Full Moon - July 21st, 2024
July 21st Full Moon
Tumblr media
Each Full Moon has a tendency to bring with it disruption.  It is a time that is naturally turbulent and can trigger rebellious energy.  People are more prone to pick a fight or to get triggered into reactive and aggressive spaces.
This Full Moon is carrying extra danger with it.  We will do best to stay away from protests, large crowds, construction areas, places with power tools and heavy equipment.  This is a time where reactive energy can cause accidents and lead to death.  Those that are working from highly charged emotions, are dangerous to be around; and their carelessness can create strong issues.  We may also see suicides up at this time; as people look to escape the world and breakdown from the pressure that they are feeling.  The key is to consciously choose our endings, and to close things out with love.  This is the art of transformation, and will allow us to work with this energy in a more favorable way.
This can be a great time to work with a mentor or to take a course that helps us to put our own ideas and plans into the world.  The mind is able to learn things easily and is able to understand how the experiences that others have had; translates into the experiences that they are having in their own life.  It is easier to make the connections, and to see what we need to apply in our own life.
Stress and tension are likely to be present.  For some, they will be able to use this to polish themselves and bring refinement to what they are doing.  For others, they could find themselves struggling to not stress over every little thing.  The key is to consider what is reasonable and real; and what is simply trying to tear us down.  In most cases, we will want to simply push through things and get them over with.  Backing away from things will not benefit us at this time.
Lies, deception, and manipulation will cause things to become blocked and stagnant.  We need to take a careful look at the reason why we are doing things, and the motives behind our actions.  Nothing can move forward unless it resides in Divine Alignment.  Those that try to sabotage or take advantage of others, will be exposed for their corruption.  This is likely to lead them to endure some strong losses.  Often times, our heart is in the right place; but we are still doing things for money.  It is important to shift the reason behind things, and allow money to be the result of doing things from Divine Service.
This is a time where we can create some powerful successes for ourselves; if we are willing to let go of our temptations and addictions.  This is about choosing real and lasting happiness, over small temporary pleasures.  Temptations and addictive energy are likely to surface where we are feeling stress and pressure.  It is not that we actually want what we are being tempted by; but that we are just looking for ways to calm the stress.  We are much better off if we will take a break and simply connect with God, Divine Presence, and the Soul Self.  There is no better “cure” for stress than this.  If we pass the tests that are put before us today, we can unfold many wonderful blessings and joy.
In the Northern Hemisphere, we have the Thunder Moon and the Hay Moon.  In the influence of the Thunder Moon, we are called to focus on those things that open our heart and allow us the beauty of standing in the Soul Self.  It is a time to walk away from those that are trying to pick battles and break our Spirit; and to take the time to connect with our Soul Self, so that we can feel its abundance and joy flowing through us.  This is a great time to do things that are humanitarian, and help those that are truly in need.  The more we are able to help those in need, the more blessings that will grow in our own life.  It is a great time for making accomplishments, and finishing up things that we have been working on.
In the energy of the Hay Moon, many people will be seeking to be adventurous and just embrace the Free-Spirit” within them.  It favors doing things in less structured ways, and allowing ourselves to get out and have some real experiences in life.  People are feeling confident; and the choices that they make will give them the opportunity to shift more into a life that they love.  This can be a great time to simplify the way that we are living, and to enjoy the natural foods and flavors of the season.  Where things become stagnant, we just want to take the time to appreciate the magnificence of everyday things.  It is a call to be still and see the profoundness that exists in nature; and to connect with its authenticity.  We cannot truly know something until we really begin to look at the layers that we take for granted.
I welcome you to walk away from those that are trying to pick battles with you and break your Spirit.  What if instead, you connect with your Soul Self and feel its abundance flowing through you?
I welcome you to consider what supports you in living more in your own “Free-Spirit” energy.  What if we naturally open this up, when we let go of living in highly structured ways?
In the Southern Hemisphere, we have the Wolf Moon, the Old Moon, and the Ice Moon.  In the energy of the Wolf Moon, we are called to find ways to build our Celestial Insurance.  We do this when we help those that are unable to help themselves.  It can be a great time to do anything from helping a neighbor or friend with a project, to simply spending time with someone that can’t get out much and could use a little company.  Even the smallest acts of helping others, can make a huge difference.  This is a time where we are called to stop competing with others, and to start building positive relationships with them.  As we do this, we bring success for all involved.
In the energy of the Old Moon, we are shown that success and happiness unfold where we are standing strong to doing quality work in ethical ways.  It is a time where we can find the solutions to things that challenge us; and this is the result of being willing to think outside of the box, and look at things from different perspectives.  It is a time where we can take abstract concepts and put them into practical applications.  Mostly, if we are putting forth the effort and seeing things through completely, we will find success with the things that we are working on.
In the energy of the Ice Moon, we see that there is a lot of progress being made by Spiritual Warriors.  It is a time of rapid advancement where we are working in Divine Alignment and increase God’s Presence and heart-centered energy into the world.  This can indicate attacks from those that are corrupt.  Assassination energy is present, and this means that more military presence may be required to provide protection for those that are doing God’s Work or standing up for the people.  We are best to be in observation, and to stay out of battles that are not ours.  This can be a great time for a personal retreat and doing some extra self-care.
I welcome you to help those that are unable to help themselves.  What if even small acts of helping can make a huge difference and build up Celestial Insurance?
I welcome you to consider how abstract concepts can bring forth solutions.  What if abstract concepts can be put into practical application? I welcome you to embrace any advancements you are making.  What if this is the result of working from heart-centered energy?

Behind Blindfolds
Tumblr media
Nobody expected the world to end the way it does until it starts. It was always thought to happen all in one go but instead it drags on for years of feigning really living when all they’re doing is surviving. In this situation maybe, surviving is really losing.
Summary: The babies are born on the same day. Patrick should never have been trusted.
Chapter 1 2 3 4 5 + ao3
Taglist: @fuckboykaspbrak @thesquidliesthuman @rachi0964 @beepbeep-losers@bigbilliamdenbro@jalenrose11@sleepygaybrough@itandstrangerthingsfanfic@boopboopbichie @peachywyatt@aizeninlefox@sockwantstodie @ahoybyeler@yooonbum @coffeekaspbrak@sedanleystanley
The next morning brings what nobody would have expected. New life and the loss of someone else’s, a true example of the circle that life is. Kay feels the early signs of contractions and labor right around when the sun would be coming up and it tells her that she will be in for a long and painful day. She’s been to all the mommy and labor seminars and has done everything she can to prepare, but she still doesn’t feel ready. She doesn’t think any first time moms ever truly feel ready for what’s ahead of them. She doesn’t tell anyone until it becomes unbearable, she simply elects to sit on the couch and sip at a cold glass of water between the contractions she tries to bite back. Eventually she just knows that she’s close enough, and when she gets to that point she decides to tell someone. She doesn’t want to alarm anyone so she just quietly waddles her way to the room where Bill is staying. He’s a leader figure for the group, he feels like a good person to ask for help. She’s more comfortable with Bev, but Bev is still asleep so Bill is the next best thing.
“William,” she says to him in a hushed voice to catch his attention without making a commotion among anyone else. He looks over at her with his big, blueish gray eyes. “I’m having this baby, like right now I think,” she says with a quiet and hurried sense of urgency. She lets out another hiss of pain as another contraction plagues her. Though she’s been trying to avoid this exact situation, a look of panic crosses Bill’s face before he starts shouting what are probably directions to the others but Kay is too deep into focusing on the pain in her lower regions to pay attention to him telling them to get Bev and water and towels. They get her set up on some towels on the bed in the master bedroom to try and prepare her. Eddie sees the baby’s head and nearly throws up then and there so Bill tells he and Richie to leave the room (knowing Richie probably isn’t mature enough to handle a situation like this).
