He didn’t get a full night’s sleep for weeks after the incident. 

Half the time there were the dreams. She would be there, looking like the picture from the news or on her desk or in his mind from that terrible terrific night. She would lock her lips on his, return his knife, take back what he had stolen, all while everyone stared and groped and clawed at his – he would jolt awake, often with a new shameful stain on his nightclothes or his blankets. He quickly returned to sleep those nights, hands wrapped in mittens so his nails wouldn’t stab his palms.

The other times his mind would wander as he lay himself down, returning as it often did to the incident. He would worry about what had happened, what could happen, what could have been – and then it came. He would try to shoo it away, make it clear it was unwelcome, but that only made it come closer, stalking forward on four limbs like a prowling tiger despite its uncanny, barely-clothed human anatomy. Even once he closed his eyes, he could feel it watching from the dark with its large, magenta eyes. If he managed to get to sleep, he would feel a large, tingling pressure settle on his chest. Those nights he screamed.

it is actually! its rubbery and squishy

its just like.....comparable to like a silicon slip-cover, almost

they either shed off naturally on their own or they can be cut off but yeah theyre actually kinda rubbery and squishy

theyre actually made of skin despite the rubbery texture; its the same kind of skin that we have around our fingernails that flexibly but firmly holds them in place! neat huh

I could see that! They might have used this design as a blueprint for Huntail, just like how they might have used the scrap shark Pokemon as a blueprint for Sharpedo.
