A doctor's touch- Baizhu x fem!reader

this is so damn self indulgent and not really as much of a fic but more just my thoughts on Baizhu, so like slightly suggestive? That's like the only warning I have other than this is NOT proofread and will just be word vomit

Once again if you see grammar mistakes no you don't :)

I am 100% under the belief that Baizhu is a touchy person, like he will not get his hands off you. Before you two started dating he would leave little fleeting touches, to your shoulders, to your hands, to your thighs, etc. he just loves the feeling of your skin, even if for a few seconds.

When you two do start dating, good luck trying to get away from him. He will do everything holding your hand, with you in his lap, or just the two of you pressed close together, he just wants to always be near you!

Also he's a doctor, I know he's good with his hands. If he's not busy he will give you massages, and God I'm sure they're the best you'll ever have. He knows exactly where to put pressure and where not to, I'm sure he knows your body better than his own.

His favorite body part is definitely your thighs, he just loves how squishy and soft they are! If he has a break with you he will definitely lay his head on them, changsheng honestly is a little annoyed bc that means she actually has to move off his shoulders.

Speaking of Changsheng, she's totally a fan of you. even if she likes to complain, she does that about everyone, she does it significantly less about you dw :)

I mean this is a pretty obvious thing but he is the best person to be around when you're sick. I mean you literally live in a pharmacy with a doctor, he'll have you feeling better as fast as possible. Aside from the obvious though, I can see him actually being somewhat distraught while you're sick, not enough for anyone else to notice but changsheng, but still.

"Baizhu, you are well aware I don't like being around your neck if your hair is down." Changsheng started to slither up his arm, but stopped as she got closer to his neck. She hissed a little, before he raised his arm to meet her eyes.

"my apologies Changsheng, I've just been a little busy this morning." He walks over to the counter in the storage area of Bubu pharmacy, where he puts her down and then walks out of the room. She hisses once more, but curls up and waits for him to return.

He comes back into the room a few minutes later with his hair done, though changsheng can tell it wasn't done with his normal precision.

"You know [Name] just has a common fever, correct? I can tell that's what's bothering you."

"I am well aware, and it isn't bothering me, I don't know what you are talking about." Changsheng let out a grumble as she makes her way back up his arm and around his shoulders.

"you may be able to fool her, but you cannot fool me."

On the flip side, he is a NIGHTMARE to deal with if he is sick (well, more sick than he normally is). I mean he's literally dying, what's a little bit of extra coughing going to do to him? You are actually going to have to lock him in his room. Or lock yourself in there with him, at least you'll keep him occupied for longer till he tries to escape back to work.

He also will refuse to admit he's sick, like changsheng is at a point where shes begging you to make him lie down for a day or two. Yet he continues to brush off both of you, he always insists there is more work to be done. Even if you get him out right to admit that he's sick, he's still gonna try and take care of himself. He'll try to find all the medicine himself, make his own food etc., just because he doesn't want you to get sick too.

Back to him being touchy (sorry I was talking to my friend while I was writing they brought the being sick thing up) anyway, I think even if he's touchy, he's not a big fan of PDA. Like if you two are just around bubu pharmacy he will always be at the very least holding your hand, but when you two are out and about that's like the most he will do. It's not that he's embarrassed, he just doesn't find it necessary. If you two are out you're probably doing stuff, there's no need to be slowed down by constant touch (though if that's something you want he definitely isn't against it >:3)

I believe Baizhu would be open to being in a polyamorous relationship, whether that means both of you are just in an open relationship or you both have a third partner, he definitely doesn't care. I don't think he gets jealous easily, so if you bring another partner around he will welcome them very easily. He does tend to get defensive though, if he believes that one of your other relationships is hurting you, he will tell you what he thinks.

Anyway yeah I thought this was gonna be longer but guess who fucking forgot Tumblr existed! My finals were so stressful and honestly writing even after I was done with them also felt stressful, so I took another break. Hopefully I can get back into writing this summer, (may write some kind of birthday fic bc my birthday was a week ago). I hope y'all are enjoying the shit that I post, I know it's so inconsistent and random, but we're almost at 60 followers which is crazy to me, like the fact that 60 of you like my shitty thoughts enough to follow me is so crazy I love all of you sm :3

(disclaimer before I start that I'm not trying to argue with or discount what you said) Sorry for the long ask. On the "character's no. 1 fan" without joking thing, I don't exactly know how to phrase this without sounding weird but here goes:

I'm of the unfortunate demeanor that I fall into that category of people to an extent. I've tried thinking differently about it but I just can't bring myself to accept that there's no "wrong" way to enjoy a character.

