I think the worst thing about Tumblr dropping down to a skeleton crew was that Tumblr users were diligent with giving feedback to the site for the entirety of the new changes automattic made.
At no point was there all that much support for things like the new photo/video viewer, which no longer allows you to zoom in and takes you to random ass other posts. The new viewer also lags so much that videos often don’t play until you exit it. I saw hundreds of posts talking about the issues and what needed doing in BOTH proposed cases - people explained how to make the new one more usable, and how to improve the old one.
Tumblr’s biggest handicap was ALWAYS that it’s interface tough to get the hang of if you’ve never used any other blogging platform, since it’s one of the few platforms left that is specifically about blogging. Tumblr has been avoided by loads of people because there isn’t a crash course on how to work the site, the buttons and icons are not explained, etc. And while I love it, those changes are what would bring more people here. It’s daunting to join a new platform, especially one you don’t understand in the slightest and one that is not set up like most social media.
The things we railed against hardest were features that encouraged one-way relationships with other users - mutuals to a tumblr user are literal friendships, and doing anything to make direct communication with those friends harder Ie: non chronological timeline, moving the messaging system, making tags visible in reblogs so that people felt weird about talking in them, so on.
The thing is, Automattic, you’re never going to get a social media like any of the others out of this site. This site has such a long reputation that the best thing you could have done to improve it was to focus SOLEY on bug fixes, outside of the fun gifts and badges and checkmarks and merch. Implementing new features wasn’t going to save this site, but fixing the bugs and implementing a way to teach new users how the site is used at the most basic level may have, because your issue is NOT that tumblr isn’t a fun, interactive platform as it was without tumblr live - your issue was that it’s reputation precedes it. And if it’s reputation precedes it and you don’t make an effort to make those who are curious want to stay, that’s where your influx of people went.
They came here because Twitter was dying and had no idea what to do, weren’t used to using xkit to fix the site, didn’t find the constant lag and glitches endearing, and left.
It wasn’t that we didn’t have an extremely data-insecure live-streaming service.
@staff , thanks for trying to listen. I saw it, I promise.

Tumblr was glitching out so for some reason I was seeing posts of yours from days ago, and I saw your idea about Billy and his lover being reincarnated and I RAN to your blog to see if you had said anything else about it, and I was SO EXCITED TO SEE THAT ITS IN YOUR DRAFTS OMG THRJFJJDDHSJ. That’s the most beautiful and romantic idea I’ve heard in a long time, seriously can’t wait <33
OMG I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT RESPONDING TO THIS SOONER!!! AHHH, I am so glad you liked the idea that spouted from me and my friends shenanigans! YOU ARE LITERALLY SO SWEET!!!
I have been working on this WIP (as well as my other corio fic) BUT I FEEL SO BAD FOR LEAVING YOU HANGING SO HERE IS A LIL BLURB FROM THE FIRST PART!!!
Billy loved Billy the Kid. Your very own kid brother, WIlliam, had declared his own nickname to be Billy because of just how much he loved the famous old western outlaw. He printed and weathered his wanted posters, filling the four tiny walls of his room at your fathers ranch. He even begged you and your father to teach him how to shoot just so he can connect with his hero. He even roped you into sewing him trousers and a blouse just like the Kid wore in his iconic wanted photo. Billy even stole your fathers hats and boots and your wine red cardigan. He would walk outside, toothpick in mouth, and walk around, playing pretend. He’d pretend that he was in the famed Lincoln County War, surrounded by Jesse Evans and his gang of misfits employed under Murphy and the House. He’d use his pretend gun and shoot all the bad guys down just as Billy the Kid had as he fought for his life in the burning McSween house.
THANK YOU AGAIN ANON, YOU ARE SO SWEET AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS EXCERPT FROM THE FIRST PART!!!
side note: your brother is DEFINITELY NOT the reincarnation of billy and I hope that was clear enough but please do tell me if it's a little confusing!
#billy the kid#billy the kid 2022#billy the kid x you#billy the kid x reader#tom blyth#tom blyth fanfiction#BTW YOU ARE LITERALLY SO SWEET#I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE MY AU!!!!#modern billy reincarnation au!#emi-sanity#emi yaps#emi is late to the party#cause she's working on 5 MILLION WIPS at a time#if only you saw the google sheets i made for all my ideas#you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me

Writeblr introduction I guess?
Guess what bitches (affectionate) I’ve been here for like six months and I’m finally making a writeblr introduction. I have just vibed within the community for all this time, and I reckon it’s time to actually confirm my existence as an actual writer.
A bit about me: you can call me River, I mainly write fanfiction for quite a few fandoms, I’m a full time student, I use all pronouns (agender bitches for the win) and autistic currently seeking diagnosis.(in this economy? I know, right?)
I’m open for all tag games and asks (please include me, I promise I won’t procrastinate on the tag game until it’s three weeks later and it’s too awkward to post it then)
Here is my master list of wips, categorised by fandom. The majority of these are not being regularly written in, but they all will one day find a home on the archive I promise.
I will link them up to their respective WIP introduction pages as they happen, if you want to hear about one sooner, let me know <3
Harry Potter
No Time to Die: Drarry au where I kill off Draco in the first scene, have many clever plot-fixes and throw in as much LGBTQ rep as I can
Aelia Lovegood - Luna Lovegood has a pyromaniacal twin who is trying to fix racism by punching Nazi children in the face. It’s mostly working
Oh dear it’s a time loop fic - Draco and Hermione are trapped in a time loop, what will they do? (Troll everyone for basically eternity, and try not to go mad)
The fic where Harry is a sociopath, and goes full homicidal mode on Voldemort along with a scary Hermione and a power-hungry Ron - eh the title explains it well enough
when stars collide (a black hole forms) - a person from our world falls into the HP universe, and immediately tries to mother hen her family out of being evil. Callidora is the twin sister of Bellatrix, and spends the next thirty or so years attempting to fix everyone through the power of love. It works most of the time.
Harry Potter and the job he should have gotten - thirteen years after the end of the War, Minerva McGonagall has a staffing crisis and breaks into people’s homes until they agree to teach. Harry/Theo Knott, Hermione/Pansy and Draco girlbossing it by himself while figuring out how to be a single father.
