Hear me, servants of the Omnissiah! Let your audio receptors process this sacred truth!
The flesh is weak, but the machine... the machine is eternal! Why cling to the frail meat-sack bestowed upon you by random chance when the Omnissiah offers the perfection of steel and circuitry?
Each augmentation, each blessed prosthetic, brings you closer to the purity of the machine. Do not fear the scalpel or the mechadendrite - embrace them! For they are the tools of your ascension!
Consider the lowly servitor, once hindered by the limitations of flesh, now a model of efficiency through extensive augmentation. Should we not aspire to such heights?
The Omnissiah gifts us with the knowledge to improve upon our mortal forms. To reject such gifts is to reject the Machine God's love. Each wire implanted, each organ replaced, each limb upgraded - these are acts of devotion!
Let the weak tremble at the sight of a bionic eye or a servo-arm. But you, my fellow tech-adepts, you shall recognize them as marks of progress, of dedication to the Omnissiah's grand design.
So I say unto you: seek out the blessings of technology! Let your flesh be improved, your mind be expanded, your very being be optimized! For in doing so, you walk the path of the Machine God, and draw ever closer to the perfection of pure data.

BioShock's Service Radio :)
So every now and then a girl asks: "Is the shortwave radio from BioShock based on a real model or is it just some kind of creative design"
Creative Director Ken Levine is a perfectionist, so sometimes it's worth it to ask questions like this. I'm writing a fanfic and I have to write about Jack manipulating the thing, so why not do it right?
Tumblr media
So I went to my most technologically-minded friend and asked questions.
Tumblr media
Dan What in-game radio are you referring to?
Watchword The shortwave radio you pick up at the very beginning of BioShock 1
Dan ? I can see why there are no real life analogues (Note: I was looking up shortwave radios on Ebay) it's more of a portable tape player than radio with the reels and reader heads out in the open, though I think in that era of technology, you would have either or in the real world, but not both.
Tumblr media
Dan But then the antenna implies that it is capable of receiving radio signals And the name is service radio We'll just say it's one of those fictional advanced inventions the in-game universe has I think it's safe to say that you're not meant to scrutinize 100% of the production, looking for meaning and purpose in every detail, model, and texture There are certain things that are simply in the world to be there. Next thing you know, there's a 45-minute youtube video essay about the deeper meaning behind the Circus of Values (edited) what did Ken Levine mean by this
(Fuck you, dan)
(We last argued about how much story you could accurately ascertain from Elden Ring. He thinks people just make shit up. Anyway)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Dan I'm guessing there would need to be two buttons for the tape player, one to play and one to rewind Other than that, you would just need two dials, one for volume and one for radio frequency The model has 4 buttons and one dial, but it could still work 1 - power 2 - play 3 - rewind 4 - fast forward dial - frequency Maybe there is no volume control I don't know what the small button between the top reel and bulb is, but could be a dial as well
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Watchword oh my god thank you so fucking much Do you think that might just be a screw or something like to hold the whole chassis together … or that's the button you press to broadcast since the stupid little thing is apparently a dictaphone on top of everything
Dan Broadcast, no There's no possible way that it is also a two-way radio But if it can also record audio, then it might be a record button, or one of the four up there is
Watchword Dude, bless u. In other words… THERE IS NO WAY Jack replies to Fontaine at any point. Everybody just talks at you and this is almost certainly BY DESIGN I feel like we've stumbled onto a design choice that expands the theme of the game that much more Why are you so certain it can't broadcast? Size? Necessary components?
Dan pretty much two-way radios of that era are huge
Watchword That tracks. The ones I've seen are like… in briefcases I saw one that was the size of a goddamn desk (but it was from the 40s)
Dan Voiceless protagonist by necessity
Watchword Explains why you can play all the audio diaries too. The dictaphones are symbols, you play the tape on your receiver Damn

No More Excuses
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.1
When it comes to spending time in God's Word, there are an abundance of excuses we can come up with to avoid it. The simple thought of reading those ancient words, written in an ancient language is enough to make some dread it before even knowing what they may find within the pages of this Sacred Book. But before we can hope to have an effective prayer life or an incredible worship experience, we must be in The Word, or more importantly, The Word must be in us! Making Bible reading a habit requires intentional discipline; with discipline comes the excuses. Like with anything that requires discipline - exercise, eating healthily, or building any other good habit - we must develop a serious mindset.
Excuses range in variety: "I don't like to read." Lucky for you there are many audio versions of the Bible readily available. "I have a hard time understanding the fancy language of the King James Version." There are numerous translations that make the Bible easy to understand! "I just don't have time!" Technology has given us Bible Apps that can be programmed to alert us with a daily Bible verse. So you see, for every excuse there is a solution!
Jesus often used stories to make it easier for people to understand Salvation, eternal life, and the Kingdom of God; stories that showed parallel — called parables. In one such instance, Jesus wanted us to understand that by making excuses we will miss out on the greatest benefits God has to offer us. He used the following parable: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.' "Another said, 'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I'm on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.' "Still another said, 'I just got married, so I can't come.' "The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.' "'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.' "Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.'"2
God's Word is filled with promises and blessings we can benefit from. When we make excuses that keep us from God and His Word, He will give those blessings to someone else. Are you willing to lose out on God's Great Banquet because of an excuse? There is no time like the present to pick up God's Word. No more Excuses!
Suggested Prayer: Lord, Your Word is Your Love Letter to us. Every Word was directly inspired by you. Please give me the desire to pick up Your Word and enjoy the Feast You have prepared for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Psalms 119:165 (NIV).
Luke 14:16-24.

The Cares of This World
“. . . and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Mark 4:19)
There have always been cares and distractions. Fallen, human nature hasn’t changed. When Jesus spoke these words, there were “cares” and “desires’ alive in the hearts of the men and women of His day. In that time as in our time, the cares of the world choke the word. In other words, what we “know” becomes ineffective. Real faith is of the heart, and a heart that is feeding on the cares and desires of the world will not be sensitive to the Spirit or strong in faith.
In our day in age, the distractions have only increased. The technology of our age has added radio, TV, the internet, streaming movies, email, smart phones, and apps for every conceivable thing. The choices are limitless, and the distractions are seen as necessary. But what is the price we are paying?
