saturn nakshatras and the classical arts
@venussaidso recently shared a post about a group of saturn nakshatra actors who were called "untalented and only famous because of pretty privilege" as saturn is perceived as limiting, stiff and restrictive through its natives
actors are generally expected to he highly expressive, dynamic and fluid — spirited, emotionally charged performances are often celebrated and given acclaim
saturn nakshatras natives often thrive in the classical arts, such as ballet and the classical music sphere, as here a certain element of saturnian control, austerity, reduction & adhereing to strict guidelines is needed to be successful. here, uninhibited, uncontrolled expression (such as the improvisational nature of jazz or the fiery dramatics of theatre) is not the norm

grammy winning violinist, hillary hahn, uttara bhadrapada moon
she was even given the moniker 'ice-queen' which ties into the frigid nature of saturn - an energy when applied in other genres or art forms where fluidity and brazen expression is the norm may be deemed 'boring' 'cold" 'non expressive' - but in the sphere of classical music a certain element of controlled 'perfection' is highly revered and respected
classical musicians are notoriously known to struggle with improvisation, as their main emphasis lies in performing works exactly as they were written hundreds of years ago, with high pressure on the performer and meticulous repetition necessary to perfect the art — conducive to saturnian energies
as with classical ballet, improvisation can even result in injury and there is an emphasis on control, structure, order and seamlessly becoming one part of a whole
despite constantly repeating steps that are incredibly difficult, require inordinate amounts of strength and flexibility while constantly pushing the limits of what the human body is capable of & comfortable with executing, it is imperative for ballerinas to display an aura of grace and effortlessness
in other sports, it is acceptable for an athlete to show signs of stress, fatigue or strain on their faces but a ballerina must always display a façade of serenity, grace and delicacy - traits associated with the cold, airy, meticulous saturn

ballerina and social media influencer, lori hernandez, uttara bhadrapada moon
from a list of 'the 10 most influential ballerinas of all time'
anna pavlova - pushya moon
yuanyuan tan - pushya moon & saturn
diana vishneva - pushya venus & saturn
margot fonteyn - anuradha rahu
virginia johnson - uttara bhadrapada rahu
pushya moon, anna pavlova in the garden of her home “ivy house” outside london with her pet swan jack
saturn nakshatras are prominent among acclaimed classical concert pianists
glenn gould - pushya moon & mars
dinu lipatti - pushya moon, u. bhadrapada venus & mars
carl maria von weber (composer, conductor, virtuoso pianist, critic) - anuradha sun
anton rubinstein (founder of st. petersburg conservatory) - anuradha sun & jupiter
arthur rubinstein - uttara bhadrapada moon
martha argerich - uttara bhadrapada ketu
vladimir horowitz - uttara bhadrapada ketu