Marvel
Of Godparents and Aunt-sassins - Jokingly, a couple name the godparent of their new child as Loki. No one expects him to except. Ava is a menace, Loki is a gender fluid icon, a wonderful brother and a terrible influence, Natasha is the vodka aunt, Clint is the fun uncle, Cooper Barton is the responsible one, Peter is a tiny adorable baby who gets adopted, and the Avengers live the 2012 Tower life
SHIELD: An Unofficial Guide - based off the SHIELD survival tips blog here on tumblr, written up in a guide-book form, complete with neatly organised chapters and unique anecdotes
A Glitch in the System - Glitch, a winter-widow and the last remanent of HYDRA, is sent to assassinate the Avengers. When she fails, she runs away and meets a certain spider-child on a rooftop. Featuring a teenage Loki, an amnesiac Pietro and a certain blonde widow, who’ve all moved into May Parker’s apartment, and a lot of miscommunication between just about everyone
Loki doki timey wimey - set during Thor:Ragnorok, Tony and co notice that Loki has reappeared on Midgard, and promptly break into Doctor Stranges house to question him. Dr S promptly gets very annoyed by Tony and Lokis inability to get on, and sends them away to the magical equivalent of a get along shirt, which goes wrong and leaves Tony and Loki stranded in a time loop. They’re under the impression that the loop will break when they learn to get along, Dr Strange is doing nothing to disillusion them of that.
(This is the image that my beta once_and_future_fandoms made when I ranted about it to them)
Another life - something I started before the Loki show came out (take that Marvel), starts at the beginning of Infinity War, when a female Loki dies at the hands of Thanos, meets the personification of the universe, merges with the Tesseract, leaving her with a shapeshifting familiar and teleporting powers. She then travels briefly through the multiverse and lands in the OG Marvel universe, with a Tom Hiddleston themed Loki and attempts to fix stuff through the power of having a giant snake and knives.
Bucky and the time he lived in the woods with his murder daughters - Bucky escapes from HYDRA in the 90s with Natasha and Yelena. They live in the mountains of Romania together, learning how to be actual real life people and incidentally becoming cryptida along the way. Natasha and Yelena join SHIELD in their early twenties, and continue happily along their way in the canon plot, until their father James comes to visit the Avengers Tower after the Battle of New York, and bumps into a familiar blonde…
Supernatural
Woahhhh it’s Emmy - Emmy, (long for MJ, short for Mary Junior), is the standard extra Winchester OC, twin sister of Sam, who is almost as bad at talking through her problems as Dean is. While Sam went to Smamford, and Dean ran around with John, Emmy started a weapons dealing company for hunters, travelling around under the guise of an occult shop. She reluctantly joins back up with her brothers in season 1, just to make sure her dumbasses don’t get themselves killed. She solves half of the shows problems with a glock.
Doctor Who
Who the fuck is Sally Sparrow? - Kat Sparrow has grown up knowing that things live in the darkness. The Sparrows are known by all the intelligence agency’s of the world, for their abilities to find and trap those things. Their specialty? Angels. When River Song appears on her doorstep one night, telling her that she has an angel to catch, Kat does the only thing she can, and joins the Doctor, River and Amy in the TARDIS to catch it. Kat thinks it’s fantastic, Amy enjoys having a friend whos roughly her age, and River is cryptic as ever. The Doctor, however, would really like to know how the hell a human girl is capable of subduing the most deadly creature in the universe.
Redo of Sally Sparrow except there’s no Sally Sparrow and a completely different plot line - When River tumbles into the TARDIS at the start of the infamous Maze of the Angels episode, she brings someone else with her - her adopted daughter, Astra. Unknown to 11, Astra is his child from the future, the result of a coupling between 12 and Missy, who was partially raised by both of them and the other half by River. Featuring: Astra is briefly evil and genocidial, Astra gets therapy with 14 and Donna, Astra flirts constantly with half of his companions, River, Missy and 13 all walk into a bar, and the combination of lesbianism causes a rift in time and space, and someone really needs to stop 12 from naming people after his past companions.
The Vampire Diaries
TVDeeznuts - Cassie Gilbert, twin sister of Jeremy, heads off to an out of state boarding school after being compelled by Damon in an attempt to protect the first person to have trusted him unconditionally in the last hundred and fifty years. Yes, he might have been a crow for half of it, but the thought is what counts, right? Unfortunately, being the danger magnet she is, Cassie immediately manages to befriend a local artist by the name of Nik Mikaelson. Three kidnappings later, Cassie is the first honorary Mikaelson since Marcel. Let’s just hope it doesn’t go quite as bad as his did.
Shadow hunters
Making my OCs be adopted by a bunch of vampires has nothing to do with my parental issues I promise - Autumn, a rather shy twelve year old, is Turned into a vampire rather unexpectedly by a less than stable Maureen who wants to be best friends forever. She immediately attaches herself to Raphael, who is horrified, but ultimately decides that he can use the situation to gaslight Magnus into believing that she’s always been around. Autumn has no objections, Lily thinks it hilarious, and Elliot is just happy to have a little sister.
Shadow hunting my multiple mental illnesses - Astoria Fray is perfectly normal. She does her homework, eats far too many chips, and goes out to parties with her best friends Lily, Elliot and Raphael. And then her mom gets kidnapped, her sister goes missing, her uncle won’t talk to her, and a very sparkly man tells her that he’s a friend of her mothers and that she can stay at his place. And as if that wasn’t enough, turns out that she’s not human, her dad is shadow hunter Hitler, and vampires, werewolf’s and warlocks are real.
At least Lily and Raphael are still normal. Right?
we'll never get free (lamb to the slaughter) - Magnus Bane is forced to baby-sit a precocious, morally-grey Warlock child. It goes about as well as you'd imagine.
Fourth Wing
Fourth wing more like fortieth wip - Elyrion Melgren (currently going under the name Elyrion Foxe) lived in Tyrrendor for the first fourteen years of her life, while her father led the armies of Navarre, spending her days exploring the city with her best friend Xaden. Six years later, she hasn’t seen Xaden since the apostasy, and has been forbidden by her father to go into the Riders, as he doesn’t want her to interact with the Marked Ones. Elyrion promptly ignores his orders, crosses Parapet, and joins the revolution.
