The rat doesn't let go for a moment, but he does loosen up, or, go more slack. Leaning his head on their shoulder and sighing. He hadn't even picked them up like usual, instead crouched to hug the vice at his own level... He was worse for wear. patches of fur still growing back, deep, ugly half healed scars still mending, bruises still prominent and wraps around his ribs, shoulder, back, an arm, and hind leg still splinted or being held in place. His skin was paler, sunken, and tired. His fur a touch coarser, eyes lacking their usual dazzling luster. He'd been through Hell.

"It looks worse than it is." He chuckles hoarsely. And immediately grits his teeth to muffle the coughs. The rat king's whole colossal body trembles slightly. "Little scrap, king things..." Gordon waves it off, pulling away to look them over. "And yourself? Are you alright? You've been gone awhile, had me worried."

She'd then leap into the air and land in front of him, staring him down and crossing her arms.
