#glimmer and catra are both chaotic neutral

This is a very interesting post, OP.
Here are my takes as a megafan of Glimmer and Entrapta:
I disagree on your take with Glimmer because while her presence peters off in season 5, it's made abundantly clear she's never making the same mistakes again.
Take "Horde Prime", "Corridors", "Stranded" - the CANON version of the episode, Sweary just covered this in their comic sketch but I disagree heavily with their interpretation- and Glimmer exhibits emotional growth.
She starts reaching out and empathising with her sworn enemy, she is ready for them all to risk their lives saving Catra (something her grief-strucken s4 self would NEVER agree to), and after a bit of awkwardness and fear when she's first on the space ship, she becomes emotionally supportive to her friends. Namely Bow can't process his own feelings about her, so she tells him it's okay, and then later she's always helping calm down Adora telling her to give Catra space and time.
I think that's evidence of huge change. Is it proportional to what she did wrong? Maybe not but what can even fix that other than just trying to be there for your friends?
I disagree on your interpretation of Entrapta because while she doesn't need to change much, she does change in lots of little ways. Most primarily she's conscious of other people in her own space and is thinking of them.
Granted this started with Hordak, in particular when she became conscious he was in a great deal of pain and would stop what she was doing to help him. But it's extended and realized in s5 to her tracking down her friends to tell them they're in danger, helping Tallstar up, making space suits for people, that whole moment of empathy for Catra, and you cpuld argue that sure it's not a redemption arc and instead it's Entrapta self-actualizing, but I think it's worth talking about in terms of her "villain actions" being her disregard for the planet or the safety of herself and others. She's grown!
And finally on Adora, no, I hard disagree that she had a redemption arc, rather, Adora TRIED to have a redemption arc when she'd made zero bad choices in her life other than being kidnapped as a child... it's such an interesting thing to me that Adora thinks she needs to repent for being successfully brainwashed into the Horde, Adora's punishing herself on behalf of the ENTIRE Horde, meanwhile Entrapta joins them like theyre neighbours who offered her sugar lmao. Which on the face value would make Entrapta seem super evil but she's not. The difference is Entrapta's a chaotic neutral free agent who knows what makes her happy and doesn't care for the wider stakes, while Adora is imprisoned by her own guilt complex and hero identity, always putting everyone else before herself and never thinking about her own wants.
I agree with all your other takes, Hordak and Scorpia don't get redemption arcs because they have literally only just started discovering themselves, Nevermind repenting for their crimes they did while in a cult!
Though I think both characters experience a personal redemption of some kind. For Scorpia, it's finally leaving the Horde, and for Hordak it's throwing Prime to his death... it was significant for their own values, if nobody else's!!!
There’s a post I’d like to make about literary analysis of themes in SPoP, but as I developed it I realized it depended upon my interpretation of certain character arcs.
And before I proceed, I want to get some opinions on if my interpretation of these arcs at least is supported in the text (that is, people can disagree with me, but recognize I at least am not making things up).
For the sake of sanity, I’m going to go with “The show tried to do this, and evidence exists” and not “The show succeeded,” because of the obvious elephant in the room.
SPoP and Redemption Character Arcs
My criteria make most sense when you see it in action, so let’s go.