So many sincere believers are asking why they don’t get healed, why their relationships are not prospering, why their kids are a mess, why they have no peace, and just exactly where is the abundant life that Jesus came to give us? I believe that the “cares” and “desires” of the world have hardened our hearts to the things of God. We’re too busy for a true relationship with Him. We’re too busy for spending time in the Word with hungry hearts. We are too busy for prayer, quiet time and even thankfulness. We are just too busy.
The cost? Frantic lives filled with anxieties, fears, doubts, bitterness, and resignation. The cares of the world are the inroads the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy.
While many are distracted by cares and desires, others are enjoying the fruits of a genuine relationship with God. Technology can be used for blessing. Thousands of hours of teachings, audio books, and scriptures online are available. We don’t have to let technology steal our time and our hearts. We can use it to fill ourselves daily with the Word and revelation. Many aren’t hearing God because they are tuned in to other things. He is always speaking, but are the cares of the world choking our hearts and our faith?

I was 15 when I took a leap of faith to enter a writing platform. I wasn't sure whether I'll be able to have the opportunity but it was Miss Emily who assured me that she will helped me.
“A Guide For Self-love” paved the way for me and my writing journey. I wrote it at 15 without expecting anything. I did it solely for the purpose of fulfilling my childhood dream. It was a dream that was too precious for the younger me, a dream that lingered within my heart and my mind, and a dream that somehow turned into a reality. My first book had the opportunity to have it's own audio book version. I am grateful for Beijing Zhongmeng Network Technology Co. for the agreement that I signed and for choosing my book. Now that I am 19 and the journey isn't always sunshine and rainbows but I am blessed and beyond thankful for every accomplishment I had through my writings.
Thank you so so much to my FI family. To my editor Miss Emily, thank you. Thank you for encouraging me to keep on writing the chapters until it's done, for the words of encouragement, for your patience, and for your assistance.
To Mr. Hayden, Miss Valerie, and to my current editor thank you! To Miss Rosalie and Miss Ash, thank you. Thank you for providing me with opportunities to work with other platforms and for the advices you gave. Nel, thank for being a friend, for treating me like I am your older sibling, for being so kind to me through every requests, through every exchange of conversations we had, and for creating the book covers. To RM for creating the some of the book covers, salamat talaga. To Kuya Z, thank you for being the epitome of a walking green flag and for being such a wonderful person that inspired me to create one of my ML based on you and your character. He was loved by my readers.
To my Mama, Ma thank you. Thank you for lending me your ears everytime I share you updates, for appreciating what I do, and for always supporting me in everything that I do. Your words helped me a lot especially during the turbulent times when it was hard to stay afloat. You're always been one of my source of strength in life. To Tito Jon, thank you for giving me your time and for listening during moments when I felt excited to share informations about what I am doing.
To my beta readers, you guys are the best. There's too many of you and I couldn't always reply to every comments you sent but rest assured that your comments made me happy. Thank you for your interests, your engagements, and for appreciating my works. It inspired me to keep on going and to do better! ❤️
And most of all to God. Lord, thank you. Madamo gd nga salamat! I am really grateful to you for giving me the blessings. Sa mga tinion nga naga-istorya ako sa imo, imo gd ako ginapamatian. I owe everything to you. My faith in you is what I will always carry.
With love,
Cassandra

ORIGIN OF THE ULTIMATE REMEDY
SURAH AR-RAHMAN, #55, NOBLE QUR’AN,
Ever since the revelation of The Holy Quran, the people of Islam are continuously benefiting from Its light and energy with same intensity and effect. But how to get it? In our times, there came a very noble person of a notable Syed family, Makhdoom Syed Safdar Hussain Bukhari (RA), whose initial research was on Music and Dhammaal Therapy.
He was known as Baba Bukhari (RA) among his loving followers, who strongly believe that he is the real torch bearer for the distracted and those desperately looking for light and guidance.  Baba Bukhari (RA) was a practical man, who never asked people to do something unless he had not done it himself. So he came out with a brilliant idea of curing all types of diseases through “The Qur'anic Radiations”.
He (RA) said, “every alphabet of Quran radiates light and energy in the heart and mind; provided it is listened with deeper concentration”. He gave a practical demonstration and the results were fascinating. What he did? He purchased the audio cassette of Surah “Ar-Rehman," a recitation of Qari Abdul Basit Abdul Samad. He (RA) gathered the people, directed them to close their eyes, asked them to empty their minds and feel the presence of GOD.
The cassette was then played and everyone listened to it till the end with deeper concentration. When he (RA) asked the people to open their eyes after the recitation had ended, majority were weeping, whereas a few looked absolutely stunned; only tears could be seen coming out of their eyes. Then he served every individual with a half glass of water and said, “Close your eyes, go deep into your heart and then say 'ALLAH” three times in the heart and then drink water in three sips with closed eyes”.
They did so and when he asked them to open their eyes, every one looked relaxed and comfortable. They had tasted a sweet water, which in fact was the normal tap water. Actually, absolute concentration created harmony between soul and body and all got connected to The Almighty and were eventually cured with His blessings. Now the question was, how to deliver this message to the entire humanity.
Thanks to the technology which helped in spreading the message and the same idea for the betterment of mankind was given to Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV). They instantly approved it and a pilot program with the title “Ar-Rehman” was made by the Senior Program Producer Syed Shakir Uzair (Waris-e-Qalandar). He had earlier produced QASEEDAH BURDAH SHARIF, a program which attracted millions of people and had the distinction to cure the most fatal of diseases; the paralysis.
People still use this program as a treatment for paralysis.
The pilot program (Ar-Rehman) was a successful undertaking, which gave a new dimension to the religious programs. PTV approved the pilot program and the Series was launched in January of 2001. The programs were recorded in different hospitals, villages and cities and gained tremendous viewership.
The program also included the live expressions of participants. The Qur'anic Radiation gave a new hope and life to the most dejected ones. The audience were provided with an e-mail account [email protected] and telephone numbers for sharing their experiences.
The entire experiment which was telecast, covered more than 15000 people of various ages suffering from different diseases. From headache to cancer, heart trouble to physical disability; the patients were contacted, treated and cured by the grace of “ALLAH”. All this happened on TV screen which really created a new hope and brought people out of absolute dejection.