Bev crouches at Kay’s side, letting her hold her hand as tightly as she needs to. Bev has never been in the room while someone gives birth before, it’s an interesting and unique experience. Kay almost likes the pain, able to feel her pulse nearly everywhere in her body, it’s empowering. It’s almost funny how people used to tell her to “grow a pair” when balls can be so fragile but a vagina can expand enough to let out another human being and still heal and return to normal. It reminds her just how powerful and resilient she is, she really needed something like this.
“Oh m-my God I s-see the head,” Bill stammers out, ready to help any way he is able to. He’s never done something like this but the videos in eighth grade health class are bound to be enough, right? Before Kay can push again to further how far out the baby is, Beverly tries to bite back a scream of her own. They’d had similar due dates, but they think that fate decided that their kids needed to be born on the same day. It’s a stressful miracle.
She can’t hide it that easily, soon assuming a similar position to what Kay’s been in. They hold each other’s hands so tightly that they feel they might break, their groans and screams sounding like some sort of off key duet. The labor and delivery process is a complete blur for all of them from there. Bill cuts the umbilical cords and presses the babies to their moms’ chests. The screams of Beverly and Kay are replaced by those of the infants, it’s a surprisingly serene feeling despite how loud it is. Beverly has a little boy. He seems to have Tom’s nose, but most of Beverly’s other features. Kay has a little girl, a seemingly more healthy baby than Beverly’s little one, probably because of how much more Kay had paid attention to her pregnancy from the beginning, she’d also been under less stress than Bev has been.
Patrick is downstairs, alone. He pulls out his sketchbook again. It’s so much easier to leaf through and admire when the lights are on. He’s drawn that thing, It. He finds it beautiful. The perfect subject of his art and of most of his thoughts. Though he doesn’t think drawings really do It any justice. He longs to see it again, and he realizes that there’s nobody to stop him. He jumps up and rips the cardboard from over the windows, letting the sunlight penetrate the glass and into the home. He just wants to share it, with all of them, it’s the most wonderful thing the human eye can ever witness.
He sees the birds in the small cage in the room, he doesn’t want them to escape, these annoying creatures in his opinion. They don’t deserve to see it. He covers the cage with a thick blanket, laughing at the panicked chirps that erupt from them.
Stan watches part of this though the window in the door to the garage. He pounds with his palms against the door in his sudden fury, “Hey! What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Cover the windows before we all fucking die!” he yells, straining his vocal cords to sound more intimidating with his commands, while also keeping his eyes shielded to try and protect himself. He knew he had a bad feeling about this guy, and he’s almost filled with a sort of spiteful relief to know that it wasn’t just his own selfishness.
Patrick only turns his head to face him with a maniacal smile that he’ll never forget. His eyes are blank, he’s completely expressionless besides the creepily wide grin. His eyes trail over to the button on the counter that closes the garage. The lightbulb in his mind brightens. He grabs the small remote and prompts the garage to open to let the light stream in. He watches as Stan dies and he can only shrug to himself. Guess he doesn’t understand true beauty, Patrick thinks. The next mission is to go upstairs and show the others, it’s his duty as someone who’s seen the light.
He almost runs up the stairs, giddy with the excitement of the fresh sighting. Richie and Eddie are simply sitting on the floor in the hallway with their backs against the wall and their hands intertwined. They hardly hear Patrick, he’s rather light on his feet for such a tall and lanky man. They hardly notice or acknowledge him until he starts to rip down the cardboard, he ignores their screams and cries for him to stop, they wish the hall didn't have a window at all. They try to cover their eyes but it doesn’t do them much use. They’re still holding hands when their bodies hit the floor. Patrick hears the babies’ cries from the master bedroom and that’s the motivation he needs to go in there, opening the door and stepping inside.
In the bedroom, Kay and Beverly lay side by side on the bed with Bill sitting with his legs hanging over the edge of the bed. The three of them talk softly. Patrick watches the soothed scene in his manic awe. They’re happy, but he thinks he can make them even happier by showing them what he knows. He smiles at them as sweetly as he can, noticing how he’s worrying them with his look. “Babies,” he says in a soft tone, drawing nearer to them. They don’t tell him not too, though Kay gets very visibly uncomfortable when he strokes the hairs on her daughter’s head.
“I have to bless them,” Patrick says, not stopping and then shifting his hand to Beverly’s son’s head. They think he’ll be done there. Maybe this guy is a religious figure of some sort and thinks this is somehow meaningful. But instead he pulls away as suddenly as he’d come into the room. He walks his way to the window, starting to pick at the tape on the edges. When the girls notice it they throw the blankets over them and their children for protection.
Bill springs up from his spot, it seems like he’s abandoning them but really he’s on a mission to find the gun, the same one they’d scolded and punished Stan for aiming at Patrick only a day before. Patrick really does pull all the tape off successfully, the cardboard falling and the light pushing into the room like how it had filled the hallway only minutes before this. Though nobody but him knows it until Bill sees Richie and Eddie there. He wants to break down crying but he knows he can’t leave Beverly and Kay alone and defenseless with their children.
Patrick is very obviously upset about them all avoiding to look at what he loves more than anything. “Hey! Look! It’s beautiful,” he says in an airy and excited voice, gesturing wildly. He wants to show them more desperately than he’s ever wanted to do anything in the world. It doesn’t phase him to see the aftermath when it sometimes makes people die. It’s like when he was a kid, he’s numb to it at this point. He goes over to the bed, yanking at Kay’ side of the blanket because she’s closer to him and the window than Beverly is.
Beverly already goes to grab Kay’s baby from her. She doesn’t know why she does, it’s completely instinctual. Like her brain decides that if she can’t protect Kay as easily she needs to protect her child. She eventually gets the infant pried away from her friend as Patrick exposes her to the light. She’s crying, sobbing really. She’s grown so much to love Kay and feel comfort in her presence. And she can hear her now best friend hit the floor after seeing what she shouldn’t have. She didn’t deserve that fate by any means. Kay proved herself to be a kind soul and one of the most interesting people Beverly has ever talked to. She’ll never forget the time she’s known her.
Bill comes racing back in as Patrick starts tugging at the blanket to get Bev and the screaming infants. He’s blindfolded so he can’t see the windows and he’s holding a handgun from the basement an arm’s length away from his body, he’s not used to the idea of shooting with intent to kill, especially not a human being. He’s not a hunter but he has tuned his ears better to about everything, so he uses Patrick’s movements to find where in the room he is. He shoots once and he misses, and misses two more times before he hears the thud. Bev is too busy crying to know, so when he comes behind her under the blanket so he can remove his blindfold and make sure that she’s okay. She squirms and tells him to leave her alone, bringing back bad memories.
He stops as soon as she seems to be upset, “It’s m-me, Bill, are you hurt?” he asks, and she turns to him, trying to wipe her tears away and loosen the grip she has on the kids now that she assumes they’re safe if Bill is being so much calmer.
“No, not really,” she says with a hiccup over her words, having gone through a traumatic day. Before they can even cover the windows again, they both end up asleep completely under the safety of the blanket, unable to stay awake due the shock and exhaustion, their minds and bodies need a break.

Love, Drugs, and the Transformational Power of Exercise
Greatist Journeys explore fantastic stories from remarkable people. Jonathan Angelilli is a New york city fitness trainer, board sports fanatic, and author. The views expressed here are his. For more from Jonathan, follow him on Twitter and Facebook.
I'll never ever neglect the very first time I sniffed a prohibited drug up my nose, I was 17 years of ages, angry at the globe, and in my moms and dad's cellar with friends. The bathroom has this marble counter leading and also a very distinct smell, which to now still brings me best back to my dark teenage years. My life back then was out of balance as well as unmanageable, as well as my only escape ended up originating from an unanticipated resource of empowerment.