BIG however, I keep that to myself. I would never try to gatekeep characters I like because I understand that other people are going to enjoy them whether I like it or not! And I can never control how they're going to like the same characters I do! And I'll let people go on about the character even if I don't exactly agree with what they're saying and I'm not going to correct them on headcanons or their own feelings ffs!

I know it's a frivolous thing to be upset about, but I can't control how I feel about someone liking something the "wrong" way. But what I can control is how I openly react. It's so easy to choose not to piss in someone else's cheerios.

This is so hard to phrase without sounding pretentious, so I'll use an example:

I really like Scaramouche. I've been playing Genshin since 1.0 and I was there in 1.1 when he was introduced. Long story short, I despise what they did to him and you'll never ever see me calling him "Wanderer" in most contexts. But guess what? A lot of people like the change! Am I going to tell them they're wrong for enjoying him that way just because it hurts my feelings? No! Those people aren't responsible for my feelings and trying to hold them responsible is asinine!

It all boils down to personal feelings. I know this kind of gatekeeping comes from a place of deep discomfort paired with an inability to understand that others are not responsible for personal feelings (especially not strangers on the internet). I'm not trying to excuse the actions of character gatekeepers, nor am I trying to garner any kind of sympathy. It's just frustrating that people behave like this. Like, oh no, someone likes The Character wrong. That sounds like a you problem. Get over it.

at first i wondered if you were one of the people i talked about in that post, trying to defend your honor or whatnot but, dear anon, you are not part of the freaks i talked about!

first of all, i do agree actually. i am also a strong believer that some people like characters in a wrong way. some people can be extremely weird about them, rude, etc

like the whole ordeal of fan-favorite characters having their tags flooded with complete OOC content, that makes you question if the fandom ever considered reading a single bit of canon-

i, for one, hate like 80% of things people say about baizhu, given the chance i'd probably find an issue with majority of his fans (somehow) kaveh- i literally prefer to pretend fandom perception of him does not exist. if i see a kaveh fav in the wild i do believe they have a great taste but my god i do not trust them right away

i absolutely agree that one can have an understanding of a character that separates them from most of the fanbase, making enjoying this character a little painful, as you kinda end up being the only one with this huge brain, knowing that few of your fellow character-enjoyers will even Understand

(and this is ofc a dramatic way to describe it. we all have our own preferences and opinions. they may never match. however being a grown person you likely are aware of it and you won't be having an actual war against the fandom... you just gonna rant to your besties, or make a cute tumblr post without putting into the tag of the character- and that is it)

this all however is about like deeper comprehension of the character in question, or perhaps just personal opinion/projection/etc. which is completely fine and dandy, i do that, you do that, everyone does that

but like you yourself mention - there is common sense

sure within my heart i am 'gatekeeping' baizhu, because i can't trust an average person to truly Get Him. however in the end of the day it is mostly a joke. i still adore talking about him with other people, and hearing others gush about him. it's great! would i ever go to a person and be like 'u like baizhu incorrectly' or after hearing my friend speak of him go 'um actually!!! this isn't how you should feel!!!!' ??? absolutely not. again if hanging out with someone who likes my fav, no matter how much they like them, even if they only like their vibe or whatever, i would be happy. LMAO. it's as simple as that - enjoying a fav character with someone else is fun even if your opinions don't completely match. and if they don't match too much, or the topic of the conversation revolves around smth you don't agree with - a normal person will just politely express how they can't share this sentiment OR perhaps you won't even say a word. you will just nod along because there is no point of arguing over that

my post was about those who manage to speak about their fav in a way that is so suffocating, it makes you feel weird about liking the same dude. it's all completely surface level, too, they are just so very obnoxious about. any mention of this character is For Them, they won't even consider your interests, never, not once. they are not here to share the joy of liking a character, they are here to flex how much they like them. and how powerful their feeling is. you, by their design, will never be considered on their level. they are the no.1 xyz fan, the ceo of xyz, etc. you are here to witness how much they thirst for this character and cheer i guess? idk

it's actually kind of hard to describe as it's just so unimaginable to me, i am yet to find a 'formula' for this type of behavior. however it is mostly a vibe and lack of consideration. they don't talk WITH other people about their favs, they talk AT them.