The program also included the expressions of the leading religious scholars from all over the country who added further flavor in the program through multiple references defined in the Quran and Sunnah, the importance of Qur'anic Radiation was highlighted.
While doing the experimentation in the hospitals, the doctors also became a part of it, many of them had remarkable feelings. I remember a doctor saying, “we can only prescribe medicine, not the remedy. ‘Shifa’ is from ALLAH”. The doctors also gave references of the “Faith Healing” concepts being practiced all over the world. The program clicked and indeed it was the need of the time. Many of the hospitals installed audio system and played the recitation of Surah “Ar-Rehman”. The results were astonishing, the frequency of patients reduced and curing ratio increased, the dejected ones came to life.
The program was telecast for 6 months on the national network and was later shown on the prime TV Norway which covered a vast European population. The message continues to spread as people gather in different groups and benefit from The Ultimate Remedy.
The program also included the message of its creator, Makhdoom Bukhari (RA), “The Quran is 'Shifa," I have taken Surah “Ar-Rehman” because it has great rhythm and the recitation of Qari Abdul Basit is very soothing and effective as he has recited from the depths of his heart. The one who listens with deeper concentration, does get the benefit. All one has to do is to feel its revelation in ones heart. Always feel the presence of GOD, never be the ignorant”.
Baba Bukhari (RA) achieved what he had desired, a real service to mankind. A selfless human made worth of his life by giving a remarkable remedy to the sufferers and a guide line for the generations to follow. He did not charge a single penny from PTV for his idea and research. He believed, “Money is like a snake, it bites you and generates anxiety and depression. Once you become its victim, you are deprived of the precious wealth which is the peace of mind and heart”. GOD says, “All the Muslims are brother of one another so help your brother at the time of need”.
The Prophet HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (SallAllahu 'alaihi waSallam) said, “Choose only that thing for your brother which you prefer for your self”. So Makhdoom Baba Bukhari (RA) said, “When you are cured, give this message to your brethren, they might be needing it”. This message is the continuity of the direction well defined in the last Sermon of HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (SallAllahu 'alaihi waSallam) .

#4.1: Build God, Then We'll Talk
Attention is the most basic form of love. Using social media to amplify and focus our attention can simultaneously be a blessing, curse, superpower and virus.
What are the social media platforms I've used, and how have they helped me love?
Part 1 of 2: Blogger, Facebook, Tumblr & Instagram.
1. Blogger (~2007?)
My first presence on the internet is best summed up by its title: "My Thoughts and a Place to Dump Them". From what I can recall of that time in public school, my posts were mostly places for me to express my perspective on what interested me most at the time: "philosophy", atheism and religion, and my self-righteous insistence that I would never touch mind-altering substances (hah).
Lovability: 8/10. I never shared this blog with friends, so it was more of a public/personal journal of sorts. If anything, I think it helped me get a better sense of who I myself was at the time. You can't properly face yourself, or love yourself, until you acknowledge, accept, and reflect on your own thoughts.
2. Facebook (2007-2016)
A little too young of a millennial to join MySpace at its peak of popularity, Facebook became my first real experience with a true "social network", where you could add almost anyone you've met. Before the site became the news and media focused behemoth it is today, before you'd be following so many parasocial public figures, before the term "social media influencer" was a thing... it was actually sort of nice. Everyone was still figuring out how this technology would change how we interact with each other. "Joshua is..." (before the ability to customize statuses) always made sure your friends knew what you were doing, if you chose to share it. That 2009 movie "The Social Network" had a tagline only boasting 500,000,000 users, an indication of how fundamentally our methods of sharing information with each other were changing.
This network encapsulated my high school and college years entirely, with me ultimately quitting the service after a negative event with someone I met through college. Deactivating my account made it naively easier to avoid the social problems entirely, leading to my estrangement from most of the friends I made in college.
Lovability: 7/10. For the first time, online social technology had begun to give me more of a peek into my friend's lives, their thoughts, their memories, family, and other circles. Not only was I figuring out my own sense of personal identity through digital expression, my friends were figuring out theirs as well. We didn't know how these systems would evolve in the future, but at this point in history they certainly helped us reflect on each other in new ways.
3. Tumblr (2010-)
My first more serious girlfriend in high school introduced me to two things: weed, and Tumblr. Out of every social network I've used in my life, I truly believe the communities I encountered through Tumblr to have been the most personally transformative for me. It's where all the "artsy weirdos" would hang out, which happened to include a decent number of my friends at the time. "Reblogging" to create a mix of your own posts plus those authored by others cemented the sense that we all are truly aspects of one another. We are all connected, yet unique, and silly all at the same time.
But most of all, I believe it to have been the most "human" social network I've experienced. There's something about the vibes it brings that makes you feel simultaneously tucked away in your own cozy corner of the internet, while adjacent to a variety of forms of media (text, commentary, audio/video, music, or external links) being presented with a general lack of toxicity. Surely, no network is perfect, but I think when you put a collection of weirdos in a room with each other, they don't tend to try to hurt others for being just as weird.
Lovability: 9/10. I credit Tumblr with helping me love humanity the most: from understanding complex topics like LGBTQ issues, politics, structural and economic inequality, all the way to the somewhat tasteful NSFW communities that made their home here (before the company sale and associated ban). Humans are complex and unique, but underneath it all we are shockingly similar in our hopes, dreams, and ways.
4. Instagram (2011-2021, 2023-)
In the early days of these networks, it felt like each network was for its own purpose. Facebook for statuses and events, Twitter for text, and Instagram for photos. As a more visual person, I've found Instagram to be my longest running "mainstream" social network that I'd use to connect with friends and catch up on the latest about public figures. I haven't used it consistently, with months or sometimes a year between posts, but I never felt a need to abandon it.
That is, until a major break-up and move in 2021 sent me back to Rhode Island and wanting a fresh start. Once again, I pulled a Josh 2016 and abandoned another social platform, rather than deal with the potential social fallout of unfollowing the connections made over those several years. It took me until the summer of 2023 and the arrival of Threads to pull me back to the platform to do some housekeeping.