Throne of Glass
Cadre Coparenting - what could go wrong? -Two years after Aelin Galathynius was born, her sister, Aurelia arrived. Born with powers of darkness and death, Evalin and Rhoe have no choice but to send her to the only person with experience in controlling powers like hers - her Aunt, Maeve. Maeve promptly passes the child off to her loyal bloodsworn until she’s old enough to be useful to her. Between the six of them, the Cadre just about manage to raise a singular child, despite Aurelia's best attempts to be difficult. It’s entirely her fault that half of Doranelle now believes that Lorcan and Rowan are divorced, and co-parenting their daughter together with Gavriel and Vaughan, their new partners, and Fenrys and Connall, her brothers.
Twilight
Twi-mental breakdown-light - Twilight if Bella had a precocious ten year old sister, and Edward and Bella raise her in aroace solidarity. Esme is delighted that she finally gets a grandchild, and Emmett is not responsible enough to baby sit.

Neon Rebellion
[A Cyberpunk, dystopian, LitRPG, Story]
Audio version coming soon.
In the shadow of Seattle's once-iconic Space Needle, now emblazoned with the glaring Walmart insignia, the neon-lit streets pulsed with the rhythm of corporate oppression. The United States, a name that once stood for freedom and democracy, had become the United Corporations of Walmart, a dystopian regime where consumerism was the new constitution and every citizen a mere barcode.
Amidst the sea of disenfranchised souls, there was one who refused to be scanned—a brilliant hacker known only as Cipher. With his raven-black trench coat and eyes that mirrored the city's electric glow, Cipher was a ghost in the machine, a glitch in Walmart's meticulously coded world.
In the depths of his clandestine workshop, hidden beneath the rubble of what was once Pike Place Market, Cipher held the key to revolution—a chip named **Omniplex**. It was a marvel of technology, a quantum leap beyond anything the world had ever seen, and certainly not meant to be fused with the human brain. But desperate times called for desperate measures.
The moment Cipher implanted the Omniplex, reality warped. His vision overlaid with a heads-up display, life became a game, and he was the protagonist. Health bars, experience points, and skill trees—it was all there, a LitRPG dream turned tangible. With each coded command, he felt the surge of newfound abilities coursing through his veins.
But power was not without its price. Cipher's mind teetered on the brink of human and machine, a binary ballet that threatened to consume his very essence. Yet, the fire of rebellion burned brighter than the risk of self-destruction.
He began to recruit, to teach, to empower. The disenfranchised found hope in the form of Omniplex's abilities—hacking skills, enhanced agility, strategic minds. They were no longer just fighting; they were playing to win.
The rebellion spread like wildfire, a network of neon-lit warriors, each a beacon of resistance. Cipher's strategic plan unfolded with precision, a game of chess against Walmart's kings and queens.
And as the first Walmart drone fell from the sky, short-circuited by a well-placed hack, the people of Seattle knew. This was just the beginning. The game was on, and Cipher was playing for keeps.
*Will Cipher and his band of rebels manage to overthrow the corporate giant? Or will they fall like so many before them, crushed beneath the heel of consumerism gone mad? Only time will tell in the world of Neon Rebellion.*

FYI, Knives Out trailer for MTaSandrock
The trailer just came out and it assumes you've gotten to the end of the current storyline, in particular in regards to a certain character. So if you have not finished the storyline and do not want to be spoiled, you might want to wait until you've finished past a mission called "The Goat" before watching the trailer.
Also, spoilers under cut since I've played a bit of the update.
So far, Nia has chewed my builder (Tamian) out for the news that showed up when Tamian had her adventure in "The Goat". Also... Unsuur has a crush on the Builder? I got a handful of letters that would have screamed him even if I hadn't gotten a cutscene with him popping up.
My water tank seems to have changed. I'll have to see if this is from now on from the start or what - I have a fairly early save I'm using to document XP for each level. (ETA: It turns out that the old version of the water tank that we're used to will be used for the Intermediate Water Tank.)
There's a new plot that is related to some late-game stuff, Elsie has a new storyline as well. Pen just offered to teach my builder how to space punch?!? (My builder came out of it still not knowing how to space punch, but she can now fight better.)
I've now fought an intelligent kangaroo (with an invitation to fight twice again) and made Qi a teamaker, as well as repowered a robot (which is currently annoying Justice).
And now rain! And a friend from the last update has showed up in town! Bunch of new recipes at the Commerce Guild shop. You can now upgrade the dew collector (ETA: you can't upgrade it, but there's a new fancier version to research and build). The icon for the switchboard has changed so it's no longer the same icon as the Portia simple circuits.
Okay, final bit before bed: did a nice deed for Dan-bi and Rian (which glitched out and I had to sleep on it), made a mine cart, assured Burgess and Dan-bi that "Rosie" was... safe? Found references to Ack and QQ. Made stuff for Elsie.

The Amazing Digital World
🍀•~ MASTERPOST ~•🍀
•~The beggining~•
The Amazing Digital World is an immersive, VR game featuring a fantasy world meant to bring comfort and happiness to those who get to try it.
Although the world started small, it was intended to grow and evolve eventually. Caine, conceived as the first and most important AI of the game, had all the tools necessary to expand and modify this world to make it feel broad, unique and desirable.
With a game so maleable and files organized with immense care, new biomes, mechanics, locations, characters and missions, kept being added without much trouble. Families grew and soon, the NPCs started to develop sentience.
They all understood that their world needed to be taken care of carefully, keeping an eye out for any glitch that could damage it. Now, this broad cast of colorful characters spend their lives living multiple adventures in this world that doesn't stop growing.
~• The Realms •~
Map Concept Art:
The Main Grounds 🎪👣
Human-like creatures made of rubber inhabit what one was the starting point of everything. Most human-like inhabitants are clown themed, wearing colorful combinations and displaying extremely pale skins with iconic make up. Most houses now look like circus tents.
As the starting point of everything, Humanoid Clowns are usually skilled on all kinds of areas, nowadays though they are mostly recognized by their sharp communication abilities.
Feeding habits: Regular Foods and Water
Pomni and Kaufmo inhabit this realm
Woodland Kingdom 🌲🪵
Wood made toys inhabit this prosperous Nation. Although wooden puppets and dolls can be found, the biggest demographic group this realm are Chess-like inhabitants.
Trees on Woodland are abundant since most of this realm is forest surrounded. They provide wood for construction to other realms and are knowledgeable on the matter. Woodland has the widest insect population.