it's such an odd thing - i am repeating myself - but they just manage to make the topic revolve around their grand feelings so hard, that if you do not match this type of freak you end up feeling like your own care for this character is somehow lesser than theirs. that perhaps you didn't "earn" to truly call yourself a fan

and i guess the most important aspect of this all, it's not about strangers on the internet.... it's about friends/fellows

the real freakiness comes not from the fact that they are not 'maybe a little too passionate while talking to a random person', no they are this way around friends lol. you talk to them thinking you gonna have this cute thing in common, share a favorite character. but that does not happen.

they are unable to share. the character belongs to them 100%. and they will act judgy about the way you speak of them, god forbid you talk about their fav too much, they will definitely get cranky. all of this is just a competition to them which they have to win. and the toxicity of it all may cause you to put your own feelings aside and start acting as obnoxious just to feel like you are allowed to like this character too.

and it's fucking crazy!!! this is why i made this post! because it's so gross and weird! it's like we are kindergarten and these losers are yet to learn how to share toys! these characters are also - FICTIONAL - they don't even exist. how hard it is to be happy to be around a fellow fan? i have no idea. but for some people it's borderline impossible, and they have an amazing skill in making you regret getting into media/liking a character

tldr; i agree with you, gatekeeping (light-hearted) of a character is a normal thing, we all have our of opinions and fanbases are weird as hell. but it's a whole different topic! to be downright rude to people you know, to act like you are the only one to ever like this fictional character is weird. people who make you feel like you have to prove yourself in order to be a fan of smth are like children who can't share toys, being friends with them is tiring, and sharing your passions with them is like a gamble. they either wont care about your interest OR they gonna metaphorically steal a fav from you and act like you do not belong

I like how Liyue's age of humanity only matters with regards to the divine when the problem is Rock Mysteries and, say... any other godly issue that's plagued Liyue this year. Also, we visited two whole people for their food opinions.

Wangshu Inn continues to be one of my favourite locations. It's just 2 frustrated parents and 1 exhausted uncle trying to make sure Xiao lives a remotely healthy lifestyle. Smiley Yanxiao is conspiring to make him eat vegetables.

Xiangling, two minutes after Ganyu leaves: "Hey maybe we should ask the adeptus about the stove god" WOW AMAZING IDEA XIANGLING, I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT

It's great to see Madame Ping and all, but given the current mystery is trying to work out whether or not the Stove God was Rex Lapis I feel we should kind of just cut out the numerous middle men here. Or have we already filled our funeral parlour visitation quota for the day?

this event is really long and the concept is fine, but i’m not too impressed with the characterisation so far. chongyun and xingqiu didnt really interact, beidou and ningguang’s dynamic confuses me, and no-one’s really talking in an interesting way that characterises their relationships for me... besides keqing and xiangling, a pair i wasn’t interested in. 

but the sidequests this time seem to involve characters we actually know, which is a real step up, so i’m hoping those questlines will be good - especially after the general improvements we saw in inazuma. 

also this game really got my hopes up that i’d get to see xiao today and then mercilessly snatched them away, so like. 0/10

2. how did you get into genshin and how long have you been in the fandom?

the first time i ever saw anything abt genshin my gf was playing it and i was like o lmao that looks like botw and she walked around with xiangling and then my friend wanted to play it and he started playing it while i was visiting and i saw the kaeluc scene. and then i got indoctrinated into it via chats between my friend and gf and i was finally like u know what i am going to try it. and that was on jan 16 2021 :) i posted my first kaeluc fic on feb 5 2021 so we all know how that went lmao

4. what was the most interesting quest in your opinion?

ohhhhhh god uh we've had so many. um. i promise this isn't just recency effect but we all know i'm a lore whore so i really enjoyed the recent archon quest? i also enjoyed the second time we met dain, where we saw our abyss sibling again. a close second to those would be the enkanomiya quest, i do love my man enjou lmao

12. which region do you like the most?

asdfljksdf okay this is conveniently related but i am a big fan from a lore perspective of enkanomiya and everything we got there. however, mond is definitely like. my home. lmao.