Adora
Fulfills a Redemption Arc, secondary to related arc about Self-Sacrifice
Identifies behaviors that needs changing
Show has examples of attempts at applying behavior changes
Accompanied by a change in Self-Identity
Redemption Arc minimized by the fact her “redemption” is based on behaviors made under false information
Mara
Identical points as Adora
Catra
Fulfills a Redemption Arc
Identifies behaviors that need changing
Show has examples of attempts at applying behavior changes
Accompanied by a change in Self-Identity
Glimmer
Aborted Redemption Arc
Insufficient examples in Season 5 to support a completion of Behavior and Identity changes
Instead most closely resembles a reversion to previous characterization
Shadow Weaver
No Redemption Arc, but heavily open to character interpretation
No identification of behaviors that need changing on-screen, nor accompanying Identity change (latter open to character interpretation)
Show has examples of applying behavior change
Angella
No Redemption Arc, due to insufficient evidence shown on screen of need
Identifies behaviors that need changing
Show has examples of attempts at applying behavior change
Accompanied by an analysis of Self-Identity
Fails as an Arc because Angella’s perceived need for Redemption is a surprise to the audience; evidence shown on screen does not prepare audience for the interpretation “I need to redeem my inaction”
Light Hope
Fulfilled Redemption Arc
Analysis of Self-Identity
Show has examples of attempts at applying behavior change
Behavior changes are directly in response to behaviors being Redeemed
Redemption Arc minimized by the fact the “redemption” is in response to behaviors performed out of Light Hope’s control (due to programming)
Hordak
No Redemption Arc, completes a Quest for Identity Arc
Analysis and change of Self-Identity
No identification of behaviors that need changing regarding Redemption, nor behavior changes specific to that Arc
Scorpia
No Redemption Arc
Analysis of Self-Identity
No behavior change; performs similar acts of support to both groups allied with
Entrapta
Identical points as Scorpia
Horde Trio
Same points as Scorpia, but even less evidence
So, what are people’s thoughts about my analysis?
Where am I wrong, what evidence do I miss?
(The greater analysis includes a discussion on separating Self-Sacrifice from Redemption, and that discussion I feel helps to clarify the points I want to make for Queen Angella’s Arc, which I personally feel is unfinished and needs closure.)

Unpopular opinion, but...
Double Trouble is chaotic evil.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore them and am thrilled they were added to the show. This isn’t a hate post, but I keep seeing DT being categorized as chaotic neutral and this just feels wrong to me?
To clarify, I’m using the original context of the alignment chart, which is basically for establishing a character’s a) respect for rules and b) tendency to behave selflessly vs. selfishly when their own interests are at odds with the greater good. If by “chaotic neutral” you mean DT loves causing chaos for their own amusement and is not really aligned with the Rebellion or the Horde (being a mercenary working for the highest bidder), then I get your point, but that’s not what chaotic neutral actually means.
Double Trouble is definitely chaotic, they don’t give a shit about the rules, but their alignment isn’t neutral. Glimmer and Catra are better examples of chaotic neutrals. Glimmer tries to be a good person and cares very much about right and wrong but has a tendency to think and behave selfishly (for instance, focusing on her own hurt feelings at Princess Prom instead of trying to support Bow making new connections, her blindness to humanity when dealing with Horde soldiers, threatening to kill Catra in 2x02 then deadass leaving her to die in a fire in 4x04, confining Adora and Bow in the castle because she’s pissed they are trying to overrule her).
Meanwhile, Catra tries to be a bad person and can indeed be very selfish, as she really only tries to protect her own inner circle (Adora and Shadow Weaver to start, Scorpia and Entrapta later) but her kind heart often causes her to behave selflessly for the people she cares about (for instance, lying to SW about Adora going AWOL and then about her being She-Ra, turning down Scorpia’s jailbreak offer, comforting SW [her abuser, don’t forget] when she’s upset and later bringing her her old badge as a sentimental favor, telling Hordak that Entrapta left no files and taking the brunt of his anger instead of blaming Scorpia for damaging the disc).
Both Glimmer and Catra are good examples of selfishness and selflessness warring within the same person, and both are extremely compelling for that reason. Double Trouble is also compelling, but for different reasons - they don’t have that same internal battle happening. Double Trouble always does what’s best for Double Trouble - “It’s not personal, darling, you knew how this worked.” They don’t care if their actions hurt other people, in fact they kind of seem to enjoy it. They’re not as sadistic as Shadow Weaver, but that impulse is there. I doubt DT is the type of person to abuse children for shits and giggles, however, and I am not saying they are a terrible person like SW. All I’m saying is, they’re selfish. The world exists for their own amusement and to validate them and their acting skills, and they will side with whoever offers them what they need most (money from the Horde, then amnesty from the Rebellion) regardless of the wider consequences.
Honestly, Double Trouble is fascinating and absolutely delightful to watch. Being an evil alignment doesn’t mean a character is automatically dislikeable. Anyway, I think maybe we’re hesitating to label this character as evil because they are delightful and a fan favorite, but let’s be real: Double Trouble only cares about Double Trouble, and that’s why they are “neutral” in terms of allegiances. That is the mark of a character with an evil alignment, not what side they are fighting for.