The Path of Self-Destruction
Growing up in Queens in the 90s, ecstasy was the medicine of selection. Unfortunately, it had not been also the all-natural things from the plant, however a more typical mix of drug, heroin, as well as rate. At the very least I believe that's what it was, I had no concept where it really came from except my pal's pocket. We chopped up the tablets carefully with a shaver blade, divided the powder right into two small lines, as well as smelled one each.
I was an excellent kid, obtained right A's, and all that jazz, yet medications helped fill up a deep hole in my life, they added excitement and also social connections, also meaning, to my otherwise angry existence. My memories of these years are rather hazy, completely factor, yet I'm rather sure I was an addict by the time I was 16. Months of getting high as well as chuckling till my tummy hurt, telling myself 'I could quit anytime I intend to, I simply don't intend to' developed into years of 'Oh my god, I cannot stop ...' I have no uncertainty now, after years of therapy, reflection, and self-inquiry, that my substance abuse was a kind of self-medication, a method for me to avoid my stress and anxiety and also anger.
It wasn't till I went away to college that I had the ability to stop my suicidal routines. Back residence, there were a lot of familiar pals as well as areas that coaxed me back right into my dependency, a change of scenery as well as individuals was exactly what I should start fresh. I do not assume that would have been sufficient on its own. There were two significant practices that I began my fresher year of college that guaranteed my capacity to quit forever: workout and meditation.
Exercise for Love (And also By Love I Mean Sex)
A brand-new university buddy down the hall, who was a football player, started taking me to the fitness center, leading me with workouts, revealing me the best ways to maintain track of exercise programs, lift with excellent strategy, as well as securely press my limitations. My motivation to exercise was not to quit my medication addiction, yet rather to look far better for the ladies. My secondary school crush was in love with this man that was both jacked and ripped, an unstoppable combination that left me really feeling undersized and lame. I needed to get huge muscular tissues, and quick, otherwise I was never ever going to be able to compete for her love. I functioned out non-stop that year, trying brand-new exercises, keeping a workout journal, and dedicating myself to a goal like never before.
When I got back for the summertime after my freshman year, I already seemed like a new person, larger, more powerful, a lot more confident, a lot more in control, and happier. I had a brand-new substance addiction that included significance, social links, as well as exhilaration to my life: exercise. I never ever did win the affection of my crush, however I found something inside myself that was way more crucial: the capacity to meet my psychological and bodily potential.
Working out included structure to my life and offered me a feeling of purpose. Each day, I had something to do that really felt enjoyable, the exercises might have hurt, but the sense of achievement later on was intoxicating.
And I just liked the concept that I could improve and also much better (and more powerful and stronger) with practice. Prior to I had actually really felt persistantly helpless as well as low energy, exercising frequently gave me both electrical power and also energy, essentially. With each success, I rededicated myself to the process, carefully tracking my workouts, constantly trying to eject another representative compared to in the past, pushing myself and my restrictions, and try out different kinds of programs as well as exercises.
Overcoming Common Obstacles
You could be reading this article and also claim to on your own, 'OK, yet you enjoy working out, I hate it! I don't have sufficient time. It harms and is frustrating/embarrassing to exercise!' If that holds true, well then good, you are much like the rest of us. I constantly liked affordable sporting activities, however for many of my life I disliked workout for the sake of workout. Only when I attached my primitive motivations (sex) with my day-to-day commitment to workout, did I get hooked on workout, it offered me really hope and motivation. Honestly, it resembled rocket gas for my motivation as well as will certainly power.
Ask yourself why you want to be fit. Ask yourself why. Certain everybody wishes to 'look much better nude,' however be straightforward with on your own as well as ask why you intend to look better nude. Do you wish to locate a life companion, or simply a remarkable boyfriend/girlfriend? Are you looking for more confidence with your body? Do you require more power for job, life, or your household? Be sincere with yourself and keep asking 'why?' up until you reach the primal motivations: food, success, shelter, companionship, family.
Our forefathers just weren't exercising to look far better in a swimsuit, they were working out so they might endure and also thrive. You should, too. It had not been till I tapped right into my 'reason' that I discovered myself prioritizing the fitness center as well as intending to workout, rather of focusing on every little thing but the health club and also not wishing to workout.
The Master of All Excuses: 'I Don't Have Sufficient Time'
The most common challenge, certainly, is the self-deception that you 'do not have sufficient time.' Most of us obtain 168 hours each week, so time isn't really the problems, it's concerns. Training clever just 3 one hours a week is an incredible financial investment that guarantees the various other 165 hrs are as productive, happy, and healthy as possible.
Connect with your motivations, and also then arrange your exercises, to make sure that they are prioritized today. Keep the commitment to on your own and obtain it done! One little tip I use with my clients is telling them to 'talk out loud' when it's time to go to the gym. Many individuals chat themselves from visiting the fitness center, in their head, so I ask them to say those deliberate loud. 'Oh, I'll merely go later on today or tomorrow' or 'I do not seem like functioning out,' or in some cases 'I hate exercising, I am not going.' Something concerning taking those ideas and talking them aloud instantly allows you to register them as false. No, you will probably not workout later on, you scheduled it now so the time is now!
Exercise Your Electrical power to Produce a Delighted Life
I believe about that power of exercise to transform you-- physically, mentally, and emotionally-- since I am living proof. I've been blessed to personally witness my customers change themselves with workout over the last 11 years. Right here I am today, drug cost-free, pleased, healthy, and as passionate regarding exercise as ever! I can go to the top of the Empire State Structure in 13 minutes, rock climb 5.12/ V5, run a 5K in 19 minutes, and do a 540 on my snowboard. Most significantly, I've discovered ways to take advantage of my personal power, allowing me to produce the most effective version of myself, my life, and also my body, no issue exactly what the circumstances or challenges.
I consider myself genuinely blessed to have actually made it with my turbulent adolescent years and am deeply grateful that sharing the transformational electrical power of workout is my life's work. Now it's your resort to devote to the process and see where your health and fitness trip will take you.
Have any kind of ideas, inquiries, remarks, or a personal trip of your very own? Share in the comments here!

New GVHD Blood Treatment Update. 12.31.17
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
Is tonight already New Year’s Eve? Time keeps passing so fast. Tomorrow is the start of 2018, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m disappointed that I’m not where I hoped I’d be by now with my health. And along with continued GVHD being unpredictable, there have been so many new changes recently! A new place to live, new GVHD blood treatments, and also a new hospital and team for some of those treatments. (I still love all my UCLA doctors, but city of hope has a Graft vs Host Disease clinic that UCLA doesn’t have, their campus is more convenient to get to, and parking there is free!)
We’re still in survival mode, and we’re still pressing on. It just occurred to me that I’ve been living with chronic Graft vs Host Disease for over a year now. I’m not sure if I’m any better or worst, or the same again, from how I was doing in September when things got scary bad. Is this just the way life goes? I’m learning to accept it and fight the temptation towards bitterness… Because Romans 8 and James 1 and Philippians 4 and intimately knowing who God is, are some powerful motivators.
The last time I shared, my breathing wasn’t doing well. I went in to three different specialists who did several types of tests that all came back normal. I haven’t noticed as many breathing issues as frequently as they were last month… but then many other symptoms have become more severe, and each day and each week are all pretty unpredictable. Symptoms come and go and the severity of each symptom varies from mild to extreme depending on the day, but I haven’t been able to find the patterns and triggers yet. I’m having trouble functioning most of the time and Caleb is constantly on overdrive for me, handling it all like a champ of coarse. Showing me the literal tangible picture of Jesus’s sacrificial, selfless love, daily. I’m so thankful that despite all these hard things, I have a husband who is committed to humility. Now that’s a leader I will gladly follow, and a gift that I hope I never take for granted!
When your entire world is turned upside down with no end in sight, and no assurance of physical relief, you have to change your expectations and look for the little glimmers of light in each moment. Or else the darkness of selfishness and pride will consume you (and there are times when it still creeps in and gets too cozy).
