it hadn't really clicked how you felt about glenn until the well situation, how he was dangling above a walker like... bait.
how your heart got caught in your throat as you watched and heaved the rope back with the others, how the tears stung in your eyes.
how you couldn't even look him or the others after the incident. separated from the group, your tent next to daryls.
glenn of course tried to talk to you multiple times, but you brushed him off. making yourself busy in the process, going on food and medical supplies.
teaching carl how to hunt and maggie how to kill the walkers.
the moment played on your mind every waking minute.
you had been with the group since the beginning, you were actually with glenn when you had found some of the others.
andrea not taking a liking to you immediately but her sister amy did.
the both of you had gotten closer since her death.
it came back around that somebody had to go further out for supplies this time. of course he volunteered. you refused.
"you can't keep letting him put himself in danger all the time, its not fair! just because he's what 'faster'?" pushing yourself onto your feet off of the couch.
"y/n it's fine really i—" he interupted but that didn't stop you from continuing.
"it's not, this is total and utter bullshit. he's been putting his life at risk since he got he and i bet he's done it before you arrived."
they all agreed for a different plan, a safer one for the boy.
the meeting was dismissed and you made your way out of the house with your head hung low. trying not to make eye contact with anyone.
grabbing a woven basket and started your chores.
slightly moving each chicken so you could grab the eggs, standing up straighter as footsteps were heard behind you.
rolling your eyes when you came face to face with glenn.
"okay seriously dude what is your problem?" still ignoring him but listened to him talk.
"first you are ignoring me, now you're sticking up for me?"
you just walked around him, stopping when he lightly grasps your arms holding you closer to his chest, face to face.
tears welling up in your eyes as you looked into his.
"i shouldn't be feeling this way. i barely even know you! it's so stupid." your words came out wobbly as you shake your head.
glenn listened whilst he wiped away the fallen tears from your cheeks.
"i-i just can't see you get hurt, you are always the one to jump to put your life in danger and no one ever second guesses it. it's not fair damnit."
"if i knew any better you'd think you've got a littl crush on me." a blush spread across your cheeks as his shoulder playfully knocks into your own.
looking at your dirty boots knock together in response.
"w-wait really?" no you're lying!"
gathering everything you had in and placed your lips against his, feeling as he almost instantly shuts up and melts in the kiss.
"woah..."

ANGSTTTT
reader runs away bc she hates enid but her father figure glenn adopts enid 😭
Carl finds her and u can finish the rest
ok bbg
it ends with a bit of fluff but enjoy!!
CARL X READER
You couldn't believe it. Your father, well, your father figure, Glenn, had taken Enid under his wing. Enid now lives with you, Maggie, and Glenn. It enraged you.
You loathed Enid. She, in your words, was a "deranged fucking bitch."
And maybe Glenn didn't love you as if you were his own. Maggie was also pregnant, meaning that there wouldn't be enough space for three kids. So maybe it was you who needed to leave.
And that's exactly what you did.
Once the clock struck midnight, you packed your bags and left Alexandria. You'd left your friends, family, and boyfriend (Carl). It wasn't like anyone was going to care if you left.
No one was going to look for you. That was the prophecy. You were destined to be alone, and you became self-aware of that thought every day.
You headed for the woods. It was a bit dark, and you didn't have your flashlight with you either.
You maneuvered the woods blind. But it was fine. You could just listen for the sounds of flesh-hungry walkers.
By the morning, you'd reached an old apartment building. You opened the door and were greeted by a few walkers. You used your knife to kill them. One by one.
You searched the first floor, killing walkers as you went. You decided it was best to stay here, on the first floor, in case anything happened.
You opened the door to a small apartment and settled down. It had a mattress on the ground and a small but empty kitchen.
You dropped your bag on the floor and laid on the mattress. You smiled. It was better than living with Enid. Totally better.
You decided that it would be better if you had some rest. Your limbs felt like they'd fall off. You closed your eyes, thinking happy thoughts, and slowly fell asleep.
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
You were having the most exquisite dream about living in a castle on clouds when suddenly everything started collapsing, and then you were met with a blurry figure hovering over you.
"Are you alright?" Your vision started to clear up, and the fog in your brain started to melt away.
You looked up, taking in the face in front of you. You knew him. Him. "Carl? How did you—" Carl cupped your cheek and whispered, "You thought that you could travel away from Alexandria and I wouldn't find you? You could travel to the end of the earth and I would still find you. Can't you see? You belong with me, Y/N. And I belong to you."
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't help but smile. "You're so cheesy, Carl."
Carl grinned, "Only for you." He leaned in and kissed your cheek. Carl stood up and brushed the dust off of his jeans. "Let's go," he said.
"No."
"Yes, we are leaving." He took your hand and pulled you up. You wanted to go with him. But you couldn't. Glenn and Maggie definitely didn't want you. They were probably getting ready to kick you out. Luckily, you have already left, saving them the trouble to kick you to the curb.
"Fine, I'll stay," Carl said.
"Carl—"
"No, I'm staying until you come with me." You smiled. "I'll stay with you whether you want me to or not."
"Okay," you replied.
"Okay."

Tumblr media
A new survivor, David, had arrived at Alexandria two days ago and his presence did nothing but discomfort you. His eyes were always somewhere else, but your face and his inappropriate comments just made it worse.
Glenn knew about this, you having told him the second time it happened. You didn't want to cause any trouble, so you kept quiet after a while.
“Hey, pretty girl,” Glenn places a hand on your waist and pulls you in to press a chaste kiss on your cheek. “Mm, hey,” you smile at his affection.
You notice the leather gloves he wore, wondering what he was up to. “What are you going to do?” You ask him, pointing at the gloves he wore. His gaze goes down to the gloves, “Oh, I’m going to help Rick and Daryl unload some boxes Aaron found on his run.”
Just as he said that you hear Daryl’s whistle, getting Glenn’s attention as the gates close shut. The truck drove in reverse, backing up with a few boxes loaded in the back.
“Gotta go help now,” he presses another quick kiss on your lips this time, before turning to jog towards the group.
After seeing Glenn get to the others, you turn back to what you had been doing previously; pulling out weeds and dead plants from the little garden you grew. You dig into the moist dirt, carefully pulling out stems and leaves.
You continue doing this for a while before going to the back side of the house, grabbing the hose to rinse your hands.
Glenn and the others had finished unloading the boxes, carrying them to the inside of the church so Gabriel could take care of the rest.
With one hand holding the hose, you rinse the dirt off the other. You do the same thing to the other hand before turning the hose handle off.
The sound of a low whistle gets your attention once you straighten up.
Just as you turn around, you’re met with David. You feel your heart begin to race with nervousness as you spot the smirk plastered across his face; his eyes are filled with something other than friendliness.
“What are you doing all alone, sugar?” He swipes his tongue over his top lip.
“What are you doing here?” You furrow your brows, anger, and frustration washing over you as you glare at him. He wasn’t supposed to be back here.
He lets out a chuckle, a disgusting chuckle. “Aren’t you a feisty one?” He comments, deciding to come closer to you. The look in his eyes makes you shiver as you take a step back, clearly angry.
“Let’s have some fun, baby.”
“Don’t come any closer!” You ordered him, fists tightening at your sides.
David just smirks at the sight in front of him, without doubt enjoying how you looked, all terrified yet willing to fight. “Or what?”
“Or Glenn will fuck you up—” David’s hand pulls your arm, making you tumble flush against his chest. You could smell his nasty sweat and feel the dampness on his shirt.
You pull yourself back, your wrist still in his hand. Adrenaline runs through your body, attempting to swing your free arm at him, only for him to catch it with his other hand.
“Let—” you shake your arms, trying your best to set yourself free, “—go!”
David can’t help but chuckle, turning you around to push you up against the wall of your house. Your shoes squeak on the wet grass, the hose still on the ground.
Your eyes tear up, struggling to get yourself loose from his strong grip. The feeling of not being strong enough hits your guts. David was stronger than you and you know that. Still, something in you wanted to believe it wasn’t true.
And just imagining what he could do to you frighten you to the core.
“Not so strong, are you?”
He taunts you, disgust and fear settling at the pit of your stomach. You didn’t want to cry but hot tears were already beginning to spill. You could feel your vision blur as you turned your head away, not wanting to see his monstrous face.
David presses his body against yours, trapping your legs so that kicking isn’t an option. You tremble, your strong act now gone. “Please, stop!”
With quivering lips, you shake your head as his face is close to your neck, inhaling like a creep. You shut your eyes in fear, praying he would get off you.
His free hand slithers down to your leg as he then grasps your thigh. He gives it a rough squeeze before letting out a vicious chuckle. A laugh that makes your skin prick with goosebumps.
“Heh, I can’t believe I finally have you all to myself.”
He’s suddenly yanked back by his shoulder, someone turning him around. “What the fuck—” A harsh punch shuts him up quickly, enough to make him tumble back. Blood drips down onto the grass as David brings his trembling hands to cover his nose and mouth.
David lifts his gaze from the mess in his hands to Glenn. His eyes widened with fear and before he could say any dumb excuse, Glenn lunged at him.
You take a step back, face wet with hot tears still spilling.
“You piece of shit!” Glenn is on top of David, fisting the collar of his shirt as he throws punches at David’s face. It’s not long before Glenn’s fists are covered in blood. David’s face, on the other hand, is fucked up. Badly.
David grunts on the ground, unable to keep up with defending himself. Some people hear the commotion and soon Rick comes to stop it. He grabs Glenn and pulls him off David, the grass splattered with red specks.
Glenn stumbles back, eyes trained on a badly injured David. David’s nose looked broken, blood coming out his nose. His face was just stained with his own red fluid and with a couple of yellow-greenish marks.
You watched the whole scene unfold in front of you, a trembling hand covering your mouth. What just happened made it way more difficult to process. Your mind was racing, and the tears kept spilling.
Rick was trying to calm down Glenn, who was trying so hard not to lunge at David again. The look on David’s face was clear as day; he fully regretted what he did.
“Lay your hands on my wife again and I’ll kill you!” Glenn snarls at David, full of emotion. Within a few seconds later, Glenn is in front of you, eyes softened. And badly injured David is taken to the infirmary.
He holds himself back from touching you, afraid that he might frighten you. Worry is written all over his face, his eyes searching your tear-stained face. “Love?”
His voice is gentle.
Your lips quiver before you wrap your arms around him. He lets out a shaky sigh as you weep into his embrace. And he begins to tear up.
He tightens his hug, burying your face into his shoulder as he rests his cheek on top of your head.
Although you were shattered by what you experienced earlier, you were a bit more eased to know Glenn would always be there for you.