Imagine one day a new social trend starts spreading. It’s something unbelievably dumb. Not harmful per de, but truly silly to believe. Let’s say, I dunno, healing crystals start going mainstream. Everybody’s talking about their crystals. It becomes impolite to criticize people who believe in healing crystals. They become a big part of people’s personalities, and people on TV start talking about them, and one day years down the line politicians are debating funding for crystal-based medicine. And through it all you are sitting there going, what the fuck is happening. I thought we were all on the same page on this. You want to get along and be friendly and open minded but you cannot pretend to believe in healing crystals, this is nonsense, and when the topic comes up you refuse to lie about it. This eventually starts to have social consequences—they’re that popular!—but what can you do? You cannot pretend a lump of quartz can cure the flu or whatever. It’s just all so unbearably embarrassing.
I think what the centrist/liberal/center-left reactionary turn driven by culture war stuff feels like. And I think the key emotion is probably cringe. Not hate, not fear, though those emotions may reinforce the turn. I think in a lot of cases people who imagine themselves pretty open minded and flexible have as part of their worldview something they thought was bedrock social consensus—on the level of “healing crystals are silly woo”—so bedrock maybe that it didn’t even need to be a conceptual boundary they actually policed in their minds.
For instance, when she started her anti-trans turn, JK Rowling made a big show of not being really anti trans, just arguing that Some People Had Gone Too Far. She wasn’t a frothing religious reactionary, after all. And I believe that’s probably true! I think Rowling probably did have a mental model of sex and gender with a little bit of give in it—of the “we can humor the odd weirdo” type. But as the discussion of trans rights in the UK got more serious over her lifetime, trans people went from “the odd weirdo” to “a recognized minority,” and eventually this ran against a bedrock belief that on some level men are men and women are women and never the twain shall meet. To act otherwise was just too embarrassing. And she wasn’t going to embarrass herself in the name of political correctness.
Other people whose brains have been eaten by the anti-woke mind virus (as @eightyonekilograms calls it) have something going of the contrarian in them, who enjoys yelling “up yours, woke moralists!” or w/e. Im thinking of ppl like Glenn Greenwald here, or Dave Chapelle, people who seem not to feel alive except when people are mad at them. That’s a separate but interesting dynamic. And there are people like Graham Linehan who become totally unhinged through this process of auto-radicalization, moths drawn ever closer to a particular source of validation within their chosen reactionary subcommunity, until they are truly parodies of themselves. That is also an important dynamic, but it’s one that only takes hold after the initial turn has begun.
I think the role of that feeling of cringe, that refusal to entertain an idea because it is too embarrassing (even if it does actually have a decent body of research behind it, unlike crystals) is important to think about, because I am interested in how to get people over it. I know that feeling has affected my own thinking over my lifetime. I wasn’t raised particularly conservative, but I had to learn not to cringe at a lot of feminist thought before I could appreciate it and learn from it. I explicitly didn’t have that cringe when it came to gay people for whatever reason, so it never entered my mind that it might be a problem. I remember being surprised to learn when I was very young that some boys wanted to marry other boys, but my response was “huh. Go figure.” Because for whatever reason I had not picked up that this was something I was supposed to be grossed out by. A general doctrine of empathy, of trying to understand people on their own terms, can help forestall some of this stuff, but it’s not foolproof in either direction—I don’t want to believe crystals have healing powers if it becomes socially popular to do so, just because it is socially popular to do so! And if they do, I don’t want to not believe they do just because it is socially unpopular!
(Obviously the crystals thing is not a one to one metaphor for the trans thing, so don’t read too much into that. Maybe astrology would have been a better analogy. Also I’m not talking just about people whose reactionary turn is predicated on trans issues—I think this dynamic applies to everything from gay rights to the Tridentine Mass. But trans issues are a handy example bc, as the adage goes, somebody posts once about trans people and they never post anything normal again. I think the classic rapid-onset trans derangement syndrome is closely tied to the fact that gender norms are a really deep element of many people’s social-consensus-based worldview, and so challenged to that worldview are felt as really cringe.)
I’m curious if other people who grew more liberal in their thinking over time had a similar experience of having to overcome what was basically a feeling of embarrassment at certain ideas.

Alternate universe Glenn is a #model, thank @cawthorntales! This was fun
Mr Sutherland... how's it going in there? Terrible! Who even picked this tent But I put stars outside for you And no mirror inside! Well yeah because you know what you look like How can I be expected to work in these conditions???
Okay, let's get to set... What are you doing Glenn? Waiting until the light is right By building a sandcastle YES. Hey did you know there are no truly bioluminescent plants I did not Wait... how did I know that?
No idea Maybe there are alternate me's out there and one is into plants and he like... put it in my mind *fakes laughter* What a ridiculous idea, certainly no other Glenn's out there that I'm aware of I hope there are Why
It would be cool. Like maybe there's a me that still has family. Or a me that is married! Or a me that embraced my spellcaster powers properly Or a you that applied for a bachelor challenge! Now you're just making fun of my ideas. But there could be a me out there that knows stuff like... there's around 2600 types of palm tree Is there? No idea! Ask other Glenn. Okay, sandcastle is done! Gosh I'm good
Alright, first outfit is finished, time to change Did you cut my shirt up to make it? I could swear the fabric was the same I know better than to mess with your closet. Let's get- Glenn? What? I'm sending my love to all the other alternate me's... and their alternate boyfriends and girlfriends and spouses and love interests
This is the last outfit... what are you doing Making sure everyone knows I'm flexible, alternate me's included If your alternate theory is right you know there's a you that has no abs right SHUT UP
Oh I have had the BEST idea What? The shoot is over I'm going to need that beachball. Remember how the prompt said it could be nsfw I knew it was a mistake reading you the whole brief Relax! I can do a tasteful one
Look we need to get out of here before you're arrested for public nudity There's no one else on this tiny island so I declare this a nudist beach That's not how rules work Too bad. Man I hope the alternate me's are getting laid right now GLENN

