content EberxHooty is funny
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Darius, obviously, there's no contest. The surrender scene still makes me insane. Like at that time we knew basically nothing about them, especially Eberwolf, but they very blatantly showed how important they were to each other in that scene. It was so cool how it was a moment that showed characters outside the main circle caring so deeply for one another, like I know Luz Eda & King are the protags but there's still stuff happening outside of them y'know
And like that scene happened after Darius' failed "only the small ones will die" joke! I don't call them an OTP but they are absolutely the same caliber, they're a pair do not separate
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think content that pokes fun at Darius is better if Eberwolf is there, if that makes sense. Like it isn't as good if it's just Eda or Raine teasing him over something
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon
An Eberwolf centric episode like if we got one for each Coven Head, or a rebel trio episode, or a scene of Eberwolf defending Darius similarly to the surrender scene. There's so much we could've learned if the show wasn't cancelled :')
---
Kabru
How I feel about this character
Oh god where to begin. Kabru is so fascinating and well-written; all the ways he foils to Laios, how his trauma impacts his appetite while being in a story all about the importance of food and taking up space, the way he's so perceptive he can easily read others and how that manifests in how he interacts with everyone in his party (like that art of how physically close he gets to each member of his team based on their comfort level), his design and backstory and all the interesting political commentaries of it all, if Kabru was in a standard shonen he'd be the protag haha.
I really hope as the rest of the anime comes out the fandom adopts a better overall understanding of him :')
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I do enjoy Labru the most, but I really like Kablaishuro(???? I know their platonic trio name idk the ot3 name). Laios's dynamic with Kabru & Shuro individually are really good but so is Kabru & Shuro's dynamic together, and that's why I was bummed when they cut the bell page from the anime it was so funny haha
Labru is just, it's so funny and versatile. They're opposites attract, and foils, and advisor x king, and oblivious vs repressed, autism4autism, etc, there're so many things that it hits and all of them are enjoyable haha. Adding Shuro makes it a million times funnier
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Kabru and Rin! It is complicated because Rin is in love with Kabru and he either doesn't reciprocate her feelings or isn't aware of them, but I ultimately don't think they're be very good together romantically. They know each other really well given their history but I feel like the choice to make Kabru not return her feelings in whatever way is like a way to say he knows it wouldn't work out. Idk they're a good duo but not as a ship
My unpopular opinion about this character
It's possible to like one of labru or kabumisu and not like the other and being normal about it 👍
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon
Hm, I'm not sure. I guess I wish the anime was handling him differently, this one blog I follow called dungeonmeshistash went into more about how the anime is making Kabru cooler than he was in the manga by taking away some of his other expressions and cringe moments. It's not like, "the anime is garbage" level but it is still a bit annoying. I'm wondering how it'll keep differing from the manga as the anime finishes
#thanks for asking!#I wrote this before seeing your response so how funny you were like “no hooty otps” meanwhile I'm like “remember cursed eberhooty fankids?”

OFMD SPOILERS S2E1:
Oh my god oh my GOD. Ok I have a fever and I can't sleep and I only watched the first episode but holy shit it's so good it's like coming home. They already gave us so much more in the FIRST EPISODE than I could've hoped for for so much of the season. Gdi this show. I'm losing it.
We got BEARD STEDE, we got a LOVERS TACKLE, we got them calling each other BABE, we got BADASS GIRLS, we got a Stede fanboy FOIL, we got an IZZY INTERVENTION with extra bonus TOES, we got a TWENTIETH HUSBAND, we got ZHENG YI fuckin SAO babes I'm screaming aaaaaahashdhdhdhss
Immediate obsessive thought is this: last season Izzy was consistently a symbol for Eds own internalised homophobia/toxic masculinity. And then all that is immediately subverted in decimated in the first few minutes of the first ep. And I was like so soon?? What are happen?? And then I realised. Is it POSSIBLE that Ed no longer needs Izzy to externalise his conflict over his masculinity hecause he is his own fucking conflict now baby. Wondering if they are going to switch places for a bit with Ed becoming a voice of toxicity and Izzy exploring his softer side? I figured they would do something like this eventually with Iz but I was not expecting it from the JUMP, incredible moves by Jenkins et al, the best of the best just the absolute mavericks.
If you have seen episodes 2-3 already and you want to tell me I'm right or wrong about this with peace and love do not fucking talk to me I don't wanna fucking hear it yetttt hugs and kisses now go away.