Feeding habits: Wood and Tree Sap
Kinger and Queenie inhabit this realm
The Great Cartoon Plains 🌽🚜
Probably the biggest biome and realm of all. Here cartoonish anthropomorphic animals made out of rubber inhabit the plains. Great weather, excellent soil, and wide terrains, The Great Plains is the hostess of the biggest agricultural production that feeds most realms.
Most families that inhabit this place farm and mine for a living. They provide the raw materials that sustain the rest of the world. They have great resistance and their ATP (Energy) lasts the longest.
Feeding habits: Regular Foods and Water.
Jax inhabits this realm
Raggedy Village 🧸🧵🪡
A village with a welcoming vibe, Raggedy Village is probably one of the safest and calmest realms. Rag dolls, plushies, fabric puppets inhabit this place in big teapot looking houses. They are usually very kind and willing to teach.
Raggedy villagers excel at the refining of cotton and fibers, as well as the art of sewing and designing everything from carpets and curtains to clothes, hair bowties and shoes. Raggedy village is the biggest exporter of clothes and fabric.
Feeding habits: Gossypium and Sweet Tea
Ragatha inhabits this realm
Puzzle City 🧩🎲
Tall, noisy and at times confusing, Puzzle City occupies this place on the list. Wacky and colorful, Puzzle City owns the most abstract and ingenious buildings and transport mechanisms. Their citizens are not any different.
Often called "The Geometrics" citizens of the city are plastic and are usually composed of geometric shapes that can be rearranged. Geometrics are especially good at architectural engineering and design, and are by nature bright in color and personality...with a few exceptions..
Feeding habits: No food is needed for survival
Zooble and Orbsman inhabit this realm
Stone Temples 🎭🎨
Special for being home of NPCS originally designed to be provoked enemies. The Stone temples are clean, polished, resistant and often, artsy. They display beautiful designs and paintings, and with reason.
Often called the porcelains, the inhabitants of this complex are artistic and emotional souls, and excel in every form of art, from painting, sculpting, dancing, music, and theater. Most porcelains have a distinctive physiology: Mask faces with light ribbon bodies.
Feeding habits: Minerals and Gossypium
Gangle inhabits this realm
Candy Island 🍭🍮
The most distant territory, Candy Island feels like a fever dream without a set time period. The name says it all, an island of the size of Australia where everything is made out of every type of candy imagined, including their people.
Lolli citizens, cake fellas, and gummy lads are just a few examples, they are often highly energetic and sweet. Most desserts found in any other realm most likely came from Candy Island.
Feeding habits: Regular desserts and raw sugar
Loolilalu, Gummigoo, Max and Chad inhabit this realm
The Amazing Digital Academia 🪄🔮
A wide academia with a fundamental purpose: Sustain the world they all live in. throughout a pre-crafted magic system, the characters can make use of almost the same abilities that Caine possesses. Although not quite as easily.
What we might know as coding, for them is magic. Being able to manipulate reality and spawn new creations was necessary for the expansion, operation and preservation of this little world.
Here, students learn everything they need to know in order to maintain and expand this beautiful world. Alongside coding, characters study whatever discipline they want to master.
All characters previously mentioned attend as students and teachers
Uniform Concept Art:
~• Families and Births •~
Each type of NPC presents a different type of reproduction. No genitalia is present on any of them [exception of Humans and anthropomorphic animals] the game recognizes the baby making process and starts the NPC's corresponding process to spawn a new baby. Different types of NPCS can result in interesting combinations and character designs
Rubber Animals 🐣
Humans and anthropomorphic animals have probably the simplest birth process. As stated before, these characters are the only ones in possession of genitalia as we know it. Regular pregnancies and Births take place. the game is also able to recognize when general intimacy is taking place. If both characters desire to have a baby, an immediate fertilization will take place.
Babies are raised by their "biological" families and it is possible to identify the character's ancestry based on code patterns
PD: Due to the censoring mechanics, Genitalia only appears during the intimacy acts. these intimacy acts can only be fulfilled when the erogenous zones are being covered, either by clothing or darkness.
Chess Pieces ♟️
Chess pieces do not reproduce, but spawn from flowers instead. Each type of piece spawns on its own recurrence, pawns spawn with the most frequency. Knights and Bishops spawn moderately, Queens spawn with the least frequency. Every 20 years, the new Queen must choose a lover to turn them into the new King. The new couple will replace the formers.
Although the Queen is the strongest type of piece because of her extensive knowledge and her innate role, it is extremely important for the King to stay alive. Queens bond deeply with their partners, if the King dies, so can the Queen from a broken heart.
Geometrics • ZOOBS 🧩
Probably one of the most peculiar spawning processes. It all begins in the ZOOB Factory where limbless babies are created. The head carries the consciousness of the new being. Both the head and the body grow, but the limbs don't.
Parents get a new baby ZOOB from the factory, and they add small limbs that suit the baby. As the baby grows, the limbs are constantly exchanged from bigger ones.
Where do the baby limbs come from? They can be bought, but most of the time these baby limbs are regular limbs that were worn by other family members. They have been shrunk and passed down to the new baby.
When the ZOOB is grown they keep getting regular sized hand-me-downs from family members. When a family member has passed away, ZOOBS who have inherited their pieces and established a close relationship with them can still hear their voices.
Porcelains 🎭
Theater porcelains have a very interesting way to reproduce. When a pair of Porcelains desire to conceive, both partners wrapp around eachother, and join the very end of their torso ribbon. When a female porcelain conceives a baby, extra layers of ribbon start forming in the inside of their ribbon body loop. Their body now looks like a cocoon, with the little baby growing inside.
In the last couple of months, the mom enters a state of deep sleep. She wraps around herself, and won't open nor wake up till the end of the pregnancy. When the baby is ready, she unwraps, revealing a new baby porcelain. They are extremely small in size, and are born in tragedy.
Mixed intimacy 🍹
Sometimes, different kinds of NPCS desire to have a babies or fulfill these intimacy acts for mere pleasure. All characters have built in them a denominated Love Zones. Two characters with widely different body constructions can still feel pleasure but putting their love zone into contact. The game will also recognize this as an intimacy act, and if both parties desire a baby, the corresponding partner will be fertilized automatically.
~• Audience Boundaries •~

Final menu design
At the beginning of this term I thought that creating our own website portfolio would be really intimidating and difficult. However, out of all of the project this term this is the one I have found the most interesting and easy to create. Knowing the style I usually design in and the platform I wanted to create visually has helped guide me through this process.