the ff7 idol au thats been stewing
ok ok here me out and my three brain cells of being a Korean kpop listener:
shinra decided that world domination needed less of the military action and more of the idol worship route forming shinra entertainment:
Enter music producer hojo and lucrecia crescent, a genius ballad singer, who decide to make their baby the best singer in the world using completely ethical and safe means
(inject the baby with mako in hopes of the cetra working their angelic qualities into the dna)
bam bam enter sephiroth crescent, born with a voice so beautiful it can trick people into ignoring shinras war crimes. However babies unfortunately do not come with maxed out stats in dancing and performing leading to hojo plucking baby sephiroth and locking him into a long ass training period (fun! definitely won’t give the baby trauma!)
Timeskip about 9~10 years:
Congratulations miniroth! You have debuted as the first SOLDIER, a group/idol school that’s like nct where there will eventually be so many members you need a wiki page to know all their names! Sephiroth then goes to join a SOLDIER prototype band including glenn, lucia, matt, you know the drill. Those four become like day6 where they play live instruments along with just singing, with sephiroth quickly showing his massive talent. Glenn, lucia, and matt: “wtf that’s a child” however the four quickly get close with the trio teaching sephiroth how to interact with other people. Sephiroth and gang performs in rhadore with great results
headcanon performance: Glenn on piano, Lucia on violin, Matt on drums, seph vocal
youtube
Unfortunately, the quartet breaks up due to shinra war crimes in rhadore. Shinra quickly slaps a scandal on Glenn, Lucia, and Matt leading to the start of the infamous sephiroth curse within SOLDIER where anyone that becomes sephiroth’s bandmate usually ends up mysterious disappearing or involved in a scandal. Sephiroth continues as a solo singer, becoming the face of shinra and a famous artist across the planet. With a hint of mental issues of course.
(enter angeal and genesis to kick down his mental walls)
timeskip, sephiroth is about 16~17years old:
shinra assigns sephiroth and two new members to become a new group called first class, the highest level of SOLDIER. Enter angeal and genesis, two 20 year olds from banora with mako in their veins and obvious sephiroth fans. At first sephiroth is wary (he doesn’t want the two to get scandal blasted) but soon the three become fast friends. Sephiroth consider the two equal in his abilities , and the trio quickly become renowned for their good ass music.

Angeal—> Mina Genesis—> momo Sephiroth—> Sana
(I have no clue how to fit the wutai war in here lol)

vocal ranking:
Sephiroth (perfect in any range, hits high notes without flinching)
Genesis/Angeal (good in mid high-low ranges, genesis can hit whistle notes and Angeal can hit decent high notes
Zack (great voice but more focused on rap and dance, can go from mid-low range)
Stage presence ranking:
Genesis (can draw a crowds attention in seconds)
angeal/zack (fun on stage)
sephiroth (little awkward but passable and has enormous presence)

mischief monday!
Demons had good taste in clothing. Leather, spiked collars and bracelets, ripped pants with tall boots.
Similar style found at rock concerts back when Glenn performed with his original band before the whole Christmas thing took off. Bordering on the kink scene wasn’t his exact intent, but it meant he could get a replacement biker jacket with some quality of leather that might even last on his motorcycle when they got home.
Jodie stands beside him, not batting an eye at all the nearly nude models that walk around the shop. The cashiers blink in awe at them, but Glenn can’t be bothered to give a shit why—All his focus on running his hands along the not so soft give of the leather that would become more flexible with time.
From what the scrying portal shows, Glenn’s got a lot of time before the final battle’s to come.
“What d’ya think, Jodie?” Glenn shakes out a particular beauty of a jacket, spiked on the shoulders, buckles on the sides. “This cool or what?”
Flashes of fire flickers behind his eyes, Jodie accesses the jacket, “It suits you.”
“Cool,” Glenn snaps his ringed fingers for his wallet, “It’s like 700 gold.”