#sorry not sorry?#i know we all love dt but honestly#spop#meta#alignment chart#double trouble#chaotic evil#she ra#she-ra#glimmer#catra#glimmer and catra are both chaotic neutral#i've said it before and i will say it again

(Female) Characters on Valentines Day
(multiple characters) x fem!reader
Agents of SHIELD
Jemma Simmons (neutral good)
would literally plan a month in advance
or forget if she's too wrapped up in work (but apoligizes profusely once she's reminded)
theres no inbetween
give you a very heartfelt gift or something that you've wanted for a while (like a watch you talked about a year ago)
if she could get time off of work, she would take the both of you out for a nice dinner, nothing over the top..just sweet and romantic
the cutest person ever when it comes to the two of you
kisses on the cheek
taking you on a walk through the park
holding your hand
just pure perfection
i love her so much oml
Daisy Johnson (disaster bisexual)
biggest softie
i can just imagine her being all embarrased about pda but absolutely melting when her girlfriend kisses her on the cheek and tells her how much she loves her
chocolate, roses, and stuffed animals
lets be honest, Daisy would do all that really cliche romantic things but pretend like she doesn't care when other people are looking
acts like a badass inhuman but once you pull her in close..mm she's just a big ole teddy bear
a sucker for cuddles and kisses
disaster bisexual (my headcanon is that daisy is bi and no one can tell me otherwise, i mean even chloe said that shes definately had a girlfriend before)
Would most likely leave mission early to spend more time with you (unless she gets injured, then you spend valentines day taking care of her and scolding her on not beig more careful)
Bobbi Morse (sexy glare)
would probably get into an argument abt it ngl
"you spent how much money on me?!"
would have cut lip from misson her and daisy were on (you thought it was hot though so you dont mind)
passionate, steamy, angry/hate sex
would still train/spar with daisy
you would have to pull her away into a janitor closet because damn, she looked good
very sweet afterwards, cuddles for days
Harry Potter
Hermione Granger (attractive google)
very heartfelt gifts
sitting by the black lake with your head in her lap
she's reading a book to you
you're melting because she's playing with your hair at the same time
and that voice
merlin that voice
would make out with you in the restricted section of the library
would send you a valentines by folding the piece of paper to look like a bunny and charming it to hop onto your desk
would give you fresh baked tarts and pumpkin pasties because she knows its your favorite
cuddles for days
forehead, cheek, and shoulder kisses
such a softie
bad at receiving gifts so when you would compliment her, or say a cheesy pick up line, or touch her gently, her face would flush crimson and she would sutter out a thank you
"o- uhm- this is lovely-"
the more steamy part of your gift would come later on that night ;)
Ginny Weasley (badass ginger)
quidditch practice :(
but you wouldnt mind cause she looks hot in her jersey
wouldn't really know what to do cause she grew up with a whole bunch of brothers
"I- erm..got you this"
awkward cutie
but is very confident afterwards
isn't really into the sappy valentines day things but when she is..she goes all out
flowers, chocolates, rose petals, large displays of affection, the works
signature Ginny smile
dom.
Luna Lovegood (on of the only other characters besides ginny that the majority of the fandom agrees is lgbt)
gives you a hand picked boquet of flowers she found in the forest
crystal/wire jewlery
walks in the forest
soft kisses
blushes once you give her the gift you brought
holds your hand/links your pinkies together
tucks a strand of hair behind your ear while smiling
She-Ra
Adora (dumb lesbian/chaotic good)
big ole oblivious softie
"i got you this stuffed animal, scorpia thought you'd like it so i hope she's right"
is a sucker for gentle face caresses and kisses
almost cries when you give her a gift
such a cutie
didn't know what valentines day was until glimmer and bow gave eachother gifts
"why are you guys doing that? is today special?"
"adora, it's valentines day"
"what's that?"
glimmer wants to punch shadow weaver for depriving adora of these experiences
Catra (dumb lesbain x2/lawful evil or lawful neutral later on)
absolutely despises valentines day (once bow and glimmer explained it)
was a softie tho when you gave her a gift
"i got you a gift..or whatever"
"it's not even a big deal"
"this is not because i like you"
but she does like you
alot
acts like she hates the sappy gift you give her but immediately grabs it once you leave

She-Ra S5 E02 - Launch
This post may contain spoilers for the rest of the season, so be aware of that.