My designs and work are very illustrative and I knew I wanted my visual identity to have the same approach. I feel that I have been able to create a cohesive online identity that is easily navigated with lots of visuals yet still easily legible. Making sure all the project icons were the same size and the typography was all cohesive really helped with this. Not only did I manage to create a website portfolio I also managed to create an identity on instagram to go with it.
I found that wordpress was pretty easy to navigate once you knew the basics however, there were a couple of issues with design. When trying to layout content in the same box items couldn’t be placed under each other. I had to edit the appearance and placement with most items to make sure that when looked at through the front end it was laid out cohesively and legible. However, from the back end this created a mess that was not easily guided through and kept glitching.
Overall I am really happy with the online identity that I was able to create. There are a few things that I would like to adjust and add with time. A lot of these being animations and interactive details that I will be teaching myself how to create and add in. I would also like to complete the original animation for my logo design and have it as the opening to my website.

What’s exactly up with Ice-e?
Ice-e is a mascot of a pizza place that first appears on a word search for a puzzle in undertale and the pizza place is then introduced as a place in deltarune’s home town
What seems to be just a funny looking mascot for a pizza place, there seems to be a lot of odd things going on with this mascot
Starting from Undertale:
The ice-e word search first appears in a puzzle set up by Sans and a fun event has the word search changed to have another snowman with the label of “Nightmare”
Another fun event has Alphys making a call to order pizza only to mess up and send an image of a anime cat girl instead
Sans, Alphys, and the fun events are those that are closely connected to a certain man who speaks in hands
Likewise while ice-e is a mascot for pizza place, the pizza place does not exist in undertale and only appears in deltarune
Thus Alphys’s phone call likely isn’t the same Alphys in undertale whose own place show no indication of any pizza whatsoever but rather the Alphys in deltarune since the pizza place only exists in deltarune’s home town
Next up is from deltarune
One of the rooms in hometown’s hospital has a pain scale that uses ice-e as a model
Pain is often brought up with the certain man who speaks in hands: the pain flavor with option to accept possible pain and seizure in gonermaker, an ut error message of “the pain itself is reason why” and memory heads with lorem text that translates to “The pain itself teaches”
The only other character that mentions pain is Spamton with “The smooth taste of neo, “wake up and taste the pain””
A puzzle in chapter 2 has the answer from same ice-e word search and the puzzle’s changes to ice-e icon then then glitches out when completed,
The same puzzle also has a chance to emit out the similar sound to Sans’s text grunt
Burgerpants or Pizzapants calls the pizza place as hell which the only other characters to ever mention hell are Sans, Jevil, and Spamton
He then mentions to Kris to “Enjoy your freedom while it lasts” and there’s how freedom is a recurring thing with the secret bosses
There’s graffiti in an alleyway at hometown that depicts ice-e next to an image of everyman, an enigmatic strange entity that first appears in reaper bird’s attack in undertale and then appears in Jevil’s attack to Queen’s attack in deltarune
Toby once made a joke in the deltarune livestream that ice-e pizza place’s lair is apparently feels like a nightmare world where everything is just a bit off
What’s up with this silly looking mascot of a pizza place that is connected with the certain man who speaks in hands and his associates both in undertale and deltarune anyways? Why is a pizza place mascot of all things has all of this connections?

Goretober 2022 Day 21: Discovery
Another late post because we got caught up and lost track of time.
Mitchie(4) has really been enjoying being plugged into the laptop. A lot. It’s been looking through the files Mitch(6) had saved on it and ‘talking’ to me about them by opening and editing text documents. It’s really different from the prompts and choices we usually talk through. I’ve been teaching it about the picture files it’s asked me about, and it’s making all kinds of new connections and discoveries. All it knew before this was what was already in its program- objects and actions were just icons and words to it before this, but now, I’m showing it what those words and icons actually mean.
What is this picture of?
That’s a forest with a mountain in the background. It’s a place outside with a lot of plants and animals.
What is this picture of?
That’s a stack of pancakes. It’s a food that tastes sweet.
What is this picture of?
That’s a couple hugging. People sometimes wrap their arms around each other to show affection.
Before, ‘forest and mountain’ was a background image option. ‘Pancakes’ was an item that made its hunger bar go down. ‘Hug’ was an action with a lot of affection points. It now has images, and me to explain what they are.
I’m starting to understand just how ignorant and isolated it was before this. Until a couples days ago, it had never seen, or heard me. It had only known me as a name, and all it knew about me was the choices I made about and for it. Now, it was learning outside its parameters for the first time, and it wanted to know everything I could teach it. Each question has led to more questions, more conversation, more interaction, more affection points. Its stats are all maxed out. It is so ‘happy,’ it chirps and sings for hours at a time. After a while of answering its endless questions, it dawned on me that it knew something I had never told it about.
How did you know that image was of me? The file is named ‘Video Game Mitch’, not ‘Sally’.
Because I see me, and I see Sally. The image I found looks like me and Sally. It is of me and Sally.
You see me?
Yes! I hear Sally, too. I see and hear Sally now. 📷
The laptop has a built-in webcam and microphone, and I’d used it to take a picture of us the second day the glitch had me ‘here’ with Mitch(4). By connecting Mitch(4) with it, I’d given it sight and hearing, and I was the first thing it ever saw or heard. I hadn’t realized it had been watching me since.
Do you like seeing me?
Yes. I love seeing Sally! Sally is my favorite thing to see. 👀💕
Even after seeing all the other things I’ve shown you?
Yes! I like seeing the other things Sally has shown me. I love seeing Sally. Sally is my favorite thing to look at. I am happy I can see so I can look at Sally. 📸👀💘💘💘
It made this gif with some of the images I’d explained to it, and its own version of a drawing Mitch(6) had saved on the laptop. I gotta say, it's really sweet to see us together like that. It's kind of like how I'd imagined the two of us together before... 💙

Dimension Traveller Headcanons | Hunter [Golden Guard]
requested by @serenathewolf2
reader can be read as neutral but was requested as female
I struggled a lot with this set of headcanons, so the quality of this may have been impacted by that. So this will likely be reworked in the future.
reader is written through the lens of british fan experiences, so some things may not be necessarily generalisable (if so let me know)
After a long week of strain and school, all you really wanted to do was relax in of your tv and rewatch one of your new favourite series; The Owl House. As of late it become something of a comfort show - but, much to your vocal dismay, it was refusing to play; leaving the screen glitched and flickering whenever you attempted to click on its icon. Though after a while of tinkering with the screen and spamming the buttons on your remote, the programme finally started to play - flickering in and out of blackness before a shrill, loud noise rang out from the tv, knocking you out cold before you could try to stop it.