Set during Final Fantasy Rebirth
!! SPOILERS FOR ENDGAME SCENES AHEAD !!
Glenn died several years ago, being shot in the back by Rufus Shinra. He has memories of the lifestream, though was ripped from it again to wake up years later in 0007. Wearing a black robe that isn't his, he has no idea how this happened or why.
He only knows he now somehow can hear Sephiroth's voice inside his head and is drawn to his former friend. Seeking answers and harbouring a new-found personal hatred for Shinra, he wanders the streets, though there are episodes, where he loses control of his own words and actions, being controlled by someone else's will...
Glenn lost a considerable amount of his former strength, formerly being a trained tank, he now looks almost gaunt. That won't stop his determination to find out what the hell happened to him - and is still happening.
It is rather easy to tell apart when Glenn is in control and when Sephiroth controls him. Glenn's vocabulary is a lot more laid-back and informal speckled with abbreviations. Sephiroth uses a more refined and philosophical language. Also, Glenn is good at heart, while Sephiroth has his own plans for humanity... [passages where Sephiroth is in control will be written in bold and italic]
[Whether Glenn was dragged back to life by timeline-crossings, by Sephiroth himself, through Jenova cells/Mako he wasn't formerly exposed to as P0 or the decision of the Lifestream is up to whomever I write and plot with! I'm flexible since SE didn't give answers(yet)]
#verse | black robed#spoilers#rebirth spoilers#though a lot is just headcanon#and so I can write in this timeline with him#which now also makes me write a certain other someone... at times. i try my best tho I have no real grip of his voice.

Nuclear electric propulsion technology could make missions to Mars faster
The trip to Mars and back is not one for the faint of heart. We're not talking days, weeks, or months. But there are technologies that could help transport a crew on that round-trip journey in a relatively quick two years.
One option NASA is exploring is nuclear electric propulsion, which employs a nuclear reactor to generate electricity that ionizes, or positively charges, and electrically accelerates gaseous propellants to provide thrust to a spacecraft.
Researchers at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, are working on a system that could help bring nuclear electric propulsion one significant, technology-defining step closer to reality.
Modular Assembled Radiators for Nuclear Electric Propulsion Vehicles, or MARVL, aims to take a critical element of nuclear electric propulsion, its heat dissipation system, and divide it into smaller components that can be assembled robotically and autonomously in space.
"By doing that, we eliminate trying to fit the whole system into one rocket fairing," said Amanda Stark, a heat transfer engineer at NASA Langley and the principal investigator for MARVL. "In turn, that allows us to loosen up the design a little bit and really optimize it."
Loosening up the design is key, because as Stark mentioned, previous ideas called for fitting the entire nuclear electric radiator system under a rocket fairing, or nose cone, which covers and protects a payload. Fully deployed, the heat dissipating radiator array would be roughly the size of a football field. You can imagine the challenge engineers would face in getting such a massive system folded up neatly inside the tip of a rocket.
The MARVL technology opens a world of possibilities. Rather than cram the whole system into an existing rocket, this would allow researchers the flexibility to send pieces of the system to space in whatever way would make the most sense, then have it all assembled off the planet.
Once in space, robots would connect the nuclear electric propulsion system's radiator panels, through which a liquid metal coolant, such as a sodium-potassium alloy, would flow.
While this is still an engineering challenge, it is exactly the kind of engineering challenge in-space-assembly experts at NASA Langley have been working on for decades. The MARVL technology could mark a significant first milestone. Rather than being an add-on to an existing technology, the in-space assembly component will benefit and influence the design of the very spacecraft it would serve.
"Existing vehicles have not previously considered in-space assembly during the design process, so we have the opportunity here to say, 'We're going to build this vehicle in space. How do we do it? And what does the vehicle look like if we do that?' I think it's going to expand what we think of when it comes to nuclear propulsion," said Julia Cline, a mentor for the project in NASA Langley's Research Directorate, who led the center's participation in the Nuclear Electric Propulsion tech maturation plan development as a precursor to MARVL. That tech maturation plan was run out of the agency's Space Nuclear Propulsion project at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate awarded the MARVL project through the Early Career Initiative, giving the team two years to advance the concept. Stark and her teammates are working with an external partner, Boyd Lancaster, Inc., to develop the thermal management system. The team also includes radiator design engineers from NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland and fluid engineers from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. After two years, the team hopes to move the MARVL design to a small-scale ground demonstration.
The idea of robotically building a nuclear propulsion system in space is sparking imaginations.
"One of our mentors remarked, "This is why I wanted to work at NASA, for projects like this,'" said Stark, "which is awesome because I am so happy to be involved with it, and I feel the same way."
Additional support for MARVL comes from the agency's Space Nuclear Propulsion project. The project's ongoing effort is maturing technologies for operations around the moon and near-Earth exploration, deep space science missions, and human exploration using nuclear electric propulsion and nuclear thermal propulsion.