- I love how when Entrapta exclaims that Horde Prime’s message is “amazing”, Scorpia’s the only one who doesn’t look angry at all and just gives her this soft understanding smile. Their friendship is so sweet.
- That whole scene with exhausted!Adora is comedy gold. That pained “My body is betraying me!” - I love this dork so much. And Frosta’s “Is she dead?”, Bow freaking out completely, and finally Entrapta’s “But it’s for science!” - Love this whole scene.
- “What are you gonna do with those?” “Punch Horde Prime.” I love Frosta and what a kid she is. Really wish she had gotten to punch Horde Prime.
- Love Scorpia’s impression of Entrapta.
- On a more serious note: I like that the show actually addresses Entrapta’s actions and lets the other princesses be mad at her. She did betray them, build machines to destroy them, and help Hordak build the portal that almost destroyed the universe. Like, I personally love Entrapta, but I’m just glad that this show portrays that your actions have consequences and it makes perfect sense that the others wouldn’t trust her.
- That said, I also want to say a few things in defense of Entrapta: 1. The other princesses could at least acknowledge that they left her behind in the first place. Granted, they thought she was dead, but they could at least address it. So far, the only people who’ve apologized to Entrapta for that were Adora and Bow. 2. I find it a bit hypocritical that the other princesses have a problem with Entrapta, but have completely accepted Scorpia - to the point where they give Entrapta a chance because Scorpia asks them to. Scorpia was a Force Captain in the Horde and their enemy, too. Yes, she’s a nice, likable person, but she also willingly worked for the Horde and helped to attack the other princesses multiple times. Yet they’re completely fine with her now. 3. Some of the other princesses’ criticisms of Entrapta seem to be less about her actions and more about how “weird” she is. The princesses absolutely have a right to be mad at her for what she did, but singling her out for being “weird”/neurodivergent isn’t okay. 4. As Scorpia points out - they really need Entrapta. This entire season demonstrated multiple times that the rebellion would be completely screwed without her.
- That whole scene with Catra watching Glimmer and the clone/Prime catching her - perfectly creepy in every way, love it. Especially the glance between Glimmer and Catra in the end.
- “I need to get close to the spire - to track - the signal.” “Aaah!” Love how Entrapta breaks down her words into a “simple” version for the others.
- UGH, have I mentioned how creepy Horde Prime is? I love it. That scene between him and Glimmer is so perfectly messed up. Also, just the fact that this is how Glimmer finds out her dad is alive... Good on her for standing up to Prime, though!
- “Oh, wow... hellooo. You’re very... technologically advanced.” Love how Entrapta’s just horny on main for robots.
- I do really like the scene where the others finally call Entrapta out. It really shows how hurt they were by everything she’s done, and Entrapta herself also finally understands what she did wrong. I also like the guilty look on Scorpia’s face the whole time - showing that she knows she’s not innocent either. As much as I was kind of rooting for the bad guys in season 2 (because I just love the Super Pal Trio), this scene here is really beautiful. And I think this is what really starts Entrapta’s character development this season. Her whole story from here is about learning to think about her actions first and prioritizing her friends over tech. And as much as I enjoyed her as a Chaotic Neutral who does everthing “for science”, I also really love her development into a Chaotic Good who’s motivated by helping the people she cares about. It’s a beautiful story and a beautiful lesson.
Entrapta: “I’m sorry I’m bad at listening. I’m sorry I mess everything up. But you need this signal and I’m gonna get it for you!”
Mermista: “You’re still trying to get the signal?”
Entrapta: [tears in her eyes] “Of course. Glimmer needs us!”
I’m not crying, you’re crying. That exchange is so beautiful. I love how the others accuse her of not caring and not even knowing who Glimmer is, and then this scene happens and we find out Entrapta cared all along and is just trying to help in the only way she knows how. Beautiful. Also I love the music in that scene. This whole season has so much beautiful music during the most emotional scenes.
- I love how Entrapta slaps herself with her own hair.
- I love the running gag of Mermista knowing the Fright Zone’s sewer system. Also Frosta’s excited “That was so gross!” is adorable.