daryl hadn’t known you for long, no more then a few weeks at most but in the short time he had known you, he felt as though he’d known you for years. thanks to not only his brother’s judgements but also his own, he believed you to be some entitled snob that would never looked twice in his direction. his jaw had just about hit the ground when he had discovered you had both grown up in the same neighbourhood, even went to the same community school before him and merle had moved away.
he could never describe the way he felt around you. daryl had always understood he was never smart, not in the ways that mattered or not in the ways that would impress you but he was sure - so goddamn sure - that were was a word or two to describe the way he’d felt about you in the short time he had come to know you. the word daryl was searching for - but would never find - was basorexia.
sitting on a countertop behind a rounded table, watching the others cheer and pour drinks brought a sense of familiarity to you. it reminded you of a simpler time. you focused on lori and rick as they playfully bickered on weather or not their son should try some of the red wine dale was serving, but daryl - who sat beside you, nursing a bottle of beer- was entirely focused on you. the way you looked under the white led lighting of the cdc bunker and the way you giggled as carl pushed away the small cup of wine he had just tried. everything you did was perfect in his eyes, absolutely everything.
“you gonna share that bottle dixon?” you queried, gently nudging into his shoulder as you flashed him cheeky grin.
daryl let out a breathy chuckle, not saying a word before handing you the brown bottle, watching you intently as you brought the bottle up to your lips.
“you should stick to soda pop kid.” shane mumbled as daryl stood up to walk around the table, in hopes to secure another bottle as the current one had almost run out.
“not you glenn.” daryl smiled - that was one of the first times you had seen him genuinely smile - leaning in to grab another bottle before teasing, “keep drinkin’ little man, i wanna see how red your face can get.”
“it seems to me we haven't thanked our host properly.” rick spoke, standing up to look at the man who had reluctantly let us in an hour or so prior.
“he is more than just our host.” t-dog smiled, raising his glass of red wine.
“booyah!” daryl cheered, raising a bottle of spirits into the air before sitting back down beside you, offering you a sip of the new liquor.
you placed the empty bottle of beer beside you before taking the bottle what you assumed was whiskey and cheering, “booyah!” before taking a swig.
“so when are you gonna tell us what the hell happened here, doc?” shane asked, breaking the cheers and thanks coming from around the room, and almost instantly everyone fell quiet. “all the ah the other doctors that were supposed to be figuring out what happened, where are they?” he asked, looking at the lone scientist.
“we're celebrating, shane.” rick answered quickly, sitting back down beside his son. “don't need to do this now.” he added.
“whoa, wait a second. this is why we're here, right?” shane asked rhetorically, looking at rick before continuing. “this was your move, supposed to find all the answers but instead we uh we found him.” shane explained, his very tome and expression seeming on edge and untrusting. “found one man. why?”
“well, when things got bad, a lot of people just left. went off to be with their families and when things got worse, when the military got overrun, the rest bolted.” the scientist explained, the entire mood shifting.
“every last one?” shane asked sarcastically.
“no, many couldn't face walking out the door. they... opted out. there was a rash of suicides. that was a bad time.” the scientist continued, his voice shaky as he explained the fate of the cdc.
“you didn't leave. why?” andrea asked, placing her half empty glass of wine onto the crowded table.
“i just kept working. hoping to do some good.” he explained.
“dude, you are such a buzzkill, man.” glenn groaned, looking at shane as he slumped back into his chair.
later that night, after every had begun settling in for the night you found yourself lying awake in a sleeping bag a meter or so away from glenn. your hair was still damp from the warm shower you had no more then an hour prior. you pulled yourself up from the sleeping bag, wrapping your arms around your chest before wandering out into the hallway to find all but one light left on. daryls room. the door had been left open, allowing you to lean up against the doorframe as you watched daryl pull a clean shirt over his head and shoulders before noticing the brown bottle by the head of his sleeping bag.
“still hoggin’ the bottle huh dixon?” you giggled, causing daryl to spin around as the rest of his shirt fell down his torso.
he weakly scoffed as his eyes traced up and down your body, most of your legs exposed from the shorts you had found in some drawers while a baggy shirt hid most of your figure.
“d’yer reckon we could find the rest of ‘is stash?” you asked eagerly, looking up at daryl as a breathy chuckle fell from his lips.
“nah, yer cut off woman.” he chortled, as you walked further into his room “yer already drunk as i am.” daryl added.
your eyebrows almost immediately pinched together as you dramatically scoffed, “that shower sobered me up real good.” you teased, bending down to grab the bottle before taking a sip of the room temperature liquor. “‘n what would be so wrong with that?” you asked, folding your arms across your chest.
“nothin’!” he defended, his hands weakly rising into the air before dropping back by his side. “s’just you look like you can’t handle your booze is all.” daryl teased.
you dropped down onto the near by couch as you slurred, “i can handle my liquor jus’ fine.”
closely you watched daryl as he plopped down beside you, taking the brown bottle from your hand before taking another swig.
“women can never handle their liquor.” he mumbled, a weak laugh escaping his lips, making you frown.
“dixon.” you mumbled, looking across to his eyes as they remained focused on the bottle in front of him. “that sounds like a challenge.” you smirked causing the man to look up with a devilish grin plastered on his lips.
he extended his arm, offering the bottle to you. you took the bottle from daryl causing a soft giggle to leave your lips as you brought the rim of the bottle up to your mouth. taking another swig of the brown liquor - burning your throat - you rested the bottle in your lap.
“yer gonna be wasted.” he noted, trying to hide the grin sneaking onto his lips.
“you’ve never even seen me drink,” i scoffed, “for all you know i could’ve been a drunk before all of this rubbish.” i added, handing the bottle back to daryl as he shuffled a little closer.
“‘cept i do, yer told me ‘bout an hour ago that you barely had your first drink before the world went to shi-.” daryl teased, his words cut off as your hand covered his mouth, quietly shushing him.
“i told you that in confidence, and i said first legal drink.” you pouted as daryl’s hand lifted up to connect with yours that was still covering the majority of his mouth.
you could feel daryls breath on the palm of your hand as he let out a small chuckle but as his hands slowly began to peel yours away from his mouth, his lips began to purse, leaving a soft kiss on your skin. you watched him as his lips continued further down your wrist, his hand loosening before finally letting go to reattach at the base of your neck, pulling you closer to him as you lips met. quicker then you could have ever imagined the kiss grew heated and passionate as you found yourselves pulling each other closer. in an act of desperation you pulled yourself onto his lap, resting your knees on either sides of his hips as you sat down on his lap, but it still didn’t feel close enough.
when you had suddenly pulled your lips away from daryls, leaving him confused and afraid that he had overstepped, but as your hands cradled his cheeks and a smile began to creep onto your lips he was left in a state of confusion.
“been waitin’ for yer to do this for a while.” you grinned, your eyes wandering around daryls face, admiring every little detail thanks to the close proximity.
“thought you were only doin’ this cause you’d been drinkin’.” he answered glumly, his hands still loosely hovering over your hips.
you shrugged weakly, a smirk creeping onto your lips as you whispered, “needed some liquid courage.” before your lips connected to his prickled jawline.
“scared of me huh?” he asked, his grip tightening around your waist as your delicate kisses began to tickle his skin.
“m’not scared of you.” you mumbled into the crook of his neck, slowly beginning to work your way back to his lips.
but just as you went to reconnect your lips, daryl slightly pulled away, his eyebrows pinched together as he whispered, “ya think i’d say no to yer?”
you stayed silent, shyly nodding. heavy breaths filled the room as a weak muffled scoff left daryls lips. you let out a little chuckle at your own foolish mind for getting in the way of an action you had been wanting to pursue for some time now.
“didn’t think i was your type.” you commented, combing a piece of hair out of your face before your hand reattached to the base of daryl’s neck.
“didn’t think i was ya type either.” he breathlessly chuckled, his hands remaining firmly gripped onto your waist.
a soft giggle left your lips as your lips momentarily connected with daryls before pulling away to whisper, “your one hundred percent my type.” you smiled, your very words making daryl scoff in disbelief before your lips reconnected with his.
daryl was in heaven on earth. he had never imagined this happening and now with you on his lap, your mouth slowly beginning to part from his lips as you trailed down his chin and jaw, your entire body now beginning to slide down. his chest rose and fell heavily as you rested on your knees, your hands now beginning to fiddle with his belt buckle.
“ya- yer don’ have ta-“ a groan slipped from daryls lips as you began to peel away his jeans, the very action sending him into a euphoric state and with you on your knees before him, something much more lustful and libidinous began to grow.
the following morning daryl woke up to you wrapped around his body, the sleeping bag - intended for one person use - was sprawled out over your two bodies, providing some warmth. your arms were wrapped around his torso, and your legs were intertwined with his. daryl looked down at you, admiring your soft delicate feature as you peacefully slept for the first time in months.
daryl thought you were so deep in sleep that nothing could possibly wake you, so when a strand of your hair fell across your face, tickling your nose and lips, daryls hand rose from his side. as he began to brush away your hair, your eyes began to flutter open, causing daryl to freeze as he trucked the strand of hair behind your ear.
“morning.” you grumbled, your arms pulling away from the warmth of daryls body to stretch.
“mornin’.” he hummed, following your actions of sitting up right, the pair of you sitting shoulder to shoulder. “yer hungover?” daryl teased, beginning to rub his face before combing his hair out of his face.
“shut up.”

𝓻ick 𝓰rimes …
as your boyfriend !
pairing : rick grimes x reader warnings : slightly suggestive, fluff wc : 700+ a/n : i feel like i write every single character exactly the same OR every single character i hyperfixate on has the same kinda qualities? anyways this may be very ooc 😢
Tumblr media
꩜ rick isn’t one for grand gestures, but he’s constantly doing little things to make you feel safe and cared for. if you’re walking together, he’ll keep his hand on the small of your back, guiding you gently and staying close. it’s a subtle but protective gesture, like he’s always making sure you’re by his side
꩜ when the two of you are alone, and the tension is thick in the air, rick can’t help but pull you close, his hand firmly cupping your jaw as he stares down at you, almost like he’s debating something. he doesn’t say much, but the way his lips hover over yours, breath mixing with yours, tells you all you need to know. when he finally kisses you, it’s deep, slow, almost like he’s taking his time to savor every second of you
꩜ he has this habit of pulling you aside just to make sure you’re okay, even when he’s busy. he’ll brush his hand over your shoulder or cup your face for a moment, his thumb grazing your cheek. it’s like he needs to reassure himself that you’re right there, safe and sound
꩜ when he’s feeling affectionate, he’s surprisingly tender. he’ll wrap an arm around your shoulders and pull you close, murmuring quietly in your ear. it’s not much, but the warmth in his voice makes you feel like you’re the only person in his world, even just for those few moments
꩜ after a long, hard day, when it’s just the two of you and the world feels like it’s finally stopped spinning, rick will press you against the nearest (reasonably) comfortable surface, his body fully against yours. he’s gentle at first, kissing you with this intensity that feels like he’s pouring everything into it. his hands trail down your body, but always with this softness - his touch just shy of desperate, as if he’s afraid you’ll slip away
꩜ whenever he catches you stressed or worn out, he’ll make time to be with you, even if it’s just sitting with you quietly. he doesn’t push you to talk but just holds your hand, his fingers tracing slow circles against your palm. sometimes, he’ll pull you in for a long hug, resting his chin on your head, letting you feel his steady presence
꩜ he’s surprisingly sweet when you’re alone together at night. he’ll run his fingers through your hair, his voice low and comforting as he tells you about little memories from before everything changed. it’s rare for him to talk about the past, so you know it’s special when he opens up like that
꩜ when he’s feeling playful, he’ll sometimes sneak up on you, wrapping his arms around you from behind. he’ll press a gentle kiss to your neck, his scruff tickling your skin as he mumbles something like, “caught ya.” his laugh is soft, and he loves the way you lean into him, even when you act surprised
꩜ on hard days, he’ll pull you close and just hold you, his hand resting on the back of your head as he whispers that you’re the reason he keeps fighting. he’s not one to talk about his feelings, but when he does, he makes every word count, leaving you with a warmth that lasts long after
꩜ in the rare quiet moments, he’ll look at you with this soft, intense expression, like he’s memorizing every detail of your face. he’ll brush his thumb along your cheek, his voice barely above a whisper as he tells you, “i don’t know what i’d do without you.” it’s as close as he gets to being vulnerable, and those words always stay with you
꩜ rick loves to sit with you under the stars after a long day, his arm wrapped around your shoulders. he’ll pull you close, resting his chin on your head, and share stories from before everything changed. when you laugh, he can’t help but smile, and he’ll nudge you playfully, whispering how you’re his reason to keep going before pressing a soft kiss to your forehead