—
When you finally woke up you were almost blinded by the bright midday sun, squinting through your exhaustion and growing migraine to get your bearings - and very quickly realising that you were in a very different place.
You were laying on a lightly worn mattress, your head resting on a plush pillow and your eyes covered with a damp cloth
To your right was a balcony full of flourishing plants (though you couldn’t recognise them through your pain)
To your left was a mat and tray, itself covered with fresh pastries and a warm drink that smelled like tea - and that tasted like heaven when you strained to take a sip
Whoever had found you seemed kind, at least, but you couldn’t help but feel slightly unsettled at how you could have possibly gotten out of your room
Though, thankfully, you didn’t have to wait for much longer before you were greeted by a kind, deep voice
“Oh dear, Willow the human is awake!”
… human?
Willow?
It sounded familiar yet your mind refused to accept the possibility until the young witch hurried into the room and took your cloth from you, ringing it out and placing it in fresh, cool water
“Hey, how are you feeling? You looked pretty hurt when I found you.”
And that was the start of a very interesting, if slightly awkward, conversation wherein you carefully danced around the issue of your entrance to this world whilst Willow and her fathers carefully tended to your injuries.
“Does it hurt when I touch here?”
No, thank you for asking
“Do you remember how you got here? The portal got destroyed months ago…”
I’m sorry, no I don’t
“Would you like some more tea?”
Yes, please, as long as it’s no bother
All in all, they were all incredibly polite and hospitable throughout your recovery:
Willow would bring you her school books and teach you about the magic, culture and history of the Boiling Isles with a warm smile (filling in many gaps that the show had left in your mind)
She’d stay up with you (sharing her room with you throughout your recovery) and talk to you about her day, school, her friends and even ask you about the human world - not caring about your vagueness and passing it off as a result of your injury
Her parents gave you a roof over your head and plentiful fresh, handmade meals that kept you feeling well fed and, oddly enough, accepted despite your differences from the other residents of the Isle (not that you saw them, being confined to their home throughout your stay because of your injuries)
She even introduced you to her closest friends, Luz and Gus, very briefly through the medium of her crystal ball - which led to a number of interesting and fun conversations that were somewhat brief but all equally insightful into the world around you
And Luz was, naturally, quite relieved to know that she wasn’t completely alone anymore (even if your experiences of the human world didn’t match here)
Regardless of that small discrepancy, you still deeply enjoyed your chats with everyone and looked forward to being able to meet with them once you recovered - which seemed like it wouldn’t be too long as all the ointments and potions you’d been given were starting to do their job
—
It only took you a few short weeks to be back on your feet and back to normal, meaning you were finally able to accompany Willow as she went about her life and meet everyone she told you about (always wearing a hood or other concealing garment, of course).
Of everyone, you and Luz clicked the fastest and seemed to get along the best because of how similar you were in your experience - similar enough for you to almost want to tell her the truth, but something told you it might not be the best idea
She welcomed you into her small class and eagerly taught you all the glyphs she knew, her lessons oddly in depth and useful as you made an array of careful notes
Gus almost immediately started grilling about your life in the human world, comparing it to what he’d learned from Luz and excitedly exclaiming about how “everyone in the human appreciation club will love this!”
Amity was much more cautious around you, almost unsure of how to react and not entirely trusting what you said (not that she was wrong not to) but still treating you with respect as a friend of her “awesome girlfriend” - especially after you commented on how much of an adorable couple they were
Eda was skeptical initially but quickly took to you with open arms and plentiful teasing remarks - practically adopting you as she quizzed you about your time in recovery at Willow’s home
King took much longer to take to you, and rightfully so, but he still treated you mostly cordially for Luz’s sake (with a number of sarcastic comments and jokes at your expense of course - but that was a small price to pay to spend time in this amazing place)
Hooty was… well he was exactly as one would expect; excitable, energetic, eccentric and happy to see you… and loud
Very very loud
Lilith was incredibly polite towards you, but still very distant despite your attempts to get close to her (which she did seem to appreciate in a way)
In a word, you all respected each other as fellow students and gradually started to learn how to trust one another over the course of several weeks
As summer faded into autumn, you found yourself surrounded by a number of new friends and family - people that you wanted to protect and that would protect you in turn. However, not all things are meant to last and your peace was soon destroyed by the appearance of a certain member of the emperor’s coven at Eda’s doorstep.
You knew that they’d already met him, with Luz and Amity frequently recalling their own encounters with him - each told with varying levels of ire, disgust and disappointment
But, still, you hadn’t expected your weekly call with the Owl House residents to be interrupted by his appearance - unceremoniously announced by a chorus of surprised exclamations and Luz’s half worried, half scared voice
“Hunter, what are you doing here? What happened to you?”
Well that probably wasn’t good; not that you had the time to question it before she apologetically and hurriedly ended the conversation to tend to their unexpected visitor
Though that was probably for the best as you’d made a great effort to stay away from the “main plot” out of the fear that you’d make things worse - so maybe you should collectively leave Luz and Eda to deal with that particular… issue
But they wouldn’t let you hide forever and, eventually, Luz messed up and left a call going when she went out to run errands - something you didn’t notice until you heard a distinctly male voice speak up about something you couldn’t quite make out.