- Entrapta’s blush and tears when the others tell her they’ve got her back... beautiful.
- Please tell me someone is going to cosplay Micah as She-Ra.
- “See you soon, baby girl.” 😭😭
- The final scene between Glimmer and Catra is is beautiful. Without many words it shows that they’re both at a point where they’ve lost hope and only have each other for company. And I know I keep calling every scene “beautiful”, but... this season is just so good!

Holy shit She Ra season 4
Okay a L O T happened Jesus. Let's try to do this in no particular order, shall we?
Huntara is attractive to all the princesses & it's good. Big beefy badass whom I love.
Mermista eats ice cream in the bath during depressive episodes. Mood.
Shadow Weaver just. Walks around the castle p much freely now? That's a bad idea. Do not like. That said, her garden is both pretty & a source of humor. She's really playing into the 'neutral' aspect of Neutral Evil this season, not doing anything outright malicious, but she's made no steps to fixing the things she's done so NO SHE IS NOT REDEEMED PEOPLE CALM DOWN.
I was thrown SO off-guard by Double Trouble. The promos before the premiere made it seem like they were spying on the Horde for the Rebellion when it was the other way around, but I can take that. What surprised me was they were a lot more biting & malicious than I expected, & while I don't hate that, it did kinda spoil my enjoyment of them a little bit. That Flutterina disguise tho? Adorable. 10/10 would still adopt them even if they are extremely chaotic neutral.
ENTRAPTA'S ALIVE ON BEAST ISLAND!!!! MY SCIENCE GIRL LIVES!!! & she's still as wonderful as ever! & she's seeing people genuinely care about her & that no, friendship isn't easy, but that people are actively putting in the work be her friend & it's just. So sweet!
SCORPIA IS FINALLY ACCEPTING THAT CATRA IS NOT GOOD FOR HER BASED ON WHERE THEY STAND RIGHT NOW & LEAVING A TOXIC FRIENDSHIP & ❤🧡💛💓💚💝💜💜💖💞❣💘💗 I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!
Also SHE CONNECTED TO THE BLACK GARNET & HAS LIGHTNING MAGIC YES BABEY. Real talk tho, the impact this is gonna have in the future seasons is. Big.
Speaking of, the whole arc of Light Hope & the First Ones is. Jesus what an impact. The varying levels of morality in this show is beautiful & powerful. & Light Hope's relationship with Adora & Mara motivating her to override her programming & allow her own death? Tragic poetic cinema
& Jesus MARA IS A QUEEN. She knows that the First Ones are doing the wrong thing & rejects the destiny they gave her & tried to help Adora do the same in her message. She's beautiful. I love Mara.
Poor Madam Razz. No wonder she seems crazy, her consciousness is constantly shifting through different points in time. & I was not expecting to cry over a pie for this reason. Madam Razz I love you.
The growing divide between Adora & Glimmer is. Painfully accurate. Their differing viewpoints are driving them apart, & Bow stuck in the middle? Hurts even more. & I'm proud of him for openly admitting that he's hurting when most characters would either act like nothing is wrong or wouldn't be affected. As much as I'm hoping it doesn't happen, this is realistic in how friendships can break apart & it hurts.
I'm proud of Glimmer for stepping up to the plate in her job as the queen, & especially as a queen willing to put herself in harm's way alongside her soldiers. This isn't an insult to Queen Angella, simply an obervation of their differences in leading their people. & I'm not at all comfortable with her taking magic lessons from Shadow Weaver, she's taking initative & isn't allowing Shadow Weaver to influence her judgement, so props to her.
Watching Catra deteriorate over the course of the season was. Very painful. Understandable based on the buildup from the all the episodes before, but still painful. Catra is finally reaching rock bottom after pushing everyone away & having it thrown in her face (in a very dickish way) by DT. Not everything they said is accurate, specifically about Hordak & Shadow Weaver, but they are right about how she treats the people around her. I'm hoping being around Glimmer as of the season finale will push the scales & help Catra accept that what she's doing is bad for everyone around her, putting her on the path of becoming a better person in the "I know I can't undo what I've done, but I want to help in whatever way I can", but with Horde Prime here it's honestly hard to tell.