╰┈➤ rick grimes x greene!reader headcanons
a/n: i would like to give a special thank you to @lumillsie for the layout of this post and for the filter used on the header!
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ as the middle greene sister, you possessed the fierce loyalty of maggie, the eldest, tempered by the gentle quietude of beth, the youngest. the bond between the greene sisters was as thick as the bark of an oak tree, strong and enduring. though you welcomed a few close friends into your life, it was in the company of maggie and beth that you discovered solace and understanding, a sanctuary from the world. you and beth being the daughters of your father’s second wife made no difference to maggie, all that mattered was that you were flesh and blood, a greene.
╰┈➤ when the outbreak began, your world unraveled. acquaintances and friends went missing or left the georgia countryside, resources were scarce and so your focus on your education was abandoned for the sake of your family, you could not leave your father’s farm, it wasn’t safe, despite your father’s belief in that a cure could be found. your days were spent hauling haystacks and knelt over the rich soil, your skin burning beneath the scorching rays of the sun.
╰┈➤ it had been a peaceful morning when he arrived, a man stained in his dying son’s blood and blue eyes clouded with terror. you were drinking chamomile tea on the porch with maggie when your brother-in-law, otis, came rushing, gasping for air, yelling that a boy had been accidentally shot in the chest and needed medical treatment. maggie would go find your father, you would go help the man with his son. he said nothing then as you took the pallid boy in your arms, you would briefly look into the eyes of the man. his gaze and the distress etched onto his white face told of the love he bore for his young son.
╰┈➤ you would not learn his name until later that night, the man was rick grimes, once a sheriff from a nearby county. in the spare room where the boy had been laid for your father to deal with the bullet shards in his chest, rick had been sat by his son’s side since he arrived. with his head hung low and skin drained dry of color, he would speak to you as you inserted the needle into the crook of his elbow for the blood transfusion. “when will your father begin with the operation?” rick slurred out. he had given far more than the safe amount of blood, you would not answer his question concerning the procedure as you were unsure and didn’t want to worry him any further, but you would warn him about the danger of donating more blood. as weak as he was, rick shook his head and stuck his arm out for the next transfusion, stating that carl was his son, his life was worth little without his family.
╰┈➤ when shane broke the news that otis was mauled by walkers on the mission to retrieve the necessary supplies to save carl’s life, you broke down in tears. maggie was left distraught and left the farmhouse to grieve on the porch, beth locked herself in her bedroom and wept all night, you would go on to assist in the bullet fragment removal in spite of your anguish, you had responsibilities that could not be forgotten in the name of misery. rick would come find you after the operation had been completed successfully, “i’m sorry about otis, he was a good man.” the grave weight of his tone left no doubt of his sincerity. you thanked him for kindness and expressed that you were simply grateful otis had not died in vain, but to save a child’s life.
╰┈➤ life returned to its more mundane state, only it was not only her family present, but rick grimes and the entirety of his group, living half a mile or so from the family farm. you had met some of them, but it was rick grimes who caught your interest. he was a true southern man, family-oriented and self-righteous in his beliefs, but you didn’t find that to be an unappealing characteristic. you were coming to realize that in dire times such as these, honor was something humanity desperately needed to cling onto.
╰┈➤ maggie knew you as if you were the palm of her hand, she would tease you endlessly for your little crush on the former sheriff. flustered, you would retort by bringing up her growing relationship with glenn rhee, to which maggie would toss an apple at you for your mockery. you were somewhat ashamed and tried your best to keep your affection for rick buried in your heart, as not only was he two decades your senior, but he was married to a woman named lori and had a young child. though there were times when you questioned how happy his relationship with his wife was, but you figured it was your fascination with him that clouded your judgment.
╰┈➤ you tried your best to push aside your feelings for rick, but days turned into weeks, and your sentiments toward him only became more serious. you were shy around him, a stark contrast to your usual demeanor which was lively and friendly. rick would go on to jest, saying, “you’re as quiet as a damn mouse.” the mirth in his eyes meant he was only joking, but your father would overhear this conversation in passing. when rick left to go deal with personal matters, your father would stop you, warning you that you should stay away from rick grimes. when you argued that he was a good man and your relationship with him was innocuous, your father shook his head, telling you they would have to leave sooner or later, he was responsible for his family, not for these strangers who indulged in their strained resources. you would accuse your father of being inhumane, of essentially sending them away to die, and would refuse to speak to him the rest of the day.
╰┈➤ you would come to find out that because of a botched plan to secretly meet between maggie and glenn your father’s secret barn harboring walkers was discovered by rick and his group. rick’s so-called best friend, shane, demanded with a great deal of aggression that all the walkers be slaughtered for everyone’s safety, but these were your friends and family. your father had explained these people were merely ailing, and that once he found a way to treat them, they would return to their previous state, a notion you were becoming to doubt. yet, you still held to a sliver of hope that your mother and your brother could be saved. rick came to confront you about this revelation when you were returning from the chicken coop, “you knew the entire time? and you didn’t say anything?” the question angered you, and for the first time since he had arrived, you were not so enamored by his charm. you answered that your father knew his best how to handle his affairs and went about your daily routine of chores, but you would be distracted as you picked root vegetables and swept the kitchen floor.
╰┈➤ it was the next morning you woke to the sound of gunfire and wailing, terrified, you hastily pull on your leather boots and head outside to find your father’s barn full of walkers, its old wood tattered by bullets and the rotten corpses of family and friends left on the gritty dirt. shane walsh had decided to take matters into his own hands and kill every walker in the barn. you collapsed seeing beth cradling your mother’s barely recognizable corpse. rick would rush to get you to your feet, trying desperately to reassure you, but you pushed him aside and crawled to your sister’s side. when your mother’s corpse began to twitch and her jaw hung open, growling, she reached out to grip beth with thin claws, rick would raise his pistol and shoot her in the head. you then came to grasp what a walker truly was, they were not alive nor sick, that creature who attempted to kill your sister was not your mother, your mother was dead, your brother was dead, the corpses you saw were a monstrous husk of what your loved ones once were.
╰┈➤ your father would disappear from the farm, presumably to return to alcohol to cope, and beth was left in a catatonic state. you stayed in the farmhouse, isolating yourself as you tried to come to terms with what had occurred. it was later that evening when there was a gentle knock on your bedroom door, you were surprised to open it and reveal a rather fatigued rick grimes, standing there with a furrowed brow and a slight frown. he asked if he could come inside and you let him in. you donned only a lace nightgown that fell right below your knee and your long hair was worn loose, tumbling about your shoulders. “i wanted to say how sorry i am for what went down today. i might have been wary about the barn situation, but what shane did… that was no way to handle this.” you were silent for a minute, then told him that he was right about the walkers, they weren’t sick, they weren’t alive, and you couldn’t comprehend how her father didn’t know that. you questioned if he was perhaps in denial, unable to deal with his wife and son’s passing. rick was uncertain himself, but assured you that regardless of any mistakes your father made, he loved you and your sisters dearly. with tears welling in your eyes, rick would instinctively pull you in for an embrace in an attempt to console you, an act that was unexpected, but not unwelcome by any means.
╰┈➤ when he pulled away, you bid him farewell and wished him a good night, kissing him lightly on the cheek before he left. he smiled at you, “i’ll have your father back at home before dawn.” his gaze lingering on you before he headed for the doorway. maggie happened to come to check on you as rick left, he acknowledged her with a nod and headed for the staircase. your sister cast you a harsh glare, saying while she trusted you and rick, you should be cautious in such treacherous times, that others might not see their relationship as so innocent, especially his wife. you didn’t say anything, maggie gave you one last bit of advice before leaving, “don’t let a married man in your room at night.”

An afternoon with you
Pairings: Carl Grimes X GN!Reader
A/N: Just a little drabble, kinda bad but I like writing fluff, please don't hate
You and Carl were alone in the Grimes' house which was usually a bad sign to Rick as he would always say "I don't want another kid runnin' around here" or "You are way too young to be thinkin' about this stuff anyway".
But today was different, you were cramping up and sore, there was no way in hell you were doing anything sexual. So here you sat with the leader's son...braiding his hair,
"Your hair is so soft after you shower" You smile. He chuckles lightly and thanks you. You twist the soft, fluffy tufts into braids as you two enjoy each other's company, talking about recent runs and new comics he'd found.
He jokingly brags about the new comics, showing them to you. "Read 'em and weep!" He boasts. "You are so lucky, I've been wanting that new 52 comic for ages!" You giggle.
"What can I say? I have impeccable taste." He smiles as you tie a hair tie around the two braids you twisted into his hair. You turn to face him from the front to admire your hard work, trying to find any loose hair or loose strands and you find none. You smile and nod, proud of your work.
Carl gets up to go to the bathroom to scope it out with you and at first, he's shocked to see his hair's long enough for 2 braids that length and then he smiles softly, looking at you in the reflection which catches you off guard and causes you to blush.
"Do you like it?"
"I adore it." He says, hugging you and squeezing

summary: y/n tries growing in her grief at hilltop.
pairing: carl grimes x female reader
a/n: ya’llllllll thank you so much for loving the first part!!! i’d actually written pt1 a year ago and never rlly planned to ever make a pt2 but ask and you shall receive lolol, hope you like!!
*read part 1 here*
*************************
“todays the day rick n carl should be gettin here,” maggie said, sending a spoon with tomato soup into her mouth, “you ready to see him?”
i released a shaky breath, playing with my own bowl of food as my starved appetite vanished. i stared at the red, swirling liquid. “i don’t know.”
“a month wasn’t enough time apart?” she asked, eyeing me cautiously.
i hadn’t wanted to repeat myself, but i had no other answer. “i- i don’t know.”
it hadnt seemed like a month apart. i would’ve sworn it had been yesterday i walked out of alexandria alone, two duffel bags in my hand and a gun, ready to fend off anything or anyone that crossed my path.
but it had been a month, the longest we’d ever been apart. and i missed him more than anything.
it still didn’t shake my hesitancy, my worry that the moment we spend time alone we’ll go back to disagreements and fighting and perhaps, i’d never go back to alexandria again. and that’ll be the end of us. till one of dies and the other is forced to reconcile the fact that we’d never made up.
it scared me to see him. to see death again.
“well,” maggie swallowed again, her short hair bristling in the chilly air from the open window, “i think when you see him, that’s when you’ll really know.”
i nodded slowly, my eyes still trained on my soup.
she stood up out of the chair, “i need to find greg, talk to him ‘bout a few things.” she eyed me again, noticing my static, unmoving position. “you’ll be alright while i’m gone?”
i looked up at her then, not wanting her to worry, “i’ll be fine, mags.”
she gave me a small, reassuring smile and a kiss on the crown of my head before she went off, and i was left in my thoughts.
luckily, maggie’s trailer provided a lot of privacy, and knowing the tenants at hilltop, i wouldn’t be disturbed.
i stared off to a chip in the paint, thinking.
——
“i can come with you.”
“carl-“
“why can’t i just take you to hilltop and leave?”
“because, carl, don’t-“
“it’s dangerous, y/n, and reckless-“
“carl-“
“and stupid-“
“would you stop interrupting me!”
he went quiet then, his burly arms crossed over his flannel chest, eye staring daggers into my figure.
we stood by the door to our house, two duffel bags leaning against the wall i so desperately wanted to pick up and run out.
i knew despite him saying he wouldn’t stop me going, it wouldn’t eliminate the imminent last ditch effort fight from occurring.
“you told me you’d let me go.” i said slowly, as if reprimanding a child, “don’t go back on your word.”
he rolled his eyes, “god forbid i don’t want you out there by yourself! have my dad take you for fucks sake just don’t-“ he pinched the bridge of his nose, inhaling stressfully, “don’t go by yourself.”
“i can take care of myself, carl.” i spat, feeling anger surge through me at his distrust in me. “i’ve survived this long.”
“you never know what can happen out there.” he threw his hands up, “or here! yesterday, that dick’s gun was to your head in this fucking room!”
i felt his rage, i voiced his yells. it made my head spiral that i were still trapped in alexandria, suffocating in this broken reflection of my relationship that could barely withstand some independence.
but, bringing myself to reality, i also knew his fear, knew the dread at the unknown. knew the loss he was experiencing even while i was still standing in front of him, alive and breathing.
i shuddered out a breath, walking over to him to put my hands sturdily on his shoulders.
i looked up at him, watching his anger dissipate when we locked eyes.
“i know you’re scared for me,” i said softly, talking quickly before he’d have a chance, “but i need you to trust me.”
“y/n-“
“no,” i put my finger to his soft lips, “let me finish.”
i brought my hand down, his eye watching my finger fall from his flesh.
“i’ll send a letter the second i get to hilltop, so you know i’m safe,” i swallowed, “i’ll have my gun loaded and extra ammo, anything i could scavenge up from the armory.”
his eyebrow relaxed, listening to me talk.
“this is what we’re made for now,” i shook him a bit and sent him a weary smile to ease his tension, “we’re made to do these things on our own.”
he exhaled shakily, nodding to fool himself into thinking he’d allow this, that he’d watch me walk away from him into trees of undead and alive.
i leaned up to his face, our noses brushing every so slightly. my heart boomed in my chest, beating so hard i swore he could hear it himself. maybe it was both of our hearts, desperate to intertwine again.
“do you trust me?” i whispered softly, so our lips grazed.
i heard him swallow, and the breath from his nose fan my face.
“yeah,”
i pulled back at that, knowing if we kissed, for the first time since…, i knew i’d lose the battle to my heart and stay.
i grabbed the two duffel bags and locked my palm around the doorknob.
looking over my shoulder, i sent a reassuring smile, “i’ll see you when we’re okay.”
he didn’t respond, and while it sent a jolt to my gut of disappointment and guilt, i turned back and opened the door.
“y/n,” i heard him say, just as i left.
i barely looked over my shoulder.
“i love you.”
i bit my lip, finally, tears stinging the corners of my eyes.
“i love you, too.”
and the door shut.
——
crossing the lines to hilltop and realizing who i’d be seeing almost sent me running the other direction.
fear of maggie’s state of being gave me a headache as i drew closer to the entrance, and once i was close enough in view, could see her faint outline on a lookout post illuminated by the bright sun behind her.
i knew she saw me when i heard a voice scream my name.
she disappeared from the post and soon the large, wooden doors opened. i ran the rest of the way, dropping my bags and falling tiredly into her expectant arms.
as much as i told myself i’d stay strong for her, the smell of her hair and the memories of that night came sweeping back and i sobbed, wet and noisily, into her chest that shook with her own cries.
i didn’t realize we’d fallen to the floor till i felt my exposed knees sting from skimming the rough dirt.
“what-“ she sniffled, a sob breaking through her, “what are you doing here?”
i took a shaky breath in, trying to compose myself, “i came to see you.”
she frowned, burying her face back into my shoulder.
we cried a few more moments, let ourselves drown in glenn’s absence, in front of all the onlookers who just watched silently.
i pulled back, dread creeping into my stomach when i looked at maggie’s
“the-“ i swallowed, “the baby-“
“fine,” she answered quickly, stroking tears off my cheeks and sending me a faint smile, “just fine.”
i breathed a sigh of relief, nodding at the scarce good news before standing and helping her up, too.
she looked healthier than the last time i saw her, fatter in her face and her arms. her stomach barely bulged as a reminder a part of glenn resided there.
behind her i saw sasha standing, her arms folded. even from far away, i could tell she just looked even worse, instead of better.
i sent her my best sympathetic smile, receiving one back but knowing deep down, it was just another lie to comfort me.
i looked to maggie, gripping her forearms, “take me to him.”
seeing glenn’s grave, surprisingly, comforted me more than disturbed me. to know we had him, safe under dirt and bugs, but still, safe. better than laying out in the gravel, for prying, evil eyes to view him.
he was returned back to us in less than one piece, but his soul was whole with us.
i held maggie’s hand as we looked down, a few flowers resting over the raised patch of dirt.
i swallowed harshly, “what would he think now?”
“of what?” she asked softly, our eyes never wavering from the ground.
“of carl and i. of what’s been destroyed.”
i felt her squeeze my hand, “you and carl aren’t destroyed.”
i shook my head, feeling tears blur my vision and my nose sting.
she continued, “you’re right for the time apart, to grieve separately if that’s what you need.”
“is it enough?” i asked brokenly, finally looking at her.
she gestured our intertwined hands to glenn’s grave.
“ask him.”
and so i did.
i spoke to glenn’s grave everyday. sometimes scattered stories of our memories, from the prison, from on the road. sometimes i cried so hard i couldn’t breathe under the empty dusk, sometimes i laughed so hard my stomach hurt. sometimes i sat in silence.
but mostly i talked about carl.
——
if i stared hard enough at that paint chip, i could’ve sworn the wall tore a bit more right before my eyes.
i knew who i had to see, to remind me this absence was for something, that i’d grown in my grief.
my feet carried me to his grave, hidden away behind maggie’s trailer. i sat down comfortably in front of it, hugging my knees to my chest.
“are we okay?” i whispered to the air. “will i see you in him?”
“was all of this for nothing? will it always be this way, glenn?” i wiped my hand over my nose.
i let out a shaky breath at the thought, “can we overcome this?”
“yes.”
my head whipped around, and i saw carl, standing with his arms at his sides, tears filling up his ocean eye.
it gave me whiplash how fast i stood up and launched myself into his unexpecting arms. they rested limp for a moment, but quickly moved to hug my torso tightly, lifting my feet slightly off the grass as i wedged my head between his neck.
we pulled back slightly to stare at each other, and i searched his face for the blood, for the black line, for the axe.
i smiled softly when i realized all i saw were glenn’s memories.
happy memories, of the hot days at the prison when we sweat so hard playing tag, of playing a dusty board game in alexandria the first night when we were too hesitant to sleep, of watching his love with maggie and seeing it reflected in carl and i.
“why’re you smiling?” he whispered, his own face pulling to reveal a grin. he knew.
i leaned in closer, tipping his sheriffs hat up so our noses could brush.
“because i don’t see it, not anymore.” i finally let our lips touch, a kiss that sent flames bursting in my stomach and my fingers to shake with anticipation.
he leaned into the kiss, and i felt the breath on my face at his sigh of relief.
i knew he knew what i meant when i saw the tiny twinkle in his eyes reappear looking at me, knowing he felt the same.
i pulled back ever too quickly, evident in how he leaned in again.
but before i gave him the chance to kiss me again, i let my smile burst through.
we all had a long way to go, people to kill and more people to lose, but in this moment, right in this moment:
“i see you now.” i said.
and that was enough.

