fiction vs reality is one thing. the way huge chunks of a fandom will rise up to very clearly enforce that a certain line of criticism is unacceptable or overdramatic or somehow unfair, or to shut down concerns that are centered in racial justice, is another — and witnessing those ranks swiftly closing up and that social enforcement mobilizing is very, very real, especially when you're a person of color. it sets a tone that is real. it replicates systems of social power and control that are real, and presents very real indications of whose discomfort and whose pain is prioritized.

FORGED BY FIRE D02: Battle Couple

Wanted to participate in @heartsandsparksshipweek 's for this year but I got quite busy these last days of the month :') But I'll try to grab at least two prompts I like the most from the [List].

AND YES, THE DUET OF HOTHEADS 🔥 I have had a desire to do artwork of them since the past year so, even if simple, I'm pouring my whole heart into these fun tiny pics ✨

it was visually stunning, the soundtrack and animation was amazing, but I felt like Karakasa moved way too fast for any of the details or emotion to really hit. The slower, more mellow and introspective pace that the 2007 series and ayakashi horror tales have make you really marinate in the emotion and it’s quite dreadful. I feel like karakasa didn’t really give the viewer any time to sit with the emotion so the emotional impact was minimal in comparison to its predecessors

that being said I am going to watch it two or three more times to pause every two seconds to catch all the details I couldn’t keep up with in the first viewing

we don't normally do stuff like proposing new plural terminology out in public but we've been dealing with some pretty weird niche conditions regarding our current main fronters lately so i would like to offer these two terms that have helped us personally define our experiences --

pseudofictive:

a system member that appears or is at some point believed to be an introject from one or more sources, but is not a fictive and/or does not identify as one

(we're aware this literally translates to "false fictive" -- this is a term one of us coined for himself specifically as they feel "being mistaken for a fictive" is important to him specifically.)

unfictive:

a fictive specifically from a source that doesn't exist/no longer exists, cannot be talked about, or is effectively treated as no longer existing for any number of reasons -- but still at least partially identifies as a fictive from that source

uh yeah that's about it. we hope... this helps?