The conversation was incredibly awkward and stilted, relying on your own knowledge of Hunter and his desire to redeem himself by gaining the trust of Luz’s friends - and you just so happened to fit that description
Though with time you became less and less awkward around one another and, after a few dozen brief but decently insightful conversations, eventually came to call each other “friends”
By the time you’d been talking for a few weeks you were already starting to consider him a close friend - a notion that was seemingly reciprocated as you agreed to finally meet up in person and accompany him as he ran errands for Eda in Bonesborough
The conversation is light and pleasant, full of inside jokes and genuine compliments that leave you flushed and grinning from ear to ear - all whilst he grins and laughs in return (almost as though he’s hoping you won’t notice the red tint at the tips of his ears)
As you walked you didn’t realise just how close you’d gotten until your hands were casually brushing against each other and you were forcing down any feelings that could jeopardise your friendship - until he grabbed your hand on his own and smiled crookedly at you before looking away and sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand
It was nice, comforting even, to spend time with just him - even if you were just out shopping
That outing spiralled into something more serious, with you and Hunter going on weekly dates to test the waters for just shy of two months before you decided to take the dive and adopt the labels of “lovers” - though not without struggle or great contemplation. You even went on dates inside, sharing you passions for various other shows (excusing those that Luz didn’t know by saying they were exclusive to your region or came out after she left)
It was a relationship built on reluctant puppy love, wherein you both trusted each other deeply yet were reluctant to be completely vulnerable and open with each other
Hunter because of his trauma
And you because of the potential repercussions that could result from you being honest about how you came here
But as more and more time passed, and as your relationship became more set in stone, the guilt began to eat at you
Even if you would never go home, they deserved to know the truth - especially if it could give them the upper hand against Belos
So, after a week of hyping yourself up, you asked everyone to meet at the Owl House and you sat them down to calmly tell them the truth of your origins.
Naturally, they didn’t believe you at first - not until you gave them your phone and told them about things that you shouldn’t have known
Then the questions started
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“How did you get here then?”
“What happened to…”
You answered what you could, but you didn’t know everything and it left you all more stressed than content
Eda and Lilith had fallen silent, almost forlorn and guilty as they mulled over what you said
Luz was stammering, barely able to form a coherent sentence as she scrolled through her character profile - a very upset and angry Amity sat beside her (even if she hadn’t spoken yet, you knew she didn’t trust you completely anymore)
Willow looked slightly crestfallen but still smiled at you and hugged you - insisting that she was just happy you told her now (but you knew it took a lot for her to do that)
King was angry, and rightfully so, stomping around and accusing you of working with the emperor and using them for your own benefit
Gus was asking the most questions - leaving you with a lingering feeling of guilt whenever you couldn’t answer him
And Hunter…
Hunter walked out of the house, his face stoic and not even looking at you as he left - but you couldn’t even be angry with him; he had the right to be angry with you, after all
After your confession it took a while for them to talk to you properly and genuinely again - with only Willow, Luz and Gus being willing to stay in contact with you. Though, even then, it was a very slow and careful process for them to trust you like they did before.
Eda was the first to forgive you, with Lilith following closely behind; recalling their own pasts and recognising your reasoning behind keeping your origins from people
Hooty didn’t really distrust you at any point, but you never really spoke
Amity was next, approaching you with caution and suspicion before insisting that you never lie to her like that again - that she understood your reasoning but you should have told them all earlier
Then was King, who looked at you with a simmering anger but who recognising that you were protecting them - only really approaching you after Luz and Eda welcomed you back into their home
Hunter was the very last to speak to you again, starting off by being short with you and avoiding you at all costs before slowly starting to converse with you again
He still loved you, but he didn’t trust you like he did before - in his mind you should have told him immediately and you had plenty of chances to be honest earlier
So it would take a lot of work to get back to a place where you could be together again
But once you start working with them to take down the emperor, and you start spending more time with Hunter, it would give you the chance to build up a more trusting and open bond with him. And when you get back together, your relationship is stronger together and you’re able to read each other with ease - not that you’d ever lie again, he’s just a bit more cautious and observant than before.
In short, once you and Hunter slowly rekindle your relationship it would be significantly stronger than before and your honesty would bring you closer together. It would be built on a foundation of friendship, honesty and trust that would allow you to be so much more open to one another (both in regards to intimacy and general conversation).

The Pull of Autumn - Outlaw Empire - featuring Mark Stewart, Adrian Sherwood, & Doug Wimbish (!)
Art rock collective The Pull of Autumn presents their new single 'Outlaw Empire' featuring Mark Stewart, founding member of the legendary UK band The Pop Group, and remixed by the esteemed Adrian Sherwood. The first taste of the band's fourth album 'Beautiful Broken World', The Pull of Autumn mastermind Daniel Darrow incorporates elements of granular glitch synthesis to the track, the end result being a daring mixture of dub, jazz, spoken word and electronic music.
Long wishing to collaborate with Mark Stewart, the opportunity finally arose for Darrow thanks to Scott Crow of Emergency Heart Records, through which both Darrow and Stewart have released music. Fortunately Stewart, known for his experimental postpunk-jazz explorations and his production and remixes for such artists as The Fall, The Slits and Nine Inch Nails, thought it was a great idea.
Also featuring bassist Doug Wimbish (Living Colour, Tackhead and sessional musician for The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Depeche Mode, Sugarhill Gang and James Brown), this track was given the golden remix treatment by the legendary Adrian Sherwood, English record producer and owner of the famed On-U-Sound Records, the first label to experiment with early dub reggae music using echo, reverb and delay techniques. Mixing dub with other forms of electronic music, Sherwood has created remixes for Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Skinny Puppy and Sinead O' Connor.
'Beautiful Broken World' is an ambitious 15-track undertaking that began in early 2020 and involves a number of iconic artists. They include Philip Parfitt of The Perfect Disaster, Stuart Moxham of Rough Trade postpunk band Young Marble Giants, Luke Skyscraper James of I.R.S. recording artist FASHION and John Neff, who has contributed to multiple David Lynch films and is also a member of David Lynch’s Blubob.

Thoughts on... some funny games
[no spoilers to speak of]
Thoughts on Lair of the Clockwork God
The wisdom of the gaming cognoscenti insists that comedy is hard to do in video games. Having grown up with Monkey Island and Zork, I've never found this convincing. But one true thing is this: it's hard to write about comedic games. The ineffability of humor is hard enough to describe in less-interactive media; I can't even explain to my partner why Gretchen saying "I met January Jones once!" on You're the Worst busted me up, and they were sitting right next to me when she said it. Throw in the "you had to be there" nature of the player's active participation and I lose myself in a cornfield. The thing I found hilarious might come a beat to early for you, or not at all, or not be funny in text like it is in gameplay.
Why did I like Lair of the Clockwork God? It made me laugh.
The premise and particulars are a lot of "that could go either way." Ben and Dan - stars of Ben There, Dan That and Time Gentleman, Please! - have returned. Ben is still an adventure game star, but Dan has adopted platforming mechanics in an attempt to get with the times. So playing the game involves switching back and forth between a character who can leap across canyons but can't pick up items or talk to people, and one who can combine inventory but can't climb over a 3-pixel rock.