Klaus Goldstein Ch8 [11~15]

why so hurry though

ehe are you still upset? well it's not that I have no complaints, but let's just move on since he said it was okay you have that level of flexibility right?
Liz asked him if he really thought she should've been punished.

uh… is there anything that can be called complicated it was just a disgusting stan behavior, nothing more or less I really wish this wasn't glorified as love blabla

usually I would've questioned whether there was any need to apologize but well alas please stop glamorizing

well then it's settled let's go to the labyrinth
So they also headed to the labyrinth.

what zz is this a sitcom or what

woah we weren't? it makes me sad to hear that, didn't we have a close friendship of our own
Anyway, Zeus yelled out to get Luci's attention, by calling him a little guy.

what the is he a cat or what why did he leap out of the bush,,,

huh he's a bit uncooperative okay, there is a very useful strategy here we have no choice but to call Minotaur

So they followed Luci to the painting studio, where a portrait of Claudia decorated the wall.

oh… so he had that feeling it's kinda unexpected, I thought he wouldn't be interested in this at all buuttt… I smell romance does he have a crush on someone why don't you just tell me a little bit?
A moment later, Luci returned with a teacup.

I know this it's yippee bug

hoarding bug,,,
Anyway, the case was closed and other people left the room one by one, leaving only Liz and Luci remaining in the room.

hmm,,, is he a pure lover who is willing to cherish his love forever, or a wraith who cannot escape memories of the past well it depends on what you think~
Then, Luci called her.

how did he know but then again, it's very obvious

is this a hint about how the story will progress? or is it just a vague worry well I don't think anything goes wrong that badly! or not perhaps there'll be something that goes wrong that badly
uh… among the things I've seen so far, the cases where a serious threat was posed to the LI's life during the route were… Az: unicorn horn ―penetrating→ chest Vin: some kind of dark magic ―penetrating→ abdomen Glenn: be choked by tentacles Sig: being a cocoon 4/15… roughly 1/3 it's a level that can't be ignored though but well I don't think anything goes wrong that badly!! or not
Anyway, she told him she wanted to say it, but couldn't say it yet.

-Ch8 End-

okay,,,,,, you're bound to be disappointed if you have expectations

Seen the trailer for the new urban-fantasy kung-fu film/musical Dragon Spring Phoenix Rise? It's about an Asian-American twin bro-sis pair with a close relationship who get caught up in a sect dealing in ancient magic and underground martial combat. At first glance it doesn't seem romantic or shippy, it hasn't come out yet though (it's released shortly for a limited time) so we'll see!
I'm sure it will have at least one great moment, it has to!
"Dragon Spring Phoenix Rise" tells the story of a secret sect in Flushing, Queens, that possesses the magical power to extend human life, and the twin brother and sister caught in the struggle to control it. Co-conceived and directed by Chen Shi-Zheng and written by "Kung Fu Panda" screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, this kung fu musical features songs by Sia remixed by Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak) and Arca, movement choreography by Akram Khan, and martial arts choreography by Zhang Jun. Fast-paced kung fu dance sequences unfold in front of, around, and above the audience in this original production designed for the soaring, flexible space of The McCourt at The Shed.

