🍔 Updated review ━ 📍 Gnarly Burger ★★☆☆☆ • Gnarly Burger is a real veteran on Stockholm’s burger scene, and have tried everything from food trucks and restaurants to food markets. Their focal selling point is their large burgers and other American dishes, such as ribs and steak sandwiches, and in their Fridhemsplan restaurant they’ve recently started serving pizzas as well. When they opened their first restaurant back in 2015 we really liked their burgers, but they’ve seen some decline in quality over the years. And seeing as we hadn’t visited them in a while it was time to try them again. • Their burger menu mainly consists of various 180-gram patty burgers, but we opted for one of the newcomers; The Hillbilly Smash with two 100-gram patties, cheese, white onions and their signature sauce for 149 SEK (18 USD), including a large order of french fries. • The burger they served us didn’t look promising at all. The first thing we noticed was that the bun was flat and a few centimeters wider than the beef patties. We’re assuming that their larger patties fit better, but we had hoped that they would have used a more suitable bun to fit these smaller patties. Furthermore, the bun looked like a classic breakfast roll, and was both hard and dry. After taking a bite of the burger we also noticed that the beef patty was a bit too dry and compact for our liking, and also a bit underseasoned. We would also have preferred less raw onions, seeing as they were overpoweing.