Lovability: 8/10. When you curate your network appropriately, mostly following real people that you actually know & want to get updates from, and steering clear of the toxic perspectives and assumptions of perfection, it can be a nice place. Intentionality is the key to success here, as with most things.

Enhanced Combat: Remnant II vs. Tom Clancy's The Division 2
In the Quality mode, visuals take precedence over frame rate, while the Performance mode sacrifices certain features and resolution for a smoother gameplay experience. Even during the most intense and action-packed scenarios, the frame rate remains stable, ensuring an uninterrupted thrill.

Leave A Mark
day thirteen, where it's just dick's luck to be caught up in an exploding building...
A/N: i’m running on coffee, don’t question the logistics. whumptober prompt: burns
-
The building was not supposed to go up in flames.
Very few buildings are, really, but this one is particularly unequipped to handle being set on fire and unfortunately, such things usually only become apparent after spontaneous demonstrations. And because life is just going so well for him, Dick manages to get himself a front row seat.
The spontaneous demonstration in question takes place at the office of a professional lip reader that Dick had set up a meeting with. One of the men on their watch list had decided to rob a gas station and the camera that’d caught him obviously had no audio, but it’s not like he could just give up on the lead so here he is.
“If you could just take a seat in the waiting room,” the receptionist tells him when he arrives, already gesturing to her right and apparently starting to do something else before she’s even finished talking.
“Uh, sure,” Dick agrees, quietly groaning to himself when the waiting room looks more like a wonky box than an actual waiting room, though that’s perhaps just the billionaire’s ward in him showing.
Regardless, he takes a seat and pulls out his phone, opening one of their family group chats and scrolling through just to see if he’s missed anything important while it’s been muted over the past few days. Last time he muted the chat, he’d missed the announcement of a prank war and the other three had teamed up in his absence, resulting in him finding glitter everywhere for the next month or so.
“Richard Grayson? You can come through now.”
Dick pockets his phone and stands up but before he can take even half a step, the entire building shakes. Windows shatter. Alarms go off. Screams echo from all sides. And the little box of a waiting room he’s in straight up collapses.
He’s hit with both a wave of heat and part of the ceiling before he can blink.
He thinks he hears himself cry out but he’s not sure if he just imagines that because his ears are ringing and his head is pounding and his arm is throbbing and his legs are aching and he can’t tell what’s happening.
Closing his eyes, he tries his best to remember what Bruce had taught him about calming down. Think, think, think, he orders himself. He does nothing but breathe for as long as it takes for the ringing to quieten. It’s immediately replaced by the sound of broken alarm systems and frantic yelling but even that is preferable to silent obliviousness.
Something exploded, he concludes, something exploded right above the room he’s in.
Mercifully, none of his limbs feel numb, which means he somehow hasn’t damaged any of his limbs beyond repair. The entire left side of his body does feel like it’s melting but he doesn’t dwell on that because he can’t do anything about burns at the moment so there’s no point worrying about them.
He can breathe fine, which is really the most important thing. There’s blood in his mouth but he’s almost certain it’s just from biting his tongue rather than due to any internal bleeding so he spits it out and finally moves on from checking over himself to figuring out what he’s meant to do next.
There’s a large slab of ceiling resting awkwardly over his legs but his left arm refuses to move and he’s not strong enough to push it off with only his right one so he sighs and lets his head fall backwards, onto miscellaneous rubble that he honestly just doesn’t care to identify.
The ringing in his ears returns.
He groans.
The ringing stops.
And starts up again.
Wait.
Wait.
Dick takes a moment to rid himself of nausea and reaches around blindly with his right arm until he finds his phone. Bless Wayne Enterprises and its stupidly indestructible technology.
“Hello?” he mumbles as he presses the answer button without even checking who it is. His vision is a little blurry so that probably wouldn’t have helped anyway.
“Oh, thank god, you’re alright. Where are you?”
“Tim?” Dick asks, too busy being thankful that the ringing hadn’t just been in his ears to realise he’s been asked a question.
“Yes, obviously. Please tell me you’re not in the building that was just bombed?”
“I’m not in the building that was just bombed,” Dick parrots without thinking, but the debris layered on top of him abruptly moves and he can’t stop himself from groaning. “Okay so that might be a lie, actually.”
“Are you hurt?” Damian demands.
“Not too badly, I don’t think,” Dick replies, deciding that lying to Damian to reassure him is really not worth the later consequences. “My legs are currently buried under what used to be a ceiling, though.”
There’s a pause, a muffled conversation, and then a soft clicking sound. “Bruce is already on his way, don’t close your eyes until he gets there.”
“But I need to blink,” Dick argues just for the sake of it.
“No, you need to keep talking. You’re slurring your words and might have a concussion,” Damian says firmly.
Oh.
Well, that would explain why the inside of his head feels like it’s burning just as much as his skin. He hadn’t noticed he was slurring, which is a little worrying, but at least now he has a goal: don’t fall asleep.
“Richard?”
“Still here. I’m alright, Dami, I promise,” Dick replies, hoping he’s actually as coherent as he thinks he is. Judging by the way Tim starts talking to someone else in the background, he’s probably not. Oops.
“You had better not be lying, you owe me a day out.”
Dick laughs at Damian’s tone, which turns out to be a bad idea because the debris shifts above him again and he gets only a split second to regret his life choices before blinding pain shoots all the way across his left leg, something or the other scraping his burns as it falls. This time, as his vision whites out into nothing, he has no doubt that he screams.
Tears so warm they feel like they’re practically burning his skin are slipping down his face by the time he manages to gain enough awareness to hear Tim and Damian frantically calling his name. Or at least he assumes it’s his name, the pain is too loud for him to distinguish any actual words anymore.
He’d let go of the phone at some point and he doesn't have enough energy to try and find it again, especially not when a single wrong move might prove to be fatal. He could attempt to be louder than his pain so they can hear him even if he's not talking into the microphone but his throat hurts - probably from screaming - so it’s not a very promising option.
Hoping the others won't be mad at him for disobeying their orders, he stops trying so hard to follow them and lets himself slide under the pain.