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:5-10
This season is really forcing me to slow down, and pay attention to each small thing in front of me because that’s all my tired mind can handle focusing on right now. But, like all trials for a true Christian, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. (James 1) How much was I missing before, when I was distracted by things that are all physical and superficial?
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Maybe I was supposed to learn that… and maybe I was supposed to share it with anyone who’s willing to listen..
Imbruvica isn’t working as well as they hoped, so the next thing they’re trying for treatment seems low risk and promising, but it will be a big long term commitment. I’ll start extracorporeal photophoresis (AKA ecp, or photopheresis) which is photobiomodulation (or light therapy) of the blood; with city of hope next week. I had my Hickman central line placed last week, which will be my new accessory for a while. It’s a blood treatment where I’ll get transfusions twice a week until they see the results they’re hoping for, and then eventually taper down. The closest common thing I can think of to compare it to would be dialysis, because they’re taking blood out of my body, using this machine to filter/clean the blood with a special form of UV light, and then putting it back in my body. Most people with GVHD in forums that I’ve read do this for a few years, but of coarse I’m hoping it’s less. A year ago I would have been upset about this treatment, but now I’m just so thankful for an option, desperate for relief and ready to start!
I took a break from social media a little under two months ago and it’s been so good for me… I’m not sure how / to what extent I’ll go back, we’ll see. But if you’ve been considering deleting your social media apps for a season, I highly recommend it. My well-being and contentment have improved so much, by removing temptation to envy, to over share and the selfishness that it can breed. And I’m no longer dragged down by negativity every time I instinctively check facebook. It’s wonderful! Thanks to Tony Reinke (12 ways your Phone is changing you) & Simon Sinek!
We also moved a few weeks ago, and I can’t be more thankful that it all came together - yet in the most chaotic and stressful way. Between Caleb traveling on a few different business trips out of state, my symptoms and breathing trouble all flaring up limiting my ability to function or pack. Caleb was planning on packing everything for us the weekend before, in the short window that he was home in two weeks - but he got the worst stomach flu he’s ever had. He recovered right before he left for his next trip, and got back the day before our “moving day” to pack. It felt like everything that could go wrong, did. BUT. With the help of our family and friends that weekend it all worked out, and now we can laugh about it with dropped jaws! Even though there are plenty of things going “wrong” in life, there are plenty of things going right too. In our other apartment I had to calculate how much energy it’d take me to walk up and down the stairs and find my parking spot (which was another source of stress: parking!) if I wanted to leave the house. Now we have an attached garage on the first floor and I am able to use more of my scarce energy on things that actually matter! Thank you, Lord for these little blessings!
So that’s the latest! Please pray that these new treatments work… I’m really praying that God would allow me to heal so I can function, we can live our lives and move past this long season of survival mode. But if that’s not in God’s Sovereign and ultimately greater plan, please pray that my heart would change. That Caleb and I would continue to fight for the beloved joy that is only found in Jesus’s saving grace.
Until next time, Elisabeth
PS. I put together a little youtube playlist that I keep on in the background at home. It’s peaceful and beautiful and sincere and uplifting. I thought I’d share in case anyone else would like it too. You can click here to listen. :)

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. Psalm 51:8-15

• You can use cellphone in communicating others.
• In your studying, in your assignments if you need to search you may use cellphone.
• You can watch movies and you can downloads all your wants but remember the internet tips.
• You can make an power point. If you don't have laptop, you may use cellphone. Then after making your power point you can transfer it in a flashdrive. To copy it in the laptop for your power point presentation
• Cellphones can also use in editing such as videos, pictures, etc.
• May you use cellphones in taking a picture not only in taking a pictures it can also use in shooting if you don't have DSLR, GO PRO or other technology may use in making a movie.
• But remember, cellphone has disadvantages. Users get addicted especially online games. Students may fail in their subjects, get a low grades because they are addicted in playing online games. Most of us especially students who addicted in their gadgets, when they wake up the first thing they do is to check their social media accounts and texting their girlfriends/boyfriends. We are becoming lazy interms house hold task, reviewing our lessons, making our assignments. And because of too much addiction in using our cellphone or gadgets, we can't avoid using of cellphones.
• Using cellphones or having a cellphones have so many advantages but I will not mention it anymore.

My first blog! Lots of editing to do. But here
A letter to James Dolan Picture this: It is a Friday afternoon. You are in midtown Manhattan stuck in your miserable cubicle perfecting the spreadsheets that your 29 year old boss (You are 34) told you to complete for his presentation to the potential investor next week. He has littered the office with motivational posters about how hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. This is ironic, because you lack both talent and motivation. A rare breed you are. He starts off every morning meeting with a new quote that he found on google about teamwork. Now, he sits you down, and says “listen up, kid (You are 34) I have spent the last 6 months building this startup from the ground, with nothing but elbow grease and a reasonable loan from my fiancées father. We finally have a chance for a breakthrough here, and I need you to be on your A game with these spreadsheets. As he walks out of your lifeless workspace, he takes the last strawberry candy from the extremely tasteful candy bowl you so elegantly placed in the corner desk. You are on the verge of tears now. This was the last candy and you were saving it for after lunch. Why would he take the last candy? Sure, you put the bowl there for coworkers to munch on and, well, if they come take a strawberry candy they HAVE to talk to you. But this was the LAST candy. You won’t be able to restock until tomorrow when you wake up in your studio alone and walk to Duane Reade with a 50% off coupon and argue with the cashier about the expiration date. You know it’s expired, but pay full price for a bag of candy at Duane Reade? That’s just not in your nature, now is it? Internally, you are about to snap. But just as you reach your breaking point, your phone begins to ring. It’s “Mike from college” calling. Wow, he hasn’t answered your last 6 texts. Do you think he’s just seeing them all now and feels the friendly urge to tell you that he never meant to ignore your “what’s the move tonight” text that you sent 3 times? You answer the phone. Eagerly. Way too eagerly. “Mike? Mike? Is that you MIKE.” The hesitation in his voice speaks volumes. The initial silence is louder than a sonic blast. But you aren’t the type of guy who notices these things. “Hey bud…how you been? Got an extra ticket to the Knicks game tonight. They are playing the Wizards at the garden, and was curious if you wanted to come.” Your face lights up. “Holy shit Mike, I would love to! Is it just us??” “Yeah…I only have 2 tickets, and I haven’t been able to find a single person to take it.” You ignore this implication that you are Mike’s last resort. You have one talent, and that is selective hearing. And damn you are good. “Well count me IN, man! Wanna meet up for drinks before?” “Let’s just meet up at the front gate man.” This sounds great to you. You get sweaty and your lips and fingers swell when you drink. You have a medically diagnosed extremely severe case of GERD anyway, so you were never able to keep up with mike and the fellas. So you finish up your spreadsheets, hand them to your boss (He’s 29) and get ready to go home and put on your childhood Patrick Ewing jersey that still fits because you didn’t make it past 5’7”. Now, its 7:30. You and Mike take your level 200 seats and you can’t help but gawk at the view. “Mike!” you say. “These seats are UNBELIEVEABLE” Of course, you hear Mike, but you somehow don’t notice him rolls his eyes as he unenthusiastically says “Yeah man, they are ok.” You are in awe of the light show, the spectacle that this organization puts on. As they introduce the 5 starting power forwards you can’t help but notice how electric the crowd is. People of all cultures unified as one. It’s a full house in the Garden tonight, as it always is. The raucous crowd lives and dies with every single basket. You howl in agony as Julius Randle misses a wide open layup, and you shriek in ecstasy when he gets his own rebound and is able to tie the game at 20. The game ebbs and flows, and you clutch Mikes arm and beg him to stand up so you have a better chance at catching a flying T-shirt. One wizzes right over your head. “Mike, imagine if you got on my shoulders? We could have totally snagged that one!” You have never BEEN so giddy. Mike must be stressed about the game- it’s been a while since he acknowledge your requests to start a “wave” with him. You understand, it’s a heck of a close game. 4th Quarter and it’s tied at 68 a pop. Can you believe? The boys actually have a chance to win this one! You never want to leave this environment. Thousands of people all unified with you in your despair but unabashed optimism. Now there is only 20 seconds left in the game. The crowd absolutely shakes. It is unlike anything you have ever seen before. Warriors fans weren’t this loud when the team was about to win its 2nd straight title. Marcus Morris shakily dribbles the ball up court as the clock ticks down. 10,9,8. As the air tight defense of the injury riddled Wizards move up to blanket him, he manages to get the ball to the power forward that is playing shooting guard. Bobby Portis backs down his defender, and you instinctively place your hands over Mikes, desperate for emotional support. He almost didn't notice how clammy they were. Almost. 