imagine having beef with an individual , and then going around and gatekeeping that individual and getting people to unfollow / block them . im not talking about , ‘ hey this person is vile because they ship incest ’ . i am talking about ‘ i had a disagreement with this person & they hurt my feelings >:/ they are mean and will hurt you . etc etc etc . ’

okay sorry i am angry but still . people claim and cry about wanting to talk & communicate . but then . guess what . sometimes shitty people are like , so this person said this to me , and they are mean . somebody goes to amphy and says ‘omg ghost said this , and im frustrated and angry with them cause what he said was uncalled for . ’ if amphy goes ‘ omg ghost is shitty ’ and then unfollows / blocks them without any other discussion , then thats an issue cause ghost has no idea wtf happen . amphy got involved in YOUR relationship with ghost even though ghost has been nothing but kind and sweet to you . you also don’t know if amphy is just victimising or being emotional either . so why they fuck would you believe somebody who is venting to you about it and then block somebody who did literally NOTHING to you .

i dont know if i explained that correctly but i will give you something more realistic , again without namedropping .

1. hmm, if i could only choose one… i’ve said it before, my three favs are xiao, childe and scara but for this scenario, let’s focus on xiao and childe

3. any of the child characters, i could never hurt klee or sayu; also qiqi bc of her backstory, the poor girl already died once and it would break my heart to put her through this again

honestly though, every character would have me reconsider if i could actually do this; just thinking about ayaka, beidou, kazuha, thoma and everyone else would certainly make me want to cry; maybe the fact that they’d have died in the end/apocalypse anyway could console me a little but i’d go into the new world with a heavy heart and a bit of trauma

4. who would fight back… i think the harbingers certainly would; childe is 1) always up for a fight and 2) this man wants to conquer the world, so moving on into the new world would be a step into the right direction for him (might try and talk me into choosing him over xiao)

scara is not one to give up control over a situation and if scheming his way out won’t work, i don’t think he’d shy away from a confrontation

5. in contrast, xiao would not fight me; he saw his fellow adepti perish, committed atrocities before meeting morax and suffered greatly under his karmic debt, he might have made peace with no longer being around; if i’m someone he cares about (which i hope i am), he’d want me to live and move on without being burdened by a similar weight

i think the archons and adepti would be the ones who’d understand the situation best, they are used to dealing with matters of this scale, so i think they might be the ones who wouldn’t try to change their fate; i’m on the fence for the tsaritsa and raiden shogun though bc for the former we still don’t know her motive for the whole gnoses stealing thing, maybe a new world would be right up her alley? and well for raiden, this isn’t exactly “eternity” but in her story quest and teapot interactions, we see that she is working on her definition of eternity and cherishes the traveller, so maybe she would willingly stay behind in teyvat

xiao would feel extremely guilty if he would be the only one besides me who would get to move on, he’d ask himself if he truly deserves this after everything he’s done; however, with teyvat’s demise, the malice and hatred of the gods he’s slain should also perish, so maybe xiao can finally experience a life without his karmic debt, a life without the contract binding him to liyue; a fresh start in a world where he can be more than a tool or a weapon

childe would be absolutely thrilled to explore a new world and search for strong opponents to fight, he’d be eager to establish his place at the top soon after his arrival; here he can do things his way, the straight forward way, without being a pawn in someone else’s plan; although, all of this would have to wait until he properly mourned the loss of his family…

uhhh well first of all I think childe x zhongli is like the most pathetic and boring "default" pairing this fandom came up with. they have 0 chemistry and I just hate everything about it. as much as I headcanon both as queers... together romantically it feels like 2 straight men put together by ya*i fans............ also before i blacklisted to ship and voluntarily looked through the ship tag... every post felt like a hard ooc. i could not understand what childe or zhongli are supposed to be as individuals, what they have in common, what kind of dynamic they have. deadass most crack ships with 0 interactions have more flavor than this tragedy

eng VAs are great people and appreciate their work but whoever decides the voices ain't doing it right. every male character sounds like a middle-aged white man.. and most of the youngest characters sound like very obvious adults trying to pretend to be babies. all of it irks me so bad god.. and there are so many characters that lose their little spark in eng........ (yet in korean and chinese they're completely fine??)

all of the playable adult male characters are shitty people in one way or another. none of them are good. they have reasons and different perspectives, yes, but they suck. every single one of them. stop ignoring it or trying to say only some are evil. none of them are inherently terrible.. but they're not these precious and righteous individuals. they're men.................... that says a lot, actually. :\