Oh. Right. Hordak. I remember when the fandom complained about him being 'redeemed' & 'just having daddy issues'. How very, very wrong. This is a lot worse than anticipated. Hordak is indeed a clone, deemed 'defective' by his creator & kicked out, but we never realized just how high his stakes are. Hordak has created a sense of self, a personal identity. & despite all of his work, his absolute devotion to Horde Prime, his identity is stripped from him, because this is not what Horde Prime values. & that? Is disgusting. It doesn't excuse Hordak's uncountable crimes to the people of Etheria, but damn if you don't feel a shred of empathy for him.
Also, JESUS IS HORDE PRIME FUCKING CREEPY. The cold, detached manner & speech? His almost immediate invasion of Hordak's thoughts? His (& this is more of a personal thong because I have ommetaphobia, fear of eyes) 3 extra eyes on 1 side of his face? Do not like. Get him away from me. 2 questions: Why is he dressed like that? & why does he have dreads?
So yeah. This is where my thoughts are as of right now on She-Ra. I'm fucking SCREAMING & I'm afraid for our characters next season

Glimmer really is better suited as Wartime Queen but because of inexperience, grief and guilt and the meddling of Double Trouble there’s now a rift between Adora and Glimmer.
Adora, on the other hand, I feel her journey in season 5 would not just be recovering/questing to become She-Ra again but also finally assuming a more leadership role that she seems to have consciously evaded since she joined the rebellion.
Her hair is done, they’re at sea in an unknown place and Adora has to learn to navigate.
On the other end, Horde Prime seems to symbolize lawful Evil through order and uniformity. Individuality is not allowed under his reign. Heck even his subjects are just copies of himself.
The level of narcissism there is astonishing. And yet he can’t abide that even some version of himself stepping over the line and becoming more than Horde Prime.
This is certainly a start of Hordak’s redemption too, which is always the next step, introduce a bigger bad than your previous big bad.
It forces enemies into becoming allies and a path to redemption, if there is a path to be had.
TBH the only one who I have gone sour on the more we see of her, is Entrapata. Unlike the others she is a true Chaotic Neutral, she doesn’t care for anything but science to the detriment of everything. There are glimmers of some empathy and signs of not much of an awful person but it’s constantly thwarted by her willing disregard all in the pursuit of science.
I get where Catra is coming from, that spiral downwards, I get where Hordak comes from, he and Catra are not that different. They both want to prove themselves worthy of love and respect and someone to lay all that intense devotion to.
Entrapta.. is... She knows more than anyone the physical damage her bots can do to people, people she once considered friends.
There was a scene in Farscape where a scientist John Crichton befriends while working on wormhole tech. The scientist wasn’t outwardly evil but the scientist was more interested in the science of it allz It isn’t until John drives home to the scientist that “It’s not just about the science!” and that the tech he was working on actively hurts and kills people.
Entrapta hasn’t reached that moment and I don’t know if she ever will.
But she and Hordak work and they make sense. Entrapta’s entire identity is science, Hordak is a product of science, through some fluke became a sentient individual. I actually don’t know where I’m going with this except that, out of everyone, Entrapta alone and by herself is not a character I like.
ETA: Also She-Ra really is a Magical Girl, she is the Sailor Moon of the group when they all do the “when our powers combine” bit!

So: sokka=bow aang=adora mai=mermista ty lee=perfuma toph=frosta&huntara suki=those married ladies they hang out with occasionally?
nah it’s not one-to-one like that. aang has very little in common with adora, a jockish golden retriever looking lesbian with wfb tendencies. mai and mermista both have a deadpan thing going on and they’re both absolute legends but they are actually very different people. ty lee is a lot more cutthroat and decisive than perfuma; it’s more like she pretends to be similar to perfuma when in reality she’s just using it as a way to observe and control.
catra is a lot like azula and a little bit like zuko, but mostly like azula. scorpia is a lot like zuko. a lot a lot. glimmer and katara are exactly the same.
toph is more mature than frosta and more inclined toward chaos than huntara. though it’s only a small piece of her personality, i will say she does have a certain chaotic-neutral kinship with double trouble.
and yes, sokka and bow have the same narrative role and very similar personalities--they’re the closest match the shows have, and thank GOD noelle and her crew saw fit to preserve that archetype. although let it be said that if sokka had academic dads he would never have left to fight a war.