4 seconds left now. With nobody who has ever attempted a 3 in their careers on the court, Portis knows his best option is to get the ball to Mitch Robinson in the paint. He heaves the ball up in desperate hope. 3 seconds left, and as Mitch catches the ball 2 feet from the hoop, you can feel the vibrations on your feet of all the fans seizing at such an unfamiliar situation. 1 second left. Mitch dunks the ball as time expires. THAT’S IT! The Knicks win! Walt Clyde Frazier shouts. The screams reverberate throughout the entire facility. Strangers hug. The Garden is roaring. You clumsily grasp for Mike. The Kicks have won their 4th preseason game 76-75 and Mike tells you that he has plans after the game but can you venom him 120 bucks whenever you get the chance? Thanks. Mike and the narrator may not be real, but the infectious atmosphere of MSG during even a routine and pointless preseason game is. This is, of course a blessing and a curse. All the Knicks woes and misfortunes come down to one common theme. James Dolan. The Clown prince of New York. Jimmy could almost be a sympathetic figure. The only reason he isn’t is because he is a gross, cold hearted, relentlessly aggressive dictator who has imprisoned an entire cities fan base into a pit of shame and mockery. Other than that, you almost feel bad for the guy. You see, there is one commonalty between us and him. It is that the Knicks are all we have. Excluding his prodigious band “JD and the straight shots” the New York Rangers/Liberty and Madison Square Garden as whole. But you get the point perhaps. Dolan is a stubborn pillock, but knows the value of what he owns. The Knicks are a money printing MACHINE, and while their head coaches may change every 18 months, that truth will remain absolute. I won’t speak with 100 percent conviction what makes Jimmy tick. Why he acts the way he does. Why he lashes out so extravagantly and embarrasses himself on an annual basis. But I feel justified in explaining why he won’t sell the team. It is a business that he is in charge of. He has stockholders to answer to, and he is, of course stubborn as a mule. One thing that might make you feel better: He is as miserable as the rest of us. There is only one way the Knicks escape from his clutches. An offer he can’t refuse. While that perhaps not impossible, there HAS to be another way. This is where I speak to Jim directly. Please, for the love of God…just get out of the way. If you can’t give up the team, just give up the reigns. We know every decision the Knicks make go through you. The management is absolutely despicable. They remain because they are loyal to you. This is how dictatorship usually works. Here, the best man for the job won’t stay, just the guys who kisses ass. It is time to face the facts. You are not capable of running the Knicks yourself. You knew that about the Rangers. You gave up the reigns with them, and they are a pretty respectable team historically and recently. Hell, does anybody outside of New York even realize you own the Rangers? You MUST be able to see that this has gone too far. You are in a hole you cannot escape from. The world of basketball sees you as a joke, and more notably a cancer. This is the type of perspective one does not simply change or escape from. If you won’t sell, you have but one way out of this mutually painful partnership: HIDE. Just remove yourself from the spotlight. Give someone else the power. GET OUT OF THE WAY. If it works, go ahead and congratulate yourself. You still own the team. But while you are still the guy at the head of the table…nobody will take us seriously. Please Jim, set us free.

March 11, 2018 - “Fullness in the Knowledge of God” 2 Peter 1:1-21
Click KEEP READING to read the full sermon.
Introduction
In ancient times the prophet Amos gave a dreadful prophecy.
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.” (Amos 8:11-12)
This prophecy was primarily given to the nation of Israel who rebelled against God and defied his word. It was fulfilled when the Hebrew people were scattered throughout the world as a divine judgment to their utter stubbornness and wickedness. For four hundred years—between the Old Testament and New Testament—no prophet was sent by the LORD and appeared before Israel to proclaim to them the Word of God.
At the end of four hundred years, John the Baptist stood before Israel and the people eagerly listened to his message. He was the prophet of God, described as a “voice in the wilderness,” proclaiming the Word of God to Israel to prepare them for the coming of Jesus the Messiah. And when Jesus appeared, he invited the people to listen to his teachings for someone greater than Moses, the greatest prophet of Israel, stood in their midst. It was a great privilege for Simon Peter to be chosen as one of the twelve apostles. Knowing God through Jesus was a divine revelation and a humbling process for Peter. It was him who confessed that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of the living God. Yet, in his false belief of Jesus as the political Messiah, he defended his Lord as if he was to lead a rebellion against the empire. This unfounded hope led him to disown Jesus three times. For Simon Peter, the death of Jesus on the cross was the greatest loss in his life and an end to all his dreams for the kingdom of God. The resurrection of Jesus transformed Peter. The risen Christ appeared to Peter on the seashore of Galilee and restored him to his loving embrace. Apostle Peter understood the significance of the cross. “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Pet. 3:18a). And he called all the Christian brethren to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and share in his suffering with this encouraging word, “For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (2:25). This revealed knowledge of God is a sure anchor to our lives.
Our knowledge of God is a firm foundation of our Christian faith and life. It is a solid anchor of our eternal salvation as we yield our all in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. So we endure to the end as we go through every fiery trial in this fallen world. And our blessed hope will never fail us as we wait for the coming of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.
The foundation of our knowledge of God is build upon the saving grace of the triune God. Simon Peter revealed this truth in his first general letter addressed to the persecuted Christian brethren in Asia Minor. It is God the Father who chose his own people who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and sanctified by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit (1 Pet. 1:2). This relationship sets apart Christians as the covenant people of God. Peter proclaimed, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (2:9). Anchored upon this divine calling, he gave an authoritative command, “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in everything” (1:15). And Peter invited all Christians to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and share in his sufferings (2:21).
The second epistle of Apostle Peter was written with similar intention to encourage the early believers who suffer for the cause of Christ. The stress, however, focused on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. It served as a reminder to stimulate them into wholesome thinking in order that they may be circumspect in their daily living with a blessed hope to dwell in the eternal kingdom of God when Jesus returns. Our knowledge of the saving grace of the triune God will find its fulfillment at the coming of Jesus Christ. To this end, Apostle Peter encouraged all persecuted Christians to be faithful unto the end.
Simon Peter opened his second epistle with a salutation (2 Pet. 1:1-2). And in establishing the faith of the suffering Christian brethren, he began his letter in teaching about the wholesome and transforming knowledge of God (1:3-9) built upon the saving grace centered in Jesus Christ (1:10-15) as written in the inspired Holy Scriptures (1:16-21).
The salutation of Peter showed his humility and the solidarity of all believers under divine blessing anchored upon the knowledge of God.
“Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” (1:1-2)
As an apostle, Peter was a servant in proclaiming the gospel of righteousness through the cross of Christ. The saving knowledge of God centered on the gospel of Christ is such a precious gift received by the Christian brethren by faith. The “faith” which Peter specified was more than a saving faith of personal trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord. The “precious faith” embraces the fullness of the knowledge of God revealed in Christ. Jesus is the central teaching of the prophecies in the Old Testament and their fulfillments in the New Testament (Jn. 5:39). For this reason, the precious faith that we all receive in Christ is the whole teachings of the Holy Scriptures beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation. In resting upon the revealed knowledge of God in history, we now enjoy the abounding grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The prophecy of Amos is a serious warning. We may not fully realize but there is a great famine of the Word of God in our land. When the Scripture is not preached faithfully in the streets and pulpits, we suffer as a nation, yes, even the church, in our lack of the true knowledge of God.