you kiss down his stomach, basking in the way he exhales your name from underneath you. he whined, already knowing what your cruel intentions were. his hands fly to your hair to try and pull you away from him.
“no, no––” he rushes out, frantic and panting.  “i won’t be able to last if you do that.”
it’s cute how panicked he sounds, like the mere thought of him not lasting for you makes him want to cry. god, he was so pretty.
you wrapped your hands around him, feeling yourself becoming desperate to feel him on your tongue. “shh, just let me taste you.”
you’re practically drooling, this man driving you insane with his little whimpers and heavy breathing. he’s begged you to do unspeakable things to him but as he lays here, his body perched up on forearms so he could watch you easier, he looks so innocent.
“but––”
“i want you in my mouth, glenn.” you pout up at him. “so be good and let me taste you.”
you hush him letting your lips wrap around his tip. moaning immediately at the taste of him, he whines at the vibration and at the feeling of your warm mouth on him. you were so good to him always.
“please––” he huffs, reaching for you just to feel your flesh on his fingertips. part of him feels embarrassed since he is naked while you are almost fully clothed. he has never been so thankful to be able to feel the skin of your shoulders.
you slide your mouth further down his length, getting rewarded by the long string of moans he lets out at the feeling. despite your growing desire to close your eyes and relax into the feeling of him in your mouth, he looked so good underneath you. you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.
you begin to bob your head, listening to his soft please that only spur you on. even the sound of his voice turned you on. you are so, so fucked.
you looked up at him, his chest heaving and eyes squinted. you sent him a look that he easily recognized as, “you can take it, know you can.”
“fuck, i’m gonna cum.”
you go faster, making him choke on whatever he was gonna say next.
you release him only to hear the disappointed moan he let out. “go ahead, make a mess for me.”
“but i wanna last,” despite his words, his hips buck into your hand. “i wanna make it good for you.”
“wanna be good?” he nods frantically at your question. “then do what you’re told, come for me.”

Spend the Night
pairing: maggie rhee x reader
genre: romance? idk
summary: just a blurb about maggie finally deciding to ask reader to spend the night with her, doing whatever your imagination desires *wink*
notes: this has been sitting doing nothing in my notes app so i figured i'd just post it even if its not my best work<3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Spend the night with me.”
Her words hit the back of your neck as you were making your way towards the door. It felt like every hair on your body raised and you were tingly from head to toe. You stopped mid step and swerved to face Maggie. She was biting her thumb nail between her teeth, staring you down with a fire ablaze in her eyes.
Every time you visited her in the evenings while Herschel was asleep, you hoped and prayed she’d one day say those words. It took all your might not to jump her bones whenever she looked down at your lips during conversation. Or when she’d absentmindedly brush your messy hair from your face. Or laughed that laugh that could set a room alight. You couldn’t exactly read what those gestures meant to her but you knew in the back of your mind Maggie was still grieving and always would be. You respected that. Any kind of company of hers made you content.
“I’m sorry… what?” You asked while your cheeks burned red.
Maggie stepped closer to you.
“Stay the night with me. Please.”
You held her gaze for a few moments before walking back, getting nearly nose to nose with her. She glanced down at your lips before quickly darting them back to your eyes. You, of course, caught that and leaned forward, parting your lips close to her ear to whisper, “Are you sure? Because you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to say that…” You made sure your words dripped with just the right amount of lust to hit her where it counted.
Maggie’s breath caught in her throat and she could only sweetly nod, her own cheeks turning a shade of pink. Your hand reached for hers, yanking her steadily towards her room, the rest of the night to be a complete blur.