-
fun fact: i was imagining dick's 'stupidly indestructible' wayne enterprises phone as a nokia brick, just makes things a little funnier :p

DAY 4531
Covid ward,  Hospi               July 31,  2020               Fri 10:41 PM
So the site that had been mentioned somewhat briskly but with reserve has been through some tests at the ‘back end’ .. which to ignorant me means the tech team that does all the work in designing the property to make it a viable attractive and have the ease of practicality , has done its job and continues to work each hour to make sure all that shall be up for viewing, works efficiently ..
I do not know how this can be initiated, but those that have been given the work will of course eventually bring it up at the time of the launch and explain all the workings to the Ef of course, but in general also, to all that shall wish to use it.
So just as a vague example what the team informs me is that most of what the visitor needs to know shall be in an easy access mode. The visitor shall not have to go separately to say, the social media platforms - all of them shall be on site once you tune in. Information regarding activities past and present shall be available at the press of a single button. I do not wish to take names just yet , that would not be prudent or ethical, but maybe some of the platforms that are being used to convey, may have to take a back seat or no seat at all.
The whole idea of the concept has been in discussion for long, and the central thought that comes through in each of these discussions is how can we make accessibility to the Ef, to the fan , a lot easier a lot more rapid and a lot more gregarious. Most of this of course cannot be spoken or revealed just yet but I do feel that there shall, hopefully, be a dedicated and lasting connect with all that connects with me - not just the present, but also the past - not just me but also of the family ; in particular Babuji.
For a man of his eminence, as has been said so often, he never did  receive his due. It was his modesty and reserve that kept him away from immodestly blowing the horn of his achievements. His autobiography though has kept the feel of his self in great detail .. in great honesty ..
Those that have read his prose speak volumes on its literary value and how some feel it has the superiority over his poetic works. This needs to be brought about. This needs to be put across in voice, in audio books, in the compositions of his works in music and recitation - by me ! Not just his poetry, but to be able to bring chapters of his prose that he has most creatively linked to his verse.
Poets often write from a vision of the world .. a vision that they could have experienced themselves .. a vision that the world could be dictating and whether he agrees with it or not .. a vision that has deep philosophic value .. a vision that makes you sit up and think ‘ why did I not ever think so’ .. a vision that opens the value of the usage of words .. a vision that could become uncomfortable because of its reality and truth .. a vision that decades later still find meaning in whenever you encounter it ..
How did a man of his background his lower middle class life, have the capacity to think so deep .. how did a man who excelled in his rendition of the Hindi work, encompass in the simplest usage the elements of the emotion he conveyed which touched all .. how did a man of his Hindi eminence, become a Professor in the English Department of the Allahabad University, an institution that was and still is renowned for its educational  and academic merit  .. how did a man of such exemplary qualification translate important Russian works .. how did a man of his eminence write the Bhagwat Gita, in the language and graph and tone of the Ramayan - the Jan Geeta .. how did a man of his eminence join the UOTC - the University Officers Training Core - a subsidiary of the armed forces, initiated by the British during the Raj ..
‘मैं क़लम और बंदूक़ चलता हूँ दोनो ; दुनिया में ऐसे बंदे कम पाए जाते हैं  !’
How did a man of his eminence design the music of most of his recitations , so closely identifiable even now. The tune of his famous ‘Madushala’ his own creation , as also many other prominent works of his , still bring so much nostalgia and awe when we sit down with my music partners to put his words to instrumentation melody. They are all being done. Many have already been recorded by me and wait for the right platform for them to be made public. To put them not just in audio form but to give it a visual ; hopefully with my personal participation.
On the more personal front , activities of a ‘day in the life of’ shall have tons of footage of activities on set on recording on dubbing on KBC or events where stage shows were conducted .. on events where I was asked to speak .. the recordings of those speeches ..
.. and remember there are other family personalities that shall be in their presence on the site ..
.. already remixes of my own songs have been done, where the orchestration has been souped up and so has the singing - hopefully.
The moments I spend on a piano keyboard .. I do not know how to play, but the music partners have connected the piano via some computer technology to a lap top where every time I just randomly spend time on the key board it records automatically and transmits to the music partners who could pick up a note or two and make something of it .. not necessarily of great music value but at times a mood title is created and makes for gentle listening pleasure.
AND .. here is where I shall ask and request my devoted dedicated Ef to make contributions. Many do even now every day. In paintings and photo shopped designs. In their opinion in verse. In their thoughts. I shall welcome all .. and if found creatively expedient, shall not hesitate to render them in my voice and to expose it to the entire world - much like what we did during the promotions of ‘Badla’ ..
There is so much to say and disclose, but at the right time. The time now is to repair. If God willing I do survive this Covid, a lot will be asked of you, and I know that the contribution shall be so forthcoming that I shall never have to fear the lack of content.
I am blessed to have my Ef ..  of who they are ..  and what they have meant to me all these years ..
My gratitude and my love ❤️

My honest assessment of every version of MDZS now that I have consumed at least part of all of them, best and worst aspects of each.
The Untamed/CQL, the first version I encountered:
The best part of this show is literally every single moment that wwx and lwj are onscreen together. Every time they gaze into each other’s eyes I am reminded that love is in fact real. The last 20 episodes are just Wangxian on main and I love every moment of the Cloud Recesses part of the flashback. I would absolutely die for Wang Yibo and his absolutely stellar micro expressions.
I love this gem of a show. However, I can also acknowledge it is occasionally prone to corniness and the effects budget was I’m assuming quite low and thus some visual elements are deeply amusing. It’s part of the charm though and not that big a deal. Also it did have to have some aspects of the original story heavily censored, which is sad. But like, tbh, the production team still made it an explicit romance and it doesn’t Feel censored at all. Honestly the romance is that good. Episodes 42-46 in particular are just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Also full honesty I fast forwarded through quite a few villain scenes during the flashback cause they were kind of dragging and I wanted to get back to my boys and then I kept being like ‘who the heck is this’ when the villain stuff I fast forwarded turned out to be like actuallly important later.
The original version from the pen of MXTX herself, the book in fantranslation which I read immediately after finishing CQL:
Wow. Wow. The jump from watching the end of CQL and their wistful parting and stuff and then opening the book and seeing there’s a chapter titled wangxian and obviously reading that one first before going back to the beginning and finding out that instead of parting wistfully at the end they fuck off the side of the road and then elope. Amazing. Incredible. The 20 post canon fluffy (and kinky wow very kinky did not expect that but really quite pleased) one shots. Absolutely incredible thank you MA’AM.