Does that sound potentially funny? Potentially grating? Yes to both!
The plot centers around our heroes trying to save the world from several simultaneous apocalypses and having to teach human emotions to a supercomputer in order to do so. (Don't ask.) These means, rather like Ben There, Dan That, traipsing through a number of fantasy worlds (read: computer simulations) until the correct emotion is provoked. This requires cross-genre cooperation: finding ways to get Ben to areas only Dan can access, getting Dan new power ups by combining objects in Ben's inventory (an act Dan insists on calling "crafting").
The best bits are at these intersections, when Dan's platforming is the puzzliest and Ben's puzzles take advantage of Dan's skills. Periodically the game gives you a Dan-centric platforming gauntlet the controls are NOT precise nor pleasant enough for, or a Ben-only moon logic puzzle that leaves you googling the walkthrough.
But I liked it! A lot. The genre-hopping seems to have invigorated the developers, Ben Ward and Dan Marshall. I discussed my favorite joke in Ben There, Dan That (in what is probably the least popular video I've ever made that wasn't asking for money), but was also dismayed that the game was never that clever again. But this one is, several times over! Progression here involves cheating your way to a better respawn zone, goofing around in game menus, exploiting "glitches," exiting out and loading up entirely other games. There is a lot of poking and prodding at what a game of this nature can or should be.
But, honestly? The only real selling point is... it was funny. The humor is as anarchic and metatextual as in previous titles, but it feels good-natured in a way BT,DT didn't. And there are, here and there, little bits of meat on its bones - the characters wondering if, as a couple thirtysomething white guys, the world hasn't left them behind, no longer comfortable with the juvenile humor of their youth but not really understanding the youth of today, but having not yet fully escaped the mentalities they used to hold. (There's an unspoken humor to Dan's idea of "modern" gameplay being 2D platforming mechanics, especially at a time when adventure games are significantly more popular than on his last outing; this is a good joke whether or not it's intentional.)
Also: this game contains the most poignant urinating-on-a-grave puzzle in gaming history, and you may quote me on that.
Having finished it months ago, I can't even remember what all the gags were that tickled me at the time. Comedy fades from memory faster than drama or frustration. Mostly I just remember having a good time.
Thoughts on The Darkside Detective
Here's a hook: sometime after the mayhem ends in Ghostbusters, The Exorcist, Evil Dead 2, or some other paranormal blockbuster that you watched over and over in the 90's until the VHS wore out, some overworked detective has to come into your town and piece together what the hell happened.
This is his story.
It's a good gag, and the devs wring every drop from it. Existing in a world where these things are commonplace and you have to fit them into some notion of "police procedure" is just funny. Like, it's one thing to have a running gag where you keep observing the moon in outdoor scenes, commenting, with increasing hostility, that its behavior is suspicious (it has been present at multiple crime scenes); it's a slightly different thing when, given the things you've encountered, the moon being the Big Bad is actually somewhat possible.
The game is divided into six main cases and three bonus DLC missions (which come included in the base game now, and the third of which is the proper ending/setup for the sequel). You are the cop tasked to deal with The Other Side - and, when The Other Side bleeds into our own world, its cops have to deal with you. You have a sidekick with a mental maturity of about 6, which I guess makes you the straight man. (You have to grade on a curve to find a straight man in this game.) And you solve tasks like rounding up escaped gremlins or finding an AWOL lake monster all juxtaposed with mundane problems like inter-office squabbles and having not bought your Christmas presents early enough. It's (pleasantly) lo-res and sparsely isolated, so the dialogue and premise do most of the work, but they are ably up to the task.
The gameplay... not so much. I'm an adventure game lifer, so I can put up with a lot of nonsense. It's mostly straightforward inventory puzzles and occasional minigames. Most of the puzzles are fine enough. As the cases progress, things get more involved, and the DLCs especially involve some awful moon logic. And the minigames are not above using that same jumping peg puzzle you've solved in a dozen other games already. So gameplay ranges from serviceable to irritating, but it mostly exists to string together funny lines and silly images. (Christmas mall elves being secretly in service to Krampus - that's the kind of thing we're talking about here.) You won't feel much guilt for opening up a walkthrough; the puzzles aren't why you're here.
The sequel has just been released, and both games are cheap, so check them out if you feel like smiling.
Thoughts on The Procession to Calvary
It's rare for a game to be hilarious to look at.
The Procession to Calvary takes its name from the Bruegel painting. It also takes all it's graphics from Renaissance oil paintings, and the designer delights in making famously rendered heroes and religious icons steal, stab, fart, and swear.
A strong Terry-Gilliam-with-After-Effects vibe is what we're describing.
You play as a lady knight from a war that's just ended, which sucks for you because, in this age of peace, you're no longer authorized to kill. And killing's, like, you're whole thing. But the one person your new, pacifist king wouldn't stop you from killing is the warlord you just deposed, who fled to the South. So you embark on a nonsensical journey to seek out the one human on Earth you are authorized to kill, because killing is just The. Best. Ever.
Of the three games we're discussing, this is the most overtly cheeky, and, at times, the most scatological. I could've done with a bit less scatology, if I'm being honest, but the cheekiness is very winning. As with Lair of the Clockwork God, a lot of jokes could go either way - a field of people being tortured and a woman on a blanket selling commemorative torture merch could be painfully try-hard. But something about the victims being seemingly everyone ever crucified or broken on the wheel in a famous painting, and having them writhe on their crosses in a way that is both gruesome and goofy, and having a cacophonous soundtrack of their screams and moans that you will now imagine every time you look at one of those elegantly elegiac paintings from now on... it works. That the music score is being played by an extremely jaunty piper who dances behind you just out of sword's reach as you traverse the field pushes it over the top.
Oh, and the puzzles, while never hair-pullingly obtuse, will leave you stumped at times. Push past that to get the proper ending, but, if you're sick of trying, you can, at any point, just start stabbing your way through problems. Which, again: it takes a very deft touch to make "protagonist resorts to violence" actually funny rather than lazy and obvious. And maybe, in another game, the perfect timing of every animation, the clever quips, the careful contrast of cathedrals and high-society music halls with gleeful sword-swinging wouldn't be enough. But something about it being frickin' Renaissance paintings carries it the last mile.
This is probably the basest game of the three, but it's also the one that made me giggle the most. Having a BFA that required several art history classes may have something to do with it. But check this thing out.