Glenn rhee x reader

Pt2 , Pt3

You ran as fast as your legs would allow, stumbling up the stairs while trying not to fall. Behind you, the growls and gasps of the creatures—those who were once your neighbors—roared loudly, almost deafeningly. The upper floors offered no solace; the walls were splattered with blood, silent witnesses to a recent massacre. The air was thick, heavy with death and despair, and each step brought you closer to the unknown, to a possible trap or, perhaps, an unlikely salvation.
By the time you reached the fifth floor, the situation had become even more macabre. Two of those monsters, turned into insatiable predators, were devouring the mangled body of someone you had likely known in life. Horror gripped you; a scream formed in your throat, but you stifled it by covering your mouth with a trembling hand. You knew that the slightest noise could condemn you. There was no time for mourning or compassion. There was only one mission: survival.
Desperately, you looked around for an escape. The growls were getting closer. With no other options, you slipped into an apartment with an ajar door. Once inside, you moved cautiously, your hands gripping the small knife you carried, a pitiful defense but at least something to make you feel somewhat protected.
The living room showed no obvious signs of violence, except for some bloodstains that extended into the bathroom. You took a deep breath and headed for the kitchen, your heart pounding in your chest, searching for anything that might be useful. After a few minutes, you had gathered a small stash: cans of food, soda crackers, snacks, and water. It wasn't much, but it could make the difference between life and death. As you rummaged through the drawers for something more useful, a particular sound startled you.
The sharp cry of a baby broke the silence, coming from one of the rooms at the back. You stood still for a moment, trying to convince yourself that you had imagined it, but the crying persisted. You knew ignoring it wasn't an option. With hesitant steps, you moved towards the source of the sound, stopping in front of a door decorated with a small heart-shaped sign bearing the name "Alice." You pushed the door gently, revealing a pink-painted nursery, filled with drawings and toys scattered on the floor.
In the center of the room stood a white crib, and there, wrapped in blankets, a baby cried inconsolably. Her little face was reddened from the effort of crying, seeking attention, company... protection.
"Damn it," you whispered, this time with more resignation than fear. You looked around, hoping that at any moment someone—perhaps the baby's mother—would come running through the door. But no one came. Anxiety gripped your chest. You knew leaving little Alice there was a certain death sentence. The baby's cries already resonated as an open call to the monsters prowling the building.
With no other options, you took the baby in your arms. Her crying was desperate and incessant, and each passing second made you imagine that the things outside were drawing closer, attracted by the noise. As you rocked her gently back and forth, her sobs began to calm. Her tiny hands clung tightly to your shirt, and gradually, the crying turned into soft whimpers until, finally, it ceased. You sighed with relief, but the tension didn't fully dissipate. Every second was crucial.
You left the room with stealthy steps, Alice wrapped in your arms. The silence of the apartment was oppressive, and the feeling of being watched never left you. Keeping your gaze upwards, you walked down the hallway, vainly searching for any sign of life in the other rooms. But there was nothing. The place seemed deserted.
The bathroom, however, caught your attention. The door was locked, but through the gap beneath it, a faint beam of light filtered in. Something or someone was on the other side. You approached cautiously and pressed your ear against the wood, and horror overwhelmed you. A low, menacing growl resonated from inside, followed by a rasping sound: claws scratching the door.
You instinctively recoiled, fear freezing your blood. Whatever was trapped inside was not human. There was no doubt. Those creatures had reached this place, and surely whoever was locked in there would find a way out soon.
You quickly considered your options, aware that you couldn’t stay. The building was no longer safe, and probably neither was the city. Chaos was spreading like an uncontrollable fire. There was no alternative but to flee before nightfall made the streets even more dangerous. The creatures became more active at dusk, and the cover of darkness would only increase their numbers.
With trembling hands, you found a larger bag and filled it with essentials: supplies, some clean clothes, and everything you might need to care for your new companion, Alice. You fashioned an improvised sling and secured her gently against your chest. Her calm breathing contrasted with your own racing heart.
Leaving the building was easier than you had imagined. The creatures were scattered, hunting on other floors or in the streets. Moving with stealth and determination, you made your way to your car, parked not far from the main entrance. With Alice secured to your chest, you quickly got in and started the engine.
Three weeks had passed since you left the city. Those days felt like an endless nightmare. The first two weeks had been particularly exhausting: the roads were blocked with abandoned cars and wandering corpses, and you had no choice but to continue on foot. You walked through forests, taking shortcuts when you could, though it only heightened your paranoia. The constant crunching of leaves under your feet, the distant sounds of the infected, and the ever-present danger of being surprised kept you on high alert.
Dealing with Alice was another challenge. The baby cried incessantly, her relentless hunger forcing you to stop more often than you would have liked. Sometimes, you could only pray to find a safe place to rest. Sleeping was not an easy option; every nighttime noise, every shadow moving in the dark, was a potential threat.
As you pressed on, the physical and mental exhaustion began to take its toll. You wondered how much longer you could keep going. Alice needed more than you could offer alone. However, as if some higher power had heard your silent pleas, things changed the day you encountered the group.
It happened while you were exploring an abandoned house, desperate for food or diapers for Alice. Hunger and exhaustion were becoming unbearable, and each step felt like a burden. Entering a dusty room, the air thick with humidity and mildew, you were struck by the emptiness. The weight of reality hit you hard: there was nothing. You leaned against the wall for a moment, struggling against despair.
That’s when you saw him: a rugged man with a face hardened by life, holding a crossbow with an unsettling firmness. You had no idea how long he had been there, watching you. Instinctively, you stepped back, raising your hands in a gesture of surrender. The cold steel of his gaze pierced through you, and fear took hold. You were cornered, unsure if this encounter would mean the end.
The man did not lower his weapon but took a step closer, studying your every move. “Are you from the city?” he asked in a deep, authoritative voice. His tone made it clear that he was used to taking control of situations. His eyes quickly scanned the space behind you, as if expecting someone else to emerge from behind you. But he saw nothing.
The lump in your throat made it hard to speak, and for a moment, you thought your legs might give way. You could only nod, hoping it would be enough to placate him. The man kept his gaze fixed on you, evaluating, measuring every detail.
“Are you alone, or is there someone else with you?” he asked again, not softening his tone. Before you could answer, a second man appeared in the room. He was younger, with Asian features, and seemed to be with the first, as the latter showed no surprise upon seeing him. The younger man carried another weapon, though his posture
“There’s no one with me,” you managed to say, your voice trembling as you tried to stay calm. But at that moment, you felt Alice shift in the carrier, as if she was about to wake up. The faint movement of the baby immediately caught both men’s attention.
The younger Asian man slowly lowered his weapon, his expression softening as he assessed the situation. There was something in his gaze, perhaps empathy, or maybe just exhaustion. The crossbow man, however, did not immediately change his expression. His eyes dropped to the small bundle against your chest, and for a moment, the tension in the room became unbearable.
“Is that… a baby?” the young man murmured, incredulous. It seemed he hadn’t seen something so small and delicate in a long time.
You nodded once more, unconsciously tightening your hold on Alice, trying to protect her as best as you could. “Yes… it’s just her and me,” you replied with more confidence than you actually felt.
“What’s your name?” asked the young Asian man, his voice softer than the armed man’s.
“My name is Y/N, and she is Alice,” you answered, feeling a slight calm beginning to settle inside you. You gently stroked Alice’s back, trying to keep her calm. Still, you couldn’t ignore the discomfort caused by the young man’s continuous gaze.
“I’m Glenn, and this is Daryl,” Glenn introduced himself, taking a step toward you and extending a friendly hand. Although you appreciated the gesture, you opted to keep your distance, your survival instinct still on high alert. Glenn noticed your hesitation and lowered his hand, not offended but maintaining his friendly tone.
Daryl, however, had not entirely lowered his guard. His crossbow was still ready, though now aimed at the ground. The tension in his jaw and the coldness in his eyes kept you on edge. The air felt dense, heavy, as if something could go wrong at any moment.
Glenn placed a firm but calm hand on Daryl’s shoulder, trying to ease the situation. “Calm down, she’s not a threat. Look at her, she’s alone with a baby. Let her breathe.” His conciliatory tone managed to soften Daryl’s stance a bit.
Daryl exhaled slowly and finally lowered the crossbow completely, though not without issuing one last warning. “Alright. But I recommend you get out of here before nightfall. It’s not safe to be out in the woods at this hour, especially with a child.” His tone made it clear that he was giving advice rather than making a threat.
You nodded quickly, aware that you didn’t have many options left. The sun was beginning to set, and although you had survived until now, you knew you couldn’t keep going alone for much longer. The city had been hell, and now the forest was proving to be just as dangerous.
“Listen, Y/N,” Glenn interrupted, his voice much softer, almost a whisper. “We have a camp not too far from here. It’s not much, but it’s well-protected, and we have supplies.” His eyes, which had been cautious before, now reflected something more. Empathy, perhaps. “You don’t have to keep wandering alone. You could stay with us. Alice would be safer there.”
His words resonated in your mind. The offer seemed too good to be true, but desperation was beginning to take over. You glanced at Alice, feeling her small, warm, and vulnerable body against yours, and realized you could no longer afford to keep testing your luck. The walkers outside would show no mercy, and you knew you’d soon run out of strength.
“I don’t want to cause any trouble,” you said, unsure. Although Glenn’s offer seemed sincere, something inside you still doubted. You had seen the worst of people in recent days, and distrust had become second nature.
“You won’t be a problem,” Glenn replied with a kind smile. “There are more people at the camp, and we’re all in this together. We can’t promise you an easy life, but we can offer you safety and some peace. At least, for a while.”
You looked at Daryl, searching for any sign that the proposal was genuine, but his expression remained impassive, as hard as a rock. However, by not objecting to Glenn’s offer, he seemed to be giving his tacit consent.
Finally, you nodded, letting a little relief seep into your thoughts. “Alright. I’ll go with you.”
After what felt like hours of walking, you finally descended a hill and before you was a scene that, in another time, would have been a mundane sight: an improvised camp with cars and a trailer. However, now, amidst the chaos, it represented a refuge, a possibility of rest, and perhaps, safety.
Glenn turned to you, noticing your exhaustion. “We’re almost there. It’s better than being out there, believe me.” He smiled, a mix of relief and concern in his gaze. Daryl, for his part, kept his distance, still vigilant with his crossbow ready, though he had stopped aiming it directly at you. He seemed to trust Glenn more than the situation.
As you emerged from the dense forest, the camp Glenn had mentioned became visible through the trees. With each step, your legs felt heavier, and the sweltering heat made sweat trickle down your forehead and body. Glenn briefly stopped to check that you were still following, offering a supportive smile, while Daryl, in his own way, stayed alert, his crossbow always at the ready.
Finally, you reached a small clearing in the forest and turned left. That’s when you saw it: the camp. Just as Glenn had said, there was a trailer blocking a slope, and next to it, a smoldering campfire. Near the campfire, a picnic table and several chairs formed an improvised circle. A bit farther away, several tents were grouped around a small path cutting through the vegetation. The place looked humble but safe.
You had taken only a few steps when a burly man with an expression of both alertness and distrust approached quickly. “What’s going on, Glenn?” he asked in a deep, firm voice. He was Shane, who seemed to be leading the group at that moment.
Glenn raised a hand to calm him. “Everything’s fine, Shane. She’s from the city. She’s alone… and has a baby.”
Shane cast a quick glance at Alice, his expression softening slightly before turning back to you. “Alone, you say?”
“Yes, we checked,” Daryl interjected, finally lowering the crossbow but not taking his analytical gaze off you.
“Well, it’s better to talk to the rest,” Shane said in a less aggressive but still firm tone. “Lori and Carol are with the kids; maybe they can help with the baby.”
You observed several people engaged in various activities. Two blonde women, one clearly older than the other, were sitting and cleaning what you assumed were freshly caught fish. Further along, a dark-skinned woman was resting next to a burly man with a serious expression, who was relaxing in one of the chairs near the campfire. On top of the trailer, an older man with a fishing hat kept a calm watch from his position, holding a rifle firmly, as if he might need it at any moment. To your right, you noticed a Latino man and another taller man wearing a cap, checking a couple of cars.
Glenn, who stayed by your side, gave you a reassuring glance before speaking. “Come on, I’ll introduce you to the group.” He took a few steps forward, guiding you toward a pair of women sitting at an old picnic table.
“Hi, girls,” Glenn greeted with his usual friendly tone. “I want to introduce you to Y/N.” He made a hand gesture indicating for you to come closer.
The tall woman with brown hair, holding her son on her lap, looked up with a warm smile. “Hello,” she said as she stood up kindly. “I’m Lori, and this is my son, Carl.” She extended a friendly hand towards you, her smile genuine, as if trying to offer you some of the peace you were missing at that moment. You shook her hand in return.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
Glenn then turned to the woman next to her, who had a more reserved appearance but a calm presence. “And these are Carol and her daughter, Sophia,” Glenn continued, pointing to the little blonde girl playing with a rag doll.
Carol looked up with a discreet but warm smile. “Nice to meet you, Y/N,” she said softly, while Sophia looked at you with shyness, hugging her doll a bit tighter.
Lori noticed the small sleeping bundle in your arms, and her face softened even more. “Is that… your baby?” she asked delicately, as if trying not to invade your personal space.
The question gave you a pang in your chest, and you felt a brief wave of sadness. You shook your head slowly, looking at Alice with tenderness. “No… I’m not her mother.” The words came out in a whisper laden with sorrow, reminding you of how much Alice had lost in such a short time. “Her parents… are gone.”
Lori didn’t press further or ask more questions, understanding the pain implicit in your answer. She simply nodded with a slight smile that aimed to be comforting. “She’s very cute,” she commented gently. “You’re lucky to have her with you.”
After a brief silence, Glenn took charge of the situation again, now that everyone had been introduced. “Well, let’s see if we can find a place for you.” He gestured for you to follow him, leading you to the area where the tents were set up.
Walking together along the path between the tents, Glenn gave you a smile. “You know, we don’t usually get many visitors. I think Daryl thought you were here to steal our fish,” he joked, raising an eyebrow with a small laugh.
You returned the smile, grateful for the attempt to ease the tension. “Well, if I ever get to that point, you’ll know I’m desperate.”
Glenn chuckled and nodded. “You’re right, I wouldn’t mind if it’s for survival. Although, in that case, I’d offer you one myself. I work hard to keep us stocked,” he said with a wink.
As you arrived at a small cleared area, Glenn stopped in front of his tent. “We don’t have a tent for you yet, but you can use mine until we sort something out. Don’t worry, I can sleep in the trailer, there’s enough space,” he offered without hesitation.
You gave him an incredulous look, grateful but also a bit embarrassed. “Are you sure? I don’t want to impose.”
Glenn made a casual gesture with his hand. “Don’t worry, I’ve slept in worse places than the backseat of a car. Besides, how often in life can you say you were a gentleman and offered your tent to a lady?”
You smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed with his sense of humor. “Well, I guess I’m lucky to have met a gentleman in these times.”
Glenn returned the smile, apparently pleased that his joke helped you feel more comfortable. “You know, if you need anything else, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re a small community, but we take care of each other. And now that you and Alice are here, that includes you two as well.”
You felt deeply grateful for his kindness, something that already felt rare in such a shattered world. “Thank you, Glenn. It really means a lot.”
You entered the tent, grateful for the brief moment of tranquility. You knelt on the ground, observing what was in the small space: a sleeping bag, a backpack, and a couple of neatly folded clothes on one side. It was simple but cozy, and at that moment, you realized how exhausted you were. You sighed as you unfastened the harness holding Alice and gently placed her on the floor so she could move and stretch.
The baby, always restless, took advantage of her freedom and began to crawl around the small space. Despite the circumstances, seeing her curiosity about the world brought a small smile to your face. “You really need a good bath,” you commented softly, as if the little girl could understand your words. Alice, of course, simply looked at you with those lively eyes, emitting a babble as she smiled, completely oblivious to the harshness of the outside world.
With a clumsy but determined movement, Alice crawled back to you, raising her little arms as if wanting to be picked up. “Again?” you murmured, lifting the little one and holding her against your chest. “I’ve spoiled you too much, haven’t I?” you said with a slight laugh, as Alice rested her head on your shoulder, her small body immediately relaxing in your arms.
You gently stroked her back, feeling her breathing calm and steady. The need to protect her enveloped you strongly, like a silent promise you had made without even realizing it. This new place, this camp full of strangers, represented a risk, yes, but also an opportunity. An opportunity to find a respite, at least for a while, so that both of you could regain your strength.
Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all. Despite the initial distrust and the evident dangers of the outside world, these people seemed, at least, more human than what you had encountered before. Glenn had been kind, and the others had shown no signs of rejection. There was a certain sense of community in the camp, a spark of hope that seemed hard to find in these times.