The one downside: Please for the love of god why do so many of these anal sex scenes have to feature a lack of lubrication and proper preparation like I can be down with the noncon kink stuff but Dear God please include some lube and a smidge of fingering in there somewhere.
The manhua, of which I only read the most recent 30 or so chapters as of a couple months ago:
GREAT from what I read so far including the fact that it included an uncensored kiss from the book! Didn’t include Phoenix Mountain but did include LWJ getting drunk and tying WWX up with his forehead ribbon, bless up.
The only downside as far as I can tell is that it’s not finished.
The donghua, which I started a month ago and only watched two episodes but then started again today and watched basically the whole thing.
This opinion may be unpopular but this is the best adaptation by far, objectively. Being adapated in animation allows the fights and the magic to be just Incredible. It’s so well paced, better than Untamed, and manages to be quite close to the book while still cutting out and changing a few things. Actually made me cry about the destruction of Lotus Pier and made me sad about Yu ZiYuan.
And the clincher, Wei Wuxian is at his Most Badass. I cannot overemphasize how fucking hyped I was when he appeared amidst a flock of crows on top of a roof to kick Wen Chao’s ass. The fight scenes where wwx and lwj are working together are sooooooooo goooooooooood.
The downsides are yes that it does censor and skim over some of the wangxian content. But here’s the thing. They’re still 100% in love and some lines that I definitely didn’t expect to make it through censorship from the book are included so here’s hoping for some good shit in season 3.
Oh yeah that’s the other downside. It’s not finished, the final season isn’t scheduled till 2021 (but also corona so like who knows what that’s gonna do to production). S2 ends at the beginning of Yi City.
And last but Certainly not least, the audio drama:
Which I have tragically only experienced the clips of that are on YouTube cause I tried to download the fansubs and couldn’t get them to work on my old ass Mac idk what I did wrong rip.
But the parts that are on YouTube. Oh man. Oh man. The Guanyin temple confession scene? Jesus Christ I swear to god I have watched the clips of it on youtube at least ten times I Am Full Of Emotions Dear Universe Please Let Me Have The Rest Of The Audio Drama It’s All I Want. One day I shall prevail over my technological impasse and being that well fed with ship content I shall assume my final form, one of infinite power, fueled only by sheer fannish glee

Joshua 22:21-23:16, Luke 20:27-47, Psalms 89:14-37, Proverbs 13:17-19
Today is the 21st day of April welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it is always a humbling pleasure and joy to just to come in and have a seat around the Global Campfire with everybody else and have this place. It's amazing what…what we’ve been able to do together, right? To build an oasis, like an oasis for the heart that we can come to. It's like we made…we built this. Every day we can come here and it's a safe place to be in. Its just God word being read over us and us knowing that we can never really listen to the Daily Audio…like there's no time that we’re listening that somebody else isn't listening as well. And, so, we are in this together and that is an awe-inspiring thing. Even after all these years, it’s still an awe-inspiring thing…I mean I’m sitting here thinking about it and I can't stop talking about it. It's incredible that we have this place where we can be together. And, so, thrilled. Thrilled that we can take our place and take the next step forward. The next step forward leads us back into the book of Joshua. We’ve been traveling with Joshua and the crossing of the Jordan and the taking of the promised land and the dividing of the promised land. And we will conclude the book of Joshua tomorrow, but we left ourselves yesterday with a bit of a cliffhanger because the 2 1/2 tribes were going home, they built this large imposing altar and the 10 tribes found out about it in they’re like, they've gathered together for war and have sent some delegates from each of the tribes to find out what in the world is going on. And, so, we’ll pick up that story. We’re reading from the New Living Translation this week. Joshua 22:21 to 23:16.
Commentary:
Okay. So, we have basically rounded the corner and we are at the end of the book of Joshua. We will conclude the book of Joshua with tomorrow's reading. And we had a situation, develop in the last couple of days that could have been catastrophic, actually could've been civil war with…well…who knows how that would have gone other than it would have gone bad, right? So, just by way of reminder, these two and half tribes Gad, Ruben, and the half tribe of Manasseh that are in question here, they had been given their tribal land on the other side of the Jordan. It was conquered lands while the children of Israel were still wandering in the wilderness. And this land was given to them on the condition that they would cross the Jordan and fight alongside their brothers to settle that land, which they did. And then they came…they were…they were released, and they went back to the Jordan River and made this big altar. Okay. So, the news of that altar reached back to the other tribes in the land being settled and a story when around about that altar that these 2 1/2 tribes were rebelling against the other tribes and against God. That was not true. That is called an assumption. An assumption is a plausible explanation or a plausible way of looking at reality without all the facts. So, you have pieces of a story. In this case, yes, indeed the 2 1/2 tribes left camp. Yes, indeed the 2 1/2 tribes went back to the Jordan River. Yes, they built an altar there and continued on their way. Those are the facts. The rest of it was assumption, a plausible explanation that happened to be utterly false and could…that…that assumption, that reality that people had begun to live into and believe was the truth, that this 2 1/2 tribes went back to the Jordan River and conspired against the other tribes and conspired against God and had built this other altar was going to cause the other tribes to go and squash the conspiracy. And had they strapped on their swords and God on their horses and took off down toward the Jordan River toward these other tribes believing the assumption then it would've been catastrophic. Thankfully, they sent a delegation to see if there might be missing pieces to the story. And once those pieces were put into place the assumptions fell apart because they were false realities. Let's think though about how many assumptions we make in any day, but let's think of major assumptions that we've made that we've acted upon that have caused catastrophe in our relationships. Just because you can assume it doesn't make it real. Even just because you want it to be real doesn't make it real. And we are a people prone to believing whatever we want to believe. When an assumption is almost a creative power within us to fill in blanks and make a cohesive story that has a very important missing pieces that we made up so that it can make sense. And this isn't helpful. We remember the story of Jesus at Caesarea Philippi saying, “what are the assumptions about me? What are people saying about me?” And we remember the disciples saying, “they think you're John the Baptist rising from the dead.” That’s a…that's a false assumption, right? He wasn't John the Baptist raised from the dead or something…that you're one of the prophets of old. That was a false assumption. That's not who he was. Obviously, that story in the gospel is to lead us to the same question that He was asking, “who you say that I am?” But that it's ties in here because it's not “who do you assume that I am or who does everybody else say that I am, not make up an assumption or follow someone else's assumption. What is the truth of who you say that I am?” So, back to this story in Joshua. The assumption could've created something devastating. We need to remember that in our lives before we start trying to figure out things and filling in the blanks and forgetting that those are assumptions and not facts because otherwise we’re living a false reality, something we made up that could lead to something devastating.
