This ^^^ is important. Think before you speak.

I'm sorry but we worked our asses off to make a game for free as a gift to the community and now there are a lot of posts dragging us through the mud because we wrote Schneep's accent out phonetically.

That's an absolutely appalling reason to suddenly hate on anyone. It slaps us in the face after all our effort getting this out to you and working late nights, sometimes losing sleep, just to make this game. And until very recently, we weren't aware this was such a big issue and have even decided to make an updated version to fix this. Bear in mind, again, none of us are getting paid, either for the initial game or the extra time we'll be spending going through it to make a fixed version.

Some of the things we've read about ourselves are deeply hurtful and upsetting. I'm honestly ashamed of the community right now. I thought we were better than attacking someone for an artistic choice rather than just coming to us and explaining your issue rather than throwing out blanket terms like "offensive."

All this needless drama could have been avoided if you'd just asked us nicely. We always go above and beyond what's expected for our games. Why would we say no to a perfectly reasonable request?

I'm sorry if this seems aggressive, I don't mean it to come off that way, but one of the team members was deeply hurt by these thoughtless comments.

All in all, we are genuinely sorry people are so split on this choice. Two of our artists are German (one wrote the special thanks in the credits in German because the people we were thanking helped us translate some later dialogue- look for it in the credits). At no point did our translators or either artist complain about this, and if they had spoken up, we absolutely would have listened. Again, we are sorry if we offended anyone or made the game hard to read. But the least you could do is talk to us, not attack us.