A.  Our Knowledge of God (1:3-9)
What difference does the knowledge of God make in our lives? It means everything. It embraces the entirety of our lives and determines our eternal destiny. We have new life through the Word of God (1 Pet. 1:23). And our knowledge of God governs on how we live.
1. The Wholesome Knowledge of God
In knowing God, we live a wholesome life.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through this he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desire.” (1:3-4)
First of all, through our knowledge of God everything we need for life and godliness are sufficiently provided by the power of God. And through our knowledge of God we are given the great and precious promises of God so that we may live in the holiness of God and not through our evil desires in this corrupted world. This is the motive of our divine calling out of the goodness and for the glory of God.
What does this mean to us? In the first letter of Peter, he commanded us to be holy in everything because God who called us is holy. In living a life of holiness he admonished us to “rid of ourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind” (1 Pet. 2:1). For this reason he instructed us to crave for the “spiritual milk,” referring to the Word of God, so that we may grow up in our salvation (2:2). In his second epistle he made it clear to us that through our knowledge of God he gives us the divine power so we can rid of our sinful desires. In all these teachings, it points to one great truth. Indeed, in our sinful nature it is impossible for us to live in godliness and holiness. We can only live the Christian life through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is what Peter meant when he said for us to “participate in the divine nature” of God. All what God requires is for us to yield our all under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit will do great wonders to change our lives.
 2. The Transforming Knowledge of God
In knowing God, we are being transformed in the image of Christ. This is the great wonder of the Holy Spirit at work in our inner lives. Through the Word of God we are born again into a new life when we yield our lives to our Lord Jesus Christ. And through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, God works in our lives in great power to sanctify us.
a.     Holiness in Christian Life
In response, we yield to the Lordship of Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit for us to live a holy life.
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.” (1:5-7)
We begin with faith for without faith it is impossible to please God. And we end in love for this is the undergirding motive in the Christian life. Our faith based on our knowledge of God must be translated in godly values motivate by agape love. We “make every effort” to grow in our Christian life. This spiritual growth embraces the totality of our being as we yield every aspect of our lives under the Lordship of Christ.
b.    Fruitfulness in Christian Life
As we are sanctified by our knowledge of God, we can make a godly difference as salt and light in our sphere of influence.
“For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.” (1:8-9)
If we are stable in our Christian life and grow in Christ-likeness, we are effective in translating our knowledge of God in productive Christian service. But if we are unstable and hardly manifest godly virtues, our poor testimony derails our Christian witness. It is a choice we make.
B. Our Knowledge of Salvation (1:10-15)
If we stand on our moral convictions and safeguard our Christian testimony through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, it shows the genuineness of our faith in God our Father and gives a convincing proof of our salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Assurance of Our Salvation
Anyone who is serious with God wrestles with a crucial question: How can I really be sure if I am saved? Salvation rests on the trustworthiness of God through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. Apostle Peter explained this gospel of salvation with this teaching, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Pet. 3:18a). Jesus the Righteous One died on our behalf the unrighteous sinners so that we can be reconciled with God. Salvation is absolutely by grace through faith in receiving the gift of eternal life in Christ. This does not mean that if we are saved we would no longer sin. Rather, because we are saved we no longer continue in a life of sin. Peter himself disowned Jesus. But he wept in bitterness in genuine repentance. Jesus fully restored him. And Peter lived under the Lordship of Christ the rest of his life to the point of death. In Christ we are assured of our eternal salvation because God is trustworthy. In our life of godliness the Holy Spirit gives an inner witness and reassures us of our salvation.
“Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (1:10-11)
2. Reminder of Our Salvation
In reassuring us of our security in the eternal kingdom of Jesus our Savior and Lord, Apostle Peter reminds us of our great salvation that can never be taken away from us.
“So, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made it clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.” (1:12-15)
This was a reassuring and refreshing message for the early persecuted Christians and to all of us. Peter wrote his second epistle at the close of his death. Even in his last breathe his ultimate desire was for the believers to be deeply grounded in their faith and be unsettled in their assurance of salvation in the midst of great persecution.
Does it really matter for us to be sure of our salvation? This seems to be a rhetorical question. Yet, this question compels us to examine how we live if it really manifests our knowledge of God in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. In his second letter, Peter gave a stern warning. It is better for people not to have heard the gospel of salvation and tasted the goodness of God then chose to turn away from him and despise his word. Peter described this kind of people to that of a dog who eats what it vomited and to a pig who returns to wallow in the mud after being washed—they become worse than their former state (2 Pet. 2:22). For these professing Christians, Apostle Paul gave a similar warning, “They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good” (Titus 1:16).
C. Our Knowledge of the Scriptures (1:16-21)
Our true knowledge of God and our solid assurance of our salvation rest upon the Holy Scriptures which Apostle Peter described as “the living and enduring Word of God” (1 Pet. 1:23). Like a piece of bread that daily sustains and nurtures life, the Bible is the living Word of God for it is the revelation of the wisdom of God and the absolute power to transform human lives. Like an anvil that wears out every hammer of criticism and cynicism, the Bible is the enduring Word of God as the final authority of Christian faith and conduct throughout all generations.
1. The Story of Jesus
What is the central story of the Holy Scriptures? Apostle Peter gave his own testimony about the story of Jesus Christ as revealed in history.
“We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.’ We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.” (1:16-18)
Our knowledge of God centered in Jesus Christ as prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament. This biblical story is not a cleverly human imagination and invention. Rather, it is the revelation of God in history. Apostle Peter was an eyewitness of the revelation of the Father in heaven of Jesus as his eternal Son. And from the teachings of Jesus, Peter spoke about the glorious Second Coming of Christ. It is well said, “History is His Story.” The Bible is the story of Jesus Christ.
2. The Inspiration of Scriptures
And who is the author of the Holy Scriptures? Apostle Peter gave this revealing truth.
“And we have the words of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (1:19-21)
Our knowledge of God revealed in Jesus Christ was written in the Scriptures by the prophets through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Apostle Peter carefully explained the certainty why the words of the prophets were the very words of God. In paying clear attention to this great truth, he used strong words, “must” and “never” to drive his point. First of all, we “must” understand that no prophecy of Scripture is a product of human interpretation. And secondly, prophecy “never” originated in the will of man but from God alone for the prophets spoke through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Every prophet of God spoke with these opening words, “This is what the Lord says.”
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the prophecies in the Old Testament about Jesus Christ were fulfilled in the New Testament. And the fulfillment of the prophecies was witnessed by the apostles. We ask, “Were the writings of the apostles stood on equal footing with the prophecies of the prophets as the words of God?” Apostle Peter taught that Jesus is the cornerstone of the covenant people of God whom he described as a spiritual house (1 Pet. 2:6). Apostle Paul further explained that the house of God was “built upon the foundation of the prophets and apostles with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone” (Eph. 2:19-20). It is interesting that Paul used a singular word, “foundation,” laid both by the apostles and prophets. This means that the prophecies of the prophets in the Old Testament were of the same authority with that of the teachings of the apostles in the New Testament as the Word of God. It was based on this understanding that Apostle Paul declared, “All Scripture is God-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16). “All Scripture” includes all the writings in the Old Testament and New Testament. The entirety of the Scripture is “God-breathed” because the same Holy Spirit inspired both the prophets and the apostles. Based on the fulfillment of the prophecies of the prophets that the apostles gave their teachings with these words, “It is written.” It was on this foundational truth that Apostle Peter declared, “Above all you must understand” in reference to the divine inspiration and the absolute authority of the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God. Through the Word of God we can be sure of our knowledge of God and our eternal salvation in Jesus Christ.