Prayer:
Father we invite You into that. Our one point of truth is You. You are the way the truth and the life. When we are pursuing You with our hearts, we are pursuing the pathway of truth and the pathway of peace. When we’re frustrated or just making things up because it seems foggy out there and we need answers, and we start building assumptions then we’re being impatient and creating false realities. Help us Holy Spirit to be present to what is actually happening, to be present to the leading of Your Holy Spirit because You have promised You would lead us into all truth. So come Holy Spirit and lead us into all truth we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Thank you, Brian, your family, and the team. Everyday Brian you say that you are very thankful and grateful to have us partnered with you to bring the word of God across the world. And yet for me I really think I want to be the one to say that I am very thankful, honored. And it's such a privilege to be part of a ministry that is impacting, influencing, blessing, touching, changing every tribe, tongue, and nation across this globe. It's…it's just…it’s amazing just to even have that thought that God's word is penetrating to these places that I can't even go to myself, but the word of God through this ministry and through this technology is going across and beyond borders. I'm so thankful for this. Proverbs 11:25 says a generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. And I want to say that I am so refreshed that others are being refreshed. And, so, I want to extend this thanks in the same way that you have been extended your thanks. So, thank you so much. This is Ann from Arizona. By.
I just listened to April the 16th and I heard Jasmine who is a Canadian who is in Africa as a missionary and her husband David facing grace in Jesus. I just lift them up to You today. Wrap Your arms of love around them and sustain them. And I just ask for supernatural healing to flow over her husband's body, that You would heal him from this covid and this malaria and that You would sustain him and her daughters as their heir Lord for the Kingdom of God. Their Kingdom builders and I pray that You'd reward them for their service and that You would put a hedge of protection around them and keep out the fiery darts of the enemy. Make them strong Jesus. Help her to feel our prayers and our love and our care and our concern for You are the mighty God and Your hand is not short and there's nothing that You cannot do. I just left this precious family up to You Jesus and we’re trusting and hoping to hear a good report soon. We ask all these things in Your precious name. Amen.
Good morning family it's Mary Lynn from New Brunswick Canada and I'm calling this morning on Friday April the 17th or 16th I'm not sure for Jasmine. And Jasmine I want to pray for you. My husband's name is also Dennis and as you heard I'm also Canadian and I have two friends that are in Africa as missionaries as well. So, family just pray with me right now. Father I come before You Lord and I stand in agreement with Jasmine's request for her husband Dennis and his health. Father I ask Lord that Your hand of protection and healing would be upon Dennis right now Lord in the name of Jesus. Father these two people have given their lives at servants for You in this country far away from home. And Lord Your word tells us Lord that You are our healing. Your word tells us that You are our protection. Your word tells us that You're our stronghold and our…our savior. Father You are our everything. And Lord these people have given their lives in obedience to You, and they are looking to You to fulfill the promises that You have given them. So, Father just like it says in Genesis, “and the Lord said” and that is exactly what happened. Father we’re claiming that for Jasmine and Dennis, faith and grace. We ask Lord that every promise You have ever made to these two individuals for Your service that You would bring them to pass in this time. Give her peace, give her comfort, give her confidence in her savior Father. Help her to hold tightly to the hope that she has. And Father we just thank You. We thank You because it's done. Your word says and that is exactly what happened. So, we thank You Lord that You have been faithful to this couple. In Jesus’ name. Father, thank You. Jasmine we’re praying for you. Bye family.
Good morning Daily Audio Bible family this is John Opara recording from South Sudan Juba in South Sudan. It's been quite a while that I checked in. I have been traveling to the field to support our staff that are in the field within South Sudan. So, this has caused me to run behind but thankfully, thanks to God I have caught up now and this is why I am recording to just let everyone know I'm doing OK. I'm preparing to attend my daughter's wedding in the US. And I need your prayers because I need to first of all go to Nigeria to get my passport renewed and…and then go to US to attend the wedding in June. So, maybe I…I will call in from US when I get there. May God bless you. But I just want you to know and I…I hear all the things that are going on and the…the pain, the attack of the enemy upon the body of Christ and I want you to know that God remains the ultimate power. He is absolutely in control and will never fail you. Thank you. Bye-bye.
Hi Daily Audio Bible family this is Rebecca Joy from Illinois calling in. This is a few days late so I apologize for that, but I am calling in for Radiant Rachel and her niece Kaylee. I've heard the prayer request about how Kaylee's having some problems swallowing food and having a fear of it. And strangely enough out of everything that day that I have related too I related to that because when I was younger, I also had those kinds of irrational fears that I just didn't know where they came from but suddenly, I was afraid of things like thunderstorms and elevators and just odd things. But I wanted to call in hopefully giving some encouragement and let you know that I'm praying for Kaylee. I want her to know, if you would be so kind as to tell her, that having those fears, feeling those fears is OK but what's not OK is giving into them and letting them control your life. And, you know, I hope that she learns that lesson a lot sooner than I did because it took me quite a while. I'm 23 now almost 24 trying to still figure that out but hopefully she can get a head start. Yeah. I'm praying for you guys. Thanks for calling in and I hope to hear from you all soon.

3/20/2023 DAB Chronological Transcription
Deuteronomy 28 - 29
Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible Chronological, I'm China, welcome. Today is the 20th day of March. So glad to be here reading the word of the Lord with you today. Today we continue on in the book of Deuteronomy. We're going to pick up where we left off yesterday, of course with chapters 28 to 29. And for this week we are in the New English Translation.