TWO YEARS AGO
“Fuck!” You screamed, “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!”
You slammed your back against the door, tears forming in your eyes, “Glenn!” Your voice breaks, “G-Glenn!”
You waited, hopefully he would yell back, come running In, something, but nothing happens, “Shit.” You take a deep breath, standing up straight, “Okay, okay, okay.”
You push your palms to your temples, trying to rack your brain about where they were headed, but you couldn’t remember.
Rick, the guy you found together, was headed for something important. You were willing to help him, you were helping him, until a hoard of the dead separated you from your group.
You managed to get into a building, barricaded the door enough for you to escape out the back. You climbed up an old fire escape, hoping to see, or even catch a glimpse of him, but nothing.
It was a sea of dead, and you were on the verge of losing it.
“Okay, okay, okay.” You walked back over to the fire escape, climbing down. You stopped, kicking your boot against the window and giving it a few seconds.
Your main focus right now was to find supplies, hide out for as long as you can.
You wanted to wait, you knew Glenn would come back for you, or so you thought.
ONE YEAR LATER
“So who are you looking for again?”
You look up at the guy, Midge, sitting across from you, “My fiancé.” You sigh, “We got separated a little over a year ago in the city.”
“How do you know he’s still alive?” Midge holds his hand out, “Sorry, I don’t mean for that to come off so.. harsh.”
You shrug, “I don’t, but I’m not going to stop until I know for sure.”
“How are you going to do that?” Carrie sits down on the seat next to you, “Do you remember any of the people who you were with?”
You nod, “Yeah, beside Glenn, there was Rick, he I guess was a sheriff before all of this. Nick, but he died.” You laugh slightly, “He, um. He tried finding medicine for this man’s daughter but he didn’t make it.”
“What happened to the daughter?” Carrie asks, “Did she make it?”
You shake your head, “No. she turned and then all of a sudden, boom. The dead took over the group.”
“But you, Glenn, and this Rick fellow, all made it out?” Marge asks and you nod, “Well, we were escaping them and ran into more. I tried to stay with them but there was just.. too many.”
“We had three other people with us. Sounds kinda the same, honestly.” Carrie shakes her head, “Now it’s just me, Marge..” she points to the person driving the RV, “Venom.”
“Why do they call him venom, if you don’t mind me asking.” You look at Carrie and she laughs, “He used to own a snake store before all of this shit. He had all kinds of them.”
“Fitting.” You chuckle, “Thanks for not running me over with this, I really appreciate the ride.”
“We saw how you handled those dead freaks out there, figured it’s better to befriend you, but if you try to steal from us or kill any of us, I’m not promising to spare your life.” Carrie tilts her head and you nod, “Got it.”
“Do you know which way Glenn was headed?” Marge asks and you shake your head, “I can’t remember, I think something about the, oh fuck. The..” you think for a second, “The fuckin’ CDC.”
“We’re actually headed there, too. I heard some professor may have some answers about why the world went to shit.” Venom says from the drivers seat, “Looks like you hitched a ride just in time.”
But the CDC was a huge bust.
The building was ashes by the time you rolled up onto it.
You got out, scouring the place for any sign of Glenn, but nothing is found.
You walk back to the RV and step inside, “We can just take 85, head towards Washington? I don’t know what else to do.”
“Do you think he went that way?” Carrie asks and you shrug, “I don’t know, I’m just hoping that he had the same idea.”
Carrie nods, “Well, lucky for you. We don’t have any place to be, so.” She laughs, “Washington, here we come!”
SIX MONTHS LATER
“There’s nothing out here.” Carrie’s hands slap her thighs, “No gas. No food, water. Nothing.”
“Then we walk, my map says there’s a housing complex a few miles up the road.” Marge points, “We can try there, if not stay the night. It’s going to be dark soon.”
“We can clear it, barricade the doors.” You nod, “I’m in.”
You make your way to the houses, but they’ve already been cleared, of walkers, food, everything.
“Damn it.” Carrie sighs, “What the fuck are we going to do?”
“Let’s just try and get some rest.” Venom sighs, “We can’t keep going if we’re low on sleep.”
“He’s right.” You nod, “We can get rest, wake up, and keep moving. Marge.” You point to the map in his hand, “Are there any streams around here? We can filter the water if we find a-uh, mesh net or something.”
“I’ll look.” He nods and you help the others barricade any entrances.
After a while of sitting around, Carrie motions to you, “What were you and Glenn before all of this?”
“He delivered pizzas and I worked from home. I was just a customer service rep.” You laugh slightly, and you and Carrie speak at the same time, “Who ordered a lot of pizza.”
You all laugh and you nod, “I miss him. I miss him so much. I just hope he’s okay.”
“We’re going to find him, and you two can have the best reunion anyone has ever seen.” Carrie smiles, “Is that what’s keepin’ you going?”
You nod, “He’s the person I’ll never stop looking for.”
“I’m glad to see people still have some sort of hope.” Venom glances at you, “Lost my wife the day everything went to shit.”
“I’m sorry.” You frown, “If I ever get annoying talking about him pl-“
“Shut up.” He laughs, “It’s nice having someone around who still has that grip on hope. Everyone else we came across was just miserable and wanted what we had.”
“How many people have you killed, y/n?” Marge asks, “If you don’t want to answer you don’t have to.”
You sigh, “Eight.”
“Eight? Whys that?”
You shrug, cracking a smirk, “They wanted what I had.”
ANOTHER SIX MONTHS LATER
You’ve been walking for what feels like months.
You managed to find an old vending machine still full of snacks. You had to fight off a few of the dead ones for it, but as Venom said, totally worth it.
“How much further until we see something?” Carrie looks at Marge and he stops to look at his map, “It says there’s an old factory, I wanna say a day or two walk from here?”
“So we need to camp out for a night or two?” Carrie raises her brows and Marge nods, “Maybe just tonight. If we pick up the pace we can maybe cut it down to a day and half?”
He cracks a smirk and Carrie huffs, “You’re not funny.”
“Sorry.” Marge puts his map away and points, “We can keep walking a little bit longer, maybe someone will drive by? Can hitch a ride?”
“If only we were that lucky.” Venom mumbles as he walks past all of you.
You reached up, holding onto your necklace for comfort.
“I see you do that a lot, he give it to you?” Carrie points to your neck and you glance down, “Oh, yeah. It was our two years anniversary and this was his gift to me. Haven’t taken it off since.”
She nods, “I really am rooting for you to find him. You’ve been a big help this whole time.”
You shrug, “You gave me a chance. The least I could do is make sure you guys are s-“ you point, “Dead ones!”
“Venom!” Carrie screams, unsheathing her knife, “Fuck.”
You each take on the zombies, one by one until they were all lying on the ground around you, “Okay, fuck.” You take a deep breath, “We gotta go.”
You managed to find a stone wall near a small waterfall. “we can build a fire, keep it close to the wall?” You point and they all agreed.
Even with one person keeping watch, no one could sleep being out in the open like that.
Finally, after tossing and turning and sitting up for every little sound you heard, daylight breaks and you keep moving.
“That warehouse should be-“ Marge’s voice fades away as you walk up to the fence to reveal an overrun warehouse, “Gone.”
“That tank looks like it exploded.” Venom points, “This looks like a place people lived. Do you think we should check it out?”
“I am.” You turn to walk and Carrie grabs your arm, “Whatever human was down there, is no longer down there.”
“I have to at least check.” You shrug, “I have to, please. One quick sweep.”
She gives it a second and then sighs, “Fine, but it gets too bad we’re going.”
You nod, pulling the fence to slip underneath it.
You walk down, knife and gun at the ready and you make your way around, “Half of this building is fallen in.” You look back, “I don’t think we should-“
A hand grabs your shoulder, and you whip around, pushing your hand on the chest of one of the dead, you plung the knife into its skull.
You run up to the door, screaming through the cracks, “Glenn!?”
Dead hands reach out, swatting as they try to move towards the sound. You jump back, quickly getting the hell out of there.
As you’re running back up the hill, you stop, turning around to take in the abandoned building.
“Glenn.” You whisper to yourself, “Where the hell are you?”
Walking and camping. Walking and camping.
That’s all you did the next few days.
You were almost out of water and food again.
All of you were running on little to no sleep, which caused things to get a little tense at times, but you all managed to push through it.
One morning, as you were packing up your tarp in your backpack, a guy came out from behind a tree and you raise your gun, “Whoa, hey. Stay right where you are.”
“Sorry, I just-“ the man sighs, “My name is Aaron.”
“Okay, Aaron. What do you want?” You ask, and by this time, Carrie and the guys were standing next to you, their guns drawn.
“I’m alone.” Aaron keeps his hands raised, “I have an offer.”
“What’s your offer?” Venom asks, “Where are your weapons?”
“I have a gun, on my hip, just a small pistol, and then a knife, but it’s still in there, too.”
You saying, “Your offer?”
“I’m from a community, just a few miles away. We have walls, homes, showers. Food, water. Everything you need.” Aaron states, “I’m a recruiter from there, we’re called Alexandria.”
“Alexandria.” Carrie scoffs, “How do we know this isn’t a ploy for you to get us to trust you and then fifteen men come out and kill us?”
“I know, I know it’s hard for you to believe, but I can show you where it is, you just, have to agree to stay there once I do.” Aaron looks at each of you, “I can even mark it on the map and-“
“Hold on.” Marge cuts him off, turning around to face you and the others, “What if he’s serious?”
“I am serious.” Aaron cuts in, “Please, we just want to help people.”
Marge turns around, “How many miles are we talking?”
“Just a few miles that way.” He points, “I have a car just up the road, too. My husband, Eric is waiting with an RV.”
“So you’re not alone?” Carrie tilts her head and Aaron sighs, “Alone out here, yes. When I get back to the cars, “No.”
“Can’t even trust him to-“
“Wait.” You cut Carrie off, “Do you have anyone there named Glenn, by chance?”
Aaron shrugs, “We just got a group in about two, almost three months ago? Things have been hectic, so I’m still learning names.”
“Glenn could be there.” You whisper, “I just..” you sigh, “If you guys don’t want to go I’ll go.”
“No.” Venom shakes his head, “You go, we all go. You have saved our asses countless times.”
Marge turns around, “Which way to the cars?”
——
After a little bit of driving and talking Eric, he points, “This is Alexandria.”
You all move to look out the window. Tall metal walls. Guards with guns at each post.
You honestly couldn’t belive this was happening.
“After years on the road, we might just be able to call someplace home.” Carrie shakes her head, “Another part of me has to see it before I really believe it, you know?”
Eric chuckles, “I promise, it’s exactly what Aaron described. Maybe even better.”
You take a deep breath as Aaron and Eric stop the vehicles, “Your weapons will be taken, but you can check them out after a few days. I promise, you won’t need them in here.”
Marge and Venom grumble as they get off the RV.
“New recruits for the community!” Aaron yells up to the guard at the top of the wall. She nods, “Weapons?”
Aaron looks back at you and Eric nods, “I told them.”
You lay your gun and knife on the ground, your legs trembling as you stand back up. Carrie and the guys follow, and soon after, the gate starts opening.
You walk up with your small group, your jaw dropping slightly as you see just what Aaron described, “No way.”
“Maybe he wasn’t lying after all.” Carrie shakes her head, “Oh my god.”
“I told you.” Aaron chuckles, “Welcome to Alexandria.”
As you spinning around slowly, taking all of it in, a familiar voice stops you in your tracks.
“Y/n?”
You spin around slowly, “Glenn?”
Tears instantly well up in your eyes and you run. You slam into him, almost knocking you both to the ground but he regains balance and his arms are tight around your body.
“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.” He mumbles over and over again, “I’m so sorry. I came back, but you were gone.”
“It’s okay.” You keep your arms right around his neck, “I found some people, I helped them they helped me.” You sniffle, “I thought you were dead.”
“I thought you were dead. Seen a walker that has the same necklace as you. Same hair color, everything.” Glenn leans back, “Oh my god.”
He lays a hand on your cheek, “I can’t.. believe that you’re here right now.”
“Is this the infamous Glenn Rhee?” Carrie teases as she walks up. You nod, keeping your arm around him as you turn to look at her, “It is. Glenn, this is Carrie. That’s Venom, and then you have Marge.”
“Why do they call you Venom?” Glenn tilts his head and you laugh, “I’ll tell you later.”
“You know, she wouldn’t shut up about you.” Marge chuckles and you sigh, “He said it was fine.”
“I’m sure Rick and the others can tell you the same thing. I wasn’t letting the thought of her go.” Glenn pulls you in towards him more, “I just can’t believe you made it here.”
“She’s a hell of a fighter. She ain’t kicking the bucket anytime soon.” Venom raises his brows, “She was determined to find you.”
“Hey.” Aaron walks up, “Glenn, I presume?”
He nods, “Yeah, hey. Thanks for bringing them here. This is y/n. My fiancé.”
“Now I see why you asked if we had a Glenn.” Aaron chuckles, “from here on out, I promise to learn names right away.”
“I’m going to, take her to the house so she can clean up, if that’s okay?” Glenn runs his hand up your back and Aaron nods, “Yes. Please, I will show your friends where they can go.”
Glenn leads you towards the house and you stop when you see Rick walking down the road, “Y/n?”
You smile, giving him a wave, “Hi, Rick.”
He looks to Glenn and back to you, “Holy shit.” He opens his arms, welcoming you into a hug, “I’m glad you made it out.”
You step back, “Wasn’t easy, but I had no other option. I was finding Glenn.”
“You found me.” He rubs your back, “Come on. Let’s go get cleaned up.”
Glenn leads you inside, giving you the run down about the house as you make your way towards the steps and up, “We all kinda share the space, mainly because we aren’t used to being here yet.”
You nod, “Aaron said he brought in a group about two, three months ago. Was that you guys?”
Glenn nods, “There’s been one or two people, but we were the biggest they’ve had in a while.”
You lean against the sink counter, staring at Glenn, “Sorry, I just.. can’t believe that you’re.. here.”
He nods, “I probably would have lost it if you turned around and you were someone else. I’ve wanted to look for you. I did go back and look for you. Everywhere we stopped, I was out there, all day looking.”
You nod, “I really wouldn’t shut up about you. I just had this constant voice in my head telling me to head towards Washington.”
“That’s where we were headed, then we sound this place, or, this place found us.” Glenn laughs slightly, “I’ll um, let you shower. I’ll wait in the room for you.”
You nod, watching as he closes the door as he leaves, and you turn, staring at another thing you never thought you’d see again.
——
As you walk into the room, Glenn turns around from grabbing a shirt, “Feel better?”
“Do I look better?” You joke, moving to close the door behind you.
“You look like you, just.. cleaner.” He chuckles and walks over, “I have waited two years to do this.” He cups your cheeks and presses his lips to yours.
You lay your hands on his face and lean back, “I never lost hope.” You press your lips to his again, “I knew you were alive.”
“I’m still sorry I left you. I should have looked longer. Harder.”
You shake your head, “It’s fine, Glenn. I promise. I’m okay. Im here now and I’m not going anywhere.”
You step back to grab your shirt, “Did you guys see that old warehouse building? A couple miles from here?”
“Terminus?” Glenn raises his brows, “Yeah that ah..” he laughs, “Carol blew it up. We went there thinking it was actually a place we could live and it wasn’t.”
“Wait, so you were there?” You put on your shirt and change into a pair of sweatpants, “What was it?”
“A bunch of cannibals.”
“What?” You asked shocked and Glenn nods, “Oh yeah, they uh, they bound and gagged a few of us, after keeping us locked in a train car, then they took us in to a big room and has us down infront of this long tub looking thing and they cracked two guys over the head with, I don’t even know what, but we got lucky and fought back and then we found this.”
“Oh my god, Glenn.” You walk over to him, “I’m so sorry.”
“Then there was a prison, everything was fine until someone in another place wanted what we had and..” he takes a deep breath, “a lot of people died.”
“Glenn.” You wrap your arms around him and he hugs you tight, “after we got separated, Rick found his wife and son and I think his old police buddy. We went to the cdc.”
“We went to the cdc, too.” You look up at him, “We must have been a few months behind you then.”
“I should have kept looking.” His eyes scan over your face as he brushes hair from it, “I kicked my own ass every day for it.”
You shook your head, “Don’t do that to yourself, Glenn. We’re here now.”
“Where else did you go?” He asks, cupping your cheek with his hand, “I wonder if you went to the same places.”
“We didn’t go to the prison, I didn’t even know there was one. Marge didn’t say anything about one. But we went to the CDC then headed up 85, ran out of gas, hung out at a house in a development for a night, and started walking. Found the warehouse and then Aaron found us.”
“We were held up at a farm for a few weeks after the cdc, then it got overran.” Glenn runs his hand over your wet hair, “I’m so glad you kept going.”
You nod, “Trust me, I wanted to give up so many times, but this..” you pull up your necklace, “..kept giving me hope.”
Glenn smiles, “I still have that picture of you. That’s what kept me going.”
You smile, “I love you, Glenn Rhee.”
He kisses your forehead, “I love you. So much.” He pulls you in for a tight hug, “Are you up for meeting the people I’ve been stuck with for the last two years?”
“You mean your family?” You smirk as he nods and you sigh, “Then yes, yes I am.”