Tbh I kinda lost interest in MHA when the focus went from the students to the pro heroes which wouldn't have been that bad if the series were longer and we eventually would've went back to them. I loved these kids, I thought they all had so much potential to become powerful heroes or be really successful in a certain niche yet the only characters that matter are Deku, Todoroki and Bakugo and aside from them ,the pro heroes...I know Horikoshi has health issues and he has been writing this manga for years it's just I think if we would've gotten like 3 or 4 arcs centered around the students it would've probably felt better for me personally.
Hmm, I think I'm sort of in the opposite camp. I agree with you that additional arcs developing the students would have benefited the story a lot, but I preferred the series when it switched focus to the pros. That's because the pros were better positioned to provide commentary on the state of BNHA's world, which... even if the manga is about Hero School, if the plot wants to talk about "heroes vs villains" being at least in part a social construct, the pros are going to be more valuable pieces to use than a bunch of completely normal school children.
Which is unfortunate, because you end up with a cast that largely doesn't have anything to say or unique to contribute. Like, you even see that with characters like Bakugou not having much to do outside of his role foiling and growing up with Deku. I like Bakugou, but man. Man.
Todoroki, Aoyama and Iida are the closest to that discussion, but they're disconnected from the problem, are paid off too late to capitalise on and leave the conversation early respectively. Uraraka has her storyline with Toga, which is great and I'm hoping that will pay off in a way that doesn't completely center Deku.
Or, Tokoyami is adjacent to Hawks, but mostly in the capacity of "I care about my mentor, no matter what dubious things he did I believe he is a good person" which is great for Hawks, but that's still about Hawks... because Tokoyami can't be the one doing what Hawks is doing, he can only comment on it...
I think BNHA ran into the problem, really early on, that if your students are first year high school students just starting to learn how to fight or save people, outside of really wild circumstances it's difficult to get them involved in the plot if it's happening outside of school.
It's not impossible obviously (Bakugou could have been asked to go undercover in the League of Villains instead of or alongside Hawks, just off the top of my head) but if Hori really does have health issues that require speeding up this manga I can see why so many corners got cut the way they did (it really would explain a lot). Class 1A kind of just... ended up being baggage. I can see how if Horikoshi had more time to cook, 1A probably would've been set up to take the places of characters like Miruko or Best Jeanist.
Also, and this is unfortunate, Horikoshi did design the vast majority of the class to have a huge spread of powers because he wanted to showcase a variety of different kinds of heroes. It's just that stuff like that really can make you dead weight in a war arc in a combat-oriented manga. Like, what's Koda gonna do. Unfortunately, I think Horikoshi did the best he could with a lot of them during the evacuation scenes with respect to the limitations he put on them, and the fact that Deku, Bakugou and Todoroki are kind of supposed to be monsters.
I think that's probably why he ended up falling back on Mirio, Tamaki and Nejire so heavily later on... who in 1A beyond The Main Guys could possibly plausibly join the Major Fights? It really sucks, but my god it all added up horribly.
I know this isn't really popular anymore, but I actually liked a lot of the filler episodes in Naruto part 1 that featured a random grab bag of Naruto + the other genin in the village. Maybe BNHA's anime would've benefited from some of that lol

My first impression of them
genuinely this . I thought her team was annoying and since she was the favourite character of an asshole I knew at the time I kinda. Avoided her else then the passing "Yeah she's neat" thought . Anyways points at url i no longer associate her with the asshole I knew so she's mine blorbo now
When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like) Riiiiight before pla came out. Like I'm talking abt a month before. I had been gifted a switch and pkmn shield by my gf and some other friends ( love yall lots if you're reading this) like 6 or so months before that which got my interest in pokemon back after not caring since alola came out (middle+highschool I can't let people know I enjoy KIDDY things mentality) . . and I remembered she existed while thinking abt anime Looker and it spiraled from there. Here we are now I'm normal I swear . Describe the character in one sentence She invented new kinds of issues. or God wishes he had this much narrative foil (- from KK)
What’s the first thing you think about when thinking about the character?
IIVYNESSA'S WORK. SPECIFICALLY THIS ONE it did something to me mentally and I haven't recovered (positive btw)
A weird headcanon
BUGSY AND ANABEL ARE SIBLINGS AND IN THIS ESSAY I WILL-- Anyways else then that I think she has a weird tolerance for high altitude places due to how high the battle tower goes (so many versions of it in the anime/manga like climb above the clouds and the top can't be seen its So good.) Aka worst girl to go hiking with she Will go faster then you can in the mountains.

1, 2, 10 for loz!
1. Favorite character
Oh god there's so many characters-
I think at the moment it's either Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass or Groose from Skyward Sword. Linebeck's a great foil to Link and has great development, and Groose has a phenomenal character arc of going from school bully to a hero in his own right despite not being chosen like Link or Zelda.
2. Favorite episode/chapter/etc
Well it's games in this scenario, and I think either Breath Of The Wild or Skyward Sword. I love the artstyle, openworld nature and characters of BotW, and the gutsiness to set it post-apocalyptic (so hyped for the sequel!)
Skyward Sword has an equally pleasing artstyle, and I love the story of it so so much. Plus now on the Switch I don't have to use motio controls, huge plus lol
10. What are your headcanons?
I don't actually have many hcs tbh! The only one coming to mind is that the Rito in BotW are descended from the Loftwings in SS. However I'm really hoping the BotW sequel is gonna disprove this and the loftwings are gonna return.