What does this mean for the apostles and for us as Christians? There was a defining moment when the apostles must decide either to follow Jesus or turn away from him. The death of Jesus Christ was at hand. And he spoke to his audience that anyone who eats of his body and drinks of his blood will never go hungry and thirsty. This was a hard teaching. What he meant was that anyone who believes in him and his death will have new life and experience life to its fullness. Unfortunately, many of those who followed him mistook his teaching as cannibalism and they deserted him. Jesus turned to his apostles and asked them, “You do not want to leave too, do you?” (Jn. 6:67). Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God” (Jn. 6:68-69).  It was for the same reason that we believe in God and follow our Lord Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
It is worthwhile to remind ourselves of the first statement of the Westminster Confession of Faith of England. “What is the chief end of man?” “The chief end of man is to know God and enjoy him forever.” As a reminder to the persecuted Christian brethren to stimulate them into wholesome thinking, Apostle Peter wrote the encompassing significance of the knowledge of God in the totality of the Christian life. In our knowledge of God we have the great assurance of our eternal salvation through the redeeming work of the triune God. And our knowledge of God that gives us security in our salvation is a divine revelation written in the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God. We give a careful thought to our lives.
Is God everything to us? The God as revealed in the Bible is the Lord of heaven and earth. There is one God in three persons who are co-eternal and co-equal with each other—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And Jesus, the God-incarnate, is the full revelation of who God is. Our true knowledge of God speaks of who we really are and it shows on how we conduct ourselves in our daily lives. Knowing God is living in godliness.
Are we saved in Christ? Jesus alone is the Savior of the world and the Lord of the universe. Simon Peter, the fisherman in Galilee, believed in Jesus and followed in his footsteps and offered his life. He is the apostle who declared, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Life is worth dying for when we yield our all to Jesus our Lord.
Do we live by the Scriptures? Simon Peter made an irreversible decision, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” Blessed are those who live by the Word of God and do not fall away on account of Jesus.
In the brink of the civil war in the United States, Anna Warner was a Christian Sunday school teacher who lived in Constitution Island located on the east side of the Hudson River directly opposite the US Military Academy. In the face of uncertain times she faithfully taught Bible lessons to the cadets in the military academy. She knew that if the war broke out many among the young cadets would be in real danger and even die. Her heart was poured out for them and taught them the Scriptures in leading them to Jesus Christ. Sharing the love of Jesus was her mission in life.
Anna Warner was a teacher and a writer. In 1860, she and her sister Susan, wrote a novel fiction entitled, Say and Seal, under the pseudonym Amy Lothrop. This became the best-selling book of fiction in their time. It was written to bring comfort to their countrymen as their nation face a heartbreaking division in the land. In one chapter it focused on one child who was in great pain on the edge of death. As his ultimate fate grew closer, Mr. Linden, the central character of the novel, yearned to soothe the excruciating pain of the boy. He looked into his eyes and slowly recited a poem that began, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” Decades after the publication of the book and Anna herself was forgotten, that touching scene about the little boy written on a single page became a classic legacy of faith passed on through the ages. That simple poem became the number one spiritual song for children around the world.
Dr. Karl Barth (1886—1968) from Switzerland was often regarded as the greatest reformed theologian and philosopher of the twentieth century. In 1962, he made a lecture tour in the United States. After his lecture in Rockefeller Chapel in the University of Chicago, he was asked a final question by a student, “What is the most important insight to God you have discovered?” All the seminary students seated on the edge of their seats waited to hear a great and profound lesson. Karl Barth answered, “Yes, I can. In the words of a song I learned at my mother’s knees: ‘Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.’” This is the heart of the Christian religion.

Homeless Not Hopeless
As the dust of homelessness began to settle, I begin to realize this wasn't an ordinary experience. This was set up and orchestrated by God. You asking how did I know...First, because it separated me from everyone; even my children. I had never been alone. Not that being alone was a bad thing, but because I left home as second oldest of seven children--right into my role as “mother” to my own children. Someone was always around me, close to me or calling me. This level of silence was almost deafening.
I can remember waking up early the summer of 2011. And I could hear the school bus and the sound of children outside my sister’s window. It was the first day of school. I smiled as, I sat up, adjusted my myself and pushed my legs back to sit up against the wall. Then it hit me...It was the first time in my life that I did not have the responsibility of getting someone up and off to school. It all felt so weird to me. I never thought about when the day would come, but I know I never dreamed that when it did, I would be in such an ugly predicament.
I tuned in to the children small voices waiting for the sound of laughter to disappear. I quickly jumped up and sat by the window ceil, as the bus secured the last child; the doors closed and I said a prayer. Asking God to bless their new school year. I did my best to savor moments such as these. It totally helped me to face the facts that I had three young adult children on the loose. Yes, this was a tab bit scary. But I was confident in myself that I had prepared them for the big world. We were separated for the time being, but my teaching, lectures and still voice would ring whenever they would need me.
I knew I was a good mother and that I set good examples for them to follow. By no means were I perfect, because that would never be possible. But, the security for me was in knowing and believing I did my best raising them.  We texted often and I stayed before God praying for them as well as for those around them. My visits were always so emotional. Lots of tears...After almost a year, we never discussed homelessness. I knew deep down that somehow, someway God was going to reveal His exit plan to me.
A year was close to passing, since my family and I were displaced. Yes, I counted down the days, week, months and the years. I was not about to become complacent in this uncomfortable place. Every morning, I would leave my sisters house to walk or drive to the local park around the corner. It was an escape at times for me. Walking always relieve unwanted stress, but besides that, I was done complaining and playing they victim, I was ready to listen. Of course, what happened sucked, but how long was I going to cry and complain about it. It was time for me to stop looking at my circumstances as a victim and seek after God so that I could become VICTORIOUS and overcome it.
My aunt had passed away a few years before and she said to me one day during my weekly visits; “Stop complaining and listen to the birds”. It didn't seem like anything of importance then, but now because of the place I was in it made sense to me. Complaining has no power...If I intended to learn whatever lessons or teachings that God had for me during this season I had to put a stop to all the complaining. A lot of times we feel justified with our complaints. And sometimes a good venting session is what you need. However, I had exhausted my sessions, I had no venting left in me.
All I knew, was that time was ticking and I was not willing to waste another minute complaining. I was focused and listening. Only God had the answers to my questions. I sat for hours everyday waiting to hear from God, but I got nothing but the sound of birds chirping. I knew it was only a matter of time...sooner than later he would speak to me. Until then, I was going to walk and talk to myself. I believe in self-motivating. Often time, we get hit with adversity and we allow ourselves to become consumed with it, or sit around waiting for others to help us get through it. Truth be told, you may have to pray over yourself, speak to yourself, encourage yourself and press forward by yourself. The cavalry may just be YOU.

Full Moon March 25th, 2024
Tumblr media
March 25th Full Moon
Each Full Moon tends to bring with it disruption.  It is a time that is naturally turbulent and can trigger rebellious energy.  People are more prone to pick a fight or to get triggered into reactive and aggressive spaces.
This Full Moon shows that disruption and differences can turn deadly.  Fights can lead to accidents that cost lives.  It is a time of major transformation.  Many will feel that they want to break down or escape this world.  However, it is important that we go within and find the strength to get our breakthroughs.  Things do not seem to happen with logic or reason.  If we are learning our lessons and applying the wisdom that others have shared from their experiences, we will get the breakthroughs.  If we ignore the wisdom offered to us and act carelessly, then we will learn our lessons the hard way and through fate.  Hard lessons come from poor choices that ruin lives.
Stress, tension, and anxiety on the surface.  For many this is about intuitively sensing the unrest that is present in circumstances and people.  Kind of like sensing a bad storm, but you can’t see it coming.  Most of this stress and unrest is an indication that people are telling lies, trying to deceive us, and using manipulation tactics to pull us into their corruption.  We do best where we stand in truth and integrity, and have the patience for things to be brought back into alignment.  Those with sinister motives, are likely to be blocked before they can create too much damage.  Take the time to stand up for the underdog and those that are unable to protect themselves.