SOUTH PAW?
carl grimes x fem reader
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: mentions of character death (Abraham & Glenn), mentions of gore, traumatic events, mentions of amputation, begging, mentions of pregnancy (Maggie's), Negan, unedited work.
A/N: sorry for the long break, i've been so busy with a lot of things but i have a few scrap drafts i might put together and post so i'll try my best to update my queue this week.
a long night of violence is how she could describe it, a long night of tears pouring down everyone's faces as they watched a cruel man bash in two of their friends heads without even such an ounce of mercy for their poor souls in his mind.
the night felt like the eternity but as the sun had risen and the night faded it was still like a fever dream, like this wasn't all real and she was going to have to wake up soon from this nightmare.
except this was all real, Abraham and Glenn's dead bodies with their heads smashed in that was real, all of the blood splattered on y/n's face from the slinging of Negan's bat that was real.
she watched as Rick was tossed back out onto the gravel, his hands reaching to stop himself as he followed the man's forceful orders to get on all fours while he kneeled down to him.
"i'm giving you a choice Rick and this is your grand prize, what you do next will decide whether it becomes just those twos bad day or the rest of these lovely men and women sitting in front of us"
he gestured with his hands for his men to point guns at the back of their heads and y/n could feel the barrel pressed against the back of her head making her swallow harshly.
her knees started to ache from the rocks that pressed against them, the blood of a father figure had dried on her face and she could almost feel like it had been sinking into the pores of her skin.
she felt gross to have the blood on her, she felt sick each time she even looked at the dead man who was next to her, she felt sick knowing his pregnant wife was a sobbing wreck just a few feet away.
and Carl had hated to see her cry with each strike from Negan's bat that pounded into Glenn's head like he wasn't a person but yet just a piece of meat Negan used as his beating ground.
she watched as Negan had approached Carl making her heart sink as he rested his bat against his shoulder and she watched as some of the blood smeared out onto his leather.
he held out a hand to Carl who cocked his head hesitantly as he tried to ignore the gesture but Negan smiled and cleared his throat before speaking up "take my hand kid" he spoke bitterly watching as the teen finally gave in and took the man's hand.
he was stood up and Negan had waved his arm out to the side to where the boy's father rested on the ground, blood on his face, eye bags and his eyes red as his eye were still looking like they had been watering again, like they were on the brim of tears.
he pointed at the spot empty next to his father as Carl took a few steps watching as Negan stood in front of him taking a quite consideration to the gauze over his missing eye.
"you a south paw?" he asked watching as Carl looked clearly confused by a phrase he never heard before and it made Negan re-phrase his question to him, "you a lefty?" he watched as Carl shook his head while Negan pulled out a belt and un-raveled it.
he tied a belt against the boy's arm, "that hurt?" Negan remarked watching as the boy in the hat snapped back a quick 'no' before looking down at the leather tightened on his arm.
"on the ground next to Daddy and don't forget to spread your wings boy" Negan spoke as he watched Carl lay flat on the ground, his head turning in the direction to where he could see y/n and his father.
he could see the terror on his girlfriends face, the fear stuck in her eyes as her palms were flat and sinking into the same gravel the soft flesh of his cheek had now been resting against.
he could hear the crunching of Negan's boots against the rocks, and it stopped once he could see him crouch next to him thanking Simon for the pen that was given to him,
he himself was scared of what he had planned for him, what Negan had planned to do to Carl especially in front of his father and his girlfriend who had more tears pouring down her face.
he marked Carl's arm and apologized in such an sarcastic way that Carl had never even heard a human being sound so derisive in that way, even in the apocalypse.
he could hear his father start to beg as his girlfriend looked down at the ground using the back of her hand to cover up her sniffles, to cover up the rapid breathing spilling out from her.
he could see the harsh way her body rattled as she tried to manage to stay quiet in the fear that someone else would die, in fear that maybe it'd be her or even Carl that'd be next.
the word please was pouring like a continuous river in his head, the word his father kept repeating over and over as he begged Negan to show his son some mercy, to show he himself some mercy.
"don't beg me because i ain't the one doing shit" Negan spoke roughly patting Rick against the back before he gave his next order at the quite obvious traumatized man who was on all fours before him.
"Rick pick up your ax," he paused licking his chapped lips clean before continuing what he wanted Rick to do, "and cut off your son's left arm, now i know you're gonna have to process that for a second and believe me that makes sense so i'll give you a minute"
a loud gasp of air had erupted from y/n's mouth as she closed her eyes at the feeling of the barrel pressing even harder against the back of her head making her lip shake and her eyes flood.
he stood up and rubbed his hands on the denim of his pants watching as Rick's expression turn into now an even stronger pleading one, like it was just the ocean color of his eyes and the quiver of his lip giving off all the true emotion even more than his words that were spilled in such a babble of emotion.
"i am still gonna need you to do it though or all these people are going to die, then Carl dies, then the people back at your home die, and i'm gonna keep you living for a few years just so you can think about the decision you make right now"
Negan looked around at the men and women all lined up, and yet one had the courage to speak up, y/n to be exact only had the courage to speak up because it was her boyfriends life on the line.
"you d-don't have to do t-this, We understand! please we u-understand!" she looked down at her boyfriend who almost had a few tears slipping of his own as he looked at her,
as he looked at the shaking and sobbing mess this man had turned her into, he watched the sorrow tearing through her like a walker who was hungry for flesh.
he seemed to like the fear that ran though all of them, he liked the idea of watching them all tremble while they payed the price of wiping out one of his out posts because something about the pity and the terror gave him power, it gave him control.
"I'm not so sure Rick does. So i'm gonna need a clean cut right there on that line i drew out for you! now believe me this is a screwed up thing to ask, trust me i know but it's gonna have to be clean nothing messy so our doctors can fold something over."
he watched Rick tremble as he kneeled and continued to spew out his words, "we have great doctors the kid'll be fine, probably. and Rick we're in a time frame so this needs to happen now or i will crush this fella's head in myself"
"please i can take his place" Rick begged over and over as his throat felt sore and his mouth dry while his eyes ached and his head started to pound at the idea of hurting his son.
"please Negan please" Rick begged again watching as the man ran over some stubble of his beard and shook his head with a 'no' to answer Rick's pleas for it to be him instead.
"this is the only way, not making this decision is a big decision. Do you want to see everyone in front of you die? because if you don't pick up that ax you will, and you will see everything"
Rick cleared his throat as his hands remained planted in the rocks still in a pity of confusion from the whole situation, and now Negan had started to count loudly and once he got to one Rick had his ax raised while Carl was yelling at him to go through with it.
Y/n sobbed into her hands as she could hear her boyfriend cry out for his own father to cut off his arm, and when she could hear the soft chuckle of Negan and the soft gasping of Rick and not even a subtle yell or scream from Carl but yet she still buried her face.
Negan had taken the ax away from Rick's raised arm and he reached up a hand to pull Carl up from the ground, "you answer to me, you provide for me, you belong to me" and Rick nodded his head and agreed to the fact that he had now belonged to Negan and his men.
"see that look is the look i wanted to see! and man we did it, even those dead guys with the smashed in brains get a participation award for sure" he sighed as he tossed his bat over his shoulder.
"i hope for everyone's sake you understand how things work around here, things change and right about now they've changed whatever you had going for you is over, now i'll be back in a week Rick so use the truck i'll leave to gather my shit or someone else dies."
"I can't look, I can't, Carl please"
she mumbled feeling as someone in front of her had tugged on her hands softly, but she still held them against her face in fear she would see other blood being shed that she didn't want to see.
"look at me y/n, look at me"
he spoke finally being able to pull her hands away from her face once she realized that it was Carl and he had both of his arms, he furrowed his brows softly watching as she quivered and couldn't keep her eyes away from the line that he had drawn out onto his arm.
-
once he and his men had left y/n tried to stand but she could only drop back on her knees as she looked over at the dead man on the ground next to her, she gasped as her knees felt weak.
and it was Carl who lifted her up, it was Carl's arms that wrapped around her while he gave her the comfort of burying her face into the soft fabric of his flannel to shield herself from the damage and the violence that had been done to her friend.
she sobbed so hard that she could feel it shake both of their bodies, Carl stroked over her hair and watched as she shook under his grasp, she shook so hard her body started to wobble.
she couldn't speak because every time she tried to get a word out it was just a rush of tears, a rush of gasps for air, a rush of mutters that weren't even comprehensible to him or her.
her vision seemed blurry and her head was pounding so hard and her heart beat so fast she felt like she was dying, she felt like the world had been slipping away from her finger tips.
the only word that had been able to be heard was a loud gasp of 'no' as she looked at the line still on his arm, the line where Negan wanted Rick to chop off his arm, the line that now told trembling stories.
she squeezed her hand on it so tight that even the belt hadn't cut off that much circulation to his arm, she clung to his shirt as she could hear the sound of someone's shoes crunching against the gravel.
she could hear Maggie's cries and Rick who whispered something to his son who held out onto the shaking y/n, Sasha and Rosita frozen in such a terror and disbelief, Eugene still crying softly, Aaron and Michonne who were sitting in such a pity of silence.
and the two bodies around them.
y/n had slipped to her knees and Carl had let her, he let her bury her face into the ground and he rubbed her back as he tried to stop her from hyper ventilating at the shock around her but it was no use because it felt a ton of bricks were pressing against her chest.
She could feel a second hand on her back and she could tell it was Rick's by the wedding ring that she could feel through the cotton t-shirt she had been wearing,
"oh god, t-that c-could've been y-you" she sputtered out as she still felt like she could feel the specks of blood hitting her cheek with each and every strike from Negan's bat smashing into the pour mans head.
her body ached and it felt like her lungs had now finally collapsed in from the harsh beating her heart had pushed off, her bones ached from all the shaking and her cheeks were sore from the amount of tears that had been poured down them.
"i'm right here y/n, i'm right here" he had dropped to his knees and placed his hat down on the ground, he let his knees sink into the same rocks where the bodies laid.
where Maggie's tears had poured and where they knew the rest of the lives had just changed forever because they got the shit end of a deal they should've never even taken.
"Maggie" she managed to gasp out as she could feel her limp body being lifted up by not just Carl but his father, they had lifted her up so she could be taken to Maggie.
the widow's lungs gasped for air as she looked down at the ground, her knees ached and she felt sick even sicker than before, she could feel the teen reach out and place a soft but shaking hand a top of hers and to which she had finally spoken out.
"you need to go, you need to get everyone out of here Rick" Maggie spoke still sounding so brave, like she was keeping it all together when in reality she was spiraling in her mind.
spiraling at the fact her father, her sister and now her husband the father of her child had been killed in front of her, after they had begged and after they had tried their best to bargain.
"he's our family to, we'll do this together" Rick spoke watching as Maggie sniffled and the still distraught teen next to her had nodded along with the idea as her eyes filled with seeping tears.
"he's right we'll do it t-together because we're all family"