Are you a fan of romance and action in your roleplay adventures? Look no further! I'm an enthusiastic roleplayer who is eager to dive into thrilling stories with a touch of love and excitement. I am 18+ and my partner must be 18+ too.
Firstly, I'm more than happy to double as any character you desire in return. When it comes to communication and commitment, I'm a reliable and friendly collaborator. You can count on me to reply to our roleplay posts on a daily or every-other-day basis, although I'll let you know in advance if there's a delay. Flexibility is key, and I'm willing to adapt to your preferred post length, typically providing detailed responses spanning 2-3 paragraphs. But don't worry, I'm adaptable and can adjust to your preferences for shorter or longer posts too. I'm pretty laid back as well. You can post as frequently or infrequently as you want. I will not bug you for replies.
Currently, I'm seeking a roleplay partner interested in playing Maggie Greene from The Walking Dead TV show. I'm particularly drawn to pairing her with Glenn Rhee or a male OC, though I'm open to exploring other canon characters as well. In our story, I'd love to emphasize elements of romance, action, and survival. I have plenty of exciting ideas to share for each pairing, based on your interests too.
If you are interested, you can react to this message. I'm willing to write on either Tumblr or Discord. No preference.

IPL 2025: RCB Playing XI vs Mumbai Indians, Match 20
RCB’s journey in IPL 2025 has been a mix of highs and lows. They’ve shown flashes of brilliance but have also struggled with consistency, particularly in their bowling department. As they prepare to take on a powerful Mumbai side at their home ground, the playing XI that RCB fields will be crucial to their chances.
Here’s a look at the probable playing XI RCB might go with against MI.
1. Faf du Plessis (c)
The RCB skipper continues to be a solid force at the top of the order. His experience and calm approach make him a vital anchor in pressure situations. Against Mumbai’s new-ball attack, Faf’s role will be to see off the early fire and set the stage for a big total.

2. Virat Kohli
The heartbeat of RCB’s batting unit, Virat has shown great form this season. His ability to build an innings while rotating strike keeps the scoreboard ticking. A big innings from Kohli often means RCB is in a commanding position, and he’ll be eager to deliver on a big stage like Wankhede.
3. Rajat Patidar
Patidar has been one of RCB’s most reliable Indian middle-order batters. He can take on spin, anchor an innings, and accelerate when needed. In a high-pressure game like this, his calm presence could be critical.
4. Glenn Maxwell
When Maxwell fires, he changes the complexion of the game within a few overs. He’ll be tasked with taking on Mumbai’s spin attack in the middle overs. His explosive batting and handy off-spin make him a valuable asset in this XI.
5. Cameron Green
Up against his former franchise, Green will be looking to make a point. His big-hitting ability and effective pace bowling make him a top all-round option. Expect him to be used as a floater depending on the match situation.
6. Dinesh Karthik (wk)
The veteran wicketkeeper brings finishing experience and composure to the lower middle order. Karthik has pulled off several rescue acts in the past and remains a dependable figure in crunch moments.
7. Mahipal Lomror
Lomror adds flexibility to the lineup. A left-handed batter who can bowl a bit of spin, he gives RCB some balance. If needed, he can also be used as a pinch hitter or a part-time bowler to break partnerships.
8. Karn Sharma
Karn brings experience and control with the ball. While Wankhede isn’t known to be overly spin-friendly, a smart leg-spinner can still play a role in slowing down scoring during the middle overs.
9. Mohammed Siraj
Siraj leads the pace attack with fire and accuracy. He’s most effective with the new ball and in the death overs. If he gets early breakthroughs, RCB’s chances skyrocket.
10. Yash Dayal
The left-arm seamer adds variety to the attack. Dayal has improved in handling high-pressure situations and offers good control in the middle overs. His angle can also trouble right-hand-heavy batting lineups like MI.
11. Alzarri Joseph
The West Indian pacer brings raw pace and bounce. On a surface like Wankhede, where batters love the ball coming onto the bat, his variations and short balls can be useful in keeping things tight during the death overs.
Final Thoughts
RCB’s probable XI against Mumbai looks competitive and well-rounded. The key for them will be execution — especially with the ball. Their batting is stacked with firepower, but bowling at Wankhede has always been a challenge.
If the top order fires and the bowlers stay disciplined in the death overs, RCB can absolutely pull off a win. Against a strong Mumbai unit at their fortress, they’ll need to be sharp, united, and fearless.