I’M GOING TO HANDLE BOTH PARTS OF “DESTINY” AS ONE GIANT DUMB MEGAPOST BECAUSE THAT’S HOW I ROLL BABY
PART 1:
I GUESS THIS TECHNICALLY COUNTS AS SOMETHING BAD HAPPENING TO SHADOW WEAVER? I’M NOT COUNTING IT THOUGH.
I LIKE HOW GLIMMER JUST LEFT HER TO SWING IN THE WIND LIKE A PORCH DECORATION, THOUGH. MORE PEOPLE SHOULD DO THAT. ACTUALLY, EVERYBODY SHOULD DO THAT.
ENTRAPTA IS STILL DEFINITELY ENTRAPTA.
CALLED SHOT RIGHT TO CATRA’S INSECURITIES BY [CHECKS NOTES] IS THE SET DESIGN EVEN ALLOWED TO MAKE THOSE?
IT LOOKS LIKE LONNIE & CO AT LEAST MANAGED TO TAKE A NAP AT SOME POINT.
KYLE REMAINS BADLY IN NEED OF A BETTER JOB.
YEAH, CATRA’S PERSONAL BREAKDOWN IS RIGHT ON TRACK.
OH HEY DOUBLE TROUBLE GETS TO DO STUFF AGAIN! AWESOME.
SHADOW WEAVER GETS SHUT THE FUCK DOWN. AWESOME. STILL NOT BAD ENOUGH, THOUGH.
OH BOY. OOOOOH BOY. THIS IS GONNA BE ROUGH.
THE MOST IMPORTANT DEFENSIVE BULWARK IN ETHERIA: SCORPIA’S PILLOW FORT.
OH, HUH, THAT IMPLIES THAT GLIMMER ONLY NEEDED TO RECHARGE BECAUSE SHE WAS SHARING THE MOONSTONE WITH ANGELLA. THAT’S AN INTERESTING IMPLICATION.
I CONSIDER THIS A GREAT SUCCESS FOR THE GIVE GLIMMER A HUG APPEAL.
“NOW WE GO SAVE THE WORLD” IS MORE OF A GOAL THAN A STRATEGY, GLIMMER.
NOOOO NOT ENTRAPTA! GOD DAMN THE FUCKING DEPRESSION RADIO. (ALSO, THAT’S A SENTENCE YOU’VE NEVER READ BEFORE, SO YOU’RE WELCOME.)
YOU NEED TO ATTACK ITS WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE!
NICELY DONE, BOW - AND THEN ADORA SEALS THE DEAL BY OFFERING SHINY THINGS.
ENTRAPTAMOBILE TO THE RESCUE!
DOUBLE TROUBLE: I WROTE CHAOTIC NEUTRAL ON MY CHARACTER SHEET AND I MEANT IT, DARLING.
ADDING "GIVE MICAH A HUG” TO THE STRETCH GOALS FOR THE GIVE GLIMMER A HUG APPEAL.
THIRTY GODDAMN SECONDS
I LIKE HOW THE STANDARD GREETING FOR BAD GUYS TO THE PEOPLE WHOSE ASSES THEY INTEND TO BEAT IS BASICALLY JUST “HI ASSHOLE”.
PART 2:
SCORPIA, PUT SOME RANKS IN BLUFF ALREADY.
LONNIE: YOU KNOW WHAT, ACTUALLY, I’M DONE. WE’RE OUT. PEACE.
“IT SEEMS TO BE A SLOW DAY IN THE PARTS OF THE FRIGHT ZONE THAT ARE NOT CURRENTLY ON FIRE.”
LIKING CATRA AS A CHARACTER IS SORT OF LIKE SIMULTANEOUSLY WANTING SOMEONE TO GIVE HER A HUG AND BEING GLAD WHEN HEAVY OBJECTS GET THROWN AT HER.
WHY IS GLIMMER THE FRIENDLIEST SHE’S BEEN ALL SEASON WHEN SHE’S BANGING CHUNKS OF SUBCRITICAL URANIUM TOGETHER TO KEEP WARM?