Tumblr media
𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞~
genre: fluff pairing: Rick Grimes x f!reader summary: Reader can't hold back anymore but show Rick what she feels for him. warning: age gap(reader is in her early 20s)
a/n: this was a bit rushed... and im still working on other requests, they're just taking some time.
Tumblr media
The barn was quiet, just the sound of birds chirping, and flies buzzing could be heard. It was almost sunset, and you were out feeding the horses.
You held the green bucket filled with fruits and vegetables that Beth and you had cut up that evening. The horse snorts as it leans towards the bucket, consuming its dinner.
Staying at the farm with the Greene's and the rest of the group was everything you could wish for. You were sleeping under a roof, sharing a room with Beth, which was fine. There was also a lot of land and trees where you would often spend time reading.
It was perfect.
The sound of footsteps behind you startles you, snapping you out of your thoughts.
When you turn around, you find Rick standing there, a hand on his belt.
You offer a small smile, growing a little shy that Rick is here. "Hey." You greet him before turning to glance at the horse as it moves its snout from the bucket.
"Need something?" You ask, finally facing Rick, hands a bit sticky with the juice of the fruit and dirt. You stand inside the horse pen, the fence between you both, the horse snorting in the background.
A hint of a smile grows on Rick's face as he looks at you. It's rare for him to smile these days, with all the recent events in the group.
Poor Carol.
"Just wanted to check on the horses..." Rick says before trailing off for a moment.
You nod slowly, eyes on the ground. You bite the inside of your cheek as you glance back at the horses, who are now walking toward their stall.
"Horse is fine." You point with your thumb. Was he really here to check on the horse?
Rick smiles again, this time more genuine, as he watches the horse walk away before returning his gaze to you. "Yeah, I can see that now.”
It’s silent for a while. The birds could be heard chirping as they flew by. It was still surprising to see and hear the sounds of animals out in the wild. Especially since the outbreak had begun.
“So…?” You try to initiate a conversation to ease the nervousness in you.
“Needed an excuse to come see you.” Rick eventually says after a few seconds, turning his head to look away from you.
Surprise is evident on your face. "An excuse to come see me...?" You murmur under your breath, eyes searching his side profile for a few seconds before darting away a bit timid.
He looks back at you, taking a step forward and placing his hand on the fence between you. He lets out a faint sigh and scratches the back of his head.
"Yeah. An excuse. I just wanted to come see you and talk." His voice now sounded vulnerable and somewhat tense. You never imagined Rick sounding like this. He was the complete opposite.
A faint giggle leaves you, “I didn't expect you to be this straightforward." You tell him, tucking your hair behind your ear, a habit of yours when shy or nervous. You let my fingers trail down to your ear lobe, touching it as you look up at him.
Rick lets out a small chuckle at your slight joke before taking notice of your hand, noticing how you always tend to touch your ear when you get shy.
With a gentle look in his eyes, he reaches forward and grabs your hand with his own, gently squeezing it as he brings it down.
"I thought it'd be better to be straightforward." He says his voice was sweet while staring into your eyes as the sun sets behind you. You could feel the warmth of the sun’s rays hitting your back and it just made you feel alive.
Your heart begins to race when you feel the warmth of his hand, taking your hand away from your ear. Your hand and his rested above the almost chest-high wooden fence dividing you both.
Your eyes meet once more, the action causing your lips to form into a sheepish smile. Rick has always been someone you admired greatly for his leadership role in the group and for being able to resolve almost anything quickly. But not only did you admire him, you also loved him more than a leader.
"I wanted to come see you because...." he speaks, his voice trailing off for a few seconds as he glimpses down at your lips, noticing your shy smile.
He continues, his voice becoming even more nervous, but at the same time, more sincere. He stops, struggling to assemble his words and thoughts.
"I wanted to ask if... perhaps..."
Seeing him like this made you feel something. You left him speechless and… nervous? You were probably the only one to have that effect on Rick.
This weird feeling bore over you and so without thinking it through, you stand on the end of your toes to come to level with his face, leaning your other hand on the fence to maintain balance.
You press a chaste kiss on his lips, touching the softness of his on yours as you do. Just getting a sense of what it could be before pulling away. It was short and innocent. Nothing else.
Rick's brain shuts off for a moment as you tiptoe up towards him, giving him a quick peck on the lips. He can't think of anything, except that this has to be the best moment of his life.
The feeling of your hand in his, the smell of the fresh hay lying around, the soft touch of your lips, and just you standing in front of him.
It's all he could ever ask for.
A sense of calm washes over him, silence falling once more. His gaze softens as if admiring you and wanting more.
Taking note of how quiet he was made you start to regret kissing him. You blink several times, lashes fluttering with dread and shame.
Maybe you read his intentions wrong. He probably didn't come here to reveal his love or something.
What if he came here for something else?
What if he was just being nice because you’re younger and inexperienced with this whole survival thing?
At this point, you were just overthinking.
“I'm so sorry, I took it too far. I read it all wrong and, and… I'm so sorry." You open your mouth, letting out a shaky breath before beginning to rant, eyes glossy up a little from the slight panic you felt inside. Your stare falls to the fence and then to your hand still in his.
"No, no," Rick replies quickly, shaking his head and trying to reassure you. He puts his other hand up and cups the side of your face, his thumb brushing over your burning cheek.
Rick’s gentle caring voice seems to ease you. “Don’t,” he says slowly, grabbing your chin to stop you from looking away, "Don't be sorry, sweetheart... I liked it."
You feel butterflies burst in you when he confesses to enjoying the short kiss. You’ve had boyfriends in the past, but Rick is different. He may be older by a couple of years, but he makes you feel seen and important. Something your exes failed to do.
The sun sets on the horizon, the breeze now warm but still refreshing against your skin.
"You have no idea how long... how incredibly long I've wanted to tell you," He clarifies to you, his voice clear with devotion. “I want to share the rest of my life with you. I want to protect you from what the world has become. I want you.” His brows knit together, a worried expression on his face as he waits for you to say something.
You beam at his words and give his hand a slight squeeze, showing him that you saw him. “I do too, Rick.”

Carl Grimes x N! Reader Hurt/Comfort
WARNINGS: Character death, Gore, Parental figure death, Yelling, Fighting, Panic attacks, Non-sexual nudity, Emotional turmoil, Swearing.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
The rocks underneath my knees threaten to cause my collapse. I feel bright lights being shone directly into my eyes, only adding to the heat that the now far gone sun added to the Georgia air. There are several strange men surrounding me and my loved ones, each holding a grim, serious face.
Suddenly, a man in a leather jacket steps forward. He appears to be carrying around a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it. He swings it around with an unearned confidence- acting as if the thing isn’t dangerous.
I begin to slip into my own mind while my fear overwhelms me. I start to think about all of my important memories as realization of my own possible death takes it’s grip on me. All of me and Carl’s precious moments together. Babysitting Judith, cuddling while reading comics, surviving out in some of the worst conditions- but doing it together. All of that would just be gone. I lift my head and look to my right, catching Carl’s eye. The tears that had been unknowingly filling my sight begin to drop. This might be the last time I get to see Carl.
My train of thought is rigorously interrupted by the man introducing himself to us: Negan. I can’t help but scowl at the sound of his name, disgust and hatred taking their place within my mind. He begins to walk around, discussing our past actions and the killing of his men. I let my anger and boldness get the best of me.
“Of course we killed your men! They were a danger to us!”
Negan suddenly turns his head towards me, slightly leaning back while he raised his bat in my direction.
“Well shit! Looks like we have a little talker over here! Isn’t that adorable?”
I look him dead in the eyes, tears still dripping down my face. I turn my head to look at Carl, who has a worried gleam in his eye. He shakes his head at me softly, begging me not to continue. I can’t help but listen to his please, knowing how much turmoil we are both already in. I look back up at Negan again- only to place my head back down towards the ground. He chuckled and continues down the line, seemingly attempting to choose a target.
“That’s what I thought, kid. Now! I do have to kill one of you in return of the men I lost. Only fair right. And I’m thinking you.”
Negan points his bat towards Abraham. Rosita and Eugene cry out, unable to contain the emotion tugging at their souls. I feel my own sobs start to come out, thinking of how life would be without him. All of those times he’s saved me, saved the group. It all is going to be lost.
“Suck. My. Nuts.”
With that, Negan’s bat comes down on Abraham’s skull and creates a bloody mess in front of everyone. Despite Abraham already being incredibly disfigured, Negan doesn’t stop. The sound of the weapon gliding through the air and hitting the remains of Abraham creates a loud thud, adding to the disturbing essence of the situation. I feel nausea creep up my throat- my eyes not letting my look away from the terrible sight. My breathing labors and I feel utterly powerless. Seeing someone you loves life being taken away right in front of you is never easy. Dread fills me as Negan then makes his way over to Glenn; the man who took care of me the most.
Glenn and Maggie were always there for me, taking me in as their own when it seemed like no one else would. They had ensured my safety indefinitely; never even letting me get close to a walker bite. Glenn had especially been protective, saving me from disaster after disaster. Together they took the place of the parents I had lost so long ago. My throat tightens- not ready to go through such a loss again.
“NO! Don’t hurt him! Please..” I sob out, scrambling onto my feet to go run to Glenn. I am quickly stopped by two of Negan’s men, holding me back from saving Glenn.
Negan shakes his head and looks me in the eyes, swiftly pulling away while he forces his bat onto Glenn. I can’t hold back my sobs while I struggle against the men, desperately trying to break free despite Glenn already being long gone. When Negan is finished he whistles at the men, signaling them to drop me.
I am roughly dropped on my knees again, my head feeling heavier by the second as the overwhelming grief fills my mind. Rage soon takes its place when Negan grabs my face roughly and forces me to look at him.
“Fuck you! Look what you’ve done. You’re disgusting! I hope you rot in hell when I get the privilege to finally kill you.” I spat out, not even daring to look away from him.
He shoved me back into the ground with a grimace on his face, clearly passed at my lack of fear.
“Well, you’ve given me no choice, kid. I can’t have a mouth like that running around here. Where’s my respect, huh?”
I look down at the ground, readying myself for the intense pain about to come. The shadow on the ground reveals Negan lifting his bat, preparing to end my life. Out of all the ways I thought I would die, this was certainly not one of them. I hear the whip of the bat coursing through the air, flinching at the sound.
I am met with no pain, rather a horrid laugh ringing through my ears.
“Shit, kid! I can’t kill you after a badass line like that! We will see about next time, though. Alright men! Pack it up!”
The tears start to stream down my face at a rapid pace while Negan and his men begin to drive off into the night. I can’t control the noises escaping me, a mix of sobs and screams erupting from my throat. I’m breathing heavily, and it hits me that I’m having a panic attack. Normally, Glenn is one of the few people that could calm me down. But he’s gone now. He’s gone forever.
I feel my vision go blurry with each choked breath that struggles it’s way through my lungs, and before I know it the work goes black.
——————————————————————————
I slowly open my eyes, instantly recognizing the room I am in. It’s Carl and I’s room, filled with comics and dumb collections we’ve developed from scavenging over the years. I can still feel the wetness crowding my eyes- memories of earlier in the night filling my head. More tears threaten to fall, until a loud slam of a door rings into the room.
“What the hell were you thinking? What’s wrong with you?!”
I recognize the voice as Carl, and I begin to hyperventilate again. I can’t stand those cruel words, especially not coming from him. Especially not now.
“Please. I…”
“Save it. You’re so dumb, do you know that? You could’ve gotten yourself killed! We sure as hell don’t need another death.” Carl announces as he interrupts me.
I don’t find the strength to respond, only sobbing harder into my arms. Every emotion suddenly came crashing into me. It felt like someone was tearing my heart out. I can feel my rigid and cold body begin to shake at all of the exertion on my body. I long for someone, anyone to help. I feel so powerless. Even though Carl is in the room with me, I feel alone. There is something missing in me that I am afraid I will never get back. Flashbacks of watching Glenn die replay in my head, and another panic attack overwhelms every part of my very being.
“I.. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry I’m sorry!” I begin to choke out, chanting the phrase as if it’s the only words I know.
Carl’s expression softens, realizing what he has done to the person he loves the most. He quickly makes his way over to me- desperate to fix what he had broken.
“Oh no no.. sweetheart I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled at you. It’s gonna be okay. It’s not your fault.” Carl whispers softly as he pulls me into his arms, holding me impossibly close to him.
I lean into his touch, feeling comforted by the support of my beloved boyfriend. I turn my head to his chest and allowed my tears to stain his shirt, grabbing on to him for dear life. His hand reaches to the top of my head, gently petting my hair. I begin to calm down, my hyperventilating soon turning into shallow, choked breaths.
“It’s okay.. I forgive you. I love you, Carl. I’m glad you’re okay.”
His arms wrap around me tighter as he kissed the top of my head. The once empty hole i felt within myself feels a little less painful, and the soothing fact that I am loved seeps into my once tense muscles.
“I love you too, baby. It’s all gonna be okay. I’m right here. You’ve been through so much.”
I nod softly and remove my head from his chest, looking up at him. I find myself getting lost in his blue eyes, slowly leaning closer to him. Our lips connect in a sweet kiss, filled with passion and apologies.
“Let’s go get you cleaned up, ‘kay?”
I nod once again and allow Carl to take me into his arms, carefully lifting me up and walking us over to the bathroom. He sets me down on the counter and makes his way to the bath- turning the water on so that it may fill the tub. I watch with tired eyes as he searches through the bathroom cabinets, eventually pulling out a small bath bomb with a look of pride. I feel a smile creep onto my face at the sight.
“Where in the world did you get that?”
He giggles and begins to open it, the sweet lavender aroma filling the room.
“On a run quite a bit ago. Wanted to save it for a special occasion. I think our day calls for a bit of soothing, yeah?”
I nod in agreement and watch as he places the bath bomb gently into the tub, turning the water off shortly after. He walks over to me and kisses me on the top of my head, places his hands on my waist. He looks at me for permission and gently removes my clothes, doing the same to his own once mine were littered on the bathroom floor.
I get off of the counter and wait for him to get into the bathtub, joining him moments later with his delicate guidance and help. We both settle in and i lay my back against his chest- the warm water soothing my aching muscles. Carl then grabs some shampoo and begins to massage it into my scalp, turning his head to look at me with a soft smile. I look back at him and smile back. I can’t wait to cuddle up with him in our warm bed, safe in his arms.