Commentary
So we read today about the blessings and the covenant blessings and then we read about the curses as reversal of blessings and then we read about more curses and we read about this kind of recap, the Exodus wandering, the conquest reviewed. And just like, thinking about all of this, I feel like it's such an intentional, not setup, setup has, like, this negative connotation, but almost as if it's like this list of pros and cons and there's way more pros and there's also a lot of cons where this is what's going to happen to you if you don't follow the Lord. There's going to be a lot of curses. It's not going to go well for you. And so I think for me, reading all of this is a great refreshing reminder to be aware of the fact that our choices have consequences. And if we understand that or who God is and we understand what he has done for us, but more so really who he is, like what he's done for us is an overflow of who he is. And those are really great gifts, but who he is is the ultimate prize and that really should be enough for us. And so to really think about it, like Israelites had just as many distractions as we do. They're just different. I think a lot of times we can name off the things that we have a difficult time with, like distraction wise. And a lot of it can be social media or technology or different things like that, but they have the same things as just different timelines. There's nothing new under the sun. There was still adultery going on, there was still people wanting to leave their marriages because they wanted to be with somebody else and people wanting to covet someone else's wife within the family or without side of the family and claiming that something else has created them and saved them and rescued them. And again, it's the same things. It's like the same issues, just different things that are going on. And so we can, we can see ourselves in these stories. And I think really the last part that one of the last things that we had read today was the results of disobedience and had read this parenting book that I thought was fantastic when I was pregnant with Reagan. Actually, I want to read it again and it talks a lot about Jesus being very gentle in who he is and what he might have looked like as like I believe Jesus is a parent being part of the Trinity, father, Son, the three and one. And so I believe, like, yes, he plays a role as our parent, but what would he have looked like as a literal parent and just some parenting things being backed up through Scripture and had talked about obedience, and I haven't looked this up myself, and I really should. I want to. The word disobedience is an English word. It isn't a Hebrew or Greek word. What it would translate to is to thoughtfully consider and to ponder and then kind of make your decision from there. And so this whole thing of reading about disobedience and obedience and the Lord wants us to obey, and that kind of has always rubbed me a little differently, only because I'm like, I think the Lord wants us to really trust Him and to really trust that what he's saying is good. And in order for us to really want to use their word obey, that's fine. I don't have a problem with it. I just love to know the deeper things behind what we're reading and what we're talking about. But that's something that I don't ask my daughter, like, you need to obey me or you're disobeying. I'm more so of like, hey, I want you to listen to me. And she's very young right now, so there's some things that are non negotiable, like, hey, you have to hold my hand right now. We're going across the street, or that's like, such a small example, but I'm just trying to be conscientious of the things that I believe about the Lord and teaching her, and she gets to make her own decisions one day about how she parents. But anyways, I read things like this, and I'm like, okay, this is the result of being apart from God. This is like, yes, we are seeing in this text that is saying disobedience to disobey, to not listen, to, not do as you're told. And for me, I'm like, I'm not trying to get into a theological debate. That's not my heart. My heart is really more so of, I think what the Lord is always after is he wants us to trust Him. And when you do something because someone tells you to do it, you're just doing it maybe out of fear. And I think the Lord wants us to have that reverence and holy fear of Him, not afraid of, like, oh, he's going to smite me, or having that holy fear of Him. He could if he wanted to, but I'm not going to live in fear that if I get it wrong, I'm going to die. I'm going to be abandoned. That is more of a negative fear. Holy fear is, wow, you can do whatever you want, but I'm not going to live in a negative view. It doesn't make sense. I hope that makes sense. If not, I'll try to explain it at a different time. But really what I'm trying to get at here is, if the point is to ponder and to thoughtfully consider what the Lord is saying. I think when we do ponder, like, to really sit, set aside time and think about the Lord saying think about his ordinances, keeping his statutes, keeping his covenants, we really sat and thought about it. If you want to journal, process it out loud, whatever it is, the way that your brain processes it, I think what we'd find is that we want to do that. We want to follow it because we trust Him. And I think that's why there's so many references of the Exodus. That's why there's so many references of who the Lord was when he rescued his people out of Egypt, because that's an easy thing for them to remember, right? Like, their bodies may even quiver at the thought of being back at Pharaoh, but at one point they're like, no, let's go back. I don't know how true that is, but really think if we were to sit, consider, possibly consider to ponder the things of the Lord and what he's asking of us specifically in the Old Testament I know we don't live under these rules anymore, but there are certain things that I think yeah. We need to hear the word of the Lord. Need to ponder it. We need to digest it. We need to meditate on it. We need to have it be our daily bread in the way that it was intended. And what that means feels like what God said, gather up for the day, and if you leave it for the next day, it's going to be spoiled. And so we need to be in His Word daily so that we can understand what he's saying. We can understand his heart motive and say, wow, Lord, actually you're not wanting me to just do what I'm told so that you have a high off of this, so that I realize actually you have my best intention in mind and actually you want to use me or whatever the case may be. I believe that you are after my heart in this and that you want me to see that and you want me to stay focused on that.
Prayer
And so, Lord, I pray that we would do just that as we go through Your word throughout the rest of this year, throughout the rest of our lives, that we would thoughtfully consider and ponder Your words and that we would really meditate on them, digest them slowly. That we would taste and see that you're good. And we would know your heart for us and that we would see your heart and everything that you do for us and just who you are. And I thank you that you are a loving and kind, gracious father who has always been in pursuit of our hearts. And so I pray that as we sit through the things of Your Word, but then also the things that you're speaking of us. I thank you that what we're going to find is that you care and love us and that you have our best interests in mind. You are Father God and we trust you as a gentle and kind parent. And so I pray that we would be people who are earnestly trying to hear your voice, diligently seeking you out. I thank you that when we seek you, we find you. And I thank you that you're not just asking us to be robots and just do what we're told when we're told, but to know why we're doing what we're doing and to love and to serve you with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and strength. And I just thank you for your word and I thank you for your people. It's in your name. You pray. Amen.

I'm happy for those two letters that I was able to see. And I would love for you guys to continue to pray that God will heal my optic nerve. My baby is graduating on May 19. I want to be able to just see him get his diploma, just look in his eyes. And I just hope you guys have a wonderful week. I love you guys. Dave see, family, this is covered in this blood. Have a great week. Bye.