IT DOES HAVE TO BE SAID THAT PROGRAMMING YOUR SUPERCOMPUTER TO MAKE SURE YOUR WEAPON FIRES EVEN IF THERE’S NOTHING TO FIRE IT AT IS A BAD IDEA.
SEA HAWK GOT LITTLE HEART EYES I CAN’T
DOUBLE TROUBLE RIPPING INTO CATRA IS AT ONCE WONDROUS AND HORRIFYING AND I CAN’T LOOK AWAY EXCEPT TO TYPE THIS SHIT.
SCORPIA: [IDLY STARTS HUMMING “THUNDERSTRUCK”]
OH SHIT THAT’S A BIG ONE. I JUST EDITED THAT TVTROPES PAGE THE OTHER DAY AND NOW IT’S OBSOLETE. GODDAMMIT.
“OKAY, SO MAYBE TRUSTING MY BEST FRIEND’S ABUSIVE MOTHER AND THE WEIRD KIND OF EVIL SUPERCOMPUTER OVER MY TWO BEST FRIENDS EVER WASN’T SUCH A GOOD IDEA” - GLIMMER
NOBODY IN THIS FUCKING SHOW KNOWS HOW TO DEAL WITH GRIEF CONSTRUCTIVELY
I WAS SPOILED ON MOST OF THESE BITS ALREADY BUT WOW, THAT IS GOING TO REALLY CHANGE THINGS UP FOR THE NEXT SEASON.
CATRA, YOU REALLY NEED TO STOP BUDDYING UP WITH WEIRD SPACE FASCISTS.

Oh please, Glimmer and Catra are both chaotic neutrals. They’re basically the same person but in wildly different circumstances. Good/neutral/evil is a scale of selfishness when your interests conflict with the greater good, it’s not about whether you are on the “good” or “evil” side. Glimmer has shown selfish tendencies and Catra compassionate tendencies. Combined with their usual behavior that definitely implies both are neutral.
Between good and evil, through law and chaos, heroes and villains are made.

Yeah, I would call both Adora and Glimmer more neutral good than anything, and Glimmer probably toes the line between that and chaotic good at all times, and often ends up crossing over. And Bow is definitely the most lawful good of the Squad, there is no doubt about that, and he’s probably among the most lawful of the protagonists as a whole.
Besides those two, I would say the others are all pretty accurate, especially Catra and Shadow Weaver.
Netflix did it

Hey so I think there’s a bit of misunderstanding here in regards to the reaction to the alignment chart. At least for me, I said this is inaccurate and Glimmer and Catra are both chaotic neutrals because the good-evil axis is about one’s inherent tendency to be self-serving vs. helping others. This is not a denial that Catra is fighting on the evil side, nor that her actions of late have been evil. It is an examination of her character traits that have been shown over the course of the series.
Catra definitely has some self-serving tendencies, but we also saw her protect Adora from Shadow Weaver (her abuser) to her own detriment and even bring SW her badge to fulfill a last request even though there was nothing in it for her (and it could have potentially gotten her in trouble). However, her life keeps teaching her that helping others/doing the right thing only results in more pain for her, so she keeps pushing her selfless, “good” side further and further down.
On the other hand, not speaking in terms of the alignment chart I agree that when we woobify and water down Catra we can’t claim to stan her. This is simply a clarification of the “Catra as a chaotic neutral” argument and how that isn’t incompatible with acknowledging her actions as evil.
Hot take: are you truly a Catra stan if you can’t fully embrace the fact that she’s evil right now, and declare that you’re still rooting for her regardless?
Catra’s actions now aren’t Neutral, they’re Evil. Forget the portal, forget her sadistic streak towards Adora, forget her infecting She-Ra to use her to kill Adora’s friends. What about sending Entrapta, the person who saved her life, to death prison and then framing her? What about shoving Scorpia, the person who stuck with her through thick and thin, aside as if she’s trash and threatening to send her to aforementioned death prison too? All that for the sake of her personal revenge?
If you’re stanning her then you should be saying “yeah she’s morally being at the lowest of the low right now. But I still believe in her!”. Not denying her entire character while pretending she’s a defanged, poor misunderstood version of herself in your mind. Cause that’s not Catra.