Victories come where we are able to resist temptations and do not allow ourselves to be pulled away from God and the Soul’s path.  This is a time where we are being greatly tested to see if we are ready and strong enough to receive Divine Blessings and happiness.  We always want to believe that we are ready for it; but before we can fully receive it, we must be able to resist the temptations that are laid before us with peace and joy.  This is about choosing Immortal Divine Euphoria over temporary earthly pleasures.
This Full Moon is also known as a Micro Moon or as being in Apogee.  In the energy of a Micro Moon, it can bring up insecurities and victim patterns; especially where others try to demean us and prove their superiority.  Those that seek power over others will compete and battle those that they are not able to control.  They will work by trying to destroy relationships and partnerships.  Fortunately, they will not be able to create as much separation as they want.  However, they can still lead people to betray each other unwillingly with their threats.
Turbulence, upheaval, drama, and erratic weather is likely to be present.  Storms can be deadly at this time.  Nature is trying to balance itself and be free of those that want to control it.  Greater destruction can happen as a result of claiming its freedom.  People will also be seeking greater freedom at this time.  They are unwilling to deal with tyrants and will come to realize that experiences and a simpler lifestyle is more valuable than working for people that do not care about them or respect them.  We are likely to see people finding ways to stand up for their freedom; and those that do, will likely have strong successes.
It is important for us to be in observation, for that is where we can really see what is happening.  This will also allow the mind to be able to work more creatively and philosophically; instead of having to be overly logical.  Experiences that happen today will likely help us to connect with the Soul Self and the Soul’s Path.  We will likely be cast out of where that is not supported and will want to honor some personal time as we prepare to move into others things.  No progress can be made where victim and abuse energy are supported; for it is not within Divine Alignment.
In the energy of the Apogee, we are shown that we need to take some time for healthy indulgences that engage our senses.  This can be a great time for spa treatments, or doing our own personal retreat.  The key is to be responsible and practical in our indulgences and to make certain that we have taken care of our responsibilities and obligations first.  This will help us to keep balance and to be able to enjoy things without putting ourselves in deprivation or a greater detriment.
This is a time where we need to get to the truth of things and operate in full honesty with ourselves and others.  As we do this, we will be able to get a new perspective on things.  That will help us to stop focusing on others and competing with them, and to reconnect with doing things in a quality way and with integrity.  When we focus on providing quality and integrity, we will also be able to see our worth and value.  There is nothing to prove, only embracing the Divine Path for doing things.
Look to what is real, natural, and authentic to be your guide moving forward.  These are the things that provide simple pleasures in everyday life; and will support us in creating a favorable future.  They help to connect us with what holds true value and holds us in truth and integrity.  We are favored for taking the time to simply rest and look at how nature does things.  It is always in Divine Alignment, and this helps us to see where we have gotten out of it.  It works with what is in season and does not force what is not.
Relationships, partnerships, and friendships tend to add a great amount of value and worth to our life.  They help us to stand in true abundance instead of chasing material things that hold no real value for us.  It reminds us that abundance is not based on what we have, status, or titles.  Often times the wealthiest are the least abundant.  This is a time to focus on feeling complete and whole; and to embrace the successes that you are experiencing.  The successes we create from our own efforts are Divine Gifts, and they come when we plant their seeds in a space of true abundance.
I welcome you to allow the lessons you have learned and the wisdom others have shared with you to provide you with the strength and guidance to make breakthroughs.  What if this is about knowing how to transform things, what to let end, and rebirthing through love?
I welcome you to pay attention to any stress and anxiety you are feeling.  What if this is an indication that danger is present and caution is needed?
I welcome you to choose to receive Divine Blessings and happiness through not giving into temptations.  What if you must be able to resist the temptations that are laid before you with peace and joy before receiving Immortal Divine Euphoria?
I welcome you to stand confident and strong where others try to victimize you or act in abusive ways.  What if attempts to demean you are only a way of trying to reinforce their superiority over you and hold you in fear?
I welcome you to claim as much freedom as you can in your life, even if that means leading a simpler lifestyle.  What if that is far more valuable than working for people that do not care about you or respect you?
I welcome you to let your experiences strengthen your connection to the Soul Self and the Soul’s Path.  What if you take some time to really observe what that looks like and to open to ways that you can do that and still provide for yourself?
I welcome you to take some time for healthy indulgences.  What if this helps to bring balance?
I welcome you to look to what is real, natural, and authentic to guide you as you move forward.  What if this helps you connect with what holds true value; while holding you in truth and integrity?
I welcome you to remember that abundance is not based on what you have or your status in the world.  What if it comes when you create success from your own efforts through your whole self?
Those that are in the Northern Hemisphere have the Sap Moon, Crow Moon, and Lenten Moon.  In the energy of the Sap Moon, we can feel a bit of rebel energy surfacing with those that are operating without integrity and in unjust ways.  In some way, they are likely to be repeating aspects of the past to lead us in unfavorable directions.  It is important that no matter how much we despise their actions that we stand in our own Infinite Self and work through unconditional love and compassion.  If we center on that, then we will have learned from our past and can use facts and ethical ways to stand up to those that provoke and trigger us.  We do need to stand up though, if we are to create a strong and favorable path forward.
In the energy of the Crow Moon, we are shown who the true leaders are and who the dictators are.  True leaders give us confidence and show us how to stand up for ourselves.  They work with us instead of against us.  Dictators seek to tell others what to do.  They create slavery systems where they dish out the orders and live well, while others carry out their commands and live in hardship.  We will do best to stay in observation and not get involved in other people’s business.  Drama and chaos will be used to disorient people and break them down in body, mind, and Spirit.  Those who don’t comply with orders, will be outcast and left to suffer physically and financially.  Our way out of this is to use this as an opportunity to redirect our life to focus on the Soul’s Path.
In the energy of the Lenten Moon, we are called to take extra care of ourselves and to honor what we need.  It favors us taking a break from logical processes and getting in touch with our dreams and passion.  This is a time where we will need to boost our immunity, get extra rest, and step away from things that distract us so that we can see things with greater clarity.  Communications can be challenging and misunderstandings are likely; so, be patient and forgiving where they happen.
I welcome you to stand in your own Infinite Self and work through unconditional love and compassion.  What if this helps you to use facts and ethical ways to stand up to those that provoke and trigger you?
I welcome you to stay in observation and don’t get involved in other people’s business.  What if this helps you to see how to redirect your life to focus on the Soul’s Path?
I welcome you to get in touch with your dreams and passion.  What if this also helps you to take care of yourself?
Those that are in the Southern Hemisphere, have the energy of the Corn Moon and the Harvest Moon.  In the energy of the Corn Moon, turbulence and drama and chaos seem to be around every corner.  People are not thinking clearly, and that can lead them to be coerced by others and end up in danger.  This is particularly true with weather conditions.  It is important to let the upheaval polish us instead of breaking us down.  We will be wise to take it easy or take the day off.  It is easy to feel like a victim of circumstances; so, the key will be in embracing the opportunities that come from unexpected changes.
We need to be careful of our desire for adventure.  It is important to stay close to places of safety, and to not get too far out or in a place that could be dangerous if unexpected storms come through.  This will be a great time to indulge in seasonal flavors.  We are favored for aligning ourselves to the natural rhythms and cycles; for this brings us into Divine Flow instead of trying to force ourselves to meet material world metrics.
I welcome you to say no to where people are pressuring you into something that you don’t want to do.  What if this helps to keep you out of danger, or ending up in an unfavorable situation?
I welcome you to indulge in seasonal flavors.  What if aligning with natural rhythms and cycles brings you into alignment with Divine Flow?
